Zoro finds a sword that looks like the opposite of Wado (colour palette swapped) so he buys it to propose to Sanji which works out perfectly because Sanji keeps said sword with him so he can proudly show off he has the best engagement item (Zoro said fuck rings we have swords).
My apologies for taking so long to answer this. After writing this script I've begun to think this would make a really good fic and I might actually do something more with the idea. This was a fun prompt! Thank you 😊
Zoro: *not lost, walking through a shopping district* I can't believe everyone wondered off again.
Zoro: *enters a swordshop*
Swordsmith: Welcome. Can I help you with anything?
Zoro: I just need some polish and- *sword catches his eye* Hey that looks like *looks at wado* but inverted.
Swordsmith: Ah that one. I've had that sword for a long time. No one seems to want to take her home.
Zoro: Her?
Swordsmith: Yeah. It's name is a bit unusual which seems to put people off. They want a sword with a tough sounding name I guess.
Zoro: What's she called?
Swordsmith: "The lady of the Sea" Toyotama-hime.
Zoro: I'll take her with me.
Swordsmith: Then she's all yours.
-Months Later-
Sanji: This date has been surprisingly wonderful.
Zoro: I'm glad you're having a good time.
Sanji: Why the sudden interest in romantic outings?
Zoro: *nervously* Well- I actually wanted to ask you something.
Sanji: Oh. Oh.
Zoro: *Taking Toyotama-hime from his hip* I found this at a little smithshop back a few islands ago. Her name is Toyotama-hime. She's like the opposite of wado ichimonji. I knew immediately that I wanted you to have it.
Sanji: The lady of the sea?
Zoro: I know you don't fight with weapons, I just wanted to give you something really special but a ring just didn't feel right and I can't give you my sword.
Sanji: Zoro are you proposing to me with a sword?
Zoro: Is that okay?
Sanji: *smiling* That's just like you, yes it's okay.
Zoro: *handing the sword to Sanji* Sanji, will you marry me?
Sanji: *crying* Of course I will!
Sanji goes on to carry Toyotama-hime on his back everywhere he goes. Zoro never did give him a ring to symbolize their marriage. Opponents are always shocked when assuming that Sanji is a swordsman but refuses to draw his blade until he explains. "Oh this? I don't fight with weapons this lovely lady was given to me by my husband when he proposed."

I've been thinking about the Ta-Metru Trio a lot and I mean that I have as in I've thought about:
Takua and Jaller sticking to Vakama's side like glue all through the Metru Nui story because fuck circumstance, fuck peril, and fuck the consequences, they're not letting their friend deal with being a new Toa and be framed for a crime he didn't do
During the Hordika arc, both Jaller and Takua end up as little Hordika Matoran and Takua ends up being a little double-edged sword because he's both the one who breaks the tension by helping keep the team and Vakama from killing each other, but also raises it by being super annoying and usually pulling a, "bored child in the back seat," and asking, "Are we there yet?" And Jaller responds with, "No," and the cycle just repeats for hours on end
All three of them being Toa, as in Vakama's a Toa Metru, Takua is Takanuva, and Jaller is either in his Ignika or Mahri Toa form, but either way all three are Toa and they are a trio. They have their teams, their duties, and destinies, but they are still together, and Teridax, once he tales over the GSR, decides to test their bond TO THE MAX by removing the three from each other and putting them in illusions where they experience their worst fears and get the RWBY volume 9 treatment in that they see the people they feel have died because of them or they have they've let down. It's essentially a scene of, "You suck and never should have existed in the first place," that hurts for all three of them, especially when Teridax decides to pull the worst card imaginable and makes them think they killed their two best friends, so for Jaller, he would think he killed Vakama and Takua/Takanuva, Vakama, he thinks he killed Jaller and Takua/Takanuva, etc. This has a vague happy ending because whoever breaks free of the illusion first frees the other two as well, but there's still the lingering fear of their escape being yet another trap for the three of them
On a rare day off in Metru Nui, Takua CANNOT sit still and immediately goes to find his friends in their himes and wake them up himself, first Vakama because he's closer, and so the two can tag team and wake up Jaller. The three have a, "knock before entering," policy, which Takua uses to visit a sleeping Vakama and wake him up, first by being obnoxious and shouting about how they need to get up and take full advantage of their day off. Vakama is already taking advantage of his day off by RESTING, but Takua wants to spend the day with his friends because the three are always working. Vakama corrects him by saying VAKAMA and JALLER are always working while Takua slacks off. Takua still insists that Vakama get up, even trying to pul Vakama up, but Vakama doesn't budge, so Takua gives him the heads-up that he's going to try and get Jaller and will be returning before he leaves. Sometime later, Takua indeed returns, and Vakama is still somewhat asleep. He first has a dilemma of whether or not he is actually more attractive than he was the day before because of some hidden ability in his mask or because he just wasn't looking hard enough, and then loops right back to, "Wake up! Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up!" Living alarm clock. Finally, Vakama gets up, having gotten some fairly good sleep anyway, and the two meet Jaller, who is drowsy, but also awake and hopes Takua has some good plans for the day, or he's going back to bed. They end up playing and spending time together, which is a pretty good day off
The three are found sometimes by trouble, in the form of Vahki. There are days where they sometimes couldn't find their friend, and when they did, it was clear that a Vahki got to him because he was working and not paying attention to what was around him. "Coming back" from a stun staff is never pleasant because the one who got stunned ends up not remembering things for days and becoming aware as he feels the aches in his body and sees his friends and realizes that he really needs to be near now, please and thank you
Jaller is very vocal about Takua's mask not fitting and has asked Vakama to either talk Takua into letting him fix it so it fits properly or straight up getting him a new one. Vakama obly hasn't because every time he tried asking for the mask, Takua refused and developed the instinct of slapping Vakama's hand away whenever he went for the mask. Needless to say, neither made progress in getting his mask fixed
The three being out walking as they hang out and Takua trying to catch either a lava eel or a crab so he can keep it as a pet. Jaller wishes him luck with bith while Vakama warns him not to touch a lava eel because Takua will get burned. Later, when Vakama was working, Takua walked in, scowling, and asked Vakama if he knew how to fix burned hands, because he tried catching a lava eel and couldn't bring it home because his hands got burned. Vakama could only advise he get his hands in cool water and wait for the burns to heal, and try not to laugh as Takua grumbled about how lava eels are cute and impossible to pick up and how it's not fair how something friend shaped is so dangerous
That's all I've got. I said it before and I'll say it again:
I love these three

(To save you the trouble of searching, here are the two manga covers that were mentioned)
Hi, I saw some ss fans saying that ss are inspired by Japanese mythology. According to them, Sakura shares many similarities with the goddess Konohana-Sakuya-hime because: 1)Sakuyahime is an icon of cherry blossoms, similar to the name and appearance of Sakura; 2)Sakuyahime often holds a cherry blossom branch in her left hand and a mirror in her right hand. In Chapter 50 of the Naruto manga, illustrated by Kishimoto, Sakura is depicted holding a comb with cherry blossom patterns in her left hand and a small square mirror in her right hand; 3)Konohana-sakuya-hime is also the goddess of Mount Fuji. Whenever she is saddened, she can make the volcano erupt. This is also a symbolic detail indicating Sakura's fiery temperament. 4)Konohana-Sakuya-hime symbolizes the life of humanity. This coincides with Sakura, the best medic nin of Konoha (in their opinion) Sasuke, on the other hand, draws significant inspiration from the deity Ninigi-no-Mikoto (Ninigi) because: 1) Ninigi is the son of Ame no Oshihomimi no Mikoto, the grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu, and the husband of the goddess Sakuyahime. 2) The name of the deity Ninigi-no-Mikoto translates to "The Child of the Sun of Many Talents". Similarly, Sasuke has been hailed as a prodigy of the Uchiha clan since his academy days. Even the Second Hokage acknowledges Sasuke's potential, comparing it to that of Uchiha Madara. 3) Amaterasu sends Ninigi down to Earth as the Descent from Heaven. In a parallel, Sasuke receives the "Heaven Seal" from Orochimaru in the Forest of Death during the Chunin Exams arc. 4) Ninigi, as the descendant of Amaterasu, brings Three Imperial Regalia to Japan to establish peace. One of these is the sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. Similarly, Sasuke possesses his own Kusanagi sword, which he wields consistently throughout the battles in the Naruto Shippuden series. And finally, the mythological element in SS. According to them, on the cover of Naruto manga volume 8?, there is an image of Sakura holding a paper fan (commonly referred to as Uchiha' symbol– a type of fan made from bamboo and Japanese paper) with the emblem of the Leaf Village Police Force (originally established by the Second Hokage and entrusted to the Uchiha clan to symbolize trust), standing by the seaside. In Japanese mythology, during a visit to the king's house shortly after Ninigi descended to the mortal realm, he met and fell in love with Konohana-sakuya-hime by the seaside. I know that SS fans often make up a lot of things, but when I checked the information through Google, it seems to be true :(. So, could you share your thoughts on this?
so what the information itself is true? the “connections” they make are superficial and cherrypicking and pretty much twisted to fit their own delusions.
1) Sakuyahime is an icon of cherry blossoms, similar to the name and appearance of Sakura
they know that sakura is a fairly common name in japan right? and also, appearance?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
not really sure about that.
2) Sakuyahime often holds a cherry blossom branch in her left hand and a mirror in her right hand. In Chapter 50 of the Naruto manga, illustrated by Kishimoto, Sakura is depicted holding a comb with cherry blossom patterns in her left hand and a small square mirror in her right hand
so sakura is brushing her hair with a comb that has a cherry blossom on it (wow very unfitting for a girl literally named cherry blossom) and looking at herself in the mirror so it must mean that is a reference to a mythological figure. this is so lol because kishimoto uses that chapter cover to show sakura’s hypocrisy and vanity, both of which are a thing about her character. they are in the middle of forrest of death and yet sakura is too worried about her looks, while naruto and sasuke do all the work, of course, another thing that is constant in the naruto narrative.
3) Konohana-sakuya-hime is also the goddess of Mount Fuji. Whenever she is saddened, she can make the volcano erupt. This is also a symbolic detail indicating Sakura's fiery temperament.
yes, sakura is the only short tempered character in the naruto manga!
4) Konohana-Sakuya-hime symbolizes the life of humanity. This coincides with Sakura, the best medic nin of Konoha (in their opinion)
i’m glad you already added the “(in their opinion)” cause yeah... it’s just that... an opinion, and an inaccurate one btw, since sakura only achieved the same level of abilities of tsunade, but there is the small difference that tsunade actually created her own jutsu and was a pioneer in medical ninjutsu, unlike sakura who was just able to copy it, and no, you can’t use a non canon novel to say sakura opened a mental health institution in konoha, sorry :(
there is absolute no indication that sakura’s character was inspired by this mythological figure, the strongest link those people can make is “cherry blossom goddess” = sakura (despite the fact that the cherry blossom tree is a very popular symbol in japan in many ways and sakura is a very popular girl name there) and “volcano eruption” = short temper, this is pathetic.
now sasuke… is even worse lol.
Sasuke, on the other hand, draws significant inspiration from the deity Ninigi-no-Mikoto 1) Ninigi is the son of Ame no Oshihomimi no Mikoto, the grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu, and the husband of the goddess Sakuyahime
i wonder where is the evidence for the significant inspiration here... amaterasu isn’t exclusive to sasuke, itachi has it too, amaterasu, tsukuyomi and susanoo are associated with the uchiha clan, and why sasuke must be the grandson specifically? this is completely forced, it’s not “ninigi resembles sasuke and coincidentally he is married with sakuyahime” logic, it’s “he is married to sakuyahime, which i’m forcing association with sakura, therefore i will force parallels between him and sasuke” logic, the ends justifying the means.
2) The name of the deity Ninigi-no-Mikoto translates to "The Child of the Sun of Many Talents". Similarly, Sasuke has been hailed as a prodigy of the Uchiha clan since his academy days. Even the Second Hokage acknowledges Sasuke's potential, comparing it to that of Uchiha Madara
hmmm itachi was the prodigy... sasuke was also top of the class, but he had to work hard to get the same praise itachi easily did, sasuke graduated at the same age every child does, itachi graduated much earlier (if i remember it right, he was 7), sasuke was a genin at 12, itachi was an anbu at 12... just because sasuke is better than his classmates (because of his hardwork motivated by making his father proud and then by avenging his clan), doesn’t mean he is a prodigy, especially when he himself has a prodigy brother. it slips over people’s minds that sasuke worked hard! also... “the child of the sun” just doesn’t sit right to me at all... wrong celestial body i guess.
3) Amaterasu sends Ninigi down to Earth as the Descent from Heaven. In a parallel, Sasuke receives the "Heaven Seal" from Orochimaru in the Forest of Death during the Chunin Exams arc
sorry i don’t even know what to say to this lol yeah... analogy is my passion!
Tumblr media
4) Ninigi, as the descendant of Amaterasu, brings Three Imperial Regalia to Japan to establish peace. One of these is the sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. Similarly, Sasuke possesses his own Kusanagi sword, which he wields consistently throughout the battles in the Naruto Shippuden series
how is this not forced? ninigi brought three presents and one of them happens to be a sword? he doesn’t even use a sword himself? they are just picking similar words at this point.
In Japanese mythology, during a visit to the king's house shortly after Ninigi descended to the mortal realm, he met and fell in love with Konohana-sakuya-hime by the seaside.
that is a shuriken? the police force symbol is similar, but it’s just not the same thing and it can’t reference the police force either when there is already an object in the naruto universe that looks exactly like that... a shuriken.
Tumblr media
and if they make such a huge deal about sakura holding a fan (while wearing traditional clothing, so it’s not unfitting or out of nowhere either) i wonder what they have to say about this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i find it sad how hard they try and still can’t make one good analysis with logical arguments and parallels… well of course you can’t make that when the original source tell us the exact opposite from their delusions.

for the ask game: ❔
Hey anon!
Everyone is asking about WIPs 🤭 I'll pick a nice dramatic one~
Rebel:
Shisui has always been quietly rebellious. He skipped ahead in his studies to race through the forests alone, he trained twice as much as his peers without the required supervision of his sensei or the clan tutors. He gorged himself on his favourite foods because he was alone in his parents' house, he bought treats and presents for Itachi even when his aunt and uncle said 'no', he pressed money into begging hands before pickpocketed the extra back from nobles who sneered at the public as they passed. He was, in his own quiet acts, always chipping away at the stranglehold of control that the Elders had over him.
...But Shisui was also obedient to a painful degree; he's Mikoto-hime’s nephew, second in line for the clan headship after his baby cousin, and an orphan to boot; fugaku has raised him from the day itachi was born, especially since Shisui was orphaned (3 years ago, his parents died just before Itachi turned 3) to be the shadow, shield and sword of his cousin’s present and future. Shisui would follow Itachi’s leadership, haunt his progress, for the rest of their lives.
Its an honour.
Its a prison.
Its weighing down the only real friendship Shisui has.
And Shisui’s not sure how hes supposed to go on like this, a pawn to the elders and clan head.
And then... his genin team dies and Shisui wakes up in the hospital with the youngest ever matured mangekyou. The Elders, horrified and delighted, are huddled around him, looking like he's the best weapon they've ever seen. A thing, a tool, and Shisui wishes none of it had ever happened, could feel the choking need to flee from everything... But they're interrupted:
The Last Hatake, son of the ruined White Fang, has arrived back from the front lines with a stolen Sharingan implanted in his head. They want to kill him, a public execution and a complete annihilation of everything that the Hatake had ever been, and they don't seem to notice that Shisui is listening. That Shisui is sneaking from his own hospital bed to the next ward, creeping through the window to find a boy, a few years older than him, shivering from grief and from the malevolent Uchiha chakra on the other side of the door.
And thats when Shisui really starts breaking all the rules.
Ta dah! I'm not sure where else this wip is going but it's a good premise, I like it a lot because Minato features very heavily and it's very much found-family and healing and finding purpose, but... Enjoy what I do have to offer!
Thanks for playing, Anon ✨

Very quick doodles of Sato, Hime and Masaharu.
Some more stuff about them under the cut!
Sato had a lot of promise as a swordsmith, but his habit of taking himself too seriously sometimes held him back from receiving constructive criticism from the more seasoned smiths of the village. He was working on it. He's the kind of guy that comes off as very friendly, like one of those people who you can talk to about anything. His fellow villagers would often sit with him while he worked and just vent about everything. His sword deliveries took longer than average because his clients would do the same. He gave decent advice, and he remembered everything. He'd ask about what he was told months later.
He was Masaharu's swordsmith. Hime interrupted the whole thing, leaving both men slightly irritated.
But, hey, Hime was really pretty. Sato couldn't stay irritated at her.
Hime was a very excitable and lively young woman, but was incredibly naive about the world due to the sheltered lifestyle she and Masaharu's mother made them live. She just didn't know a lot of anything and held a lot of childlike innocence. She was very affectionate and didn't really understand physical boundaries. Her clothes rarely ever fit her properly, and she refused to wear her hair up, claiming it hurt her head. Her appearance in general was usually pretty messy. She liked to paint, and was pretty good at it. Despite her blatant immaturity, she was a very good caretaker to her dying mother, and a very good partner to Sato. And Sato enjoyed indulging in her childish whimsy.
Hime and Sato never actually lived together for extended periods of time. Sato visited her as often as possible, and there were plans for her to move to the Swordsmith Village after Ume was born and her mother finally passed, but that never happened.
Masaharu isn't as naive as Hime, but his sheltered upbringing affected him in different ways. He's painfully awkward, everyone and everything makes him nervous and uncomfortable. His mother opened their home up to traveling samurai, giving them a place to lay their head and rest (she had to feed her kids somehow, and did a good job keeping all that a secret. It wasn't until years and years later that Masaharu realized what was really going on.). Masaharu spent a lot of time watching the samurai practice their swordsmanship, until one of them eventually took him under their wing and taught him some things. He joined the Corps when his mother got sick, so he could support her and his sister. He also just desperately wanted to get out from under his mother.
Masaharu ended up raising Ume from a young age, after Sato and Hime passed (haven't decided how they died yet. Probably just got sick.). It was difficult for him, and while he loved his niece, he didn't really bond with her until she was older and showed interest in learning how to use a sword. He did his best with her, and would truly do anything for her. He did NOT want her to join the Corps. When Ume quit and went quiet and didn't return home, he was distraught.
He never married or had any children of his own. A few women attempted to court him throughout the years, but gave up because he was just so awkward that being around him was uncomfortable. He wasn't interested in women, anyway.
He got on well with Hotaru, the few times they met. Their social ineptitude bounced off each other and made for something that looked like a normal interaction.
Anyway. If you read all that, thanks (:

My Pretty Cure Season Tier List
Tumblr media
Futari Wa: I don’t actually have strong opinions or memories on the classics, but I more appreciation for the first seasons existence than its actual plot. I also appreciate the bond of the two leads here. I’m not one to demand duo teams, as that could either mean more character development or more filler, but when done well it’s done well.
Max Heart: I don’t like the sequels. They’re so pointless. I’m not saying a sequel season can never be done well, but Pretty Cure has not been able to at all, to the point where I do not miss it. It’s not lower because there’s nothing I remember of it that infuriated me.
Splash Star: I don’t actually have good memory of this. But if I did I feel like it would be higher.
Yes 5: Okay so there’s nothing I have to say here. I think this is THE average Pretty Cure season. The highs are high. The lows are low. No more. No less.
GoGo: Again, a mistake. I wish the GoGo designs were the original Cure designs, and that is the ONLY thing this season is worth.
Fresh: …okay look, it’s good. But I think it’s overrated. There is ONE thing in this season I find truly exceptional and that’s the villains. Eas’s redemption arc speaks for itself as the most iconic story arcs in PreCure history, and the generals are both funny and menacing with actually evil plans. And the world building of the villain faction is compelling. But other than the villains, there is so little here that speaks to me. I didn’t care for this lamb baby or these attacks, and the Cures are… fine, if a little selfish. Now, I don’t mind selfish heroes, but they need to be done well and there’s some great examples. These girls are fine, but I think Sword, Moonlight, and Princess are far more memorable examples. But I do give credit for the burnout chapter, that REALLY needs to be done more often in this franchise.
Heartcatch: I mean what do you want me to say?! This is the most popular season and it has every right to be. There’s nothing else I could add.
Suite: This is the worst duo team. I don’t like these two. I don’t like the cat. I don’t like the villains. But there’s also Otokoji and Ako.
Smile: Bias. BUT even without that, I love this season to bits. When people talk about this season they often say ‘it’s fun’, which is true. But I think this season deserves a lot more credit for its character building, creative shenanigans, and messages on personal happiness. This season has some of the best of the franchise in this regard. The plot is very paper thin and stretched out enough to snap in two, LITERALLY, but when the show is making me THIS engaged in its charm and emotions, I could care less. This is the ONLY season I can safely state that all the filler is acceptable, because it is a blast. You will never get episodes like this in any other season. I could go on. But good gosh don’t watch the dub. I tried introducing the show to my friends, they chose the dub instead of the original, and they told me the show was bad. Saban should be sued for that. /j
DokiDoki: I dont think this season is that bad. Sure it has problems like Aguri who is… the staple of bad Cure characters. But I like how little filler this season has and how many characters are allowed to be fleshed out to sell a theme-again, minus one person.
Happiness Charge: Hime is the only good thing. Change my mind.
Go Princess: I think this season has the best cinematics of any Pretty Cure season. You all know it’s good. I don’t need to tell you why.
Mahou Tsukai: This is the gay season. I don’t remember a lot besides that. I think the world was pretty wasted all things considered, and the only content I get from this is the bear and the gays.
KiraKira: This is mediocre. I love the character designs. I love the art style. I love the cat and dog gay episode. But that’s about it. The plot is a mess and all over the place, where stuff just kinda happens with no build up, and there’s little substance with the characters besides the cat and dog. It’s a waste of a great art style if you ask me, so this annoys be beyond repair. The lack of combat doesn’t help. The underused MC doesn’t help. The pacing doesn’t help. Promoting junk food doesn’t help. BUT I will say this: thanks to a certain OTHER season, I have come to appreciate KiraKira a whole lot more and some of its elements. It made me realize that while it’s not good, it could have been so much worse.
Hugtto: I am frustrated. I like the season. I do. There’s stuff I love here. But it is these LITTLE details that butcher the S tier for it. There’s some odd pacing choices. Awakening two Cures with completely different personalities and story arcs at once is not my preferred awakening arc. The cameos fusing with the story. Shipping the MC with the villain and not being concrete about the idea that he was toxic and she dumped him in the future and Homare is the dad. There’s also s lot of sexual content here… I am asexual. This is completely a me problem. I’m sure someone out there has a baby making kink that will love this. Again, there’s stuff I love here that the season does exceptionally, and I wish I could give it S tier. I can’t though.
Star Twinkle: First off, this season gets too much hate. There is value here. The biggest problems are the dark themes of genocide being brushed off casually, and THAT ENDING IS AWFUL, I’m story. And yeah, you could complain about Hikaru being a… lackluster MC in terms of a story arc, but I thought she was fine personality wise. I prefer a flawed MC than a perfect one. But at the same time she isn’t exactly a good character either, as her dynamic with Lala is the highlight here. But honestly I can’t put this season in D tier because it’s just so charming. This season is a huge inspiration for my fan made season, Sketched Artistry Pretty Cure (on Ao3), even though I would make that until two years after Star Twinkle ended. I don’t know, I think I just don’t trust Toei with art theme seasons /genocide backstories so I just do it myself.
Healin Good: Earth is the worst part. That’s it. The rest slaps. I love this season when it’s not focused on Cure Earth, and I love the character building and having such a relevant message at the time. It also has one of the best rivalries in the franchise and Nodoka, my favorite PreCure.
Tropical Rouge: It’s charming. It doesn’t take itself seriously and that’s admirable. Laura is also great. But I think the season has several tonal issues to the point where the comedy is hit or miss with me. Don’t bother with the drama! Just embrace the humor! That’s all I needed. This is trying so hard to be Smile but it’s not Smile. I know there are people who love this season though so… I am sorry.
Disaster Party: So this nickname is actually one my gf came up with. (Trying to introduce her to the series). And I’ve been using it ever since. This, so far, is the ONLY PreCure season I have downright HATED. Yeah. I hated this season. There was nothing that worked for me. Not the designs, not the world building, not the lack of cooking in A COOKING SHOW, not the narrator ruining the moments, not the joke of a redemption arc, not the jokes, not the promotion of junk food, not the worst MC of the entire franchise, not the bad gay rep, not the time traveling, not the filler, not the characters sitting around doing nothing the entire story, not the magical girls being downright useless, not the toxic positivity that is harmful to its audience. There was NOTHING that I liked here. I kind of wish the characters here were unlikeable as I’ll get out, because then I would feel something for them. Not no. They’re all boring. I feel nothing towards them. If you like this season, good for you. I wouldn’t understand. It doesn’t even deserve D tier, cause D tier is just for mediocre seasons. It gets its own tier. Congratulations.
Hirogaru Sky: there’s no picture here, and it’s still airing, so my opinion will definitely change. But for now if you want to know… I would be struggling between A and S tier. I like the season a lot so far. Its highs are so high right now that it ALMOST makes me forgive Delicious Party’s existence. But it’s still airing. I also think the pig villain is overused, but I think it’s because they’re doing a Sailor Moon thing, so maybe it’ll be worth it. There’s also the issue of the spacing between Cure awakenings. I’m not a fan of it. I think it’s fine to have a few episodes in the middle, but Delicious Party was really pushing my tolerance for that, and it’s worse here. Right now, we don’t even have Butterfly. We are 13 episodes in! You’d think all the Cures would be here by now. I would excuse it if Butterfly was the sixth ranger, as that’s expected, but no. She’s not. Those are my only problems so far. Everything else about this season is phenomenal, and I hope it stays that way.

Giftedverse | Splendor [Redux]
Joou Hitsugaya (nee Takarano), alias Luxurious Heroine: Splendor, is a member of the Heroes Association. By day, she's the owner of Takarano Incorporated, a company specializing in support items for Heroes, as well as a fashion designer and socialite.
Appearance
Tumblr media
Personality
On the surface, Joou is the perfect businesswoman. Ambitious, straightforward, and strategic with boundless intelligence. She's what the definition of "girlboss" should be. Many in her field look up to her as what they should be like and aspire to reach her level of success. While she is really like that in reality, it's also a mask to hide who she really is.
Joou is extremely hardcore when it comes to keeping people (outside of family) at an emotional distance. Not because she hates people or is emotionally stunted, in fact quite the opposite-- it's her defense mechanism. She has trust issues that run so deep that not even Joou knows if she'll ever be able to recover from them. It has earned her a reputation as a recluse.
Joou carries herself as mature and reasonable while on duty as a hero. She deals with criminals as accordingly and humanely as possible. She stays focused on her mission and doesn't let many things distract her.
When around her family, Joou shows a much different side of herself. A warmer, more open side of herself that many don't see. Joou is a loving and caring mother to her children, and a good wife to her husband Irefumi.
She is especially close to her younger sister Hime. She does her best to be someone that Hime can look up to and aspire to be.
History
Joou was born in Japan to Fan Zhìháo, a Taiwanese born businessman, and the heroine Glitz (Kimi Takarano). The eldest of two children, Joou lived a life that many dreamed of. However it was no dream for her not only because of her mixed race heritage subjected her to bullying and ostracism by her peers, but also she was born with albinism. To make matters worse, her body made her even more of a target after she hit puberty.
Wanting their daughter to have some semblance of a normal childhood free of bullying, Zhìháo and Kimi sent her to live with her aunt Shiho and uncle Keizo who were residing in America at the time. While there, she was homeschooled and returned back to Japan shortly before middle school started.
Upon returning to Japan, Joou went on the defensive and began keeping people at an arms length by isolating herself. She knew people didn't like or respect her but kept her head high and carried on.
Eventually she enrolled at the same elite hero college her mom went to and graduated with full honors. During her freshman and sophomore years, she was briefly engaged to another student there but broke up with him as she wasn't attracted to him romantically.
Gifts
Midas Touch: Joou has the power to telepathically manipulate the properties of jewelry (i.e. hardness, luster, etc) and turn them into weapons. This includes being able to turn a pair of diamond earrings into mini lasers or turning a necklace into a sword. She later awakens the ability to transfer their properties onto herself whenever she is in gem or metal form.
Ferrokinesis: Another one of Joou's major powers is her ferrokinesis. She can telepathically manipulate all metals as she pleases; though the sources must be external. While this ability is useful, it's also very mentally taxing on her so she rarely uses it.
Technopathy: Splendor can physically "link" herself to any form of technology and control it as she wishes-- all with a simple touch. She can even override systems and inhibitors. When this happens, gold colored circuit lines appear on her body.
Gemstone Mimicry: Splendor has the power to cover her body in a durable gemstone skin that she can breathe, eat, and even move in. This ability was awakened as a response to trauma. She can also adapt a certain gemstone's properties onto herself in this form.
Metal Mimicry: One of Joou's lesser used forms; she can cover herself in a metal skin that allows her to still function properly. The only reason that it's less used is because of how painful and draining the process of transforming into it is.

monthly word count - july
TOTAL: 7 111 huh! i'm okayish with this because while there were weeks i didn't write a damn thing i managed to edit and complete two stalled oneshots AND two stuck multiparts. progress was made! POSTED -What Brings Us Together (1 721 words) madara/tobirama externally-enforced marriage, some-kind-of-ace!tobirama. Oneshot, complete. -match & mix (715 words) gen, founders, DBZ fusion as a naruto-verse tradition. Oneshot, complete. IN PROGRESS -days on a wire chapter 7 (2 299 words) mada/tobi/izu ABO YEEEE PROGRESSSSSS. >:E -howling outside your door (101 words) bleach pack fuckening ABO - gonna delete most of it, redundant -bleach suburban ot4 (2 005 words) (grimmichinelhime being bi disasters) -bloodsport chapter 4 (131 words) grimmichi in space -- gonna have to delete everything, ain't working. :/ -the thirteenth hour (139 words) tobirama fucks with time to get his brothers back. (why do i keep getting distracted writing this fic. is there a reason my brain doesn't wanna. hhh.)
--
cherry wine ABO -- Izuna took his stance and braced for impact. (No sword, no jutsu, somehow believing -- how? -- that Tobirama would offer him the same consideration.) They crashed straight on, forearm to forearm; Tobirama's superior weight and his momentum shoved Izuna back, but he'd been expecting it and rolled backwards, catching his sleeveless gi by the collar and using it to flip him along. They rarely used pure hand-to-hand against each other and it wasn't hard to remember why; with the Senju's greater muscle mass and no sharp-edged equalizer it was like wrestling Madara, but he only needed to hold on to this whirlwind of elbows and feet long enough for Madara to -- Tobirama slipped out of his gi, leaving it behind in Izuna's hand, and dived through the door. Madara landed with both heels striking hard on the spot he'd just vacated, growling high and eager, and chased. Izuna followed, the shirt in hand. (He wasn't about to leave it in Higashi's room.) For a long and silly moment they just circled the garden from inside the house, dodging around tables and leaping silently over precious vases, and Izuna wondered -- hoped -- if the both of them were just enjoying it, too, just enjoying the movement and the play of their own muscles under the skin and the anticipation. If Madara was enjoying the sight of the mesh shirt on bare skin, the lines of his back, if Tobirama wanted -- Tobirama passed through the front room, and casually tossed his shoes in the entryway. That infuriating asshole. Incensed, Izuna leaped over Madara with a burst of speed, ricocheted off a wall, barely avoiding planting his feet on a hanging scroll, slingshotted himself around a pillar, and flew heels first at his unprotected back. -- suburban ot4 - grimm&hime -- Orihime laughs, swallows her nerves. "Well, I like my father in law! He's friendly and laid back and generally pretty nice, and if you need help he'll be here in a flash and never mention it afterwards!" His eyes are so piercing. "Yeah, but?" "But he also thinks men who are manly don't actually have feelings about other men. Like, father and son feelings, or friend feelings, or anything. I mean, he knows they have them but they can't say it! It has to be a joke or a jibe or friendly brawling or whatever. So then we had Kazui, and Ichigo was trying to tell him it was okay to feel your feelings, while thinking somehow it wasn't okay for him. And he's not good at being a hypocrite! So. It was hard." It might be hard the same way for Grimmjow-san, she thinks, if they have a son too. "... Yeah," he says reluctantly, like he's thinking the same thing. "And your da -- your brother?" Same thing, she wants to say, and her throat tightens briefly, thinking of Sora. She thinks it always will. It's alright, though. Sora was the best man she's ever known. He gave her good standards. She could talk about him for hours. "I think my brother decided to become nice and sweet just to piss off our parents, honestly! And then he just really committed to it. He was so good." Grimmjow-san snorts a little, like he always does when she swears. Not that she swears a lot -- maybe she should do it more, so he gets used to it? Adopt his dialect, and, hm, embarrassing, but-- "He was just -- a really gentle man." She pauses, brow knitting in thought, weighing her words. "My biological dad's a total asshole though!" The widening eyes she gets in response are so funny. She makes sure to keep her face ultra-serious. "A huge dickbutt. If he was on fire I would not pee on him!" Grimmjow-san starts laughing all at once, rusty-sounding and chest-deep. "Yeah?" "Yeah!" She shrugs. Ugh, he needs to stop being so pretty. "He broke my first bone when I was a toddler, so..." She's a little sorry to sober him up, to end the joyful moment, but the way he looks at her then -- straight on, like he's taking her seriously. "... Hah. Mine waited until I was six. Well, we've got an idea where the bottom of the barrel is, then. Your brother," he says with a hand raised flat over his head, "your dad," and curls forward to touch the floor.

Understanding the ultramodern Style of Décor Modern design was meant to be the antipode of the former design styles which used heavy textures, busts and wood tones throughout the home. thus, utmost factors of ultramodern design, from the cabinetwork to the shape of the apartments, includes clean, straight lines with no fresh detail. This differs slightly from contemporary design, which uses angles and broad lines, ultramodern design’s lines are crisper sharper and veritably spare
Olangana- designs- modren- baptizing Origin and Developmemt The ultramodern style is simple and unornamented. It's connected to the age of intrigue and is frequently appertained to as that of the 1920s to 1950s. The ultramodern style movement continued to grow in fashionability throughout the first half of the 20th century, and latterly derivations of this style are known asmid-century ultramodern and postmodern.

Anime
(armored people may not read it)
annual report to yourself.during the year, 130 films were viewed (animation japonaise). movies with the main character (hero)-9.and a few more almost with the main character.
next, some selected Burgundy thoughts...
Sonny Boy(9).an ambiguous film.but the scene at night in the sea and the music were worth watching.
Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu (13).this is a serious film, although it is hidden by comedy.the scene where the hero kills a woman looking into her eyes was very effective.
Uramichi Oniisan (17).the best adult film of the year.a film about love, happiness, life and... other "mythical animals"
Ryuu to sobakasu no hime (20).one of the best films of the year.although I watched it by mistake-I confused it with another movie.however, the scene with the "black and gold" field at the end of the film was very effective.
Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! (22). one of the best female films of the year.if you read between the lines, then this is a very sad movie.
Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi (31).almost the second best adult film of the year.a movie with the main character, with a real man.
86 EIGHTY-SIX 2nd (40).just one word-déception
Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki 2 (42).the most naive film of the year.
Ryman's Club (43).a rare case is a movie about sports that I liked.
Shikkakumon no Saikyou Kenja (44).training swords were similar to swords-and this rarely happens in anime.
Takt Op. Destiny (55).one of the films with the main character.I confused Ryuu to sobakasu no hime with this movie-the ladies are very similar.I am glad of this mistake-instead of one movie I saw two effective ones.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu TV2 (62).the sad glory of the film that caused the strongest flow of "selected Burgundian abuse" ... I liked only two things-the armor of the guards in the scene of the execution of the local feudal lord and the battle scene on the high mountain pass-important words were said there.
Leadale no Daichi nite (65).probably the best female movie of the year I've  seen. anyway, i can't fault this lady that you wasted your youth and now you're playing family?the lady lived all her life in the hospital and died there. so she can... I liked the gnome, the most serious of her stupid "children".
mieruko-chan (71).the second best female film of the year.despite cheap tricks like an emphasis on the chest, the flashing of half-naked girls in the frame-the film surprisingly turned out to be good.I especially liked the fox spirits doing their duty.
Blue Period (73).I can’t draw myself, so I love films about artists.despite some "fashionable modern phenomena", the film turned out to be so harmonious that I would buy a video cassette with it.
RPG Fudousan (74).women's film, comedy.I especially remember how the lady bard sang the song....
Dance Dance Danseur (79).a ridiculous subject is ballet....it's not a man's business.but the movie is unexpectedly funny.frankly speaking, I watched only because of Chizuru-fille drôle.one thing I don't understand is why the main character chose ballet.ballet is a phalanx, linear infantry, and the main character is Doppelsöldner-something passionate like "Latin American dances" suits him.
Spy x Family (82).this movie is very popular, so I didn't want to watch it.it turned out to be a movie with the main character.but I remember it only for its magnificent architecture.this is similar to Magatsu Wahrheit: Zuerst...
Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu (86).the film is notable for the fact that there is a main character here, but not a hero-chevalier, but a petty dork (as in kaifuku utsushi).battle scenes (robots...)drawn so primitively (2-4 frames per second) What I thought:it's the 90th year and I'm watching transformers? I liked the queen...yes, fille drôle again. but the rest of the ladies failed because vénus paléolithiques for no reason-vulgar and ugly.
Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de (91).in this film, the "game of love" of children aged 7-9 was well shown.
Mahoutsukai Reimeiki (92).an unexpected sequel to a long-forgotten movie.
Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto (95).the lady from this movie is the second best female character of the year.the film is quite realistic and effective.the scene of a female fight is worth a lot.
Tokyo 24-ku (98).the film is both childishly naive and very serious.
Yuusha, Yamemasu (100).in its genre, it is the best film of the year.
Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (108).what I liked - when the main character does not behave like a stupid virgin, he is a real professional in his field. and also his haircut (by the way, as in the movie about ballet).a normal man's haircut and not some kind of "nest or stack of straw", as is usual with all anime characters.
Shuumatsu no Harem (109).one of the two unnoticed depraved films.film about: if a panda does not want to breed to save its endangered species, it needs to be shot.
Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life...(112).remarkable film. there are no annoying vénus paléolithiques (almost) in it. one can say more, this is a film without women. women are nothing more than a background like trees, houses, etc. at the same time, the main character is a very expressive character.it's rare.interesting are the memories of his past life-when he was an office slave without meaning and purpose in life. dynamic scenes are drawn interestingly.and the moon turned out very well when it was drawn in an early (or late) phase.probably the best moon in anime.
Lycoris Recoil (113).one of the 5 worst films of the year.
Hataage! Kemono Michi (114).when this film appeared a few years ago, I reasonably ignored it, suggesting that it was some kind of nonsense. and it turned out. almost ... a long-eared lady with the name of a lost ship of a dead country turned out to be the best female character of the year.
Kuro no Shoukanshi (115).playing in the family reminded me of Leadale...
Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo (116).young people will love this film - it's full of debauchery with lush vénus paléolithiques. and there will be even more at the end of the film. but besides this nonsense, there are two unique and great things in the film. first.at the beginning of the film, peasant women are shown-in normal women's dresses and a covered head!amazing! second.the film presents a simple, logical and at the same time the rarest (in movies, anime, games) economic system-three types of coins in value.Fantastic! those are two things that no Bethesda would think of! modern man probably does not understand what is wrong with depicting half-naked women in some kind of vulgar carnival clothes and bare head to boot in a pseudo-medieval history. but I think that any modern person understands the absurdity of the idea of a loaf of bread for 20 gold coins... the author of this story is some kind of scientific genius.it's a pity that he chose the wrong genre.
Hataraku Maou-sama 2 (117).sequels filmed after many years... how much annoyance and disappointment are hidden in their words ... it's almost always a different studio, a different style of drawing and appearance of the characters, different voices of the characters.Hélas.
Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano datta (120).I don’t know what this movie is about, but episode 8 and the second half of episode 10 are the most effective. Isana is the best female character of the year number 3.
Youkoso Jitsuryoku...2 (125).unusual.usually an interesting film is interesting only in the first season.next, 2, 3 continued-worse and worse.this movie is the opposite.the first season was like cardboard instead of cake - about nothing. not a single memorable character.the second film was unexpectedly bright.Pourquoi?-Cherchez la femme...Kei is perfect for the main character. They are generally the perfect couple. Probably the best couple this year. (I don’t keep statistics on couples, but it’s quite possible).

#My kingdom for the princess 2 level 4.5 walk through series
Zelda has also been depicted in casual attire, such as in Skyward Sword, or in a blue shirt with Hylian embroideries as the Champions commander in Breath of the Wild.Īssociated with the Goddess Nayru and the Triforce of Wisdom, Zelda possesses keen insight and good judgment-although this does not always avail her in eschewing capture. She often wears jewelry such as ornate earrings (which in some games feature a Triforce design), as well as a royal gown of white, pink, lavender, or another pale color (red in The Adventure of Link), usually bearing the Royal Family's crest. She also has light brown hair in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (though she is depicted as being blonde in artwork), and auburn hair in The Adventure of Link. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, in which her appearance is based on that of Twilight Princess), she is depicted as a brunette. In Twilight Princess, however (and therefore in Super Smash Bros. Zelda is portrayed as a young girl or beautiful young woman, usually with blonde hair. Additionally, at least two incarnations are known to have tomboyish qualities, such as Tetra and the Zelda from Ocarina of Time. The Zelda of Skyloft was indeed born a commoner and Tetra is the child of a pirate. However, this is likely due to the fact that neither was raised to be royalty from birth unlike most incarnations of Princess Zelda. She is however, extremely loyal towards the ones she cares for (such as Link) and does not tolerate them getting harmed.Ĭertain incarnations, like the Zelda of Skyloft and Tetra, are shown to have a slightly playful personality and more casual attitude. She is also forgiving towards former enemies even when they have harmed her in someway. Though not always capable of defending herself or others on her own, she does not quit and tries to aid allies when she needs their help. She always wishes to do what is right for others and is extremely self-sacrificing. However, each Zelda is depicted as a kind and benevolent person.Īs the holder of the Triforce of Wisdom, she is wise beyond her years and intelligent enough to rule her people. Since most of the Zeldas that appear in the games are different incarnations, they each have slightly differing personalities. Generally close in age to her respective Link, Zelda is most often portrayed as a child, but has been portrayed as a teenager or young adult on five occasions: in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Just as there are multiple Links, there are multiple Zeldas throughout the series.
4.8.2 Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.

hi bella, this is long winded and i tried my best to not just make it seem like I want you to validate my opinion but I feel like I’m going crazy over people using dumb argument to shit on sns
we know kishimoto was inspired by other people’s work like devilman, akira etc or referenced stuff from mitology. one of the people kishi referenced was a japanese dramatist monzaemon chikamatsu, who is also the author of the play ‘’love suicides at amijima’’ that the film ‘’double suicide’’ was based on, about two lovers committing suicide. and we all know naruto proposed a double suicide to sasuke, and a few chapters before they met at the bridge a character hinted at a double suicide being romantic, saying something like ‘’what if a girl falls in love with me and wants to commit double suicide’’. this is one of many references when in other media, something that happens with sns is considered romantic (we also have romeo and juliet with the ''you won't be an uchiha, i won't be a jinjuriki'', and many more)
There’s a lot of crazed sns antis that hate these parallels and say they don’t mean anything, just that kishi used them as an influence and nothing more. These antis are mostly ss,nh, and itasasu shippers who stalk sns blogs to try and discredit them. itasasu shippers will desperately twist everything about sasuke’s and itachi’s relationship to their liking, so it fits their fantasy of sasuke and itachi having a romantic relationship, or to say that if sns can be interpreted as romantic, itasasu can too (and I feel like you’ve heard all the reasons why they believe it’s romantic, they are all a big reach and actually laughable, apart for them misinterpreting the manga they will use mitology, novels and fillers as evidence, when it's not even evidence but just a bunch of delusional crap).
An example of those nonsencial arguments about ‘’well the same arguments can be made to make itasasu romantic’’ is how kishi used the tale of kushinada-hime as an influence when he wrote about sasuke, orochimaru and itachi. kushinada-hime is one of the women victims of orochi’s curse and is supposed to represent sasuke, the eight headed serpent yamata-no-orochi is orochimaru, and susanoo is supposed to be itachi because both susanoo and itachi saved sasuke (or kushinada hime) from the curse of orochi with a sword the same exact way (in the manga itachi freed sasuke's of the curse). But the difference is that in the mitology, susanoo (itachi) agreed to kill orochi(maru) on the condition that they give him kushinadahime(sasuke), to be his wife.
I think that because itachi’s relationship with sasuke in the manga is not romantic, not even hinted at or any crumb of romantic subtext (or sasuke’s feelings for itachi, which also just aren't romantic no matter which way you look at it), that you just CANNOT make the connection that solely because of this mitology itachi’s feelings for sasuke can be interpreted as romantic, or any type of mythological story that kishi used in his storytelling that may have included actual incest unlike naruto (and itasasu shippers use this references as actual proof A LOT). it doesn’t matter if susanoo wanted kushinada hime as his wife if that part of the story from the mitology doesn’t represent itachi’s relation to sasuke. I 100% believe that the ‘’double suicide’’ could be used as an example of how romantic sns dying together is, because it depends on both the reference AND the relationship of the characters in the story to make a conclusion like that. just like itachi pressing his forehead to sasuke means he is not pushing him away anymore, not declaring his romantic love. context matters. people pressing their foreheads together can be romantic or it can be between family. if naruto pressed his forehead to sasuke it could be interpreted as romantic because their relationship is romantic, not because foreheads touching = romantic. in ''everything together all at once'' the mother literally presses her forehead to her daughter. come on people....now let's talk about how kishi drew naruto kissing sasuke
anon, i have no problem in “validating” your opinion when it makes sense, when you bring facts. i said i had a problem with people trying to make me validate their opinion on anon because i’ve had anons going “so which ship do you think it would make more sense to be end game since kishimoto always intended narusasu to be platonic?” or “what do you think about the concept of naruto and sasuke being platonic soulmates?” i’m not copy pasting the questions because i can’t find them but what i wrote is very close to the original, like some gotcha moment for me to say i don’t actually find narusasu truly romantic, which it is and was written to be, or that their bond is platonic, which it’s not, and that would invalidate what i say here and why i ship them, as if i’m stupid to not notice it. sorry for the misunderstanding, you and other people can send me stuff to discuss, it’s not a problem, that’s why i have my ask box open in the first place, i have a problem with condescending anonymous people trying to underestimate my intelligence.
sasuke and itachi’s relationship is surely not normal, in the sense of how itachi shaped sasuke with the trauma and abuse and how sasuke became obsessed with it, but it’s surely not romantic either. parallels and references won’t actually mean that literally everything is the same as the original. in chikamatsu’s case, koharu is a prostitute, does that mean either naruto or sasuke is one? what it matters the most here isn’t even that in double suicide (the movie) the suicide is between lovers and therefore naruto and sasuke’s paralleling it means they are lovers, is that it is a double suicide because their love is forbidden/disapproved by society, because of societal restrictions or obligations. in the movie they can’t be together because of their classes, in naruto because it surrounds homosexuality, and because of their “jinchuuriki” and “uchiha” labels too since it’s mentioned. shinjuu isn’t necessarily between lovers btw, but shinjuu between lovers is the most typical one, and lovers that committed double suicide believed that they would be united in the afterlife, sounds familiar? the shinjuu is between lovers in naruto, the story itself references it on the same arc as a type of foreshadowing, or do people think it’s a mere coincidence? the story itself gives naruto and sasuke multiple romantic “tropes”, in the sense of how romance is perceived by society. it’s what you said at the end, it’s not only one reference that makes a relationship romantic, it’s a reference AND the way the relationship is written. honestly, using the legend of kushimada-hime symbolism is a way of kishimoto to write sasuke as the “heroine” of the story, something that happens a lot during the whole manga, not to symbolise that itachi wants to marry him. omg i feel like it’s absurd to even argue about this because the logic is so superficial. what romantic tropes are even used in itachi and sasuke’s relationship? what moments between itachi and sasuke can be perceived as romantic because it’s an idea often used in romance in multiple media? it’s an idea that is perceived as romance by society? none. on the other hand, sasuke is often put in positions such as being sexualised, we can even talk about how his sexualisation is often related with villains and people manipulating him (maybe i’ll talk about this later who knows), as being desirable by both men and women, as needing to be “saved” and those positions are commonly assigned to the heroine of the story, in multiple media. kushimada-hime is just another example of that. the reference itself is not enough to make a relationship be romantic when the whole context matters. touching foreheads can or cannot be romantic, because the context matters, in itachi and sasuke’s case it’s not, because it means itachi isn’t pushing sasuke away anymore in contrast to the forehead poke. that is the context. i’m talking a lot of what you already said, sorry, but yeah, you’re 100% right.
“so naruto and sasuke’s relationship paralleling akira and ryo’s wouldn’t necessarily mean naruto and sasuke are gay because they aren’t akira and ryo”. kishimoto constantly references devilman in naruto and sasuke’s relationship, even with the same choice of words sometimes, the difference is that the outcome is different between naruto and sasuke. why a chapter in which naruto and sasuke’s relationship ends up unlabelled, in which naruto explains what he feels for sasuke, and it’s one of the many definitions of love, in which sasuke reciprocates everything naruto has said to him is the biggest reference to devilman? devilman is more of a proof that kishimoto pretty much knows what he’s doing, that he’s not clueless. but honestly, when the similarities are so many and so clear, when you take the context into consideration, when the core of both relationships is very close sometimes, which is different than only using symbolism but not actually paralleling the relationships, it’s very difficult to ignore it just because one says it explicitly and the other doesn’t (because it can’t).

Manga the Week of 6/8/22
SEAN: As June continues, what varieties of manga do we see before us?
Yen On debuts Your Forma, a sci-fi detective story that asks the question: what if getting 5G wireless injected into you from a vaccine was actually real? and it spied on your every sense? This could be very good or very bad, and I suspect that depends entirely on the politics of the writer.
ASH: Hmmm. The genre certainly appeals to me, but I suspect you’re right.
ANNA: Yeah, going to skip this one and I’m generally in favor of sci-fi goofiness.
MELINDA: I feel a little “yikes” on this one.
SEAN: Also from Yen On: The Eminence in Shadow 4 and Sword Art Online Progressive 8.
Yen Press, meanwhile, has new manga volumes. Adachi and Shimamura 3, Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense 4, Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One 7, Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! 13, and A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! 11.
Viz debuts Ghost Reaper Girl, a Shonen Jump + series by the creator of Rosario + Vampire (though under a different pen name). Chloe wants to be an actress. But she’s 28, and her window is closing. Can she find fame as a ghost reaper, though? Note that this series is being published flipped at the request of its creator.
ASH: Interesting! Not much seems to be flipped these days, let alone at the creator’s request.
SEAN: Chainsaw Man is also ending with Vol. 11, though a sequel is in the works. We also see Black Clover 29, Ima Koi: Now I’m in Love 2, Snow White with the Red Hair 19, and Yona of the Dawn 36.
MICHELLE: I’m always here for VIZ shoujo.
ASH: For sure!
ANNA: Viz shoujo saving the week for me!
SEAN: Tokyopop has A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation 5.
Hope you like debuts from Seven Seas, there are a ton of them.
I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend Into a Girl (Osananajimi() wo Onnanoko ni Shiteshimatta Hanashi) is from Ichijinsha’s Comic Pool. A boy trying to practice his makeup technique has his best friend offer to be a guinea pig… but the results are more than either of them could have guessed. Despite the light-novel-ey title, this looks like fans of LGBT should enjoy it.
ASH: I’m definitely curious about this one.
SEAN: Namekawa-san Won’t Take a Licking! (Name Raretakunai Namekawa-san) is from Comic Yuri Hime, and features a bullied girl who decides, for her high school debut, to become a delinquent. Unfortunately, now she attracts the attention of the disciplinary officer. I am always wary of yuri series described as hilarious.
ASH: A different sort of delinquent manga than is often seen, it would seem.
SEAN: Nightfall Travelers: Leave Only Footprints (Yuuyake Trip) is from Houbunsha’s Comic Fuz. Two high school girls investigate supposedly haunted areas of their town and grow closer. The art is apparently the reason to get this.
ASH: I’ll admit, the premise intrigues me, too.
SEAN: This Is Screwed Up, but I Was Reincarnated as a GIRL in Another World! (Yoku Wakaranai Keredo Isekai ni Tensei Shiteita You Desu) is a manga from Kodansha’s Suiyoubi no Sirius, based off a novel (not yet licensed, I believe). I’ve been told it’s another one of those “this becomes fluffy slice-of-life isekai assuming you can get past all the sexual assault and threats of slavery at the start” series. Sigh.
ANNA: No thank you!
MELINDA: oh my god.
SEAN: Lastly, The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This (Futari wa Daitai Konna Kanji) is a yuri series from the creator of Whispered Words (Sasameki Koto). A 30-year-old writer and a 22-year-old actress are living together as a couple, and we see their everyday life. This is extremely comfy and fun. It ran in Gentosha’s Comic Boost.
MICHELLE: Well, at least one of these appeals to me.
ASH: I rather liked Whispered Words, if I recall correctly.
MELINDA: This sounds actually great.
SEAN: Also from Seven Seas: Monologue Woven For You 2, the 13th and final volume of New Game!, and Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs 5.
Kodansha has MORE Shuzo Oshimi in print next week, with Welcome Back, Alice (Okaeri Alice). This runs in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and got a digital release in February, but the print came fast. Three childhood friends have what seems like a standard love triangle… then one of them shows up dressed as a girl.
ASH: Somehow missed this being licensed!
MELINDA: I don’t know what to expect from this. Maybe great?
SEAN: Also in print: Cells at Work! Baby 4 (the final volume), Interviews with Monster Girls 10, Lovesick Ellie 4, Orient 9, Sailor Moon Naoko Takeuchi Collection 2, SHAMAN KING Omnibus 9, Sue & Tai-chan 4, Vampire Dormitory 5, and What Did You Eat Yesterday? 18.
MICHELLE: Hooray for more What Did You Eat Yesterday?!
ASH: Indeed!
MELINDA: YESSSSSSSSS
SEAN: The first digital debut is The Shadows of Who We Once Were (Nare no Hate no Bokura), a survival game manga from the creator of Until Your Bones Rot. It’s from Weekly Shonen Magazine, and… it’s a survival game manga.
The other digital debut from Kodansha is Joy, a BL manga from Kodansha’s Honey Milk. A shoujo manga artist is asked to write a BL work… and also discovers his assistant is gay. Maybe he can get inspiration for the BL by a fake relationship?
MELINDA: Oooo, this…
SEAN: Also digital: The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage 3, Changes of Heart 2, Chihayafuru 32, Girlfriend, Girlfriend 9, Kounodori: Dr. Stork 24, Love After World Domination 4, My Master Has No Tail 6, Oh, Those Hanazono Twins 2, and The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch 2.
MICHELLE: Insert habitual Chihayafuru squee.
ANNA: Gesticulates in celebration of the series, then transitions to despair at being so far behind.
SEAN: J-Novel Club has some print releases. We get Ascendance of a Bookworm’s 10th manga volume, By the Grace of the Gods 9, The Faraway Paladin 4, In Another World with My Smartphone 22, Marginal Operation 10, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! 10, Otherside Picnic Omnibus 3, and The Unwanted Undead Adventurer 6.
J-Novel Club’s digital debut is a manga, The Saga of Lioncourt (Lion Coeur Senki), which is from Takeshobo’s Kissca. Office worker reincarnated as a warrior in a middle-ages era setting.
And also Forget Being the Villainess, I Want to Be an Adventurer! 3 (the final volume), How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom 16, A Late-Start Tamer’s Laid-Back Life 3, Marginal Operation 13, and Otherside Picnic 7.
Ghost Ship debuts World’s End Harem: Fantasia Academy, a spinoff of a spinoff of the series that is for everyone who wants to bone 10,000 women who adore them. This is apparently a high school AU version.
Also from Ghost Ship: Ero Ninja Scrolls 3 and Might as Well Cheat: I Got Transported to Another World Where I Can Live My Wildest Dreams! 3.
Denpa has two new releases. The Men Who Created Gundam (Gundam Sousei) ran, appropriately, in Gundam Ace. It’s a done-in-one omnibus about the creators of Gundam… but expect comedy.
Vampeerz: My Peer Vampires is a Sunday GX series about the love between a teenage girl and a vampire… I think. The description is vague, but I mean, title.
ASH: Count me curious.
MELINDA: Same.
SEAN: And Airship has two early digital titles, including a debut. 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy! (Loop 7-kaime no Akuyaku Reijou wa, Moto Tekikoku de Jiyuukimama na Hanayome (Hitojichi) Seikatsu wo Mankitsusuru) is, yes, a villainess novel. But this time our heroine has done this a lot. She’s lived full lives. She’s done different occupations. She keeps getting killed. Now, on her 7th try, why not marry her killer?
We also get the first volume of Classroom of the Elite: Year 2.
That turned out to be a whole lot. Thoughts?

Snow White Winter: "The Legend of Snow White" (1994 anime series)
Tumblr media
The Legend of Snow White (Shirayuki Hime no Densetsu in Japanese) is something unique among the many adaptations of the tale: a Snow White series. Co-produced by Japan's Tatsunoko Productions and Italy's Mondo TV, it expands the story into fifty-three half-hour episodes that aired from 1994 through 1995. Like its sister series, Cinderella Monogatari, it adds many new adventures and new characters to flesh out the action.
Beginning with the story of Snow White's birth, it follows the little princess as she lives an idyllic life, until her mother dies and her father King Conrad marries the sinister beauty Queen Chrystal. Then, when Snow White is twelve years old, King Conrad is forced to go to war, leaving the kingdom and his daughter in the hands of the Queen, who treats Snow White with disdain and increasingly confines her away from the world. But amid this hardship, she befriends the handsome young Prince Richard from a neighboring kingdom, secretly meeting him for horseback rides and walks until he's forced to go off to the war as well. At the same time, Queen Chrystal's magic mirror proclaims Snow White as the fairest in the land... and the rest, as they say, is history.
The dwarfs in this version are said to be the forest's immortal spirits of happiness, and they all have names and personalities, only slightly reminiscent of their Disney counterparts: Boss (the leader), Woody (the gruff, quiet carpenter), Gourmet (the amiable cook), Vet (the timid one, who can talk to animals), Goldie (the brash, grouchy one), Chamomile (an expert in medicinal plants), and Jolly (the childlike youngest dwarf, who develops a crush on Snow White). But they're not the only friends Snow White makes. Over the course of the series, she and the dwarfs find many other allies, both human and of various fanciful species. Probably the most prominent of these are the goblins led by Prince Gobby, who start out as enemies but later become friends, and Jack, a mischievous teenage boy who also falls in love with Snow White and who turns out not to be human, but the fey Prince of the Forest. Snow White also has three faithful pets – a dog named Milk, a cat named Pocket and a dove named Cucu – and every now and then she reunites with Prince Richard, who ultimately comes into his own as a heroic warrior. Even the genie in the magic mirror has a name, Speck, and his own love interest, a female genie named Mylarka who dwells inside a magic sword.
Naturally, the plot is expanded as well as the cast of characters, with a wide array of adventures for Snow White and her friends that the Brothers Grimm never thought of. Some of these are confined to just one episode: for example, when Snow White is accidentally turned into a rabbit by her pets, or when she and the dwarfs fly on the fluff of giant dandelions and accidentally float to the palace of the cruel Ice Queen. Others are multi-episode arcs: for example, when Snow White accompanies Jolly on the "initiation quest" that all young dwarfs undergo, or when Queen Chrystal sends an evil fog spirit to possess the goblins and make them attack the dwarfs. The series format also allows room for all three of the Queen's attempts on Snow White's life: first a venomous snake that she magically disguises as a sash (this replaces the suffocating bodice), then the poisoned comb, and finally the poisoned apple. All of these require more elaborate magic to revive Snow White than just removing the deadly object, however, which expands the action even further. We also see more character development than in other adaptations. Snow White and Prince Richard's romance is one of the best developed versions of this particular fairy tale love story (though undoubtedly some fans of the series would rather see her paired with the Peter Pan-like Jack).Snow White herself grows steadily in wisdom and courage as well, to the point that she sees through Chrystal's last disguise but eats the apple as a self-sacrifice to free the forest from a spell, then remains an active presence in spirit form.
Perhaps the biggest twist of all comes with the reveal that Queen Chrystal isn't naturally evil: she's possessed by a beauty-obsessed demon, who now plans to abandon her aging body and possess Snow White instead. The climax consists of Prince Richard battling this demon, aided by Snow White's spirit, to restore not only Snow White to life, but Chrystal to her true self.
The series has been dubbed into various languages and received two different English subs, one British and one American. The US dub, which can be watched in full on YouTube, has one interesting quirk: for some reason, after the first fifteen episodes, the voice actors were entirely recast, sometimes giving the characters very different voices than before. For example, the dwarf Chamomile changes from a stereotypical hippie/stoner (because he works with medicinal plants, ha ha ha) into a nerdy scientist.
This is far from a traditional version of Snow White. But it's definitely an engaging expansion of the story, fleshing it out into a series full of color and creativity. I highly recommend it to fairy tale lovers!
