I don't completely disagree with the documentary post you reblogged, but I do think her feminism mainly comes out when something specifically effects her. I also think it's a bit messed up that she doesn't defend people her Swifties are attacking at times either.

Mainly though, I think it's fans that sold themselves on the idea of Taylor being an amazing activist. She wasn't. Maybe it made them feel better? But she was never as good as some people like to act. It's like Trixie Mattel recently said about rainbow washing - they use to accept crumbs of acknowledgement like music videos, but now...it's not enough.

I just like how that post highlighted how Taylor never vowed to become a political activist, just that she now felt confident to use her voice to speak on issues she cares about and has in depth knowledge of, like things pertaining to the music industry and artists rights. I feel like there needs to be a balance because yes, people should speak up when something isn’t right, but there are some topics where Taylor’s voice should not be the loudest in the room, so like I said, there needs to be a balance.

And some Swifties are looney tunes and go after people in the most unhinged ways for the most deranged reasons and Taylor is never going to directly acknowledge them because it would give them the attention they are seeking and then embolden them to be 10x worse, because they think it’ll get them her attention again. If things get out of hand, Taylor has her ways of addressing the situation, like when the Sza mess happened, that’s how Taylor moves
