Like I don’t know if it’s the subtle smiles, or Cas constantly showing more affection towards Dean, or what? But it has definitely changed this season especially since that Empty Deal was made and I’m excited (and scared tbh) to see it grow throughout the rest of the show!

late seasons wincest just gets to me on an entirely different level tbh. preseries/early seasons is a completely different animal and I’m SICK over that too. Always will be. But as a newbie to the late seasons 11-15 are just so. So. Like. those men are so old and weathered and world weary and emotionally stunted in almost every conceivable way. they’ve been through so much utter SHIT and haven’t gotten any sort of break or had any time to recover from anything they’ve been through in 15 years. and yet they are still so unbelievably tender and soft towards each other. And they still love being together more than anything else. and they still want to go on hunts just the two of them. and Dean wants them to wear couples costumes to help Sam get over his hatred of Halloween. Hmmm well it sure is interesting that in the s13 finale when Lucifer was killed, Nick survived, as it brings up a lot of interesting ethical issues and questions. Like Cas and Mary for example say they can barely even look at the guy cause they're so traumatised by him. Thank god we have Sam then, who has zero history with Lucifer to help him get better. Thank god Sam was never possessed or stuck with the guy for a prolonged period of time, or suffered immeasurable torture committed by him that ruined his soul to the point that people thought he would be brain dead the second it was put in his body, and then spent months in a psychotic break hallucinating him torture and mock him all over again to the point it almost killed him, and then for once thought he was receiving divine visions from god but it was actually Lucifer wiggling his way out of the cage - only to target him once again by pulling the string he knew would be the only thing that could possibly bring Sam back to him. Yeah. Thank god for that. Now Sam can deal with him.

Dean being the one to point the gun at Jack. Being the Abraham father figure???? Insane. Cas loved him no matter what. Sam always saw him as useful. But Dean saw himself being in the position John was in when he told Dean to kill Sam if he turned evil. Genuinely thinking that your son, whom you love so much, has truly turned dark side. Killed your mother in seeming cold blood. And then to stand there, have him look you in the face and submit as you point a gun at his head, knowing it will physically kill you too. God it’s so fucked. And if Jack had tried to fight him, he would have killed him too. But he didn’t and Dean couldn’t look Jack in the eyes and see the evil he had conjured up in his mind cause it wasn’t there, it was just the little kid in big kid clothing that he had grown to love. Fucking hell
