Gold occasionally gets wider coverage for his interviews and the like, but really only online. Foreign fans of his tend to vibe with how blunt and critical he is even when a lot of Champions might go for the PR approach. He’s ended up as an internet meme a few times over.

The only other real online exposure he gets is through the streams he’ll do with Lyra / @kotoyin now and again where he’ll analyse battle footage and otherwise just chat. He was originally really awkward but he’s settled into a rythmn with it. There’s usually only a few streams per year though because of Lyra’s university studies over in Galar.

As a side note; Belle loves the streams (when she realised people were watching) and the viewers love her. They always demand she shows up, to which they’ll all collectively lose their shit, keysmash and spam the :pikachonk: emoji. She’ll flex. Its funny.

I wouldn’t say Gold has massive popularity beyond Kanto and Johto though, and even then he’s far more talked about amongst Johto’s youth than over the border (which is understandable). The vast majority of his fanbase is domestic.
