Shadowhunters: 31 of Our Favorite Malec Moments

The relationship between Magnus and Alec on Shadowhunters is one of the best 'ships currently on television.

Alec is a Shadowhunter and head of the New York Institute while Magnus is the High Warlock of Brooklyn. Seeing as they're both in charge of two groups who don't particularly get along, they have the odds stacked against them in almost every way.

Despite their struggles, Alec and Magnus never let their differences keep them apart. They have proved throughout the series that their love is strong enough to overcome anything life throws at them.

Not only are they great representation for the LGBTQ community, but they also have a pure and healthy relationship that everyone can look up to. They're one of the many reasons we're all fighting so hard to #SaveShadowhunters.

It's obviously impossible to name every amazing Malec scene, but we compiled a slideshow of 31 of our favorite Malec moments below!

1. Their first time on 2x18 "Awake, Arise, or Be Forever Fallen"

There are so many amazing things that could be said about this scene as a whole. The music, the kissing, and Alec telling Magnus how beautiful he is officially ended us all.

2. Team work makes the dream work on 3x02 "The Powers That Be"

Anytime Malec teams up in the face of danger they always accomplish their goal. It's clear that being around each other makes them stronger.

3. Alec and Magnus' first kiss on 1x12 "Malec"

This was the iconic kiss that no one will ever forget. Alec literally walked back down the aisle of his own wedding to plant one on Magnus in front of everyone. And yes, Magnus and Alec are so epic that they actually had an episode named after them.

4. That time they turned Shadowhunters into a crime drama on 3x02 "The Powers That Be"

Somehow, Magnus and Alec are the best partners in crime and the worst. Being sneaky and subtle is not their strong suit, yet surprisingly they still managed to get the job done.

5. Malec gets domestic AF on 3x03 "What Lies Beneath"

Alec's cooking may not have been the best but thankfully Magnus was there to make some er...magical improvements. But you know what they say, a couple who cooks together stays together.

6. AU Alec pulls a Magnus on 1x10 "This World Inverted"

When Magnus and Alec first met Magnus inferred that Alec was playing hard to get. It's a good thing Magnus and otherworldly Alec both love a challenge.

7. Magnus and Alec kill us with cuteness on 3x01 "On Infernal Ground"

This scene was all kinds of adorable. Once Magnus is truthful with Alec and admits he doesn't want him to go to Idris, Alec tells him that his real dream was finding someone like Magnus. He assures Magnus that he's not going anywhere.

8. Cuddling ensues the morning after on 2x18 "Awake, Arise, or Be Forever Fallen"

Their first morning after was everything we hoped it would be and more. It's clear just how much these two love each other and what the night before meant to them.

9. Magnus being a worried boyfriend on 2x13 "Those of Demon Blood"

Seeing Magnus worry about Alec going out alone was absolutely precious. Honestly, these two couldn't act any more married if they tried.

10. Malec is here to stay on 2x08 "Love is a Devil"

We already knew that Malec was a permanent thing, but hearing Alec say the words out loud to Magnus was especially satisfying.

11. Gift giving on 2x07 "How Are Thou Fallen"

Like Magnus said, Alec is always surprising him. In just one of many examples of him being an adorable boyfriend, Alec gives Magnus an Omamori charm which is said to offer health and protection.

12. Magnus and Alec talk it out on 2x01 "This Guilty Blood"

It's impossible for couples to go through life without facing challenges. But Magnus lets Alec know that they need to work through problems together instead of getting nervous and pushing each other away.

13. Immortality angst on 3x05 "Stronger Than Heaven"

It's not that we love the angst but well...we love the angst. The fact that the basis of Magnus and Alec's fight was that they never wanted to be without each other was somehow both heartbreaking and heartwarming.

14. Alec comforts Magnus on 2x15 "A Problem of Memory"

Magnus finally opened up to Alec about what he was going through and Alec did the only thing he could. He was there for him completely.

15. True love's kiss on 2x03 "Parabatai Lost"

Things were not looking good for Alec this episode. His soul was lost alongside his parabatai's and getting Jace back was the only way to wake Alec up. Although it (sadly) didn't work, the fact that Magnus tried to kiss Alec back to life gave us all the feels.

16. Magnus and Alec's first date on 2x06 "Iron Sisters"

A first date was much needed between these two. They finally got to talk about the things that were important to each of them. Despite Alec not being at all experienced and Magnus being extremely experienced in the dating world, they showed how determined they are to make things work.

17. Malec teaches us about healthy relationships on 2x20 "Beside Still Water"

In the words of Magnus Bane quoting Alec Lightwood, relationships take effort. Magnus and Alec both understand that in order to have a healthy relationship they need to put in the work. And these two are willing to do whatever it takes.

18. Alec tells Magnus he loves him on 2x10 "By the Light of Dawn"

After Alec spent a few horrifying moments thinking that Magnus was dead, we got an epic declaration of love. Their first I love you is always going to be one of Shadowhunters' best scenes and it's impossible to watch it dry-eyed.

19. Love at first sight on 1x04 "Raising Hell"

From the moment Magnus and Alec met sparks were flying. You can tell from Alec's nervous smile and the way he can't keep his eyes off Magnus that he is crushing hard.

20. Magnus and Alec get back together on 2x20 "Beside Still Water"

When Magnus and Alec are together it almost feels like everything in the show is going to be okay. When they were apart the world was very literally falling apart around them. Alec tells Magnus that he can't live without him, and we connected with Alec on a spiritual level.

21. A magical dinner by the fire on 2x17 "A Dark Reflection"

When Alec misses their date, Magnus brings the date to him with a wave of his hand. Having a boyfriend with magic powers sure does come in handy.

22. Alec (literally) gives Magnus his strength on 1x06 "Of Men and Angels"

Even warlocks can run out of power and Magnus was fading fast. Thankfully, Alec was there to offer his own strength in whatever way he needed. Magnus was obviously surprised by Alec's inclination to help him and admitted that it's rare to find a Shadowhunter with such an open heart.

23. The aftermath of Valentine's destruction on 2x12 "You Are Not Your Own"

This entire episode was absolutely tragic. When Magnus is hurting so is Alec, and the devastation when he realized he couldn't take away Magnus' pain is agonizing. This moment may not be a happy one, but it definitely made us emotional.

24. Alec opens Magnus up to love for the first time in a century on 1x06 "Of Men and Angels"

Although Magnus had been in love with both men and women before, he closed himself off from feeling anything for anyone for almost a century. But from the moment he met Alec his heart immediately opened back up. If that's not true love than what is?

25. The heartbreaking goodbye on 3x10 "Erchomai"

This scene was a mess of emotions. Magnus couldn't stand by and do nothing while he watched someone so important to the man he loves fade away. Alec told Magnus that he needs to make it back and of course, Magnus' reply was perfect.

26. Unofficial first drinks on 1x06 "Of Men and Angels"

What Alec doesn't know in this scene is that he's sharing his first drink with the love of his life. Of course, with the way these two couldn't keep their eyes off of each other they must have had some idea.

27. Malec's photo booth pics on 2x19 "Hail and Farewell"

Magnus staring at a photo strip of him and Alec after their breakup was devasting. But we couldn't help but fawn over the fact that Magnus and Alec actually had the chance to go out and do cute couple things. Where's our flashback of the photo booth scene?

28. Magnus tries to convince Alec to call off his wedding on 1x12 "Malec"

We were right there with you Magnus. Even though Lydia was a great character, Alec was only marrying her out of duty and obligation. Magnus could see right through him and tried to get Alec to admit who he really had feelings for.

29. Hug and make up on 3x07 "Salt in the Wound"

These two still had some things to talk about, but in this moment the only thing that mattered was their love for each other. With other things taking precedence, they just had to take a moment to make sure the other knew they were sorry.

30. Handholding on 3x02 "The Powers That Be"

Alec was pretty nervous about being the only Shadowhunter in a party full of warlocks, but Magnus was quick to help calm his nerves.

31. Reconciliations on 2x13 "Those of Demon Blood"

After Alec realized he was in the wrong for asking Magnus for a piece of hair to verify his innocence, Alec assures him that he never has to prove himself. He trusts Magnus implicitly.

New Year's Eve Favorites

New Year’s Eve rolls around just six days after Christmas, when many are still knee-deep in wrapping paper and ribbon. It’s easy to just roll New Year’s into the Christmas celebrations, doing little to mark the moment beyond watching the ball drop at midnight. But there are plenty of films centered around New Year’s that deserve their own holiday film recognition.

My Favorites…

About Time (2013) - This Richard Curtis written/directed movie is one of my all-time favorite films, period. But it all starts with a life-changing New Year’s Eve party.

When Harry Met Sally (1989) - Often considered a bit of a stealth Christmas movie, this rom-com classic ends, unforgettably, on New Year’s Eve.

The Cutting Edge (1992) - It’s hard to call this movie about a former hockey star turned Olympic figure skater “good,” in any objective sense, but that doesn’t keep me from loving it wholeheartedly. Even if you haven’t seen it 50 or so times, like I have, I doubt anyone can forget that moment when sparks fly, literally, between Doug Dorsey and Kate Moseley at a New Year’s Eve party, when they twirl into each other’s arms with sparklers at the stroke of midnight (sigh).

Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019) - Not specifically holiday-themed but Brittany makes a pretty perfect New Year’s watch. Funny, inspirational and all about self-improvement. Absolutely adore this one.

About a Boy (2002) - While it also features some sweet Christmas scenes, Hugh Grant and Rachel Weisz meet cute on New Year’s Eve.

The Poseidon Adventure (1972) - The movie that defined 1970s disaster movies remains good, cheese-tastic New Year’s fun. I remember the first time I saw this one as a kid, on cable, on New Year’s Eve. A group of New Year’s revelers trying to escape a cruise ship that flips over? Indelible.

Starstruck (2021, HBO Max) - Think of season one of this 6-episode British series, written and created by a Kiwi, as a three hour rom-com that begins on New Year’s Eve and ends the following Christmas. A delightful watch any time, but extra-special during the holiday season.

Peter’s Friends (1992) - This criminally under-rated British ensemble comedy features a host of stars—Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton, Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh and Rita Rudner—gathering to celebrate the New Year at their college chum’s English estate.

Something from Tiffany’s (2022, Prime Video) - This holiday romance centers around Christmas gifts from the famous jewelry being inadvertently swapped, but most of the movie takes place between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve when everything comes to a head.

Plane (2023) - If this New Year’s Eve-set action movie leaned in just a bit more to its New Year celebration, it could reach Die Hard-style holiday classic status. While the New Year’s element doesn’t factor much after the first 15 minutes, this is a well-made, well-acted and well-paced watch. Honestly, some of Gerard Butler’s best work which, yeah, isn’t the highest bar, but Plane is a super entertaining action-disaster pic that, forgive the pun, is a lot more grounded than expected.

Other People (2016) - This very well told story about losing a loved one to cancer is funnier than you’d think, given the subject matter, has an amazing cast, led by Jesse Plemons, Molly Shannon and Bradley Whitford, and starts off with a New Year’s Eve bash.

About Fate (2022) - This American remake of a Soviet-era New Year classic, 1976′s The Irony of Fate, available to legally watch on YouTube via Mosfilm, stars Emma Roberts and Thomas Mann as recent (sort of) dumpees who meet cute due to alcohol-induced architectural confusion, and end up attending a New Year’s Eve wedding together with chaotic results, with the whole story playing out from December 30th to January 1st.

Fruitvale Station (2013) - This gut-wrenching Ryan Coogler feature directorial debut should have won Michael B. Jordan an Oscar. Set entirely on New Year’s Eve, it’s the devastating true story of the last day of Oscar Grant’s life.

Phineas and Ferb: Happy New Year (2012, Disney Channel) - This fun episode of the crazy kids’ series works as a stand-alone New Year’s special that’s better than most.

Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings: Two Doors Down (2019, Netflix) - Cheese-y, feel-good, queer holiday romance that ends with Dolly Parton singing Auld Lang Syne. What more could you want?

An Affair to Remember (1957) - This Cary Grant-Deborah Kerr classic is basically the third lead in Sleepless in Seattle, but it is a New Year’s classic in its own right, as Kerr and Grant’s characters vow to meet on the top of the Empire State building after an epic New Year’s Kiss.

Entrapment (1999) - There’s just something about thieves and New Year’s, I guess, as the final job in this Sean Connery-Catherine Zeta Jones film is set on Y2K. There’s also a good bit of bonus millenium Christmas content.

Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne (2021, Apple TV+) - A kid-friendly New Year's Eve watch the whole family can enjoy. Apple is doing a fantastic job of preserving the Peanuts legacy with their new holiday specials.

Holiday (1938) - Another Cary Grant classic that features a memorable New Year’s Eve. Even though the “holiday” of the title refers to a vacation, it’s on New Year’s Eve that sparks really begin to fly between Grant and Katherine Hepburn. Trouble is, she’s his fiancee’s sister.

After the Thin Man (1936) - This sequel to the runaway 1934 hit kicks off on New Year’s Eve, with James Stewart joining Myrna Loy and William Powell for more mystery solving slapstick antics.

Red, White & Royal Blue (2023, Prime Video) - Based on the book of the same name, this delightful rom-com’s President’s son-meets-Prince romance really gets going at a New Year’s Eve party, following fitful Thanksgiving-Christmas flirting via text.

In Search of a Midnight Kiss (2007) - This independent dark-ish, rom-com can be a little hard to find, but it’s worth seeking out. Two lonely people looking for hope and love by New Year’s Eve.

Ghostbusters II (1989) - Definitely less than the original classic, this holiday-set sequel concludes with New Yorker’s saving the city via a chorus of Auld Lang Syne, with an assist from Lady Liberty.

Boogie Nights (1997) - Definitely not an uplifting New Year’s Eve watch, this Paul Thomas Anderson classic does feature outstanding performances and an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party appearance by William H Macy.

Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (1976, ABC) - Not the only animated New Year’s special, but easily the most memorable, this Rankin-Bass classic has Rudolph teaming up with Baby New Year and Father Time to save the holiday.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown (1986, CBS) - Nowhere near as iconic as the 1960s Peanuts specials, this is still a solid, kid-friendly New Year’s watch.

Pete the Cat: A Groovy New Year (2017, Amazon Prime) - Hep cat animated special based on the popular children’s book character.

200 Cigarettes (1999) - Set in the 1980s, this follows a group of young New Yorkers looking for a memorable New Year’s Eve.

Snowpiercer (2013) - The Chris Evans dystopian thriller where civilization is relegated to an always moving train, strictly divided by class, and New Year’s is celebrated every time they circumnavigate the globe.

Highball (1997) - This very early, extremely low budget Noah Baumbach movie takes place over a series of holiday parties that culminates with a New Year’s Eve bash. Is it good? Well, Baumbach petitioned to have his name removed from it, so…

Waiting to Exhale (1995) - This movie about a close-knit friend group and their complicated romantic lives, based on the book by Terry McMillan, is framed by New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Four Rooms (1995) - This overly ambitious anthology, featuring four stories each written and directed by a different high profile auteur, with only one connecting character, a hotel bellman, takes place entirely on New Year’s Eve.

Ocean’s Eleven (1960) - The Rat Pack original isn’t as fun as the George Clooney-Brad Pitt remakes, but it does set its heist on New Year’s Eve.

The Sword in the Stone (1963) - This Disney animated classic’s pivotal moment—the extraction of Excalibur—occurs at the New Year’s tournament, which Arthur attends as a lowly squire.

Sex and the City: The Movie (2008) - The ladies celebrate a very memorable New Year’s Eves in this movie, based on the HBO series.

Dr Who: The Movie (1996, BBC) - The Time Lord takes on the millennium in this made-for-TV movie.

New Year’s Day (1989) - This little known movie is David Duchovny’s first major role. He plays a man who moves to L.A. on New Year’s Eve, only to find his newly-rented apartment occupied by three women.

A Long Way Down (2014) - Four strangers meet on a rooftop on New Year’s Eve, each contemplating jumping.

Endings, Beginnings (2020) - This Shailene Woodley-starring movie features a love triangle that begins at a fateful New Year’s Eve party.

Do It Yourself, Mr. Bean (1994, ITV) - Mr. Bean plans a New Year’s bash in this ITV special.

A Month in Thailand (2012) - This Romanian film follows a man in the time between Christmas and New Year’s trying to decide if he should pursue the ex who broke his heart, or stick with his current adoring girlfriend.

The Shining (1980) - This bleak, wintery horror classic wouldn’t be the most uplifting way to celebrate New Year’s Eve, but its plot pivotal NYE party photo certainly makes it seasonally appropriate if you’re looking to scream in the New Year.

Age of Adaline (2015) - This very weird movie starring Harrison Ford and Blake Lively begins at a New Year’s Eve party, with the holiday holding other significance in the story.

New Year, New You (2018, Hulu) - New Year’s entry in the Blumhouse-produced horror, holiday anthology movie series.

*If I hadn’t already dubbed Bridget my all-time favorite stealth Christmas movie, I’d have put it on my New Year’s list for sure, probably at No. 1, since Jones’s New Year’s resolutions bookend the film, which actually starts on New Year’s Day (when she meets Darcy at her mom’s annual turkey curry buffet). Really, it’s a pretty perfect New Year’s watch and an annual in between Christmas and New Year’s must-view in our house.

**As with Bridget, Last Holiday would be at or near the top of my New Year’s favorites, if I hadn’t already dubbed it one of my favorite Christmas films. But, while it takes place over the entire Christmas season, much more happens on New Year’s in this Queen Latifah classic, than Christmas, and it’s a great way to spend any New Year’s Eve.

***And the same goes for The Holiday, which is mostly Christmas, but culminates on New Year’s Eve, the only part of the film where all four leads share a scene.

****Yet another that would be at or near the top of my New Year’s list, if it weren’t already on my Top 25 Stealth Christmas Movies list, as the New Year’s Eve in Holidate was among its best, and most memorable, moments.

*****Starstruck takes the opposite tack of the rest of this list, starting on New Year’s Eve and ending at Christmas.

TOP TEN SHONI SCENES OF SEASON 2

Here it is, folks. The definitive ranking of the top ten Toni and Shelby scenes in season 2. Anyone who disagrees is a fool. A FOOL!!

Kidding. This is of course a totally subjective list, based on a number of factors, but ultimately coming down to what scenes mean the most to me. This is a shippers list, and as such, certain heartbreaking scenes might not make an appearance. Doesn’t mean I don’t think they’re important or well done. They’re just not going to be the scenes I keep coming back to for sustenance.

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 (of course)

But before we get in to the list proper

HONORABLE MENTIONS

These are moments that are too brief to be proper scenes, but I couldn’t just leave unmentioned

First, what adorable goofs they were at Dot’s party, not able to be out of contact for longer than 5 seconds

Next, the little caress Toni gives Shelby as she tells her she’s not off to war.

And last Toni smelling (and even maybe kissing) Shelby’s sweatshirt while she tries to deal with ILY

OOF. Love that so much it almost made the full list. What did make the cut? Let’s get into it.

10. “Fucking Sexy Actually”

Toni simping over Shelby gets most of the attention here, and it’s understandable. It’s crazy and delightful to see Toni “I will cut you” Shailfoe listen to her girlfriend go full “Your work is bad and you should feel bad” and look her with giant hearts in her eyes. But there’s two other pieces that make this scene for me. One, her describing how safe she feels with Shelby.

But most importantly, her finding Shelby in full bossy party planner being “fucking sexy”

This to me fully confirms that she must have found Let’s Do An Icebreaker Shelby sexy as well. And that is delicious.

9. The Tree Falls

Worry is at the top of my list for shipping tropes, so seeing Shelby grab Toni like she was afraid the tree was still going to take her made my heart flutter. I do wish it was played out a bit more with some suspense and drama, but I have to love any scene that starts with this image.

8. “Most Perfect Moment of My life

I love everything about this scene, with all the girls. Leah and Rachel rocking out. Dot getting into it. Martha dancing. Fatin looking at Leah with adoration. But of course, for me, it always comes back to my girls. Toni looking at Shelby with that sweet love sick smile, and Shelby cuddling into her after confessing how amazing it all is to her. Perfectly suited for a moment that would make you understand how someone would be less then eager to go back to Dave Goodkind after being in this group and this love.

7. “I Never Won’t Love Her”

A little bit of a cheat here, as it’s more of a moment then a scene, but hearing that Shelby cannot and will not stop loving Toni, regardless of what’s happened, is too beautiful to let go.

Plus,

It gave us canon Leatin (or at least a mighty big seed for it)

6. April Come She Will

Just a beautiful scene, set to one of my favorite songs. We start with Worried Shelby

which leads to this beautiful image

which in turn leads into one of the best love making scenes I’ve seen in a good while, dirty hands not withstanding.

And honestly, I love that it starts with this goofy ass image.

These two are so unwilling to not be in contact that they’re walking like they’re in the goddamn Wizard of Oz. I love it

5. “And Every Single Fucking Day After”

The returned I love you may have come late, but it’s still so frigging beautiful. First, we get Toni declaring her intention to love Shelby for the rest of her life, in a perfectly Toni fashion.

Then two “I love you’s” and a happy teary Toni

I did not expect to see Toni tear up with happiness this season. It almost makes up for the pain that comes. Almost.

4. The Black Parade

First off, amazing use of transition and soundtrack. Second, it’s a return of the angsty kisses that began Shoni, but with added intensity and tree shoving action

But after that, the difficult discussion that follows is just as important and includes the utterly heart melting image of Toni trying not to smile too much when Shelby states she has no doubt about them.

And while it’s marred by what comes later, Toni comforting Shelby as she breaks down is so good to see. For a little bit, she was excatly what Shelby needed, and Shelby was exactly what she needed

3. Martha

This is probably a more decisive scene then most. Even I have some issues with it. (Still not sure how I feel about femme Toni). But the core premise, and the acting and vocals involved, will never not move me.

It’s the closest we’ll ever get to a canon AU on this show. And while the dream aspect of it might foil some of the lovliness, it’s still Shelby singing about her love to Toni. That is just unspeakable powerful to me.

2. “Every Drug They Warned Us About”

I said it back in my episode notes, but this is such a great reintroduction to my girls. Cuddled up, looking at each other with that pure, fresh love. Shelby describing the bliss of being with Toni. Toni, in typcal fashion, teasing her for it, but not without letting her know how she feels.

The honest conversation about guilt and god. The “You Are So Beautiful” and this sight.

Look at her. LOOK. AT. HER.

1. “FINISH HIM!”

This is the scene I cannot stop watching. The pure bliss before the storm.

First, I love just how loose and goofy Toni is here. Stealing kisses from Shelby while teasing her for it.

Her voice sounds so much looser and high then I think we’ve ever heard it. She’s not trying to be tough or controlled. She’s had so many walls broken down and is just being free with the girl she loves.

The two of them are such ridiculous idiots in love here, even calling back the pee motif that’s followed them from ep 1. Never thought I could find that romantic but here we are.

And then it leads, of course to the I Love You.

There was a lot of speculation of where the first ILY might come...in an angst filled moment, in a deeply romantic time, after something serious had occured. But I’m really glad it came where it did. One of the biggest reasons these two love each other so much is they feel free with one another. And showing that through a Mortal Kombat fueled goof session is actually a really lovely choice to me.

And yes, it ends with the angst of Toni not saying it back. But i think that’s part of what makes it such a perfect scene. Toni and Shelby wouldn’t be Toni and Shelby without angst.

AoD Head-canons

Side note: None of these are actually canon! Spoilers for Angels of Death’s manga! If you rb this, please do not tag it with ZackRay. I respectfully do not want to be associated with the ship. Sorry there’s no Gray head canons, I’m not very familiar with his character. Love you all, lovelies!! <3

Zack

His favorite food is definitely Doritos. We drag him for the soda with cereal shit but that is for BREAKFAST. All the other meals? Chips. Do not @ me.

^ Definitely has a high metabolism. That’s why he’s so skinny but eats junk food all the time.

Steals/gets magazines from Cathy to look at the pictures and try to decipher what some ads are for.

Loves horror movies still to this day. Probably gets some of his killing tactics from the serial-killers he watches.

When someone finds out he can’t read/when he tells someone he can’t read, he gets angry as a defense from his embarrassment. He’s very self-conscious about it.

He’s very distant from Eddie (and possibly Rachel) because he reminds him of the children in the orphanage he had to bury. Plus, since his floor is associated with graves, it gives him very bad memories of the children there.

^ He was like an older brother to the children in the orphanage. While he doesn’t show it, he definitely felt depressed and frustrated after their deaths because he couldn’t do anything to help them. This also adds onto why he doesn’t like being helpless.

He hates lies because his mother left him at the orphanage and said that she would come back to get him later. (And possibly that they would “help” him with his burns.)

People might drag me for this, but I personally think Zack is straight. There were no given clues that he had a male lean at all and even included that Zack thought a woman was cute for her lie about being a fan. I dunno, I just don’t think he would be all with the guys in my opinion. But of course, I STAN OTHER SEXUALITIES FOR HIM!!! If I had to say he was queer, I would definitely put my bets on bisexual because I don’t think he would get the concept of transgender, non-binary, etc.

Rachel

Rachel was named after her mother.

^ She was much closer to her mother rather than her father and learned how to sew from her. Before her mother and father started to become alcoholics (and possibly drug addicts/gamblers) they were much kinder and let her have a small pet. Hamster, fish, outdoor cat, something like that.

Rachel loves to read fantasy novels and fairytales. Her favorite ones are Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella.

Bullied at school for being quiet and shy, however, she was very intelligent so all of her teachers loved her. People most likely called her a teacher’s pet. </3

Knows how to play fluent piano.

Rachel was closer to Zack than Eddie because she was used to being unfairly treated (because of her parents) and didn’t understand why he was being so nice to her. She began to believe that he was going to manipulate her or try to pull something that would end up hurting her. So, she refused his offer on top of Zack swearing to God.

^ When Eddie was laying in the grave, Rachel was going to invite him to join her and Zack to leave the facility together and that he could bury her after Zack killed her. However, she couldn’t say anything before Zack got to him.

Rachel is self-conscious about her looks because she isn’t as “grown” as the other girls her age.

I’m also pretty sure Rachel is straight. Please don’t drag me for this-once again there are no clues that she is. The only romantic interest she even (semi) had was Eddie. Soooooo…y e a h -

Danny

Not a head canon but take it anyway. People drag him for being a pedophile, but honestly NO. This man is so sweet when he’s not going insane about eyes, please. Danny stans out there STAND UP. Your man is definitely not a pedophile. He works with children for God sake’s, he was just so excited about seeing his mother’s eyes again that he lost it. The creators did an amazing job catching his mental instability. Just because he had jumped onto her does not automatically mean he has an interest in children. <3

I would say this man is definitely a clean freak.

Has a crush on Cathy, buys her clothes, talks to her the most out of all the angels, etc.

When he’s not wearing a doctor’s coat, Danny has some STYLE. Definitely a dapper gentleman if I do say so myself. He goes out looking fine.

^ Radiates easy-going teacher energy.

Danny’s favorite color is blue for obvious reasons. Walk into his office? Blue. Walk into his bedroom? Blue. Look in his closet? Blue.

Into astrology or something nerdy like that. I say astrology because of the blue moon that he relates to his mother’s eyes but he definitely has interest in nerdy things like that.

If I were to say his sexuality, I would assume it’s maybe bisexual?? But I have no idea once again NO CLUES. Actually, I’ve seen people ship Danny x Zack which…ALRIGHT GET INTO IT!!! Altogether though, it is presumed that he has an interest towards Cathy, so I would say definitely a feminine lean.

Eddie

(The sun. The absolute sun. Perfection. We do not slander Eddie here. If you dislike Eddie, get out of here. Immediately. /j)

Eddie’s favorite flower is the poppy flower! It’s actually seen in the anime that he has a vase of them and throughout the episode, he gives Rachel a few! The poppy’s flower language means “peace in death,” so this automatically makes sense as to why he loves them so much! Here’s a picture of one of the poppy flowers from the anime and an actual poppy flower!

Eddie is very insecure about his looks, which is one of the reasons he wears his mask constantly. While he does say it’s because it makes him feel like a professional grave-keeper, he also seems to be embarrassed/ashamed of his ginger hair. He never reveals his face to the girl in episode.eddie, didn’t plan to reveal his face to any of the characters in episode.0, and didn’t purposely reveal his face to Rachel in Angels of Death. He tells the girl, which I will call Elizabeth, not to look at his face while he’s making a grave, even though all she could even see was his eyes. So, he might have been insecure because ginger hair was so rare, along with his green eyes that are also the rarest eye color, and freckles that covered his face.

This head canon is a little disturbing, just a little fyi. Eddie became so lonely that he would put corpses into the freezers he had to look at them and talk to them as if they were still alive. He only chose a few because he likes burying the rest, but he couldn’t handle being so alone that he shoved the feeling of wanting to bury them aside and pretended to have conversations with them. Considering he was the youngest angel there, he seemingly didn’t like to interact with the adults because he felt uncomfortable. So, the corpses are probably children around his age and/or animals that he found roaming about.

Eddie is extremely good at math. This only makes sense because grave-work inquires a lot of math and he was seemingly creating graves at a very young age. This would mean he had a higher level of understanding in math than regular children his age and would most definitely be in advanced mathematics rather than basics. However, his spelling? Terrible. There was even this cute little comic strip from Sasuten where Eddie spells ‘because’ wrong and gets completely embarrassed about it. While he likes to write letters, that spelling would not be 100% correct.

Feminine. Very feminine. Other than his grave-keeping hobby, Eddie shows many characteristics that would usually be more feminine. Like planting flowers, cooking/baking, drawing, reading, things like that. He even appears feminine. He would probably be insecure about this also, considering he had three brothers who were “hooligans.” (As he would say <3)

Eddie has lots of nightmares about his older brother hurting him again and/or being abandoned…

^ Adding onto that, Eddie has the fear of being abandoned rather than being alone. He can easily be alone in the graveyard or on his floor, but he doesn’t like the thought of being abandoned by the other floor masters. This fear is also built up by rejection and abuse from the past.

Pansexual but closeted. He just wants someone to love him no matter what their gender is at this point. And yall can’t tell me he hasn’t killed a boy his age and DIDN’T LIKE HIM. I mean come on. Very much pansexual vibes from him. But he would never admit it.

Cathy

Obviously a diva so her favorite color is pink. Skinny legend!!!

Dyed her own hair without even thinking about transitioning it…just straight pink and blonde. I’m sorry Cathy, but HIRE SOMEONE NEXT TIME PLEASE-

Wears Gucci all day everyday.

Definitely acts extra and puts cucumbers on her eyes and lotion on her face like in the movies as she sleeps with one of those silky robes.

She loves packaged ramen noodles, even though she seems like the type to eat fancy. Nah, she’ll be electrocuting a bitch and eating her noodles while watching, like the icon she is.

Goes to every floor just to show off her new clothes and nails, then just D R A G S THOSE HOES. LIKE- “Awwww, are you an actor~? I saw you on the TV yesterday! Animal planet is my favorite~”

^ Doesn’t go to Zack’s floor because she doesn’t want to get her look ruined with a scythe plunged into her stomach.

Bisexual queen. Lucy and Danny are the only proof we need.

i'm sorry you had to look at some idiot's opinions about such a wonderful ship. i don't know why it's so popular lately to strip them of all nuance and context and force every tiny interaction between them into some black and white scenario where one of them is a clear cut abuser and one the victim but it's honestly ridiculous at this point. and when your ship is as great as this one actually is, it's not hard to find lots of positive moments to cheer yourself up again. so i hope the gifs and my ramblings helped you even just a little bit <3 ily!

Rating PJO Ships

*Please note that I am only rating/sharing my opinions on these ships in relation to the events in pjo, NOT HoO

Percy and Annabeth: 11/10--- In my own personal opinion, in my heart of hearts, I love percabeth, I love the time that they get to build their rivalry and friendship throughout the 5 books, and overall, I love their dynamic. They aren’t always agreeing with each other, they don’t swoon at the sight of each other, it’s a natural friendship which makes it all feel like a natural progression that subtly pushed the storyline along (during pjo, hoo is another story)

Percy and Rachel: 5/10 --- I absolutely love Percy and Rachels’s dynamic, I feel like she is always a breath of fresh air, very mortal, and I love all of her and Percy’s interactions. I honestly wish we got a lot more of Rachel in the story, (I hope we get a montage of her and Percy living their best lives during the school year in the show), but I always just thought of them as friends, and I preferred that over Rachel just being used as a third wheel because she is so much more, which is why I like them better as friends.

Grover and Juniper: 4/10--- They were cute enough, they made each other happy, but there wasn’t enough of them for me to rank it very high.

Luke and Thalia: 0/10--- It could have been a healthy relationship if Luke wasn’t ya know, evil, but alas.

Clarisse and Chris: 4/10--- Again, it was cute, but it didn’t really stand out in any way.

Silena and Charles: 6/10--- It was like Percy and Annabeth were watching as a Greek romantic tragedy was playing out right in front of them, and I would say that both of these characters were actually utilized in the books. (unlike Chris and Juniper) which I appreciate, it was very sweet, but sadly short lived :( also, not too big of a complaint but it was really heavy on the ‘our parents are opposites, or rivals so in no world would we ever fall in love’ trope that is prominent in all RR’s books, which I could do without sometimes.

Silena and Clarise: 7/10--- Should have been cannon, the parallels to Achilles and Patroclus? amazing. The fact that they actually interacted and had chemistry? outstanding. The fact that is was actually an example of ‘our parents are enemies, this shouldn’t work out’ trope that I actually like. Outta the park!

Percy and Calypso: 1/10--- The fact that Calypso is a thousand year old immortal being always make me uncomfortable idk

Why Percabeth Isn’t a Good Ship (Sorry 2x)

I’m definitely getting cancelled-

1. Annabeth is physically abusive. The fandom makes this point seem controversial and debatable, but it’s really not. The definition of abuse is hitting someone. Annabeth hit Percy. Therefore, Annabeth abused Percy. Is that really that hard to understand? Annabeth hit Percy for the first time in The Titan’s Curse when she, Percy, and Thalia were looking for the di Angelo siblings. She punched him in the gut when he asked her who he should ask to dance with him. Annabeth knows that Percy can be oblivious at times...but punishes him when it benefits her? The second time was in The Mark of Athena, when she judo-flipped him because she missed him. That’s...what?? Usually when people are worried about someone else, they hug or kiss them, not flip them over their shoulder. And yes Annabeth kissed him first, but the judo-flip was completely unnecessary. Annabeth punished Percy for ‘leaving’ her despite him being kidnapped and his memory wiped. And everyone’s like ‘But Percy didn’t feel any pain!!11!!1!’ The chapter wasn’t in his point of view, so that claim is a guess. Just cause he didn’t say ‘Ow’ doesn’t mean he wasn’t in pain. Also- Annabeth slammed him on a stone pavement on his back. That definitely hurts, even if Percy is a demigod, physically strong, and has gotten hurt a lot. There’s a difference between ‘playful hitting’ and actually hurting someone. Yes they trained a lot, but this isn’t training. This is Annabeth punishing Percy for being traumatized with yet another life-threatening quest and being kidnapped. I don’t remember Percy judo-flipping Annabeth after he saw her again when she got kidnapped in TTC. Besides, the Romans were about to take out their weapons when they saw Annabeth attack Percy, so if all of them thought it was an attack...it was most likely an attack. Even Annabeth said herself “I only attack my boyfriend like that”. The thing is, if it was Percy who flipped Annabeth over his shoulder and slammed her on her back or punched her in the gut, all the fans immediately would’ve freaked out and cancelled him, calling him a horrible and abusive boyfriend, but because it’s the girl hitting the guy, it’s fine apparently. Nothing wrong with it, right? And then Riordan (and the fandom) had the audacity to romanticize that abuse. Abuse isn’t a sweet, romantic gesture. Stop making it seem like it is. That’s disgusting.

2. Annabeth is also verbally abusive and toxic. Annabeth canonically lowered Percy’s self-esteem, constantly insulted him and his intelligence despite knowing he was insecure about it and always getting kicked out of schools and getting bad grades (even with her so-called ‘endearing’ name for him ‘Seaweed Brain’), and the overall idea of Percabeth is a super smart, pretty girl making a guy with below average intelligence feel insecure about himself. Percy’s self-esteem has plummeted since he met Annabeth and her behavior is never called out or even noticed, which implies some manipulation going on. Annabeth is shown to be extremely capable of manipulating her enemies and anyone else she pleases, and there are quite a few signs she’s using it against Percy (his feelings of obligation, fear, and guilt of and over her, questioning himself, having strings attached, always only thinking of her and no one else in his life, etc.), especially since Percy begins to gradually stop noticing Annabeth’s wrong and toxic behavior as the story progresses.

3. Annabeth only likes Percy cause he’s the chosen one. Annabeth only hung around Percy since The Lightning Thief cause she thought he was ‘the one’ and so she could finally go on a quest. She literally used Percy to go out to the mortal world and ‘prove herself’ cause really, all she cares about is glory, which is shown multiple times throughout the series with all her pride and ambitions. Plus the fact that Chiron made Annabeth swear on the River Styx that she would keep Percy from danger is a pretty clear sign she didn’t stick around him just cause she wanted to, but because she felt obligated to and cause it would benefit her. Take all of this and it’s kind of obvious Annabeth only hung around Percy cause he was the chosen one of the prophecy, a son of one of the Big Three, and was destined to go on multiple quests and play a big part in the mythological world, which is what she always wanted since book one.

4. It was forced. Since the beginning of book one, it was so obvious that Percy and Annabeth were going to get together that their relationship ended up being boring, dull, and flat. Riordan made it so obvious they were going to be a couple that nothing that happened to their relationship really mattered, cause everyone knew it would work out in the end (which is probably why everyone *wrongly* hated on Rachel) so what happened in between didn’t matter. Their relationship was the typical ‘male lead and female lead’, ‘bad boy trouble-maker skater and nerdy good girl’ power couple that was way too clear. And Riordan made it worse by pushing their relationship and shoving it into the readers’ faces way too much. In MoA Annabeth states that she’s always had a crush on Percy (since they were twelve) which immediately rips all the development their relationship (which was supposedly ‘friends to lovers’, but not anymore) had away. Riordan made up a bunch of honestly dumb scenarios that were legit cringe to make Percabeth seem like ‘OTP’ that really didn’t make sense.

5. It ruined their characters. Percy and Annabeth would’ve been way better off as just friends. After they got together in HoO, all their personality and everything else that made them independent was destroyed to make room for more ‘Percabeth’. All of Annabeth’s skills, bravery, intelligence, pride, ferocity, judgmentalism, and all the other traits and flaws that made her a well-written character were never utilized or even mentioned. All she thought about was Percy, and the same goes for him. His loyalty, sarcasm, humor, obliviousness, etc. disappeared to make room for arrogant Annabeth fanboy. In PJO, they were amazingly well-written and great role models for younger readers (especially Annabeth), but in HoO their characters were exclusively ‘Annabeth’s boyfriend’ and ‘Percy’s girlfriend’. Their characters were completely dependent on each other, and they were way better off as just friends.

6. Annabeth is way too possessive. And creepy. It’s fine and honestly normal for people to get jealous when another person likes someone they do, but Annabeth’s jealousy was downright creepy. Not only did she not know if her feelings for Percy were reciprocated or not, but she also didn’t know if Percy and Rachel liked each other, either. The very first time she met Rachel she immediately hated her. That’s not ‘I’m jealous cause this girl likes the guy I do’, that’s ‘I’m jealous cause the guy I like has another female friend’. She had no reason to believe that Rachel and Percy liked each other and has no say in who they can like, either. She thought that she and Percy absolutely had to be in a relationship and that he couldn’t even have friends with different genitals than him. And remember when Annabeth literally stalked Percy in The Sea of Monsters? Like when she creeped by his window, constantly watched him, and kept tabs on him just cause she ‘couldn’t find the right time’ to tell him something cause he was ‘never alone’ despite him being alone multiple times and despite the fact that she literally could’ve just knocked on his door like a normal person instead of creeping around his cabin and staring at him through the windows? Again- switch the roles. If it was Percy who was stalking Annabeth, everyone would’ve immediately called him a creep. If- according to Tumblr and almost everyone who read Twilight- Edward is a creep for stalking Bella, then Annabeth is a creep for stalking Percy.

7. It’s mostly fan love. Honestly, the fandom is the only thing that fuels Percabeth. Riordan just destroys it. He shoved it down the readers’ throats, forced it way too much with really dumb and honestly unrealistic scenarios, and made it abusive and toxic. On its own, Percabeth freaking sucks. The fandom’s version of Percabeth is 1000x better than whatever the hell Riordan was doing, but even that version is toxic. Like, I’ve seen way too many jokes about Annabeth hitting Percy (as if abuse is hilarious and amazing meme fuel and not an extremely sensitive topic that triggers multiple people who actually went through it). Half the time, the fandom fixes Percabeth and the other half of the time they over-glorify and ruin it. The fandom over exaggerates and over glorifies it way too much. It’s not that great of a relationship, to be honest. Most of y’all only like it in the first place cause Riordan made it canon.

8. It was cringey. Like I said above, Riordan wrote some really dumb scenes for Percabeth. I mean- the matching gray streaks in their hair despite Atlas and Artemis not getting any? Percy’s tie to the mortal world while bathing in the River Styx being Annabeth and not his mom, Grover, etc.? Percy only remembering Annabeth, the girl he’s only known for four years and not his mom, the only woman who actually cared for and took care of him or Grover, his best friend who protected and continuously cared about him? Percy turning down immortality only for Annabeth and not even bothering to mention the pain of leaving behind his life, friends, family, memories, etc. behind if he accepted it? The romanticized judo-flip? The whole ‘dark-haired rebellious bad boy/nerdy blonde good girl who can be bad’ trope? Even the boring predictability of Percabeth is cringe.

9. It’s a bad influence on younger readers. Basically the lesson of Percabeth is ‘Once you get a love interest nothing else in your life matters’. Besides that one single scene that took like three lines in The Son of Neptune, Percy never even thought of his own mom, nor did he think about any of his friends or passed allies like his dad, Rachel, Grover, Paul, Silena, Luke, Ethan, Bob/Iapetus, Tyson, Calypso, Charles, Michael (whose death he accidentally caused), Bianca, Zoë, etc. Even when in Tartarus with the curse of the Arai being forced to remember all the people he forgot and feeling guilty about abandoning Bob and Calypso, all he thought about was Annabeth. Even when faced with the man who broke the heart of the girl who sacrificed herself for him, Percy didn’t even think of her, only his jealousy of Jason. Same thing with Annabeth. She never thought about her mom, Luke, Thalia, her step-mom or step-brothers, etc. It was all about Percy. Cause yes, Riordan, that’s exactly the lesson you should teach your younger readers- forget everyone you ever knew the moment you get a partner. Besides that, it also teaches readers that being rude to people who like the same person as you is completely okay cause no one will care and once you start being rude, bitter, and possessive you’ll get exactly what you want (that’s literally what happened, with Annabeth and with Calypso, too). He also teaches that after you get a partner, everything that makes you you will disappear and you’ll be completely dependent on them and nothing in your life will matter, even your own independent life and personality.

10. The fandom tries to excuse and explain Annabeth’s behavior??? What??? Since when does explaining and excusing hitting people put you in the right again? And the excuses aren’t even good, too! Percabeth fans use- Annabeth was full of emotions/mad and doesn’t know how to deal with emotions. Annabeth really loved Percy. It was only one time. Annabeth was worried about Percy and mad that she left him. Annabeth didn’t mean to hurt him. Annabeth didn’t know what she was doing cause she was full of emotions. ??? Annabeth was full of emotions/mad and doesn’t know how to deal with emotions- Annabeth was seventeen years old, the daughter of the wisdom goddess, and is supposedly the smartest character in the series who is shown to be extremely good at reading people and their emotions. And y’all are really trying to say she doesn’t know how to deal with her emotions? Annabeth really loved Percy- SO? A mother might really love her child, does that excuse her for hitting them for dumb reasons? It was only one time- actually, it was twice, and so what? If someone was slapped across the face ‘only one time’, does that mean they weren’t abused? ‘Abuse’ doesn’t mean ‘hit constantly’, it means ‘hit’. If someone was hit, they were abused. Is that really not a known fact in this fandom? Annabeth was worried about Percy and mad that she left him- last time I checked, people didn’t hit others when they were worried about them. If I was worried that my friend was going to get hurt, I wouldn’t hurt them myself. That literally makes no sense. And again- Percy didn’t leave Annabeth. He was kidnapped. Do y’all not know the definition of that, either? Annabeth didn’t mean to hurt him- yes, cause that’s why she decided to flip him over her shoulder, slam him on a stone pavement on his back, and punish him for ‘leaving her’. Annabeth didn’t know what she was doing cause she was full of emotions- Annabeth??? the daughter of the wisdom goddess??? not knowing what she’s doing??? huh??? I mean, would any of you really, legitimately try to use any of these dumb excuses to excuse a man from hitting his wife? Hopefully not. And if you did, you would immediately get hated on and legit cancelled. So what makes this any different? Also- I see the excuse ‘Annabeth didn’t know Percy lost his Achilles Heel and thought he was still invincible’. Under different circumstances I’d accept that, but Annabeth knew that Percy’s Achilles Heel was on the small of his back...BUT SHE SLAMMED HIM ON HIS BACK. If Percy hadn’t lost the Achilles Heel, Annabeth literally would’ve killed him. Abusive enough for y’all? Or is attempted murder excusable and still ‘OTP’?

11. They had no chemistry whatsoever. Was I the only one who felt...absolutely no chemistry between Percy and Annabeth? Like some of their moments were cute, their friendship was really good, and they had a lot of potential, but they didn’t feel right for each other. Remember- opposites don’t attract (they just argue, and no one has ‘another half’ that needs to ‘complete them’, everyone is their own person), they cancel each other out. I mean, Reyna and Annabeth had more chemistry in that one chapter of the New Rome tour in MoA than Percy and Annabeth had in 12+ books. They’re just...not right for each other, I guess.

Edit 2: Sorry if I offended anyone with that last note. Just wanted to let y’all know that I am not here to start any drama, hurt anyone, or disrespect any Percabeth shippers. I respect your opinions 100% and only ask you do the same for me. Like I literally only wrote this at 12 am when I was bored and had nothing else to do and couldn’t sleep (same goes for pretty much everything else I write about PJ). Besides, why argue and start drama over dumb stuff like that when we can just find something we agree on? Don’t like Piper McLean? Let’s talk about that. Think Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano is a queen? Let’s talk about that. Think Nico di Angelo is freaking amazing? Let’s talk about that. Think Theyna would be adorable? Let’s talk about that. Want someone to vent to about writer’s block? Why the hell not? Want random writing advice and tips for writer’s block? Sure, I got plenty. okay but on the topic of glee fandom, since we seemed to be in different parts of that fandom (I was more on the femslash side) what was the craziest glee fandom drama that you personally witnessed

Part of me just wanted to say "Canniblaine" as a one word answer. But like the real answer is that it was never NOT crazy, honestly. But if I had to answer......well, let's talk about s2 in a nutshell.

(Don't worry, Canniblaine will be explained).

So, in summer of 2010, Puckurt (my beloved) was the most popular Kurt ship on ff.net, the fics then were all sweet and fun and normally had a lot of just pure Glee bonding. And Kurt fans were excited since Ryan Murphy promised repeatedly that Kurt would get a jock boyfriend and the two of them would be crowned Prom King and King. Eventually, Jane Lynch said in some interview that they casted a blond boy to play a kid named Sam who would be Kurt's love interest. I can't remember for sure if she was also the one who confirmed that there would be a love triangle with him, Kurt, and Quinn.

But RIB—Ryan, Ian, and Brad, the original and only screenwriters until s3—were NOT fans of their cast leaking spoilers. And eventually they say, no, that's not happening, Chord and Dianna have too much chemistry!!! We're not doing that plot anymore.

But they had been known to lie about certain plots happening when people guessed things correctly. When Idina Menzel was cast in s1, everyone was like "oh she's playing Rachel's mom". They denied it and, wouldn't you know it, she was cast to play Rachel's mom. So, keep that in mind.

Anyway, s2 premieres, we meet Sam. He seems fun, he's cute, there's even a gay joke in his very first scene where he gets actual lines. In the third episode, he gets injured at the football game, whatever.

Then the glorious episode 2x04 "Duets" happens. Truly a magnificent piece of television with some of the best performances. Santana and Mercedes doing "River Deep/Mountain High"? THE MOST FUCKING ICONIC THING. Kurt doing "Le Jazz Hot"? PERFECTION. Tina and Mike doing "Sing!" from A Chorus Line? THE BEST FIRST SONG MIKE COULD'VE BEEN GIVEN AND SO CUTE! Ending with Rachel and Kurt doing "Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy"? BEAUTIFUL. And, yeah, the Finchel verison of "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" is cute and I guess Sam and Quinn doing "Lucky", while not making sense in terms of their relationship, was sweet.

But, despite what RIB said, it was clear that "Duets" was meant to introduce this love triangle with Kurt, Sam, and Quinn. You canNOT tell me that this was NOT both of them flirting with each other. They have amazing chemistry, I'm sorry, you can't deny that. So, that means either RIB were lying about changing the plot, or they waited to change the plot after 2x04.

Then 2x05 happens and that's "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" and we don't talk about that mess.

Anyway, I joined tumblr for Glee fandom literally the day before episode 2x06 came out. And season 2, episode 6 was..... "Never Been Kissed".

And that's when all hell broke loose.

Because NBK, as fans called it, introduced us to Blaine fucking Anderson played by, of course, Darren Criss.

The. Heaviest. Of Sighs.

I remember I was so excited for that, though. I was a Klainer before the ep even aired because I lOVED him. It was only a 3 episode guest arc, but I was sure they'd keep him, and I believed RIB was telling the truth and they were really done with the Kurt/Sam plot. And, evne looking back at it, while I say "Duets" is the last GOOD episode of Glee…NBK is honestly a good episode. And in 2011 especially, it was kind of a big fucking deal.

But the thing about NBK was that, not only did it propel Klaine into existence, it also created Kurtofsky with one kiss in the locker room.

So, now there were THREE ship possibilities arguing all over the place. Klaine shippers who rejoiced as Darren got offered more episodes as a guest actor (his original version of "Teenage Dream" was and I think still IS their best selling single on iTunes, so of COURSE they wanted him around); Kurtofsky shippers who wanted to see this scared, tortured jock redeemed (some of these shippers I know for sure were Puckurt fans, since, yeah, some dynamics were similar enough); and Kurt/Sam shippers who believed RIB was lying as they had in the past (the whole Idina thing).

Btw, there were already arguments over the fucking name for Kurt/Sam because fuckyeahgleesecrets wouldn't let people submit secrets that said "Kum" because it was "obscene"—but having "fuck" in their blog url was fine. I can't find it but once someone sent in a weirdly worded secret that supported Klaine, but then you looked at the first letter of every sentence and it said like "Kum At Me" or something, which was hilarious and got deleted.

Anyway, there was a SHIT TON of fighting. Klainers would say it was the "Klaine Train" but Kummers, as they called themselves, would call it the Klaintanic, like Titanic, saying the ship would fail, and they'd be safe on the Kum canoe. I'll admit I was on that canoe eventually because I hated Klaine by the time it became canon lmao. And I also believed, like other Kummers, that it would still be canon. After all, Dianna and Chord having "too much chemistry" was obviously a lie and they even broke up Sam and Quinn a few episodes into the second half of the season! Oh, and Kurtofsky became pirates based off the sea/ocean thing. I accidentally created the Puckurt centaur, it's a long story.

Anyway, so s2 was wild, with those three mentioned ships constantly fighting. Klainers saying they'd be canon (we all been knew, honestly), Kurtofsky shippers excited over the "Prom Queen" episode being spoiled by an extra, and Kummers holding onto the hope that it would still happen. They'd say something I can't remember like.... "Kum quick on our tittsana faithfully" or something, basically the idea that the endgames were Kum, Quick (Quinn/Puck), Brittana, Finchel, and they'd also often mention Tartie.

Also, did I mention that b3achd3ath aka peyton, who wrote that terrible YA novel everyone was roasting recently, was one of the loudest Kum canoe members?

Did I mention that gr@ceebooks was, like, the Kummers' leader? As in the person who eventually created The JohnLock Conspiracy???? Also led people into believing that another slash ship would become canon????!!!! THOSE WHO DON'T LEARN HISTORY ARE DOOMED TO FUCKING REPEAT IT!

The funny part was that Grace admitted it wasn't going to happen before the s2 finale that was like everyone's final hope that Kum could possibly happen.

The not so funny part is that it's clear, imo, that Chord WAS hired to be Kurt's love interest and they cut it off since Darren made them a shit ton of money with "Teenage Dream" and the whole Warblers thing (I will NOT get into that, this post is long enough), and they clearly didn't know what to do with him after that. Hence why they got rid of him after s2 only to bring him back after enough backlash I guess idk why, and that's also why there's a gifset of Chord kissing every single original Glee girl because they LITERALLY did nOT know what to do with him once they took away the Kurt love interest thing. And it's a shame because the idea of Quinn and Kurt both going after the same guy sounds like SUCH a good plot. Dianna and Chris were two of the strongest actors, and Chord is actually really underrated as an actor, too—good on him for being the leading male against Lindsay Lohan in her comeback movie, I want him to have success after all the shit he went through on Glee. I want all of them to have good things, really (well, not L3a but lmao ya know, and obviously not fucking Bl@ke Jenner, I'm so mad he's still in that Merrily We Roll Along movie adaptation), since they all went through so much.

Oh, and many Klainers started to ship "Criss Colfer" (Darren and Chris, obvi), and claimed PR was keeping them from being openly a couple. As if they WOULDN'T WANT that PR????? Of their same sex couple falling in love on set like wtf PR would want that more than anything??? And, in classic fashion, that led to people sending death threats and harrassing Darren's then gf, now wife, on social media and them stalking any guy who got close to Chris. Chris has been dating the same guy since like at least 2012 I think, and, as said, Darren got married, and some people are still convinced they aren't real relationships, like they're more insane than the fake baby 1ders.

Oh, and of course, Canniblaine.

The Glee Kink Meme—gkm—is a place I wish I never went to, honestly. Like, I was 18 when I first found it, and it fucked me UP. I have said it before and I'll say it again, I'm so concerned for anyone hwo found it under 18. Not in a clutching pearls way, because, yeah, read smut, idc, but this stuff was FUCKED UP. People MADE UP TWINS just to write tw*ncest. Like, literally, there was a trend of Kurt having a twin named Cameron, and eventually people would use like, Chris' character in Struck By Lightning (the movie he wrote and starred in), as one. I remember finding another kink meme for another fandom and like braced myself only to find like…normal fucking smut prompts. No beastality, no gore, no mpreg, no boypussies—and, no, it wasn't that Kurt was a transman, it was that he just had a vagina for some reason, sometimes he WOULD have a cock, too, though, so…Idk.

And I definitely didn't see vore prompts.

And definitely not FILLED vore prompts.

But before Klaine had even sung "Baby It's Cold Outside", someone filled a vore prompt. Wherein Blaine ate Kurt alive.

…This was supposed to be a show the whole family could watch…

There were various memes of the 2010 variety, the best being, of course, the one of him saying, directly from their first duet, "Gosh, you lips ARE delicious". People were daring others to read it.

I made it about a sentence in, realized I was eating a pizza hot pocket (say you were a freshman in college without saying you're a freshman in college, am i right?), and put it down, closed that tab, and I have yet to eat a hot pocket since.

I have to admit this gif still cracks me up though:

The Rookie: 3x09 Amber Thoughts/Spoilers

I have… a LOT of thoughts about this episode. Unsurprisingly, the majority of them are Chenford related, but I had a LOT of West and Lopez feels too, so. Here we go. I started to try to get my feelings out, but it just became me copying quotes that I either laughed or had other feelings about, so…

“Grey’s busy, and Smitty’s getting a back tattoo.”

“That’s --”

“Don’t ask.

-- When I say I laughed out loud. Jackson and Smitty’s relationship is one of the best callbacks this show does, and every mention of that ridiculous man is hilarious.

“But it’s super important she doesn’t get shot today.”

“No promises. You ride with me, you ride the rollercoaster.”

-- Nyla Harper is my favorite person. She was excellent in this episode, from the very beginning to the sweet moment at the end (that ending scene did NOT need to be about Nolan, this should have been solely focused on Lucy and Jackson and what they accomplished today, but I can’t say I’m surprised. But Harper made it better.)

Tim tossing the list out the window immediately.

“You know, littering is a $250 fine.”

“Worth it.”

Lucy pulling a backup list right out. They know each other SO well.

-- HILARIOUS. Although I’ll admit my guard was up the moment she pulled that list out and used the word “trickery.” It worked out differently than I thought it would, but… well. We’ll get to that.

“I knew my TO would be important to my career. But I don’t know. I didn’t realize how important you’d be to my life.”

-- I should have been more prepared for the Lopez and West feelings today. Their relationship probably started out the rockiest of all the TO/rookie pairings, and maybe rightfully so… but it’s become the least complicated, the closest to friendship the fastest, and their bond is just really something. Jackson was right - a LOT has happened in their 13 months together (yes, show, I remember exactly how long it’s been -- do you?) and they’ve both grown and changed in such wonderful ways. Angela looked sentimental the whole episode (while still being her badass, hilarious self) and West looked SO relaxed, it was such a lovely bookend to their first days together.

“I wish someone taught me how to be in this one.”

“Oh, so we are in a relationship.”

-- All the references to a relationship were good, if not entirely baity. But Tim’s delivery of that line was amazing and made me laugh out loud. He sounds so long-suffering and very much like an exasperated husband, and it really pinpointed one of the ways they interact that just WORKS so well. It just feels natural, and Eric Winter’s delivery was great.

“Tell me the truth -- Am I gonna poop myself?”

-- This entire conversation was so randomly hilarious (but added levity they all clearly needed then). Harper and Lopez are hilarious together and I truly wish the show gave us more of that.

“Don’t worry -- I will personally stand watch over your kid until you leave the hospital.”

-- Jackson West. I love you.

“I really hope our last shift together doesn’t end with that.”

“Yeah, me too.”

-- EMOTIONS.

Tim distracting her with her list. The man KNOWS her. And him acknowledging that she’s been to hell and back. Again, I say -- EMOTIONS. It was such a good callback to him knowing she needs to focus on work and order and process to remain calm in some situations.

“One look from you could send me into a tailspin.” And one day, it will again -- in an entirely different way, I am SURE. The way they both knew she was referring to Plain Clothes Day was great.

“I dunno. Smitty is surprisingly maternal.”

“That is the most horrifying idea I’ve ever heard, and I want it to be a reality show so bad.”

“Right? I would watch the hell out of that.”

-- Lowkey this was the most hilarious exchange of the night. I would also watch the hell out of that reality show. All these little moments made me miss Lopez and West together so much. Their scene at the end of the episode was lovely. All the times he thanked her. Please still let them interact often. The show NEEDS it.

“We did it.”

“No. You did it.” THE MOST TIM BRADFORD THING I’VE EVER HEARD.

“Office Chen impressed me with every decision she made today. I will miss riding with her.”

The callback to the evaluation in Plain Clothes Day. My heart skipped a beat, honestly. The way that Tim was looking at her in this scene while she read the note was… it was a lot, and apparently too much for me to process currently because that’s the most intelligible thing I’ve got to say about it.

“You don’t let anyone ever tell you you can’t do something. Not even me.”

-- WHILE HE HELD THE HANDSHAKE. This one line tells you all you need to know about Tim Bradford and his RELATIONSHIP with Lucy Chen, honestly. He knows she’s “as tough as they come” and has “been to hell and back” and he knows, even if it scares him, even if it gives him flashbacks to Isabel, that she can do it.

Her gift to him was such a nice callback. For a show that doesn’t seem to track or care about its actual timeline, they’ve done a wonderful job with callbacks especially this season, and especially Tim and Lucy related ones. All the Caleb/Rosalind stuff. All Isabel mentions. Multiple mentions of Plain Clothes Day and their first day riding together, etc.

Every. Single. Time. He has called her Lucy this season, I have had to compose myself, none more than in this episode. I do kind of wish they’d waited until that last moment to have him call her Lucy (to her face, we all know I don’t think the phone call scene from season one, although one of their very best moments, counts)... it might have felt slightly more impactful (although the moment in the season premiere was great in its own way.)

Honestly, it was a little weird for me watching the show tackle their final moments as TO/rookie because I’ve written so many versions of that myself? (And look, I’m not gonna lie, their version gave me feelings, but I liked mine better). I wish that truly lovely garage scene hadn’t come on the heels of that “confession” scene, but it did help make up for it.

You might have noticed that I specifically skipped over that “confession” scene in the shop. As soon as he started talking about lying and UC work, I said “ugh” and then immediately wrote the scene in my head -- down to her laugh, it was that predictable once you got the gist. And I’m going to be honest -- if I had written it, I would have deleted it.

I KNEW going in -- and I think most people will agree -- that this was not going to be a true confession. That we weren’t going to get a Chenford love confession tonight (and please, can we discuss that ‘canon’ and ‘endgame’ are not interchangeable for just a sec.) But the way it happened just felt SUPER ship baity, and using it in the promo even more so. I just felt super pandered to in a ridiculous way that didn’t leave me with the most pleasant feelings about the writers… the garage scene at the end definitely helped, but overall the confession scene left a sour taste.

The thing is -- the things she said? How he saved her? How the reason he’s protective of her is that he might have feelings too? Those are all valid things! And things that, at least in fic, I believe. But watching that scene, me, someone who can read something shippy in the TINIEST glance? I didn’t FEEL those things. I wasn’t nodding along like “yep, yep, that’s all true” -- there wasn’t a moment during that scene where they looked at each other and I thought “yes, this is hitting too close to home for one of them.” Maybe that’s just me. I don’t know.

And I don’t know if that’s because I was too in my feelings about being badly pandered to, or if it just wasn’t there, or what. But… just overall I’m left with a feeling that it was just an entirely unnecessary scene that probably didn’t serve the ship well, just judging by some reactions I’ve seen.

Those feelings though? The ones I wanted to feel in that confession scene? I FELT THOSE, every single one of them, in the parking garage scene at the end.

Every look was perfect. Every pause, the handshake (a hug would have truly saved the confession mess, let's be honest, but can't be picky), the way he looked at her as she read, THAT is the writers do SO perfectly right for Tim and Lucy (and I know the majority of that credit goes to Eric and Melissa, because the moments that are the most impactful are the looks that just can't be entirely scripted.)

Do I still ship them with every fiber of my being? Yes, and nothing the writers do or don’t do will change that. Will I still (eventually again) write a million words about them falling in love how I think they should? Yes. Do I need the show to stick to moments like in the parking garage -- real, honest moments between them? YES. That is what the show gets right about their relationship. If they can just stick to those moments -- and somehow continue them and make them believable even if they’re no longer riding together -- I’ll be happy.

Am I worried about their interactions now that they’re no longer riding together? Yes. Their chemistry is honestly the best thing on this show. Giving less screen time to Lopez and West together has been rough -- not only on the relationships aspect that so much drives the show but on the timing/pacing as well -- and I worry that their best characters/best ship not sharing as much screen time will not help either of these issues.

Maybe they’ll surprise me. I hope -- I think -- they will.

(Random, but things I still need from this season: A Rachel mention? Don't get me wrong, if they want to forget her, I'm cool... but it feels like (even a fake love) confession should have been the right time to be like "I know this is awkward, you're dating my friend..." Come on, show. I don't care about her, but you tried HARD to sell us on her last season, so at least give her a two second mention to update us on what is actually going on. The Lopez-Evers wedding. (Do I think it'll be THE Chenford event most people are hoping for? No. But I'm ready to be proven wrong.) A continuation on Harper's love life. UPDATE ME on my girl.)

HELLO, YES, I HAD AN IDEA FOR A CONCEPT AND HAD TO SHARE IT WITH YOU, INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE BUT WITH THE BLUE DEVILS, LET ME EXPLAIN

(disclaimer I haven't watched Spider-Verse in a while)

(other disclaimer this will contain many many spoilers for Into The Spider-Verse so go watch it it's amazing)

Wachowski takes the place of Miles, which makes sense. Sonic has more specialized powers than the other blue devils (see unlimited power, time freezing, lightning), like Miles, and they both have cop dads who are literally amazing (I mean, look at the "that's a copy" scene and tell me it doesn't radiate Tom and Sonic energy).

Boom takes the place of Peter B purely because both of them radiate exhausted "I am completely done with this bullshit" energy

Modern and Classic I'm not completely sure. Classic radiates feral energy based on what I'm seeing from your characterization (I literally just joined this fandom because of the movie, I don't know a lot about the games, sue me), so maybe Porker or Penny would work for him (or maybe some combination of the two, they all radiate sort of unhinged feral energy). Modern taking the place of the original Peter would work because they both have extremely cocky energy (I don't know if you can tell I'm assigning who's who based on energy), but then again, the original Peter dies, so... Fuck.

There is the possibility of different versions of Tails and Knuckles or the Prickle Posse taking the place of some of the characters, so that's something fixed. But then again... Several Sonics being chaotic...

There are characters who I honestly... don't know. Aaron, for example. Do I have Rachel take his place, since she's Maddie's sister and therefore Wachowski's aunt? What about the other villains? Aunt May? Spiderman Noir? And Gwen is a WHOLE other can of worms, so I'm just not gonna get into her because shipping is a big can of worms

So basically the plot goes the same. This is a society where humans and Mobians coexist, Tom and Maddie adopted Sonic when he was a kid shortly after Longclaw's death (which had nothing to do with echidna this time), Wachowski either gets bit by a radioactive bug or he gets exposed to a Chaos Emerald, that gives him super speed, other shenaniganery, loads of Sonics, time limit to most of them dying, you get the picture. This is just a rough draft of a plot, so if you have any improvements, please tell me.

👀 this is almost beat for beat what I had in mind when thinking about this very crossover

As for what I had:

Classic was Porker, Amy was Gwen, Cream and Cheese were Penni and her robot, and Spider Noir was a version of Shadow

Aaron was actually Longclaw in this case? I didn’t have any details but the claws and stuff kinda matched

Tails and/or Knuckles took the place of Aunt May

And that’s about it :P

• favorite thing about them: Ax is honestly the dichotomy between his character. One moment he can be eating popcorn off the floor and the next he’s agonizing over choosing between loyalty to his own people and loyalty to his friends. I love how silly and fun he can be, and I love how serious his values are to him. Things like loyalty, honor, and justice.

• least favorite thing about them: Ableism :| that sure was a choice the ghostwriter made in book 40. I don’t like the imperialist/nationalist attitudes but his character is a critique on them too so I don’t hate that about his character I just think he should get well soon

• favorite line: “So, did you know that the cream separator was invented in 1878?” NO I did NOT know that thank you Ax you’re doing amazing sweetie

• brOTP: I really like his friendship with Tobias, them connecting over both being outcasts and living in the woods together. And then later on finding out they’re family, it’s just… Ax is the first actually decent family Tobias has and it’s so sweet even though they’re forced to be child soldiers together

Anyways fellas is it gay to follow a guy you barely know into battle and time and time again choose him over your own people and refer to him as prince so often despite it not being necessary that it becomes an inside joke between you. Is it gay to be the first one to notice he’s been replaced by an alien despite having known him for the shortest amount of time. Is it gay to tell him you’ll stand by him no matter what while he clutches your hand and tells you to go home in an emotionally charged moment. FELLAS,

• nOTP: Besides the obvious, I don’t really like pairing him with a woman because I headcanon him as gay + experiencing comphet because Ax is really bad at interpreting his own emotions. Though this is a personal hc so obviously it’s fine if other people don’t share it.

• Random headcanon: I think him and Tobias are both autistic but experience it in different ways so they get to bond over it. I mean obviously the autistic-coded alien is a problematic trope but I’m rubbing my little autistic hands all over it because I think aliens are sick.

• unpopular opinion: Hmmm. I don’t know. Idk if this is unpopular but I think he was completely justified in hating Cassie towards the end of the series, even though her actions were ultimately for the best. Honestly I was yelling at Cassie when she gave away the morphing cube

• favorite thing about them: I like how thoughtful she is and how she always holds out hope for things to be better. I feel like a lot of the kids just give that up in favor of doing what they have to, and I like that she still looks for ways out of that.

• least favorite thing about them: If I knew her irl I might find it a bit annoying that the environment was the thing she cared about most and not human life. Also sometimes her morals are flaky and inconsistent. Like I really appreciate her role in the group of trying to be the voice of reason and keeping the others from going too far, but sometimes she’s bringing things up for that reason and not because she has an actual moral issue

• favorite line: idk but I like when she throws a snake at Marco for being sexist about the hork-bajir. Queen.

• brOTP: Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. The dynamic between them is so good. They’re so opposed in basically every way but it doesn’t matter. They have an extremely important bond and they’re trying so hard not to let the war take that away from them. *clenches fist* dear god

• OTP: I don’t feel very strongly about many Cassie ships but I like Rachel/Cassie a lot, I think their dynamic as friends carries well into a ship, and Cassie obviously has some very gay moments towards Rachel and vice versa… they admire each other so much

• nOTP: Cassie and Aftran. I’m sorry, but Aftran is stated to be an adult and it feels weird when people ignore that to ship them together. Plus even beyond that, I’d rather deconstruct what Aftran means for the war and for the yeerks than do shipping. Sometimes the themes of a story are more important than finding two characters to kiss, and I actually really like that romantic relationships take a backseat in animorphs

• random headcanon: After the war Cassie was the only one to get therapy and actually work through her trauma

• unpopular opinion: Cassie shouldn’t have been skinny in the visual novel. She’s described as chubby in the books and it’s lowkey weird that the artist doesn’t include that

PERCABETH - 100000000/10

Honestly this ship is the best ship and pretty much 99% of the fandom agrees with me. You cannot deny that this is a wonderful ship, not even keeping count of everything that happened during Heroes of Olympus. There’s only one ship I loved more than this, and it wasn’t in this series, so let’s keep going

CLARISSE x CHRIS (I don’t know the name) - 9/10

Only reason I didn’t rate it 10 was because it wasn’t explored nearly enough (because Percy is a dumbass). But honestly I adore the idea of sweet caring Clarisse when Chris came back absolutely crazy, and her healing him even though she’s a war demigod, which is basically the opposite of healing. I do approve and I want more of them in later books

SILENA x CHARLES (I don’t know the name of this either I’m sorry) - 11/10

I CRY. I AM IN TEARS. THIS SHIP. THIS SHIP MAKES THE ENTIRE FANDOM CRY. LOOK AT US. WE CAN’T CONTAIN OUR EMOTIONS. Yeah so this is a wonderful wholesome ship and we can all agree that we forgive Silena for what she did she is a hero and we adore her. (Same as we all forgive Luke.) And everyone loves Beckendorf as well obviously :)

PERACHEL - -10/10

Okay, don’t get me wrong. I love Rachel. (Not romantically ofc.) She’s an amazing character and I adore her. But this ship? I despise it. Percy doesn’t like her as more than a friend, and literally all she did was kiss him. Plenty of people have kissed him. Annabeth, his mum, Annabeth, Calypso, and Annabeth name just a few.

They're both emotionally vulnerable when they meet. I find her more down to earth than some of the others. They've been through some serious SHIT together. I just.... like them a lot. The idea of Steve going over to her place and making her a nice dinner... and it progresses REALLY slowly. Yes. I love it.

Kono and Danny are my BroTP for life. I love them so much. I love that they let go of the attraction between them in the narrative REALLY quickly. And that Danny just starts to see her as his badass coworker and friend instead. When the show first started I was worried it was going to become this annoying awful dynamic between them, Danny drooling over the hot girl all the time. So I was REALLY glad when they became best bros instead.

I will say this is tied with Steve and Chin... because I cannot tell you how hard I fucking cried when Steve is in surgery and Chin is telling the story about how they used to meet in the middle of the night for coffee and not even talk, just be together so they didn't have to be alone!!!!! My absolute fucking HEART!

I'm such a multishipper here that I honestly don't know that there are many answers for me... I guess most of the other Avengers with Spiderman... I just feel like Tom Holland does such an AMAZING job at playing Spiderman as young and naive that I think it would feel really weird to pair him up with any of them. It would feel like some sort of odd relationship dynamic with hero worship involved that I don't think I would care for. Same with Kate Bishop/Clint Barton... I'm not a fan of that older mentor/student dynamic in a ship.

What was the au where Jekylls pushed down the stairs and experiences a skull crackening again? Oh well but I've been thinking of a branch of that where Jekyll doesn't know hes dead like all day. I also cant remember if that was already discussed or not

The lodgers patch him up, he complains of a headache, and goes on his merry way! He's confused why all the lodgers are so nervous and being nice to him all of the sudden, why creature is looking at him with a stange mix of empathy and pity. He was told he fell down the stairs, fell unconscious, and obtained a bit of an injury. He cant fathom why Frankenstein is "The only doctor who can treat him" why he has to constantly go to her for checkups. Why Maijabi is suddenly following him practically everywhere.

Hyde squeezes back control for a moment and tries the potion but it doesn't work. Maybe a bit of pain but certainly no transformation. Jekyll assumes his injury or whatever medication they're giving him to treat it somehow negated the effects

Jekyll complains about "suddenly blacking out" the lodgers know its because his soul is slippery. They tell him it must just be a side effect of the injury and not to worry

How long can they keep it secret from him? When does he find out? Does he? Does it get to be years only for him to realize that he hasn't aged? That he still needs checkups from Frankenstein? Does he learn sooner? Does a lodger crack and say it? Does he rot? Does he notice how so very cold he is. How animals act around him? It's all very interesting,,

I actually did think a bit of Jekyll's kidnappers for the amnesia kidnapping au! When drawing that lil sketch of Henry and O'Leary meeting Robert I had considered making it so O'Leary was suspicious of Lanyon like "Oh theres no news anywhere of someone matching Thomas' description who's missing. But some random people walk up claiming to know him? Begging to take him back with them?" And he'd think they were the kidnappers. But ultimately I decided against it as I felt Lanyon and Rachel were pretty clearly, genuinely concerned for "Thomas" :p

I tried playing assassins creed once, the first(?) one. But the controls were confusing and everything was sorta thrown all at me at once, and I got bored of it quickly

But! I went to the store the other day and just so happened to notice Syndicate was being sold for 15 dollars 👀 So I bought it because funky Victorian assassins and your influence! It's a bit less confusing then the first ac game I tried but why is going down or dropping so hard bdksnks. I'm having quite a bit of fun! If you dont count my rage and annoyance-, the B button refuses to cooperate with me unless I'm looting corpses >:(

The b button being the bane of my existence aside, I AM having fun! I like the funky outfits and I want to play as the girl twin (evie?) forever because her clothes are good and shes better at attacking than jacob(?) For some reason. Probably the stun her weapon has? Oh well! I have not unlocked any new outfits yet, nonetheless I wish there were more.

Also! I was thimking, and my current quests are taking place at 1868? Did I get that right? And Jekyll is like 35 in 1885. So in game he'd be 18! An au like I believe you mentioned sounds very interesting 👀 but I must play more to know what's going on and daydream about it

But god, I really like that branch! Especially combined with the hc that he can't feel pain bc the HJ7 and the transformations made him immune. Frankenstein patched him up and made fleshweaver to heal the crack in his skull but it still has to be bandaged, he surely broke a few bones, yet all he has to do is to be careful because it doesn't even hurt. He doesn't even realize how severe the injuries are because it doesn't hurt, it very well might just have been that he accidentally slipped at the bottom of the staircase and accidentally hit his head on the railing during his fall, rather than getting physically pushed and flying down the stairs, shattering his skull upon impact with the marble floor. Y'know what would be extra fun? If he only starts getting a bit suspicious about how severe the injury was once he realizes his lungs stop breathing for minutes at a time when he gets distracted, or his heartbeat stops dead in his chest. I know that that's not how biology or even creature works but lets say the HJ7 is funky, Zombie Jekyll my beloved. Perhaps he would only fully grasp what had happened once he blacked out too much and 'passed out', but his soul slipped out enough to leave his body unconscious on the floor while his soul/ghost was just... Watching. And it's not until Maijabi (who, as you said, follows him everywhere) immediately calls for more Lodgers saying that Henry's soul is getting unstable and Frankenstein's lousy job is starting to shine through that he fully understands that it was not a mere hit to the head. Or maybe it is when days, weeks, maybe months has passed and the headache never goes away, he only feels how his body starts feeling so much more... Fragile and delicate, that the guilt has eaten Helsby up alive and he corners him and spills everything, knowing he is going directly against what the group agreed to but not being able to keep it a secret much longer-- or maybe Creature would tell him immediately, once Henry is, for once, alone perhaps days after the initial accident. He cannot see Henry struggle to understand what is going on when he already knows what's happening to Henry, his mind, and his body. He doesn't listen to the plan that Frankenstein and the Lodgers has set up and immediately tells Henry the first moment they are alone. That would certainly be horrifying, I can only imagine how the Lodgers would find Henry after that, once he actually knows and manages to process everything. He would be so mad, not only to have been killed in the first place, but also because he was robbed of an afterlife because the Lodgers were selfish and could not accept the consequences of their actions. He would be mad, he would be so pissed and I have no doubt he might actually be mad at Maijabi too for even agreeing to help Frankenstein and the rest of the Lodgers. That anger would not stay long, though. That anger would soon turn into misery and sadness and paranoia so even as Henry has tried to push Maijabi away, Henry still ends up on his doorstep begging him to help him make sure he is not rotting, because no matter what anyone says, he is sure he can see rotten spots and patches on his skin and he is just so scared and jdhfjsdfdsfsfs... <3

Ooooooohhh, I was actually daydreaming about this just this morning! Granted, I woke up at 5 and began to daydream to fall asleep quicker but I still like the thought of O'Leary being suspicious of Robert/Rachel/Jasper/the Lodgers bc he is protective of 'Thomas' and doesn't want anything bad to happen to him and especially with the idea that Henry still has hallucinations and they both think he was abandoned by his family, left to rot at a mental asylum. O'Leary might very well think that it might be Henry's friends and family that dumped him that Henry had 'escaped' the hospital and that's why they knew he was missing since the Asylum itself obviously wouldn't have posted the news... I really liked Jeks idea, okay? Like a lot, I absolutely love it <3

Oh, the oldest AC game I played was Unity bc it was free after the Notre Dame fire, and I can confirm, I played 15 min and could not get through it even if i would have wanted to, it absolutely sucks so i have no doubt the older games are just as frustrating <3

BUT!!!! I'M SO GLAD MY CORRUPTION IS SPREADING AND YOU BOUGHT AND PLAYED IT AND ARE ENJOYING IT SO FAR!!! Trust me, Syndicate truly is an absolutely amazing game and is definitely one of my top 3 games of all time. I sometimes play it w my friend watching me play and trust me, I know that rage of trying to do smt but the character does smt else... or you try to do smt but the game doesn't react and you miss your chance... Oh well, still a wonderful game <3

My friend loves to play as Evie as well but I'm definitely playing Jacob every chance I get and I honestly get a lil pissy when I have to play as Evie bc I always prefer to play male characters, plus, I just like Jacob better bc he is a sweetheart. He is also canonically bisexual as hell!!! Have you met Abberline yet? The police officer? Him and Jacob together is one of my fave ships for the game. I also bought the ultimate/golden/whatever name it was edition so I had a bunch of extra outfits, I love the sherlock holmes outfit for Jacob but my friend keeps bullying me for it </3

Honestly? The time difference is the bane of my entire idea for the au bc if it's during their time Henry hasn't even graduated yet, and definitely not well-known enough for them to actively meet for whatever reason, and if you use the timeline for the jack the ripper dlc (in 1888) a lot of... Less than pleasant things happen so it wouldn't really make a lot of sense for a crossover to happen at that point but maybe it's just bc im a pussy and refuse to play the dlc. Rn, while imagining the au, I just imagine the 1868 timeline to be the same as the TGS timeline. I like to imagine the Frye Twins hearing about Henry and the Society and promptly breaking into his office to ask him to make poison and stuff for them. I also have a feeling that Jacob would flirt wildly with Henry and that Henry would be less-than-amused. It would also be a very fun thing with the fact that there would be two Henrys, with TGS Henry Jekyll and AC Syndicate Henry Green, soo... XD
