Cant sleep so im thinking about ayhalo
I think its like. one sided. qaypierre WOULD smooch that demon and take him on dates. qbad would not recognize anything as a romantic gesture. aypierre could throw a bouquet of chocolate roses at him and bad would just be like ! thank you :}
like they love each other, absolutely. they TRUST each other, to the point where i’d even say it gets in the way of bad seeing aypierre as anything more than a good friend. that’s his guy. The dude always in his corner. Friend resource label: team mate (coparent) (down to help kidnap people). bad doesnt do classic romantic relationships- all of his relationships are INCREDIBLY queer, but the closest he usually gets to what others read as romance is a classic chewtoy4chewtoy dynamic. He LOVES to fuck with people and he loves to get fucked with and if there’s a nice jawline or pretty muscles included?? huge bonus !!
he’s got something- not kinder, with aypierre? not calmer, either, but stable, maybe. pierre has proven, over and over again, that he’s on bad’s side. Spying on tubbo, encouraging bad’s pranks, the kidnapping- i can’t call it a reliable dynamic, not with how paranoid bad is, even when he trusts, but there is still a feeling of understanding that, wherever pierre’s limits are for when he cant support bad (or genuinely turn against him), it hasnt been reached yet
aypierre, on the other hand, i dont know enough about to be absolutely sure but there are some Vibes. ironically, i think hes feeling like his relationships are unreliable. max was going to have their baby, and then he wasnt, and then he left him, then max fucking died. plus whatever is happening with him and ayrobot, which probably leaves him feeling like he cant rely on Himself. like he had, if not a little crush on bad, at least some Interest in him, before. as well as several islanders. i remember the days of the Bed Threat.
but thats part of it, too? because those flings didnt have that emotional connection, and i always got the sense that he started looking for that with maximus, to Love and Be Loved rather than pure lust. To care about someone, genuinely, and be cared about in return. but he didnt get that with the flings, and We know that max was using him, but i dont know if he did, but maybe he had a feeling about it and maybe he also had a feelinf about maximus’ feelings towards bad and maybe- there’s something about that? A little push of not-spite-not-projection onto bad.
because bad IS that reliability, right now. he’s a fucking gremlin. a bastard. a prankster silly guy. he trusts aypierre and aypierre trusts him and they dont share everything but so often, when it comes down to it, it is them against the world. them in the corner, caught, aypierre shouting about kissing as a cover for their crimes while bad runs giggling away from him.

I think one of the coolest things about learning a new language is when you start not having to translate certain words in your head and you just know the meaning directly literally one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced

Hi, just wanna add/bring up three more points to the DFO theory + Midoriya having a natural Quirk
Also some thoughts of 412 are included here:
1. What if it's behind the vault door? Why do the vestiges sit in front of it, almost as if they're guarding it? Why is that door the only thing intact?
When Kudo says he has to let go of OFA, what if that's so they can't hold back what's in the vault door? Why was it specifically Star's arm, when we know she was raising hell in AFO's world?
One For All can't be wielded by a normal person anymore. In other words, someone with a Quirk. By locking the Quirk away, does that count? And they're just holding it back so Midoriya doesn't become like Shinomori's shortened life or AFO's Singularity-body-warping? Since Yoichi already said they're past the point of Singularity, why hasn't Midoriya's body warped?
2. The post I made about AFO liking Quirks like Toga likes blood. Midoriya, like AFO, has a fascination of Quirks. He analyzes how people use theirs and is amazed by how hard Quirks are put to use for people. But he also has a great/innate understanding of Quirks, and managed to use the vestiges' with barely any training (ex. Fa Jin, Gearshift)
Unlike AFO, Midoriya looks at the person first (Eri, Shoto, Bakugo, etc), and even Kudo calls this out in 412, that he looks at the goodness in people's hearts. AFO looks at the Quirk first (Ragdoll, Best Jeanist), and discards the person. He never bothered to find Ragdoll after stealing her Quirk, nor did he care when he used corpses as the base for Nomus.
3. The double-pinky joint. Midoriya has this, and so it's believed he won't have a Quirk. But if he's technically second-generation, he can still absolutely have a Quirk; for the first generation, Abilities happened because of a newly-discovered gene. People who could have the joint could still have Abilities, because they were just normal humans and suddenly woke up to find maybe their hair is floating now. Abilities were just popping up at random, and I don't think it'd be reasonable that a lot of humanity had just been living without the extra joint. Abilities scared them because no one knew what caused them, and created a fantasy-ish Uncanny Valley effect
The pinky toe was discovered later, and people used it as a basis then, but it's rudimentary. Because Midoriya was told to give up by Garaki, and Inko just apologized and cried, Midoriya just believed he really didn't have a Quirk.
Which brings the next point:
4. We see Midoriya as a kid, tearfully trying to make his parents' Quirks work. Lifting objects, or breathing fire—but if AFO was his dad, he never would've had the ability to breathe fire.
The start of All For One was a blank slate of having no Quirks available, because none had been taken yet.
But Midoriya, rather than take, was given One For All: a Quirk. Even disregarding the DFO theory, this is a parallel of AFO and OFA.
All For One takes. One For All decides to be given.
If Midoriya had AFO as a natural Quirk, it makes sense he's classified as Quirkless. But it also makes sense that he can handle multiple Quirks in one body from OFA; because the nature of AFO is being able to hold multiple Quirks
Midoriya is past the point of Singularity. But he's completely fine. Broken bones, compared to the body morphing into something else entirely? He got a good deal.
Midoriya is Yoichi's embodiment of ["the power to give and take could have been the kindest in the whole world"].
Midoriya is like. An intersection of AFO and OFA then. He has AFO, but was given OFA, and wants to save everyone. Living exactly what AFO could have done with his Quirk: saving others.

most islanders think Foolish is entirely pro Federation, either because he wants the power they give him or because he doesn’t truly understand what he’s doing or what’s at stake, and is just having fun. even to Cucurucho, he’s a bit of a fool - an overambitious one sure, but a fool nonetheless - who’s irritating and asks too many questions, not quite in a concerning way, but in the way a kid might bother you asking for more ice cream. a newbie on the job who wants the world and is trying to find his place in all of this - any digging for information surely isn’t malicious, because he’s obvious and ignorant about it!
it’s always so exciting when they talk about him, when they say such things to his face - it means it’s working. he tells Cellbit that he’s genuinely infiltrating and he’s not believed. Bad straight up says Foolish’s plans to a Federation worker, and if anything it does more to legitimize him further in the eyes of the Federation.
because he’s silly, and overeager, he can play dumb and his true intentions fly right over everyone’s heads. they only see him for whatever singular facet of his personality that he chooses to present, and it works so well because he can be all those things, he just overplays it to his benefit. Bad is one of the very few who can see his tricks for what they are, who doesn’t underestimate him - because hes right, Foolish does have this way of slipping past peoples defenses to get the info he wants without them even knowing they needed defenses in the first place.
idk this latest stream was just full of these little moments. acting silly when Etoiles asked him why he’s working for the Feds, and grinning when Etoiles says he’s basically a clapping monkey who doesn’t know what he’s doing, calling him naïve. asking Cucurucho a million questions and overwhelming him, acting suspicious and curious around the black concrete nonsense - allowing him to easily get away with presenting exaggerated, biased, and some even fabricated, evidence for his investigation, controlling the narrative entirely, because that part of the convo was made insignificant. (and through those questions, possibly even getting more bonuses for his office and fellow workers - he’s gotten the break room so far, and coffee machines, and another level for investigations, which has swayed workplace opinion towards him heavily.)
then with the AI, Cucuruchito, engaging in banter, then sharing a secret, which seems like a big deal - but everything he told the AI is just what he himself was told by Cucurucho, it was no secret to the Feds at all. then flirting with it for a long time before leaving - which is a tactic he outright explained to chat. to get what you want, information, loyalty, etc, you have to build a good repoire. if it takes flirting, and charm, if it takes a date or two, he’s more than willing to play the part to get what he wants. he’ll pretend to eat up their bullshit about him being special, and let them think he’s charmed instead of the opposite.
Foolish is good at what he does because he catches more flies with honey than with vinegar, and the flies never realize their caught - he’s patient enough to play the long con. and really, could someone as naïve, as foolish as him, be able to do such a thing?
he isn’t taken seriously. and it won’t be their final mistake, but it will certainly be the one that damns them.

always fascinated by people's different takes on the language barrier between kaz and the ghafas.
I think my personal opinion is that kerch, being the language of the center of commerce and an overall neutral party in the war, is kind of like english - in that it's an internationally spoken language, but certainly not by everyone. considering jesper spoke it well enough to go to university in ketterdam, even though he was a farm boy, it must be pretty widespread. matthias didn't speak it until hellsgate, but he also grew up very sheltered.
inej didn't speak kerch when she was taken, so it's reasonable to assume her parents didn't either. but maybe they spoke a little of it, like in some countryside places in europe? or maybe they learnt in their efforts to find her? or perhaps they focused their efforts inside ravka, and never learnt a word of it.
it's always suspicious to me that kaz never bothered picking up ravkan, being the strategic businessman that he is. I think he wouldn't hide that ability during the ice court/van eck mission if he had it, so either he can speak very little, or not at all; if not at all, it supports the assumption that kerch is the international business language, which is why he never bothered picking up a second language.
so would the ghafas learn enough kerch to communicate? I don't doubt that using inej as a translator would frustrate kaz to no end; words are his strongest weapon, so he'd definitely put effort into being able to communicate with them. but would he learn suli? or ravkan? suli would be a more personal gesture, which he'd see as a leverage to get the ghafas to like him. ravkan would be more useful in other ways, and we know how much kaz likes having more than one reason to do something.

I'm struggling a lot to find fics, especially as someone who is ace and isn't all too interested in reading about a sloppy toppy (not that it can't be good now and then). Specifically for bloodweave, most are oneshot smut fics which, again, great! But I wanna read something on the sweeter side. Does anyone have recs? (I'd prefer bloodweave but threeway relationships are great just as long as its mlm)

born to die
So; the story ends like this. The star is carried onto Gordion. Monsoon can hardly even move by the time they arrive. It is burning, charring as it moves, the bright flecks of indigo upon its skin dulling as it dies. It carries the star, faithful beyond words, trusting that Indigo will be there. And he is. He is.
So. They stand on Gordion, the only things there. There is nobody else. It is still far too early into the quota cycles.
Indigo does not understand the emotion that claws at his ribs, the awful heat that builds in his throat, behind his eyes. He cannot (and will not) ever understand it.
He is the one to initiate the hug. The last. (The first.)
It is such a desperate, clawing thing—Monsoon crumbles into him, smearing ash against his body. Monsoon is the one to wrap itself around him, because it knows that these are the last moments. It cannot muster the strength to clutch him as close as it would like, but it is not afraid. Why would it ever be? It's right here, where it began and where it will end, in the same arms that raised it. Fear has no place in its existence when Indigo is there.

Okay but my favorite GIR moments are ALWAYS the ones that imply he's just aware enough of what's going on to know that the thing he's doing will fuck up Zim's day, and he still does it anyway, possibly specifically for that purpose.
