funny story about this actually. i listen to a band called nickel creek, and i have since i was little because my dad introduced them to me—their 4th album came out a handful of years ago after they had split up, and one of the songs was called hayloft. it's one of my favorite songs of theirs. then, my little sister listens to a song that sounds familiar. she said it's called hayloft. so my nickel creek, i discovered, did a damn good cover of mother mother's, which i hadn't even known they were the ones to make the original because i didn't listen to mother mother until just a few years ago.

anyway, about the song itself, it's hard for me to relate the lyrics back to canonical 🥭🍑, but what i can do is spin a funky little AU—and by funky i mean dark and tripitaka is the Bad Guy. and when i say bad guy i mean he is a monk with exorcism abilities and guess who he decides to exorciiise... and of course he is very self-satisfied about it because how dare that filthy demon try to manipulate his most devoted disciple back to his old ways! his only regret is that their relationship had gotten as far as it had.

he doesn't question it when wukong deserts him and decides wukong has taken time to himself to process everything that happened and perhaps even cleanse himself of the whole ordeal. meanwhile wukong is off on a destructive streak a continent wide that makes his havoc in heaven look like child's play—

always gives you a kazunya kiss as a thank you

a gentle baby, even to the guests

whenever a guest comes over to your house, they always gush about the cute white cat with a small red streak in his fur

kazunya doesn’t get zoomies. even if he does it’s rare like only once a week

always grooms himself to keep himself clean, not to mention his white fur sparkling as well

surprisingly enjoys bath times, would even suggest you to bathe him by tugging on your sleeve then pointing to the bathroom with his fluffy paw!

however there’s just one thing that kazunya does that makes you shiver

it’s that he always, always! brings you dead animals or bugs. birds, rats, mouses, cockroaches, crickets - anything that he managed to hunt - he brings over to you with his tail swishing happily behind him
