rewatching broadchurch series 2 yet again, and there's something really sad in how it never seems to dawn on hardy that claire 100% took advantage of his wife's infidelity (tanking sandbrook) to get to him.

Oh.. oh what is this? Have I found a forest full of bluebells in the book we're reading in our English class?
Tumblr media
Does it look like the forest from Broadchurch season 2 in Sandbrook? It most certainly fucking does.
Tumblr media
Where does this story take place? France, yes that's what I thought too.
"Do bluebells even grow in France?"
There's ya answer, mate
Anyway you should read the book too, it's a graphic novel about a Jewish girl in world war 2

King Tuff Live Preview: 3/31, Empty Bottle, Chicago
Tumblr media
BY JORDAN MAINZER
For his fifth full-length album and first in 5 years, amidst the uncertainty of a just-starting global pandemic, L.A.-via-Vermont fuzz rocker King Tuff decided to make a record to remind himself “that life is magical.” The result, January’s Smalltown Stardust (Sub Pop), is a far cry from the drawn-out, languid psychedelia of 2018′s The Other, Kyle Thomas opting for more specific references to nature, places, and objects that mean something to him. It’s his best record yet.
Of course, it helps when making an album during a global pandemic, if your housemate is Sasami Ashworth (aka SASAMI), who served the role of co-pilot, producing, writing, and singing along Thomas. Her airy voice is the perfect foil to Thomas’ deadpan sneer-cum-croon, immediately apparent on songs like “Tell Me” and “How I Love”. More important, her presence and curatorial ear seems to have refined Thomas’ singing and songwriting. “How I Love”, a song Thomas admits was tough for someone normally “lost in nothing but noise for so many years,” obscured by guitars, is an immediate Beatles-esque standout. “The Bandits of Blue Sky” starts with lo-fi drum fills and turns into a 70s AM radio piano rocker rife with orchestral synths, Thomas cinematically delivering a tall tale about a ghost roaming the streets. And the layers of saxophone, vocals, and clattering percussion propel “Always Find Me”, a heady tune where Thomas describes himself as “a loser lost in my headphones,” as are we in witnessing the expanse of the music.
Even if you’re not a spiritual person, it’s easy to dive right into Thomas’ joyous expressions of his own spirituality. On “Portrait Of God”, he asks, “Have you ever tried to imagine the shape of God?”, his jubilant singing and Steely Dan guitar leads paying tribute to our ability to find meaning in the natural world, art, and love. “Stars align, the planets dance, life happens in between,” he declares on the gentle “Pebbles In A Stream”, a mystical ode to love both romantic and platonic. Best, everyone can relate to the concept of the title track, album title, and album as a whole: Whether you’re remembering Route 91 in your small town or the sounds of the city you grew up in, “smalltown stardust” is that intangible feeling you get from nostalgia, a little melancholic, mostly wistful. This retro rocker captures it well.
King Tuff plays tonight at Empty Bottle. NYC rock band Tchotchke, who released an equally retro, supremely catchy self-titled album last year, goes on at 10 PM. Sorry, Jamie Lee Curtis.

TOTAL ECLIPSE…
Take a moment on today’s total eclipse to remember how magical the cornerstones of our life here are. The way the sun and the moon work in tandem to keep our planet so perfectly primed for life. How they never fail, or miss a beat. Take a moment today to marvel at the science of this and then give your awe over to the magic there too. One degree difference in this dance of star and moon could change everything. Everything. This life you live is never anything short of miraculous. Even on the most mundane of days. Moments like this serve to remind us, we are safely held in place. So be held , my friends, be held.

i read the summary to your serial killer au and id like to know about the references you mentioned. what's their plot and how much of them is in your story?
hello ! um, i'll try to be brief because of spoilers, okei ? :]
tw // mentions of murder, suicide and cannibalism
the cat lady (2012 videogame): this is the story of a woman called susan ashworth, who's just died and is wandering the land of the dead. there, susan finds herself in the presence of Death itself and, because of the circumstances leading to her suicide, Death decides to give susan a second chance at living and finding joy,,, in exchange for a favour: susan has to kill five serial killers and, until the last one is dead, susan can't die. so,,, that's the basic premise of the whole story :D mike has struck this deal with death and he now has to kill five people. they come to him, so he can't avoid them, and they're all different levels of dangerous and messed up. .
the end of the f***ing world (2017 series): so, there's a boy called james, 17, who believes he's a psychopath. after killing many animals, he now feels ready to move on to something bigger and so, he decides he wants to kill alyssa, the very troubled new girl who decides she wants to run away and cross the country to reunite with her dad. so they leave. they do crimes. they kill someone. and then they're on the run,,, which is another major plot point of my story ~ mike only accepted the deal with Death because he's always wanted to kill someone. once back in the world of the living, the first person he meets is will and mike feels the urge to kill him, so he accepts to travel to california with him and it is along the way that they encounter the killers :O .
bones and all (2022 film): on the day she turns 18, maren's dad abandons her, leaving her only with her birth certificate and a tape recording that details maren's long history of violence and cannibalistic attacks. lost and lonely, maren then decides to search for her mother and along the way she meets a bunch of other people like her: cannibals, people who were born like this and can't help themselves. one of these people is lee, who is also lonely and immediately connects with her. so they go together, kill together, eat together and fall in love ~ now, this one is mostly about the vibes :O there's something cosy about lee and maren's relationship; how they are different from the rest of the world, monsters, and they can't help it but it's okei because they have each other. so for the most part i wanted to recreate that feeling with my story :] ,,,that said, there's also a cannibal character in my story (h****) who relates a lot to mike and wants to take him under his wing in an almost brotherly way and mike knows he has to kill him, but they actually start to get along so mike is very troubled and scared that he'll end up eating will because of how much he loves him x.x .
so yeah, hope this answers your questions :] thank you for sending them in ~ !! :D

Thoughts about a second part to wheres my love? 👀
“where’s my love” haunts me bc i wrote that prologue and then dropped it completely :( i had plans for this series but i never got to it.
i’ll tell you what i had planned for it though! i was gonna make reader be lee ashworth’s sister. but of course she would be nothing like him. they would get close with alec maybe through a protection program? like he did with claire.
alec would be incredibly protective of her. she’d be worried he would hate her :( but alec would tell her that not once had he thought she was anything like him 🥹
lee would take advantage of the fact that they’re soulmates. he’d ask her to manipulate alec but of course she would refuse. and then he’d use her to blackmail alec.
there would be angst but they’d get a happy ending of course!!
