Final horticultural post showing soon to harvest goodness, our allotment:

I think allotments might be an almost uniquely British thing where residents can apply for parcels of land for non-commercial agriculture. We’ve had this for about 5 years and share the work and produce with some friends.
It’s hard work, but there is nothing quite like the taste of sweetcorn that was on the plant twenty minutes before it went in one’s mouth.

[Now, on "Triple D," we have fulfilled but brief and fleeting your allotment of it. Fate. Oh, we've given you pizza, we've given you burgers, given you hot dogs, given you burritos.]

Parsnip has come to enjoy the allotment. He diligently positions himself on every piece of weed proof membrane I put down (I think because he thinks it is similar to me putting a blanket/settle mat down and he will get snacks).
He also paws at every stick I pick up, not because he wants them (if I drop them he seems confused) but I think just because he wants to be involved and receive attention

I do not know what age I was when I got lost in the pea-drills in a field behind the house, but it is a half-dream to me, and I've heard about it so often that I may even be imagining it. Yet, by now, I imagined it so long and so often that I know what it was like: a green web, caul of veined light, a tangle of rods and pods, stalks and tendrils, full of assuaging earth and leaf smell, a silent, sunlit lair. I'm sitting as if just wakened from a winter sleep and gradually become aware of voices, coming closer, calling my name, and for no reason at all I have begun to weep.

I haven’t posted for a while, but thought I’d share a particularly nice harvest from the veg garden this week 😍

Popping in for my yearly reminder to the internet that I am still alive. These photos sum up what I’ve been up to whilst I was gone.
