Quote
You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh. My heart beats wildly, my strength fails, and I am going blind. My loved ones and friends stay away, fearing my disease. Even my own family stands at a distance.
Psalm 38:9-11 NLT (2015)

EVERY SINGLE DAY there are MILLIONS of characters in their late 20s who get falsely accused of being father figures to teenagers when in reality the description of "weird older cousin" or "step-sibling that moved out before you were born" is 1000000x more apt

God speaks, God hears.
The Mighty One, God the LORD, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its going down.Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people: “Gather My…

Practical Ways to Pray from Paul
Each Sunday during Lent I have been blogging on a portion of scripture where we are shown how to pray for each other. Lent is a time of prayer and some of that could or should be spent praying for one another. Philippians 1:9-11 is a simple but profoundly moving prayer by Paul for the Philippian Christians.  And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of…

In fact, He’s listening so well, He already know what you’re going to say. #godlistens
Keep praying, child of God, because He hears you.
God’s listening right now, and He’ll still be listening tomorrow. #godislistening

God’s will for us is to keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight and praying serves to satisfy both of those purposes.
Therefore prayers never go unheard or unanswered because prayer is a commandment we keep. #prayerworks
God is never too busy to listen to you.
So don’t be too busy to talk to Him! #prayer
16 As for me, I call to God,
and the Lord saves me.
17 Evening, morning and noon
I cry out in distress,
and he hears my voice.- Psalm 55:16-17 #praytogod

God doesn't need long prayers. In fact, the Bible says, “And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.” (Matthew 6:7)
God knows what you need before you pray (Matt 6:8) and He already knows how He will answer, because God lives outside of earth time. Short, simple prayers work too. And in times of great stress, sorrow (or just not knowing what to pray) broken, weak, tearful, poorly worded or even unspoken prayers still work.
Friend, when you need help, cry out to God in any way you can. God is listening, He loves you and He wants to help you. Just keep praying (1 Thess 5:17). Amen. 🙏🕊️🙌

He heard my voice
In my distress I called upon the LORD;  to my God I cried for help.  From his temple he heard my voice,  and my cry to him reached his ears.
Then the earth reeled and rocked;  the foundations also of the mountains trembled and quaked,  because he was angry.  Smoke went up from his nostrils,  and devouring fire from his mouth;  glowing coals flamed forth from him.
- Psalm 18:6-8 NRSVA (1995)

Is God Real?
The human mind is particularly prone to forgetfulness. The same question would come up, time and again, and despite my every effort, I would not remember how it was resolved the previous time. Doubt would set in, and I would have to seek the answer all over again, and every time I would feel like I have discovered a brand new thing.
Despite the many years, I have asked myself recently again, how do I know that the God that I believe in is real? I have put my trust in Him in the past and in the present, and I am putting my hope in Him for all future to come. How can I be sure that my hope will not be in vain? How do I know that He is real?
I am scared even to ask this question. For this means that doubt is setting in my mind, and I might be drifting away from the only hope that I ever have.
I tried to reason myself with an analytical mind. All that I know about God is written in the Bible that He has given us, and I trust that He has protected this book for millennia that we may read it today and it has not been adultered. But how do I know it has not been? It has been translated from language to language, and there isn't even a consensus on the original language. We have lost even the name of our God Himself. How do I know then who is who? Somehow I just trusted that it is as I believe, but where is the assurance for that? For something as important as the life for all eternity, where is my assurance?
As I prayed and reasoned with God about it, I confessed that I do not know, but I trusted still. I admitted that a seed of doubt was then sown in my heart, but I was not about to abandon my only hope in this world.
Today, arriving a little late, as I settled into my seat, a song is already being sung on the stage. Repeatedly, it says, " I sought the Lord. He heard and He answered. That's why I trusted Him." I pondered, and I froze.
God is not to be analyzed by the human mind with logic and scientific proof. God is to be experienced by faith.
I recently went to a random website and ordered a custom made dress, I made a purchase but I will not know if the company is legitimate until I receive my dress in the mail. If I do receive my dress in the mail, I will know that the company is real. If they fulfill their promise to remake the dress if it does not fit perfectly, I will know that the company is good.
I sought the Lord, He heard and He answered. That is how I know that he is real, that is why I trust Him. It is not a custom-made dress that I asked of Him. It is the changing of minds and hearts, of mine and of others, knowingly and unknowingly. What, or who, in all this world can change minds and hearts? I have seen miracles with my own eyes. Let me not forget them. In all my life, He has been faithful and good. He has never failed. When have I ever asked, and He did not answer? How can someone who answers me every time I call not be real? How can someone with that kind of power not be the God of all creation? How can someone with that kind of faithfulness and goodness not be good with His words? How can the God of all things not be able to preserve a book?
If He says there is no other God but Him, I believe. If He says it is only through Jesus Christ that I may be saved, I believe. If He says He has a place for me in His eternal kingdom, I believe.
We do not see wind, but only the rustling of leaves and the sensation upon the face, that's how we know it's here.
I sought the Lord, He heard and He answered. I seek still the Lord, and He shall answer still, for He is real.

Proverbs 15:29 God Hears Prayers
The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Proverbs 15:29 As children grow up and move away, parents, especially mothers, desire that their children stay in contact. Once they move away it is more difficult to talk to each other, unless one is on a phone or the internet. Those make it possible to be heard regardless of how far away one might be in the world.…
