I'm super proud to share the music video for Nummer 2, taken from Anne Müller debut album Heliopause. The record is published by Erased Tapes.

I co-directed this with @simon-duong under our new directing duo name Faux Soleil. This project took us countless months to craft and I hope you'll enjoy it's meditative nature as well as Anne's powerful music.

It has recently been selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick! I want to address my deepest thanks to all the artists and producers at Eddy and Brunch Studio who helped us bring this to life. I also want to thank Erased Tapes and Anne for trusting us with this larger than life music video.

On web, we’ve rolled out to everyone the ability to mute push notifications and activity about your posts, either permanently or temporarily. You can do this by going to one of your posts and clicking the meatball menu in the top right and selecting “Mute notifications”. We’re working to add this to the iOS and Android apps as well!

We’ve added a new Featured Tags theme variable for custom theme developers to use in blog themes.

We’re working to expand where we serve Blazed posts on Tumblr, but we went a bit too far and we’re rolling it back from blog and post views, as well as the “Staff Picks” page, based on your feedback. Thanks!

We’ve chased down the bug we mentioned last week that was causing some post and blog links in custom themes (on the blog network) to load inside of Tumblr instead of taking you to the proper custom themed page.

W2: Progress Update

Aloha everyone!  It is currently the third week of the semester and so this is going to be my first progress update video.  So during the first week of class, I focused on creating, setting up, and customizing my Tumblr blog.  I really wanted to make sure that my blog was really visually appealing and the overall look of it kind of matched my topic and personality.  Then I went and followed all of my other classmates so that I can stay updated with how the rest of your capstones are going.  And I also put up my very first post, which was an introduction video about both myself and my capstone topic. Then during the second week of class I got into touch with my internship supervisor, Maile, who works at the Hula Preservation Society and we scheduled a Zoom meeting where we discussed what my expectations were, what resources I would need, and when I could meet with her in person.  

Since I’ll be editing some of their archived footage, I’ll be heading over to Kaneohe this week to take a tour of their facility, meet some of their other staff, set up the software on my own computer, and pick up the hard drive they’ll be uploading their footage to.  Maile also shared with me their channel on Vimeo, their monthly newsletter, and provided me with spreadsheet that I can use to track my work hours. Throughout the next couple of weeks I’ll be planning out the structure of my documentary and recording some of my experiences as a Hula Preservation Society intern.
