the fact is the 75th hunger games tributes were working hard to keep peeta alive because coin specifically wanted him for her cause/the rebellion. HOWEVER katniss had no way of knowing this and the first assumption that this girl makes is, "oh they must be protecting him/wanting him to get out of here alive because he is the only decent person in this arena and he is goodness and hope personified and has such a bright future and can offer so much to us in this bleak, bleak world, and they know that out of all of us he is the one who deserves to live."

like yeah while a case can be argued that peeta's goodness is pretty obvious to others, these are people who killed so they could keep their lives, and they barely know these random teens that won last year. the only reason katniss would draw that conclusion is because she literally has it so bad for him and is not at all subtle about it.

Something that both George RR Martin and Hayao Miyazaki have in common is writing female characters. They just really understand women somehow. They really disprove that theory that men can’t understand women. I personally have never felt so seen and understood by anything other than ASOIAF and ghibli movies. It reminds me too, that I’m not the only person dealing with these issues and there are other people who do understand my feelings and struggles, regardless if they’re male or female also.

So many Senior guys in my school are getting their mission calls and giving up stuff like great college opportunities for two years of that shit and I just-

I feel bad for them, honestly. Like they’re all massive bigots that pretend they’re not but I still feel bad that they have no fucking clue.

They have no clue that the bigoted values and ideas they have hurt people, because they’re not aggressively homophobic or ableist or racist- they’re PASSIVELY homophobic and racist and mysoginistic and ableist.

They have no clue that world outside of Utah isn’t as bad as they are told.

They don’t know that they’ll be teaching lies to people and imposing on other faiths that are happy where they are.

They have no clue, and feel bad for them despite how much they’ve hurt me in past years.
