Monthly Update (April 2024)
Hello everyone, it's Chattercap!
I apologize for the slightly late April devlog, but I was in a bit of a daze after the MindMindMind release! Wow, March went by in a flash for me! Let's get down to it!
I released not one, but TWO games this month! (If you missed them, you can find the links in my pinned!)
Kanau
Tumblr media
I spent the first part of the month programming and ironing out the Kanau release. I added mini CGs to my VN framework and also added the ability to rename your save files. After that, it was full steam ahead with actually implementing everything - all of the art, BGM, SFX, VA, and GUI, including updating the gallery. I also set up the itch page and put together some social media announcements. Since the content warnings were pretty stark with this one, I also added a trigger warning screen. After that, I had the game beta tested, and it was released by the 8th!
After that I…took a few days break, haha! (I should have gotten straight to work on MMM, but alas, I always enter some kind of trance right after a game release!)
MindMindMind
Tumblr media
For the first part of the month, I was mainly scripting as I needed to get the script done for the VAs as quickly as possible. MMM was my QUICKEST script to date, as I finished 20k words in less than 10 days, wow! (I think that the relatively simplistic prose, with a heavy emphasis on dialogue, helped a lot.) During that time I also reviewed the MMM voice acting auditions and made my selections; in addition, I made the promo artwork and reached out to someone for background photos.
After I was out of my post Kanau-release trance, I immediately started work on the sprites! Kalei's sprite was easy to finish, although Geist's sprite took a bit of time (I kept messing up his face…). I also finished all of the backgrounds and then started work on the CGs; I managed to finish one CG per day! While I was doing that, I also cleaned and adjusted the VA samples. On the final week of the month, I animated all of the art and then basically did the same things for MMM that I did for Kanau - adding all of the art, sound, and GUI, making the itch page, updating the gallery. I also put together a walkthrough and implemented name and pronoun selection. I managed to get MMM ready for beta-testing by the 25th, and I spent the rest of the time prepping VA announcements and putting together the artbook! MMM was released on the 29th!
Other
With new game releases comes a myriad of little tasks! I submitted both Kanau and MMM to IMDB and updated my carrd, Tumblr, Twitter, and patreon. I also added MMM to Steam! (It's here! You can wishlist it if you want; I'll probably upload it there fairly soon.)
And then…after MindMindMind I entered my post-game release coma again. I think I did a few things (started sketching the Hanasu cover art and an updated art for Actala, started a commission for an updated Actala logo, and continued writing the Hanasu script, but I'll be honest I've been in a bit of a daze…)
I'm really blown away with the reception that MMM has received, and I'm happy that so many people have played and enjoyed it; I'll upload a postmortem sometime soon, haha!
What's on the docket for next month?
Amare Jam is going on this month, and I hope to finish The Deepwater Witch for it! There are only a few CGs (and some optional mini CGs) to do, so I think I can! In addition, I want to finish the Hanasu script this month. After TDW is finished, I'll be working on Actala - doing updated backgrounds, sprites, and CGs. I want to work on both a Hanasu release and an updated Actala demo for a summer-ish timeframe (whether I can get both done for Otome Jam remains to be seen…)
If you want to hear from me more often, I also post frequently on my Patreon with sketches, writing snippets, sneak peeks, high resolution art, and weekly devlogs.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read; your support means the world to me! I'll see you next month!

I honestly agree with you on everything after ragnarok is not canon. Although I love Thor ragnarok, it’s an entertaining movie and ive seen it more times then I should, thinking about it now I’ve never seen Thor ragnarok as canon. it’s just been a movie that’s really shitty but entertaining, and funny when you don’t have context about the characters.
I just hate that it’s so disrespectful to the actual characters. AND what’s even worse, is that I did not even consider the movie disrespectful to the characters until I was on tumblr and found threads of old posts/things you’ve reblogged on why it is.
And everything after it, has come tumbling after.
People need to realise there’s a difference between entertaining cinema, vs actual good Quality cinema. Especially with something like marvel because it’s all “connected”. Marvel is choosing quantity over quality and it’s clearly showing.
Yup. Marvel-Disney has become the 'Five Minute Crafts' of movie making. They're pumping out multiple shows and movies annually, but there's hardly any substance to them anymore. Nothing actually connects in this so-called cinematic universe, but the promos and interviews will try to fool you into believing it.
There's no cohesive story, only easter eggs abound. They're mostly meaningless, because most of them have their roots in different storylines in the comics, not the movies. Like, wtf was Thanoscopter doing in the Loki series? Or why was Sylvie wearing the broken crown (which was originally worn by AoA Loki for very specific reasons)?
Moreover, every new entity boasts of bringing in a drastic change into the multiverse or having a powerful character like no other before them. Yet, all of this is forgotten in the next entity they release. Rinse repeat.
The problem with Ragnarok was that it wanted to be funnier and bigger than GOTG--a movie that somewhat broke the mold for MCU movies at that time. It constituted an unlikely team of antiheroes who became heroic, and it had a more zany kind of humour to it.
What Ragnarok didn't note was that GOTG had heart. It had zany humour, yes, but it also had plenty of poignant moments. It didn't make a joke out of everything, most certainly not the characters. Every character was handled carefully, their trauma and loss acknowledged despite their negative actions.
Ragnarok failed supremely at this. Bruce turned into a parody of anxiety attacks and 'useless' nerdiness (7 PhDs but can't fly a ship, haha). Loki--a character of a subjugated race, taken from his people, raised to hate his own race, a clear victim of Asgard's imperialistic and colonial agenda, was made fun of for simply existing. His trauma was ignored, his relationship to Thor was twisted to make Thor into a victim, and instead, his main oppressor, Odin, was glorified despite his war crimes and invasions. What more, the fact that Thor left Loki to die on Sakaar was glossed over and made into a joke. Valkyrie (she still doesn't have a name, even post l&t) was introduced as a slave trader (does anyone find it sus that a woman of colour was shown as a slave trader?) and this part of her life was never acknowledged again, not even by Bruce, even though she traded the hulk to the GM.
Thor...sigh, where do I even begin? Gone was the considerate and thoughtful Thor we had seen in TDW, the Thor who acknowledged his father's bad decisions and tried to counter them by putting his own life on the line. Gone was the Thor who held his dying brother in his arms and cried. Granted, canon Thor had his issues to overcome, but he was never crass and inconsiderate like Ragnarok Thor. Ragnarok not only uprooted Thor from his growing self awareness and growth, it uprooted him wholly from Asgard. Killed off his friends and killed off his home. And made a joke about it all.
There's so much more to say about that trash movie and it's confused purpose, but all in all, it put the first nail into the whole franchise' coffin. L&T is only a continuation of that, based in the same theme of ridicule and distasteful humour.
What rankles is that it could've been a great movie, had Chris and Taika taken their heads out of their respective asses for a bit to think it over. But they were too busy making toilet level jokes and jerking around the sets, ignoring the script (which btw had Thor admitting to his mistakes to Loki) and just improvising everything with their bs logic. Taika didn't even do his research on the characters.
And that's something he's proud of. A theme that has continued with the creators in other Marvel entities too.
I just feel very sad about it. Because phase 1 (even 2) Marvel was something if quality. Now, the characters these phases had established are either (unfairly) dead or completely unrecognisable. I no longer have any sense of anticipation for their new stuff. I don't even want to watch new movies or shows.*
Anyhow, thanks for visiting my askbox. ♥️
*Moon Knight is the only exception, and you'd note the show had no prominent easter eggs or even mentions of other characters from the MCU. Mayhe there's something to be said about that.

I was done with that podcast after the whole "Hemsworth doesn't complain thing". Like in what world? The only times he didn't complain was Thor 1. During Ragnarok all we heard was how much he was dissatisfied with TDW and now same for L&T.
Right?
He basically threatened to not return unless Taika directed, then made sure the 'new Thor' was in IW (obviously he should be, but still, the fact that he seemed upset that it might not happen??). Plus of course, his whole IW promo deal.

Taika is kown for his comedy and unique style. However some marvel fans are upset over a thirty seconr thor 4 promo because loki wasnt mentioned in the recap. I too find it weird but come on guys
I personally don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I miss Loki so much but if they don’t want Loki part of this one, that’s fine! There’s already so much happening in the movie.
Also a lot of people don’t want to hear this but Loki stans want to be the center of the fandom all the time and it’s getting annoying. Especially when Loki has been the center this whole time. Six movies and a TV show and Loki stole the show with all of them. Every comic con, talk show, and award show Tom’s attended has been followed with an adoring crowd.
In TDW they wanted to kill Loki off but test screenings showed people wanted him alive so they kept him. In Age of Ultron, Loki was meant to be in Thor’s dream sequence but it was a concern he would, again, steal the show.
Keeping Loki out of the spotlight for awhile isn’t a bad thing and it doesn’t mean Marvel doesn’t like him. Thor hasn’t had his own movie or his own story that wasn’t upstaged. I don’t think that it’s unreasonable for them to want to try to give Thor his own thing without Loki.
Do I want more Loki? YES! All the time! Make it the Loki Cinematic Universe! I’m ready! Do I want him in every Thor movie? FUCK YEAH! But that’s not what the MCU was initially made for. It was for many stories and many characters and unfortunately we just have to wait until it’s Loki’s turn again. And it soon will be.
You all are welcome to disagree with this opinion but this is what I’ve seen while quietly watching.
One thing I will criticize marvel is not putting him in the Marvel opening sequence. THAT I think sucks when his story is important to phase 4 and idk why he’s left out but there better be a good reason.

First thoughts on the new trailer
This trailer is heavily weighted to the set up for the show, showing us stuff that presumably happens early on in the series.
It makes it look like he’s captured almost immediately after he escapes with the tesseract, but if so, where does the desert scene from the first trailer fit in? I assume it must be beforehand because in this scene in the trailer he already has the time displacement collar on.
Tumblr media
Although in the desert scene he doesn’t seem to have the Tesseract. So how does he end up in the desert? It seems to be a surprise to him when he wakes up there. And how much happens between then and his arrival at the TVA?
It confirms the premise is about Loki fixing the break in the timeline that his stealing the Tesseract caused. (What happens after it’s fixed? Does this mean Loki goes back to Asgard to the dungeons, TDW, Ragnarok and ultimately dies in Infinity War again? If so, is this another “vengeance, and afterward this cell” kind of moment? I can’t imagine Loki going for that option.)
This scene did make me smile. But also interesting that its showing us that this is not an unusual happening.
Tumblr media
They also talk about “this Loki variant” which I assume means they’ve had run-ins with other versions of Loki.
So it seems having people fall through the ceiling is a standard mode of travel within the TVA? We’ve seen it twice now in two different scenes. I’m gonna guess it’s just part of a montage showing us how zany the TVA is.
So they sign Loki up… to do… what? How does going after people with knives help fix the timeline? Still plenty of explanation to come.
They used the Bifrost travel effect images again – is this really suggesting the Bifrost? They show what I assume is a different way to travel for the TVA with them walking through a portal of sorts. So why this as well if it's not actually travel via the Bifrost?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Asgard!!!! Eeeeeee!!!!!
Tumblr media
We get Thor 1 Loki from the looks of the costume, but I can’t see the details well enough. It’s not the Thor 2011 throne room set, looks more like the Ragnarok one, but they don’t appear to have an issue with sets changing for each film, so my guess is that it’s still in the Thor 1 timeline based on the costume. But who are the people seated around him? They don’t look like the Warriors Three or anyone we’re familiar with, so does this mean we get to see different events in this timeline? I hope so! I’m just excited we seem to be getting a little bit more of Asgard!
Where is this place? I assume these are not of Asgard but just fitted nicely next to the throne room scene because they have similar architecture? And why the crazy camera angle?
Then later in the trailers there's this scene in what looks like a library in the same building. Still no idea what's going on tho.
Tumblr media
MAGIC!!!!!! Finally!!!! <3
Tumblr media
I’m really not a fan of this whole stabbing conversation. Nuff said.
Tumblr media
Loki and … Loki? Another character? They’re very purposely not showing her face in any of the promo material so far.
Tumblr media
I like the bits we’re seeing of Loki keeping up his appearance of knowledge and control of the situation. And the line from Mobius -“Luckily he believes in himself enough for the both of us.” makes it seem he is still trying to take some power over the situation and has confidence in himself. I’m glad to see this because I was a little worried that they would strip him of that to make it funny. Same goes for “It is adorable that you think you can manipulate me. I’m ten steps ahead of you.” I really hope they're not just setting up for a fall and some comedy.
And lastly, I really like this image, all windswept and sleeves rolled up. Seems particularly vulnerable in a thin shirt in that apocalyptic landscape.
Tumblr media
So that was fun. Some really cool stuff, some things I can live with for the sake of more Loki.  Really just looking forward to seeing how this plays out now.

Where does all this hate for TDW suddenly come from? I remember clearly when it came out fans were happy with it, despite a whole 20 mins cut. All we saw was critics falling over themselves praising Tom, that it needs more Loki etc. - Tom doing the promo tour pretty much on his own, with China LOVING him. Now I see, TDW got "mixed reviews", is the least interesting of the MCU films, both untrue. Never mind CH crapped on it suddenly, doesn't want Loki back, and behaves like an ahole towards Tom.
TDW got mixed reviews. It wasn’t a flawless movie. But that’s true for all the Marvel movies. They generally have writing problems, plot holes and one dimensional villains. But I too remember that fans loved it at the time. From what I’ve gathered of pro-TR fans their reason for not liking previous movies are either they didn’t like the Shakspearean tone, or they thought the movies weren’t true to comics. Some of them also were Thor fans who hated Loki and same as CH wasn’t happy with him outshining Thor. This is also the reason why CH doesn’t want Loki back.
Personally I liked TDW despite its flaws. I was happy with the consistent characterization and character arcs and in fact it was the movie that motivated me to see Avengers which I previously knew nothing about it. If I saw TR as the first MCU movie, I would never wanted to watch another one. That’s for sure.
Sorry for answering so late dear anon. I was on a long hiatus. This ask was sent to me on September 20, 2019.

I’m relatively new to marvel and I was wondering why you don’t like Hemsworth? I absolutely understand and agree with not liking Waititi (in terms of how he progressed the plot in Ragnarok and how he treated Loki and other characters)... but if there’s something either or both Hemsworth or Waititi did that made you/the fandom not like them, what is it?
Hi, Nonnie.
Ok, so strap in. Cuz this will probably get long.
First off, it’s not so much that I don’t like Hemsworth. It’s more I’m disappointed in his progression as an actor and celebrity in Hollywood. Frankly, when I first saw Thor no one in the cast really stuck with me except Kat Dennings bc I knew her already and loved her work. (Yeah I knew who Natalie Portman was but I’ve had issues with her since Star Wars — long story). It wasn’t until Avengers that I really caught on to the Hiddlesmania. In those days, 2012 and up through The Dark World, there was a very sweet, very genuine bromance going on between Hemzy and Hiddles. They really were “brothers from another mother.” They were adorable together. I remember in one press event with the entire cast Hemzy and Hiddles were making faces at each other across the table and when a reporter asked Hiddles who his fave Avenger was, before he could answer, Hemzy shouted, “Your brother!” There was a very beautiful connection between them. What happened to that? It’s anyone’s guess, but here’s what happened for me.
Leading up to the release of TDW, I might have found it weird that the, like, fourth-billed actor, and the previous film’s “villain,” was chosen to basically lead the global promotion. It was Hiddles, by his lonesome, in Mexico, Australia, China, etc. And he killed it. And it started pretty much with his appearance at Comic-Con that July. We ALL remember that. Why wasn’t Hemzy participating in any of this promo? Idk. I’m pretty sure he was filming Snow White & the Huntsman, or something. Still, it was interesting and telling that Marvel chose to utilize Hiddles’ very apparent popularity. Hell, they chose not to kill Loki because of his popularity.
So it would be about three years before Hemzy and Hiddles came back together again to film Ragnarok. And between that time, Hemzy filmed six movies and Hiddles filmed eight. During that time, also, Hiddles pulled a 180° on everybody and participated in what was the most ridiculous, career-destroying antic he could ever participate in. If you don’t know what I mean, just Google Tom and the Summer of 2016. It’s my opinion that that whole event had a damaging affect on not only Tom’s image in the industry, but I think it made his colleagues and friends question how well they really knew him. And I think it hindered his bankability for filmmakers. Basically it wasn’t a good move for him. The moment I first noticed a change in Hemzy’s behavior with Hiddles was at a Wizard World convention in the middle of the PR nightmare and the beginning of filming Ragnarok in 2016.
During their panel onstage, Hemzy seemed oddly quiet and tense even. He didn’t seem all that interested in being there or answering questions. And Hiddles was like an anxious puppy, overcompensating for Hemzy’s lackluster demeanor. I’m not the only one who’s noticed it, but no one can really pinpoint why. Was Hemzy upset that Tom was “dating” that chick? Was he upset at how obviously out of character it was? I’m guessing there was more to it because the filming of Ragnarok, and it’s result, speak volumes about what Hemzy was apparently feeling.
There are clips and interviews from the set of Raganarok and during promo with Waitidiot and Hemzy where they are very vocal about making sure Hemzy was the star of the movie “because it’s called Thor.” Waitidiot even referred to Loki as a goth orphan or something. Overall they were very critical of and condescending toward Tom and Loki. In the few interviews Hemzy and Hiddles did together, that old spark between them wasn’t there. There’s a lot about Ragnarok I don’t like. Hela was underused, Valkyrie was underused, Skurge deserved better. But, of course, what I hate most about it is the awful way they treat Loki through the whole thing. The way Thor became a bigger bully than he already was. The way he just wanted to wash his hands of Loki — which continued with the fucking Russo brothers who couldn’t put their stupid heads together long enough to realize Loki deserved to have his revenge on Thanos just like Nebula and even Wanda did. Loki deserved to be on that field fighting next to his brother, dammit.
Anyway….since Ragnarok promo i was kind of side-eyeing Hemzy. He literally behaved like a spoiled brat who found a friend who believed his bullshit (feeling overshadowed by Loki; which I think extended to feeling inferior in some way to Tom, a very gifted, educated actor compared to Hemzy who kind of fell into acting. There’s nothing wrong with where Hemzy started; but his choices in the last few years speak for themselves. 🤷🏽‍♀️) and they teamed up to bully the brainy guy. So then Infinity War promo came around and Hiddles was paired with Sebastian Stan and Letitia Wright and Paul Bettany, I think. I loved him with Sebastian (I ship WinterFrost), but it was weird that he wouldn’t be paired up at some point with Hemzy. But then Hemzy wasn’t doing any promo — wait what?? Yeah. Hemzy skipped out on Shanghai I believe. Then he said he couldn’t be at another place bc he got in an accident and injured his elbow ??? Then the next day he posted an IG live where he’s driving?? And his elbow is loosely wrapped in an ACE bandage??? That actually falls off during the video?? And then he was supposed to be somewhere for another promo, said he couldn’t make it, and was spotted camping off the coast of Australia with Matt Damon’s family??? It was all very suspish.
Speaking of Damon, don’t get me started on the bullshit scene in the last Jay & Silent Bob movie where he literally trashed Tom and his portrayal of Loki. Fuck off, Damon. Go suck Ben Affleck’s dick already.
Anyway. All the Ragnarok stuff and his behavior during IW promo and his seeming dismissal of Hiddles completely has just rubbed me the wrong way. Added to that, it just feels like Hemzy isn’t really in the business to hone his craft. It feels like he’s in it for the money. And yeah that’s a great benefit of acting in Hollywood. But he doesn’t seem to choose quality roles anymore. I liked him in Blackhat. I liked Rush. He was really good in Bad Times at the Royale, but it feels like all he wants to do now are formula action movies with no depth, no growth, where he just has to flex his muscles and give a charming smile. Which is fine but that gets tired after awhile (just ask Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude VanDamme). So right now, I want nothing to do with Love and Thunder — which is one of the stupidest movie names I’ve heard in awhile. And frankly I just don’t want to watch Hemzy not try to be his best. If I want mindless action with no real plot, I’ve got the Fast and Furious franchise. 🤷🏽‍♀️
Hope this answers your question, Nonnie. Thanks for asking. Let me know, if I can clarify anything for you.
xoxo, La

Re: Tom speaking with a Scottish accent: there's a clip of him quoting the movie Chariots of Fire, because a) he's a runner, and b) it's his dad's (?) favourite movie, but I can't find it again, perhaps someone around here knows what I'm talking about? It's from a Marvel promo, he's next to Hemsworth, and Tom's wearing a black trouser/waistcoat+white shirt combo, looking downright edible. Might be Thor: The Dark World, but I'm not 100%. I'd love a link to that clip!
So, I did some digging for that video I think I know what interviews you mean- I watched most of the ones I could find and I have to tell you that I have to thank you for that because it was a lovely little probably hour of my life I spent with the happy, flirty, lovefest that was the Thor TDW promo tour.
Tom and Chris were just deep in that Bromance - long gazing stares, lots of rubbing and touching, lots of giggles and laughing and complementing each other. Damn, that really was a great time to be alive, for them.

They’ve lied to themselves for so many years - about Tom not wanting a relationship or kids, particularly - and surrounded themselves with ppl who believe that lie. It really is QAnon type behaviour.
The man literally say on multiple occasions that he wanted a family. How can they be so illogical? Wait, what am I saying? Illogical is their baseline. I guess in their minds whe Tom says he can't wait to show his children "The Jungle Book", he clearly meant the kids from TDW promo.
The lack of logic is based on the idea that everything he says/does is PR... he only said that to make him seem like someone who wants a family, according to them. He couldn't possibly 'actually' want that himself.

confession time!  i’ve only watched tdw twice in my life, and one of those times was back when it was in theaters, and i, quite frankly, fell asleep sometime after loki died and woke up when the credits were going so i managed to completely miss the scene where it was revealed that loki was still alive.  i then proceeded to manage to avoid anything to do with loki (in tdw) for the next four years.  and, like, when ragnarok came out i didn’t watch any trailers or look at any promo posters or anything, i just. went to see it.  so imagine my surprise when loki showed up, alive and well.  i’m pretty sure i turned to my mom and just “didn’t that asshole die?!”
the second time i watched tdw was the day after i saw ragnarok bc i didn’t believe my mom when she said he really was shown alive at the end of tdw

Thor Ragnarok Thoughts & Opinions
Heavy spoilers under the cut! You’ve been warned.
The bad
I liked the movie overall, so I thought I’d start out with the few things that bugged me...
- Hela being Thor and Loki’s sister. Now, I don’t really mind this idea in and off itself, and I get why they didn’t want to make her Loki’s daughter like she is in mythology, but making her their long-lost sister did raise a few questions for me: First of all, does that mean we’re never going to see Angela in the MCU? Because honestly, I’d sell my soul for a movie about Angela and Sera. I mean, come on, Thor and Loki’s older sister they never knew, who’s a badass lesbian and literally goes to Hel to save her equally badass trans girlfriend... If Hela was supposed to replace that storyline, I’d be dissapointed. The second thing that bugged me about Hela being Odin’s daughter is that she doesn’t look like him at all? Her whole aesthetic with the black hair, green clothing and horns was very Loki-esque and I didn’t quite see the point of that if she’s not supposed to be (biologically) related to Loki? Did Loki just happen to randomly have very similar looks and a very similar fashion sense as the long-lost adopted sister he never knew? Also, I always had the headcanon that Loki’s looks (black hair while the rest of the family is blonde etc.) contributed to him being an outsider in Asgard, so I’m not quite sure how I feel about one of Odin’s biological kids literally looking the same. Also, this made me wonder if we’re ever going to see Lady Loki in the MCU. Because that’s another thing I really wanna see.
- The scene where Thor electroshocks Loki and then leaves him behind while he’s in pain. Enough said.
- That BruceNat bullshit again. This was why I didn’t want Bruce in this movie. I get that the writers couldn’t just ignore stuff that happened in Age of Ultron, but god, why did they have to remind me of that abomination of a movie?
- Am I seriously supposed to believe that Doctor Strange, a mortal, is more powerful that Loki, an actual god? Nope. I don’t buy it.
- Where was Sif? (Also, holy shit, did they really kill off the Warriors Three just like that?)
- So how did Loki survive in TDW?
The good
Now, on to the stuff I liked!
- Loki writing theatre plays about himself and having them performed in front of all of Asgard. This was something I didn’t know I needed until I saw it. Honestly, that was easily my favourite scene in the movie, hands down. It was definitely a funny scene, but it was so full of little things that made it meaningful. First of all, I’d like to note the fact that the play was only a little bit more dramatic than what actually happend. Loki didn’t even change that much about how he ‘died’. Also, I love that Loki finally gets to tell his own version of his story to the people of Asgard. Not Odin’s or Thor’s version, but his own. And people are finally listening to him and appreciating him. I get that the scene was meant to be funny, but I mean this in a completely serious way. Also, can we talk about Loki including his Jotun heritage in the play and therfore making it public to all of Asgard? And how the Asgardians are just fine with it? They don’t think it makes him a monster or anything less than their prince? And that must be so healing for Loki to see as well? He’s staring to accept himself and that’s so beautiful???
- Also, I found it really touching how despite everything Odin’s done to him, Loki clearly still loves him. First of all, he didn’t kill him at the end of TDW, and only banished him to a retirement home on Midgard instead? I’d say that’s surprisingly merciful. And then, even in his play he doesn’t make Odin the bad guy, and instead shows him as this loving father who’s “heart melted” when he met Loki? (Granted, that might have something to do with the fact that he’s currently impersonating Odin, so portraying him as a villain or tyrant might have backfired, but still.)
- Odin’s death scene actually made me so emotional?? I really didn’t expect that. Odin’s my most hated character in these movies and I thought I’d just be happy when he died, but they managed to make his death so sad and sweet?? He told Thor and Loki he loved them?? And Loki made that face and you could tell how much it meant for him to hear that, despite everything Odin’s done to him?? And then he praises Loki’s magic and says “Frigga would have been proud”?? And Loki looks like he’s about to cry?? And... that scene was just so full of feels I’m????
- The grandmaster hitting on Loki. That clip we know from the promos where the grandmaster is obviously giving Loki bedroom eyes is one thing. But then also later Loki says something like “I won the grandmaster’s favour” (not sure what exactly he says in English since I had to watch the German dub). And then there’s that scene where Loki wants to leave when he sees the Hulk and the grandmaster suddenly stops him by getting into his personal space and saying “Where do you think you’re going?” with that seductive smirk... Yeah, they probably had sex at some point.
- Which brings me to the next point: I love how this was the first Thor movie that at least hinted at Loki’s queerness. It still wasn’t explicit, unfortunately, but at the very least it’s clear that Loki understood the grandmaster was hitting on him. (@MCU writers: Make him bi in canon, you cowards!)
- Everything about Valkyrie. Awesome badass character, super intersting & likable, awesomely played. Having more women of colour in mainstream movies is always great, and Tessa Thompson saying she wanted to be faithful to Valkyrie’s bisexuality from the comics gets a big thumbs up from me. (Again, sad that it wasn’t explicit, but I’ll take what I can get.) Also, that woman who died in front of her in the flashback? Was her girlfriend. I’ll fight you on his.
- Thor saying he wanted to be a Valkyrie as a kid before finding out they were all women. Precious <3
- Seeing Thor and Loki’s brotherly relationship and hearing more about their childhood. Also, Thor saying he’s always loved snakes.
- Loki calling Bruce by his first name, while even Thor calls him “Banner”. I’m not gonna lie, I used to really ship Loki and Bruce back when the first Avengers was released, so that was just a nice little detail I liked.
- Heimdall being a badass. (That moment where he greets Loki with “I saw you coming. Welcome home”??? MY HEART)
- The whole lovestory-plot and earth-plot from the previous Thor movies just not being a thing. HALLELUJAH. (Also: “Sorry Jane dumped you!” :D)
- The fact that there was no love story in this at all. Hell yes. Thor and Loki got to focus on their brotherly relationship instead and Valkyrie got to be a badass female character without needing to be shoehorned into some romantic subplot. Good shit.
- Loki actually coming to save the people of Asgard?!?!?! He could have just abandonend them, but he came back and helped make sure everyone was safe?? I honestly wouldn’t call him a villain anymore at this point.
- Loki’s proud smirk when Thor discovers his powers. He’s like “That’s my bro!”
- “If you were really here, I might even hug you.” “I’m here.”
- Loki standing by Thor’s side in the end? They’ve come so far <3
And there’s probably more  but that’s all I can think of rn
