I know I fear McGoohan too much, but this man could do with a drum kit what others can only do with a sword or a gun. He could enter the scene looking like he comes from hell and will only return when the curtain falls. He could interpret every note of that monster of a jazz soundtrack with his eyes alone. The fact that he once walked the earth sends shivers down my spine.

Call for submissions for an MCR mini essay zine!

I want to collect people’s thoughts on MCR and related work in little booklets. I’m calling the series: ALL NIGHT LONG. The topic for the first issue is: general! Pick any topic related to MCR and articulate your thoughts on it.

Do you love the band? Why? Is it the instrumentation or the storytelling? The style or sets? The history or impact? Some way the band affected your life? How does the music make you feel? Does it make you cry or dance? How does it do that? What does it mean to you? What does it mean for the band members? Does it say something interesting about the world, disease, grief, love, queerness, art? Does it make you think of this other band or movie or book you love? The filmic scenes of Demolition Lovers, the rip of guitars on Hang Em High, the harrowing lyrics of Disenchanted, the personal ties to The Kids from Yesterday, the healing power of Foundations. Think about it. Then write it down.

Guidelines:

Stick to the issue’s topic

Tone can be formal or informal, technical or personal

No fiction

As little as 50 words, as much as 800 words

If you make your own layout, make sure it’s 8.5 x 5.5 inches (h x w), 300 dpi, jpg/tiff/pdf — color is fine but ensure it looks good in BW too

DEADLINE: October 5th — EMAIL / DM for extension

Do your best in high school. You can get enough scholarships and grants to pay for college. It just takes a shit ton of work. Keep applying for every single scholarship. Sure, $250-$1000 isn’t much, but it adds up quickly and can save your ass from debt that will be highly difficult to pay off. Those smaller scholarships are a lot easier to get too. Go to college right after high school, if possible. You have to rack up those scholarships during your high school years, and not just during college. Do the work. Debts sucks balls. Big, hairy and sweaty balls. Get help if you need to. Don’t be ashamed to ask and get tutors. The hard work is worth it. You can do this. You got this.

i have some questions pertaining to the 2006 pixar animated film cars and the whole cars cinematic universe

1. do cars have families? like does lighting mcqueen have a mom? a dad?

2. if there are families how are the children made?

3. how do you determine a cars age? by its year? would my 2002 honda be a you college student car?

4. speaking of, is there car college/university? can my car go get into debt?

5. what’s the currency?

6. do they drink gasoline?

i have only seen the first film and that was ages ago so there may be explanations to these questions in the extended universe.

i think the 2005 movie robots has better world building.
