Caramel Chocolate Mousse
Tumblr media
It really doesn’t take heaps of ingredients (nor heaps of time) to make a truly indulgent and very satisfying dessert. Indeed this delectable Caramel Chocolate Mousse actually makes good use of egg whites, so here’s an excuse for you to make it!
Ingredients (serves 2):
115 grams/4 ounces dark chocolate
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 large egg whites
3 tablespoons caster sugar
5 tablespoons Salted Brandy Caramel
In a medium bowl over simmering water, melt dark chocolate with butter, stirring until smooth and silky. Remove from the heat. Let cool slightly. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat egg whites gradually increasing speed until soft peaks just form. Gradually add sugar, still beating on high speed, until you have a shiny and smooth meringue and stiffer peaks form. Meringue must hold, so you can turn the bowl upside down without making a complete mess!
Stir four tablespoons Salted Brandy Caramel into melted chocolate until well-blended and gorgeously shiny.
Gently fold meringue into Caramel melted chocolate until no white streaks remain.
Spoon a teaspoonful Salted Brandy Caramel at the bottom of each of two serving glasses, and divide Caramel Chocolate Mousse between each of two serving glasses. Chill in the refrigerator, at least an hour.
Serve Caramel Chocolate Mousse, drizzled with more Salted Brandy Caramel on top.

whew ok but Dean COOKING.  the first thing he learned to use his hands for other than killing things. not being able to put his love for people into words but sharing it through the food he made for them.  throwing palmfuls of salt in  pasta water instead of saving it for ghosts.  caramelizing onions, watching them turn into a buttery gold and somehow forgetting the world was coming to an end.  enjoying the sweet music of sizzling bacon on the stove and burgers searing on the grill.  baking Jody a pie after Asa Fox’s wake - spending extra time freezing the flour, chilling the butter, adding just a touch of brandy to the cherry filling because he knows that’s her favorite. making a meatloaf and sharing it with Mary, cracking jokes about where his skills came from.  coming up with gas station food recipes for Sam as a child, canned chicken, ramen, and slivered almond casserole, that botched Winchester surprise, hand-strung popcorn balls and egg nog on Christmas Day.  throwing together his favorite chili fries from the Roadhouse for movie nights, laughing about how long he begged Ellen for the recipe (Ash ended up swiping it for him).  asking Stevie to teach him how to make those perfect eggs Charlie won’t stop talking about so he can surprise her whenever she visits.  assembling a layer cake made out of bread and peanut butter and grape jelly (not jam) for the anniversary.  rage-trying to make something with kale for Sam’s birthday.  that birthday cake for Jack. a perfect fluffy Dutch baby with homemade whipped cream for Cas, to be eaten only in bed on lazy mornings.  stirring pancake batter and dropping it on a hot skillet, smiling quietly at that third one because you never get the good pancake on the first and second try.  thinking about that stupid salad Bobby liked but making fried chicken instead, because dammit he will not be caught dead making a salad.  winking at Cas while tossing tomatoes into the Ninja for salsa on taco Tuesdays.  tucking ham sandwiches in the cooler before a hunt, double-wrapped in wax paper and tin foil so they won’t get soggy.  spooning sour cream on enchiladas and telling Eileen the story of how he served them to Death, homemade. gently placing poached eggs on the plate with the same care he uses when holding a baby.  screaming son of a bitch when his hollandaise breaks, but trying again because he doesn’t give up. making literally the biggest pretzel anyone has ever seen.  recreating the turducken slammer but still feeling cautious about actually eating it.  pounding pork chops with a meat mallet while making a suggestive joke.  shedding a single man tear while looking at the excellent steak selection at the butcher counter.  a dusting of powdered sugar on his jaw and the entire kitchen floor covered in it because they HAVE to have homemade donuts for Donna’s visit to the bunker. trying to make Jody’s chicken, complaining that he can never get it *quite* right.  pulling ribs out of the oven after roasting them low and slow for hours, the scent of the sauce taking him right back to Fat Mack’s Rib Shack, across the table from Crowley.  making Jimmy Novak’s favorite recipe as a surprise for Claire because Cas told him what it was. sending a tin of scones to Hell for Rowena. taking a burrito rolling class that’s a Christmas gift from Cas despite complaining about how pointless it is and then afterwards its burritos for dinner for a week straight.  finding and eating a HOTTER pepper.  wiping his floured hands on the back of his jeans and forgetting about it until Sam scolds him for getting flour all over the couch.  learning that jambalaya recipe Benny always talked about in purgatory.  giving a soapbox dissertation on carbonara (”it’s the perfect food - spaghetti, bacon, eggs”) while Cas looks on endearingly and Sam rolls his eyes. homemade pizza for date night, over and over, never failing to mention that he “is the pizza man now,” with an appetizer of deviled eggs, presented ironically (reassuring Cas he does not ever miss Casifer). immediately rushing to the kitchen to plug in the brand new waffle iron on Christmas Day.  feeling giddy over knives that aren’t for killing but for dicing, chopping, slicing, filleting.  how he is always in the kitchen.  how Cas’s happy place when possessed by Lucifer was the Winchesters’ kitchen, Deans kitchen.  cooking keeps Dean’s hands and mind just as busy as hunting, but it’s rooted in creation and love and not destruction and revenge, and he will never admit it, but that is why it is his favorite.

Teach you how to make mulberry jam
I don't know if you have noticed the jam or grapefruit tea on the market. Not to mention the flavor, it is really a half bottle of gelatin with some pitiful fruit particles floating in it, and it is so sweet that you can't love it. In fact, DIY jam is not difficult at all, you can make a lot at one time, keep it in the vacuum glass container for a long time, and it is suitable for gifting and personal use!
Here I would like to declare that fruit is a good thing. You can eat it raw. Even if the jam is homemade, it is an unhealthy food with a high sugar content. It is just seasoned with it. I also don't approve of making expensive fruit into jam, which is a waste of money. You can make jam yourself with fruit that will go bad if you don't eat it, or a very cheap discounted fruit.
The mulberry sauce I'm going to make today. Now is the mulberry season. The maturity period of mulberries is very short, and they will be sold in two or three weeks. Fresh mulberries are delicious but not suitable for storage. - Mulberry!
After cleaning the mulberries, soak them in salt water, and the next step is the most troublesome step in the whole sauce making process - removing the stems! I underestimated the mulberry, and I thought it was enough to remove the small green stalk on it, but in fact, the stalk extends to the middle and lower part of the whole fruit! I couldn't get it out, so I had to peel it off one by one.
The utensils for making the jam are very simple: it is best to use a glass pan, which will not smell bad, and a long-handled wooden spoon. The big fruits were peeled off one by one, and there were still some small fruits left. I was too lazy to peel the stalks, so I squeezed the juice with a juicer and poured them in together (the residue was thrown away).
Bring to a boil, turn off the heat. Cover the pot and let it simmer overnight to allow the juices to gradually separate out. On the second day, the fruit became smaller and the juice became more. Pectin makes jams sticky, and some fruits are rich in pectin, such as apples and lemons. So in order to increase the pectin and flavor, I squeezed three apples with the original juicer and poured the apple juice into a bottle. In fact, lemon cores and apple cores are very rich in pectin, and they can be wrapped in gauze and put into a pot to cook together.
Then add sugar, lemon juice, and start to simmer. You can choose white sugar, rock sugar, and maltose for sugar. The latter two will make the jam more viscous. The amount of sugar depends on your taste, but the more sugar, the more viscous it is. You can also add honey, but honey cannot be boiled at high temperature, so wait for the jam to cool down before putting it on. Lemon juice is indispensable and is the key to adjusting the flavor of jams. It can be said that lemon juice should be put in all jams. For four catties of mulberries, I put the juice of about two small lemons (squeeze the lemon juice and peel it, otherwise it will be bitter).
It should be noted here that in the state of heating, you feel that the juice is still very thin, but in fact, it may be able to form jelly in the refrigerator, and the cooking time is closely related to the amount of sugar and the pectin of the fruit, so The sticky state is difficult to explain, you can scoop out a small spoon and put it in the refrigerator to see its state.
Cook until the juice becomes thick, add a little brandy to increase the flavor. There is no conclusion about what ingredients are added to the jam, and whether it matches or not is entirely up to personal taste. For example, mulberries, I think it goes well with brandy; if it's apples, I think caramel and cinnamon are essential; if it's grapes, I'll definitely add rum.
The Auto-Vacuum Glass Container supplier say that the sauce can fit into a Rectangle Easy Lift food container after it's cooked. This is due to the automatic vacuum in the vacuum crisper, and the fact that jam is a high-sugar food, even if we do not add any preservatives and do not open the lid, it will not be a problem to keep it in the refrigerator for half a year.
Today's China has long been the world's second largest consumer market and the world's largest online retail market. Consumption has become the strongest driving force for China's economic growth. Five Johnnie Walker Black Riffs on Classic Cocktails
Tumblr media
When John Walker, a young Victorian grocer in Kilmarnock, Scotland, first decided to blend and bottle local malts to ensure his customers a more consistent whisky, an enduring business model was born.
Today, his legacy has prevailed and the storied brand now offers a wide range of revered Scotches including Johnnie Walker Blue, Green, Red — and every bartender’s go-to — Black Label. For those unfamiliar, Johnnie Walker Black offers hints of white pepper and citrus on the nose, then transforms in the glass.
The liquid boasts a wide range of complex flavors, and when paired with the right ingredients, each flavor profile can be elevated. So whether you’re looking to build a cocktail with a spicy, fruity, or smoky backbone, look to versatile Johnnie Walker Black to reveal a new world of interesting cocktails.
This malleability is what has led the spirit to become every insider’s “go-to” and today, discovering new flavors is as easy as ordering your favorite drinks with Johnnie Walker Black Label. To make things easier, we’ve compiled a list of classic cocktails you can find behind any bar,  each of which will reveal an artful riff when made with Johnnie Walker Black.
Keep It Simple.
Even if you’ve never heard of a highball, you’ve likely tasted one. Behind the bar, “highballs” are usually defined as simple cocktails made by combining a spirit with one non-alcoholic mixer. Garnishes are a great way to elevate these drinks — a lemon wedge will activate the flavors in a Whiskey and Soda, while a lime squeeze will brighten up a Whiskey and Coke — but more than anything, you’ll need a quality spirit to produce the perfect highball.
Acid from citrus will always provide a burst of unexpected flavor, but another hack is to order your classic Whiskey and Ginger Ale with ginger beer. Since ginger beer has a spicier taste than ginger ale, the ginger will play off the peppery notes in Johnnie Walker Black Label and take the drink up a notch. Adding lime to this combination not only gives it all the more flavor, but also transforms it into the easily recognizable Kentucky Whiskey Mule (another popular highball).
Kentucky Whisky Mule
Ingredients
● 1 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label ● ½ ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed ● Ginger beer, to top ● Mint sprig, for garnish
Directions
1. Add Scotch and lime juice to a copper mug or highball glass. 2. Fill the mug or glass with ice and top with ginger beer. 3. Garnish with the mint sprig.
Experiment With Your Favorite Cocktails.
For those who have tasted an Añejo Old Fashioned or learned what a rich, golden tequila can do to your Margarita, this Scotch solution may just change your world view. The toffee candy and glazed pecan notes in Johnnie Walker Black label will play off the Margarita’s classic combination of triple sec, simple syrup, and lime to further elevate these flavors and create a refreshing drink you’ll want to mix year round.
More than anything, this riff on the classic shows just how varied Johnnie Walker Black Label remains and will convert even the most dedicated tequila lover to team Scotch. Pro Tip: To really wield the Scotch’s candied notes to their full potential, add a float of orange-flavored liqueur right before serving.
Whisky Margarita
Ingredients
● 1 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label ● Juice of 1 lime ● 1 ounce triple sec ● 3 ounces sweet and sour mix ● Salt, for rim ● Lime, for garnish
Directions
1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add whisky, lime juice, sweet & sour mix, and triple sec. 2. Shake until combined. 3. Pour, with the ice, into a highball or footed glass (if salting the rim, do this first). 4. Garnish with the lime wedge.
Do a Twist.
Another classic cocktail with a base that should be swapped for whisky is the Lemon Drop. Its recipe will stay roughly the same, but instead of using vodka, mix Johnnie Walker Black Label with lemon juice, an orange liqueur such as triple sec, and store-bought (or homemade!) sweet and sour to create your Lemon Drop. The Scotch’s burnt sugar notes will play off the cocktail’s usual flavors and complement a sugar rim for a truly delicious sip.
Lemon Drop
Ingredients
● 1 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label ● ½ ounce triple sec ● 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed ● 1 ounce simple syrup ● Sugar, for rim
Directions
1. Coat the rim of a cocktail glass with sugar and set aside (do this a few minutes ahead so the sugar can dry and adhere well to the glass). 2. Add Scotch, triple sec, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a shaker. 3. Shake until well chilled. 4. Strain into the prepared glass.
G&T? Meet the Scotch & Tonic.
The Gin and Tonic may just be the world’s most famous highball –– but that doesn’t mean there’s not still room for improvement. Try switching out the gin for Johnnie Walker Black Label to discover how the spirit’s signature smokiness and dark fruit notes can play off tonic water.
In truth, the success of every Gin and Tonic lies in the gin’s varied botanicals — meaning the cocktail is the perfect medium for fully tasting through everything Johnnie Walker Black has to offer. If you’re feeling adventurous, try using different flavored tonic waters to bring out different flavors in the spirit. For example, you may find a ginger- or vanilla- flavored tonic brings out caramel or honeyed notes while a tonic with a twist of lime may activate the spirit’s smokier flavors.
Whisky Tonic
Ingredients
● 1 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label ● 4 ounces tonic water ● 2 lime wheels, for garnish
Directions
1. Fill a highball glass with ice 2. Add Scotch. 3. Top with tonic water and gently stir until combined. 4. Garnish with lime wheels.
Pack a Punch.
When it comes time to batch party-perfect cocktails, try replacing the rum in a rum punch with Johnnie Walker Black Label. The liquid’s vanilla and soft grape notes will play off the punch’s fruit juices while also lending honeyed hints of dried fruits. Mix the Scotch, some of your favorite juices ( think orange juice, pineapple juice, mango juice, guava juice, and strawberry juice) plus lime juice and Grenadine, and kick back and sip your new favorite serve: Whisky Punch.
Whisky Punch
Ingredients
● 1 ½ ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label ● 1 ounce pineapple juice ● 1 ounce orange juice ● 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed ● ½ ounce Grenadine ● Brandied or Maraschino cherry and orange wedge, for garnish
Directions
1. Add Johnnie Walker Black Label, pineapple, orange, and lime juice plus Grenadine into a shaker with ice. 2. Shake until well chilled. 3. Strain into a Hurricane glass over fresh ice. 4. Garnish with a brandied or Maraschino cherry and an orange wedge.

The ingredients needed to make Beef and onion stew:
{Prepare 750 g of chuck blade, trimmed and cut into 2 in cubes.
{Get 2 tbsp of butter.
{Get 4 of large onions, sliced.
{Get 3/4 cup of brandy.
{Get 2 cups of beef stock.
{Take 3 of waxy white potatoes, cut into 1 in cubes.
{Get 1/2 lb of button mushrooms, sliced about 1/4 in thick.
{Take 10 sprigs of thyme, tied together with kitchen string.
{Prepare 1 of carrot, peeled and sliced about 1/4 in thick.
{Prepare 1 tbsp of cornstarch.
Steps to make Beef and onion stew:
Add a splash of veg oil to a large pot on high heat. Season the meat with salt and pepper and add it to the pot. Fry the beef until it's evenly browned..
Add enough cold water to the pot to cover the meat. Put on the lid and reduce the heat to medium-low. Let simmer for 2 hours until the beef is tender. Add additional water as needed during cooking to keep the beef submerged..
Carefully transfer the meat and cooking liquid into a large bowl. Add the butter to the pot and put it back on the stove on high heat. Add the onions and fry them until they're a deep, dark brown. Watch that they don't burn and scorch the bottom of the pot. Add the brandy to the pot and deglaze 2 minutes or so until most of the brandy has cooked off..
Skim the oil from the top of the beef cooking liquid, then pour the liquid into the pot of caramelized onions. Add the stock, potatoes, mushrooms and thyme. Cover and turn the heat down to medium. Simmer 15 minutes or until the potatoes are about halfway cooked. Add the carrots. Simmer another 15 minutes until the potatoes are cooked and the carrots are tender but not mushy..
