the way trans men who vocally discuss gender with even a basic understanding of transmisogyny & transfeminism are immediately piled on by transmisogynist trans men (& the kinds of ways they're insulted by implying they're "self-hating" or "caving" to women or otherwise implying that they're weak and/or less manly for caring about or being informed about trans women's experiences) almost exactly mirrors the way misogynist cis men treat other cis men who discuss gender with a basic understanding of misogyny & feminism. there are real differences in how cis and trans men move through patriarchy, obviously, but on the level of how men treat women who are more marginalized than they are (how cis men treat cis women; how trans men treat trans women) and on the level of how men police each other to maintain that power and hold the line of misogyny... very consistent.

Could someone take these mods aside and gently explain to them that they run a subreddit, they're not the king of the internet

The process
I think we can all agree there’s some so magical when you’re able to break free of your male shell and explore everything you hide from the world. For me I’ve grown out my hair for about two years it hangs past my shoulders now! When it’s cool enough to wear pants my legs are shaved at almost any point. I’ve worn panties only practically for well over a year. I only wear boy underwear when I absolutely need to (mostly doing yard work or working out where I need a bit more than what the tiny undies can do) my girlfriend keeps my toes always painted and she’s taken me out to get gel manicure a few times. Looking to get an acrylic set sometime in the near future. I can do makeup better than 70% of the girls I’ve know my whole life. I wouldn’t have gone this far if I didn’t see the appeal of it all. I’ve always wanted this ever since I could remember. Being an adult has its drawbacks but it can afford us the freedom to be who we want in a place we feel most comfortable. I am a submissive crossdresser and I’m proud of who I am. I love my life and I can’t wait to dive more into my femininity. I want to learn how to walk better in heels. I want to fit the dresses I buy better. I want to work on a fem voice I think it would really be fun! If anyone know some tricks or tips please let me know!

Let's not forget that English was and remains an imperial language, and that a lot of where this particular energy comes from is rooted in colonial ideologies about 'proper grammar' and evidently so -policing Black people's verbatim, vernacular (AAVE), and inflections (because it is obvious what this teacher is doing in many of these cases) is racist. I find it BEYOND irrepressible when so-called western/European scholars/professors do this without reflecting about how bigoted they are.
This professor calling the words/statements on this list as 'gibberish,' and 'inappropriate' IS degrading and demonizing. And going so far as to say by using anything on this list in your speech you're somehow inferior as academics and as writers... the AUDACITY.
There is a HUGE difference between formal and informal writing -whether it be for a essay, or even an email versus tone policing people in their everyday speech in ways that reinforce racist prejudices about the language people are using. Because this isn't about a student starting their papers with "You ate that up!" without context, it's about what this teacher/Professor is HEARING in their classrooms whether through discussion or before or after classes... I just... a part from letting students express themselves -saying everyone has to speak like they're writing an academic paper is ridiculous nonsense.
Also the fact that she said it's "improper English" when all languages are made up of words -and the English language is just that -MADE UP OF WORDS -and based from a lot from cultures all around the world. Clearly she needs to do her own damn research.
In any case, seeing this boils my blood. Because I have SO much love for teachers who go over and above their roles, versus the slimy racist scum that end up in academic settings like this because people like her shouldn't be teaching.
