Fun fact: if there's a situation where you don't have a legal right to use violence to stop someone physically harming you, then the law believes that in that situation that person has a right to hurt you.

I am fucking pissed and anyone who heard the news about Willow will know why. Went from bury your gays to cancel them reaaaall fast. First Warrior Nun, then Willow. I'm dead serious when I say we need to fucking riot about this. I joke about this all the time but honestly I'm so fucking DONE with gay erasure in media. We deserve to have representation even if you don't like it. We deserve to be able to see ourselves in the media we watch even if you hate us for it. You know what? Here's a thought, if you don't like gay people, leave them alone. Stop erasing them from history and culture. It's pretty damn simple. You don't agree with something? Don't fucking associate with it. It's not 'pushing our agenda' or 'shoving it in your faces', you fucking hypocrites, it's fighting to have a chance at being known in a positive light, fighting to show queer children that they DON'T deserve what people say they do. Hell, apply this to any of the world's problems. Racism, Sexism, religious or ethnic differences, political differences, etc (All things lead pretty commonly to GENOCIDES, by the way, including the topic of this post). If you don't agree with something then LET IT BE. You don't have to like it or agree with it, but it's pretty damn simple to not kill, harm, objectify, slander, or erase them. Yeah, I'm aware I'm talking about a fantasy TV show, but at this point it's cancellation is so much bigger than that. It's about human rights, and it's not fair to us that we can't be seen or heard or taken seriously in any situation without people shutting us down and politicizing us. Also, don't tell me it's because the show didn't do well. We all know that's bullshit.
The people who keep mentioning that an immigrant carried out the stabbings yesterday aren't mentioning that it was a Brazilian Deliveroo driver, Caio Benicio, that put his life at risk to step in and stop the attacker.
The idea that the Christians were some sort of persecuted minority in the Roman empire is so commonly taught in history, but when you look at actual early Christian beliefs things seem a lot diffrent.
Like, Christians were a highly reactionary and militant religious group that wanted to force a relatively diverse society to follow its extremely strict and conservative moral values. They were known to engage in destructive praxis, and had a strong cult of martyrdom that's an undercurrent of every facist movment. They were a religious minority, but they weren't one that just wanted to practice on their own, they were a rapidly spreading reactionary movement with incredibly conservative values they wanted to push on society.
So don't view Roman citizens trying to keep Christianity out of their society as the ignorant and hateful mob you're often taught about them being, think of them a bit more like we view people trying to keep nazis out of their communities today.
As for the Roman government attack Christians I view it with the same skepticism I view any government trying to attack reactionaries. It's never a good path for a state to go down, even when the ideas they're attacking are awful. And like most governments that start attacking reactionaries, they eventually embrace and enforce those reactionary ideas.
There are folkes who will never let a body live down their sordid past. They will always see someone as who they used to be, regardless of who they are and how hard they've worked to change. Don't let their judgement weigh you down. Do the thing that brings joy. Work the crafts which inspire. Stand up for the things you know are right. Don't let them tell you that you will always be the villain.
