"I always knew I wasn’t the biggest fake on television…but I almost wish I hadn’t been so right."

You know how the saying goes: she gets it from her momma. And when it comes to Winter that saying couldn’t be more true. Her mother’s side of the family had always been a little kooky, a little strange, with a dash of plain spooky to add to the mix but it was something her father had always said he’d been attracted to. Maybe it’s because ghosts and spirits were the furthest thing away from what his own side of the family was all about and he just needed something a little different to spice up his life. And different is exactly what he got with Sharon Hall, the young star of one the first ‘medium’ shows to air on network television. Sharon had always said that her ‘power’ came from her grandmother, stating that the older woman had been able to talk to ghosts since she was a little girl and that gift had been passed down through the ages to each woman in the family. And, well, to her credit Winter’s mother had been partially correct. 

Winter’s great grandmother did have the gift, as they called it, but it had never been passed down to any of the other girls in her family as far as she knew. Even so, she grew up watching her mother give readings to her clients over the years, faking seances, and rigging up the best special effects money could buy so that she could pass for the real thing. Sharon did her best to emulate the things that she’d seen her grandmother do during her childhood along with a few tricks of the trade of television mediumship and was able to easily fool even the least gullible of people out there. But along the way she had to watch as her father slowly grew tired of the life Sharon was creating for them all. It had been fun when he was younger, he’d liked the adventure that came with everything Sharon was creating, but slowly his side of the family started to wear him down with their lack of amusement towards the life he chose. Eventually, he confronted his wife with an ultimatum, it was him or the show, and surprisingly Sharon agreed to let her career go in favor of a more quiet life.

Only a few short years after her family was cast out of the spotlight, Winter was approached by an executive of the network with an idea for a reboot but this time Spirit Speak would focus on the daughter of the original show. After watching the way television worked over the years and seeing the admiration her mother had gotten, Winter was more than willing to put on her own facade. Turns out, her mother had already laid the groundwork by telling her audience that Winter was already showing signs of the gift throughout her whole career, the lies becoming more and more elaborate with each season that passed. The only problem Winter could see with starting her own career was how nervous she was to tell her family about it. She was an adult, it wasn’t like they could stop her, but she was a classic daddy’s girl who only wanted to please the man with her choices in life. Still, it was something she wanted and Winter had come to find over the years that her father had a hard time saying no to her. 

Turns out, she didn’t have much to worry about. Her mother was ecstatic and after seeing how excited both of his girls were, the patriarch of the family was more than willing to put his apprehension aside to make them happy. And thus, Winter’s new life in the spotlight started. She became pretty popular very quickly with subtle tricks that she had learned from her own mother and a few new ones to add to the mix. Young girls seemed to idolize her, even going so far as to dedicate tik tok channels and twitter pages to Winter, but with popularity comes the haters as well. Rumors of her fraudulence started to spread as the first season aired on Hulu but Winter paid no attention to them. Her silence only fueled more though and a vicious cycle started. With each season not only did her popularity grow but the intense dislike that a certain group of trolls on the internet harbored grew right along with it. She took it all in stride, her confidence overpowering the hurtful words, but with that confidence she’d gotten herself into a few…controversial situations.

The worst of those situations had nothing to do with her online history though. Early in the fourth season, Winter faced the biggest challenge of her career when she staged a seance for one of her clients. She had decided to try something new and that something new had somehow triggered some untapped power that had always been inside of her whether she believed it or not. Suddenly, there was an actual ghost standing next to her and Winter’s life flashed before her eyes as cold fear took over. The girl couldn’t quite shake the incident, especially since that ghost would not leave her alone, and she ended up stopping production altogether after taping only two more episodes. The network was pissed but she couldn’t bring herself to get past the fear that a ghost had triggered inside of her. 

With production on hold and her mother giving her disappointed looks every five seconds, Winter packed up her bags and took off. She couldn’t take the heat while fear continued to penetrate her soul. It had all been too much. She had somehow found herself in a small town three states away that she was sure nobody could find her in while she tried her best to figure out what was going on with her but there was one thing from home that she couldn’t quite shake: the very spirit that had driven her away from her life in the first place.

Character Facts:

Personality: Confrontational, spoiled, confident, intelligent, manipulative, morally obtuse, innovative, resilient

Her mother is the one who instilled in her the love of ghosts and her creativity. Winter watched the older woman on the original Spirit Speak, growing up on the sets since the age of three and learning the art of ghostly manipulation. She loves the childhood that she had despite her father’s regrets of ever letting Winter near this world. She’s become a carbon copy of the woman who birthed her and she’s pretty damn proud of that fact.

In the simplest of terms, she’s a straight up brat. Her father has spoiled her since the day she was born and she’s known for a long time that the man is wrapped around her finger. Winter is used to getting her way and she doesn’t expect that to change now that she’s in Wicked’s Rest whether people are willing to cater to her or not.

The production of the Spirit Speak reboot ground to a halt after the incident with a real ghost. Winter never really believed in the ghost thing so when one suddenly showed up, not to mention one that was awfully grotesque, she lost her cool for the first time in her life. Nobody had ever seen Winter so…vulnerable before. It’s not something she likes to talk about, the crumbling of that image she gave to everyone she’s ever met, and it’s not something she intends to let happen again. Part of the reason she left home and went to Wicked’s Rest was so that she could get control of this situation so her weaknesses wouldn’t show again.

The ghost she accidentally conjured is now following her around. She’s never heard it speak but Winter can’t help but see him everywhere she goes. The twisted flesh of his arm is kind of hard to miss that way. He terrifies her with his appearance and the fact that she has no idea if this thing is harmless or not. But she intends to find a way to get rid of him for good. 

To her fans, she’s known as a benevolent being. Her hard exterior is shed in exchange for a nicer being when she’s in the spotlight. The rumors of her fraudulence were laced with other rumors about an awful personality to match but nobody has ever been able to get hard proof of her cold nature despite her ‘kindness’ sometimes coming off as a little condescending.

I am campaigning for T@gged Season 4 since 2021 and I am Actively Campaigning here in IG and Twitter (carnidfbw705). In fact, i even wanted to add Chandler Riggs from TWD and his Character will be on Elisia played by Katelyn. I am fighting for it since 2021 and to this day i am fighting for it. And i know some of you are still fighting for T@gged Season 4. Some of us even wanted a Browan Endgame. I urge you all to push forward and never stop fighting and never give up.
