if i had a nickel for every time i was promised a movie that didn't pan out about a lesbian couple after the original show has ended, i'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it is strange that it has happened twice

Yo remember when Juliantina had a CHOKEHOLD on us? That show came out four whole years ago!!!
We were so blessed with content:

We freaking took over the telenovela awards and the show won the whole dang thing! (I do not see you he-who-must-not-be-named)

We really had it all y’all. Nothing quite like them since.

Cruz looks a lot like Barbara Lopez it’s uncanny
I do see it, but it's so funny you say that, because they've really been reminding me of Juliantina lately! I was talking to another friend about it and we were just thinking about how you have a rich, spoiled but sweet girl, VERY taken with this tough girl from the streets and the two just bond really quickly in their loneliness.
Also, the hand touch in the backseat in the preview, that reminded me so much of Juliantina's.
Except this is Juliantina:

Andddd this is Aaliyah and Cruz:

Just a touch more mature. :P

I think making a gl or a bl series can be some kind of a recipe to success..I mean, let's be real..the story of GAP the series wasn't extraordinarly good. What made it so amazing and successful was the fact that it was a gl show and it showed an extraordinarily beautiful love story between two wonderful women and FreenBecky portrayed them perfectly. I have witnessed this a lot of times. Just some random TV shows with a mediocrate storyline awaken the intrest of fans all over the world. I mean don't tell me any of you would have been interested in GAP the series or for example Amar a muerte (Juliantina) if it would have been a heterosexual love story. And this shows how desperate we all are for good representation. It's so rare, that wlw or blb couples are the main characters in TV shows and not just side kicks and they get a really accurate representation and aren't overly sexualised and only shown for the male gaze (This happens a lot in American TV shows in my opinion). And that's why we all go absolutely crazy when there appears a wlw or blb couple in some small show from Thailand or Mexico or wherever, that is allowed to have a real love story and a happy ending. Representation matters and I'm so thankful these shows exist and they deserve every little bit of their success!! And honestly it's so brave that these shows are produced in countries like Thailand or Mexico which never really had gl or bl shows before and without knowing how people are going to react to it. So much braver than Netflix or Hollywood although for these small shows there is a lot more to it and the risk of failure is much greater. But I think big companies have not only not understood how important representation really is, they also haven't understood that it can be the key to success. So they keep making no representation or very bad one and cancelling the good one after one season. Its really tiring. So let's keep supporting those small shows that give us all we ever dreamt of as good as we can!
