A statue of the god ‘Thot’ depicted as a baboon between the columns of the vestibule of Temple of Khonsu’.
It is located at the south part of the large ‘Precinct of Amun-Ra’ at Karnak Temple Complex.
The ‘Temple of Khonsu’ is an almost complete example of a New Kingdom temple, and was originally constructed by ‘Ramses III’ and finished by ‘Ramses IV’ but the baboon is older, and carved during the reign of ‘Seti I’.
The gateway of this temple is at the end of the ‘Avenue of Sphinxes’ that ran to Luxor Temple.
‘Khonsu’ was the son of 𓇋𓏠𓈖’Amun’ & 𓏏𓅐’Mut’, the 3 most important gods in ancient Thebes.

The golden mask of Tutankhamun, Egyptian Museum Cairo. The mask contains two alloys of gold: 18.4 carat shade for the face and neck, and 22.5 carat gold for the rest of the mask. The face represents the pharaoh's standard image, and the same image was found by excavators elsewhere in the tomb, in particular in the guardian statues. He wears a nemes headcloth, topped by the royal insignia of a cobra and vulture - symbolising Tutankhamun's rule of both Upper and Lower Egypt. The ears are pierced to hold earrings. It contains inlays of coloured glass and gemstones, including lapis lazuli , quartz, obsidian, carnelian, feldspar, turquoise, amazonite, faience and other stones. #thegiftsofmindfulness #iregipto #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove #theboyking #Tutankhamun #king #kingtut #gold #cobra #Egypt #earrings #guardianangel #guard #guardiantravelsnaps #egyptianmuseum #egyptianmagic https://www.instagram.com/p/BwZiu07hHiz/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16lhegromc78j

The Dendera Zodiac is the only circular depiction of astronomy to be found within Egyptian antiquity. All other references to the zodiac or astrology are either square or pyramidal in shape and design. The zodiac itself depicts the 360 days of the Egyptian year, with thirty-six decans arranged in a circular fashion. A decan represents one-third of the duration of a zodiacal constellation. Twelve signs with three decans each means thirty-six decans in total. This is a metric that western astrologers continue to use to this day. #thegiftsofmindfulness #iregipto #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove https://www.instagram.com/p/BwkRpdFh0AA/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=12nvzezlsr2qt

The golden throne that Howard Carterdiscovered in the Antechamber beneath the hippopotamus couch is similar to the chair belonging to Sitamun. The style was popular for royal chairs of the Eighteenth Dynasty. Instead of female torsos protruding from the seat, however, the more traditional lions are in their place. Carved of wood, the armchair is covered in gold, and there is some silver overlay as well. Colored glass, faience, calcite, and semi-precious stones are used for the inlays. The carved plant motif between the feline-form legs has been removed by the robbers, but the delicate openwork design of the arms remains intact. On either side, a winged cobra wears the double crown and rests on a basket. Her outstretched wings enclose the hieroglyphs for the "king of Upper and Lower Egypt" followed by the sign for infinity (shen). A cartouche of the king is at the end of her wings on either side of the chair. The back of the chair is supported by three vertical struts; the outer two are carved with the king's Aton name, the middle one with that of the queen. Four hooded cobra with solar disks rise up in pairs between each of the supports. A carved and gilded scene with birds in a thicket appears on the outer surface of the back of the seat. In the triangular opening formed between the diagonal of the back and the vertical support on each side is a hooded cobra. The one on the left wears the red crown of Lower Egypt, while the one on the right has the white crown of Upper Egypt. The iconography relates to Atonist doctrines, but the names of the king and queen appearing on the chair use both the earlier (Aton) and later (Amon) forms. Such a combination indicate that the chair was probably produced rather early in Tutankhamun's reign, during the period of transition to the orthodox belif. #egyptpassion #iregipto #thegiftsofmindfulness #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove#egyptpassion https://www.instagram.com/p/BuR5XM7hiIT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=18lpcxmgy0qw9

Saqqara Step Pyramid Said to be the world's oldest monumental masonry structure, the unique pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara is part of a mortuary complex for the 3rd Dynasty king Djoser. Created by the architect Imhotep, it is a unique stepped pyramid with 6 tiers. The blue tiles of Djoser's tomb, ;hieroglyphs in the pyramid of Pepi I, and the Doors of the Cats (Abwab el Qotat) are all breathtaking scenes. The Saqqara pyramids can be easily accessed on a daytrip from Cairo. #egyptpassion #iregipto #egypt #thegiftsofmindfulness #photography #thisisegypt #light #seti #sohag #ray #sunrays #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove #redsea #ashleymariemoderndayalchemist #marsaallam #mangrovesnapper #crystalhealing #crystals #crystalwater #madeinegypt #gizazoo #zoomarine #zootopia #zoologico #zoo #grotto #citadel https://www.instagram.com/p/BwMvUF-Bp2i/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=15ryq8szs2ijf

False Door of Mehu at Saqqara, 6th Dynasty; It has an unusual style of decoration in which the limestone of the stela shows through dark red paint, which was used to simulate granite, highlighting the hieroglyphic text in yellow. This results in a wonderfully detailed piece of craftsmanship. The false door features a stela in a niche depicting the tomb owner eating from the offerings, and along the whole bottom of the false door are images of the standing tomb owner with his name. #thegiftsofmindfulness #iregipto #egyptpassion #retreat #yoga #inspiration #alchemistofunconditionallove https://www.instagram.com/p/BwFuk8nho6-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=atmk0hiilwsh
