Weird things I do:

I don't know the full British Sign Language, but I can sign basic greetings, all the letters of the alphabet and all the numbers.

So I sign along to songs by signing the first letter of every word (sometimes syllable) to a) keep my hands busy when I'm having an episode and b) practice sign language

I started to type songs up on my work computer by the first letter of each word, that way I can't be told off, it just looks like gibberish

Today, I was typing the chorus of Closer by Nine Inch Nails

IWFYLAAIWFYFTIIWFYLAAMWEIFYGMCTG

And sometimes I spot words in the initials

And I saw weif

And long story short, I've invented the first official word for my OC's country

"weif" meaning a woman, lady, female or wife

Pronounced we-if, 2 syllables

The plural is weife or weifes, I haven't decided how I want to do plural when I didn't expect to be doing conlang for a daydream idea 😂😂

Can't decide between 17 or 18

Maybe the deposition against her cousin begins when she's 16, it's a long ass war until she gets the throne, maybe she gets the throne when she's late 17, gets coronated after her 18th birthday

Because who the fuck thinks a 16-year-old girl is gonna defeat you in battle

But then there's that issue of her origins, she came from a dream about a lesbian princess and a sexy succubus who gives her an army

Bit dodgy to do any of the succubus back story if she's a minor

Then again, Game of Thrones exists

But I turned the country into my ideal one, there's no religion, and if there's no religion, can't have demons existing

So maybe instead of a succubus girlfriend, it's a ruler from a nearby land who is of a similar age

ㅤ ㅤnasceu numa família mediana, em uma cidade qualquer de nova jersey. era a filha mais nova de um imigrante tcheco e de uma americana, crescendo no meio de uma mistura de culturas que fizeram com que se tornasse uma figura única. fosse pelos seus gostos ou sua personalidade, a grande verdade era que viktorya era autentica do fio de cabelo até os pés. cresceu, dessa maneira, tendo gostos peculiares e diferenciados, apaixonando-se por cinema desde muito nova e tendo na família a companhia perfeita para tal paixão. 

ㅤ ㅤcom a mãe assistia os filmes clássicos americanos, principalmente aqueles dos anos 40 e 50. com o pai, explorava os filmes tchecos e se tornou uma quase especialista sobre o movimento da new wave tcheca. ao lado de amália desbravaram o mundo das diretoras e enredos femininos, entendendo toda essa vertente. e com stepan ficaram deslumbrados pelos filmes primorosos de alfred hitchcock, chegando ao ponto de brincarem de filme, onde stepan era hitchcock e dirigia vik, sua loira fatal.

ㅤ ㅤdurante o ensino médio, envolveu-se com o grupo de audiovisual e jornal da escola. era sempre a responsável pelas filmagens, uma vez que seus colegas diziam que ela era a única que parecia natural com uma câmera na mão. ainda assim, também era criativa o suficiente para ajudar nos planejamentos e habilidosa com as palavras para criar roteiros e artigos quando necessário. com o grupo, ganhou atenção dos professores e corpo docente, fazendo com que sua entrada na universidade de cinema tivesse o apoio de muitos deles. isso, somado as boas notas e uma ótima carta de adesão, fizeram-na ser aceita na american film institute.

ㅤ ㅤdurante os anos de universidade, desenvolveu-se excepcionalmente. envolveu-se em grupos de pesquisa, principalmente aqueles que estudavam movimentos importantes do cinema como nouvelle vague, candidatava-se a ajudar em produções pequenas — fossem de professores ou alunos —, escrevia artigos, além de ter se envolvido em um grupo de alunos imigrantes ou descendentes de outras culturas. o global film wave tinha como objetivo alavancar histórias e enredos diferenciados, principalmente aqueles que tinham intencionalidade em mostrar outros países e culturas. 

ㅤ ㅤcom tanta energia e conhecimento, começou a participar de pequenos projetos cinematográficos, como assistente, até que em 2010 teve a primeira oportunidade de substituir um dos roteiristas na produção de crazy nights. a partir desse momento, vik começou a escrever sua trajetória em hollywood. nessa época inicial, projetos voltados para o público jovem a chamaram, como a série tell me something (2010–2013) e o filme para televisão not a lot going on at the moment (2010). porém, foi quando dirigiu dois curta-metragens em 2011, strangers e my year of contemplation, que chamou atenção do mundo cinematográfico.

ㅤ ㅤem 2019, fez mais um curso, agora na academy of performing arts’ film and tv school em praga, onde pode renovar seus conhecimentos, conhecer novos cineastas e ainda se conectar com as suas raízes tchecas. disse no seu discurso de graduação que para ela era um privilégio estudar onde os grandes cineastas tchecos estudaram, principalmente aqueles que haviam moldado seu caminho até aquele momento.

ㅤ ㅤa partir de então, vik kovàc vem desenhando uma carreira de muito sucesso. premiada e reconhecida não só pela sua direção e roteiro, como pela produção de filmes criativos e autênticos, tem ganhado cada vez mais espaço em hollywood. a crítica costuma apontar que os maiores diferenciais de suas obras são a estética única, o roteiro muito bem trabalhado e o foco em personagens que fogem do clichê dos filmes do circuito anglo-americano.
