Movies from the future!
Posting a few pop art homages to Troma co-founder and independent filmmaking legend Lloyd Kaufman for today’s daily art post!
PEOPLE OF TROMAVILLE, THE TOXIC AVENGER IS HERE! I made a little pin to identify myself for those unaware of the fine cinematic masterpiece (still no one knew who I was at tonight’s party)
I had Toxie on the brain all month while making my Halloween costume, so time to put one of my really textured canvas boards to good use!
6’‘x6" acrylic, It’s for sale so you can own your very own visage of Toxie for like, $30.
Today in superhero cult film history: on October 8, 2000 Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV debuted at Sitges.
Why does this yank on my brain on a regular basis? WHY?!
The Hawkins boys and the Toxic Avenger
When the boys from Hawkins watched “the Toxic Avenger” and the hit-and-run scene came up, they vomited and/or walked out. Finding out about how said scene was inspired by Lloyd Kaufman’s real-life trauma of hitting his sister with a car helped lead them to eventually being associated with Troma.
Let the Marathon begin…
I met Lloyd Kaufman the other day at monster mania. really nice guy!
I have a lot of appreciation that rather than making ppl wait in a line for a meet and greet, he just kinda stood by the troma booth and signed shit for free and offered pictures!
got a signed blu-ray of Toxic Avenger
