thinking about the first crota fireteam and how crucial eris was to recruitment. the mission in itself was to avenge guardians lost to crota but there was a specific tint of focus toward avenging wei ning, something eris didn’t have much of a personal stake in aside from being a friend of her’s and eriana’s. and yet, she went on to recruit people who were obviously incredibly important to her; sai who seems to trust her with complete faith, vell who saved her life once and is willing to do it again, omar who only agreed to go because eris supports the cause, toland who she’d probably looked up to even in his exile, who has genuine faith in the mission despite everything.

and then, they die one by one and eris is entirely helpless to stop it. maybe it would be less bittersweet if they’d accomplished anything close to their original goal, if eris could come out of the hellmouth knowing her team’s deaths weren’t in vain. but they don’t, and they are, and everything was all in vain from the very beginning.

it’s interesting how eris emulates them, keeps them alive through herself. like sai, she trusts herself to carry out this insane hive ascension ritual with little concern for the personal risk. like vell, she adventures out into a hostile frozen wasteland and fights to protect others no matter the cost, even those she barely knows. like omar, she keeps talismans and charms and gives them to others who need reassurance, a reminder she’s in their corner. like toland, she’s the hive expert who still seeks to teach and mentor despite her more self-imposed solitude.

and of course, like eriana, her passionate love and craving for vengeance are constantly at war with one another. her sorrow, he guilt, her anguish over what she’s lost, competing with her desire to help, to mend, to protect what little she has left, to save a world she still somehow has faith in. the difference between them is that eris’ love will always win. she will not be led blindly into any pit again, not by her thirst for revenge, not by her despair, not by the darkness, not by the deep.

im so happy that more people on twt are covering about gojo's personality and the essence of the gojokuna fight as "the strongests".

i dont talk a lot about my thoughts on gojo because it probably wont fit popular narration esp those who are into jjk only to enjoy "gojo", and i might be held accountable for the 2k word personality analysis on gojo satoru without a degree in psychology and references from elsevier.

but you can def patch em up from his attitude, mannerism, facial expression, and how other people perceive him in the series, that:

gojo was still the arrogant, narcissistic, flippant, cold guy with a responsibility(-ies). you can read more from reference no. 1 about his traits and no. 2 regarding responsibilities. he's, not that,,,, pookie bear. he taught the students what needed to be learned, developed, and maintained but he's totally distant about his own strategy and goals. again, his students were also his soldiers to his greater mission of turning jujutsu world's systems upside down. he took care of them and nurtured them for war.

thanks to geto who had recalibrated his moral compass, gojo became slightly decent to be a teacher. but it didnt essentially change the way he viewed jujutsu world or sorcerers. since the beginning of his life, he was already burdened by his clan to be the modern age's arsenal. and so he thought and processed information like a human weapon.

if there's anything, geto would be the most excellent teacher for the kids who cared deeply for their well-being too. you can also see this.... from hidden inventory.... how emotionally attached hes to his target of protection (riko, nanako, mimiko) to the point that he thought about it over and over and took action for them.

so, in gojo's "darkness", there was kindness. in geto's kindness, there lies darkness. something like this. balance, the thing that gege always wants to achieve even in his character building.

baldur’s gate making me mentally ill specifically shadowheart and astarion.

something something willing loss as a tenet of sharran faith and what better tribute to the dark lady than shadowheart sacrificing her lifeblood to a creature of the darkness stripped of his humanity and free will, claiming a lost soul condemned to life in darkness as her own and nourishing him in shar’s name etc etc

maybe after some time it’s not about losing her blood and accepting the pain and exhaustion as a sort of dedication fast but a desire to give instead, to give astarion what he needs in every capacity (blood, kindness, a listening ear, protection, agency, etc) to the point where her religious dedication to shar pales in comparison to his whole-hearted devotion.

this is how it's supposed to be to me. cus it shows that they're "the seniors", with so much more experience than the MCs, already going through the ups and downs that carved them into the character that they were that day.

it wouldnt make sense if jjk's MCs got more aura than them, since theyre just students, born normal and had to practice their ability. heck, even student gojo had to practice. if yuuji and yuta had more aura than these three, akutami betrayed his own storyline. people mature by scars not by years.

he just didnt have to kill geto and amanai for gojo to realize he's yet the strongest if he didnt routinely exercise his ability, he didnt have to kill yu for nanami to give his 120% in his fight despite his mouth lying that he didnt bring his personal matter into it, or that he became the perfect fatherly figure to the students. gege didn't have to kill mai, getting rid of the chimera, for maki to literally evolve and become stronger. didn't have to kill rika and hurt maki for yuta to fully accept his special gift that used to scare people and be a special grade, didn't have to kill gojo for the students to start seriously strategizing, didn't have to hurt megumi, kill nanamimi and bunch of curses and cause destruction, for yuuji to realize that this was WAR and he's a man in a mission now with that gift from his mom/kenjaku, etc etc.

there will be a time when the students reach the same level of aura. and that's the point of this series. watching them slowly and steadily having "the strongest" aura.
