The thing is that the most interesting and novel invention of the MCU is a universe where billions of people turned into dust and then were physically reconstituted on the spot five years later, in a world that had just barely adapted to their absence.

That is wild. That is intense! That is a series of pathos-ridden emotionally complex doorstoppers waiting to happen. Half the entire world! All dead! And somehow we coped with that! And now we have to cope with them all being back?

A whole street of empty houses--surely not everyone there became ash. Some of them moved to better places, now opened by the mass mortality. Some of them died afterward. Who will live there now? Even if inheritances are reversed by resurrection, surely leases aren't renewed. What the fuck happens to everyone who remarried?

What happens to the children snapped back to a world where their parents didn't survive, or the reverse?

But they had to then hastily smooth over this utterly batshit sci-fi premise and get the world mostly back to normal working order as rapidly as possible, without too much emphasis on how literally every person in existence has been placed in a mason jar by a narcissist and shaken twice in five years.

So they could get on with more superhero whack-blam business, which is customarily done against a background of Normality.

This is, tragically, the most Comics thing these movies have ever done.

It is beyond satire that they did this immediately before and during a worldwide pandemic that everyone was pressured to smooth over and 'return to normal' about within 2 years if not sooner.

Ik ben zo benieuwd hoe andere nederlanders over de fietshelm drama denken want ik word er zoooo moe van. Lieve amerikanen wij hebben een andere cultuur en andere verkeersindeling. Natuurlijk is helm dragen belangrijk als je hard fietst of om bepaalde redenen langzaam reageert op het verkeer (wielrennen, jonge kinderen, ouderen op Ebike, etc), en moet je m vooral dragen als je dat wil!! Maar je gaat toch ook geen helm dragen tijdens het hardlopen????

I have BUT I'm happy to talk about it again!

So I have a definite plan for a short fic/chaptered fic about the Snap, taking place after the planned events of TRT have all wound down. I've been keeping it a secret whether it's Matt or Jane who goes. I had ideas for how it would happen for each of them (if only one left) and then flipped a coin in true Thanos fashion to see who'd get dusted. I know who it'll be, and... yeah it's not gonna be pretty, or happy, or gentle, not with how afraid they've both been of losing the other, and not when they've had to overcome so much to get and stay together.

BUT I'm also wondering if I shouldn't just do fic versions of both - him going and her. You know, add to the agony. I think that'd be FUN.

The only thing I might release BEFORE we get to that point is an idea I had for if they both go, their thoughts, their final moments of communication in the thread as they embrace one last time and fall to dust together, never to be separated again.

ANYWAY, IT'LL BE HEART-WRENCHING, IT'LL BE GRAND, SOMEONE'S GOING TO THROW BRICKS THROUGH MY WINDOW.

"I see red hair coming back," Steve commented in passing.

The comment made Minho jerk his head up from the computer screen and he looked up at the older Avenger. The former raised a hand to his head and he quickly threaded his fingers through his hair. For a while it had been platinum blonde, but as the remaining Avengers tried to regroup after Thanos snapped most of the world out of existence, his red started to come back. His hair wasn't long enough yet to cut off the blonde, but he planned to clean things up once his hair was a little longer.

"About time," Minho murmured. "Never thought I'd miss my red, but I did. Last time I did a color change was when I was 12."

Steve paused on his way to the kitchen and chuckled as he tried to picture the former spy with a different hair color as a kid. "Also blonde?"

Minho shook his head no and he shared that it was blue. "Well it looked green blue to some people. I don't think I left the dye in long enough, but it was the 90s and dye wasn't exactly the best when you bought it from the drugstore."

The older Avenger crossed his arms over his chest and tried to imagine the spy with blue hair. He chuckled and shook his head, murmuring that the whole rainbow hair colors concept was still new to him. "You can call me old for remembering this," he began, "but I remember when salon red hair was shocking. Perms were sold in boxes but weren't the best, compared to going to a real salon. Pretty sure salons were glad they had control over the hair color business because it was really tricky to do by yourself back then." He nodded at the computer Minho was on and asked what was new.

Before Minho could respond, he saw Felix emerge from the kitchen with two mugs.

The silver haired male flashed Steve a polite smile before putting one mug down in front of Minho.

The spy turned his head to thank the other for the hot beverage, but was surprised when he received a quick peck on the lips from Felix.

The older Avenger decided to excuse himself to prepare food for himself and Felix plunked himself down in the chair next to Minho's.

"Thanks for the drink," Minho said. "What was the kiss for?"

Felix had his mug raised to his lips and he shrugged, trying to look casual.

This made Minho snort and he shook his head at the young man. "I didn't date Steve if that's what that was about."

"Oh I never assumed you did," Felix remarked as he moved his mug from his lips, "but I heard you guys kissed while on the run from Rumlow."

"It was his idea! Rumlow didn't pay any attention to us and we got out of the mall without shots being fired," Steve called out from the kitchen.

"Thanks Steve, apparently Felix is experiencing first Avenger jealousy and needs to be reminded that we're a team, especially in this situation," Minho added with a wiry smile.

The comment earned a chuckle from Steve and Felix sputtered as he looked at Minho, then the kitchen area.

"Hey!"

"Jokes aside, I was about to conference in Carol, Okoye, Rhodey, and the weird talking raccoon thing," Minho sighed as he began queuing up for a call on the channel he created for any disturbances and strange things happening all over.

"I'll keep it down in the kitchen," Steve promised.

"Talking raccoon?" Felix piped up, looking interested.

"It's not the cute animatronic you find at Disneyland..." Minho warned before he pressed the button to start the call.

I almost never see it in fics but the idea of the power stone choosing Peter as its guardian solely for the "with great power comes great responsibility" line greatly amuses me. In the mcu Peter bumbles and fumbles with his powers quite a lot but most other variations I've seen largely show they're successful in taking their self appointed responsibilities seriously, tragedies aside. Seeing as power choosing Peter would already be an au, I think it stands to reason Peter could grow into it yknow? Instead of constantly being an idiot (as he should tbh he's a teenage boy with superpowers, he's gonna be stupid)
