Shanghai Knights has fireworks that cover most of the final act of action sequences in colored strobe lights. A machine gun is used in two scenes, both with plenty of warning that it is about to happen, and both safe to watch again as soon as the sound of the gun stops. Multiple scenes show close-ups of flickering flames, with the opening credits lit exclusively by these flames.
The climax of the film involves peril at extreme heights. All of the camera work in this film is either stationary or very smooth.
Flashing Lights: 7/10. Motion Sickness: 2/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: There is some mild cultural insensitivity. A man gags on his food when he learns what it is.

Bears Post Best NCAA Championships Score In Modern Program History
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The momentum that the California men's gymnastics team built throughout the 2024 season came to a head at just the right time, as it posted its best score at the NCAA Championships in the modern scoring era on Friday.
The Golden Bears – faced with an intense environment and raucous crowd at Ohio State's Covelli Center –finished Session I of the NCAA Qualifier with a 407.158, their third best overall on the modern program list and their fourth 400-plus total of the season. Cal finished fourth, placing ahead of Navy (396.290) and Greenville (389.157) but behind Stanford (417.389), Nebraska (413.123) and Illinois (410.461), the latter three of whom qualified for Saturday's team final.
Despite not advancing as a team, the Bears will have a heavy contingent at the Final after qualifying 10 men, including all three of their all-arounders, to mark a new program best since 2015.
Cal started off the day on pommel horse – their most consistent event of the year – and posted the sixth-highest score in modern program history (66.998), which was keyed by senior Aidan Li, who broke his own program record with a 14.800. It was the second-best score of the session and earned him a berth to Saturday's final. The Bears then moved on to rings, bookending their lineup with qualifying scores from freshman Jaxon Mitchell (13.633) and senior Chris Scales (13.900); the former was a new personal best for the rookie, which helped Cal post its 10th-highest rings score on the modern program list at 67.332.
A monster vault rotation followed for the Blue & Gold, which posted its best score since 2020 with a 71.564 that ranked second on the program list. Sixth-year senior Darren Wong posted a season-high 14.233, followed by a 14.033 by all-arounder Theodor Roald Gadderud and a huge PR of 13.966 from fellow all-arounder Tyler Shimizu. It was sophomore Khalen Currey who earned Cal's top score on the event, sticking a 14.766 that ended the session as the field's top score, qualified him to the final and moved him up to third in modern program history. Junior Jasper Smith-Gordon then rounded out the lineup with a qualifying 14.566. Lastly, Cal's third all-arounder, senior Noah Newfeld, closed out the third rotation with a large PR of his own, a 14.000.
Newfeld's momentum carried over onto parallel bars, where he stuck his dismount to cap off a 14.100 routine and top the lineup; Wong, meanwhile, posted a qualifying score of 13.800, helped the Bears to a total score of 68.566, their fourth consecutive program top 10 (No. 5). The team followed his lead with three sticks on high bar, courtesy of Mitchell (12.966), Wong (13.833), and senior Collin Cunane (13.200), the latter two of whom advanced to the final. Cal closed out the meet on floor, led by Curry's qualifying 13.933 and Shimizu's 13.900.

PLEASE PLEASE!!! * cough * I’m sorry. * throat clear * I have an idea: ( gender bend ) Male Ada Wong flirt Leon’s blushing as Ada saw Chris behind Leon. Chris getting furious, and jealous as male Ada had an evil smirk. ‘You’re a little piece of shit!’ Chris thought. THANK YOU💕💕 and I love your art by the way!! 💕💕💕
In my world, Aidan does a stupid courtship dance bc he's that extra
I hope you like it! (And I'm glad you like my art ♡)
So I’ve gotten through the majority of Leon’s, Chris’s, and Sherry’s campaigns, and I just got through three of Ada’s chapters. As such, I’ve gotten a decent amount of exposure to her and her interactions with the other characters.
And despite her being a central character in this game, she could not be more empty.
At no point was I asking “what’s she after”, partially because I already knew the twist (and event if I didn’t, when six of your characters have one costume change that lasts the rest of the game, and the last one is constantly switching, boy is it easy to guess what’s going on) and partially because the game just never stops with the “Ada’s so cool guys! Isn’t Ada the coolest?! Don’t you tihnk Ada’s the coolest?!”
No, Capcom. No I don’t.
“Untouchable Ada Wong” never really resonated with me. She feels like the thing that media thought “stong female characters” were supposed to be like back in 2006-2008. The only point it was alright was RE2 because a) it was 1998 and the trope wasn’t done to death yet and b) there was actually mystery to her character; we knew literally nothing about her, she played us for suckers and then shot us.
The most interesting Ada ever was to me was in 4, when she was forced to go toe-to-toe with a Leon that could keep up with her. It’s the only time we’ve ever seen her outdone in any capacity and it was catharic. Sure she still acts mostly the same, but that’s a much more interesting angle to play when she’s not always right about it.
In 6, she’s back to just being aloof, having all the answers and not doing anything with them except being a deus ex machina every once in a while. This game is so obssessed with how cool it thinks she is. And that’s the tone of every generic smarmy quip she has in this game, which is every. Fucking. Line. And to top it all off, she’s not with anybody. She’s quipping to herself because that’s all she’s capable of.
That’s not a character, Capcom. RE6 Ada Wong is a movie poster, complete with tagline.

We made our declaration of love the day after Christmas.
It was meant to be a bright Saturday, but it rained cats and dogs, making us worried that we wouldn't be able to enjoy the Beehive Farm and Kitchen's semi-al fresco dining. Despite this, we were able to complete our tasks, especially since you put a grin on my face as we exchanged gifts. I received a nearly-pound photo book full of images and anecdotes that somehow characterized the world's history. The feeling was as delicious as the honey-based dishes served to us. I can also seamlessly recall your awe by the blue and collapsible laundry basket I gave to you, fit for your "soon-to-be solo apartment.
We said our goodbyes a year later - on the day after New Year's celebration.
You showed up in your favorite striped shirts and filthy Crocs at my modest flat, approximately 10min walk away from your house. We have stayed up all night reminiscing about our insane roller coaster journey. From your long and exhausting trips from Lipa to Tabangao, to our coffee dates turned work sessions, to the time we binge-watched Wanda Vision - before I returned home and began my new job. Then you became hungry and ate the leftover digestive cookies, before opening your favorite sour cream flavored Lays. You requested to see another Bong Joon Ho melodramatic film since you wanted to fall asleep quickly.
We woke up around 7am and I could not help but wonder what time you’ll be leaving.
Verbatim:
Me: This is it. This is really the last time we’ll be seeing each other.
Him: Yes. Take care of yourself, Ben.
I gave you page on my favorite book of poetries by Tyler Knott Gregson. The original owner said the pages are meant to be teared and shared - know that and you were the first one who received that piece.
Our "in-betweens" will never be forgotten, as you were the "Aidan to my Carrie Bradshaw," the "Lai-Yiu-Fai to my Ho Po-wong," and the "Adrian to my David". Know that you were the sacred promise I hoped for, and that the magical rope I can pull whenever I need to disengage from anger, fear, or the chaos of the world.

Connection description: This character is a career politician, a Conservative Member of Parliament (Tory MP) for a local constituency, considered up-and-coming and odds-on to become the next Conservative Party Leader thus, potentially, Prime Minister.
I picture them as outwardly charming with a brilliant PR team and friendly, in-spite of the political leanings that they may or may not actually believe. Unfortunately for them, they’re hiding a secret (be that substance abuse, illegitimate lovechild, secret identity, etc.) that threatens to ruin them. My character, Mina, has only worked for them as their Parliamentary Aide for a couple of months (though they may have known each other longer) but, when she inadvertently finds out this secret, it puts their power-dynamic at a rocky-but-even footing and takes their relationship God-only-knows-where!
