On the topic of Tokyo Ghoul being difficult to adapt I think it might have the only scene in the history of anime where playing the OP over the big fight was a BAD idea. I know anime 101! But the thing is thats like for hype action moments! For "oh hell yas". For stuff like naruto, demon slayer; sailor moon. Maybe even cute or somber shojo moments. Like the romance finally going somewhere and kissing.
Not for tragic fucked up fights. Kaneki V Jason in the manga feels like a hollow victory. Sure Kaneki wins but you cant shake that hes been fundamentally changed forever by Jason. Its satisfying to see him fuck his tormenter up. But its equally upsetting.
By playing Unravel, in its wholly original state, it changes the vibe. Suddenly its more of an "oh hell ya, cool anime moment" and less of an "oh fuck oh shit oh god no we've lost him". Its possible this could have worked if they did an instrumental version. But im still not sure it would have worked.
It leans more into the hype instead of the horrific and I think thats a flaw.

I was enjoying a lot of different content over the last year and I got back into tokyo ghoul for a while there. I really love how these drawings turned out despite me just messing around with stuff
