The White Healer Chapter 5

Summary: We get to find out what really happened.

Warnings: Description of injuries. Lots of injuries please be careful. extreme Angst. Attempted self-death. Character death.

Author note: This chapter is a heavy with details of injuries. Please keep this in mind before you read.

That stone killed my sister.

Those words echoed in everyone’s head.

“Lady Y/n” Thor hesitated. “That is the mind stone. One of the six infinity stones”

Your glare shifted from the robot to Thor. The god actually seemed to shrink a little.

“Besides” Steve cut in, “Hydra has had the sceptre (which housed the stone) for the past 3 years and it was in Loki’s possession long before that. Do you think it was Hydra that killed your sister?”

Annoyed you huffed. Wanda had managed to sit you down, so at least there was no danger of you hurting anyone. Not that you would, but the look you gave Vision was unlike anything she’d ever seen.

“What the fuck is a Hydra?” You asked, breathing through your nose.

“Detka, Hydra is the organisation that gave me and Pietro our powers.” Wanda said gently.

Her heart hurt as you refused to make eye contact with her.

“They were a terrorist organisation that intended to shape the world in their own twisted way.” Steve continued.

“Lady Y/n” Thor said gently. “Are you sure it was that particular stone?”

You thought about it for a minute, your mind going back to that god awful day.

“It looked more orange, than yellow” you decided.

Thor let out a breath. “That’s sounds like the soul stone” He said.

He immediately walks up to you and grabs you by the shoulders. Within a split second, Thor was against the wall, red mist pressing his hands against the wall. It took a second for the other’s to realise what had happened. Wanda’s eyes were glowing red, hands covered in red mist. Natasha had grabbed a knife and was standing in front of you facing Thor. Pietro had made his way to stand behind you without anyone noticing.

“O-okay” Steve said, raising his hands placatingly. “How about everyone takes a deep breath and calm down. Wanda, could you please let go of Thor? Nat, put down the knife. Let’s go to the meeting room and talk this out?”

At once, everyone walked to the meeting room. Thor the last to enter. His eyes moved around as they slowly landed on you. Your gaze softened when you realised he had no intention of hurting you. It had just scared you when he grabbed you so suddenly.

“I apologise, Lady Y/n. It was not my intention to frighten you. I was merely stunned as it is the third infinity stone to come into play the past few years. I should have been more mindful of my strength”

“It’s alright Thor” You said softly. “You just surprised me. I’m not entirely sure what these infinity stones are but I understand your fear of them. And please, just call me y/n.”

His face broke into a grin. “Indeed y/n. As recompense, I shall introduce you to my favourite treat, the popped tarts!”

Chuckling you nodded.

Nat held your hand “Malyshka, do you think you could tell us about how you came across the soul stone?”

You nodded. You tried to speak but no sound came out. Your body physically unable to recount the story. Feeling utterly helpless, you looked at Wanda.

“Are you sure, detka?” She asked, concerned.

You merely nodded.

“I’m going to show her memory to all of you as y/n’s having.. a little trouble speaking at the moment” Wanda said out loud. She had held your hand without anyone watching as almost everyone was sitting on the other side of the table. Pietro, however, noticed both of the women holding your hand and his heart warmed at the display.

“Hold on a second witchy” Tony interrupted. “Not all of us want you in our head”

Natasha glared at him where as Wanda merely nodded.

“How about this, I’ll share the memory with Nat and Piet” she said. “We can tell you what we saw”

Everyone nodded in agreement. Once Wanda had linked their minds, she spoke to you.

“Just recall the memory, detka. We’ll see it too”

You closed your eyes as the memory washed over you.

You must have barely been 13, your sister 10. Your parents decided they couldn’t afford to take care one daughter, much less two. Shortly after your sister’s birth, the both of them had taken you to the middle of a city and drove off. You had cried the entire time until a social worker found you, huddling with your sister for warmth.

The 5 years you spent in the orphanage were pretty good actually, they gave you freedom to leave and return whenever you liked. Food was warm and the company was good.

As was custom, you and your sister went to the fair near a park. It was the most fun she had as she was finally allowed on some of the rides. The faculty had a deal with you, they’d let you enter the fair and all its’ rides for free as long as you cleaned up everything after they closed for the day. Was it fair? No. But it made your sister happy, hence it was worth it.

“Y/n” a voice called you.

Your head shot towards the forest, a glowing orange light beckoning you closer. You looked around to see why other’s weren’t bothering with it. You decided to ignore it until it called your name again. Telling your sister you’d be back in a second and that she should go watch the flame festival show in the large tent.

You headed towards the forest, deeper and deeper but the light from earlier was gone. Looking around for a bit you only noticed some scorch marks on the bark of a few trees but nothing else. As you turned around you noticed bright orange-ish red light in the distance. Figuring you probably headed in the wrong direction you started walking towards the distant glow.

You frowned as you got closer, the trees had started thinning and you could hear some noises. The blood drained from your face as you realised the noises were people screaming. Immediately, you took off. Sprinting towards the source of the noises. You were panting as you neared the source. You slowed down as you saw the large tent that was on fire. You screamed out your sister’s name. A staff ran towards you.

“Please have you seen my sister?” You asked.

He shoved you aside and ran away, completely ignoring your question.

“Y/N HELP ME PLEASE” A familiar scream made your blood run cold.

You ran into the tent, the whole place in flames. You saw your sister stuck between two pillars, too scared to move. You ran and ducked under pillar, grabbing your sisters leg and pulling her towards you. You noticed she was violently coughing.

CRACK

The pillar you were under fell. You used all your remaining strength to throw your sister as far away as possible. You let out an inhuman scream as the pillar fell onto your back. You felt the red hot metal sear your skin, your body seizing under the pain violently.

You absolutely cannot pass out.

Crawling out you felt the skin on your back tear and you sobbed and screamed as you clawed your way out. Fresh tears made their way down your face as you noticed your sister had passed out, multiple burns on her arms and legs. Your arms weren’t faring any better.

You tried to pick her up but your body wasn’t strong enough. Screaming in frustration you looped your arms around her back. Grunting in pain as you felt your back split open. Feeling dizzy from the pain but the adrenaline allowed you to drag your sister by the arms.

“Come here” A voice told you.

You saw the glowing orange light again in the forest.

You somehow made your way there, despite your brain telling you to go to the ambulances that had arrived.

“We can save her” you heard the voice again.

The moment you got close to the light, it grew brighter. Blinding you, forcing you to close your eyes. When you opened them you and your sister were on the top of a mountain.

“Welcome y/n, daughter of (your father’s name)” A voice came from behind you.

You screamed in fear and saw a man in a hood floating towards you. As he neared you noticed his face was completely red, and he seemed to be missing a nose. You briefly wondered whether he could smell stuff but flinched the moment he floated closer. You backed up, keeping a protective hand on your sister. You then remembered how she was unconscious.

“You have been chosen” The man said. “The stone calls for your soul”

“Please” you whispered. “Please save my sister.”

He looked at you, refusing to look at your sister.

“You have been chosen” He repeated. “The-“

“Please.” You begged. “Please save her”

He sighed.

“Very well.” He said. “But a sacrifice must be made. A soul for a soul”

You looked at him confused. He merely floated towards a cliff, you leaned forward and saw a design at the very bottom of the cliff. You stared at him in disbelief.

“You.. want me to walk down there?” You asked uncertainly.

He shook his head.

“One must make a sacrifice to obtain the power they so desire” He said solemnly. “The stone has chosen you. To obtain the power you seek, you must sacrifice that which you love the most”

You stared at him in disbelief.

“You’re saying if I throw my sister down I can heal her?”

He shook his head. “A soul sacrificed can not be brought back, however it is the price required for the power you seek”

You realised what you needed to do. Tears made their way down your face as you came to a decision. You walked towards your sister and put your hand on her chest. Her heart beat very faintly. You kissed her cheek softly.

“I’m sorry bunny. I hate to do this but it’s the only way” You whispered.

You glared at the red faced guy. You nodded. He floated back towards the edge, carrying your sisters body.

“Wait.” You called out, walking towards him.

He paused, right at the edge, looking at you questioningly. You merely smirked.

“Bye bunny” you said and jumped off.

“NO” you heard him shout.

You kept your eyes on your sister as you fell. Closing them as you neared the ground. When you hit the ground you had expected pain or just.. nothing but you weren’t expecting warmth to take over your body. The warmth increased to an uncomfortable degree. Soon it started burning everywhere. You let out a scream as you felt everything.. burn. Wait. Scream? How could you scream?

You opened your eyes to find yourself back on top of the cliff. You looked around and saw the floaty guy look at you. Panicking you looked around for your sister.

You stood up, the searing pain was gone.

“WHERE IS SHE?” You screamed at him.

You tried to throw a rock at him but it merely disappeared into his cloak.

“Oh Liebchen” He said sympathetically. “The stone chose you. It made the decision to take your sister instead of you”

“No.” You whispered, falling to your knees.

Tears made their way down your face. This isn’t fair. This isn’t what it was supposed to be like.

“Revel in the power you’ve gained. For you cannot die. Not now, not ever. Your soul is eternal.” He said, glowing until he disappeared.

None of that mattered. Your sister. Your bunny. She.. was gone. Unable to take it any longer you fell to the ground. The last thing you saw were the trees and the night sky. Then. Everything went black.

I was watching Avengers the other day and noticed something I haven't ever joined the dots on before.

In this shot of Barton just before he shoots the arrow at the helicarrier, he's pale, sweating, and has dark circles under his eyes. I can only assume this is due to having been under the influence of the sceptre for the last few days.

And then there's this more familiar shot of Loki having just come through the tesseract's portal...

...pale, sweating, and with dark circles under his eyes.

Barton still has those bright blue eyes that indicate he's under the direct influence of the sceptre, and Loki doesn't.

So what I'm concluding from this is that Loki was recently under the direct influence of the sceptre just before he was sent to earth.

This direct control was removed before he was sent, but he remains under the more indirect influence that the sceptre has on people nearby (e.g. the Avengers on the helicarrier). We see his physical health improve the longer he's on earth, which would work with this theory, and this is the same as how Barton recovers after the influence is removed.

I'd never subscribed to the theory that Loki was under the direct control of the sceptre at any point during Avengers, but this makes me think it's very likely he was being directly controlled by it for a period of time shortly before he was sent to earth.

Maybe this was some form of conditioning? Maybe it's easier for the sceptre to influence someone indirectly after they've been directly connected with it? I don't know. Possibly these effects were due to something else, but since Endgame we know it's not travel by tesseract that causes this. Although there's a possibility whatever the SHIELD scientists did on this end of the portal could have had some effect. But it's just too similar a set of symptoms to be unrelated.

I curse it again that we were never given more of Loki's story with Thanos in the series or the Avengers films!!!

after reading the one hundred and one millionth inane quote about how Loki is such a pRiViLeGeD pRiNcE while Sylvie is just a poor baby who had no real childhood and had to learn to fend for herself from a young age, I feel the need to point out that even the ONE thing we know about Sylvie's past, the thing that's supposed to be her mAjOr tRaUmA and set her apart from him somehow, was literally stolen from Loki.

this is how Tom described Loki's experience post-suicide attempt back in the day while doing press for Avengers:

“I think he went, like with everything else, to a sort of… it was just like, the worst place imaginable. I think he went to all of the darkest recesses of the universe. I’m sure he had a brush with—several brushes with death. I think he ran into the shadiest characters you can find in the Nine Realms. I think he had to rely on his wits to protect himself. It was really, really, really unpleasant, I think. I don’t have any frame of reference for that, except for imagining what it might be like to be kidnapped by a terrorist or something and have to survive a very, very frightening and precarious existence. But whatever it was, it was important when Loki came back for The Avengers, that whatever compassion he had left was absolutely shriveled to a minimum because of the experience that he had. Harrowing, I think, and scarring for life—in a way that Thor and Odin and Frigga find very, very difficult to understand.” [source]

and now the show pretends that Loki teamed up with Thanos completely of his own will, even though Marvel had JUST confirmed that the sceptre was influencing him throughout Avengers, and they hand that traumatic backstory that was Loki's off to their precious OC.

Loki is the Catalyst of Marvel

‪*If he didn’t let the Frost Giants into Asgard to interrupt Thor’s coronation, Thor wouldn’t have come to Earth and met Selvig who then later helped Loki create the ‘space portal machine’ in the Avengers. ‬

*If he didn’t try to destroy Jotunheim then he would never have fallen into the black hole, gotten the Space and Mind stone and got the Avengers to assemble and ‘deliver’ these Infinity Stones to them. He let himself get caught by the Avengers because he WANTED to LOSE!

‪*If he hadn’t of killed Coulson, we wouldn’t have Agents of SHIELD.

‪*If he hadn’t got the sceptre, Wanda wouldn’t have gotten her amplified powers nor would Vision or Ultron ever have existed. Thor & Tony wouldn’t have had their prophesying visions about what would likely happen in IW ‬‬

‪*If he didn’t let Thanos kill him in Infinity War, Thor would have been snapped out of existence and Thanos would have succeeded in erasing half‬

Doctor Strange saw that the only way it would all work was if Tony sacrificed himself. He saw what Loki was doing behind the scenes. Loki recruited HIMSELF into the TVA after recruiting Mobius and other underdogs in order

to humble him. He even created Sylvie so that he could see from the outside what he had once been like and learn to ‘love himself.’ He has to tell her and his past self to not be selfish and power hungry (akin to Charles telling Logan to ‘guide his younger self’ in X-Men: Days of Future Past. He was ‘acting’ bad in the Avengers!! Loki admired Tony because of what he was doing. His purpose was to save the universe! 😭 He told Thor that the ‘Sun would shine on them again’ because he KNEW that they would reunite again eventually and told Thanos ‘You will never be a God.’ Because Loki was always that many steps ahead in the grand scheme of things. . He was guiding himself and everyone else the ENTIRE time!😌💚

Btw: Loki called Don ‘Mobius’ due to Tony discovering the ‘Mobius’ strip’ in Endgame. He always admired Tony’s ‘glorious purpose’ and that’s why he keeps referring to him in the ‘Loki’ series and Mobius knows ALL about Loki because HE, Loki as the ‘God of Stories’ MADE him that way!😉🧬

Loki’s Impact on the Marvel Universe So Far

He deliberately got caught by the Avengers so that the respective items got delivered and he WANTED to LOSE!

Despite Frigga saying: ‘You’re so perceptive about everyone but yourself,’ the older, wiser Loki knows himself well enough in order to change the other, younger version of himself. He knows EVERYTHING about the Avengers members in the first Avengers movie for a REASON! 😉

So there. Loki is indeed more important to the Marvel Universe than we all realised. 😌‬💚

Thor, Hulk and Loki about the ‘Sun.’ God of Stories Loki made it so that the phrase the ‘sun is going down’ to calm the Hulk down and subdue him and the ‘sun shining on him and Thor again’ was to inspire hope and energy.

The Time Stone is green because of Loki. ‪Did he create it? Did he some how get it to Sanctum Sanctorum?‬

‪Did Loki make Heimdall send Bruce to the Sanctum in Infinity War since Loki had been there before (in Ragnarok?) Is that why Bruce mentions ‘Loki’ to Tony, Stephen and Wong informing and warning them about Thanos?‬

He created the World Tree Yggdrasil and quite literally erased, reset and rebooted the MCU! 🤯

Loki is the ‘World Serpent’ Jörmungandr

Not since sokovia?

Content - age regression, cg!pietro, platonic!cg!avengers (mainly auntie!nat), crying, soft toys, sippy cups, cuddles, kind of forced age regression but not really, angst with a fluffy ending, not proofread, don’t like don’t read.

Summary - when you haven’t regressed in a long time your fellow avengers help you, and you get a new caregiver.

Authors note - I’m not kidding, this has been in my drafts for 4 months and I completely forgot about it, reblogs are greatly appreciated, I hope you enjoy<3

6 months.

It had been 6 months since you last regressed.

You knew because the last time you allowed yourself to enter your comforting headspace it was the night before you raided struckers hydra base looking for lokis sceptre, the night you met pietro.

You were the most unlikely pair but somehow you just worked in perfect harmony.

You didn't think your heart could beat so fast until you saw those bullets coming towards him, luckily steve had thrown his vibranium shield fast enough to block them from hitting him of the child that he stepped into save.

You had stuck around together alot after that he could always make you laugh when you were sad and he just got you, he was the perfect partner.

But you still felt like you had to keep your regression a secret from him, not to mention wanda.

The two of you got along quite well, it was a journey for to you trust her after all the things she made you re live in your mind but once you gor to know her you understood her perspective.

Everything was going very well except your secretive situation and you weren't the only one who was beginning to notice it.

Your fellow avengers were too.

Everyday they expected their little avenger to come down the stairs and see them but Everyday they had been disappointed and worried.

Everytime you got close to slipping one of the twins would come in and you would fight it off, they were beginning to get very worried.

You were sitting on the sofa watching a show from back home on the ridiculously sized plasma screen that tony had bought for the common room.

Seriously, it was so big that you had to move the sofa back to see the graphics.

A few minutes later you were alerted to natasha coming down the stairs and coming to join you "morning nat" you smiled at her. "Good morning Y/N" she yawned sitting down beside you.

Looking towards you she could see the tension in your features, you looked so uncomfortable.

"Y/N can I ask you a question?" "Yeah okay"

"When was the last time you let yourself regress?"

Yep, you really didn't want that to be the question.

Looking forward you tried to ignore it hoping she would desist with the questions you knew it was a long shot but you figured maybe it would work.

It definitely didn't.

You were so on the edge with all of the questions you could feel yourself slipping each second "please tell me it's at least within the last month" "Tasha please" "the last two" she asked with desperation "tash please" the last three-" "Natasha!" You whined tears slipping down your face "Oh babes I'm sorry" she sighed embracing you gently.

"I didn't mean to make you upset I'm just worried about you" she said moving a stand of hair out of your eyes "I know" you whimpered into her shoulder

"sokovia" you heard her say quietly.

"What?" "Y/N please tell me you've regressed since sokovia." She said tenderly. You remained silent avoiding her eye, lying was never something you were good at.

"Oh honey" she sighed rubbing your arm gently “you know what, I don’t have anything to do today I can help if you want” “no” you mumbled you weren’t going to give in.

“Oh Y/N” she sighed getting up and moving to the kitchenette where all the others were “we need to talk to the twins.”

It had been a few hours since your outburst with Nat, you felt bad about it but at the same time if you regressed then you wouldn’t have been able to come out.

Moving back down the stairs you went looking for Natasha to apologise, you found her and the rest of your fellow avengers sitting in the main room surrounded by your little items and a children’s show playing in the background.

You tried to leave by steve picked you up and placed you on the sofa ignore your kicking.

“Y/N this is not healthy, you need to regress” bruce said sternly turning up the volume on the television slightly.

“But it’s-“ “nuh uh” tony said picking up your soft kitten toy and passing it to you “no arguing little one, you need to regress your regressing”

You had been battling your little mindset for 15 minutes before it took over you, god it felt lovely after so long.

“I’m sorry” you mumbled cuddling onto your soft toy and relaxing into the sofa looking at Nat “oh it’s okay lovely girl” she chuckled placing a kiss on the top of your head.

An hour and a half went by and you were very relaxed, you didn’t fully realise how much you missed it.

All of a sudden you heard two pairs of footsteps coming down the stairs and you sat up and threw your toy to the side.

“Hey hey, what’s all this?” You heard Pietro’s sokovian tongue come towards you, you expected him to get confused and leave the room, but he stayed.

He placed a kiss to the top of your nose and lifted you up onto his hip signalling to Wanda to pick up your kitten.

“It’s okay moya lyubov', I’m staying” he whispered sitting down on the sofa with you laying against his chest “I’m staying”

You had been little for a few days after that due to you being big for so long and pietro got the gist of things pretty quickly, the other avengers told him how you like things and Wanda had a go too in case she ever wanted to babysit you.

You were currently sat on your beanbag with a discarded colouring in book on your left and your soppy cup on your right.

You felt your eyes getting sore and tired completely exhausted “dada” you mumbled softly to pietro reaching over to the sofa “yes nemnogo negodyay?” “I’m tired”

“Let’s get you to bed then” he chuckled lifting you up on his hip, gently placing you down on the bed he pulled the thick duvet over you and passed youa soft toy.

“Have a nice sleep zaychik”
