travis morgan (hehehe)
Why thank you for asking about Mike Grell’s avatar! Some day I will convert one (1) other person to reading about him.
Headcanon A: realistic Travis Morgan lives for battle as the Warlord as part of him has never actually left the military. This is a Vietnam War veteran analogy.
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious Living in Skartaris makes you slightly solar powered, driving everyone’s preference to wear as little as possible. Travis’ ever-shrinking outfits as the Warlord come about as he adapts to the conditions and also starts photosynthesising.
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends The switch between Joshua and Joshua’s clone never actually happened. Travis really did kill his own son the second time he met him. Travis eventually discovers this years later, after he’s gotten to know the grown Joshua he regards as his son, and he has to go through the pain of his loss all over again, while questioning whether this is fair on his family and the son he does know. He tries not to treat Joshua differently, knowing he is a clone, because he is the son Travis has. And yet, there’s that horrible little voice inside his head, questioning everything.
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own. Travis has an open relationship with Tara that is properly negotiated, because she’s fully aware that he’s a hopeless case that will fall for every sad sob story a pretty woman gives him and try to fix her problems (while accepting the frequent offers to fall into bed afterwards). Many of the women in his orbit work out pretty fast that it’s too much effort to try to be in a relationship with Travis, because he WILL blink at you bemused if someone brings up the concepts of ‘fidelity’ or ‘not being a horndog’ or ‘seriously that’s a witch trying to scam you Travis, do NOT listen to her’.
(Tara doesn’t mind being Travis’ not-maiden in a tower. It gives her a lot more time to do the things she’s interested in and she knows Travis will always eventually make it home)
Alternatively: A: Travis Morgan is into bondage. B: Travis Morgan is into bondage and really likes getting tied up. C: Travis Morgan is into bondage and doesn’t get tied up enough for his liking. D: Travis Morgan looked at Oliver Queen one time and wondered what it would be like to get tied up by Ollie.

I feel I don’t rant about Travis Morgan and Skartaris enough so here is your official reminder I adore them both and they are terrible.
Travis reached Skartaris, discovered he didn’t have to wear military clothing, then spent the next decade wearing progressively less and less clothing at all times. He’s the greatest warrior inside the earth and runs around in a jewelled belt slung over one shoulder and a loincloth. He wears a helmet and boots. His major arteries are all completely naked to the air in a place where people fight with swords.
Skartaris itself has every pulp mid 20th century SFF conspiracy you can think of. There are dinosaurs and druids, gladiators and slavers, wizards and ancient Atlantean technology. It is always sunny. It’s a hollow Earth. Time passes at a different speed.
