Rewatching TDW bc I just love Asgard’s aesthetic and architecture

And other very obvious reasons

Loki is not responsible for his mother’s death

But the way he’s fully laying down on the ground hugging his wife, the woman he loved for centuries, in this moment he’s not a king, and if you take a closer look while all this is happening, she’s still breathing, her eyes flutter slightly, and in her last moments of life, the last thing she does is lean into her husbands touch one last time

THE MAN HIMSELF IS REDESIGNED!!!

Father of men; gautr of men; allfather; the aged gautr; delight of Frigg; eagle head; attacking rider; lord of Æsir; friend of wealth; enemy of the wolf; baldr's father; flaming eye; speak shaker, flashing eye and etc are but a few of Odin's many epithets. Father of Thor, Baldr ou Meili, Höðr, Heimdallr, Vali, Hermóðr, Hildólfr, Nepr, Sigi, Sigrlami, Skjöldr, Ítreksjóð, Sæmingr, Gauti, Vegdagr, Viglek, Winta, Casere, Saxnōt and many more, he is as old as is wise and as wise as he is power-hunger.

Son of Borr, he and his brother's Vili and Vé were the ones that slayed Ymir and from his body, created Asgard, Midgard and some other realms as well. With the flood that came with Ymir's death, Odin was also the indirect killer of hundreds of other giants in the great flood. With the Earth deity he'd created with a part of Ymir's flesh, he had Thor. With the tides, he had Heimdallr. With Frigg/Freyja, he had Baldr and Höðr. With Gríðr he had Váli and Víðarr and some many more with countless women.

With his hunger for power and knowledge, he gave his hunger for meat in exchange for two of Veðrfölnir's children Huginn and Muninn so he could be updated from the realms of everything; he exchanged of one of his eyes to drink from Mímisbrunnr; he stole from Suttungr's kingdom the mead of poetry and tricked Gunnlöð, who was guarding the mead into letting him take a sip from each night he spent with her. Three nights were spent and three sips he took, but each sip he took, each one of the three barrels he emptied and left the kingdom, leaving Gunnlöð bearing his child. These were only few of his countless stories after knowledge and power and maybe more will come in the future >:) but only future will tell.

He is designed at last!!! Dang I wanted so much to redesign Odin and he finally looks more overbearing, along his spear that looks way more powerful now, but he is not the last god that will be redesigned so keep in touch with my posts and even P4TR30N for exclusive and early content >:D

Allfather by Neon Odin

Okay. How do we feel about synthwave? Good? Great. Now, how do we feel about sweet guitar riffs? And brilliant, booming percussion? And Norse folk music played on traditional instruments made by the artist? And Odin himself looking sexy as fuck on the album art?

Yeah, me too babe. Me too.

Synthwave has had its hooks in me for the last year or so, which means I've heard a fair amount of it now. I don't think I've ever heard quite so inventive a synthwave album as Allfather (released 1 December 2023.)

Now, Allfather is indisputably synthwave—synths so fat and heavy you can barely squeeze them through your door, and a bassline to match. But Neon Odin (a.k.a. Hungarian black-/folk-metal artist vvilderness) layers on top of that delicious 80's sound some absolutely immaculate metal guitar work. It's the sort of screaming, unapologetic synth-rock that ought by rights to follow your protagonist down a neon-lit, rain-soaked alley.

But this is not just synthwave and metal. There's a secret third thing in the mix: Traditional folk instruments that elevate Allfather from "damn good synthwave" to music that demands and earns your full attention. The talharpa and nyckelharpa (which vvilderness apparently built themselves!) lead the album into sounds that defy time, space, and genre expectations. It's cyberpunk in a snowy, god-riddled fantasy land; or perhaps a collaboration between William Gibson and Neil Gaiman.

Whatever it is, I cannot get enough of it, and you need it too.
