the anti-aging industry is disgusting. we will inevitably age, you don’t have to inject your face with botox and drink from specialized straws when you can just face reality.
aging is beautiful. God created us this way, and we should allow ourselves to feel life to its full extent instead of fearing our beauty being lessened.
when your worth is placed on character instead of outer-appearance, you will glow with happiness, and that’s what truly makes someone gorgeous forever.

Skincare tips
sleep as much as you possibly can
avoid touching your face, clean your phone regularly, change towels and pillowcases regularly.
find a gentle cleanser that does not disrupt the skin barrier
RETINOL !!!!!
Dr Dennis Gross peel pads are the holy grail! they will transform your skin
Effaclar Duo with Spf by La Roche Posay : unclogs, gets rid of impurities and helps with sun protection.
SPF every 2 hours, tinted SPF is better at preventing hyperpigmentation since it has higher coverage.
Biafine after Cosmetic procedures or Lasers or sunburns, it will calm the skin down in a day and prevent a sensitive reaction. reapply every 3 hours if possible.
eat a healthy diet
Wear sunglasses outside always
organic skin care products are a scam
eat Sardines, they are the best source of Vitamin A there is, I know it may be gross but it will give you glossy skin.
Drink 2 litres of water a day

Fuck "anti-aging" I'm pro aging
And not "age like a fine wine" bullshit
No! I want to age like a person!
I want to collect wrinkles like they are Pokémon!
I want my face to get so wrinkly you'll have to iron my face to find out my eye colour!
When I'm 90 I don't want people to see me and think "they aged gracefully!
I want people to see my small wrinkly form and let it fool them into letting me get away with little old man crimes!
I want to look like I can lay a curse on your household and have stolen all the jam packets from the cafe!
I want to age into a wrinkly menace to society!
FUCK!

Never underestimate the power of self care and self love. It might sound like a trivial slogan, but it’s the old truth.
•Find time for things you love
•Stop eating junk and processed foods
•Have a regular sleeping schedule and try to have 7.5-9 hours of sleep every day (individual needs for sleep vary from person to person)
•Think about things that make you proud of yourself and don’t torment yourself with stuff you cannot change.
•No matter how much you love your family- find a bit of time just for yourself - they’ll appreciate you more if you’re mentally rested and in a good mood
•Decompress after work- don’t jump into chores the moment you come back home- give yourself 15-20 minutes to rest
•Drink 2.5-3 litres of water a day. If you drink a glass of water every hour for 12 hours of your day it will nicely add up without you peeing like crazy;)
•Use broad spectrum sunscreen no matter what the weather is like and even during winter to keep youthful look and prevent age/liver/sun spots

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OLD FASHION CUPCAKE (2022, JAPAN)
A phenomenal series (way to short) from Japan. And with adults out of their teens and 20's
Togawa (KIMURA TATSUNARI) is tall, well built, smart and attractive and almost 30. He meets his soul mate in his almost 40 year old boss.
That boss is Nozue (TAKEDA KOUHEI) who is stuck in a rut, his life has become ordinary and scheduled. The same thing everyday.
Until Togawa sets Nozue on a different path an anti aging path beginning at a pancake Hotspot frequented by attractive young women.
Togawa has fallen completely for his boss and a confession filled with a seduction followed by tears as Togawa spills out his heart to Nozue.
One of 2022's STAND OUT BL'S FROM JAPAN.

I enjoy putting on makeup every morning.
I keep a skincare routine.
But I don’t let them take over my life.
I shouldn’t have to put on sunscreen in the dead of winter on Sadness Island, when the sun rises so late and sets so early that I get dressed in the dark, then walk home in the dark, just in case a single ray of light touches my skin and makes me look a single day older.
I shouldn’t have to buy retinol serum or a second concealer or skin laser or a silk pillowcase in the hope that if I throw enough money away on the right crap, I will become an unaging supermodel.
And when I grow old enough to consent to plastic surgery, I shouldn’t have to get injections and tucks and fillers that, just two decades ago, were considered only for the over-fifties or the excessively vain.
I shouldn’t have to live in fear of being anything other than perfect.

Anti aging culture is abelist
I don't get to grow old.
I can't afford that bullshit anyway.
I won't get to see my smile lines that prove I was a happy person.
I won't experience the gift of age.
I'll never get to look in the mirror in 70 years and see that I am alive and thriving.
I'd be beyond grateful to grow old.
Because it's more than some wrinkles. It's proof I survived.

I like to think I'm not a particularly vain creature, but I've been struggling recently with my face. I know I look fantastic for someone in her 30's. However, I am starting to get the faintest of laugh lines around my mouth and eyes and, especially when I smile in photographs, I'm noticing... a lot more lines. Which makes sense. Because I am aging. And objectively that is a good thing and I really would like to continue my crusade against the beauty industry etc. but the only reason I stopped wearing makeup on a daily basis was because I got eyeliner tattooed on so, clearly the beauty standards are entrenched. Anyway. I'm doing everything I can topical/skincare wise as well as internal/food-wise to treat my skin kindly. I know several female friends my age who started getting regular filler years back but I just...don't want to spend the money or take the risk and B is adamantly against anything been injected into my face, which is fair. I wouldn't want anyone to touch his beautiful laugh lines.
So, I've been researching: 1. At-home microneedling stamps like Qure (seems rollers aren't a good idea) 2. Light therapy like Omnilux 3. Microcurrent therapy like NuFace
Does anyone have experience with any of these (or other!) options for desperately clinging to visible youth without A. filler or B. spending a shit ton of money?
I feel like I'm in this awkward place where there's still hope of looking younger than I am. If I was two decades older with deep laugh lines and was past the point of no return that would just be...easier. Like I wouldn't feel as if I had to try so hard anymore, you know? I don't know. There are days that being a woman in society is exhausting because yeah fuck traditional western standards of beauty, but also...I want to feel pretty.

Are you ever afraid of getting old? And I don't mean it as in having wrinkles and white hair and saggy skin. I'm afraid of not understanding the world anymore, of being afraid of new ideas, of retracting in myself so much that I forget the important things in life, of being so disillusioned that I become hateful. I'm afraid of becoming a bigot, so I try to remind myself everyday how not to be one, what it means to live in an happy community, where everyone is loved and cared for, even old people that don't really fit in anymore
I guess you could call it my anti-aging routine.

I love how the anti aging movement is obsessed with all the superficial parts of aging.
Look man, getting old fucking blows. Especially if you face complications and become disabled. It's really hard to loose your life like that. I would know, I've seen it happen.
But that's not what they care about. they don't want you to exercise daily to prevent arthritis, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and blood clots. They don't want you to stop smoking so your teeth won't fall out and you won't get COPD. They aren't advocating for you to get your cancer screenings, to wear sunscreen and to drink in moderation.
No they just care about wrinkles and grey hair and sagging breasts. The things that will happen no matter what, whether you're a 80 year old trail runner or bed bound with late stage Alzheimer's.
Maybe my perception of aging has been skewed by working in Hospice. I don't know. But it's just so strange to me.

Achieving a Radiant Complexion: A Simple Nighttime Skincare Regimen
In our fast-paced lives, it's easy to overlook the significance of a proper nighttime skincare routine. However, dedicating a few minutes before bedtime can make a world of difference in achieving healthy, glowing skin. Let's delve into a straightforward nighttime skincare routine that will leave you feeling pampered and your skin revitalized!
Tumblr media
Cleanse: The First Step to Radiance
The foundation of any effective skincare routine is cleansing. Before heading to bed, ensure your face is free from makeup, dirt, and pollutants that have accumulated throughout the day. Opt for a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type. Gently massage it onto your face using circular motions, focusing on areas prone to oiliness or dryness. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to preserve essential oils.
Recommendations:
Aprilskin Carrotene IPMP™ Hydromelt Cleansing Balm
JUNO & Co. Clean 10 Cleansing Balm 10 Ingredients Makeup Remover
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Facial Cleanser
Exfoliate: Unveiling a Fresh Canvas
Exfoliation is essential but limit it to 2-3 times a week to avoid overdoing it. A gentle exfoliant will remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and enhance the absorption of your skincare products. Look for products with natural exfoliants like jojoba beads or alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs).
Recommendations:
SkinMedica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant - Exfoliator
Paulas Choice--SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA Liquid Salicylic Acid Exfoliant
Tone: Balancing the pH
After cleansing and exfoliating, toning comes into play. A toner helps balance the skin's pH levels and prepares it for better absorption of serums and moisturizers. Choose alcohol-free toners with soothing ingredients like rose water, chamomile, or witch hazel.
Recommendations:
PCA SKIN Nutrient Face Toner
THAYERS Alcohol-Free, Hydrating Lavender Witch Hazel Facial Toner
SOME BY MI AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner
Serum: Targeted Treatments
Serums are packed with potent ingredients that target specific skin concerns. Whether it's fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or dehydration, serums offer a concentrated boost of active ingredients. Gently apply a small amount to your face and neck, letting the serum work its magic overnight.
Recommendations:
COSRX Snail Mucin 96% Power Repairing Essence
Paula's Choice CLINICAL 1% Retinol Treatment
Derma ProGenix Advanced Anti-Aging Skin Care Serum
Eye Cream: Soothing and Refreshing
The delicate skin around the eyes requires special attention. Apply a nourishing eye cream to help reduce puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. Use your ring finger to dab a pea-sized amount around the orbital bone gently.
Recommendations:
IMAGE Skincare, VITAL C Hydrating Eye Recovery Gel
Dongyu 5% Caffeine Eye Serum and Under Eye Roller Cream
QOI Dark Circle Eliminator
Hydrate: Locking in Moisture
Moisturizing is crucial to keep your skin hydrated and plump. Select a night cream or moisturizer that suits your skin type, whether it's gel-based for oily skin or thicker for dry skin. Massage it into your skin using upward strokes to promote better circulation.
Recommendations:
COSRX Snail Mucin 92% Moisturizer
Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance
PCA SKIN Collagen Hydrator Night Cream
Lip Care: Soft and Supple Lips
Don't forget to show your lips some love! Apply a nourishing lip balm or treatment to keep your lips soft and supple throughout the night.
Recommendation:
LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask
Overnight Mask or Face Oil: Nourishing and Repairing
For an extra boost of nourishment, consider using an overnight mask or face oil. These products provide intense hydration and repair your skin as you sleep, waking up to a fresh and revitalized complexion.
Hands and Feet: Extending Skincare Love
If you have a few extra minutes, pamper your hands and feet as well. Moisturize them with a rich cream and put on cotton gloves and socks before sleep, allowing the products to deeply penetrate and hydrate the skin.
Recommendations:
Paula's Choice Radiance Renewal Night Mask
LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask
Beauty Sleep: The Ultimate Secret
Finally, the most essential part of any nighttime skincare routine is a good night's sleep. Aim for 7-9 hours of uninterrupted rest to give your skin and body the time they need to repair and rejuvenate.
Remember, Consistency is Key!
The true magic of any skincare routine lies in consistency. Don't expect overnight miracles; instead, practice this easy nighttime skincare routine regularly and patiently, and you'll soon notice a radiant and healthy complexion that makes the effort entirely worthwhile.
So, go ahead and treat yourself to a little nightly skincare ritual – your skin will thank you for it!
P.S Highlighted are my personal favs
