🎶Stuck in an ADHD Rut🎷🪲
Howdy! If this applies to you, let's see if we can get you out of there!
From what I have learned, the little ADHD brain creature craves happy chemicals. What usually gives us those? A sense of completion and satisfaction with our work! But those with ADHD lack a sufficient amount of baseline happy chemicals, which means it's harder for us to want to get things done!
If the reward at the end of a task doesn't give your brain enough happy chemicals, you're more likely to procrastinate!
So what are we going to do to get unstuck? If unmedicated or without therapy, it can be very difficult to work around the ADHD rut! But I can share some things that have helped me in the past.
Of course, everything I mention will not help 100%, because everyone's brains are complex and this is anecdotal!
If you are able to, find a window of time that is easiest for you to work at! I typically do my best work in the evening or at night. This isn't always the best solution, as working around a schedule is not always easy.
Crank the stimulus up to 10 if you're feeling under-stimulated/bored! Louder music, brighter lights, drink something warm... Even stretching can get the blood pumping because now you got all the bone crunches out of your system! Are you there, Brain? It's me, Bug!
When I can remember, I create a Very Detailed to-do list. But I also know that people with ADHD are notoriously bad at keeping track of lists! I tell myself, "First, write a bullet list of ideas. Second, cherry-pick what you like. Third, write the thesis/main idea. Fourth, write ONE paragraph…" This works more so for writing essays or an entire draft! For some reason, breaking down every single step makes it slightly more manageable for me.
I have heard of people who stop writing right before an interesting part and take a break! Perhaps the thrill of wanting to finish up that good part is what makes people want to jump back in.
This goes against the previous points, but sometimes writing the most interesting pieces of my stories first (as opposed to writing linearly) helps more! The burst of energy I get when reading back on these pieces drives me to continue writing! I remember how excited I was when I wrote it all down, and it makes me think that past Me was definitely onto something!
To sum up, the ADHD brain is a fussy child who needs to be constantly reminded how to get things done. The more you get angry at it, the harder it is to cooperate with it! But, that is easier said than done. No one said that gentle parenting your brain was easy.
If you made it this far, then kudos to you because writing this was a miniature hurdle of its own! And If it seems scattered, I am well aware!

Wake Up and Do Something About It
A poem about doomscrolling by Rainbowrosegames
Snapping out of my trance
Just when did the dark come out to dance?
This gaping hole in my heart
I need to make art
Or else I will break apart inside
I can't move and I don't know why
Staring at the screen
It's all things that make me feel empty
Tell me why it's so addicting
Properly is not how I'm thinking
Someone get me out!
The silence is just way too loud!
I can hear all of my sins crawling
Chores aren't done and I am dying
It is oh so late
All I can feel is my self-hate
My own mind is keeping me from crying
Why can't I get out?
I keep on hiding
There's got to be another route
I must get moving
My rewards are waiting
Ignore those evil sigils
Smash it to rubble
I can't waver
Even though everything hurts
This dumb device does not reward me
Get to the task at hand!
Enrichment is what I need
Stop reading romance!
Stimulation is not in those short doses
My attention span is dropping several notches
This is a sweet poison in my drink
It makes it hurt to think
Why on earth do we still do this?
This device does not grant any wish!
.
Trying to be better about doomscrolling ^^ doing something productive makes you feel more whole.
Personally, I get stuck (on YouTube shorts lmho) and procrastinate playing the music to do the task to, a solution for this would likely be using a phone assistant and setting a routine (I use a Google phone so I can make a custom prompt and make it play a playlist, dunno about other phones)
Work on ways to get unstuck for yourself ^^ good luck and go get something done <3

Understanding The Nature Of God
God has declared I will never get away with low vibrational sexual exploration. If I scroll for porn, if I do anything sexual with anyone, if I watch porn, I absolutely will not escape Gods wrath. I tested my luck, such as the perils of hubris. Relapsing twice is result. God is genuinely always watching me.
I need to sacrifice a better offering to the volcano. No amount of effort will be adequate once the valve has been turned. It will always end in absolute destruction and squalor. I now believe I understand that this means I must be careful with all parties, there is no more room for hope or flirtation- I can see how it all creates an introverted weakling. I refuse to stop talking to women. I grinded to get here. I know this is the year I stop masturbation and porn addiction within myself for good and become a successful person. I refuse to give up my soul. I refuse to lower my vibration. I am built in the image of the omnipotent. I can achieve any task I decide is worth my action. I am better than you. I am nothing. I am everything. I am imbedded in the awesomeness of existence. I can not be commanded by such a feeble maze.
God as my witness I will succeed where 99% will fail and I will create a product to help them reach my fucking echelon. God is always in my corner and so is he in yours. Pride isn’t the answer, it’s just a defense mechanism. But the real answer is love. Your love for God and his creations and abilities must raise your vibration and realize that porn and masturbation are tools of the devil and they are always going to monitor you and test your loyalty. I am loyal to God at all times. That is my final answer. Even on the matter of not showing up for work I will not escape Gods Wrath. I will balance my excitement like a real adult and stop leaning on extremes. This is just a normal day.
I am grateful for this lesson God so that I may understand your true nature. I wont even so much as hug a woman outside of my family. I am so grateful to be humbled by the most high. How I do one thing is how I do everything and that means I must become a thorough person that doesn’t give anything an inch lest it take a mile. Me and procrastination are destined to wage war and I will have to win every time. I atleast know now how to get 8 hours of sleep so I have a plethora of tools to help me on this purging journey. I will reclaim my honor, mid January to early March 44 days in the navy of no fap and then may-August 92 days of no fap. On January 1st I will be at 288 days out of 365 of no fap. Maybe this is the problem with me. Im doing this thing with pride. I don’t know how else to be. Let me think. I recant my declaration’s…if I take pride I will check the streak and feel dopamine.
This dopamine will fuel the turning of the valve because accomplishment fuels pride and pride fuels confidence and confidence fuels overconfidence and then we’ve reached the sun. I simply need to trust that God will protect me as I would protect myself from all threats to my conscientiousness. I wonder what will become of this hatred I have for it all. I must transmute it into love. This is how you raise your vibration. I believe I know this to be true. God please continue to guid me and help my stupid observer maze trap brain to get unstuck and get free from these silly little mini issues, my IQ is too high to be stuck in a fever dream. I uphold high moral virtue at all times even when Im not seen. That’s all for today slimes, do not procrastinate.
Attack procrastination with vigilance and reap what you sow, you are Batman and every moment if procrastination is a bad guy/evil doer. Protect Gotham at all costs! As a matter of fact attacking areas of procrastination before you even procrastinate is like earning stronger and higher potent jing.
I will not be talking to anyone from OPS nor my highschool friendgroup until 2023. So from August 2nd- January 2nd. I will communicate with coworkers and family til next year. It has to be a punishment for relapsing. It’s not free. So that’s my last point. Slimes will understand that there is even less and less realm for distraction. Retract anything I said before. Im not feminine Ni’ing this. Im not watching Netflix for any reason. I am just getting some of the junk out of my way so that I can actually be a better person. The amount of help I can be today is nothing compared to next year.
If anyone has issue with this so be it, I do not care and I am right about this. This is how you discipline yourself. Blast is rubbish. Im no longer gonna talk about anything or release any content teaching shit at all. Not until I have my own place, good credit and sustainable life. I may evolve in such a way that I no longer even want to blast through YouTube who knows. But yeah that’s all I got. Even this space will be only utilized every now and then by me, if that. I would say take care slimes but it’s delusion, no one is here because I’m not him yet. Tis fine. I’ll just work wiser. If Im not living outside of my families house by next year August 1st, 2024 I am going to record me ordering my people to beat the shit out of me and then having the shit beat out of me. This is because I must lead by example and if not I must be disciplined. The clock begins ticking now.
Actually never mind I am overreacting. This doesn’t actually solve the core issue of my low conscientiousness.

Please go away, Captain. Or at least end me. I don’t like the way you make me feel when you’re around. I can’t breathe. Please stop walking my way. Stop looking at me with those eyes.
“Y/N, I need that paperwork on my desk by five o’clock today. Not a minute late, understood?” What are you even saying? Stop looking at me like that. His brows creased with impatience at your nonexistent response. “Hey, focus, brat.” He snapped his fingers at you, making you flinch out of your daze. “Yes, Captain! Right away.” You saluted messily and paced toward the door, returning when you figured out that you didn’t know what you were ordered to do.
“What are you agreeing to, brat?” God…that delicious word was cracking your last bits of sanity. “Repeat what I ordered you to do.” Levi demanded, not having moved an inch from where he was standing. He crossed his arms in annoyance. “Um, y-you… You said to-” “I told you to jump off of Wall Maria without any gear on.” Your eyes widened, and you felt as if all the air in your lungs got punched out of you. So this was your end. This is how you die? Your Captain found your expression to be almost as funny as a shit joke. He didn’t show it on the surface, though.
“Relax, idiot. I was kidding. I want you to finish the paperwork I gave you earlier and hand it in to me by five. Pay attention, or next time it won’t be a joke.” He walked toward the door of the meeting room and turned to face you you when he heard you yelling your affirmation like an annoying parrot. “Yes, Captain! It won’t happen again!” You gave him your best salute only to have eyes rolled at you.
Levi left the room not having a clue that you almost threw up in front of him. You felt that stupid after the situation. Usually, you always felt like the rest of the world went pitch black, with only a spotlight shining on you and him, whenever he talked to you. Even when he scolded you for not doing something to his liking, you couldn’t help but focus on his devastatingly gorgeous silver eyes and how they squinted occasionally in fury, or his lips that never seemed to curve upwards and spat the ugliest words at you sometimes. It was tough love. At least that’s what you made of it.
“What happened in here? Did somebody spike the Captain’s tea? I’m very concerned.” Armin had walked into the meeting room where you stayed, replaying the conversation you just had with your handsome superior. “What are you talking about, Armin?” You ask curiously, having just seen the man acting as unfazed as always. “He smiled, Y/N. He genuinely smiled.”
You were in just as much shock as Armin was. He smiled? And I missed it?! “What were you guys talking about?” Armin sat in one of the chairs next to you. His crystal blue eyes gleamed with curiosity, wondering what was so great that it could cause the most solemn man in the scouts to crack a smile. “I zoned out while he was giving me an order, and then he told me to kill myself—not in those exact words, but, he told me to jump off of Wall Maria without any gear on. I think I made a stupid face or something, but I really thought he was ordering me to die. Then he told me the actual order.”
Armin chuckled at your retelling of the story, knowing he would have reacted the same way as Levi. “Whatever it was that you did, keep doing it! We’ve only seen Captain Levi smile once, and it’s been forever since then. Historia was crowned queen when he last smiled in front of us.” You smirked dumbly and got off the desk you were sitting on. “I’ll try my best. I gotta go, Armin. I have some paperwork to get done before Captain Levi reigns even more hell down on earth.” Armin chuckles and waves a goodbye as you leave.
It was four forty-three, and you had barely gotten anything done. With all the time you were given, you took it upon yourself to leave your work until the last minute—the procrastinating prodigy that you are. You watched everyone do their work with no thought about your own. Four forty-eight. Four fifty. Four fifty-six. Four fifty-nine. Five o’clock.
“Have you guys seen Y/N?” Levi asked Sasha, Connie, and Jean. “No, sir. She was sitting with Eren, Armin, and Mikasa when I last saw her.” Connie replied. Fucking hell, Y/N.
It was five thirty-two when you finally knocked on Levi’s door. “How nice of you to show up on time.” You heard directly inside your ear. You gasped with fear and quickly turned around. Your Captain did not look pleased at all. “Can you tell me what time it is?” You checked the clock on the wall. “Five thirty-three, sir.” Your eyes looked at everything but him. “Okay, good. Come on in.” He unlocked his office door and waited for you to walk in before slamming it shut.
You bounced slightly at the harsh sound. “You better have a damn good excuse for why my paperwork is thirty-three minutes late.” He slowly walked over to you and the stack of papers you held tightly to your chest. “Did you even do it correctly?” He snatched the stack away from you, a few papers nicking the area between your thumb and index finger. You were quick to suck on the area that bled. He looked over the work you had done, keeping the compliments he would have rewarded you with to himself. The brat is good. If only she worked faster.
“It’ll do. It’s not extraordinary work, but i’ll take it because it’s not the most important work that needed to be done.” You stopped sucking the blood from your hand and looked at him when he went silent. “Tch, use your words. Ask for a bandage or something.” He walked over to his desk and pulled out a white roll of gauze.
“Let me see.” He unstuck the beginning of the roll and returned to his spot next to you. “I can do it, sir.” You reached your undamaged hand toward the roll he held, only for him to pull it away from you. “Let me see it.” He urged, waiting for you to show him the cuts. They were surprisingly deep. You put your hand palm-up in front of you, only for him to adjust the position so that he could wrap the material around your hand correctly. The white wrapping began to turn red when it touched the blots of blood emerging from your open skin. With every layer he wrapped, less color was seen until it was just white.
Warmth was emitted through his fingers which soothed the pain in your hand a little. He let you retract your hand, watching you as you stared at the dressed wounded area. “What? Do you want me to kiss it or something?” He looked at you with an ordinary uninterested expression. Yes, please! Kiss it better. “I-I mean-“ You managed to stutter. Your cheeks flushed with heat when you realized what you had started saying. “Stop that, brat. Just stop talking.”
He walked to his desk and continued to look over the work you had done. He silently admired your considerably neat handwriting. It was as if you had typed it—the letters being all equally sized, no streaks out of line. “Right. I’m sorry.” You whispered, walking in the direction of the door. His words hit harder than usual for some reason. It was nothing to be upset about, yet you felt an unwelcome lump start forming in your throat. Maybe it’s you finally realizing that your love for him would never be reciprocated. Just being in the same room as him in that moment had you feeling more vulnerable than ever.
You mustered up the small amount of stability you had in your voice and said,”Well, if you don’t need me to do anything else, I’ll be on my way.” “That will be all.” He mumbled, not looking at you. No thank you? You saluted and left the room.
Unlike times before, Levi didn’t make your heart soar, he made it sink to the pit of your stomach, despite him touching you more than he ever has. It made you question your reasons for loving him so much. Is he worth the confusion your heart goes through when talking to the different versions of him? You’re not sure.
Weeks went by with you treating Levi like he was anyone but the person you longed to be with before. You still gave him the respect he deserved as your Captain, but you only talked to him when he talked to you or when you needed to deliver something to him from another one of your superiors. When he ordered you to do something, you would simply give him an affirmation and walk away. No small talk or questions. You didn’t smile like you usually did for him, and your heart wasn’t beating erratically when you accepted the duties he assigned to you.
Levi caught on to this act of yours when he started missing the way your doe eyes lingered on his as he talked to you. Now you would barely look him in the eyes. He missed the way you would try to make him laugh with a joke that had you in pain from laughing so hard. Now you only talked to him about work-related matters. He missed the way you stuttered after saying something dumb. Your voice is so steady now, and your words are chosen more carefully. He missed the clear adoration you had for him. He missed you.
Another day passed, and Levi had no excuse to talk to you. He didn’t have orders to give you. At that moment, he would’ve done anything to go back to when he would scowl at you as you laughed to your heart’s content. He would do anything to see you for more than two minutes. He would have taken the boring job of completing a pile of paperwork if it meant you were the one giving it to him and he would be able to brush his fingers against yours.
His head rested in his hands, frustrated with his inability to stomp on his pride and just walk over to wherever you were. He missed you so, so much, but he would never let you know that you were the best part of his days.
A knock came from the other end of his door. “Name and business.” He stated with his head still in his hands. “Y/LN Y/N, sir.” He perked up at the sound of your voice and he raised his head, quickly fixing the strands of hair that had moved out of place. “Commander Erwin asked me to get your signature for an important document.” He walked over and opened the door for you. “Come in.”
You entered his office and stood in front of his desk until further instruction. He shut the door quietly and walked to where you were.
“You can set the document down on my desk. I need to get a new container of ink. I’ll be back shortly.” He went to his bedroom, which connected to his office, and went through a drawer that seemed to have different supplies in it. He returned with a clear glass cube filled with black ink. He sat in his chair and read the document quickly before scribbling a beautiful rendition of his name onto the blank line at the bottom of the page.
“Here.” He flipped the paper so that it was upright to you. “Thank you, Captain.” You took the document and saluted. As you were about to leave, Levi’s voice stopped you in your tracks. “Y/N, can you sit for a minute?” He asked, hoping you weren’t in a rush to get those documents to Erwin.
“Of course, sir.” You answer, sitting in the chair in front of his desk.
He looked slightly sad. His eyes were completely softened, eyebrows curving inward slightly. “Why haven’t you come to see me as often as you used to?” All you could think was, does it really matter whether you see me or not? “I’ve been busy. I have duties entrusted to me by others. You are not my only superior, Captain Levi.” You were okay with giving him a piece of your mind in the most respectful way possible.
“I understand that, but why are you choosing to completely avoid me unless the subject is work?” Can you be anymore needy? “I’m not.” You simply respond. That is the ugliest lie you have ever told. You are avoiding him. You are keeping yourself busy to avoid even thinking about him.
“I see. I never took you for such a shitty liar.” You suppressed the need to roll your eyes. No answer will satisfy him until he hears what he wants to hear. “Well, i’m sorry to disappoint you, sir. I’ll try not to make a habit of it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, Commander Erwin said that this document needed to be returned as soon as possible.” You stood up from the wooden chair and saluted before exiting your Captain’s office.
The sky went dark without you realizing. You were busy all day and after the talk you had with your Captain, you were both physically and mentally tired.
As you arrived to your bedroom, not caring for the darkness that veiled your room, you let yourself fall backwards onto your bed as exhaustion creeped through your body. With your eyes closed, you lifted each of your legs and removed your boots one by one before tossing them to the ground. “Why does he suddenly care about the amount of times he’s seen me throughout the day?” You whisper to yourself as if someone would hear you.
The sound of knocking fills your ears and you pretend to have fallen asleep. “Y/N, are you in there? Are you awake?” Not now. Please. You stay silent, hoping Levi will leave you alone.
Three more knocks sound against your door. After a few seconds of complete silence, you hear the doorknob turn and the door swings open, shutting after Levi steps inside the room. “Tch, you didn’t even take your straps off.” He whispers in consideration to your ‘sleeping’ state. He sits next to you on your bed and watches your chest mimic dormant breathing. He reaches for the strap that loops around your chest and undoes the small buckle. Your chest was released and moved more freely.
By now, your act of pretending to sleep was no longer an act. You were breathing in a set rhythm through your nose.
He softly and slowly pulled your arms out of the leather that enclosed around them. You stirred a little bit before returning to the position you were in previously, on your back.
“I’m going to take care of you, my Y/N. I don’t want your skin to bruise.” He whispered while he undid your belt buckle and lowered down to work on the bands that curled tightly around your thighs. He slowly slid the rest of the leather down your calves and off completely. He got off of your bed and organized your things neatly so that you would find them easily in the morning.
“Y/N.” Levi called, shaking you softly by your arm. When you didn’t respond, he tried again. You opened your eyes slowly and squinted, furrowing your brows when you noticed someone else was there with you. “What?” You grumble, annoyed at the inability to go back to sleep. “Sorry, I need to talk to you.” That voice. You tried to spring up off the bed to salute respectfully to your Captain.
He grabbed your forearms and brought you back down to your bed. “Calm down. You don’t have to be so formal after hours.” You weren’t even asleep ten minutes, yet the drowsiness embodying you was extreme.
“Do you want me to light a candle? It’s pretty dark in here. I wasn’t expecting you or anyone else to come see me this late.” “No. I think the dark will allow courage to seep through me better.” You raised a brow in confusion. “Courage? Since when do you lack courage, Captain-“ “Levi. Just Levi between us.” “Le..vi?” He nodded with reassurance. “Since when do you lack courage in anything, Levi.”
He put his hand on your shoulder, surprised when you tensed up against the contact. He didn’t pull his hand away at the gesture, though. “I hate having to admit that I have a weakness for you, believe me, but you’re invading my thoughts every day, all the time.” This isn’t like you, Captain.
“I’m not adjusting well to this change between us. I miss the way you used to be with me. Even when I didn’t reciprocate the energy you gave off, you always managed to make feel better inside. Now that you’ve distanced yourself from me, I feel even more dead inside than usual.” His fingers stroked the fabric on your shoulder of your white button-up shirt.
“I can’t be that way with you anymore. It took me a while to realize that we’re not here to make relationships that last forever. We have the hardest job anyone could ask of us—saving humanity.” You sighed, thinking of a way to prevent yourself from hurting his feelings. “Though the thought of having you by my side is delightful, I don’t think I can go back to worshiping the ground you walk on like I did before. Our relationship should remain that of superior and subordinate.”
Levi’s head lowered. The agony he was feeling in his chest was excruciating. This last attempt to get you was sadly his final one.
“Then I have one final request.” You couldn’t help but wonder what he would want from you that he can’t get from anyone else. “Can I kiss you?” His hand that was set on your shoulder slowly made it’s way to caress your cheek. His eyes softened at the familiar look in your eyes that peered into his soul. Though you felt you should have removed his hand from the side of your face, the warmth was comforting.
“If you don’t feel anything, I promise I’ll swallow my feelings for you and leave you be. We’ll be strictly comrades, no emotional feelings involved.” He swiped your soft skin with his thumb, eyes locking with yours as he seeks a response that isn’t developed yet.
Finally. “Only once.” You whisper. He nods in acknowledgement of your instruction. His left hand attaches to your waist while his right finds your cheek again. You tremble at the foreign feeling of someone’s touch on a part of you that wasn’t an arm, a shoulder, or your back. His eyes never left yours as he slowly leaned in. God, he smelled so good. The aroma was dangerously attractive. You hoped to never come across someone that smelled the same way, that way his smell would only make you think of him.
The closer he got, the deeper his fingertips dug into your side, as if trying to pierce holes through your shirt to feel your skin.
Darkness, light—you saw both somehow. The entanglement of lips on lips was a good feeling that both of you felt mutually. He held on for as long as he could, not wanting this moment to ever end. After all, this is the first, and possibly the last time he would ever be this close to you again.
You tried to break the kiss but struggled to when you felt Levi pulling you back to connect again. It wasn’t enough for him. It was never going to be enough.
“Le..v…” You murmured indistinctly, stopping the movements from your lips completely. “No. Please…” He mumbled against your lips continuing his one-sided kiss.
It felt desperate, which was strange coming from a man like Levi who’s never begged for anything from anyone. “Come on. Kiss me.” He said with his lips pressed against yours. The feeling was undeniably good. It brought life back to the heart that stopped longing for specifically his affection.
You started moving your lips again, synchronizing quickly. His bangs tickled your forehead, causing your lips to twitch upwards.
He picked you up and placed you on his lap. Just as you were about to reach for his hair, he broke the kiss.
“I want to touch your skin, Y/N. Not in an inappropriate manner, I just need proof that this isn’t just another one of my dreams. I can’t risk going insane over another night of me just fantasizing about being your one. This shirt is the only thing standing between my hands and your soft skin—reality. I won’t touch you like that if you don’t want me to, though. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.” His mouth said something, but as always, his eyes said something else. They were begging for you to allow him to feel you. His hands rested on your hips. Maybe this was going too far. What if you did let him touch your bare skin, and it progressed into something inappropriate?
With that single doubt in your mind, you responded to his request with,“Unbutton my shirt, then.” The light in his eyes was shining brighter than you had ever seen. He was visually shocked at your consent. It was clear that he was grateful to have you that night in his hold.
His hands lowered to where your shirt tucked into your pants and pulled out the fabric. Before he could move onto the buttons, he searched your expression for any signs of doubt or uncertainty. None that he could see—you were that good at keeping your thoughts to yourself.
He undid every button, not missing his chance to sneak in a brush of his fingertips here and there, on your collar bone or your sternum.
Soon enough your shirt was left wide open, revealing your black bra and newly formed goosebumps brought on by the cold wind. You turned away from Levi, flustered by his eyes on your exposed torso.
He tugged on one of the loose halves of your shirt, signaling for your attention. “Eyes on me.”Goosebumps resurfaced your skin when his knuckles brushed against your stomach. “You’re beautiful.” His soothing voice assured you as his eyes explored the unknown sight.
You were brought close once again, his lips dying to return to where he knew they belonged. Goosebumps rampaged through your body as he pulled your body closer to him by your waist. The feeling of his hands wrapped around your bare sides was absurd. You were now up against his chest. His hands traveled from your sides to your back to keep you pushed against him.
If you had to remain like this for the rest of your life, you’d do it in a heartbeat, if possible, less time.
Though it wasn’t meant to be sexual, he was leaving you breathless—quite literally. His touch made your heart pound in your chest, which he surprisingly didn’t feel, even with you pressed so tightly against him. By the sound of it, he was breathless as well.
“Mmm…Levi.” You mumbled. “Hmm?” He hummed not stopping his lips from devouring yours. “We have…to…mmm...breathe…at some point.” He snickered, smiling slightly, giving you the chance to break your lips away from his. You were able to see a slight shade of pink on his cheeks in the moonlight. Whether it was from the suffocation or the steamy moment remained a mystery.
Soft pants came from both of you, and though he let go of your lips, you weren’t fully released from his grasp. His ring and middle fingers on each hand poked at your back dimples, while his thumbs did light circular motions on the sides of your abdominal area.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, eyes glistening in the moonlight.
“I need to know what you intend to do with me, Captain. From now to…” You sigh heavily, not finding it as easy as you thought it would be to fit this conversation into the moment after what had just gone down.
Levi picks up on how tense you’ve become, seeing how stressed you suddenly look. “Hey, I’m going to listen to every word you have to say. I’m all ears, right now.” He squeezes your waist gently.
“Okay, what i’m trying to say is…I don’t want to have to mend my wounded heart every time you push me away.” You look toward the window, looking at how a cloud slowly moves in a direction that makes it collide with another cloud. To be honest, it kind of reminded you of you and Levi. The way your lives collided with each other’s, then separated, only to find each other again.
He held your chin softly between his thumb and index fingers, shifting your gaze back to him. He didn’t say anything but nodded for you to keep going. “I also don’t want to have to apologize for fulfilling my everyday duties that can lead to days of not being able to see you.” His hand released your chin and returned to the spot it was on previously, your side. It was as if he was comforting you and himself at the same time. He was hoping you wouldn’t get off, leaving him incomplete without your body weight on him.
You did exactly as he feared, almost as if you read his mind. You wanted this conversation to be as serious as possible, no distractions. You released your grasp on his shoulders and slowly began lifting yourself off of his lap. He subconsciously began letting go of your body, until he caught himself and tightened his grip, bringing you back to where you were, on his lap.
“Levi? What are you-“ “I want—no, I need you, Y/N. You know how bad it’s been on my end since you stopped talking to me like we’re the two closest people on earth? It’s been hell. Fucking hell.” His hands brushed past your sides and pushed on your back, bringing you to an embrace. Your chin landed on his shoulder and his face nuzzled into your neck. Your arms stayed by your side contrary to his which wrapped around you, brushing past the straps of your bra and settling on your upper back. You felt breaths of hot air tickle your neck as he kept talking.
“You have no clue how sad I’ve been. This is what I need from you. I don’t care if it’s something occasional. I don’t care if I only get to see you once a week, month, or year. I don’t fucking care at all. I just want you, Y/N. Please. Please, just hold me.” You could hear his calm breathing close to your ear. You lifted your arms and wrapped them around him. One hand caressed the back of his head, and the other held the mid-section of his back.
He was breathing in your scent discreetly. Black hair tickles your bare shoulder, exposed by your sagging button-up shirt. You ran your fingers through his locks of hair, smoothing down any strands that stood out.
“This feels right.” He mumbled before placing a gentle kiss to the side of your neck. “I want to feel your heartbeat and your warmth against me like this whenever I can.” His lips continued to brush against your skin slowly.
Minutes went by, not a word was spoken. When you tried to escape his caging hold to continue your conversation, he would just pull you close again nuzzling back into your neck. He was being really clingy tonight—not that you were complaining, it was just a odd.
“We can keep talking like this.” He mumbled. “Okay.” You whispered running your hand across his undercut.
“Are you sure you want a relationship where we won’t have every minute of the day together? I know it’ll be hell for me.” You could feel him smiling slightly against your neck. “Yes, Y/N. I know we won’t have much time in the day together, but we haven’t been taking nights into consideration.” Goosebumps crawled throughout your body when you felt his lips latch onto your neck again.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Shit. Shit. Shit. Relax. “I’m willing to be even more nocturnal for you. I also wouldn’t mind waking up next to you every morning.” He dragged his thumb across the damp spot on your neck where his lips rested before. “That s-sounds good.” You stutter noticeably. “What’s wrong?” He holds your face in his hands, clearly unable to fake concern. A smirk tugs at his lips. This man knows what he’s doing.
“Nothing. I’m okay.” You assure with a soft smile. “Okay, just making sure. You know…” He starts leaning in again, aiming for your neck. He knows your weak spot now, and you can’t even hide it.
“…I really like…” He kisses the sensitive skin lightly, basking in the way you shudder. “…spending time with you like this. How about you?” As you open your mouth to answer, he leans in again.
“I…fuck.” You grab onto his arm as he nibbles on the flesh that became more and more sensitive with every second that his lips spent on it. “Hmm?” He hummed against your skin. “I didn’t catch that.” He tilted your head to his left to give him more room. More room to litter you with his markings. “I do…” You inhale sharply when he bites the area under the bruising skin he just sucked on. “…too.” He soothes the imprinted skin with his index and middle fingers.
“Good. Tell me, sweet girl, what’s your favorite time of day?” The movement of his fingers slowed, as he pressed gently on the sore parts. His gaze focused intensely on your peaceful features as sighs escaped your lips with every delicate prod of his fingers. He hoped you would say nighttime, knowing he wouldn’t be able to give you all the daytime with him that you wished for. Also, nighttime would be the time he would spend with you, making sure you were feeling every good thing you could feel. Happiness, pleasure, excitement, pleasure, love, satisfaction, security, domination, care, submission. You know? The good things.
“Nighttime. That’s my favorite time of day.” He smiled, satisfied with your answer. “It’s my favorite now, too.” The movement of his fingers on your neck stopped. He looked outside at the moon, remembering the important work he left behind when he decided to look for you. “I should get going.” You frowned slightly which he quickly took notice of. “I know, I wish I didn’t have to, but I ditched a lot of my work to come find you.”
You dragged your thumb across his half-swollen lips before closing the space between you two and kissing him once more. You released him and said in a whisper,“I understand. Thank you for being here with me tonight.” You got off of his lap and transitioned to a cross-legged position on your bed. He caressed your cheek in an endearing manner, before saying,”I’m glad things are the way they are for us now.” He let you go, and began walking to your door. You fixed your shirt so that you looked presentable again.
“Levi, wait.” “Yes?” He asked, holding onto the doorknob. “Did you take the straps from my uniform off of me?” He let out a low chuckle. “Yes, I did. They would have bruised your beautiful skin if I hadn’t taken them off.” “I could have done it myself, but thank you for that.” You felt cared for. It was such a soft concept to think about. He nodded and continued his exit, a small smile on his face as he shut the door behind him.
I’m the only one who should be wrapped around you and leaving marks in those areas at night.

A bit of self-criticism here, because I need to keep myself accountable and if I write this in a paper journal I will just forget:
I wasn’t able to get anything done yesterday. Not only that, but through inaction I encouraged my loved one to procrastinate with me. I had intentions to study and write and do a couple of other things, but couldn’t get myself unstuck from a couple of games... As soon as I logged out of the one I let myself get pulled into the other one. I’m very frustrated with myself and ashamed not only of losing time but letting it affect somebody else. No one here needed this and I’m very sorry about it.
The worst thing is I could see this coming! I know myself, and I know how it is when I get into a video game. When I was more of an insufferable asshole, I used to tell myself that video games were beneath me, but this is the real reason I avoid them.
I need to be more disciplined and lay down some basic rules:
Stop playing Game 1 altogether -- its achievement system was designed to be addictive -- it’s never a good sign when you pass a hundred levels in just a couple of days
Set a timer for playing Game 2 for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.30, 2 hours maximum -- play a couple of times a week, not every day -- 2 hour sessions should be considered a reward or a treat, not the norm

Good Shot
A/N: I’m procrastinating, have a thing.
Edward Elric did not consider himself a traumatized person, and he did not think of his childhood as particularly traumatic. Despite this determination, the trauma of his youth was both objectively true and patently obvious to anyone with a brain. Edward’s brain no longer noticed. The tumultuous Amestris of yesteryear was, for better or for worse, the world that had raised him. That fact was as comfortable around his memories as an old, worn coat, a coat that needed a wash and a patch and was two sizes too small, but was too familiar to go about replacing. In short, he was used to it.
Maybe that was why, when he arrived at work one blustery afternoon to find his place of business swarming with a fully armed battalion, Edward Elric only yawned.
“Aw, hell,” he said to no one in particular. Final grades were due in seventy-two hours and he hadn’t even gotten started yet. Ahead of him, the Alchemy Building of Central University loomed large against a snow-heavy sky. All around the front steps, a throng of people gathered, held at bay by a line of blue-uniformed soldiers. Was a it a fire? A flood? Both meant water, and water meant smudged ink and desecrated paper, and that meant his final grades wouldn’t be in on time.
But why the military? Slowly, like a rising wail, bomb sirens filled the air.
“Damnit.” His icy sigh hung in the air and whirled apart was he stepped through it to march into the crowd.
“This is outrageous! The whole building?” Edward couldn’t see the man’s face, but judging from the prodigious height of his white quaffed hair, he was willing to bet it was the Dean.
“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to step back, we need to keep everyone at a safe distance,” replied an anxious-looking warrant officer.
“On what grounds? What is this all about?”
“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to-”
“I will have you know that I run this college, young man, I demand to know why you’ve commandeered my-”
“Excuse me, Professor Elric?” Ed turned to see a half dozen of his students huddled in coats and mittens, craning their necks like geese to get a better view of the front steps. One called Mary was asking him. “Do you know what’s going on?”
Ed glanced back at the Warrant Officer and the Dean. Their tiff seemed to have drawn attention from a nearby lieutenant, who was making her way over to intervene.
“No, but whatever it is I hope it wraps up quick, I have work to do.”
“I’ll say,” one of the students, Josef, laughed and blew into his mittens for warmth. “Do you think Dr. Wolfgar will fail me if I miss my final because of a military occupation?”
“Military occupation?” Teased the slightly older Henrietta, “What, do you think this is some kind of coup d’etat?”
“Oh please,” Edward found himself saying. “Last time we had a coup, Central Command was nearly erased from the map; this is just a university building. If they’re trying to do anything big, they should blow something up first.” He thought he’d been being funny, but amid the sirens, his students had fallen uncomfortably quiet. Edward sighed, annoyed by the reminder that even for college students, his humor was dark. “Whatever,” He said. “I don’t have time for this.” He elbowed his way through the crowd.
“Dr. Elric? What are you going to do?” Josef asked. He glanced at his classmates, and then followed after their professor. The others fell into step behind him, so that unbeknownst to him, Edward had a trail of six college students following him like a mother duck.
“Lieutenant,” he spoke above the chatter of the crowd. “Excuse me, lieutenant,” he waved. The lieutenant looked wearily in his direction and marched over with practiced indifference.
“Yes sir?”
“I’m going inside,” he stepped to the front of the crowd. She reached out a hand to stop him.
“Sir, for your safety, I cannot allow you to go any further, we need to-”
“I said I’m going inside,” Edward repeated, digging around in his pocket until he could find his silver watch. He held it out. Scratched and worn, the dragon sparkled in the overcast sunlight.
“-ssor Elric is a state alchemist?!” he heard Mary say.
After a brief hesitation, the lieutenant’s demeanor transformed. She stood to attention and saluted.
“Sir!”
“Now tell me what’s going on.” He stepped further up the stairs without her stopping him.
“Sir,” she turned toward him, away from the civilians, and spoke quietly: “Central Command intercepted multiple threats against this campus early in the AM. Three separate witnesses reported seeing at least one suspicious person enter the building through a window. We’re not sure who they are, what weapons they have with them, or what their intent is. Our General has advised severe caution.”
“And who is your general? Is it Mustang?” Edward asked, purely out of curiosity.
“Major General Mustang, yes sir.”
“Oh is that what they’re calling him these days,” Ed grumbled over his shoulder. “Alright, well, anything happens, we’ll just blame him.” The lieutenant seemed unsure how to take this. “Thanks. And sorry about the Dean - he can be a bit of a dick, though you didn’t hear that from me.” He began up the steps.
“You’re the Fullmetal Alchemist, aren’t you, sir?” She asked.
“What about it?”
After a moment of thought, the lieutenant unholstered one of her two pistols. “Sir,” she offered it or him. “Just in case.”
Edward looked at it, and at her, and shrugged. “Fine,” he took it.
“Hey, we’re with him,” Josef was arguing with the warrant officer, trying to following Edward up the steps.
“No they’re not,” Edward turned and fixed them with the same look he used on his children. He pointed with the hand that wasn’t holding a gun. “You stay right there, all of you. Do what the lieutenant says.” All of the students’ eyes followed his hand as he shoved the gun into his coat pocket. “If Wulfgar gives you an F, I’ll deal with the registrar myself.”
Edward Elric jogged up the steps, digging around his pockets for his keys. Behind him, his students watched in confusion and awe.
“Did she say Fullmetal Alchemist?” said Henrietta.
“Yeah,” said Josef. “Why?”
Henrietta’s face moved in stages from confusion to realization to open incredulity. “Holy shit.”
Once inside, Edward brushed snow off his coat, rubbed some heat back into his hands, and flipped through his ring of keys. The jingling drew unexpected attention.
“Edward?”
He looked up to see the frowning, serious face of Riza Hawkeye marching down the hall.
“Oh, hey, Captain! Good to see you,” Ed grinned as if they’d just bumped into each other at a cafe. He fiddled with the lock on his door. “Didn’t know it was your men they’d sent over this way. How are you?”
Riza was unmoved. “Edward, what are you doing in here?”
“I work here,” he unlocked his office door, jimmied the handle, and slammed his shoulder against the door. It came unstuck and squeaked open. He switched on the lights.
“Oh good,” the disorganized heaps of paper were exactly how he’d left them, untouched by water or fire. “Diane would have killed me.” He opened his briefcase and began shovelling papers into it with one arm. Riza stood by the door, holding a pistol ready at her side, casting looks over both shoulders.
“We have a secure perimeter, how did you get in here?”
Ed held up his watch and dangled it until she looked. “The lieutenant let me in.”
“Edward, you can’t just…” but she knew that, technically, he could. Technically, he still outranked her. “We’re in a bit of a situation, you can’t just sit here and grade papers.”
“I know, I know,” Ed leaned on top of his briefcase to force it closed. It squeaked, so he put more weight onto it until it snapped shut, leather bulging. “Don’t worry about me, I’m prepared,” he reached into his pocket and brandished his borrowed pistol. Riza started.
“Where did you get that?”
“The lieutenant. She seemed worried when she heard who I was. Kinda rude, if you ask me. What have you been telling them about me?” He shoved it back into his pocket and held a small remaining stack of papers in his teeth while he put his gloves back on.
“Do you have your things?” Riza asked, ignoring the question. “I’ll escort you out.”
“Hhh-ine,” Ed grumbled around the homework. He rolled them up and put them in a pocket. “If anything else gets destroyed, I’ll direct the Dean to you.”
Riza called up two sergeants to cover her post while she escorted Edward to a side entrance of the building.
“Make sure Lieutenant Fletcher gets her pistol back, she shouldn’t have given it to you in the first place. She’ll be in a lot of trouble if it goes missing.”
“It’s not missing, it’s with me,” Edward retorted.
“Well in any event, I’m going to have to reprimand her anyway. She can’t just hand out her firearms just because you can’t do alchemy. Ed?” Pistol still at the ready, Riza paused and turned. Edward had frozen in the middle of the hallway. All traces of his carefree fatigue had evaporated, replaced by the kind of instinctual alarm that had helped him live to adulthood.
“Edward?” Riza called.
Ed was looking down an abandoned hall of classrooms, eyes fixated on room 103. Its door, like several of the other classrooms, was cracked just ajar. Unlike the other classrooms, there was a light on the other side of the door.
“Did you search these rooms?” He asked suddenly, not turning to look at the captain.
“Yes, when we arrived an hour ago.”
“Did you search them again?”
“What?”
Ed ignored her, and walked carefully down the hall. Riza hesitated to follow him. She heard his pistol’s safety click off.
“Edward?” She edged toward the hallway, and peaked around the corner. Ed stood in the doorway of classroom 103, silhouette framed by an ethereal blue light. Lightning seemed to crackle from within the room. Alchemy.
“Shit!” Edward practically fell backward, slamming the door shut. “Out! Out! Everybody out!” he shouted. Riza was holding up her gun, ready to shoot whoever was in pursuit, but there was no one. Edward passed her toward the door. He did a double take when he realized she wasn’t following him. “Lieutenant,” he called her out of habit, “move!” He grabbed her by the back of her collar and yanked her out of the hall right as the explosion went off.
Seconds or minutes later, Edward looked up from the ground to see Riza shouting orders at her men. She was bleeding from her temple but looked no worse for wear, a gun in her hand and angry as hell. He could not hear what she was saying, and became increasingly aware that one or both of his eardrums must’ve burst, leaving his head ringing. His hands ground against drywall and plaster dust as he pushed himself upright. A figure ran in front of him. They were not in military blue. They were not in university dress. They did, however, have chalk in one hand and a transmutation circle tattooed on the other.
“Lieutenant,” Edward tried to say, but coughed. “That’s the… it’s the same circle, he’s,” he coughed again, and realized no one was going to hear him. “Damnit,” he slurred, unable to hear himself except the part of the voice that echoed in his bones. With difficulty, he rose to his feet, using his briefcase to shield himself from falling rubble as he jogged toward the front door.
There were military personnel everywhere, running and shouting with guns drawn. Most of the crowd had the sense to run, too, but some lingered, unsure of what to do or where to go. Amid the crowd, Edward spotted a man running away sans coat, sans scarf, covered in plaster dust with a circular tattoo on the back of his hand.
“There!” he pointed. “That’s him, there, there!” He jogged down the steps and almost slipped. No one seemed to be listening. He’s going to get away, damnit. “Lieutenant!” But neither Hawkeye or Fletcher were there to hear him. His ears rang, his eyes stung with cold, there was blood tickling his face, he felt like he was going to be sick. The terrorist looked back at him, saw him, and ran faster. Edward’s hands twitched, itching to clap together and bring this bastard down by force. He felt a weight in his pocket. He grabbed it.
“Josef!” He yelled, spotting his student in the way. He leveled his gun. “Get down, now!”
Josef fell to the ground. The trigger offered more resistance than he’d expected. Kickback. An unexpected burst of red, and the terrorist fell to the ground. After a moment, the figure stirred and clutched at his injured knee, which leaving a bloody red pool on the ground. Military swarmed, and Edward fell back into a seat on the stairs so he could hold his head and wait for the world to stop spinning.
After his hearing began to come back somewhat, he found Lieutenant Fletcher. “You did not give this to me,” Edward told her, holding up her pistol with a single finger.
“Sir?”
“I abused my authority and took this from you, understand? It’s my fault, not yours. I’m going to surrender this to your Captain, she and I will handle it from there.”
“Y-yes sir,” the lieutenant said, and then glanced at either side of his face. “Sir, you need medical attention.”
Edward looked down at himself, and realized he’d ruined his best winter coat by bleeding all over it. “Oh,” he said. His ears had even bled onto the essays stuffed into his pocket. “Great.”
They had the university open two days later, but they’d siphoned off the alchemy classes to the math and geography buildings while they cleaned up the carnage. Edward’s left ear would be healing from a perforated eardrum for the next several weeks, but with his right, he could hear the chatter in the halls:
“I heard he used to be a student here,”
“Ex military?”
“Angry about the reinstatement of Ishval,”
“Targeted against General Mustang, I think,”
“My mom says she’s been worried about something like this happening…”
“Something about the Fullmetal Alchemist?”
“Change, of course people will be angry. But this?”
“Seems a bit drastic.”
“Fullmetal who?”
“That’s what they called him - he was joking about a coup d'etat!”
Edward pushed open his classroom door, and the chatter stopped. He dumped out his briefcase onto his desk and shuffled through its contents. He scratched at his forehead beneath the large bandage that ran over his ear. Most of the essays were already in alphabetical order, but there were four unfortunate outliers.
“Uh, Tasha,” he climbed up to where Tasha Miller sat in her usual seat on the third row. He tried to ignore how everyone else watched him. “I’m very sorry, I wasn’t able to grade your entire essay, I uh…” he was speaking quietly, as he always did with students about assignments, but the hall was unnaturally silent today. “Part of it got, uh, part of it got blood on it, but,” he quickly  reassured her, misunderstanding her horror for disgust, “I was able to retype it, hopefully my comments are helpful, you seem to have a good understanding of the topic.” He scratched at his bandage again. “Good work.” He shuffled through the three other re-typed essays in his arms. “Martin Kovacheck? Oh, there you are. You guys need to stop swapping seats on me.” He laughed. He was the only one who laughed.
He moved around the room in an apologetic round before they moved onto the lesson. As he gathered up the regular essays to distribute to the class, his right ear caught wind of a frantic whisper:
“No, not about Tuesday, I meant the coup d'etat. With Mustang. He was there.”
Edward had a feeling he wasn’t going to hear the end of this.
“Well, sir,” said Josef quietly, when Edward went to return his graded essay, “They blew something up, all right.”
Ed felt his ear throbbing. “Yeah, I guess they did.”
Josef smiled as if it were a joke, and Edward realized that it was his humor that the boy was absorbing. His heart weighed him down.
“You’re not too bad a shot for someone who doesn’t like guns.” Roy Mustang signed his name, flipped the page, and signed again. Flip. Sign. Flip. “If I issue you your own firearm, this won’t be so much of a headache next time.”
Edward Elric scowled at him. “There won’t be a next time.”
“Really?” Roy didn’t look up. Sign. Flip. “Winry called me earlier and asked me if I thought you needed a gun, after what happened. She also told me that dry cleaning isn’t going to save your coat.”
“What are you doing calling my wife on a Friday afternoon? You know, sometime you could try minding your own damn busine-”
“She called me, Fullmetal.”
Edward scowled harder. His ear was healing but ached terribly. He sulked, and signed the forms that Roy shoved to his side of the desk. “No guns,” he said. “The last thing I need is another reason for my students to ask me about Back Then.”
Roy paused in his signing. Resumed. “Oh?”
“They want me to guest lecture in the history department. The History Department. We’re history now, apparently.”
Roy chuckled. “You should be flattered.”
“I’m pissed off.”
“And why’s that?” Roy passed him another round of paperwork. Edward was staring at nothing. It took him a moment to take the paper.
“Because it’s not history. It was my life.” He scribbled out his signature.
Roy smiled to himself. “I know how you feel.”
It wasn’t the sort of conversation Edward was wont to have with the General, and he didn’t want that to change. “Do you.” Sign. Flip. Sign.
“You’re not the first person to live through a war. You’re not the first alchemist to do horrible things and regret it.”
Edward looked up at him, and they made eye contact for a few fleeting seconds. They turned back to their paperwork. Sign. Flip. Sign.
“I was just a kid,” Ed said quietly, irritably.
Roy was quiet for several beats. “Yeah.” Flip. Flip. Flip. Sign. Flip. He glanced up at Edward. “So are you going to sit in that chair and mope about it? Or are you going to move forward?”
For the briefest of moments, he was eleven years old again, but this time he was much bigger and far, far more tired.
“You don’t have to tell them anything you don’t want to, you know,” said Roy. “You’ve already pissed off half of the Central U faculty, from what I hear. What’s one more department?” Flip, flip, sign.
“Yeah, I guess,” Edward said, taking the papers and signing them without reading them. Flip. Flip.
“If they don’t let you off the hook, direct them to me. I can guest lecture, if they want the real story. Heaven only knows what lies you’d tell them.”
Edward thought he was joking, and laughed. “Thanks.”
“I’m not joking,” Roy told him, and waited until Edward looked up to add, “Really. If they push the issue, just give me a call.”
Edward was not used to tone of compassion in the General Bastard’s voice. It wasn’t comfortable like the taboos of alchemy and the sounds of gunfire. He did his best to ignore it.
“Thanks.”
“Of course.” Sign. Flip. Flip. Sign. Date. Flip.
“God, this is a lot of paper,” Ed complained.
“Then get your own gun, Fullmetal.”
“Would you get off my back.”

Ok so if I were to write a guide on some aspect of writing which would be a topic that interests you most?
-How to write erotica (Even if you've never had sex.)
-How to figure out dialogue (and make your characters all have their voice not yours.)
-Establishing a setting that stands out.
-How to brainstorm ideas effectively.
How to stop procrastinating for various types of procrastinators (with a bonus on how to relax appropriately without feeling guilt.)
-How to write a villain that makes you skin crawl and your mouth water. (You know the ones and I love to write them.)
-Whatever else you're struggling with.
Why I like getting asked these questions is because when I reach a successful explanation for a person I'm doing something I'm very good at:teaching. And by teaching I'm learning it better myself and it helps me get unstuck myself or even just have different perspectives.
So help me help you, won't you? :)
There are more questions and writing topics I could expand upon. If you have one feel free to send it. Please reblog or comment or send an ask

Today was a friend’s 60th birthday party and back when it was originally planned I was asked to make a cake for it. I was delighted to do so and have been looking forward to it. I had a plan early on since I know my friend likes owls and I had seen a ‘make an owl out of Fimo’ tutorial in the past that had looked cool and could be repurposed to fondant.
Then we had this week. With its exciting temperatures. The idea of baking, turning the oven on and making my kitchen even hotter, was a bit intimidating. I put off the baking but knew I couldn’t delay the owl in case it didn’t work out like I wanted.
Thursday evening was owl time. Reinspection of the tutorial said that they had put the colour into the wings by painting it on afterwards, but I’d previously assumed it had been inherent in the Fimo, so that’s how I did it, mixing chocolate fondant with normal white fondant to get a nice beige body and then beginning the same process for the wings but stopping mid-mix to get variegated fondant from which to slice the feathers. 67 feathers later and a bit of other modelling and I had my owl.
Friday I took the day off work to make the cake, and also to procrastinate on making the cake. The procrastination was unplanned but hey ho. I finally baked what was intended to be half of the cake, a big vanilla tray bake using 3 times my normal Victoria sponge recipe. The plan had been to cut this in half to make a double layer vanilla half cake and then repeat the process with a chocolate cake so I’d end up with a half and half cake to suit all palates. However as I poured the mix into the tin I decided I’d miscalculated. I should have made only twice the amount of batter as if I did it this way I’d end up with enough cake for 60-70 people and given the expected headcount was about 20 that seemed a bit excessive. I scaled back to just the vanilla cake.
The plan was to put the owl on top of a painted background, which meant the top needed to be coated in fondant. However I don’t really like the taste of fondant so it needed to be a thin layer of fondant on top of a good layer of buttercream. This year’s top baking-related purchase was a Wilton measuring mat - a very large sheet of non stick plastic with measuring markings on that allowed me to roll out a huge thin layer of fondant that Phil then helped me apply to the cake.
Food colour dissolved in vodka was then used to paint the top of the cake and it was time to add the owl. At that point things came a bit unstuck as the wings broke off and some of the feathers snapped and I was a bit freaked. However I was able to repair it in situ and when we transported it today (carefully, on my lap all the way in the car) everything stayed together.
Achievement unlocked.

thanks to SOMEBODY I got sucked into this ship. welp, time to stop procrastinating I guess.
Rated: T (language, suggestive content)
synops: six just HAD to open his big metal mouth over the anthromorph's minor untidiness.
walking through the already opened double door's of the dark bedroom, six heard a light squishing sound from underneath his boot.
"you REALLY gotta start cleaning up your shit." he grimaced, lifting his shoe to find a sticky blue spiderweb underneath it glowing in the dark. infact there were many of them all over the room that lead to a trail to the culprit of these webs.
"i'll do that once you start throwing your gum away and not putting it under chairs like some delinquent high school student." yakumo replied back, laying on a much larger spider web that was connected to a wall as if it were a hammock.
slowly pealing the web off the bottom of his boot six sharply looked back at him. "hey! I stopped after a week into this job. can't hold that against me forever."
"you still do it occasionally. don't think I don't notice."
"tch! with what? the six extra set of eyes on ya?"
yakumo rolled his eyes at him as six flicked the small web away before continuing. "besides you have no reason to keep making these all around the place. we don't have any enemies to step on these and get trapped. your wasting your powers."
there was a bit of silence before yakumo spoke up. "so you believe I should be using these to catch my prey hm?"
"uh....yes?" six replied unsure of what he was talking about. he skipped away however at a loud sticky sound. looking down he saw a new web close to his foot. "what're you-"
"your the prey~."
a shiver went up six's spine as he took a few steps slowly back before bolting out of the room. running down the hall he kept hearing webs shooting at him, thankfully missing at every chance.
turning the corner he felt like he had the advantage of getting out of this...until his foot almost made him trip. saving himself he looked down to find he had stepped on a web. trying to pry it off a web was shot ontop of his foot. looking at the end of the hall stood the web wielder.
as he walked down the hall intimidatingly the younger attempted to get himself unstuck, only to get another web ontop of his other foot. why were they so strong?!
"what the hell are you-" six started before getting interrupted by an abrupt pull on both his arms. looking he found they had strong silk wrapped around his wrists, yakumo holding onto it and keeping his wrists held tight together.
struggling at the binds six's grunts were left unheard as yakumo was finally infront of him. ...sometimes he really did forget how tall this guy was.
he sighed exasperatedly. "fine you caught me. ya happy now? I learned my lesson so fuck-" his lips were interrupted by the other's lips on his. his eyes widening as his breath hitched at the sudden action till the other pulled away.
"you have a way of running your mouth a lot six." he stated, pulling the other's shoulders above his head as he ducked down to his level. "not like I'd mind it but it can be a bit of a nuisance." he continued, switching hands to put his right hand on the other's cheek. stroking it lightly he moved it down to his shoulder to the tie around his neck, picking at the buttons underneath it.
"I hope you take this lesson learned~."
six shivered lightly as he struggled at the bonds again, feeling the buttons unbutton as he felt a cool hand shaking itself in. twisting his head away he felt yakumo's head come closer to his shoulder and breathing down his neck. he yelped feeling a sharp pain located under his choker.
"...you...did not just-"
"I couldn't help it~. I like when you wiggle around like a fly when I do it~."
feeling the sudden tingles down his entire body six felt the tightness of the warmth that started pooling over it, panting as it started affecting his brain's sense as well. he really hated this...not really but sometimes his stupid boyfriend really did seem to like pulling off stupid shit like this.
the hand was starting to feel warmer on his skin as he withered in place. everything was getting blurry and hot like a sauna as he felt the other kissing his neck and lightly pulling the choker up for more access, his hand leaving his chest to venture down to his hip gripping it lightly-...
they paused as they heard footsteps passing the hall they were in. ...they completely forgot they were still in public. stopping in his endeavors he bent down quickly, clawing the webs off of six's feet and picking up the scrawny younger in a rush to hide behind one of the turns.
once the steps echoed away both sighed in relief. yakumo looked down to see his little six wriggling in his arms, the venom still taking it's lovely affect on him.
"...should we take this elsewhere or have you learned enough?~" he asked, gaining a glare from six as he wriggled out of his grip. pulling at the bind on his wrists he pulled him like a dog on a leash. taking the hint he started following suit back to his filthy room. the maid's will definitely have some work for them. and not just the webs is he referring to~.

The 12 Stages of The Hero’s Journey
#unlockyourhiddenpower
FREE Survival Guide: www.remychausse.com/alchemy
Upcoming Events: http://successcircleworkshops.com/
By now, most of us have read The Hero’s Journey. It was first published in the 1980s by Joseph Campbell. It’s a common template that involves a hero who goes on an adventure, finds victory, and comes home transformed, reflecting the three phases of gradual awakening.
My question today is not whether you’re ON a hero’s journey. But which of the 12 stages have you moved through, and are you stuck in one place, unable to get all the way through your spiritual awakening?
If you’re ready for a reminder about these 12 stages, either to see where you are now, or if you’d like to find out where you’ve become stuck and how to get through your spiritual journey once and for all so you can move forward to a new beginning, then stay tuned!
This episode is for you if you wonder …
What if my journey isn’t turning out like I’d hoped?
Can I skip some steps and complete my journey more quickly?
How does this hero’s journey relate to my own spiritual journey?

Changing The Narrative By Starting The Conversation, New Author Paige-Johnson Serjue Releases Book To Help Millennials Challenge Stereotypes
https://authoritypresswire.com/?p=33417 Break free of the bullsh*t: A Millennial Empowerment Guide is an easy to digest, straightforward book intended to motivate Millennials to stop listening to the negative voice in their head, diminish social media comparisons and realize they have the power to create their desired life.“I hope this book will help change the narrative in which Millennials are viewed but also how we view ourselves. My book is one of the few lifestyle guides for Millennials by a Millennial that forces you to take action via reflective activities and a blunt approach. I quickly become that voice in your head telling you 'you can do it' and gives that extra push to transform your life.” says Johnson-Serjue.The goal of the book is to empower the Millennial generation both personally and professionally (along with other generations however, Millennials are the focus).Johnson-Serjue is transparent and incorporates her own experiences (good and bad) into the book. While most other self-help and motivation books provide a temporary change, this book challenges the reader to take action through the question/answer components and journaling prompts. The Atlantic.com wrote earlier in 2020 “Millennials entered the workforce during the worst downturn since the Great Depression. Saddled with debt, unable to accumulate wealth, and stuck in low-benefit, dead-end jobs, they never gained the financial security that their parents, grandparents, or even older siblings enjoyed. They are now entering their peak earning years in the midst of an economic cataclysm more severe than the Great Recession, near guaranteeing that they will be the first generation in modern American history to end up poorer than their parents.”Johnson-Serjue is challenging the truth of that ominous guarantee and offering Millennials, their younger Gen Z counterparts, their Gen X parents, and their employers an alternative outcome through recognizing the advantages of being / working with Millennials.ABOUT THE BOOKYou’ve read a bunch of self help books, maybe reposted some quotes or tagged your friends in some motivational videos, and then what? Nothing. This book will actually make a difference in your life, if you let it. This book is for the excuse making, self doubting procrastinator that has goals and wants to escape the life of mediocrity but needs help getting unstuck. You my friend, are destined for greatness and that journey begins today! Far from sugar coated, break free of the bullsh*t forces you to unlock who you’re meant to be! Confronting fears, overcoming traumas and bringing self reflection to a new level is only the tip of the iceberg! These chapters (called phases) will dive into topics like the power of social media, breaking the cycle and your own toxic behaviour which will leave you embracing your uncertainties and becoming more enlightened.Life changing and highly recommended, regardless of your age.* AJ SEngaging, interactive and a motivating read! I couldn’t put it down! 5 stars!* Aliah JThe reality check you’ve been waiting for!* Debbie YPaige’s technique and approach isn’t your everyday narrative. She hits us with her own truth along with mini exercises to self reflect.* Schenelle DABOUT THE AUTHORPaige Johnson-Serjue is a burger-loving, wine-indulging cool Mom that uses her ‘gift of gab’ aka motivational speaking platform, Paige1ofSome to empower the millennial generation both personally and professionally. She’s unfiltered but compassionate and genuinely gives a sh*t about changing the narrative surrounding this generation.Paige Johnson-Serjue graduated from Brock University, from the Media and Communications program where she was able to turn her life around. She credits Penni LaFleur (now the school’s Experiential Learning Facilitator), with helping her avoid being put on academic suspension due to low grades, by getting Johnson-Serjue to confront her issues and get her head on straight, to be able to graduate with honours. “That experience shaped me into the person I am today - it showed me my true strengths, what I’m capable of and how to be vulnerable and ask for help.”Her social media channels offer consistent empowerment, a good laugh and regular doses of inspiration @paige1ofsome - Instagram URL: https://www.instagram.com/paige1ofsome/?hl=enYoutube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8QRMEoGvcr4OV_dheZvktgBreak free of the bullshi*t is available in both eBook and softcover print, on her website at https://www.breakfreeofthebsbook.com/ with pre-launch bonus offers, and also on Amazon worldwide at https://www.amazon.com/break-free-bullsh-Millennial-Empowerment-ebook/dp/B08N3BPC1F

Article from NYT: Five-Minute Coronavirus Stress Resets
How to get unstuck from your anxiety.
Tumblr media
By Jenny Taitz • Illustrations by Rozalina Burkova
In this emotional equivalent to an ultramarathon, it’s key to have some stress-reducing strategies available that work quickly and efficiently to help you hit the reset button.
Here’s why: Struggling with chronic worry gets in the way of effectively managing your emotions. Unfortunately, many people who experience distress try to escape their unpleasant emotions by distracting themselves in ways that ultimately backfire.
If you suspect you might be one of them, ask yourself whether you have a tendency to judge your emotions — it’s a common thing to do. But it can fuel a vicious loop of feeling, then avoiding the feelings and feeling even worse. Pushing away feelings is like trying to force a beach ball underwater: They will pop back up. Instead, notice and normalize difficult emotions; ideally, negative feelings, including fear, can motivate us to solve problems.
So rather than dealing with anxiety and uncertainty by getting lost worrying, then chasing short-term fixes with longer-term consequences, like procrastinating, using food or marijuana to cope or relying on benzodiazepines — the anti-anxiety drugs like Xanax — it’s helpful to experiment with quick strategies that will empower you. These strategies are not necessarily a cure, but can help lower the intensity of overwhelming emotions, allowing you to recalibrate to better deal with challenges you face.
My patients often reflect that an additional perk of strategic coping is boosting your sense of mastery — the hope that arises when you stretch yourself and accomplish something difficult, like coping with your anxiety in a productive way.
Tumblr media
Try Music Medicine
Focusing on relaxing sounds reduces stress. In research spearheaded by Dr. Veena Graff, an assistant professor in the department of anesthesiology and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania, preoperative patients were assigned either to music medicine — listening to Marconi Union’s “Weightless” — or prescribed a benzodiazepine. Remarkably, serene music proved nearly as effective in easing patients’ jitters as the medication option, with no side effects.
To honor your unique taste, explore different options and create a playlist that you find comforting when you need a break. Keep in mind that although it can seem cathartic to hear songs that validate your emotions (for example, listening to lyrics about heartache while feeling lonely), research on inducing varying mood states concludes that we can improve our experience with a more uplifting soundtrack. “Music can lift us out of depression or move us to tears — it is a remedy, a tonic, orange juice for the ear,” as Dr. Oliver Sacks wrote in “Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain.”
Tumblr media
Cool Off
Marsha Linehan, a professor emeritus in psychology at the University of Washington, popularized an exercise in dialectical behavior therapy to regulate intense emotions that involves immediately lowering your body temperature by creating a mini plunge pool for your face. This sounds odd, but it activates your body’s dive response, a reflex that happens when you cool your nostrils while holding your breath, dampening your physiological and emotional intensity.
To do it, fill a large bowl with ice water, set a timer for 15 to 30 seconds, take a deep breath and hold your breath while dipping your face into the water. While this isn’t conventionally relaxing, it will slow your heart rate, allowing blood to flow more easily to your brain. I love watching my clients try this over our telehealth calls and seeing firsthand how quickly this shifts their perspective. Just being willing to do this, I tell my clients as they prepare to submerge, is a way to practice being flexible.
Tumblr media
Pace Your Breathing
One of my favorite ideas that never fails to fill me with gratitude, no matter what else is happening, comes from the mindfulness expert Jon Kabat-Zinn, who likes to say, “As long as you are breathing, there is more right with you than wrong with you.” In “The Healing Power of the Breath,” Drs. Richard Brown and Patricia Gerbarg offer a range of exercises to promote resilience. One of my favorites: Slow your breathing down to six breaths a minute by consciously inhaling and exhaling (to practice this timing, you can use a secondhand and inhale for five seconds, exhale for five seconds, and repeat four times, or try a guided recording). Paced breathing offers a host of physiological benefits, like reducing your blood pressure, which helps promote a sense of tranquillity. When people tell me it feels challenging to breathe in a certain way when they feel panicked, I tell them to start with alternative soothing activities, like music, and work their way up to paced breathing.
Tumblr media
Practice ‘Anchoring’
Another way to stay present rather than spin into a crisis is to notice if you are engaged in thinking that isn’t helping you. Our interpretations of events supercharge the intensity of our emotions. After all, anticipating, “This will go on for years!” in a moment of anguish will only inspire more hopelessness. But mindfulness, or learning to see more clearly as opposed to jumping to conclusions, is a nice remedy for anxiety. One brief way to enter the moment is known as “anchoring,” a popular strategy.
Start by physically centering yourself by digging your heels into the floor — this evokes a feeling of being grounded in reality. Then take a moment to observe: What am I thinking? Feeling in my body? Doing? Then ask yourself: Is my response: A) Helpful? B) Aligned with my values now? Or C) Related to future worries or a past problem? While we can get stuck in specific thoughts, stepping back to more generally decide if those thoughts are helpful can get us out of rumination mode. It may also help to tape a list of these prompts on your computer to remember to take a step back and refocus when your thoughts are only making things worse.
Tumblr media
Hyperventilate
If you struggle with physical sensations of anxiety, like muscle tension and feeling like you can’t get enough air, a counterintuitive yet important way to manage is to practice bringing on those sensations in more quiet moments to improve how you tolerate stressful ones.
Learning to repeatedly welcome physical symptoms allows you to stop seeing them as catastrophic. In a recent therapy group I led on Zoom, my clients prepared to try this by ordering thin coffee straws. I set my timer for a minute as they pinched their noses and tried to breathe only through the straw.
We also worked on replicating the other sensations they associated with fear, like muscle tension, dizziness and shortness of breath. We held a plank, spun in circles and ran in place. Some people were surprised that the practice experience was worse than the anxiety they normally felt. Others found it was similar, which felt liberating — they didn’t have to wait for the feelings to catch them off guard — and instead could purposefully habituate themselves to them.
Recently, at the end of a long day of video calls with patients, my 5-year-old daughter asked, “When will the germs go away?” After removing my 3-year-old’s sneaker from my 1-year-old’s mouth, I saw a request from a client about an urgent check-in. I practiced paced breathing and pulled up our nightly dance party playlist (by request: Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling”) before discussing my daughter’s feelings and returning to work.
Now I hope you create your own plan with the strategies above. By practicing managing your emotions, you’ll experience a sense of freedom in your life. I don’t know about you, but I’d chase that over any mindless short-term alternative.

TGIWednesday News
Ok, for those that did not catch the pun yet, there is no extended warranty on sessions!   I cannot make it up.  I have had plenty of clients over the years that have had ailments or issues for decades and they schedule 15 minutes with me and weeks later they are shocked that all and everything bad has not completely and utterly gone away.  Often I believe things can leave us as fast as they were set upon us. But like any doctor, lawyer or Indian chief, I never know what will happen.  Ultimately it depends on the client and their blocks and how attached they are to their issues.  You would be shocked at the things that people don’t want to release.  It’s as if their body is hoarding these issues and they would not know what they would do in their spare time without them!  Just know that it may take some time and effort but I am making every effort to push forward and make the rest of our lives the best of our lives and I am determined to make progress every day and so should you! For anyone who has purchased audios, offers or certification in the past, be on the lookout in your inbox Monday August 3rd for our VIP 48-hour presale of our newest audio mp3 release MyBeliefWorks™ for Inspiring and Igniting Your Creative Spark, aka 'The Creatives'. This is for those of you who are artists, musicians, performers, writers, intuitive healers and empaths and it can assist you in getting unstuck, releasing brain fog and getting your creative juices flowing again! The official launch will be in next Wednesday's TGIW for all!
