Ooh, this is a juicy one.

Lillith-

Both Canon!Lillith and LHAU!Lillith are fascinated by the existence of parallel universes, they end up spending the meeting comparing their lives. And infodumping to each other, because of course.

Raine-

LHAU!Raine is more than a little jealous of Canon!Raine, (mostly the fact they’re in the bard coven, they don’t care about Eda.) but they’d never admit that. Canon!Raine finds LHAU!Raine sort of off-putting. They’re not sure if it’s the fact that this is a possible outcome they could have gotten, or if they just don’t like them, but they don’t really click.

Darius-

LHAU!Darius and Canon!Darius aren’t too different, so they get along fine. LHAU is a bit too rude for Canon’s taste, but they get on fine. LHAU is very shocked that Canon is friends with Eberwolf, though, considering he thinks Eb is a nuisance.

Eda-

You know.

Perry-

they’re really just copies of each other, tbh. They end up taking about the weather.

Clexa AU: Probably for the Better

You guys, I did a thing. I wrote a one shot earlier this summer called “Why Do You Think It Feels This Way?” and got an overwhelming amount of positive comments from people wanting a little more from this Clexa AU. I’ve decided to continue on with the story with a four-part follow up.

“Probably for the Better” takes place three months after Lexa and Clarke’s initial meeting. The two haven’t seen or spoken since. Now, everyone is gathered for Octavia and Lincoln’s wedding. Will we finally have what we want from them? Guess we’ll find out.

Do the LH AU have any fun cute pet names that monsters use for friends and loved ones, unusual ones?

In general: Because of monsterkind’s inadvertent history with birds, bird related petnames have been popularized. You might catch monsters attempting to chat up people with words like “hey, robin” or “my sweet canary”. It’s considered cheesy as all hell, but it is still ridiculously popular, especially with older monsters.

Monsters don’t use “angel” as a petname lightly. You’re either the love of their life, whether romantically or platonically, or they are trying way too hard to be acceptable to impress you. It’s considered rude to use this jokingly.

For close friends and family, monsters prefer more personal pet names if they have any at all. Most of the time, they prefer calling loved ones by chosen name, and the more serious and close the relationship, the likelier this would be the case. Respect also plays a huge part. Of course, people goof off occasionally and joke around with pet names too. Pet names generally reflect your relationship with them. Monsters generally read tone well, so fond nicknames like “nerd” and “loser” are acceptable.

Aaaand, I’ll give a few examples!

Papyrus, for example, used to call their pet rock a meteor. That’s Sans’s fault for using blue magic on it. He doesn’t have a pet name for Sans because he’s “just Sans”, someone he respects and loves openly. Papyrus hasn’t given Undyne a pet name out of admiration and respect for her position, and also because he secretly is anxious about coming up with a ‘right’ one. He’s one of those who finds bird pet names very cheesy and refuse to use it, but would unironically use ‘angel’ if he finds someone he loves who meets all of his standards.

Sans is too tired for this shit and he remembers everybody’s name because of his job. He calls everyone younger than him kiddo, and everyone older by their name or title. He usually uses their title. It took Papyrus befriending Undyne to get him to stop calling her the Head of the Royal Guards.

He only has pet names for really, really close loved ones, since he has to be friends with almost everyone for his job. And he really doesn’t like thinking of pet names anyway, so Papyrus gets “Paps”, “vertebro” and other variations of bone puns or name-shortenings. He fucking gives up on everyone else, what more do they want he’s keeping them all alive.

…he has a huge weakness for “robin”, and pet names that make him feel loved and valued like “treasure” and “darling”, even if he still won’t reciprocate and call people that.

Undyne is a firm subscriber in tone. Mostly because her pet names are fond insults. I’m pretty sure she called Alphys her trash multiple times after they got together. Papyrus gets “nerd” and “loser” initially, but once she realizes how much of a sweetheart he really is, it goes to “dork” and and never looks back. In private, she has called Alphys mushy pet names like “sunshine” when she’s sleep addled and mumbling.

Alphys can barely bring herself to call people by their names, much less use random pet names on casual friends. Only the few people she’s comfortable around sees that she is a genius at coming up with these. Witty and charming pet names hell yes. Even though she might make some anime references here and there, there’s nothing that can’t be solved with anime night. She’s picky about pet names, even though she clearly won’t be able to bring herself to say anything about it if someone calls her something she doesn’t like. Just cringe online, I guess.

Speaking of online, she liberally uses pet names for everyone there because she finally dares. Her talent at naming shines there. She can get quite sassy with those though.

She has a huge weakness for things like “dollface” and “babe”. But her greatest weakness of all is when her bae lets slip sweet, soft pet names like “sweetheart” or “sunshine”, whether on accident or not. Especially when her bae gets visibly embarrassed and is visibly trying to pretend she is not embarrassed.
