Issue #3: “Stupid Little Kit Daydreams”

I know I’ve mentioned it before, but PATFW definitely gets into some heavier topics than my other stories you may have read, and I feel like this is the first issue where that really becomes apparent. Pinepaw is under a lot of pressure, and BarrenClan is not a very nice place to live. 

Honestly, more of this story than I expected is about how much mentors influence their apprentices, and how all three mentors of the main kids (minus Cormorantpaw and Redpelt) are just... really bad at their job!

Still, that doesn’t excuse Asphodelpaw’s behavior.

this art style is lovely. i know people hate the whole “john is showier with his magic wtf” but he looks so pretty during this comic line. cleaned up dirty little rat man pretty, but still.

it’s fun. i think it finally keeps his personality away from being in love with zatanna- which is what pulled me away from the initial jld storyline in the first place- and gives us a man who’s willing to look at xanthe’s parents and use their preferred pronouns to their parents’ faces. which people called making john “woke”, which . . . that’s how he’s always been.

anyways. fun story, caught up with it, thought i would share.

Thinking about Tim saying Jason's fighting moves are offensive not defensive in the context of when Jason couldn't have his adrenaline spike.

His fighting style is inherently very adrenaline inducing. Bruce had taken away his whole way of protecting himself and those around him.
