Still so mad at Marvel for teasing us with Clintasha, Romangers and WinterWidow and instead giving us Brutasha.
I hate that they’re going to make Yelena and Bucky a thing.

STOP.
Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders. Stand up.
Stare into the distance and think about Natasha in this shot as she knows that the lullaby is working and her Bruce is on his way back soon.

"they're 24 and talking about antis" ok but you're 21 and seem...very blasé about being accused of bullying someone out of a fandom?
idk if you were here for this but basicallyyy i made a jokey post about how i dislike the ship brutasha & this bruce banner rp blog responded to it so i look at their blog and i find that they characterized their bruce as this like boring cishet white guy who only dates white cis skinny women and i was like ohhh Wack & i pointed it out in the post. i didn’t bully them or ‘cancel’ them lmao it rlly wasn’t that deep (nor did it last for months like the callout post says LMAO) i just called them weird and kinda transphobic and racist for the things they said

You know what my favorite thing about canon is?
Absolutely nothing.
But the good thing is you can just pretend it doesn’t exist and no one can stop you.

I swear, every time I log into Tumblr and read certain things I feel some of my neurons dying.
- Self-cest. The most stupid word ever to describe Loki and Sylvie. Like, EVER. Let's see:
Self:
   · a person or thing referred to with respect to complete individuality
   · a person's essential being that distinguishes them from others.
And then:
   · Individual: a distinct, indivisible entity; a single thing, being, instance, or item.
Oh, look. Loki and Sylvie are two physically separate entities, so I guess for them to be the literal same they must have reproduced by fragmentation or something like that.
Like, I swear. Loki is not a freaking orchid, HE DOESN'T SELF-POLLINATE. The only time the stupid self-cest term may not be that stupid is for a Ragnarok!Loki/Show!Loki ship, because yes, they're the freaking same person just at different points in time.
- By the way, saying that Loki and Sylvie are the same people just because they share a name and a position in their respective timelines is fucking sad because you're taking a person, with all their complexity, and reducing them to their name and birth. As I said, sad.
- When some days ago I asked if Loki and Croki were also, well, the same person, someone literally told me this: "Also, loki is a shapeshifter and he once turned into a snake, pretty close to an alligator" implying that YES, THEY ARE.
*stares directly into camera*
So since Loki is right now "shapeshifting" as a man and a man's genetic code is super similar to... another man's, DOES THIS MEAN THAT LOKI AND M*BIUS ARE RELATED? ARE THEY THE SAME BEING? (stop being this ridiculous, pls. Just... stop)
- Let's not talk about the hypocrisy of a lot of L*okius shippers that have admitted that they would still ship them if M*bius ended up being a Loki variant, so this is not about Sylki being weird, but about it not being the kind of “weird” they like.
- I've read a lot of people comparing Sylki to badly developed MCU romances (like Sharon/Steve and Bruce/Natasha) and, pardon my French, but have we even watched the same fucking movies?
    · Bruce/Natasha. In Avengers she's TERRIFIED of him. Literally terrified. In AoU, somehow, they're kinda starting a relationship or thinking about starting one. We don't see it, it's off-camera, there's no development whatsoever. Whedon knew it, so he made other characters say a couple of lines, here and there, to support this relationship. Natasha was given the job of singing Hulk a lullaby to calm him down (perpetuating gender stereotypes, but that is Joss the Asshole for you).
    · Sharon/Steve. There's nothing to talk about here. They had no spark, no connection, no romantic chemistry, nothing. They were just two job partners who ended up kissing.
Comparing these two relationships to Sylki just makes no sense.
- Representation. While I'm painfully aware that there's a big, worrying lack of representation in Marvel/Disney, it strikes me as funny that the representation a lot of people ALWAYS ask for is two gay men. I've read a total of zero (0) people saying "Damn, I would have loved to get an f/f ship for Sylvie". Or "I would have loved [insert character name here] to be ace"
*crickets chirping*
Yes, no suspicious whatsoever /sarcasm
- TLDR: ship whatever the fuck you want. Respect people who don't ship the same couple like you. DON'T BE A FUCKING BULLY AND DON'T HARASS THE CAST AND CREW. As someone who has shipped a lot of non-canon ships, let me tell you this: YOU'RE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING. YOU’LL BE HAPPIER IF YOU STOP THINKING THAT. Ship and let ship. Enjoy your ship and don't piss on others.
If you agree with me, nice. If you don't, nice. Just so you know, I'm not debating with you.

Why should Sylkie and Lokius shippers even fight at all when there's Sylokius to ship instead?
I am not saying that Sylkie and Lokius shippers should fight.
I don't think anyone should ever fight.
But a lot of people are acting as if Sylkie is the worst thing on the planet, when they were pretty okay with Thor*i all these years. Sylkie is literally not problematic when you read about Loki in norse mythology. Most people just want to fetishsize gay men.
EDIT- Someone made a very good point about how Sylkie was thrown in the viewers’ face since the 3rd episode when they first interacted and she tried to enchant him by touching his neck. So maybe people should stop pretending that it was a surprise or it was sprung on them.
I know Marvel Queerbaits, and a lot. I know that sucks but there is nothing I can do about it. But hating on a director, writers who have actually done a commendable job with the character because a ship that they want to be canon but isn't, is stupid. It always has been.
Not going to lie, I like Sylokius. It sounds fun. And the few posts I have found about them were amazing.
Also, I like both Lokius and Sylkie, so either way I win. And if they don't go with either of them, because I believe Tom will probably not return for a season 2, I don't feel so strongly that it makes me mad.
The only MCU ship that has ever made me mad was Bruta**a. After Cap:TWS, it made perfect sense to go for Romanogers or no romantic pairing at all.
Anyway, this went really long. Sorry about that. You are my first Ask by the way. Thanks.

Oh yea I just want everyone to know that:
I don't fuck with Brutasha, I don't like Wanda Maximoff and I don't care about the sudden Barton family for Hawkeye.
So I do not consider Age Of Ultron canon. Unless I use the material for some debates or character analysis but in general, none of those events happened. Including Wanda's existence.
Thor: Ragnorak never happened. Thor's renewed personality, however, I choose to accept. But everything else, meh. Watched that movie once, never happening again :)
Infinity War never happened so Loki is still alive in the original timelines. Idgaf.
Endgame never happe—
Ok to make things short, everything after Captain America: The Winter Soldier didn't happen. Because that's when things were just not in my favour. And you ain't gonna find anything post that movie in my fanon. Well, Doctor Strange is a very respected movie of mine so that's the exception.
Tumblr media
And Yelena and Natasha don't see each other as sisters. Yelena and Clint are Natasha's home. The Avengers are not her family since they never once gave a shit about her. So there's no "tHiS JoB, tHiS fAmiLY" shit that's praised here. Ok those movies I choose to reject as canon are actually good movies, they just not in the favours of my comfort characters so... fuck 'em.

Natasha Romanoff had so many ships that had actual chemistry. She was literally shipped with every single Avenger, starting with Steve Rogers until Scarlet Witch.
And still, the writers managed to make the ship canon that had the least chemistry. Brutasha.
I'm not saying that this ship is awful – it's just bad writing. Marvel should have shown us how they began to trust each other and how it really started. When I watched the movie for the first time Brutasha felt forced like they just wanted that the fans stop complaining about Romanogers/Clintasha. Least to say that the Russos just erased Brutasha in Infinity War, making it even more uncomfortable to watch.

I'm thinking back to my days when I was fully in the marvel fandom and being anti bruce//nat (even if I did admit the hatedom is overblown). I know at this point hating on it is a dead horse, but I still think it's one of the worst ships I've seen, even more than st@rco.
Don't get me wrong, st@rco is poorly written as well but at least I admit Star and Marco do have good chemistry and there were some genuine good moments together. If the writing didn't shoot itself in the foot later on, it could have been a decent ship.
Bruce//nat shot itself in the foot the moment it introduced itself. I've tried to get into it, even when it was getting a huge amount of hate, but between the rushed writing, character derailment, the shoehorned moments (like the lullaby and Nat's infertility), and the way Nat treats Bruce, it just did not work.
Kinda glad they didn't do much with it later on. If they couldn't care about making it work, why should I care?

that scene where bruce goes "you know who helped me?" and thor's like "idk man, natasha?" and bruce is like "it was you, you helped me" is just so pure.

i think i remember hearing this somewhere but here are some of my mcu opinions:
quicksilvers death was unnecessary(AoU)
brutasha felt forced(AoU)
clints family was just there to give clint a reason to fight(AoU)
both civil war teams raised good points(still team iron man tho)
steves ending ruined the character arc(EG)
still miss iron man rip
Clint shouldve died(EG)
steve shouldve told tony(CW)
tony shouldve brought back up to the bunker(CW)
didnt bruce also work on ultron? and didnt scarlett witch+quicksilver work for ultron in the beginning of the movie? why does all the blame get put on tony?(AoU)
stephen strange and scarlett witch should get a series
bucky barnes is baller asf
we shouldve gotten a bucky barnes/natasha series or at least glimpses of them in the red room
