I had a thought about that line from the opening crawl of Revenge of the Sith
"There are heroes on both sides"
A lot of people took this to mean there are good and bad people on both sides, but the thing is, nothing really supports this
The Republic and those who fight for it are 9 times out of 10 the good guys, and the separatists are invariably horrible monsters (and the ones who aren't are next to useless)
So maybe "there are good and bad people on both sides" was not the meaning there
Perhaps it's more along the lines of "villains is the heroes of another story/heroes are the villains of another story"
From the out of universe perspective, the republic-despite it's issues-is good, and the separatists-despite their claims-are bad, worse than the republic
But in universe who is the hero and who is the villain depends on perspective
To the separatists, Dooku/Grievous/Trench/etc are the "heroes" and the Jedi/Republic heroes are the villains

Soooo Sky Guy is a no go, what about shipping Hondo with Trench?
*Takes you by the shoulders and stares deeply into your eyes.* No.
But, if you are going to make me think somewhat seriously about this... *sighs*
Trench is a naval man, right? The only thing I can see Hondo giving a shit about would be his use of strategy and battle tactics in terms of Hondo himself being a pirate and priding himself in his, well, piracy skills. That involves strategic planning, having a sense for what your enemy may do next, and how to plan your own next move. That's the only thing they might relate on, and even then, it's not enough.
Trench is too pompous even for Hondo, imo. I think he would wind up disrespecting him because their personalities would clash, as well as their values. And he doesn't like that clicky clacky thing he does with his ..er.. fangs. "It es creepy!"
He would have to respect him for being a survivor, I guess, but I don't see them swapping stories. Trench outwitted quite a few people, at least until his death at the hands of Skywalker.
Hondo doesn't want to have anything to do with the war. He just wants to make profits. Also, I'm sure Hondo would find Trench to be mad ugly.
Disney can pump out as many spin-off shows as they want, but I’m just going to not care and fixate on the canon in my head for Admiral Trench. Lord knows they’re too cowardly to include gay characters that aren’t a background prop.
Anyway, he heard the word “pride march” and it wasn’t what he thought it was.
Trench can be compared to Grievous in many ways when it came to the tactics they used. Both were known for their brutal tactics and lack of any form of mercy.
So you can see why Grievous would think that Trench would be the perfect fit for Christophsis. However what sets Trench and Grievous apart is that Grievous knows when to push the advantage, while Trench wants to soak in the glory of the moment.
This is why Trench ultimately failed at Christiphsis.

Kicking it off with a banger! Overall, this one’s a pretty interesting and engaging episode!! Featuring Nerdy Anakin, Anakin and Yularen’s first mission together, a cool ship, 10/10 Spark and Blackout my best friends Spark and Blackout, Bail Organa!!!!!, a well unveiled plot, and some decently-executed suspense. Overall, a very good episode. Includes some nostalgic references (”you’re our only hope”) without letting them overpower the episode in any way. I really wish we got to see some of these troopers again, they have such great banter and personalities, and cool designs, especially this early in the war!
Downsides include the fact that this is the first episode in the chronological timeline, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why the fuck it’s randomly hanging out in season 2. Literally this happens before the feature film?? Why do we only just now get to see Anakin and Yularen meet? Why are Spark and Blackout introduced like they’ll be recurring characters when they never show up again :(? Fascinating decisions here, Lucas. Other downside is that the villain is a giant tarantula and I Cannot get over the way his mouth forms words. He does not seem to possess lips that can touch each other and yet forms “M” sounds with ease and this distracted me so much the first time I watched it that I had to pause it to try and dissect him in my mind.
