CLYDE VS. BRON - In this video clip, sports commentator Clyde Frazier criticizes LeBron James for sitting away from the squad during a timeout. As of late, it seems like he just doesn’t care anymore. Who could really blame him though? He’s stuck around a bunch of average veterans who can’t shoot and an unmotivated young squad. To be fair, he did try to trade half the roster away to acquire Anthony Davis from the Pelicans, but that’s besides the point. What do you guys think? Do you think Clyde has a point in saying that LeBron needs to step up as the face of the NBA and be an actually part of the team (at least on camera)? Or do you think LeBron is justified in not caring about the team as of now?

OLD DOGS, OLD TRICKS - During the preseason, everyone was caught up with LeBron leaving his hometown of Cleveland and playing for the Lakers. Magic Johnson (Lakers president) also acquired a number of interesting characters. Lackluster Lance Stephenson, Mediocre JaVale McGee, Average Michael Beasley, and Second-Rate Rajon Rondo. While all veterans in the NBA, they don’t serve much purpose to the Lakers, other than placeholders for younger (and better) talent to come in. Magic did a poor job of building the team around the franchise player LeBron, seeing that he needs shooters around him and none of the four veterans acquired can shoot at all. Not to knock their strong start to the season, because it was a very strong start. But as time went on the mediocracy of the veterans shone brighter than anything else. What do you guys think? Do they deserve another chance or cut them ASAP for younger talent?

LOSING LAKERS - The Lakers can’t seem to buy a win nowadays. The Lakers allowed the New York Knicks (who are also tanking) to score 41 points in the first quarter of the game. The Lakers looked as if they were going 60 mph on the highway while the Knicks were going 90 mph. Despite that, the Lakers were able to rally back and take an 11 point lead towards the end of the fourth quarter. Unsurprisingly, the Lakers only scored one point in the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter, allowing the Knicks to catch up and beat them by…one point. What do you guys think? Tanking at it’s finest or just a lack of focus from the LakeShow?

TANKING SZN?! - Let’s face it, as of now, the Lakers have no chance of making it to the playoffs. They’re 11th in the west and 9 games behind the 8th spot with most of the roster hurt and LeBron on restricted minutes. Tanking seems like the most reasonable thing to do at this point, seeing that there’s no point in trying to win games now. Tanking, in a nutshell, is when team purposely try to lose games in order to get better draft picks (usually teams with the worst records get first dibs on top college prospects). Besides the upset fans who paid good money to see LeBron and the Lakers dominate the West, there’s many upsides to the tank. For example, Lebron gets to rest up for next season and focus on maintaining his body. The Lakers get a chance for a better draft pick and the rookies get a chance to showcase their skills. What do you all think? Tank or go for the 8th spot?

BRANDON IS OKAY - Lakers forward Brandon Ingram just underwent a surgery called thoracic decompression in his right arm. Last week after a check up for his shoulder, it was revealed that he had deep venous thrombosis; a condition caused by blood clots. Following the procedure, the blood clot was removed and blood is now flowing properly throughout his body. Unfortunately, the condition is sitting him out for the rest of the season. However, doctors believe he will need three to four months to recover and should be fine for the start of the next season. Brandon was a key part of the Lakers squad, averaging 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. What do you guys think? Brandon coming back stronger or the condition was a major setback?
