Hc that Katniss and Prim wear oversized pre-loved clothes bought from the hob, which are lots of men’s wear left behind by the peacekeepers. And it makes sense to get larger clothes to grow into and whatnot. So yea it doesn’t fit the best but they are mended and presentable! On another note I like the blue grey washed out aesthetic of district 12 in the movies so I tried to put that here

I just know Peeta is one day going to realize that Katniss legitimately finds him physically more attractive than everyone else. Like in the books it’s literally “Gale looks handsome I guess” and she acknowledges that Finnick is good looking. But Peeta literally gets paragraphs of devotion and loving attention.

And Peeta wouldn’t believe it but he also thinks nothing in the world is more lovely than Katniss Everdeen

I've said it once (84 times) and I'll say it a thousand times (1084 times) I want Peeta to find out how absolutely loved, wanted, desired, admired and adored he is by Katniss. I want them to lay on some grass when he catches her staring at him and he asks her why and she says she's watching his eyelashes when he blinks. I want them to be working at moving rubble in town and he takes off his shirt and uses the shirt to wipe sweat off his brow. And then he glances over to Katniss and she is STARING at him. Eyes like fucking dinner plates. He thinks he actually catches her biting her lip. I want them to lay in bed together after a hard day and he's completely wiped. Falls asleep with his prosthesis on. He wakes up to find that she took it off for him, rubbed a mint ointment on his sore stump, got him out of his pants and button down, and tucked him in. I want him to get into a fake, fun argument with Sae and some of the other Seam folk. And they're lovingly hassling him and he's giving and taking it in turn and Katniss is just BEAMING at the scene because of how accepted he is by "her" folk. I want him to run a little class where he teaches kids how to bake (always with an adult present) so they can make their own treats at home. And Katniss always makes sure to time her visits so she can watch the end of the class because something about seeing Peeta sweetly tell these children how wonderful their creations were and lets them all go home with a free cookie - it makes her heart want to burst. And he looks up at her and sees this look in her eyes. And he knows exactly what that look is, but he wants to hear it from her - he NEEDS to hear it from her.

Anon, he's going to know. And she's going to spend the rest of her life loving him with her entire SOUL. I believe this fully. 💚🌻🧡🌻

I love those crazy time travel/alternate universe fix it fics where Katniss and/or Peeta are forced to redo the entire series with knowledge of what happened in the future’s past. (I read waaay too manhwa with this premise) It’s very healing and cathartic when they do things in the right order and people are saved and whatever, but I’m waiting for the fic where Katniss goes back to the first games but this time she’s paired up with the hijacked Peeta, who isn’t murderous, but is just plain mean and thinks she doesn’t love him. So it’s up to Miss Everdeen to hard carry this love story they’re trying to sell to capitol.

And instead of a cute falling in love in the Games story line, we get this mess not together- but are divorced dynamic from Everlark like-

“You not every big or pretty, are you?”

And Katniss just snaps back at him on live tv like: “Keep saying that. But I saw you check out my ass all the time during phys-Ed.”

God imagine the Cave. The sexual tension would be scorching.

I think that Peeta was onto something about us destroying one another and letting some decent species take over. Because something is significantly wrong with a creature that sacrifices its children’s lives to settle its differences. You can spin it any way you like. Snow thought the Hunger Games were an efficient means of control. Coin thought the parachutes would expedite the war. But in the end, who does it benefit? No one. The truth is, it benefits no one to live in a world where these things happen.

this quote is very seldomly mentioned but to me it’s one of the most significant of the whole series. in my opinion, this right here is katniss’ overall takeaway of the whole series.

UMM so cruel summer and a lot of other songs are making a lotttt more sense now that I’ve realized the “devil” that Taylor keeps referring to is actually the music industry as a whole thanks to @keepingsecretstokeepyoutk (see this post). “He looks up grinning like a devil” // “I would’ve stayed on my knees and I damn sure never would’ve danced w the devil AT 19” // “Dear reader if you aim at the devil make sure you don’t miss.” Do you remember the Top Global Artist vid that spotify released that had cruel summer as the background song and had a bunch of cruel summer references? Yeah go back and watch that again w this context in mind 😃 Taylor (the angel) has had enough of the games and is gonna end them once and for all which is very Katniss Everdeen of her—hello the archer 🏹 if any of you have read or watched the hunger games you know how the story ends

And you'll also remember that Katniss escapes the games twice by cheating--the first time w poison berries and the second time by destroying the arena itself (which was a clock) WITH itself using a lightning strike current at midnight that shot thru her arrow -> "And there was one prize I'd cheat to win." Not to mention Katniss was the mockingjay, a symbol of rebellion and resistance. And the fire symbolism in this trilogy was meant to represent how that rebellion can spread from a spark of hope. Snow lands on top but fire melts snow. Taylor is a huge hunger games fan so I wouldn't be surprised at all if these parallels were intentional. Also I'm not the first one to notice the hunger games connections, I saw some other gaylors point this out so I can't take full credit for that
