this week marks the 146-year anniversary of the St. Louis Commune of 1877 which powered the first general strike in us history and the first time workers had ever united and seized control of a US city.
German and French veterans of the 1848 revolutions and the 1871 Paris Commune, joined by members of the First International, led the revolt in my hometown. and rebellious, class-conscious workers rose up, embracing socialism as the solution to their exploitation.
the US isn't immune to Paris Commune–style eruptions of class consciousness. these types of historical events can provide valuable insights and motivation for an ongoing pursuit of a more just and equitable society, no matter how long ago they may seem to have taken place. in the grand scheme of things, our timeline is actually really quite small. America isn’t even 250 years old.
the St. Louis Commune of 1877 should be remembered by leftists today as a poignant reminder that the fight for workers’ rights and social justice can still transcend borders and can take root in unexpected places - even during a time that technology provided virtually no aid in these efforts - making the fight ever more important in locations today where workers desperately need representation.

You know what makes me foam? We just spent who knows how much money trying to find people who spent 250k each, for 1 million dollars total, to get Buried Alive at Sea. My dash is full of people fucking starving or without meds, and I can't afford to help them. Do you know how many of these people I could help if I had fucking 250k just laying around to use like I'm going to the fucking movies? That's enough money to be life-changing even if we split it up among 50 people. 5k each alone would be life changing. Hell we could probably do 1k each and it'd still be a Christmas Miracle. I'm just so fucking angry.

transphobic "leftists"
its crazy you see "leftists" being transphobic
you guys do get that transphobia/homophobia is all right wing bullshit right? the same people youre "against" right? trans people have existed for hundreds of years and we will continue to, and binary gender bullshit is all nazi white supremacist bullshit.
youre insane if you try to call yourself a leftist while saying that shit, when we want equality we want it for EVERYONE, when we want healthcare it INCLUDES TRANS PEOPLE, when we want safety we want to keep TRANS PEOPLE SAFE TOO. it isnt that fucking hard.
either youre obviously lying about it or you need to educate yourself on the basics

Every day I wake up I write for gay rights not because I want to fight the homophobes but because I want gays to see there are people who care for them.
Every day I wake up I write for transgender rights not because I want to fight transphobes but because I want transgender kids to know they are not alone in the world.
Every day I wake up I write for women's rights not because I want to fight sexist people but because I want women to know they are not powerless
Every day I wake up I write for the working class not because I want to hurt rich people but because I want the working class to see that they deserve better.
WAKE UP WE NEED HEALERS.

It is always time to move the Overton window as far to the left as possible. Do not compromise with fascists. Let’s reverse this bullshit violent trend.

something happened recently in my small town that i think is a microcosm of white “liberalism”. it’s not a secret that since a new juvenile detention center was built a few years ago, the high and middle schools have been targeting young black men, particularly young black men with special needs/mental illness/disabilities to fill it with. the school administrators and our local judge, a corrupt, nasty, crooked white woman, are rumoured to be making a ton of money as a part of this conspiracy. my grandmother, an advocate for special needs children, and my dad and aunt(teachers), have watched the school to prison pipeline with their own eyes, and my grandmother and several others in town have been trying to build a case for years against the judge and other corrupt individuals. recently however, an old white widow who has been a teacher at the high school for almost 50 years, and beloved by all, was fired for saying the n-word. she heard some students saying it and took a few minutes to educate them on why it’s racist to say it, but in doing so, she said it several times. some students videoed her and cut it up to make it seem like she was the racist one. the school promptly fired her. i think that’s a perfect representation of white “liberalism”. actively participating in systemic racism but robbing an old widow of her livelihood to maintain the superficial image of being politically correct.
