Wait has Bucky actualy ever done anything bad? He was kicking asses of bullies who attacked Steve, he joined the army, fought nazis, after finaly escaping Hydra he tried to live peaceful life, then he lived one in Wakanda and in the series, he also hasnt done anything villany. So why did Kevin dumb Feige say that he isnt exactly heroic?!

I mean I might say I’m a fan of the MCU, but really I’m a fan of the version where characters and their arcs are written by people passionate about them instead of by a soulless, corrupt corporation looking to make a quick buck.

Getting Rid of the Sokovia Accords
In the DisneyPlus streaming series, “SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW”, the MCU finally got rid of the problematic Sokovia Accords when attorney Matt Murdock aka Daredevil revealed the Accords had finally been repealed.  Considering my six-year criticism of how the MCU had introduced this legislation in “CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR” (one of my least favorite MCU films), utilized it in productions like “AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.”, “ANT-MAN & THE WASP”, “THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR”, “WANDAVISION” and “THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER”; I was very happy to learn this about the Accords’ fate.
However . . . I find myself questioning Disney and Marvel Films’ latest decision regarding the Sokovia Accords.  I have problems with its repeal or eradication.  I have a problem with how Disney/Marvel Films got rid of it - via a throwaway line.  For years, MCU showrunner Kevin Feige tried to tell us that there were two sides to the Sokovia Accords.  I had called bullshit to that idea due to my belief that the Accords violated the U.S. Constitutional and the constitutional rights of enhanced people overall and not just the Avengers.
I had hoped that the MCU would get rid of the Accords by exploring the issue of how the Accords violated the rights of many.  But the franchise never did this.  Instead, the MCU rid itself of the Accords with a quick line - one that would enable the franchise to avoid discussing how WRONG the Accords were in the first place.  All I can say is . . . Feige and the Disney suits are a bunch of cowards.

Fair warning, I am absolutely going to gatekeep Jane Foster. I was fine when Wanda gained such a huge fanbase post-WandaVision because she was so underserved by the plot before, so having been a fan since 2014/15 (whenever they announced the twins being in AoU and we started getting behind-the-scenes promo) it’s great to see her being so popular now. It’s just people seeing how awesome she’s been all along. But no, you do not get to come in and say you love Jane now that she’s Thor/has powers if you’re also a person who has ignored her existence for years or said that she’s boring and useless and “not Thor’s equal” because she can’t fight.
This includes Feige and Waititi and their stupid sexist comments, women (or any people!) don’t have to be physical fighters to be badass. Jane has been badass and amazing the entire time because she’s an astrophysicist and loves science and is endlessly curious. Those are the traits that A. got her a Nobel prize, B. let her help save the world with science, C. are the reasons Thor fell in love with her in the first place.
I absolutely love Jane as Thor in comics, but the reason she’s so incredible is not because she fights her enemies with the powers of a god, but because she does that while being human. That is quite literally the entire point of her story.

Mcu really be out there celebrating how "feminist" they are when their female character went from unnecessarily sexulized and underwritten who did most of the emotional labor to... badly written

Comic storytelling like every type of art is valid. And it's same with comic book adaptations too. But when people who make them actually don't want to express something but just want to make money then it's not art but just bastardisation of it.
This is applies to both comics and movie adaptations just it's fucking worse with MCU like all of this for making money for a corporation that already have too much and it's not even a original idea. At least comics have still some artist and writers who actually create some kind of art even you can clearly see how it gets influenced because of money.
Tumblr media
Capitalism hollows out everything it ever touches, it sucks soul and sincerity out of it. Like yeah he is saying same things here but no not because of same reasons. He is saying this because it brings him good PR and good PR means more money. Every action they do for this movies is related to how much it brings them money. They add lgbt characters and minorities because it brings more money. They censor lgbt characters and minorities because it brings more money. They fix their mistakes because it will make more money in this way and they ignore their problems because fixing them cost money. They add emotions and themes to stories because it makes money. They make it blandest shit ever because it makes money. They go experimental because of money. They become comic accurate because money.
It's not about art and it's problems anymore it just about money; criticising MCU as a art form, complaining about storytelling problems means literally nothing. How I can say your art is valid when it's not even art but just greed hidden as art? Parasite.

So I made the mistake of stumbling onto the NOT STEVE ROGERS FRIENDLY tag today and..
Tumblr media
You have to be a special type of delusional to be this obsessed with a character you don't like!??
Over 2k fics have the tag and are almost entirely Tony Stark-centered fics. I'm assuming these are the "fans" who totally buy into the MCU canon and don't know any other Captain America lore outside of what Feige and Whedon have done. Or, they're the "fans" who refuse to understand the politics behind Steve's character and how he was inherently undermined throughout the entire ten years of the MCU by the directors and writers for most of the films.
Because the arguments in most of these fics for being "not Steve rogers friendly" are really surface level shit like:
1) "Steve refused to sign the Accords and broke up the Avengers" (he was right & he didn't break them up, an overemotional Tony did when he refused to listen to Bucky's side of the story).
2) Steve fought Tony and almost killed him (yeah, like Tony didn't blast Bucky's arm off and shoot his repulsor rays directly at Steve).
3)Steve is homophobic (y'all are just making up reasons to hate this man atp)
4)Steve is racist (Steve hated racists & you'd know that if you read the comics, or you guys are just that deluded that you're making Steve racist & trying to project it as canon and therefore a "reasonable" explanation as to why you hate him)
5)Blaming Steve for Rhodey's accident (WHICH WAS TEAM TONY'S FAULT!)
6)YALL, THEY MADE STEVE THE BAD GUY IN A BROCK RUMLOW/BUCKY FIC! I stg I cannot make this shit up💀 Steve's bad for wanting Bucky to be Bucky again, but somehow Brock's the good guy for wanting Bucky to be the Soldier...
Steve left Bucky for Peggy (we'll get to this soon)
There's a hundred more irrational reasons for the Steve Rogers hate, but let me get to the WORST part.
THERE ARE BUCKY STANS WHO ARE ANTI-STEVE ROGERS.
And I'm sorry, no. I don't accept that you love Bucky Barnes but hate the one person he loves the most in the world.
They argued in a couple fics that "Bucky also went rogue after Siberia but he didn't want to associate with Steve, Nat & the rest of the team- WHO HELPED RESCUE BUCKY & EVENTUALLY EXONERATE HIM- but rather, he went off on his own & eventually Tony finds him, they hash it out and become friends to lovers."
Helppp???? Wdym Bucky isn't gonna stick with the one man he's been keeping diaries about to try and get back his memories? But he'll go to the one guy that re-traumatized him by blowing out his arm again?
Not only that, but Bucky absolutely hates Steve in some of these fics and the reason will be, "he left Bucky to go back to Peggy." Like, you cannot be a serious fan if you're still going with the Endgame canon. For a majority of us, we recognize Endgame as being nothing but terrible writing and mischaracterizations. Why are yall not analyzing and interpreting media critically? The MCU has never been on Steve's side and have always diminished his character in an attempt to make Tony the ultimate hero of the OG 6. Don't yall know the discourse? It's embarrassing atp.
And this is my stance on the entire thing: there's nothing wrong with writing fics about characters you don't necessarily like or aren't interested in. It's OKAY if you don't like Steve Rogers- but you've gotta be rational about him, instead of hateful. Most, if not all of these "anti-steve" fics are written in bad faith. Bad understanding of the character and pure, shameless mischaracterizations which just makes these types of fics fickle and weak- hilarious to read though cos that Brock one had me deadddd😭💀.

Unpopular Opinion:  “ANT-MAN AND THE WASP:  QUANTUMANIA”
Tumblr media
I never saw “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in the movie theaters last February.  I’m watching it on DisneyPlus instead.   After viewing it, I wish I had seen it in the theaters.  It’s not a bad movie.  In fact . . . I think it’s pretty good.  Yes, it has some flaws.  What movie doesn’t?  But I think it’s a lot better than the second film in the franchise, 2018′s “Ant-Man and the Wasp”.  Why on earth did Kevin Feige release this movie in February, instead of mid-to-late July, which is the usual release slot for the Ant-Man movies?
