have you ever spoken about how you decide on your outline colors? i notice you use multiple that sometimes change within the same character. adore your art, by the way! the skill! i just want to... idk, eat it, it's so bouncy and welcoming
Thank you, that's very kind of you to say! :')
I select a color close to the line I want to fill and manually darken it by a few shades. It softens the overall feel of the line art and is a neat way to add details, such as for the eyes and eyebrows, so they're not just black blobs.
I only colour line art that's within a shape and leave the outermost outline of a character alone. Typically, I refrain from adjusting the line art in shaded areas as well, as the color will be so close to black anyway so there's no point in changing it hah.
So for this one, these are the areas where I coloured the lineart!
this took way too long tbh. usually im able to bang em out but this one took me like two days because i kept getting distracted 😭 i’ll answer any questions if there are any.. i should do a video where i timelapse me making SP layouts.
I hope this helps anyone who's trying to design their oc using a wheelchair, it's not a complete guide but I tried my best! deffo do more research if you're writing them as a character
I have to draw a lot of gold and metal for my work, but wasn't happy with any of the metal tutorials i could find around. I prefer really specific instruction, so after some research i put together what i think works as a generalist's guide/tutorial. Not perfectly accurate, but i hope it's helpful!
