I love being in STEM (chewing the paint off the walls, homocidal, sweating, 200 formulas looking at me)

Spring break day 3
Another day of spring break, and another day when I managed to finish my (very manageable) to-do list!
Today on my to-do list I had:
Make notes from wiki on zinc ✅
Make notes on wiki on iron ✅
Review/study fats ✅
Honestly my notes on iron aren't the best... I mainly focused on biochemistry part of it, and not as much on the other parts but I think it's ok.
Also I didn't study that much today, but that's because we're also on a skiing trip with my family, so I got home at like 4:30, and then we also watched a movie and etc... but honestly I'll take time with my family over a one good grade any day!
Also... Can I just say one thing? I HATE ANORGANIC CHEMISTRY. Like... I don't even know why, it's just so boring to me. Like I find biochemistry the best , because it's the closest to me, like I can see the name and think of that's inside my blood right now, but with some random anorganic rock... Omg I hate itttt.

Can I have hcs of Modern!Itachi with a s/o who works in STEM and is a little bit nerdy about it? Like infodumping about black holes, strange matter, cellular biology and anorganic chemistry?
Thank you so much in advance!
Girl you asked the wrong person lol
I have no clue about all this stuff, except for astronomy which I was obsessed with as a kid. I’ll try, but I am a humanities girlie myself 🥲😅 I feel like this can go for any S/O who is really nerdy/passionate about something
-Itachi would love to listen to his partner as they talk about something they are really passionate about. The way their eyes spark with joy and the enthusiasm in their voice really warms his heart
-He would try to understand the subject because let’s face it, he doesn’t like to feel ignorant. And he also wants to hold a conversation with his partner where he can feel like he contributes to it.
-He wants to understand the work they do fully. That’s why he asks questions, gets informed in his own time and probably spends a bit of his free time reading on the subject
-He would buy them books they haven’t read on the subject, probably take them on a date to an observatory if they’re nerdy about astronomy
-He would find it really cute. Just the way that someone can be filled with so much joy when they are interested in something is enough to make him smile.
-Would be very quick to reassure them if they ever apologise for infodumping, telling them how refreshing it is to see someone who is truly happy and fulfilled in their career

Sherlock, I want your opinion for my classes next semester. Chemistry or biology? I enjoy them both, so I don’t mind either one.
-D🦦🧛🏻
I personally prefer chemistry. Chemistry is the basic science of life, because everything biological depends on chemistry. All of the cells functions are chemical, enzymes, cellular respiration, neurotransmitters. Even the movements of muscles in the end depend on chemistry. But I suppose your chemistry course most likely would focus on anorganic chemistry, more on elements, molecules and chemical reactions in the laboratory. However, if you prefer the more general functions of the body on the level of organs or medicine, biology would be your better choice. But both subject often intertwine, one can not exist without the other. And both disciplines are important in forensic science.

Ok, the real question is:
Should I use red highlighter on my anorganic chemistry notes? Red, as in CJ Hook?
I mean, I'm already doing this with math (soft blue, as in Anthony Tremaine) and Evie (dark blue and red) get toxicology, obviously...

29.01.2020 // i'm shocked by the fact that i was actually productive today. i only have two exams (and two essays) this semester so my studying doesn't have to be as intense as last semester. nevertheless anorganic chemistry is quite a bit and i have to get my sh*t together. atm i have a weird obsession with studio ghibli movies and star trek enterprise (although i'm watching it in spanish, so it's actually studying. no. not really). had a seminar from 10 to 12, took a long lunch break, studied (effectively) for 5 hours and now i'm going to bed. bye.

20. October 2018
Preparing for my Chemistry lab on Tuesday. I have so many questions... but I‘m much less scared of it now than I was yesterday!! Progress!!
Also, I skyped with a friend for five hours and we failed together at our respective subjects. It was so much better than despairing over your notes on your own. We agreed we‘d do another study together session tomorrow, and I‘m really looking forward to it!

The only valid elements are the ones with s and p orbital.
D elements can stay too but they're on thin fucking ice.

100 days of productivity: days 12-27 I have been so swamped with work. Not even able to post anything. Just 13 days, 5 written exams and another oral one and I finally get to enjoy my first ever semester break. I'm so tired right now. Chemistry tomorrow at 9am, keep me in your thoughts please ♡

I only got around 60% of the work done I wanted to do during my little study marathon. Today was the first day uni. My study buddy and I went to the library after tlwe had a lunch date in the cafeteria. I missed her so much ♡
The organic chemistry lecture was painful. But I'm almost done with studying anorganic chemistry! c:
Tomorrow's TO DO:
》 Botany lecture 8
》 Botany lab preparation
》 Laundry
》 Reading!

hi I just started with university and I wanted to ask you if you can give any advice on meeting new people and dealing with loads of work? :)
Oh boy you’re asking the right girl! Im about to start the second year, after the first one has been studying hell, including several mental and physical breakdowns!
But its all worth it and well manageable (especially if your courses arent that hard) with the right friends!! And Uni is the best place to find them!
first point of advice is pretty obvious: talk to people! I know this may seem hard but in the beginning, everyone is looking out to meet new people so have lunch with your coursemates, form study groups, talk about common interests and the likes!
Uni is so much better than high school in SO many ways! But the most important one for me was probably that I felt more at ease with myself, was more open about my interests and opinions etc... I dont know where youre from but here in Germany youre on your own. Which is scary in the beginning but very freeing aswell! You can literally do whatever you want! Which brings me to my
second point of advice: do whatever you want! well maybe not completely but remember that youre mostly doing this for yourself. Work for yourself, take breaks for yourself and PURSUE YOUR INTERESTS! check out those info thingies they do at the beginning of each semester, uni is the perfect place to finally join that one social group or start that one hobbie/sport you were always interested in. Just Do It ! (or be like me and sign up for tons of things and actually never go there cause of the stress whoopsie) no but for real, try out as many things as you can and if you dont like them, so be it. But this is also an amazing way to meet new people who think alike! plus point: at this time of the year, there will be TONS of newbies so it wont be as awkward to be the ~new kid~
third point of advice: this is actually a split advice because I dont know whats best but seriously look for friends inside your course. 90% of my friends study the same thing I do which is great because we have the schedule/homework/practicals etc etc... but if you have lots of work its easy to get lost in this so idk about your work ethic but if you feel like you or your friends work too much -->
advice point 4: calm down and reevaluate your choices and possibilities. I know i know this sounds fake but those moments at night where you think about your life without crying (lol) are worth SO much. What do you want and how do you get it? What are you willing to give for it? if you seriously feel too tired or stressed to go on (been there) just take as much time off as possible. With the everlasting stress of doing well in uni, i know this can be hard. I was the laziest student in school (one of those people everyone hates because they do good without a lot of effort) but uni KICKED MY ASS! So you better get used to not getting the grades you deserve (and you do deserve them, I hate the uni grading system). So even if you feel like you need to go on and on and on with the work, it is okay to take breaks.
And if in the first weeks you feel stressed out and sad: talk to someone! I honestly cannot promise you that youll find friends as quickly as I did. But if you can, talk to your parents/a sibling or Me!! Since school was hard for me I never believed the “Happy People” that uni is the best time of your life. How could it be? But honestly? After 1 hell of a year, working my ass off to the point of randomly starting to cry at nothing.... it was all worth it!
I wish you the best time at uni! I know you’ll do amazing anyway!
