2023 YEAR IN REVIEW!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My artstyle changed a lot this year, especially after my shift from ibis paint to procreate after getting my iPad (drawing on an iPad is the BEST btw 100% recommend I love it way more than a phone and it didn’t die after a month like my old wacom 💀💀). I’m relatively happy with where my art is atm and I hope to continue to improve in 2024!
Explanation of all the silly art down below! (Mostly so I can tell y’all who the fanart is for but also cause I like rambling)
January: A drawing of my Rise Leo human design I did to test out a pixel brush I found for Ibis Paint. He’s very fun to draw hehe I need to draw him more-
February: I wanted to learn how to draw the future designs of Leo and Mikey along with CJ so I planned to draw them all together! I struggled with Leo though so I just got rid of him. Sorry Peepaw 😞😞💔💔💔
March: Fanart for @beannary ‘s TLP au! I love it so much so I had to draw smth for it hehe 😈😈💥💥💥 which reminds me I need to draw more at some point- might redraw it at some point cause I’m not super happy with how it turned out but I do like the idea a lot
April: The month I created Reticent! April’s Fools was the first episode I came up with so I drew a chapter poster! It ended up being very different to the chapter cover I drew a couple months later but it’s still cool :D Leo is being weirdly affectionate to Mikey though what the heck that isn’t like him smh. Although I guess it was meant to be purposefully exaggerated sooooo 🥰
May: Reticent Casey!!! I don’t have much to say it’s just Reticent Casey HDKSGXKSHD this wasnt a very good art month
June: Krangified Donnie is literally my favourite concept ever thats it that’s all I have to say dbskdbwkh I adore Krangified Donnie and if the Rise brainrot takes over the Reticent brainrot for a while then I will probably be drawing Krangified Donnie during that time sorry not sorry
July: Reticent Chapter 3’s cover yippee!!! Still my favourite Reticent cover although Chapter 8’s is a close second (I can’t wait to post it once it’s been betaread yippee!!!). The scribble over Leo’s eyes is literally just because I was struggling to draw his eyes and i was getting annoyed dbskdbskdb it’s actually a very common issue with him (common Ret!Leo L). Also Mikey being reflected in the mirror is a reference to Mirror Man by Jack Stauber which I’ve basically considered his theme song since @aaronymous999 introduced it to me ebwjcbkwhd thank you Mr. Aaronymous! Also somebody said he was in the barbie box and I still need to draw that to this day because Mikey would’ve killed to go see Barbie.
August: RET DONNIE WOOOOO he’s being bullied again!!! I drew that piece for a colour palette challenge request and realised I got the prompt wrong so I just made it into its own thing 💥💥💥 it’s usually a flickering light gif but I chose to just use the version with the light on for this post. The photos in the background were really fun to draw hehe either April’s or Mikey’s is my favourite.
September: MY 500 FOLLOWER DTIYS YIPPEE (/my 150 follower DTIYS for tumblr). This one took me. Forever to draw and I love it to pieces hehe it was really fun to design Mikey’s room and figure out outfits for the sillies and idk the concept of a sleepover just seemed really fun to me dbskbdkdb- and all the entries I got were so so awesome I loved them all to pieces!!! I still look at them all the time hehe
October: FANART OF @endlesslogo ‘S HUMAN RISE LEO DESIGN WOOOOOO!!! This was the piece I started rendering on hehe it was so much fun to draw!!!! Although I did have a fight with rendering the hair for over an hour svsjegksbdk HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT FR!!!
November: Me and my friends were working on a crossover between our TMNT iterations so I drew all of our Karai’s together!!! Confluence Karai is on the left, created by Salem and Marine, New Stars Karai is in the middle created by Starla, and Reticent Karai is on the right created by me! All our Karais have such cool designs AHHHHH literally dead over them constantly/pos
December: Most of December I spent drawing Christmas presents so this was my present for Salem!!! Confluence!Jonatello my beloved….

I’m generally pretty good with technology but today I had to use a Lenovo android tablet for work to take pictures of things to sell on eBay and write listings and it was genuinely the most unusable piece of shit I have ever had to deal with, mainly the camera. And not like, lens quality, but you’d press the shutter button and it would say that you took the photo you’d intended to take but when I’d check the gallery it’s all like, images taken like five second after the shutter had been tapped. So I’m taking photos of goods in a light box and every single picture was like, of my hands. Like, both hands placing or moving the object.
And then it was also annoying that absolutely everything was linked to google, so the gallery was a google gallery and not actually on the tablet itself, when you search the search bar it doesn’t search the tablet, it searches on chrome. Absolutely every app seems to want you to turn on a google AI assistant. Just a horrible tablet experience. And I confess I’m an Apple user and I know they’re their own type of awful but they are an infinitely more user friendly pieces of equipment.
In the end my solution was to take photos on my phone and then send them to the work email on the computer and then just just the PC to do the listings and, honestly it’s possible I’ll get told off for doing that but it turns out you actually can’t pay me to use that thing. At least not on my current wage.
Presumably, for personal use, in theory there has to be a workable good tablet that isn’t entirely running using google and isn’t an ipad, surely. I am not in the market for a tablet myself and I cannot change the work one but every iteration of a tablet at work we’ve ever gotten has been a similar deal and it’s made me wonder if other non-apple options even exist. Does google just infect everything now.

Saturday Morning Coffee
Tumblr media
The Takeout: ”Social media rumors don’t always prove to be true, but in the case of the Choco Taco, this one is sadly based in fact. RIP, Choco Taco, 1984-2022.”
This clearly the biggest, most important, news of the week. The Choco Taco wasn’t exactly a great treat but it wasn’t the worst.
I’m fine losing it as long at the It’s-it is never discontinued.
The Verge: ”Sounding like an exhausted parent, Mosseri agreed that Instagram’s new feed sucked and its recommendations might be bad and then told us it wasn’t going to get better. Instagram no longer cares about photos.”
I don’t have a lot of pity for Instagram. Unfortunately Facebook took a beloved application and platform and turned it into an ad platform. It’s not that businesses are bad for using it, why not use it? It’s bad because all I cared about was posting pictures and looking at my friends pictures.
There are much better alternatives today.
If you spent enough years using A/B tests to chase every little bump in engagement without any basis or logic behind what you’re changing or why, eventually people will find something else they like better for reasons you can’t understand. That’s the lesson of Instagram.
— Ken Kocienda (@kocienda) July 26, 2022
Do you want a chronological feed? No ads? No algorithms? Never having anything in your feed you didn’t put there? No celebrities selling you crypto nonsense? High quality photos with P3 color support? No public counts anywhere? Just photos? Only photos? You’ll love Glass.
— Glass (@tryglass) July 26, 2022
Glass is a wonderful alternative to Instagram and they don’t make you the product. The app just gets out of the way so you can see your feed of beautiful pictures. No ads, none of that Instagram garbage.
How do they manage to do it? By using an idea from long ago. They charge you $29.99US a year to use the platform and support running their business. Novel, right?
Oh, almost forgot, they have an iPad App and you can view pictures on the web without annoying prompts asking you to log in to view more photos. Imagine that, they embrace the open web.
Like most social networks I’m Fahrni on Glass.
Charles Chen: ”Whereas in the .NET ecosystem, Microsoft provides a rich set of professionally developed and curated first party libraries for many, many scenarios, JavaScript has no such governance.”
Look, I’m an old Microsoft Employee, via the Visio acquisition, and spent 20-years of my career building C++/Win32 applications. I still love using Windows and love Microsoft’s commitment to supporting old API’s, but .Net is amazing, especially when combined with C#.
I haven’t written any modern backend C# but I did enjoy the bit of time I spent developing backend code with it. It’s a really great platform if you’d like to be extremely productive.
I’d imagine that extends to the client side as well. My desire to write a cross platform Stream is dwindling. I believe I’ll do the Windows version in C#/.Net.
Robert Reich: ”Progressive states are becoming more progressive; regressive states, more regressive. As the states move to the left or right, state legislatures are becoming more active and important, while what happens in Washington is growing less so.”
This is a good read and worth a few minutes of your time.
The closing question is something I think about quite often.
The Verge: ”For Zuckerberg, the company he founded 18 years ago was facing existential threats on multiple fronts. Both Facebook and Instagram were being rearchitected to compete with TikTok. Apple’s iOS privacy settings had disrupted the company’s once-stable ad business, costing it billions in revenue. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg’s bet on the metaverse was a money pit that he didn’t see turning a profit until at least the end of the decade.”
I think we all knew Apple’s new privacy settings would put a dent in their earnings. Couple that with their constant morphing of their platforms; Facebook and Instagram, and their moonshot to be the leader in the Metaverse and it’s a perfect storm of misery. 🍿

Winter Storm
Jared Padalecki x Reader
Summary: You play Cordell Walker’s daughter on the new show Walker. Jared takes you under his wing. What happens when a winter storm hits all of Texas.
Warnings: Mentions of a rough upbringing, Texas winter storm, power outage, water problems, some angst, scary weather, fluff, protective Jared, maybe a cuss word somewhere
A/N: As a Texan, this past week has been scary. I have been extremely blessed to not have the problems that a lot are. I was lucky and did not lose power and did not have any pipes burst. This idea came to me after seeing that Jared and Gen were helping others while dealing with their own problems at their house.

Winter weather will be hitting Texas this weekend. You can expect lots of snow and ice. It is best to prepare for possible power outages and water being turned off. That is worst case scenario, but be prepared as Sunday will be a cold one.
You panicked. Growing up in North Texas you never had to deal with severe winter weather. You were used to dealing with tornados. But the way they were talking on the news, this weekend was going to be bad.
Thankfully you had the day off and were able to go to the store. You grabbed a case of water and food that you could prepare and food that didn’t have to be cooked to eat. You were still getting used to the adult life as an 18 year old, but since you had been taking care of yourself the last few years, you learned a thing or two in the kitchen. You made sure to grab some snacks as well since they didn’t have to be cooked or stored in the fridge either.
As you pulled up to your apartment building, you got a call from the lead and producer of the show you were on. You still weren’t sure how you managed to land the role of Stella in the new show Walker, but you were grateful. You put the car in park and grabbed your phone.
“Hey Jare.” You said. Jared was the older brother you always wanted, even though he plays your dad and he has moments where he acts like your dad. You didn’t have a great life growing up and to have a male figure in your life to help you in anyway, made you happy. Same thing with Gen.
“Hey Y/N/N. How’re you doing?” He asked.
“I’m doing good. Just got back from the store. Am I needed on set?” You asked in a panic thinking you missed something.
“No, no you’re not needed. Just wanted to call and tell you we are not filming Monday or Tuesday next week. And depending on the weather and roads, we may cancel Wednesday as well.” He informed you.
“Oh. Is it because of the storm?” You asked.
“Yeah. We aren’t sure how bad it’ll be, but we are hoping we are just being over cautious.” He said. “You said you went to the store?”
“Yeah. I just wanted to get something’s so I won’t have to get out. And I got some stuff. I won’t need to cook in case we lose power. Also filled up with gas in case I lose heat and need to warm up some.” You told him.
“Come stay with us. We have plenty of room and we have a fireplace. We just restocked our firewood supply. I don’t want to be worrying about you all weekend.” He said.
“I’ll be okay. Really. Thank you for the offer though.” You said nicely. You really did mean it. You were used to taking care of yourself that when people did want to help you, you appreciated them.
“Well. I have my truck if I need to come get you. If you change your mind, come over. The kids would love to see you.” He said. You heard Gen agree with him in the background. “And Gen would too.”
“Well after the storm, I’ll come over for dinner to see everyone. And I’ll even come another night to babysit so you and Gen can go on a date.” You said with a laugh once you heard Gen immediately laugh.
“Gen says you don’t have to, but I will take you up on both offers.” Jared told you. “Okay. Well stay in touch. They say it’ll start sometime tomorrow night.”
“Y’all stay safe and stay in touch too.” You said. “Bye Jare.”
“Bye Y/N/N.” He said before hanging up. You put your phone back into your pocket before lugging all of the groceries into your apartment. You put everything away before going to change out of your winter clothes.
After changing into some PJs to be comfortable. You decided to meal prep some so you wouldn’t have to worry about it later. And if the weather isn’t as bad as they think it’ll be, you can just eat them throughout the week.
Sunday morning, you woke up and looked outside. All you could see was white fluffiness. You smiled as the world looked at peace. You loved snow. You always thought it brought beauty to the world.
When you walked back to your phone where it laid on its charger, you saw a couple of texts from Jared and Gen. Both had sent you photos of Tom, Shep, and Odette playing the in the snow. Then you saw Jared’s text about possible rolling power outages.
You picked up the phone and called Jared and before he could even say hello, you asked, “What does that mean? Your text... I don’t understand it.”
“It means they’ll shut the power off for an hour to three hours to preserve energy.” Jared said.
“Oh.” You said.
“Yeah, so if the power goes out, don’t worry, it should come back on.” He reassured you.
“Okay. Thank you for letting me know.” You replied.
“Of course. How are you doing anyways?” He asked.
“Good. Just woke up. Felt good to sleep in. I’m probably about to start warming up my lunch.” You informed him. “How are y’all handling it over there? I saw the pics you and Gen sent. The kids look like they’re having a blast.”
“We’re doing good. The kids are definitely loving the snow. I did have to help Gen gather the chickens this morning which wasn’t fun.” He said with a laugh.
“Oh gosh. Yeah chasing chickens isn’t fun. Are they okay? I didn’t even think about y’all’s animals?”
“They’re all in the barn with heat lamps. Thankfully the barn is powered by solar so we don’t have to worry too much if the power goes out since we have a lot of energy stored up.” He said.
“Good that’s good. Well I’ll let you get back to doing whatever you were doing. Thanks again for letting me know.”
“Anytime. If you need something, holler. Okay?” He asked.
“I will. Bye.” You said. You heard his farewell as you went to hang up the phone. After preheating the oven, you took the lasagna and boxed garlic bread out of the freezer. You figured, while the power was still on, you could cook the one meal you prepped that couldn’t be eaten cold until you cooked it and it was leftovers.
An hour later, you sat at the counter charging your phone and iPad while you ate. When you went to take another bite, the power cut off.
“Great.” You whispered. You knew it was only going to be for a few hours, but you were a little aggravated by the inconvenience. You stood up and went and put on thicker sweatpants and your socks. When you made it back to your phone to text Jared that your power went out, you saw you barely had any service. That concerned you in case you needed to make a call for an emergency.
Power just went out. Hopefully y’all didn’t lose power. I’ll let you know when it’s back on. Sent 1:23 pm
You continued to eat as you awaited a response. Shrugging when you finished your meal and put the dirty dish in the sink, you moved to the living room to read a book you started the night before.
Hours later, you still had no power and you still hadn’t heard from Jared or Gen. You had checked social media, but neither had posted anything. You decided to scroll through Twitter and saw the horrors of people’s pipes bursting and roofs caving in flooding their homes.
Seeing people in Austin posting that, you decided to grab a tote to store your valuables in. Sadly, it wasn’t a lot, but the idea of losing what little you had that meant something to you scared you.
You needed to go to your car to charge your phone and warm up some, so you decided to store your valuables in the trunk. Thankfully you had a covered parking space that was right in front of your apartment. When you put the tote in the trunk, you checked to make sure the tail pipe was clear of snow before you started the car.
After spending an hour in the car, you decided it was time for bed. Grabbing every piece of blankets you had, you cuddled up in Jared’s hoody that you stole from him when you filmed episode 2 of Walker and all the blankets. You even had on two pairs of socks on since you got cold earlier.
The next morning, you checked to see your phone still had more than half its battery life left. But what shocked you was still no response from Jared. You got on Instagram and saw that Gen had posted a boomerang of him with his socks on as gloves, but neither had checked in with you.
You were kind of upset by this. You knew they didn’t owe you anything, but it still hurt. Going to the kitchen, you saw it was flooded.
“Oh no. Oh no. Nonononono.” You panicked. You ran to the bathroom and grabbed all the towels you owned and rushed back to the kitchen. You threw them down to try and absorb as much water as possible. You opened the cabinet and saw the pipe that had burst. You grabbed your phone and called the landlord.
“Hey Craig. I had a pipe burst this morning.” You said when he answered.
“Can’t do much with the weather like this.” He said not really caring.
“Can you turn the water off or something? Or tell me where it is and I’ll do it.” You said getting angry.
“Can’t do that either. If I do that, your neighbors lose their water too.” He said.
“Well what am I supposed to do. Just sit in water all day?” You asked with an annoyed tone.
“City’s running out of water anyway so they may shut it off. So won’t be long before it stops.” He said. You got so mad that you hung up. He was useless.
After 3 hours, all of your towels were soaked and you started using some of your clothes to help absorb what the towels couldn’t. You had tried calling Jared to see if he knew what to do but it went straight to voicemail. Same with Gen.
After using most of your clothes to stop the water, you decided to pack a bag in case you had to leave. Plus it would let you know what you could use to absorb the water that still remains. Thankfully your landlord had turned the water off after multiple people called about pipes bursting. All you had to do was finish cleaning up the mess.
Two days later, you were sitting in your car, about to go back into your apartment when you got a call from Gen.
“Y/N. Oh my gosh it’s so good to hear from you. We haven’t had service, plus we lost power and had a few pipes burst. Are you okay?” She asked worriedly.
“I’m okay. Sitting in my car right now so I could charge my phone and warm up a bit.” You told her.
“You don’t have power still?” She asked.
“Nope. And I also had a pipe burst. But I cleaned it up and nothing was damaged. Did you have any damage done? Is everyone okay?” You asked concerned.
“Yeah. We are fine. And just minimal floor damage.” She told you. “Jared is cleaning that mess up while I’m going to the store. Do you need anything? We have some of our neighbors over trying to stay warm and I’m grabbing them stuff too. So I don’t mind getting you anything.”
“I’m okay. I have plenty.” You said. You wanted heat. You wanted to sleep without having to wear five layers, but you refused to ask.
“Well if you do need something, text or call. Hopefully we get service back.” She said.
“I will. Thanks Gen.” you said as you hung up. Ten minutes later you got a call from Jared.
“Pack a bag and bring some blankets.” He said before you could even greet him.
“What?” You asked genuinely confused.
“I said, pack a bag and bring some blankets. Also if you want to bring any food you don’t want to go to waste or if you have water, bring that too. I’ll come in and help you carry.” He said.
“Wh-wait.. what is happening?” You asked.
“I’m coming to get you and you are going to stay with us for a couple of days. I just got off the phone with Gen and she said you had a pipe burst and you don’t have heat. So you are going to come stay with us until your power is back on and the pipe is fixed.” He said. “I’m pulling up. I’ll be inside in a second.” He hung up before you could say anything.
You went and unlocked the door before moving to your room. You grabbed your big suitcase and packed what few pair of pants you had, a weeks worth of underwear, two weeks worth of socks since you hated having cold feet, and the remaining three sweaters and seven shirts you had. It barely filled your suitcase so you decided to throw in a couple of hoodies as well.
“That all your packing?” Jared asked concerned. No one knew how long this was going to last.
“It’s all I got clean.” You answered honestly.
“No way.” He said in disbelief. You shrugged and told him to follow you as you walked into the kitchen. He saw the pile of clothes and towels on the ground. “Oh Y/N. I’m sorry this happened to you.”
“Happened to you too.” You said before moving back to your room. You grabbed a blanket and started to fold it, starting a pile you were taking with you to the Padalecki’s. Once you finished that, you grabbed your pillow too.
“Want any books or anything? You have room in your suitcase.” Jared said as he pointed to it. You shrugged and grabbed a few books you had been wanting to read. After throwing them into the suitcase, you ran to the living room to grab your iPad and chargers.
“We can charge them in the cars if we need to.” Jared said when you thought about not putting them in your bag. You nodded before throwing them in and zipping it up. “This ready to go to the truck?” You nodded once again before he grabbed the suitcase handle and stack of blankets and your pillow with ease. “Go figure out food and I’ll come back to help.”
Once in the kitchen, you grabbed the full water case you had bought a few days before and the almost empty one that you had already opened. You then moved to the fridge to grab the few casserole dishes you had left to eat. You grabbed your travel food carrier and put the casseroles in first before the almost empty case of water in after it. You saw Jared walking back in and asked,
“Is there any food of mine you want? I’ve got everything packed that will definitely go bad before I get back. The rest has already gone bad.” You said while looking at Jared who was looking through your cabinets. He found your snack one and grabbed a few things and shoved them in your carrier.
“That’s all I want.” He smirked. “Ready to go? We can come back in a couple of days if we need to.”
“Ready.” You walked to his truck and he helped you load the water and carrier. As you got into the passenger seat and started to buckle, you said, “thanks for coming to get me and letting me stay with you.”
“Anything for family.” He said smiling at you before driving carefully back to his house.
“But we aren’t family?” You said more as a question.
“You’re my tv daughter, so technically we are.” He said with a laugh. “But in all seriousness, I do see you as family. Me and you have gotten close over these past few months. I can see you as a daughter and I can see you as a little sister.” You could hear the sincerity in his voice.
“Really?” You asked. He nodded his head. “It means a lot to hear you say that. I see you as a big brother.”
“Good.” You saw him smile. “That means you can ask me for anything or do anything and I’ll be there for you. Sorry I didn’t come get you sooner. I thought about it.”
“It’s okay. I tried calling but could never get through. It happens. I’m just glad nothing more serious happened. I’m glad we are all safe.” You said honestly.
“And we are about to get you warm. We have the fire going in the living room and in mine and Gen’s room. Kids have been sleeping with us or on the floor in our room. You’re welcome to make a pallet in front of the fire and crash there.” He said as he pulled into his driveway.
“Sleeping in front of a warm fire sounds lovely right now. Thank you.” You leaned over and gave him a big hug. “I love you Jare.” You said before pulling back to kiss his cheek.
“Love you too y/n/n.” He smiled at you. “Now let’s go take all this in and get you warmed up.”

All through Rome
a.n. hiiii lovely people, this is my entry for willa @bopbopstyles and havens @harrysclementines bi!reader ficathon, my prompt was flipping through magazines with harry talking about cute girls, and i turned it into gucci shoot Italyrry so enjoyyy!! (and again this title doesn't really have anything to do w the actual fic but it was called gucci italy magazine in my google docs so this one is slightly better)
This is also sort of shorter i had major writers block of what direction i wanted to go w this fic but hope u like it regadless <3
Tumblr media
It had been a last minute decision for you to join harry on his latest gucci endeavour, he was shooting for Gucci in Rome and originally you were more than happy to stay home in London, but after half a bottle of wine each and Harry trying to convince you in other ways, you were more than happy to take the week off of work to go with him on his trip.
•··° • ·* · · ★ . ✦ * * .
It was late when the two of you arrived at the house where you’d be spending your week in Rome and Harry had suggested that you go walk around to find the nearest supermarket, both to get snacks for the house and for some late dinner, complaining that he was starving after only eating before you left for the airport.
After around 20 minutes of weaving through the small side streets near your house with Harry swinging your hands dramatically between the two of you he noticed a small 24 hour supermarket. Leading you towards the shop and grabbing a small basket on the way inside he headed straight for the alse in the middle of the shop where all of the junk food was.
These were the moments you cherished most with Harry, when he wasn't under any obligation to be Harry Styles, he was just Harry who was squinting under the fluorescent lights of the supermarket trying to decide between salt and vinegar or plain crisps. There had been men and women for both of you before you found eachother but you couldn't help but appreciate what the two of you had built when you thought about past relationships. They weren’t bad per se but  compared to what you had with Harry they were nowhere near comparable to the pure love and admiration you had for each other.
‘Earth to (y/n)’ Harry said waving his free hand in front of your face ‘Chocolate or haribo?’  ‘Both?’ you answered, picking up two bags of Haribo and putting them into his basket ‘God, I love you.’ he chuckled. Taking your hand again and making his way to the front of the shop where the till was, but not before you saw him ‘sneakily’ putting two bottles of wine in the basket when he thought you were distracted by the different italian sweets.
•··° • ·* · · ★ . ✦ * * .
You had been sitting on the outskirts all day, deciding to take a step back and let Harry work. You’d spent your day in the tent off to the side with Harry Lambert, Harry’s stylist, as soon as you two had arrived on the set he'd whisked Harry away and later found you hanging around the refreshments tent commenting that this was exactly where Harry said you’d be.
As you were observing both Harry and the small group of other models that were also working on the campaign, particularly noticing how pretty some of the models that were wearing the dresses were. You knew it was harmless infatuation, both you and Harry were secure enough in your relationship where it didn't bother you at all if the other pointed out people who they thought were attractive. But that didn't stop Lambert who had joined you in the refreshments tent out of the fuss of the shoot from noticing and teasing you for the rest of the day about it.
•··° • ·* · · ★ . ✦ * * .
Harry's final pictures had been sent back to him on the last day of your work trip turned Italy vacation. The two of you were fresh from the shower, with Harry using his favorite excuse of ‘saving water’ to convince you to let him join you, after spending the day wandering around Rome and all of the small boutiques near the house Harry had rented for the trip. You were both lying on the bed him laying flat against the headboard and you’d plopped yourself half on top of his chest half on the bed as you reached for the iPad to look through the pictures Harry had been emailed.
‘Like this one best I think’ You pointed to the photo where Harry was facing sideways and the model was posing in front of one of the trees at the shoot in one of the gorgeous dresses.
‘M’ face is barely in that one’ He faked offence pushing your shoulder lightly away from where it was resting against his side.
‘Yeah, that's sorta the point’ You moved back to your previous position, which was basically lying on top of him but neither or you were complaining, this was actually one of Harrys favourite ways to cuddle together, feeling very content when he couldn’t really feel his left arm because it had been wrapped around you while you cuddled or took a nap together.
‘Y’ just think she's fit, could tell when we were at the shoot’
‘Think you're fit too’
‘HA!, didn't deny it, knew it Lambert told me you were ogling’
‘Wasn't ‘ogling’ you laugh and put the word in air quotes while sitting up to face him to defend yourself. It was quiet for a few moments while you were flicking through a couple of the remaining photos on the iPad.
‘What about him?’ You questioned as you pointed to the new photo on the screen of one of the other models who was wearing of one of the eccentric Gucci suits.
‘What about him?’ Harry was faking an innocence now, he knew what you were trying to ask but obviously got great amusement of making you say it aloud.
‘Opinions, yes no maybe?’
‘Yeah, he’s fit, nice eyes, like his cheek bones’
‘Alright y’ made your point’
‘Oooh so she can give it and can't take it’ He laughed, poking your cheek a little, knowing it annoyed you.
You started to flick through again, when you came to the end of the pictures, placing the iPad down on the bed and turning in your position on the bed so you're lying face to face.
‘Think you're the fittest out of all of them.’
‘Glad to hear it love,’ as he rolls over so you're underneath him ‘think you're the most gorgeous’ kiss ‘pretty’ kiss ‘breathtaking’ kiss. You’re reduced to a fit of laughter underneath him both from his compliments and the tickling of his moustache against your neck.
‘Love you the most.’ You tell him bringing his face out of your neck with both your palms pressed to his cheeks and kissing the tip of his nose, making him the one giggling now. ‘Love you too baby, now ‘ave got one last day don’t want to waste it in bed do y’’ he said as he hauled himself up and towards the closet across the room and threw some jean shorts and one of his t-shirts at you ‘want some of that pizza we had the other night.’

Dear letter... To you... (KTH)
Summary : There was no connection between these two strangers accept a letter in one’s hand.
Story inspo : a story from a wedding
Tumblr media
Author POV.
*click*
The camera captured the scene of an empty alley. It was just another ordinary day for everyone to wake up and start their routines. In this little town, almost everyone knew each other-despite a few unfamiliar faces who might appear around the street.
Kim Taehyung was one of them, a wanderlust soul. He found this little town not long ago on a travel site. Visiting this beautiful and classic area for a week, he could tell that he fell in love, even if; there was nothing much to attract a large group of tourists.
*click*
Taehyung snapped another shot. This place was nothing but calming for him. He took a turn at a random corner and met with a local restaurant. Taehyung opened the wooden door. The bell shimmed as a signal of a new customer.
“Good day sir, what would you like to order?” Taehyung looked above the waiter for a menu.
“Any tradition dishes?” Taehyung asked. Every dish seemed to look the same since there were no note up on the board.
After having description from the waiter, he decided his dish. A waitress, who finished preparing a table, gestured Taehyung to take a seat.
“What would you like for today?”
The door opened and closed from time to time. Taehyung was still in the restaurant and enjoyed his meal. He looked through a photo album. He was so busy with his camera without noticing that someone approached him.
“Sir, can this lady have a seat here? The restaurant has no seats available at the moment.” The waitress interrupted him. Taehyung didn’t look up, but nodded as an answer.
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Taehyung POV.
I felt like I was acting rude. However, I didn’t know how to start a conversation with the stranger either. I sat in silence and continued to play with my camera-taking the picture of the lake outside the window.
A glance at the person, but I only met a journal book. The person behind the book was so focused on the paper. Drawing or writing? I looked at the actions and kept those questions in my head.
I then put my attention back into my camera. I snapped a few shots and checked them. I did it again and again like a loop, not caring for the stranger who sat opposite me.
And both of us continued sitting there in silence.
“Have a good day miss.”
I looked up and met with an empty seat. The loud bell sound then appeared out of nowhere. I assumed that might come from a clock tower nearby. I checked my watch and gasped.
“I’ve been here for hour and a half already?” I started packing my camera and some postcards that I didn’t finish writing.
The moment I stood up and stepped toward the door, one of the waiters stopped me. He handed me a piece of brown ripped paper and a postcard.
“These aren’t mine.”
“It was on your table, sir.” I didn’t care about it that much and put both into my pocket.
‘What a tiring day.’ I thought to myself. I strolled down the eat part of the town today. The beach was nice. I could feel the breeze wash over me and left a fresh sea salt scent.
“What could it be?” I picked up the thing I got in the morning. Inspecting the handwriting, it must belong to that stranger. She surely had a neat yet unique handwriting. I assumed these were a part of her journal.
There were a few translucent color dots on a paper. She spilled something? She painted? I flipped the paper and searched for any clue to find her. Fortunately, there was something.
“Interesting.”

Author POV.
2 years later
“Any meeting?” Taehyung asked his secretary to check his schedule. He had been busy for awhile after his father stepped down from the position.
“Sir, you have a meeting around…” His secretary reviewed his schedule.
“For the project, we have an appointment with the artist in the evening.”
The secretary closed her iPad and left him in the elevator. Taehyung went up to another floor before he left. He then stepped into his office.
  “Sir, the artist arrived.”
After he ended the call, he stepped into a metal box. The door closed and the digital screen ran a set of numbers as he went down.
“Here is the copy of their plan.” Taehyung received the file and scrolled through the plan. Checking the details, he decided to wait for their presentation.
Everyone stood up and bowed to him as a greeting when the glass door slid open. He took a seat and the others followed.
“Shall we start?”  When he asked, a woman stood up from her seat. She walked toward the screen that had already prepared the presentation.
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Y/N POV.
‘Here we go.’ I thought to myself and the glass door slid open.
The CEO stepped inside the room. His every step echoed in the room-making my heartbeat went faster. When we all took our seats, I then noticed his feature. He looked young, probably around my age. His posture was calm yet intimidate.
“Shall we start?” Ok, y/n, you got this. I stood up with confident. I tried my best to look calm. If anyone could read my thought, they would know how nervous I was.
I started by explaining my inspiration a little bit before moving on to the concept and its details. It was nerve-wracking since the guy stared at me throughout my presentation. I felt him monitoring my moves, and that made me anxious.
“Is there any question?” Now, time to face the real anxiety.
I was right. He then started asking millions of questions about my idea.
The scribbling sound was loud and clear. I was now sitting in the CEO’s cabinet. He noted down the details while I explained. He dismissed everyone from the meeting half an hour ago since their working hour was end.
“Have we ever met before?” He asked a random question out of the blue.
“I..I don’t think so.” Why did I stutter?
I saw him smiled a little. Did I say something wrong? He knew me before? I was sure that I didn’t meet him before. My forgetful self started recalling his face.
“My secretary will contact you for our next appointment.” I nodded and stood up-ready to leave.
“Oh, can you leave your personal contact?  In case, we have to call you for the urgent work.” I then left him my personal contact and left the place.
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Author POV.
With the contact you left a week ago, Taehyung always messaged you. Even if it was about work, you were a little puzzled. Is it common for that huge interior company to let the boss directly contact any worker (even though you weren’t his employee directly)?
The clock was ticking. The sky gradually changed its shade. Everyone continued working on the job as usual. Taehyung was so busy surfing through the site and gallery of the artist. Lucky that he had his own office because if someone found him smiling like an idiot in front of the screen right now, they would think he was weird.
“I’ll see you soon.” He spoke to himself while looking through your work.
After Taehyung met you, to say Taehyung was head over heal into you wasn’t an exaggerated liar. He was even more obsessed with you when he saw your handwriting. He got his answer that you were ‘that’ stranger.
“Why are we here today? I thought we are going to work on the project.” You and Taehyung got closer after a week of him messaging to you unstop about work (A/N: *Ahem* work you say?)
“Well, this is also work, is it not?” His boxy smiled plaster his face.
“At the art exhibition?”
“Yeah, because I want learn about them. It can help me better understanding what you are doing and fuse them into my collection as well.”
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Taehyung POV.
‘Is that excuse work?’ I looked at her face. She seemed to not catch my real intention. I still put on my signature innocent smile-using it to persuade her.
“We better to be hurry then. Today we also needed to buy my equipment.” I succeeded. She entered the place without asking any further.
I snapped many shots when we were inside. She was so passionate about the exhibition. I usually preferred a peaceful atmosphere while walking in the exhibition hall. However, the way she kept talking about each piece of art, I didn’t find it annoying or boring.
“You seemed to be into this piece. Do you want it to be the main pantone of your collection?” I got out of my head and nodded. She then chuckled lightly.
‘Ah, I embarrassed myself, didn’t I?’
“Ok, we should leave then.”
We were here for a few hours now. She was lost in her world. When she picked the colors, she wouldn’t forget to ask for my comment. If I approved, she would be happy. Her eyes glowed thousands of lights. I couldn’t help but stare. She was indeed passionate about our work.
‘Our?’ When I realized that I used that word, I somehow felt a tingle feeling inside.
“We can get out of here soon. Do you think this is enough?” I snapped back to reality. I then met a cart full of art tools.
“I think these will do.” I emphasized the word these to remind her that it was enough.
“Sorry, I picked them for personal purpose as well. Hope you won’t mind.” I gave her a disbelief look while she grinned.
“If you mind, you can cut it from my salary.” She pouted and wheeled the cart.
‘Cute’
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Author POV.
Little by little, you fell for Taehyung. It was a feeling that gradually develop without your notice. By the time you realized it, you had already established your status with him.
“And again, you bring me to somewhere out of our schedule.”
“And you like it as always.” You rolled your eyes and entered the restaurant.
Entering a familiar elegant restaurant, a waitress led you both toward the VIP table. Guess who booked that?
The waiter then approached your table and left the menu on the table. He stood there and waited patiently for your order. You finished ordering your meal in the blink of an eye since you only had one fav dish. However, for Taehyung, it took ages to order.
“Why is it so quiet today?” You asked. You glanced around the floor and saw no one other than your table.
“Oh, I booked the whole floor today.” Taehyung answered it as if it was a normal thing to do.
“You did what?” You looked at the guy with a shocked face. He noticed your expression and chuckled.
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Y/N POV.
This was unbelievable. Why on earth did he need to book the whole floor? I had no idea of what was on his mind. Being close with Taehyung, I learned one thing. That one thing was sometimes you needed no rational thought to do something.
The quiet atmosphere then got replaced when a musician started playing some tunes. The soft melody filled the air.
‘He is up to something?’
I monitored his expressions and actions, but I didn’t get the answer. I couldn’t keep the curiosity any longer. I opened my mouth to fire out the question.
“Please, enjoy the meal.”
‘Lucky you, Tae.’ A waitress interrupted me before I could ask. Both of us started eating our meal.
I felt the meal was more delicious. Is it because of the atmosphere?
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Taehyung POV.
‘Phew she didn’t ask anything yet.’ I thought to myself while eating the meal. Thanks to that waitress, she didn’t get her chance. I didn’t want her to know my surprise just yet.
Curious right?
Today, I booked our favorite restaurant to discuss on the work like always. It looked ordinary until here. Now, the surprise plan will start.
I signaled a waiter who stood beside. He knew that it was the time for the special menu. Waiting for a bit, a box finally landed on the middle of the table.
“Open it.” I ordered her. She gave me a suspiscious look before carefully opened it.
*gasp*
“And that is your answer.” I spoke. I knew what she was about to ask before our meal arrived.
— ˗ˋ ୨୧ ˊ˗ —
Author POV.
“That was such a lovely story. I could see ladies in the venue look jelous at you both.”
Wedding day
The MC spoke. Taehyung give his signature smile. He isn’t shy about it. You can tell that he is bragging your story to the audience.
“And I told her about the letter. I still remembered how she was surprise and then her face flush. It was really cute.” The audience awe at him.
“Ok, we will now moving on to the surprise of tonight.” Taehyung glance at the MC. He remembers that the next thing is throwing the bouquet.
“You didn’t expect it, did you? Since you gave me such a surprise that day, I am going to give you one today.”
You look at your husband who look so lost. You chuckle at his expression before 2 staff step on stage with a gift. They then hand it to him and you wait for his reaction.
“Oh my god.” He looks shock when he tears off a wrapper. It was a sketch of him from the day you met him.
“So is this why you didn’t have any conversation with me or even look at me?” He smirks and teases you.
“There are more.”
The MC now hand him a box which is much smaller than the first gift. He  shakes a few time after recieves them. When he know that isn’t going to help him to guess, he open the bow.
He gasp so do the aucience. His eyes filled up with tears. His hands are shaking. The MC take the little gift out of his hand and show it to the audience. The audience go wild. The cheering and whistling sound echo in the venue. You then grab the mic and speak.
“Congratulation my dear, you are going to be papa.”
Author note : This story was inspired by the story from a wedding of my friend’s cousin. Her cousin met his bride because he found her note. Their story then began. My friend told me the groom’s comment about the bride. “I thought the handwriting was beautiful. When I finally found the owner, she was more beautiful.” It sounded cheesy, but that was their story. I hope you enjoy this one. See you in the next os.

I had a long list of things to write about today, but I left the ipad long enough to pour my hot cocoa and it all got lost. (If the stupid device naps for even a second, everything I wrote on Tumblr gets erased if I forget to save first).
So, in short, leaving out a ton of stuff…
The morning began with a mouse on the stove, staring at me.*
Continued with a big red bag of christian propaganda, promoted by the approximately 12,000 local churches ** , fastened to the front door so I had to tear it lose to get in.
Followed by finding among some more than 100 year old photos a photo of a dead baby. ***
And  ending with a young cat ****getting so so enthusiastically playful that he accidentally slashed my wrist. Very bloody.
* I forgot to buy poison. Or rather my reluctance to kill anyone not directly hurting me got in the way. Considering the food is stashed in containers and the fridge, and I’d even washed the stove, I have to wonder what it is eating. I’d rather it eat my food than books or clothes or whatever.
**Ok, about 16, but the town has less than 500 people. The pieces of candy in the bag didn’t stop me from being annoyed by the rudeness of this. I’ve lived in this damn town my entire life, and fuck if I am suddenly rewire my brain to join a religion. Fine christians, be pushy like you are magically gonna convert me. I get the religious  will NEVER respect my right to not believe. But sealing the front door? Come on! Suppose I had been in a hurry and didn’t want to waste extra time tearing through? It seems counter productive to piss off the target of you religious brainwashing efforts!
***Yeah, there were a lot of interesting things, but a formal portrait of a dead baby seemed more unusual than an 1881 letter full of peculiar spelling (consistently using thyme for time and so forth) or a box of antique clocks Pop took apart as a boy or the strange laboratory equipment  or veiled mourning hat or.…. Just my mood today I guess.
**** He’s an odd one. He’d never even let me touch him until a week or so ago, and now he can’t get enough petting and comes into the house with me. Weirdly, he continues to be afraid of me during the day, but at night he literally comes running when he hears me go out to bake sculpey. His instinct is to grab with his claws and teeth, but he is quickly learning not to hurt me, trying to pull me to him without sticking out the claws and so forth. Unfortunately tonight he got so excited he forgot to be careful for a second.

Tohoku Region: Sendai Castle & Yamagata
I woke up around 6am since I was unable to use my JR pass until after 10am (the ticket collection office only opened at 10am), so I needed to find alternative activities to cross off until then! I walked up a very steep hill to the Sendai Castle Ruins which was mostly just a few statues and a great view over the city. It seemed to be a popular jogging route as there were many people out early to get their exercise in but it was still very peaceful and quiet at the top. I went back for a shower and a sit down before preparing my day bag and then going for my first coffee in Sendai at Sendai Coffee Stand (maybe now it is also called Burger Lover). Annoyingly the first train to Yamagata was at 10.08 but I didn't think I'd have time to get the pass and get on the train within 8 minutes so I opted to sit in and enjoy my coffee and wait for the 11.18 train instead. The owner, Shinsuke, proudly made a latte and introduced himself. I gave him a stamp card I had in my wallet for Niseko Mountain Kiosk. He had a wall covered in stickers and business cards from cafes all over the world and he placed the one I'd given him up there too, and gave me one of his business cards in return. I walked to Sendai Station and collected my 5 day JR Tohoku Pass and hopped on the Senzan Line to Yamagata with some more reading material. My plan for the day was set, Yamadera (the mountain top temple) and then a nice looking trek around Omoshiroyama Kogen Gorge and then we'll see what time it is! Unfortunately while the shinkansen trains are frequent enough, all of these local lines only run about once an hour and some destinations I want to visit also require a bus to get to them so actually it will take more careful planning and very early mornings in order to get the main sights checked!
After riding through the noisiest tunnel with the tracks screeching, we emerged within the mountains and actually the train almost made it to Yamadera on schedule but I still needed to race to make up the time. I went as fast as I could and puffed myself up the 1000 steps to the temple. The first 400 felt like nothing but then it was tiring and by 700 it was really tough. I managed to reach the temple in only about 10 or 15 minutes and take some photos before racing back down to make the train back at 13.16. I rode one stop back and then was on track to do the 90 minute trek around the gorge. Once I arrived at the station I followed a sign and a track that promised a waterfall. It was a short walk of about 10 minutes, I sat on a rock by the water and ate my pizza bun for lunch then walked back up, unable to see another track this way without crossing the river. I stepped my full shoe into a mud puddle so then had to plunge it into the river to clean it, and completely soak it in the process. I followed some signs towards pictures of waterfalls that didn't really make sense which wasted my time to where I only had an hour left before the train would come. I found a track and followed it, although I could see that I probably wouldn't get very far as I would have to turn around after about 30 minutes. I gave it about 20 minutes and quickly realised that I wouldn't see too much from way up here, so I headed back down and climbed up an abandoned ski lift tower that was conveniently on this track too! The train station vending machine was completely out of all decent drinks including water so I had to settle for a Coke Zero - at least it has 0 calories... The slow screechy train took me back to Sendai with some annoying teenagers opposite me taking photos out the windows the entire journey on their iPads. I booked myself a seat on the earliest bullet train to Aomori tomorrow and then had a bit of a wander around Sendai, buying a few things at Uniqlo and a bag of pick and mix cookies from Aunt Stella that smelled so good I couldn't resist! I walked back through the arcades to my capsule hotel stopping only for a Family Mart spicy fried chicken (Fami Chiki) and a tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream as dinner and dessert. The next two hours were spent planning my day in great detail down to the minute with all train transfers sorted out, as that had been my downfall today.

Wipe that smirk prick chap 2
I hope you like this new chapter!
Read it on AO3-https://archiveofourown.org/works/30182112/chapters/74987262
I stared at Morrigan, who looked as if she was about to explode with excitement when she saw me. She squealed, and the librarian shushed at her, but she could care less. She ran towards me and squeezed me into a tight hug. I hugged her back, my head swimming with thoughts. I knew Mor from art class, and we talked a lot during class, but we never talked outside the classroom. It was comforting though, to have someone I knew. Especially when the other people helping were all boys. The two boys in there had the same tan skin as Rhysand, with shit-eating grins on their faces. One was big and burly, with dark, chin-length hair, half up, half in a man bun. He looked ruggedly handsome, while the other was quieter and elegantly handsome with short black hair, leaner than the other boy.
"We've heard a lot about you, Feyre."
"How do you know my name?"
The chin-length-haired boy laughed, and the librarian shushed us again, warning us she would kick us out if we were too loud. I turned back to him, expecting an answer. He seemed to see my annoyance and only grinned wider."Well of course-" He cut off randomly, and I looked around to see Rhysand glaring at him as if..."Morrigan, yes Mor told us all about you." I looked at Mor, who was smiling, but I also saw something else in her eyes... stop being a detective Feyre, it does not matter. "Well my cousin is known for her talking marathons, and you just came up in conversation, that's all." He smirked, and Mor stuck her tongue at him. I smiled a bit at that. Cousins, wow they looked nothing alike. He pointed over to the burly boy "That brute over there is Cassian, and the other one is Azriel. were basically brothers, though not by blood." I nodded toward them in greeting. They seemed nice, like someone I could trust. Like Rhysand.
"Come on let's get this Ipad business over with, I have stuff to do." Cassian snorted at that, making a comment that all she had to do at home was paint her nails for the tenth time. She didn't get embarrassed, just laughed a musical laugh and kept on walking toward the tables full of Ipads. There was a paper that listed the instructions.
1. Each person is to pick 2 bins (6 Ipads in a bin) to complete during the two hours. You are to do 2 every week so we can finish the whole school, with a total of 40 classrooms.
2. Wipe data from each Ipad including...
Photos
Google Apps
Safari
Microsoft Apps
Browsing Data
3. Put Ipad back in the bin, and repeat with other Ipads
I looked at the tables filled with Ipad bins. I sighed, this was going to be the longest two hours of my life. But for some reason I was excited. "Ready Feyre Darling?" he purred. The way he said my name made my toes curl and pink my cheeks. I scowled at the floor, my hair hiding my face. I could see him through my "shield" and something flickered in his eyes. What was it? It was replaced with the usual amusement like I never saw it. "Let's do this prick." He laughed and followed me, coincidentally picking the bin right in front of me. Great.
Talking with Rhysand was probably the most fun thing I did in months. Of course, I still thought he was a prick, but a funny prick. We talked about our interests, hobbies, stuff like that. We talked about how long we stayed in Velaris and went to Velaris High School. He had stayed here his whole life, while I had just moved from Springfield, a town, and wanted to go to the artists quarter in Velaris, but it was too far away. He talked about astronomy, and while he talked I swore I could see the stars in his eyes, twinkling and glowing. I smiled at that. I still thought he was annoying, but maybe a bit less. I loved Cassian Mor and Az as well. They were all great people and caring, and hilarious to watch. Especially when Cassian and Mor fought for a whole 5 minutes on who was doing Mr. Tarquins class Ipads since there was a rumour that he and another student were dating, they were hoping to see if the emails were there to check. Mor eventually got it and found out that one whole Ipad had been data wiped. We all laughed when we saw it, knowing why it was cleaned.
"Feyre? Could you help me?"
I looked around to find Mor looking at me, a pleading look in her eyes, Mor was probably the most tech-literate out of all of us. Nonetheless, I walked up to her table and asked what she needed help with."I need help with finding out what Rhys is telling you to make it seem as if he gave you all the stars in the sky." she smiled devilishly at me while a stared at her wide-eyed and scowled. "I'm not telling him anything Mor, stop giving me that look we are just friends. Nothing less nothing more" I said in a firm voice. She frowned the tiniest bit at that, but perked up the next second and said, "Say what you want Feyre but I know you like Rhys, and I'm betting your gonna be a couple soon." she winked and walked off, leaving me gaping at her, eyes wide with shock. Did I like Rhys? He's annoying and cocky and a prick, but he's also kind and sweet and understanding and possibly handsome...Oh god, Feyre you really do have a crush on him. I went back to finish my box, not uttering a single word, and when I moved on to the next one, I made sure it was the farthest box away from Rhys.
I worked on my second bin beside Az and Cassian, and it was the worst best mistake I made. Cassian teased me endlessly while Az smiled or chuckled, commenting sometimes. I scowled and blushed a deep crimson, "I hate you guys'' I muttered under my breath, and they only laughed harder, the librarian looking at us with murderous eyes. I moved unto the next Ipad in the bin and when I went to delete any photos, I stared wide-eyed at what was in the camera roll. Cassian and Az were trying to get a look at what it was, but I backed away. nononononononono. I was about to delete it when my back collided with someone, someone with a scent of jasmine, the sea and citrus. Fuck. Rhysand. He looked down at the photo and stared wide-eyed at me. The photo of me and Tamlin. I didn't know who took it but it was from when we first started dating, before... No, I couldn't think about that, or else I would break apart right here in front of everyone. I just handed the Ipad to Rhys, whispered "delete it" and ran out of the library. I ran outside, ran and ran, as if my thoughts would leave me, the memories, everything.

The Good and The Bad, 01.23.21 - 01.29.21
None of this shit is amazing or especially significant.
:(
My fancy Sony SD card for some reason doesn’t work with the little USB-C hub I have for my iPad. I’m thinking it’s more an issue with the hub than the card because my laptop reads the card fine so maybe I just need to bite the bullet and get a new one. Then again, the reader works with every other card I have so who knows.
I’m realizing that part of the reason I stopped doing these is that not enough tends to happen during the course of a week. I mean, a lot happens, but I guess not a lot to me personally.
The weather has been fine but it looks like we may get a bunch of snow. Snow is pretty, but it’s annoying as hell when you actually have to go anywhere or do anything.
I’m gonna try to use my iPad for photo editing for a week to see how that goes. I can already see a few issues in terms of organizing the photos. I use color labels in Lightroom Classic to know what I’ve shared and there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that in Lightroom on the iPad, for instance. I think I’ll probably end up coming to the same conclusion I already have: the iPad is fun to use but Adobe’s mobile software leaves a lot to be desired in terms of organizational features. At least for somebody like me who takes a shit ton of photos.
The Sixers beat the Lakers but the same people who were saying they haven’t beaten any good teams seem to have just made a bunch of excuses now that they took out the “best” team. Sixers are gonna win the whole thing you heard it here first.
!
I saw a deal on a Kindle for $60 so ended up getting one of those. On one hand, it’s a neat little device especially for that price and even if it’s just a tablet I can let my girlfriend use instead of her grabbing my iPad it’s worth it. On the other hand, it makes me miss having an iPad Mini and also feel bad for people who have never used an iPad.
I started watching Juju Kaiden after hearing a lot about how great it is. Gotta say, it’s pretty good so far.
I found out about a Peruvian BBQ place called Brazas BBQ Chicken and holy shit is it good. We got empanadas and chicken andn tostones and a bunch of other tasty food. I seriously can’t believe how good it all was.
I cooked for the first time in several months. Nothing too fancy; just some steak and couscous. It came out really well though and was a nice change up from all the take out (although washing dishes afterwards reminded me why I rarely cook).
While the software might not always be up to the task, the iPad hardware is fantastic and I’m actually using it right now to type this. It does make me wonder why they’ve never just put a touch screen in a Mac though.

CHAPTER 3 | CHAPTER 5
MASTERLIST
A/N: Sorry this one took a little while to post, this last week was hard for me, but I’ll get into a schedule soon and have a chapter once a week or every other week depending on my busy schedule.
Tumblr media
RHEA
Jongho held out his hand to me as I stepped out of the back seat of the sleek black Mercedes car that we arrived in. He took the cream suit jacket from my arm that matched the pantsuit Hongjoong had gifted me and draped the garment over my shoulders and bandages. The jacket draped over a sleeveless navy blouse that matched a set of navy pumps that were included in the gift. The note Hongjoong had written said that it was intentional for her to show off the wound to win brownie points with the police, but wanted me to feel comfortable by giving me the suit jacket to hide it if I wanted.
I was left annoyed by the stupid argument we had yesterday, but I was wondering how the pantsuit fit perfectly as if it had been tailored to fit me. Was it the maid who gave him her measurements? They did bring all of my things over from the gallery. Bingo, that’s what it was, I thought as I hooked my free arm with Jongho to help me up the stairs into the precinct and through the open doors.
Jongho took charge addressing the man at the reception desk, giving a nod in my direction and explaining who I was and who we needed to meet with. “Will she need a translator?” The officer asked.
“That won’t be necessary.” I interjected in Korean, “Anything I don’t understand Mr. Choi can explain to me.” The officer seemed a little shocked by my Korean, but quickly picked up the phone and called for someone. “Follow me.” We were led to a conference room near the back of the building.
Two men, one blonde and one with red hair, were already in the room in more casual clothes than the uniform of the officer who had helped us which made me wonder what rank they held in the force. Jongho placed a soft hand on my back to guide me in. “Miss Bradford?” Asked the blonde, standing up from his seat to shake my hand with his right, I met his eyes and held out my free left hand to him. “Yes, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
He sheepishly took my left hand with his. “I’m Detective Lee Felix and this is my partner Detective Lee Minho.” He nodded to the man with red hair who stood up and shook my hand. When our eyes met I froze a little, feeling like we had met before and a part of me recognized him, but I couldn’t place where I had seen him. “It’s nice to meet you. So sorry for the delay, my recovery has been anything but stellar.”
“That’s unfortunate. We heard that one of the best doctors in the city is taking care of you,” Detective Minho said, holding the seat out for me.
“It’s not the treatment per say, but the doctor’s temperament, but on a positive note I am getting stronger each day.” I slid into the seat, Detective Felix introduced himself to Jongho and I could hear a bit of an accent in his speech. “Pardon, Detective Felix are you Australian?” I asked in English, playing the curiosity of a foreigner meeting another possible foreigner.
“Yes, what gave it away?” He laughed, his smile warm like the sun, his reply in English, “Would you be more comfortable speaking in English?” He asked assuming that I would need someone to translate for me even when I had spoken Korean to introduce myself. “No, like I told the officer at the front, I am capable of understanding Korean to a degree, but I would rather have my lawyer be comfortable with the conversation considering the circumstances.”
“Yes, Let’s get started, shall we?” The detectives and Jongho took their seats at the table and they quickly flipped through a folder in front of them. They quickly read over my facts, telling me that all my paperwork was square and up to date and all my business paperwork was impeccable. While he read all this off, my mind was going through the files to figure out where I had seen Detective Minho.
His name didn’t appear in my gallery manifest, at least not that I could recall, but I know I had seen him briefly before. The look of his face would be hard to miss in a small crowd, but easy to pick out in a large crowd, I had to admit that he was handsome, but my brain couldn’t place a Korean man with red hair. I was then sure that my train of thought was broken as Detective Felix addressed me. “Looks like you’ve been in Korea for about 14 months, is that correct?”
“Yes.”
“Tell me what do you do in your spare time? Any friends or enemies that you’ve made?”
I looked at Jongho and he gave a small nod. “Well, I came here to start a business selling modern art as well as my own, so the only friends that I have are clients and Mr. Choi here. I don’t have time to go out and make friends when I spend all day at my gallery and all night in my studio. As for enemies, that would really only be my competitors, but I don’t think the art world would be this extreme. If so, this is a first for me”
The detective shared a glance before Detective Minho’s eyes narrowed on me, “Clients as friends, doesn’t sound like you are not too trusting of people.”
That’s true, but I had to lie through my teeth. “That isn’t the case. I’m a foreigner who started a business and needed to stay on top of my job or I don’t get paid.” I swallowed hard, pausing for dramatic affect. “Now after getting shot and waking up and finding my building had been set on fire, I’m seriously worried how I’m going to be able to start up my business again.” Hongjoong would be pleased to hear that tears were stinging the edge of my eyes, but this was no act, I was seriously angry and how my life had turned out again when I was just trying to start fresh. Detective Felix pushed a box of tissues toward me seeing the tears in my eyes. “I’m glad I have such a good lawyer to be able to handle my affairs while I was unconscious or would have lost everything I own.” I dabbed at the tears at the edge of my eyes to avoid smearing my makeup.
“What about your clients? You don’t deal with black market wares do you?” Detective Minho asked, and I was so startled by the question it left me baulking at his question.
“What kind of question is that? No, I would never do deals with anyone of the kind. How dare you ask me something like that.” I turned in my chair a little toward Jongho in the act of needing him to back me up in the conversation.
“Please Detectives, my client is clearly distraught with the trauma of the attack and then learning the state of her home that she worked for and now you are here accusing her of being a criminal. Please keep you questions to the night in question, Ms. Bradford has done nothing to earn such suspicion. If these questions persist, we will be walking out.” Jongho’s hand that rested on my back gave a small tap to encourage me to sit up and face them again.
“We are so sorry Ms. Bradford, we are just trying to narrow down any other suspects and why this man would attack you for money, please tell us the night in your own words.”
I recounted the story that Hongjoong and the boys had told me and rehearsed with me, sticking to the main events and leaving out any details. Of course it wasn’t the real story, because Hongjoong was “never there” and this man wanted protection money from a small business like mine. Then I mentioned that Jongho had been my lawyer on retainer recently and I made him my emergency contact for legal purposes and he was able to take care of my property while I was unconscious.
“Last we would like you to identify your attacker.” They laid an ipad in front of me and had me flip through photos of several different men. When I got to the fifth photo I paused. It was him for sure. I recognized his features even in the dim light. We had been so close together and there was the moment the gun had gone off and I saw the one feature I was sure about.
“This one, the one with the mole under his eye.”
“Are you sure?’
“Positive, I’m an artist. Details are kinda my thing.” They made quick notes about my comment.
“Is there anything that you could tell me about my attacker?”
“Unfortunately he refused to speak to anyone but this lawyer, but I’ll stay in contact with Mr. Choi and have him relay any information to you. Is that acceptable?” I nodded and the Detectives stood. I followed suit as they led us out of the room and I took hold of Jongho’s arm to keep the act up and headed to the front of the building. Jongho finished with the last of the paperwork and led me out to the luxury, but just before I got into the cab, I took one last look at the Detective Minho to see if I could remember where I had seen him, but Jongho broke my train of thought and I slid into the seat.
When we were on the road back to Hongjoong’s building it was mostly silent until Jongho said, “That was perfectly done.” I turned to him, “They seemed convinced by your performance and we now have a direct link if we hear anything about the man who attacked Hongjoong and you. We might be able to find out more information.” I still felt a little uneasy about the story itself, but this will give the team time to solidify the story and then my end of the deal would be fulfilled.
“Jongho?”
“Hm?” He looked at her with his straight face.
“Could we stop by the gallery? I just want to see it with my own eyes?” Jongho’s eyebrows raised like I just asked for the impossible, but he sighed, checked his watch and then looked up at the driver with a nod. “Thank you.” I whispered and watched as the driver changed lanes and made a few different turns to head to where my building was.
Standing outside of the black charred building, I held back the real tears that wanted to fall from my eyes, remembering all the hard work it had taken to get here after I ran away. All the favors I had used to get away from my past, all the late sleepless nights to establish a small business in a country where I didn’t speak more than simple greetings. “There’s really nothing left huh?” A big tarp covered where the window had been and the door I had painted a bright blue was now pieces of charcoal on the ground. Yellow caution tape spanned the front of the building several times warning those around to stay away.
“Do you think it’s safe to go inside?” The night ran through my head over and over, visions of laying in my own blood. I closed my eyes and placed my shaking hand against the frame of the car, vertigo swiftly coming and going in just a few breaths.
“Probably not.” Jongho checked his watch again. “We shouldn’t be here long. It’s not safe.” I nodded and slid back into the car, dabbing the tears at the edge of my eyes, knowing that the life of a quiet painter was over. Dread and sorrow washed over me, as the car drove away and I knew that the little gallery would never be there again.
HONGJOONG
Hongjoong sat in his home office, spinning a pen in his left hand, the news playing softly in the background as he went over the proposal Yeosang’s team had created for the next Black Illusion event that would be happening soon. A soft knock came on the door, “Come in.” Hongjoong turned to see Yunho and Mingi step through the door. “Hey.” Hongjoong stood and greeted the two men, glad to see the two make it right in time.
“Hey boss.” They slid onto the sofa seats while Hongjoong leaned against the desk. “How has our guest been?” Mingi asked, crossing his leg over the other and stretching out along the couch.
“Rhea? Why should I care?”
“Heard that you two got in a little fight? Jongho said that she had the balls to talk back to you and he was surprised that you didn’t chop off a finger.” Mingi said with a smirk. Hongjoong raised an questionable eyebrow, wondering what Mingi was trying to imply.
“Are you assuming that I’m going soft?” Yunho and Mingi laughed, “Nah, we just said we missed the show down of a woman willing to stand up to you.”
“Shut up. Come on, just telling me what you found.”
Yunho pulled his phone out from his suit jacket and leaned forward in his seat. “We weren’t able to track down where she purchased the gun, but we did find where she purchased the hidden safe from and with a little convincing we were able to get to get a little bit of the story from the man who built it for her. He told me she had it custom built so that she had somewhere she could hide her personal information, but she had him do a specific measurement that got him wondering what she planned to use it for.”
“We also talked with a few people in the neighborhood and all of their responses were similar to each other. A friendly foreigner who was always helpful to those who were in need, but she kept to herself most of the time, people found her personality to be well mannered and quiet educated and they assumed that she was probably a daughter of an emissary or some sort of political figure by the way she held herself. They said that she also was very quick in picking up Korean and a few had heard her speak French and Russian too.”
“I’ve noticed that too.” Hongjoong nodded, crossing his arms and thinking about how she had been the day before. Despite her injury she carried herself with a lot of grace and poise that women nowadays don’t hold themselves to unless they come from money. That seemed to be the complete opposite from the information that Yeosang and the team had found, college art school dropout and from a small town in the middle of Texas.
“In addition to her fighting skills and the use of a firearm, I don’t trust her story.” He recalled how she had fought and how he could tell she was doing it with precision and not just instinct. “I think I’m going to have San test her skills, have her fire the gun and her hand to hand combat. Maybe we will get more information with that.” The three men were silent for a moment before another knock was on the door.
Yeosang stepped inside and placed a laptop and cellphone on the coffee table. “Just got a message from Jongho that they are almost here. Here is the laptop and the cellphone for Rhea to use, I’ve installed a tracker like you asked. Each of us should be able to keep an eye on her if she leaves the building. Also, Wooyoung is done getting everything ready for dinner.”
Hongjoong followed behind the men to the living room where Wooyoung was indeed at the table, with a marvelous spread of food. “Just a few last touches men and it will all be ready.” They took a seat at the couch waiting for their friend, “Now boss, I know that you and the girl didn’t leave each other on good terms yesterday, but this is San’s birthday dinner so don’t go causing a scene.”
Hongjoong rolled his eyes, “I don’t know what you guys are trying to imply, but it’s going to stop or I’ll be chopping off your fingers.”
Yunho and Mingi looked at each other with wide eyes, but then started snickering when the elevator doors dinged and Jongho came around the corner followed by Rhea. Hongjoong had to keep his face stoic because he had wanted to smirk about how perfect she looked in the pantsuit he had chosen for her to wear. While she carried the cream jacket over her arm and the pair of navy heels in her free hand, she still looked as elegant, standing there barefoot, as he had imagined when he picked out the outfit in the first place. She looked tired, like being with Jongho all day had worn her out, “Oh, you don’t have to stop on my account.” She sheepishly said, walking toward her bedroom, “I’ll head back to my room and get changed.”
San was quick on his feet and took her gently by the arm. “Nah, come and join us for dinner, today is my birthday and Wooyoung has made a feast for tonight and I insist that you must join us.” She seemed to weigh in her mind what to do, but San already signaled the maid to take her belongings from her and brought her over to the group while Wooyoung finished up the last of the food.
“Happy birthday San, I’m sorry, I would have gotten you something, but I didn’t know.”
“No you wouldn’t have even if you had, I don’t need anything, but let me introduce you to the last of the group. This is Yunho and Mingi.” Hongjoong watched as Yunho took Rhea’s hand in his and they bowed to each other and repeated the same actions with Mingi only he held out his right hand before switching to his left.
“Nice to meet you.” Hongjoong remembered Yunho’s words about her polite manner, reminding him of the first time that they met when she first opened her gallery. It had been a brief conversation about a particular painting that had caught his eyes, but when she talked even her very basic and broken Korean was better than most foreigners. Now that she had improved in her speech he could see what Yunho’s report stated, even when she is towered over by the tall men, she met them as if they were of equal height and kept her posture soft but structured.
He smirked, “Finally looking the part of a gallery owner.”
Everyone stopped in the middle of the conversation to look at the leader, he could see that San wanted to interrupt him so that they didn’t ruin the mood. “But, I’m not a gallery owner anymore, it kind of went up in flames.” She led with a snarky comment, “Plus, I don’t need anyone's opinion, especially a man’s, to determine what looks good on me.”
Before Hongjoong could make a comeback, Wooyoung called out to everyone, “Alright it’s ready.” The rest of the group gave a sigh of relief and headed for the table and San guided Rhea into the chair she had been in before, right next to himself and Hongjoong. The elevator door dinged again and a sleepy looking Seonghwa came into the room, greeting everyone and giving San a hug before giving him his birthday wishes. Mingi popped open a bottle of wine and champagne and began filling everyone's glasses with what they wanted to drink.
San was the first to be served and then filled up Rhea’s plate for her while the group dug into the food. Wooyoung excitedly explained the dishes that he made because San had requested them and Yeosang made a comment about it tasting good for once cause he followed a recipe.
Laughter filled the room as they ate, sipping their drinks, but Hongjoong kept an eye on Rhea. Though there was something about her that was a mystery he wanted to solve he did enjoy the laughter on her face and the moments she would brush the hair out of her face to have it just fall back into the place it had been. He had to admit that he found her attractive when they first met, but he wasn’t expecting to see her more than someone to do business with and now they joyfully sat together at the table.
“Boss, is this the gift you had mentioned yesterday?” San asked, breaking Hongjoong’s concentration. “I mean, I knew you had an eye for fashion for yourself, but I didn’t know that you were so good with women’s fashion. It looks really good on her.” She blushed a little and gave a small thank you for the compliment before Hongjoong replied. “What can I say, I’m experienced with women, their bodies and their styles. I know what they like.”
“Who said I liked it?” Rhea asked, closing her eyes and sipping the red wine in front of her. The room went silent before the table erupted with laughter, leaving a scowl on Hongjoong’s face. He could see that Rhea was doing her best to keep her own laughter together as she sipped the wine. This gave the table an opening to joke and berate their leader a little bit more about he knowledge for women, but when one of them started joking about him being a pure soul, he knew he had enough.
Hongjoong sprung up from his chair and went out the terrace doors into the night air, the room quieted only to erupt in more laughter. It took several minutes before they all could get themselves composed. Rhea was the first to recover and stood up from her seat and followed the leader out the door. “Leave him alone Rhea, he’s still steaming.” Called out a buzzed San, but it quieted after the door closed behind her. Hongjoong leaned against the wall, looking over the city below, but he could feel her eyes on him. “What do you want?”
He could hear the soft steps of her feet approach him from behind and it was only in this situation he would have his back turned on someone, never wanting to leave himself vulnerable to anyone. That was how he took a knife to his side one time and he wouldn’t do that again, but he had this feeling about her. She leaned against the wall beside him and out of the corner of his eyes, he could see that she was taking in the city view and the moon reflecting off the water. “I haven’t really even had the chance to say thank you.”
“For what?”
“For this suit, it really is beautiful.” He didn’t answer because he could feel there was something she wanted to add. “And, for not letting me bleed to death. And for letting me stay here. This isn’t much of an excuse, but this isn’t the first time my life has been uprooted and during that time I didn’t know who to ask for help, so I want to be more grateful for the people who are helping me this time around.” Hongjoong could hear the sincerity in her voice as she awkwardly finished, her polished fingers tapping on the metal rail of the wall before she began to leave.
He spun on his heels and took her hand into his. Their eyes met for a brief moment before Hongjoong brought her hand to his lips again, the warmth of his breath tickling the tips of her fingers. “We’ve made a deal and I plan to keep it.” He whispers, his gaze only breaking when he made his way past her, seeing the boys turn back to the table as if they weren’t looking. He saw in the reflection of the glass Rhea frozen in place and he smirked, feeling like he had won this little battle, now it was time to celebrate his victory with cake.

25.
Section 1 – Who were you?
Think back as far as you can. What is the first memory you have? I think meeting my (now) dad for the first time when he and my mom were dating. I was very upset because he was short and that’s not what dads were supposed to look like in my 3 year old eyes since my bio dad was super tall.
What is something you remember enjoying very much as a small child? Playing Barbies, watching Barney, Happy Meals, being with my grandma.
How old were you, when you made your very first friend? Probably preschool.
Are you still friends with this person today? Facebook friends, yeah. Real friends, no.
Was there a story somebody read or told you that has stuck with you? No one ever read to me after I learned to read for myself so one day I was sick and I came home and curled up with my mom on the couch and asked her to read me a Little Mermaid book I had and she did, even though I had to get up to go shit myself halfway through and it meant a lot to me at the time.
What is something you get an immense feeling of nostalgia from? Hannah Montana for some reason. It was my favorite show and we didn’t get the Disney channel so whenever we went to a hotel, nobody could tell me fuckin NOTHING because we were watching Hannah Montana whether they liked it or not.
As a child, were you a sore loser or a sore winner? I was the only child for 8 years and then the oldest after that so I never lost at anything and now when I do, I feel like I'm the biggest piece of shit loser there’s ever been. So that’s fun.
Did you go through the "naked phase"? I learned that you didn’t have to sleep in pajamas and you could just sleep naked so I did it for a while but then realized that I much preferred pajamas.
Which television shows do you watch the most as a child? I loved TV so basically all of the 90′s/early 2000′s shows there were.
Did you play with siblings, neighbourhood kids or by yourself? Either with neighborhood/school kids or by myself. I didn’t ever really have siblings who weren’t my kids, if that makes sense.
Is there something you really miss from your childhood today? I miss back when everything was simple.
Section 2 – Likes and interests
Would you ever like to try competitive pinball playing? Ummm, no.
Do you knit, crochet or cross stitch? I’m trying to teach myself to crochet.
Have you ever, or would you like to attend a gaming or comic convention? No thx.
What's your opinion on online multiplayer games? I really liked Among Us for a while there but I don’t really enjoy how rude everyone is on online games.
Do you like to go cycling? If so, where? Uh no.
Have you ever tried woodturning? If not, would you like to? Never tried it, don’t really have any desire to, but it can be relaxing to watch!
Do you enjoy drawing? If so, what do you usually draw? I do! I usually draw graphics for YouTube videos or doodle over Instagram photos, draw things to put on shirts with my Cricut, etc. I use my iPad for so many things.
Have you ever attended a painting class? If so, what did you create? I haven’t but I would like to!
How about a creative writing course? If so, did you get any feedback? I took Creative Writing literally every year it was offered in high school and I always got awards for having the top marks in the class.
What is your favourite form of exercise? No thank you.
Section 3 – People
Who is the most important person in your life (besides yourself)? My husband.
Do people generally approach you easily? I think so!
Do you get along with people well? If not, what's the problem? Yeah! I’m pretty friendly and easy going.
Do you enjoy being in crowds or do you prefer your own company? I would much prefer my own company than crowds.
Which one of your friends have you known the longest? I still talk to the girl I was best friends with in the 6th grade on occasion so like 17-18 years?
Do you find it easy to make friends now? If not, what makes it difficult? As an adult who works from home, making friends is hard as fuck.
What is something about people that annoys you? Something I've noticed in recent years is just how entitled and greedy everyone is. Everybody wants something from you or for your skills to benefit them without them putting in any work or paying you for your time. It’s just gross.
What is something about people that you really like? We have really, really harsh winters and if you ever find yourself in the ditch for whatever reason, there will be a lineup of cars stopped behind you to help you push it out or let you chill in their car while you wait for a tow truck. On the really bad blizzard days, there are groups of men in big trucks that literally L I V E to go around and help pull people’s cars out of the ditch. It’s the only time I feel like there’s actually a sense of community around here.
If you live alone, what would be your criteria for a roommate? I honestly would never have a roommate because they could either be your friend or a stranger and living with friends is a good way to ruin a friendship if your living styles aren’t similar and living with a stranger just sounds like a nightmare.
How about criteria for a spouse, if you're single? I am married but my criteria was honestly that I just wanted him to be kind and funny and I got that tenfold with my husband.
In general, what's your attitude towards people? I can’t stand to be around grumpy people. If all you do is gripe and complain about literally everything, I’m out. No thank you. Why is your hobby being angry? Take up knitting or something for christ’s sake.
Section 4 – Habits
What is something you do every day without fail? Baby talk the dog and snuggle with Beebs.
What is your typical breakfast? I’m a leftovers for breakfast kinda gal but lately I’ve been having a bagel and watermelon.
Which article of clothing do you like to wear the most? I loooove me a good baggy T-shirt and booty shorts.
Is there a TV show you watch habitually? We’re currently watching Unhhhh while we eat dinner every night, haha!
Where do you usually spend most of your day? I really only sit in 4 places--bed, the couch, my makeup/work desk, or my sewing desk. Depends on the day which one I’m at.
Is there a product that you do not want to run out of? Moisturizer. I’m a dry son of a bitch.
What is your preferred mode of transport? Car!
Do you usually have something playing in the background when you're home? Nah. I’m in silence a lot of the time.
Where do you usually get your groceries? Walmart for the bulk of it, a local grocery store for the specialty items, and Target if we ever run out of something midweek because I cannot handle Walmart more than once a week.
How often do you go to your local park? Like once or twice a month in the summer!
Which of your hobbies do you indulge in most often? Sewing and Sims currently!
Section 5 – Favourites and dislikes
What is your favourite fruit? Watermelon!
How about your favourite berry? Strawberries are the only berry I like.
Which food do you highly dislike? Fish. It’s all disgusting.
What is your favourite song, and why? I hate this question. Who can pick one definitive favorite song out of the bajillions of songs that have been written??
What is a movie you cannot stand? Anything with Seth Rogen in it, any movie that's got a 3+ after it (looking @ you, Fast & Furious), and all the fuckin’ superhero movies that have the same ‘ah yes, this undefeatable bad guy that we have absolutely no chance against and will undoubtedly kill us all--but we’re going to pull through at the last second with the power of friendship!’ plot line.
Which trait in a person do you find most appealing? I don’t know how to describe it--certain people just have that spark and you can always tell right away if they’ve got it or not and those are my favorite kind of people.
Which trait puts you instantly off? If they’re religious it’s an instant no from me, dog.
Who is an actor/actress who you dislike so much you can't watch them? I really, really dislike Tom Holland. I honestly think he’s a terrible actor.
What colour are your favourite shoes? White!
What is a smell that disgusts you to no end? B.O., on me or others. I just can’t deal with it.
Which door handle/door knob do you like the most in your home? They’re all the same.
Section 6 – Culture
What is something very typical to the culture of your home country? Apple pie and baseball are the only things coming to mind atm.
Do you enjoy art? If so, which form of art is the most enjoyable? I do! But I prefer art that you can look at and know the artist is incredibly gifted and/or has put in a ton of time and effort to master their skills. None of that million dollar paint smear on a canvas shit.
What is something about another country's culture you don't understand? I feel like other cultures take their family and their family’s approval way too seriously. That might be rich coming from someone who doesn’t have a very good relationship with their family but I just don’t understand what the point of making yourself miserable to make your family happy is.
Do you ever attend the theater? If so, which play did you see last? Last thing I saw in a theater was Shangela perform a drag show, haha!
How about the opera or the ballet? Nope.
Which dance troupe do you enjoy, if any? ...they still do that?
Do you attend concerts or gigs? If so, which band did you see last? Not as much as I’d like to as no one good really comes here very often. Last band we saw was X Ambassadors and Paramore!
Are you interested in foreign food? I’m not uninterested but I’m not super interested either.
If so, which country's cuisine do you enjoy the most? Chinese...albiet probably a very Americanized version of Chinese.
Do you enjoy stand-up comedy? If so, who is your favourite comic? I doooo! Bo Burnham and Drew Lynch are my favorites.
Do you contribute to culture in some way? If so, how? I try to? I’m an influencer so I definitely have a platform of a couple hundred thousand people. Not sure what exactly I contribute tho.
Section 7 – Charity
Do you volunteer your time to anything charitable? If so, what? Newp.
Do you donate money to any charities? If so, which ones? No. I don’t trust a lot of charities, to be quite honest. A lot of them are very shady and I’d rather donate money directly to someone who needed it rather than it getting tied up in a charity where it might never actually see the people they claim to be helping.
If you have pets, are any of them rescues from shelters? We adopted our dog from one of my husband’s coworkers but she probably would have gone to the shelter if we didn’t take her.
Do you donate your old clothes, linen etc. to charitable organizations? Yes! We almost always have a bag of donations in our trunk that we always forget to take to the thrift store when we go.
If someone you know is in need, is it in your nature to offer help? If I can, yes!
Have you ever donated Christmas presents to children of poor families? We used to do that when I was a kid.
Have you ever had to rely on other people's charity? One Christmas when I was really young I remember my parents signed up for a sponsorship through the Salvation Army where a family adopted us and bought us Christmas presents and Christmas dinner or whatever.
How do you feel about donating to charities endorsed by celebrities? I would never donate to a charity simply because it was sponsored by a celebrity but I guess its the easiest way for a charity to get the word out that they need donations.
Is there a charity you absolutely never ever will not trust? PETA, Salvation Army, Goodwill, and that breast cancer one with the horrible CEO.
Have you ever donated to a cause that had a person going door to door? No. I extra wouldn’t if someone came knocking on my door asking for money.
In general, what is your opinion on charity? I already did my rant about them, haha.
Section 8 – Entertainment
Which was the very first video game you remember playing? Ocarina of Time I believe!
Which was the very first film you remember watching? That I don’t remember. Maybe that Barney movie with the magic egg?
What is your go-to form of entertainment? TikTok usually.
Do you have a large collection of DVDs/Blu-Rays? Nah. We have a drawer but we usually stream everything.
How about music albums? Beebs collects vinyls!
Do you prefer to have your music on vinyls, tapes, CDs or digital? I prefer digital and Beebs likes vinyl.
When and where do you like to entertain yourself usually? Either the bed or the couch.
Do you ever binge watch shows? If so, what are you binging now? Usually! I’m sadly in between shows rn.
What kinds of books do you like to read, if any? I honestly don’t read anymore.
Is there a book series you're currently collecting? ..
Is entertainment something you prefer to enjoy alone or with someone else? I have my shows and then we have shows we watch together. So there’s a time and place for both!
Section 9 – Internet
Do you always have access to the Internet, wherever you go? If not, why? Yup!
Which website do you frequent the most? Website website? Google. App website? Instagram or TikTok.
Which search engine do you prefer and trust the most? Googs.
What do you use the Internet the most for? Social media or entertainment.
Do you judge people who have their phones out all the time? If so, why? Random people? None of my business. But if we’re spending time together and I’m trying to have a conversation with you and you're not paying attention to me because your nose is glued to your phone, I’m gonna be pissed.
If your connection goes down, what do you do? Go do something that’s not on the internet?
Is there something you wish you could do online that isn't possible yet? I still wish you could smell things through the internet.
Do you remember the first time you used the Internet? When was it? Yes! I believe the 2nd/3rd grade?
What was a website you used to frequent that doesn't exist anymore? I loved the Disney website with all the games.
Do/Did you ever have your own website? That was the thiiiing back in the day.
Isn't it great how much knowledge and info we have at our fingertips? It’s great but also overwhelming.
Section 10 – And finally...
What is something you consider to be highly controversial? Politics, apparently.
What kinds of jokes do you like the best? I love a good pun.
Is there a person who makes you laugh effortlessly? Oh definitely.
Which part of your body do you like the least? My eyes.
What's something random, out of context you remember from your past? I don’t do well with really vague questions.
Do you wear shoes indoors? No, I’m not a heathen.
What's the silliest thing you've worn on your body in public? I don’t think I usually wear silly things.
What's the most important thing in your life right now? Just spending time with my fam. Trying to get over this anxiety.
What is the most distant point on the planet that you've been from home? Florida.
Do you enjoy trivia games? If so, which one's your favourite? We love some Trivial Pursuit in this house!
Are you more logical or emotional? My emotions take over and then my logic brings it back in. Equal parts, baby.

The iPad was on its side, the stand holding it in position as Nell moved around the kitchen. She had an hour before meeting Alex, which may or may not have been giving her second thoughts and butterflies. Not the good kind. Why had she agreed to this? Why was she feeling stressed about this? What she wanted more than anything was someone to hug her and tell her that this would be fun. A night out, with somebody other than Ivan. It was a new experience and if she didn't have fun, she never had to go again.
A call from mom always helped, right?
“Where's Ivan?” Evelyn asked, her daughter had called her in the middle of her work day. At first she had assumed something was dire, when the nerves seized, the Stewart Matriarch relaxed.
“He's next door, Jordan and Sophie are letting him hang out there tonight.” Bridie had a family party and Nell was hell bent that she was not missing it, because of her plans to have a drink with Alex. Ivan would welcome the change of pace, Jordan would surely engage Ivan's imagination with his skills as an actor.
The last time Ivan had gone there for a few hours, Nell had returned to find Jordan and Marco had built a full on fort in the middle of the living room, they'd had makeshift costumes, an imaginary dragon, and some sort of new language. Ivan had a way of charming people into doing whatever it was he wanted. A dangerous power for an almost eight year old to wield. These were the sort of fantasy games Henry would go along with, creating whatever world his son wanted to live in for the moment. Jordan had happily gone along with it, no questions asked and Nell would remain grateful.
“Have you told him that Henry is coming to  visit?”
“No, why? Wait?” Nell turned to face the iPad. “How?”
“Henry told me.” Evelyn answered in a painfully obvious manner. Nell wrinkled her nose, her stunned look told her mother all she needed to know. “We talk almost weekly, you know. Just because it's rocky with the two of you, he's still the father of my only grandson.”
Nell's older brother Michael had two children, daughters. Her older sister, Michael's twin, Sadie also had a daughter. Ivan being the only boy took the title proudly.
“I'm glad Henry finds the time.” Nell snorted. Evelyn rolled her eyes and shook her head, avoiding a lecture, Nell derailed her mother. “I'm glad that he's comfortable talking to you.”
“You still talk with his family, do you not?”
“I suppose.” Nell accepted. “What else did he have to say?”
“He's busy working, he's excited to take some time off for Ivan, he's looking forward to seeing your brother next weekend. He said you didn't sign up?”
“I don't have time to run this year. I'll send a donation.” Nell shouldn't have been annoyed that he brother was running a marathon with her ex, yet she was. Less annoyed that Michael was doing a charity run and more annoyed that she hadn't been asked.
“Your father and I have sent ours. Other than that, there isn't much going on. Something about a new job in Hamburg? Hungary? Somewhere with an H in Europe.”
Nell frowned, Henry hadn't mentioned anything to her about a new job. Not that he had to, it was his right to take whatever jobs he wanted. In the past he had told her the second he was allowed to talk about them. Aside from his agent, Nell had been the first person to know that he'd been cast for Man of Steel, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, even the film nobody had ever heard of called The Cold Light of Day.
Again, Henry had a right not to tell her every detail of his left. Nell wasn't always forth coming with every detail in hers. Outside of Ivan, they didn't have to ever speak, if they chose that route.
Lord knows that there were many things that Nell never told Henry. Her date with Alex for example. She had spoke with Henry last evening, yet hadn't said a word about going out. A pang of guilt rose. Henry always told her when he'd gone out with somebody new, his reason was that – if this woman should become something more, he wanted Nell prepared as the woman he shared a child with. Transparency was the key to keeping their life mess free. Plus, it was better she heard it from him and not some trashy newspaper.
“Whatever it is, I'm sure he'll do well.”
“I'm sure he will. Did you remember to send that parcel? Tomorrow is his birthday.” Evelyn could remember Henry's birthday, yet had forgotten her Husband's birthday for the last three years.
“Yes, mom, I sent it two weeks ago. Ivan will call him tomorrow, talk to him, and then we probably won't hear from him until he gets here.”
“Why are you always like that, Nelly? He's trying. You know that he's trying and it's not easy, being...”
“Mom.” Nell was firm. She didn't need to listen to her mother explain everything she did wrong, when it came to Henry Cavill. “It's not that, it's...you know what, mom. I'm not doing this. Not tonight. I called, because I just needed to talk.”
“Okay, so let's talk. How is work?”
“That's the thing, you see, there's the guy at work who...” Nell paused, her doorbell ringing. “Shit. Mom, I have to go. That's Alex.”
“Alex? Male or female, Alex?” Evelyn smirked.
“Male. I will talk to you later, love you bye.” Nell hurried to turn off the call.
She didn't want to look desperate rushing to the door out of breath, nor did she want Alex standing there waiting. Taking a few calming breaths, she straightened herself out and coolly approached the door.
On the other side, Alex stood shaking like a leaf. He was probably sweating through his button down as well. Great! He was going to show up looking like a hot mess, asking a woman who already barely tolerated him to be seen in public with him.
This was a mistake! Why had he listened to Sophie?
“Alex, hey.” Nell opened the door in the nick of time. Alex had briefly thought of turning around and running away. Why did this woman do this to him? He'd never been intimidated by a woman before. “Come in, please.”
Stepping inside the first thing Alex noticed was the smell. An odd thing to notice, perhaps? It wasn't an unpleasant smell. The opposite, actually. The townhouse had a – homely smell. Warm and welcoming, fresh and light. It reminded him of summer and gingersnap cookies. Funny, summer and cookies is what Nell reminded him of.
“I brought you this, I didn't know what else to bring, but I wanted to give you something and here.” He held out the framed photo. It was the best way to begin, scared of what he'd say if he didn't lead with the gift.  “It's one of the photos I took, early on. I remembered it was your first solo design and...”
“Alex.” Nell cooed, gently taking the framed photo of Judith, played by Jennie Jacques in the lavish dress. “I don't know what to say. Obviously, thank you. I'm speechless. This is amazing.” She leaned in giving him a fast peck on the cheek.
The photo had to be one of the sweetest gifts she'd ever received from a guy, on a first date, not that Nell thought of this as a date.
“That dress is one of my favourite costumes.” Alex blushed. “I was in awe every time I saw it. You did amazing.” It was Nell's turn to blush. “And this is for Ivan. I thought he may like it.” He passed over a book of 1,001 Brain Teasers for Ages 8+.
“He's going to love this. Thank you.” Nell accepted the book, still lost in the beauty of the photo. Alex was talented with a camera, Nell had saw some of his other works and they blew her away every time.
“No problem, I loved things like that when I was his age. He's so smart.”
“Too smart.” In more than one way. Intellect was one thing, being smart ass was another. The boy had mastered both swimmingly. Nell dreaded the day he turned into a teenager. “Would you like a drink?” She stood holding the photo and book.
“I thought we were going out for a drink, but we can have one here. If you want. I don't mind.” Alex felt like a helpless fool. Damn it. Why was he such a blundering idiot tonight?
Oh right, because he was in over his head with a positively impressive and attractive woman. He'd dated attractive women before, most ended up being superficial.  A disappointment to say the very least. Nell was not going to disappoint. If either of them were a disappointment, it was Alex.
Damn it. He needed to be more confident. Marco had warned him about this. Not to let his doubt in or this would be a disaster of epic proportions.
“You know what,” Nell took a final look at the photo before setting it on the kitchen table, it would be safe until she arrived home. “Let's go for that drink. Should I call a car?”
“Please.” Alex nodded.
“I am going to call and grab my purse, feel free to make yourself comfortable.” Nell smiled, before disappearing.
She was hardly gone long enough for Alex to make himself at home, so to speak,  he didn't mind. If he was alone too long, his thoughts would get the best of him and this not-a-date-date would be over before they left the house.
Leaving the townhouse, Alex caught sight of the two shadows in the window across the courtyard. Nudging Nell, they both waved, laughing when Jordan and Ivan ducked disappearing from sight. They were having too much fun spying and Nell would hear about it in the morning. No doubt Alex would be teased as well.
Safely in the black taxi, Alex was being the perfect gentleman. Holding doors, helping Nell in an out of the car. He was doing what his mother would expect of him, nothing more. Being polite was costing him nothing and he enjoyed seeing Nell smile each time he did something chivalrous.
“I hope you don't mind, but I thought we could go somewhere a little more low key?” Nell watched the outside pass, the taxi navigating the streets effortlessly.
“I don't mind low key at all.” Alex replied casually watching Nell watch the outside world.
“It's a nice place, I promise.”
The driver was cordial when Alex slipped him his payment, insisting that he get it, after all it was his idea to come out. The least he could do was pay for their cabs, secretly he planned to grab the tab too, despite Nell telling him he really didn't have to get the cab and she would get the drinks.
Helping Nell from the car, Alex stood aside happy to follow wherever she led. Strolling down the street, Nell nudged her chin forward to indicate that this was their destination. A quiet bar front, if there was such a thing, with a small sign on the front advertising their establishment.
“Here we are.” Nell announced, bumping into Alex when they both reached for the door. “Sorry.” Her voice was a whisper when his hand found her lower back. Guiding her through the door, Alex's gaze was telling her more than his words could have.
“Shocking, but I don't think I have ever been here.” Alex glanced around the front entrance of the bar. He'd been to nearly every bar in Dublin and the surrounding area, but never this particular one.
“I used to come here, a lot, when I lived here before.” Nell led the way to the back of the building. Alex took note, it was certainly nicer and quieter than the other bars he frequented. A large bar in the front, which seemed to serve the larger part and in the back, where Nell had immediately bee lined, was a smaller area complete with a smaller bar.
“Cozy.” He noted pulling out the high bar chair for Nell to sit.
“It's nice. I like it here.” She slid onto the stool with ease. Catching the bar tender's attention. “Lagavulin, neat please.” Nell ordered without thought.
Alex took a beat to decide. “Ardberg, on the rocks with a twist, please.”
Nell grinned.
“What?”
“Nothing. I like that you just went for it. I enjoy when a guy knows what he wants.” Nell shrugged lightly.
“Laugh it up, I know the whole adding ice and all that ruins the flavour blah blah blah.” Alex took the teasing with grace. “I can't do it neat, bad things happen if I do for it straight up.”
“Oh, no. I have witnessed far worse than asking for ice.” Nell looked as though she was processing some sort of horrid memory. Alex waited, she would either tell him or move on. The bar tender slid their drinks to them, giving Nell a few seconds to decide on her story.
“Ivan's father was given a bottle of Chivas Regal once for a birthday present, my brother got the idea to mix it with chocolate milk. I have never saw something so disrespectful.” Nell cringed. Alex involuntarily made a disgusted face. Who mixed chocolate milk with scotch? Further more, why disrespect a perfectly good bottle that way.
“Was it even good?”
“By itself, I swear there were angels singing, whenever you took a sip. With the milk, I don't know. I contemplated disowning them both on the spot.”
“Blasphemy.” Alex smirked, taking a sip of his drink.
“But that's enough about Henry and Michael. I will add, they're lucky I still speak to them both.” Nell sipped her drink. Licking her lips, she sighed happily. It had been a while since she'd gone out for a proper drink. Pouring herself a glass here and there, after a long day wasn't the same as sharing a drink with somebody in a pub or a bar.
“I would say so.” Alex held his glass, “I will say a cheers to you and your forgiving ways. May Henry and Michael know how blessed they are.”
“Here, here!” Nell raised her glass, gently tapping it to Alex's. “This is nice.”
“Lagavulin, is one of the best you can get I mean...”
“No, no. Not the Lagavulin,” Nell blushed, her eyes casting down. “I meant having somebody to talk to, to share a drink with. It's been forever since I have left my house after 8pm, to do something other than work. I'm going to risk sounding like one of those people, but I am usually in bed by now.”
“Me too.”
“Really? Wow, when I was your age, I was never home on a Friday night.” Nell winced. “Sorry, I didn't mean...Oh fuck that came out wrong.”
Alex laughed at her earnest. “I know what you meant.”
“Sometimes my mind and mouth don't engage. My mother says it's one of my biggest downfalls. I'm working on it.” Nell passed it off playfully.
“My mom says my downfall is that I am too stubborn and I don't know when to give up.” Alex revealed.
Nell tried to hide her chuckle. “A lesson, between us, moms know their sons better than anyone.”
“I'll remember that.” Alex's smile was full of mischief. “Any other secret mom tips that you're allowed to reveal?”
“Uh,” Nell tapped her chin, “Mom's really do have eyes in the back of their head. They're the hardest working people on this planet, and we have an excellent bullshit detector.”
“All useful.” Alex played into it. Leaning closer, his eyes dropped to watch her lips as she spoke. Licking his lips, he took less than a breath to snap back. Nell wasn't the type you hit on just because. “And what else can you tell me? This time about you, not as a mom.”
“Oh.” Nell shifted in her seat, adjusting her skirt, smoothing it over her calves. “I have two siblings, they're twins. I hate cake, as you know.” She smirked. Alex nodded. “And I have never dated somebody younger than me. Now you.”
“I have a sister. I play guitar, not well,  it's a budding hobby. And I only ever date older women.” Alex shrugged, swirling his scotch in the glass, taking a drink. Smooth. What a way to sound like a moron.
He'd really felt this was going somewhere, until two seconds ago.
“Alex, so you know, I don't really think that this is going to go beyond tonight.” Nell's gaze fell uncomfortably. “I like your company, as a friend.”
That was a fair answer. Alex was a tiny bit disappointed, not that he had a right to be. He was lucky that Nell had agreed to come at all.
“Can I ask you something? If you are uncomfortable, don't bother. You can also tell me to fuck off, but why did you agree to come out with me?” He pushed his hair behind his ears, his eyes locked on hers. “I'm happy you did, but I don't understand. Maybe I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.”
“Alex, it's not that I don't like you.” Nell felt the weight of the world suddenly on her shoulders for making him feel this way. “I think you're lovely. You are very kind and a great person.”
“But?” Alex knew it was coming. This kind of statement always had a but.
“But, it's complicated. I love working with you, but I know what happens next, because I've been there. So, if I stay guarded, you eventually go away, and nobody gets hurt.” Nell waved to the bartender, ordering another drink. This time a double.
Ordering another drink, Alex mustered up the courage to ask his next question. It lingered on his mind, but he'd never had the balls to come out with it. “Is it because of your ex?”
Nell accepted her new drink, draining half the glass in one gulp, before nodding. “And it's a stupid excuse. I know that.”
“No, I've heard worse.” Alex thanked the bar tender for his fresh drink. “You loved him? It had to have hurt when that ended. I get it.”
“We were together for almost three years.” Nell took the time to explain her behaviour a little. Alex had been the brunt of her rash and unfair treatment, all because of something that had absolutely nothing to do with him.
“So, it was serious?” Beyond having a son with the guy, of course. He didn't have to say it, Nell had figured out how to read between those lines.
“Not in the way I saw a future, but in the way that I knew we were comfortable.”
“You worked together?”
“We did. I mean, in a way. Yes. I was an intern.” Nell tipped the glass up to her lips. “We met while he was on The Tudors.” Nell shrugged picking at her drink napkin. “It's partly why I have this job. They loved what I was capable of and hired me back, when Janet had to leave.”
“I'm glad they hired you.” Alex offered, tipping his drink. “I don't plan on having a kid with you, but I am glad they hired you.” He smirked trying to break the tension.
“Happily I will accept that.” Nell smiled. “I didn't want to think about being married  or having a kid at 22, but you know.”
Alex could relate, he couldn't imagine being married. Or having a kid. Not right now. His life was going great and there was no need to complicate things. Not that he assumed Nell found Ivan a complication or a regret.
“I think it's pretty brave of you to raise Ivan, the way you have been.”
“It wasn't all me. His dad helps a lot.” Nell bit her bottom lip, she wasn't entirely alone. “We lived together for the first year after Ivan was born. Henry adores Ivan, you know.” She wanted to make that clear.
“I didn't doubt he would. I'm sorry if this feels like me prying, but why did you split?”
What kind of man would leave someone as fantastic as Nell? How stupid was he? Alex had to know. If she became uncomfortable she would tell him, surely. No, Alex was confident that Nell would tell him to shut up if he was going too far. If he left here alone, covered in scotch, then he had deserved it.
“It was too much, having a baby and trying to bolster a career. You know how it is, appearing to the public in one way, while living another. It was too much, he was gone all the time and I was alone anyway, so I moved back home.”
Fleeing London to take refuge in St. John's had only lasted a year. Nell loved being close to her parents and sister, but needed something more. She'd been used to the lifestyle in London and soon found herself heading back. Before too long, she was back in Britain, living there until getting the call to move back to Dublin.
“Oh.” The word formed on Alex's lips without breath.
“It's complicated.”
In other words, Nell was often left angry with herself, over the situation. Blaming Henry had become easier, along the way, it was a go to when she needed it.
“Most relationships are.” Alex scoffed. “But we get back on the horse and keep trying. Isn't that what we're taught?”
“It's hard finding a guy who wants to date a woman, who has a kid.” Nell shrugged. She hadn't had much luck dating in the last few years. There had been one or two guys who had stayed around for a month, maybe two, then it always ended once they found someone better. “It's harder finding someone to date, once they find out your son's father is Superman.”
And that is how she knew she'd had possibly gone too far. Here they were now, might as well keep going. Get it all out on the table. This was the part where Nell over shared and Alex never spoke to her beyond tonight.
“Every man thinks he's Superman, at some point.” Alex laughed lightly. Seeing Nell in a new light, he couldn't imagine somebody not wanting to know her or Ivan. She was an excellent mom.
“No,” Nell's brow creased. “He's literally Superman.”
“I don't follow.” Alex's brow creased in confusion. How drunk was she?
“His father,” Nell swallowed the last of her drink. “My ex is legit Superman. Clark Kent, Man of Steel. Kal-El?   Henry Cavill is my ex.”
The look on Alex's face as he tried to piece all of this together was becoming comical. This was generally the part where the date would ask some stupid, mundane question and then leave. Or he would attempt to try and impress her with a pointless show of masculinity. Alex was going to be neither of those. She could tell with the way his face contorted and his eyes softened.
“I had no idea.” Surely he wasn't the only one to not know this. The man's name was Henry, it was the only detail he'd ever had to go on. Nell had met him working, okay? There were thousands of Henrys in the world.
“You didn't know?” Nell began to chuckle. “Seriously? I thought everybody at work knew. Ivan's last name is Cavill.”
“There are more than one family of Cavills in the world.” Alex defended his ignorance. Until right now, he had never heard anybody use Ivan's last name and had always assumed it was Stewart. “Henry Cavill.”
Alex mulled it over for a second, having to say the name to somehow make it real. “Hmm. Well, at least he's not some sort of crazed inmate, who is hell bent on revenge on any man who talks to you.” He smirked, side eyeing Nell. “He not crazed and hell bent on revenge, is he?”
“No, probably not. You can ask him, when he's here in a few weeks.” Nell waved the bar tender over to pay. “Although, I think you will be safe. Start running, he's big, but slow.”
