“Can’t believe you’re not picking up your phone right now. Really selfish of you. What if I was dying in the street and you didn’t know because you ignored my call? What then, huh? Your poor boyfriend just wants to talk to you but I guess you hate me now.”
You chuckle at the sound of your Mingyu’s scolding. Always one for dramatics, that one. Toweling off your hair, you move to tidy the discarded packaging from the decorations you spent hanging all afternoon. Mingyu’s voicemail plays through the speaker of your phone on the counter as you work to clean up before people start arriving.
“Anyways! I picked up the cake for the party tonight, and some more snacks and beer just in case. The lady at the bakery said the cake took her all morning because the picture I sent of Jihyo kept making her laugh. Hate to say it but I think you have some competition. I can already see us getting married and being her sugar baby.”
Everytime an old lady even compliments Mingyu he tells you to watch your back because they want to steal him from you. Your eyes roll at his comments but they humor you nonetheless.
“She’s nowhere near as pretty as you though, so she's gonna need to step up her game. Alright, I’m gonna stop at my place to shower and grab some clothes and then I’ll head your way. Text me if I need to get anything else on my way, okay? Love you, bye!”
You freeze, plastic bags and towel dropping to the floor with a wet thud.
“Shit.”
You hear his faint curse through the speaker as the voicemail ends.
Heart squeezing as you replay his words over and over, you plop down on your butt to the hard wooden floor. Love you, bye! Love you, love you, love…
He loves me.
Oh boy.
The new information is magical, twisting your insides in knots as you think of all the times you’ve wanted to say those very words you’ve buried in your chest over and over. The times he makes you laugh so hard you think you might pee your pants, his own giggles pulling him to the ground; when he cleaned out space in his dresser for your stuff, buying duplicates of your toiletries so you could come over whenever you wanted and feel at home; when your car broke down on the side of the road and he came to pick you up, racing across town in the dark of night to get you; when Wonwoo told you he’d never seen Mingyu so happy since you’d started dating; the time he cried when Seungcheol recited his vows to his now wife; how he always pulls a extra mug out of the cabinet when he makes his morning coffee, leaving it next to the machine with a sweet note for when you get up.
I love him.
Oh boy, indeed.
Standing, you grab your phone from the counter. Mingyu called almost an hour ago meaning he will be at your apartment any second. You use the few minutes you have left to calm your breathing, praying your hands stop shaking and the blush you feel dissipates as you open the freezer and pludge your face into the cold air.
A clunky knock at the door startles you. Sprinting to unlock it, you nearly fly face first into the door knob in your haste.
On the other side is your boyfriend, thick waves of stress palpable as they roll off his body. Mingyu’s hands are full with groceries so you snag the cake, planting a quick kiss on his chin in greeting.
“Hi,” he mumbles, fear evident on his face.
“Hi!” You beam, dazzling smile thrown over your shoulder as you walk back toward the kitchen.
“Ugh, did you get my message?”
Mingyu pauses to kick off his shoes by the door, nervousness firing through every fiber of his being. He meant what he said on the phone, but you've only been dating for a few months and he doesn’t want to mess anything up by being over eager. Correction: he can’t mess this up; he’s certain the heartbreak would kill him.
Mingyu prides himself on all the times he’s reigned in those three little words from slipping past his lips. Whenever he’s drunk and sees you smile, whenever he’s sober and sees you smile; when you cried about your shitty boss; when he cried at Seungcheol’s wedding, imagination running rampent; every morning when he wakes up next to you and every night before falling asleep in the same place; when you took care of him when he had the flu a few weeks ago; the first time he saw the new toothbrush you bought him to keep at your place, sitting in the cup on bathroom sink right next to yours. The list is endless.
He can’t help that he’s built to love so deeply; his friends, his family, all of the important people in his life have their own space carved in his heart including you. Even before you started dating he cared for you. Your name has been branded in his chest since day one and inferno has only grown as his fondness expands with each moment.
“Yeah, I did. Sorry I missed your call, I was in the shower.”
“It's okay! I just know you like to be kept updated.”
After placing Jihyo’s birthday cake safely in the fridge, you turn to face your boyfriend. He looks like he might actually throw up, hands shaking as he unpacks the bags he’s brought in and eyes refusing to look in your direction. You can tell Mingyu is watching you out of his peripheral, waiting for you to comment on his confession with bated breath.
You stride around the kitchen island to stand next to him, helping sort the different treats he bought in silence. The juxtaposition between you two is almost laughable. You’re all shy smiles and flushed cheeks, unable to control the wild thump of your heart; while Mingyu looks like he might sprint out the door and into traffic at the drop of a hat.
Once all the bags are discarded, food lining the counter to be prepped, you turn to rest your back against the edge of the cool marble, your soft gaze focuses on his face. Arms crossing in front of you, you watch as he pretends to be busy to avoid meeting your eyes.
“I love you too.” You confess shyly, sides of your mouth quirking upwards.
Mingyu’s head shoots up so fast you’re afraid he might give himself whiplash. All you can do is smile demurely, embarrassed by the way he stares at you with wide eyes and an open mouth.
“Really?”
Biting your lip to control the grin attempting to split your face in half, you nod gently.
Next thing you know you’re consumed in a tight embrace, squashed into his chest as he squeezes you so hard you might explode. The smell of his cologne and laundry detergent waft of his shirt, soothing your own nerves as you relax in his hold. You can hear his heart racing in his chest, thundering below your ear; your own echoing in response.
“Say it again.” Mingyu sighs into your hair.
You can’t help but laugh.
“I love you.”
“Oh my god.” He gasps.
“Say it back.” you pout, chin digging into his pec as you peer up at him.
For a second, all Mingyu can do is stare at you, face soft with emotion, eyes cataloging your features. In his wildest dreams, he never thought he’d be fortunate enough to feel this way about another person. How lucky is he that the person he loves loves him too?
“I love you. I love you. I love you.” He says, hands moving to cup your face as he emphasizes a different word with each repetition, tip of his nose rubbing against the side of your own.
“Baby, are you crying?”
“I can’t help it! I love you! And you love me!” He wails, pushing his face into your cheek. “I think I’m gonna faint.”
“Aww, Gyu!” You coo, turning your head to kiss away his tears as they fall.
Mingyu catches your lips with his, needing to show you how much he cares for you rather than just tell you.
But one more time doesn’t hurt.
“I love you.”

PART 2
---
The night club was jam packed this Saturday night. You recognize some charting rap song blasting through the bass-boosted speakers, blurring out the sounds of people around you. The clubs in the central area had no motivation in making a good mix for the night, rather re-using anything that could be considered loud and sexual enough.
At least the bass is alright here you thought as your eyes scan over the crowded dance floor from a balcony on the second floor. Some nights you felt like a hawk hunting for prey. Your eyes had been trained to see through the sharp strobing lights which helped you speed things up.
There were often times you wondered what name to put to your career. Some people from your past would scream conwoman…
Your eyes scan the gray and black newspaper as a small smirk spreads over your lips.
“Young woman conned man out of half a million dollars, read page five”
You quickly flip the light pages of the newspaper before landing on the page where you were met with the pathetic face of the said man. Asshole, he was the one who offered you the money anyway. That job was way too easy. He only went crying about being conned after his poor wife had received the anonymous message from you to her phone;
Anonymous: This is how much your husband loves you *image*.
You admit, that move was a little too asshole-ish even for you. Usually you would keep out of your target’s private life but it was simply sweet karma after hearing the bastard speak degradingly of his wife who had fallen ill and been hospitalized. The audacity men have. Damn you could even say you took some pity on her. That’s how you justified sending the video of him on his knees in front of you, worshiping you as if you are some greek goddess.
Anytime now…you thought and the loud chime of your phone ran through the luxurious hotel room just a few seconds later. You smirk and reach over to answer.
“Hey there sweetheart” you tease, holding the phone up to your ear as your eyes wander over the artwork hanging on the walls in the room. Many of them portrayed naked lovers, making you roll your eyes at the stereotypical art. You don’t even flinch as a loud voice curses you on the other side.
“I will kill you, you fucking bitch. You ruined my marriage- my career! I trusted a fucking conwoman” the older man that had so unfourtnarely been your previous target, curses in disbelief.
The words didn’t affect you anymore, hell you were in the luxurious hotel room thanks to his money to begin with, he could curse you all he wanted.
“Well, learn not to fuck women other than your wife, though I doubt she will let you near her again” you replied with a dry chukle, hanging up to block the number. Time to change phones…
Other times people recognized you simply as a tactful business woman who occasionally used men for money. You usually prefer this title anyway.
LUX, which was the name of the club you had settled on for tonight, was one of your favorites. It has beautiful architecture with many well-built bars spanning over three different levels, but that was not why you liked it so much. Neither did you really care about the club’s entertainment which consisted of half-naked girls dancing on poles spread around the first floor.
The reason LUX was your favorite was rather obvious. Anybody who entered, either had straight connections to the owner or was packed with millions. Both of those options ultimately meant that most men in attendance could give you what you were looking for; money.
Hongjoong, the owner of the place, allowed you to do business in the club in exchange for a friendly percentage. While you normally shrink away at the idea of sharing your profits, you have to remind yourself that without him you wouldn't even have access to a place like LUX.
After what felt like hours, you spot a man sitting alone on a bar stool on the first floor. White button down shirt, a golden watch on his left wrist that reflected off the strobing lights and a half empty drink. Perfect.
Time to act. You make your way down the spiraling staircase that connects the three floors at LUX. You feel the blood being squeezed out of your feet thanks to the tight high heels you wore. They were at least a size too small, but you were determined to show off the fancy brand in hopes of catching attention. You suck it up and soften your mischievous expression into a softer, more innocent look. Men and their pathetic instinct to act as protective heroes.
You make your way over to the first-floor bar, not too close to the target you had picked out. Only a few seats were taken by the counter, most people having found a dance partner for tonight.
It was obvious when people turned their heads as you walked past and you had to keep yourself from smirking at the fact. At least with the act you were putting on.
You lean over the bar right to the side of the man who was sitting by himself, looking around as if trying to look for the bartender who was not present. Sighing dramatically, you look over at the man only to find he had acknowledged your presence.
With pouty lips and knitted eyebrows you wait for him to give you a friendly smile before moving closer.
“Excuse me, would you happen to have a phone charger? My friend left me here on my own and my phone has run out of battery” you offer a crooked smile, hoping he’d fall right in your trap.
Up-close, your target looked to be in his late thirties. This category was either a hit or miss. Some were too aware of your antics from earlier experiences, some totally oblivious.
The man ran a hand through his slicked back, brown hair, dimples popping as he smiled and leaned closer to yell over the blasting music.
“I don’t, but you could borrow my phone?” he suggested and you rolled your eyes in your head. You were rather impatient tonight, your last payment had been longer than two months ago and your savings account was drying out.
“Oh, I can’t remember the number though and she has my purse too- oh lord how will I get home?” You sound alarmed, acting panicked as you start glancing around the room, fingers intertwining as you fiddle in front or your victim who frowned with worry.
“Look dear, maybe I could just call you a taxi back home? And tomorrow you could meet up with your friend?” The stranger suggests. His intentions were nice for sure, but he didn’t seem to glance down at your red dress even once since you approached him.
“Would you do that? You are-” you begin with an innocent smile before somebody steps closer to you, shifting to stand between you and the stranger.
“-I’m back. Ready to go, pretty?” the voice makes you freeze. You clench your jaw to keep composure and not lose your shit in front of the whole club. The voice laced with honey belonged to someone you were more than familiar with.
You look up and lock eyes with him. Jung Wooyoung.
Wooyoung, who’s jet black hair now was dyed a shade of platinum blonde, looks down at you with his plump lips lifted into a signature smirk. He was well aware of what he had just done, and undoubtedly took great pride in interrupting your attempts at his target.
You offer him a tight-lipped smile, lacing it with spite that you were certain he could feel even if telepathy wasn’t a thing.
The man to your side stands up from his seat and smiles shyly, looking down at you as he hovers tall.
Pick somebody your height, asshole, you mutter in your head, wishing that Wooyoung would somehow hear it.
“I am afraid I have to leave, good luck getting home darling” the man comments politely as Wooyoung wraps an arm around the man’s waist. The men walk off towards the staircase and you could only imagine Wooyoung had the third floor full of private VIP rooms in mind.
Before disappearing out of your sight, Wooyoung glances over his shoulder at you with a mischievous smirk, shooting you a wink. You cock an eyebrow at him before flipping him off, middle finger adorned by the diamond your last target had been fooled into buying. It was always a game of show off between people who did what you did. And Wooyoung was one undoubtedly one of the best, to your dismay.
You take a seat on the barstool, slouching over as you decide to give up for the night. Truth be told, you were getting tired of this business. Having sleazy and naive men give you money was one thing, but entertaining them had slowly been eating away at your nerves and patience over the past year.
While the benefits of a successful job looked extravagant to anybody on the outside, the endless nights of guilt and feeling dirty after a job was not something one can ever be prepared for.
“The usual, bullet?” the bartender snaps you out of your thoughts by calling your nickname. You made sure that nobody ever found out your true identity. Switching names, ID’s and phones often to ensure the feds always were a step behind you.
You smile bitterly at the bartender and nod. It was alright, you thought. The weekend wasn’t over just yet.
~
The following night you are bending closer to the mirror as you trace the tip of a red lipstick over your lips as a finishing touch for tonight’s look. You made sure to switch up dresses, not wanting to risk being seen in the previous night’s outfit. The high heels from yesterday were switched for chunkier thigh-high boots, which complimented your black dress.
The dress in question was what one could call a lucky charm. You have been able to secure many deals whenever wearing it, hence why you created the belief that it would somehow make you luckier and keep you safe. Whatever the science behind such beliefs was, you just needed something to keep adding fuel to your hopes for the night. Tonight was Sunday, the last day of the weekend and your last chance of the week to secure a deal that would ensure stability for the upcoming future.
Honestly, you did not really give a shit about how you’d end up surviving a month without a deal. You could crash at an acquaintance's place. Or get some quick cash by selling a designer bag or two. But as your eyes meet a pair of soft, brown ones staring right at you through the full-body mirror, you are suddenly reminded of the reason why you keep trying.
You turn around, eyes landing on the young boy sitting at the edge of the hotel-room bed. The child was watching you get ready in silence, never interrupting or questioning what for.
“Y/n, do you really have to leave tonight too?” Jisung mumbles, looking down at his chubby fingers as they impatiently roll and fiddle over one another. You stay silent, gaze shifting to notice how he was growing nervous by the way his feet swung and hit the edge of the bed or the way his lips twisted outwards into a pout.
With a sigh, you take a seat beside him on the soft bed. Your hand reaches to grab his smaller one, squeezing it in reassurance. Although Jisung had just turned six, he was a lot smarter than most kids his age. He knew that the life you both lived was not ideal and he was humble and never took things for granted when you managed to bring in a lot of money.
You remembered how tiny he was when your sister first brought him over. She had taken something again, you weren’t sure what but her addiction seemed to grow stronger. The excuses of being busy or tired and needing help taking care of her only son, Jisung, only rolled in as soon as she had gotten a glance of you being responsible enough to take care of him. You were barely an adult when that happened, having to take care of a child throughout your late teens was not something you desired either. Shivers still run down your spine when you remember the night Jisung was to move in with you.
“Auntie? Can you please come get me? Mommy is scaring me” a tiny, familiar voice whispers. You were barely awake, eyes stinging as you lifted your phone from your ear, the bright screen blinding your sleepy eyes. You weren’t sure if you were dreaming still, your body engulfed by the warm and heavy blanket in your bed.
“H-hello?” Jisung whispered again and you finally realized that it was no dream. You were on a call.
You glance over to your night stand, the time reading 1:22AM and you wonder why Jisung was awake at such a time. And most importantly, how did he manage to call you using your sister’s phone?
“Hey buddy, what happened? What is mommy doing?” you ask gently, trying to mask your scratchy morning voice to not scare him further. Truth be told, as soon as the words “mommy” left his lips you could guess what this would be about, but you surely were not prepared for it to be as severe as it ended up being.
“Mommy is- mommy said she has to free me. She said I could meet daddy in heaven if I let her” he whispers, as if the call to you was a secret. As if he was hiding. “-And I wanna see daddy but mommy has a knife and I remember auntie said I can’t touch a knife” although he stumbled over his words and grammar, you did not need any clarification. You sit up in bed, throwing the covers off your body with such force that they end up on the floor. Never in your life had your heart dropped through your whole body so fast and ended down at your heels. It was as if a shock wave went through your body, sliding a heavy brick over your chest until you couldn't breathe properly. She had really gone insane now.
“Listen to auntie, baby. Where are you right now?” you ask as you reach for any clothing that could cover your body, never even sparing the pieces of fabric a glance as you rush to pull them onto your body.
“The toilet-” he mumbles but his voice is cut off by a gasp as you hear noises over the phone. Loud thuds make Jisung cry out and for a second you thought there was no way you would make it in time to see your nephew again.
“Lock the door baby, auntie is on her way, okay? Don’t hang up the phone” you command, leaving your dark bedroom, mind awake but body sloppily moving from exhaustion as you fumble with the stubborn lock to your apartment.
You weren’t sure how to get to your sister’s place. It was a twenty-minute car ride away and at this time no taxis were out by the worn-down neighborhood you had been living in for the time being. That is how you committed your first crime, legally speaking. Your eyes catch the tall street lamps shining straight down onto a row of bicycles, all alined perfectly and strapped to a metal bicycle stand. If that wasn’t a sign from the universe, you weren't sure what was. No guilt was ever felt as your eyes landed on a bicycle with a missing lock. It was way too tall for your body, the seat reaching way past your torso. But you were determined, you had to leave now and it wasn’t like you were stealing because you wanted to. You'd return it as soon as you’d be back, with your nephew.
“Auntie is coming, I’m coming to get you. Don’t open the door until I’m there” you breathe heavily, throwing your phone into the basket attached to the front of the steering handles as your feet push off the uneven ground to gain momentum and get the wheels spinning. You barely reach the pedals when you sit down on the bicycle seat, legs long enough so that your toes could push the pedals and keep rolling down the poorly-lit streets. Your lungs burned as you kept pushing your legs to work the pedals quicker. You could make out some sounds coming from the speaker on your phone as Jisung asked how much longer you’d be.
“Almost there, auntie is almost there baby” you yell, hoping he’d hear you even when harsh wind hit you as you turned and navigated the night to your sister’s house.
“Y/n?” Jisung’s voice cuts in, pushing the flashback back into the depths of your brain. You blink quickly and look over at him, meeting his gaze as he stares right at you with his questioning eyes. Jisung looked a lot like your sister, round shiny eyes and healthy curly hair, both colored by a combination of auburn brown. Yet he was very different from her. He was mature for his age, but also very sensitive and caring. He had experienced things he really shouldn’t have and you sometimes worry about the effects it could have on his future.
“Sorry buddy, I zoned out” you chuckle, playing it off as a goofy smile spread over your lips. You reach up and mess up his curls to get a high-pitched giggle out of him.
“You know that I have to work. But I promise to be back as soon as I can. I'll even bring you a burger” you raise a knowing brow at your nephew who’s lips now part slightly at your promise. Of course he’d be sold at the mention of a burger. You shake your head in disbelief.
“Now tell me the rules one more time” you tell him as you stand up from the bed, grabbing a small crossbody bag to hang it over your shoulder. This was routine every time you went out and left him all by himself. Something nibbles at your heart when you realize just how lonely Jisung must  feel while you're gone, but you convince yourself you were doing it with his best interest in mind. And since you were leaving him all alone in a hotel, he may as well learn to stay safe.
“Don’t leave the room. Don’t open the door, even for staff and if they ask why I’m alone, I say my parents are out for dinner. Call you only in emergencies. Call the police in serious danger-” he lists the rules one by one, holding up his chubby fingers to help him hold count. You nod in affirmation. “Well done. Now be good, I will be home before you even know it” you lean over to place a kiss to Jisung’s forehead, stealing one last glance at the boy as he watches you leave with a small pout on his lips.
~
Sunday’s were not half as busy as Saturdays. The line of people outside was barely stretching down the sidewalk when it usually went all the way around the street. You make your way to the front of the line, never facing the people who vocally complain about you cutting in line.
“Hey Mark, new suit today?” You send the bouncer a charming smile as he recognizes you, nodding with a pleased look.
“New dress today, bullet?” the tall man winks and you roll your eyes playfully, passing by him and into the storm of loud music and people.
Today you decide to change your tactic, moving straight to the bar instead of making your way to a higher ground and picking a target out. You silently thank yourself for wearing boots instead of a tight pair of heels like the previous night.
The music blasting today was rather calmer than yesterday, a mix of RnB and reggaeton setting the mood to your advantage. Before you could take a seat you are suddenly interrupted by a body stepping in front of you. You look up at the man, raising your eyebrows at him before rolling your eyes and stepping aside to move out of his way. Yet the stranger follows, stepping right after you to block your way.
“Move” you say bitterly, wondering what the asshole’s problem was. He didn’t look much older than you and he wasn’t dressed to impress anyway.
“Y/n wasn’t it?” he says and it takes you everything not to react. Nobody in this area should have enough information to even know your name so why was this man in front of you saying it so proudly? You were careful not to expose the way your stomach squeezed for a second.
“Wrong person, buddy. Now move” you roll your eyes and this time push the man away with force to make yourself comfortable at the bar. You don’t turn around to check whether he was still after you. After a tense minute of waiting for something to happen, you sigh in relief. Maybe he had seen you years ago and recognized you but either way, you could not engage with anybody who threatened to expose you to the feds.
The bar was even emptier than yesterday, all people migrated to the dance floor but hey, at least Wooyoung seemed to be missing too, to your luck. He must've been successful with picking the right target yesterday, maybe he would have already left the country and was spending nights on a resort somewhere across the globe.
The bartender brings over a welcome shot of some liquor and you down it almost immediately. Chatting up people at the bar didn’t seem like the right tactic and you once again found yourself changing your plans last second as you stood up to disappear into a crowd of dancing people. The club wasn’t fully packed and you were sure that tonight, you would be able to handle the people around you. You notice the way people move in waves, eyes closed as their bodies sway them side to side to the music which means bodies start bumping and pushing into you the deeper you go. As much as you’d love to give in and just relax for once, you look around to spot any man decent enough to try hitting on.
Recently you have noticed a downfall in targets, downfall in successful deals and overall bad luck in business. You knew larger cities would have other workers of your field, but was it really that bad? People familiar with you named you bullet when you first started conning. You were quick, silent and lethal just like a bullet. But it seems as if your reputation was slowly going downhill as more and more nights left you empty handed or worse, beaten to a target by Wooyoung. You didn’t even notice when he had moved cities, started going to the same hunting places as you and now even stealing your targets right in front of you.
Back where you started, everybody had their own place to perform business at, always resulting in getting at least one successful deal a month. But it seems the capitals have no rules. Whoever reaches first, keeps the target.
You lose track of time as the bass of the music travels through your body with a buzz, successfully throwing your concentration off course as you give in and sway to the enchanting music. Whatever happens tonight, you were not going to beat yourself up for not getting a deal, yet another week in a row. It feels good to not have to worry, but you have gotten way ahead of yourself as your eyes shoot up once a pair of arms wrap themselves around your torso from behind.
Suddenly, you are hyper aware of your body. The humid air in the club made it no easier to breathe, your chest rising dramatically to gasp for air as panic set in. You trash around and turn around in the embrace to face whoever had approached you from behind, eyes wide from the initial shock. You are met with a familiar face. The asshole from earlier stood in front of you with a cocky smile. Your hands fly up to push at his chest, yet to no avail. He had trapped you.
“Why so surprised, did you think I wouldn’t find you again?” He speaks over the music. His hands are locked behind you, pushing on your back to close the gap between your bodies as he practically glued your chests together.
“Let me go '' you yell over the music, heart beating harshly against your rib cage and you wonder whether you would start hyperventilating in a club full of strangers.
“You could at least dance with me” he answers and before you can reply, he moves to forcefully sway your bodies to the music and you can’t put your mind as to why he would go to such lengths to get you. The fact that he had so surely said your name earlier only fueled the anxiety brewing in the pit of your stomach. You try to take a good look at his face but the strobing lights were throwing you off your guard, making it harder to see the man and also remember to keep yourself from going into an anxiety attack.
“I said, let-”
“-Let go off her” another voice cuts in from behind you, loud and clear. You don’t put much effort into identifying whoever was stepping in, just wondering how much longer you could keep breathing. Soon you feel lighter. You watch as the man’s arms swing back from your body as if somebody had forcefully pried them off.
You take a step back to free yourself from the proximity of the stranger but instead bump into another chest. You whip around, still in panic as the crowd around you seemed to quickly be closing in, every voice ringing in your ears. You catch a glimpse of blonde hair and as if on command, your body determines it safe for a time out. Your knees grow weak as your brain goes completely blank with bright white light blinding your vision.
“Fuck” Wooyoung mumbles, hooking his arms around your torso to keep you from hitting the ground completely.
“Fuck off” he barks at the man who watches with a blank face, nodding to himself before raising his arms up as if to indicate he was innocent as he disappeared into the crowd. With the man gone, Wooyoung's problems did not lessen. With determination, he squats down to wrap his arms around your upper thighs before lifting you off the ground and onto his shoulder. He makes sure to pull down on the elastic material of your dress, not wanting to expose you to the people around. Thankfully everybody seemed to be busy dancing or drinking, never looking twice in his direction as he carried you outside.
The line outside of the club had dissipated by now, it was way too late for people to keep entering. A queue of taxis were lined outside by the sidewalk, patiently waiting for customers to start rolling in but Wooyoung had other plans. He walks across the well-lit street filling up with people dancing and singing still as they come out of multiple packed clubs for fresh air.
Soon, he is at the parking lot he used whenever he took his own burgundy Mercedes to a night out. He unlocks the car and opens the passenger seat to set you down in it, making sure your body leaned against it comfortably before sighing. He catches his breath, allowing for questions to roll in. His most obvious one, why the hell had you passed out so suddenly? And who was the guy at the club trying to get to you? The question he refused to acknowledge though was why he had even gone up to help you in the first place. His mind convinces him he was merely being a decent human being, it’s the least he could do after snatching multiple deals right from under your nose.
The faded sounds of people shouting and music coming from the clubs is what slowly brought you back, eyes fluttering as the chilly wind grazes your exposed legs. It was silent now and the people from the club weren’t crowding you anymore. You catch the sight of a cream-colored car interior and suddenly realize you were not at the club anymore. Sitting up straight you immediately look around to get an understanding of your surroundings. The car door was open, so you were not being kidnapped. How did you get here?
“Geez, calm down, you’d think I was kidnapping you or something” Wooyoung snickers, seemingly having similar worries as you. He steps forward to reveal himself to you, unsure of  how you would react to his presence. Both of you weren’t really celebrating the fact that you had settled on working at the same club. Would you tell him off for what happened yesterday? And many other nights before that? For the first time in his life, he decided to keep his mouth shut.
You look up at him, somewhat surprised that out of all the people that could have helped you, it was him standing in front of you. Small recollections flow back to you and you manage to piece together that you were in Wooyoung’s car after you so gracefully collapsed in the middle of the dance floor at LUX. You clear your throat and stretch your legs out of his car, standing up to face him.
You open your mouth to say something but you realize you were not sure what smart comment to insert in such a situation. Wooyoung's eyes look at you blankly, and you wonder if he thinks he has successfully caught you in a weak moment. You couldn’t allow him to even think such thoughts.
“Thanks for the help” you say, but curse yourself as your voice comes out thin and light. “But you didn’t have to. Don’t you have new money to spend?” you sure sound like a jerk. But rather a jerk than letting Wooyoung think he was superior to you.
“You can never just admit I helped you and move on with a simple ‘thanks’, can you? Besides if it wasn’t for me, who knows what that asshole would have done. Who is he even?” Wooyoung is quick to defend himself, his chin lifting higher as each word comes out quicker than the other. You notice how easily heated he becomes when he speaks yet for some reason it stretches your lips upwards into a humored look, which you of course quickly hide.
“If I knew him, do you think I'd react the way I did?” you roll your eyes, hoping that if you ignored the first part of his sentence, he’d forget about it as well.
“Forget it, since you don’t want help, you’re welcome to go” Wooyoung raises his eyebrows, waiting for you to act.
“Fine, good night” You spit but as you whip around to storm off, your foot catches the edge of the sidewalk, sending you flying down onto the asphalt ground. You catch yourself on your palms, wincing as the rough ground scratches your knees and if it wasn’t for your boots, you are certain you would have torn your skin apart.
Wooyoung is surprised to see your body sprawl over the ground below him and steps closer to get a strong grip around your arm, pulling you up effortlessly.
“Ow that hurts!” you yelp at his grip, standing up only to feel shocks of pain shoot up through your left ankle and up your calf. You look down at the dirty material of your boots and wonder how long it would take before you settle down on the sidewalk and just let all your frustration out.
Wooyoung sighs dramatically and instead snakes an arm around your waist, holding you up as you lift your left ankle off the floor to stop the pain.
“I don’t need your help, good night Wooyoung” he mimics a high-pitched voice, face grimacing as he mocks your earlier words. You stay silent, clenching your jaw to keep you from saying something you’d feel guilty for later at night. Besides, you needed the help for real this time and he was the only one around.
“I can give you a drive home, but I expect you to at least thank me. Sincerely” he offers, holding your waist tightly. Wooyoung subconsciously moves you closer until your side is pressed against his and you are suddenly aware of his scent. You couldn’t make out each individual ingredient in his cologne, but your mind settles that it's a mix of bergamot and musk. It is surprisingly not too strong and you hate how well it suits him. You wonder if he would notice you moving closer to catch another whiff of it, but decide against it. Men like Wooyoung shouldn’t be complemented, their ego would get too big and you had enough of his already.
“So?” he speaks up, the hand on your waist giving you a small squeeze to remind you that he was awaiting an answer. You bite down on your tongue before your ego gets the best of you and just chirp out a dry “please”.
For some astronomical reason Wooyoung is not in his usual cocky mood, but you tell yourself not to get used to it. He simply nods and carefully helps you sit down in the leather passenger seat of his car again. Shivers erupt over your bare arms when Wooyoung removes his arm from around you, suddenly realizing how warm he had felt against your skin. You push the thoughts towards the back of your brain, not wanting to overthink the matter. You get comfortable and buckle your seatbelt, observing the details of his car as he shuts your door and moves to get in from the driver’s side.
As Wooyoung focuses on starting the car, you finally have time to look him over closer. His hair was dyed blonde, that you knew already. But what you had failed to acknowledge was the way it made his golden skin glow brighter, accentuating it in a way that you hadn’t noticed before. He wore a button down with cheetah print and you wondered how anybody his age could pull it off, yet he made it seem as if it was made solely for him. The first three buttons were unbuttoned and you couldn’t help but trail your eyes down the vein on his neck that disappeared into his prominent collarbone. You let your eyes glance just a little further down to sneak a peek of the smooth skin that was the beginning of his chest.
“You done staring me down? I need your address” Wooyoung mused, never turning his head as his eyes focused on the road ahead. You catch the way his lips tug into a small smirk and you ball your fists in your lap to keep you from cursing at him. Of course you had been wrong to think he would be free of his cockiness.
“The Imperial Hotel” is all that leaves your mouth as you turn to look out the car window, refusing to catch yourself loosening up and trailing your eyes over places where they shouldn’t be.
“The Imperial Hotel?” Wooyoung repeats, tone low and and curious. “Are you really broke enough to stay at a hotel?” he asks but realizes his mistake right after the question came out in a way that he didn’t intend for it to. “I mean, don’t you have a place?”
You snort, eyebrows raised as you turn to look at him, arms crossing over your chest. Who was he to question you like this?
“I don’t have a place because I like the anonymity. I like moving around so I don’t need a place” you bark back, hating how you felt threatened by his attitude. Not that you would admit it. “Besides I don’t have to explain anything to you, just take me there.”
Wooyoung stops at a red light, using the opportunity to raise a questioning eyebrow as your eyes meet. His gaze is challenging.
“Take you there?” he repeats your words, each word coming out of his mouth as if you offended him.
“Please” you mumble.
“Much better” he drives off with a pleased grin. The next moments you find yourself in silence, to your surprise comfortable. You listen to the sound of the wheels moving against the asphalt at different speeds as Wooyoung drives. For a moment you feel a warm feeling of what could be dejavu in your chest, as if this has happened before. As if driving together like this was something you did often. Your eyes catch a bright red and yellow sign and you are suddenly reminded of Jisung.
“Wait!” you yell out suddenly, making Wooyoung slam on the breaks as he looks over at you with a concerned expression. His sharp brows are knitted together as he questions you.
“What? What happened?” he breathes, seemingly awaiting something much more serious than the question that comes out of your mouth.
“Could you um, go through the drive through?” you ask carefully, nodding to the fast-food sign right off the freeway.
“Do you realize you just made me slam on my breaks and potentially crash my new car just for Mcdonald’s?” he snaps, immediately checking the mirrors behind him for traffic which was empty seeing as the time was about to hit three am. He clicks his tongue but follows your request, turning to drive up to the restaurant.
“Don’t you have food at home?” he grumbles as you lean over his seat to get a glance at the menu screen outside his window. You support your hand on the center control between your seats, stretching as far as you could over him.
Wooyoung’s gaze shifts to your face in front of his, eyes narrow as they jump over your features and the way you concentrate on the menu. He hesitates but slowly brings a hand forward, warm fingers pushing back a rogue strand of hair behind your ear in order to clear your view. You are busy ordering Jisung his promised burger to notice, voice loud and clear as you speak to the employee over the microphone.
As soon as you’re done placing your order you turn your head to look at Wooyoung, it would be nice to ask if he wanted something since he was nice enough to drive here. It was the least you could do anyway.
You blink in surprise at how close your two faces are. Close enough to feel his shaky warm breath on your cheek. His eyes immediately fall to your parted lips as he swallows harshly. You take notice of this, your own eyes following his actions as you watch the tip of his tongue peek out to brush over his lower lip, wetting it. His lips glisten in the harsh lights situated outside the fast-food restaurant, illuminating the skin.
“D-did you want something too?” your voice is almost a whisper as you speak, slowly sinking back into your seat as if whatever just happened would go unnoticed. Wooyoung bites down on the inside of his cheek, shaking his head as an answer before he drives up to the window, seemingly unbothered. You press your back against the heated seat, wondering why your heart suddenly had picked up its speed. At this point in your career, you always found yourself around men, none of which made you nervous simply by existing so close to you. Wooyoung’s expression seemed sour, jaw clenching as if he was in deep thought.
A part of you wondered if this was a part of his game that he played with his targets. In which case you’d totally understand why he scored successful deals nine out of ten times. You weren’t sure if you wished for another moment like this or if it was that lone single shot of alcohol you had taken at LUX coming back to make you overthink, so you decide against thinking at all. You are tired, that was the true excuse.
The rest of the drive continues in silence. Yet somehow your earlier plans to overthink had betrayed you as your brain jumped at anything you could connect to Wooyoung. From how you first met, to how you had seen him work his targets, to right now.
“We’re here” Wooyoung announces, stopping by the entrance of the obviously fancy hotel. Even though it was late night, a doorman stood guard and you kind of felt bad for him. You unbuckle your belt and shift to move but sudden pain shoots through your ankle again.
“Fuck” you mumble and look up at Wooyoung who was silently watching you struggle.
“Don’t tell me I have to carry you inside too” he says, wondering why he even bothered helping you if it would have taken so much time. Yet never truly complaining because he honestly hadn’t minded it all that much.
“If it burdens you that much, I’ll just hop on one leg” you scoff, if he chose to help, he might as well go through with helping you all the way to your room. But the Mcdonald’s take-away bag suddenly reminds you that Jisung was in the room and there was no way Wooyoung could find out. “Help me to the elevator at least?” and as Wooyoung opens his mouth to cut you off, you add a silent “Please”.
Wooyoung sighs and gets out of the car as a way of agreeing. He walked around the front before opening the door for you. Shivers run down your spine when the cold air hits your legs but you choose to stay silent, knowing that if you would complain it would only turn into endless bickering between the two of you.
You place a foot on the ground, lifting your hurt ankle up and Wooyoung immediately leans closer to reach for you inside of the car. One of his arms sneak under your thighs while the other wraps around your back, lifting you up into his embrace with ease before shutting the car door with his foot. You stay silent as you let him carry you, eyes trailing back to the golden skin peeking out of his buttoned down shirt once again. Since when is a tiny piece of exposed skin something to be shy of? Your eyes trail further up, running along his neck and sharp jawline. You weren’t sure why you were so keen on disliking him, maybe it was in fact that he was too pretty and that he was aware of it.
Wooyoung sets you down by the elevator. It was as if any time you spent with him, whether it was in the car or him carrying you inside, was over in a few seconds and you felt somewhat disappointed as a weight settled in your lower abdomen. Even though you found yourself surrounded by men almost every weekend, there was none that you had sincerely liked. Then, do you like Wooyoung? Probably not. He simply caught you in a weak moment and that was all. You will probably not hear the end of his heroic actions next weeknd at LUX.
“Well... you’re welcome” Wooyoung teases, straightening up as he pushes the button to call on the elevator. The doors open immediately and you dread leaving him. Wait, dread was too strong of a word.
“Thanks” you reply, putting on a poker face to make sure he wouldn’t crack your ego any further. Wooyoung snorts lightly at your attempt at thanking him, but decides to accept it.
“Well then, see you next weekend, honey” he shrugs and turns to leave, raising his hand above his head to wave goodbye as he walks off. Dick, can’t even face me when he leaves, you think and stumble into the elevator, hissing as painful shocks shoot up your ankle.
“Don’t say it like that, people will think you are someone to me” you raise your voice, knowing he’d be able to hear it.
“And am I not, honey?” he glances over his shoulder but just then, the elevator doors separate you as they trap you into the tight compartment. You sigh, shaking your head to yourself.
The elevator was surrounded by mirrors and you catch yourself staring back at an expression of a teenage girl who had been out on a first date with her crush. Only as you look at yourself do you realize your cheeks had heated up and your lips were pulled up into a tiny smile.
You quickly furrow your brows again, trading the smile for your usual scowl to seem unaffected by anything, or anyone.
The elevator gives a metallic ding to indicate you arrived at your floor. The number 13 stands out in golden numbering, how ironic.
You assume Jisung is asleep because nobody greets you as you enter the hotel room. Throughout the year of living together, you’ve mastered the technique of going into rooms almost soundless. As if you're a mouse sneaking in to steal a piece of cheese. Finally you are away from any watching eyes. Finally you do not need to think about the way you act and what to say.
Your cellphone comes to life as it lights up the hotel room and you curse, hopping towards it on your only useful leg. Who is even awake at this time? Could it be…Wooyoung? No, you can’t expect him to even know your number. And even if he did, why would he text you?
You slide the message open and see an attachment. The number was unknown and you wondered if somebody had sent you a drunk text by accident. You open the image. It does not even take two seconds for you to register what it was. The number 13 stood out in gold and the background wall was a warm beige, just like the one on your floor if not the exact same one. You furrow your brows before a text bubble pops up.
“You got away too quick tonight, thank your little boyfriend for that. Next time, it’s over for you”

MASTERLIST
---
The night club was jam packed this Saturday night. You could recognize some rap song blasting through the bass-boosted speakers, blurring out the sounds of people around you.
You quickly flip the light pages of the newspaper before landing on the page where you were met with the pathetic face of the said man. Asshole, he was the one who offered you the money anyway. That job was way too easy. He only went crying about being conned after his poor wife had received the anonymous message from you to her phone;
“Well, learn not to fuck women other than your wife, thought I doubt she will let you near her again” you replied with a dry chukle, hanging up to block the number.

WAIT DO U WRITE FOR SUB SHIGARAKI??
YES YES I DO I LOVE HIM SM
I would die for him 😐
Every kink ever has started out with “only for Shiggy though, ” and then “only for him and Dabi, ” and lastly “god damn it why do I like this shit, ”
Like I would never eat ass....however if he (or dabi 😳) asked....how could I say no? (spoiler I wouldn't say no)
I fully support #pegshiggy2021
First of all I've had more than one person try to fight me on Shiggy’s mommy kink so it's time to put an end to the argument once and for all.....
but first

TOMURA SHIGARAKI HAS A MOMMY KINK OK WHEN HE NUTS HES WHINING FOR MOMMY TO CUM WITH HIM AND ILL DIE ON THIS HILL
But let's dive into this a little. In the manga, Tomura obviously has a good relationship with his mom, hugging her, allowing her to care for his skin condition, etc. when AFO came into his life (This is an AFO hate club. He's a mfing bitch and a groomer), he took place as Tomura’s father figure. You could argue that Kurogiri is a mother figure, but he's not really the caring “come here baby, it's ok to cry.” type.
Incel Shigaraki thinks his gf is obligated to take care of him, and normal Shig wants someone tender to take care of him, but he feels like he's not good enough and lashes out but feels really bad. Please love him. Incel shiggy just calls you mommy on the regular no shame, don't talk back to him. He expects you to cook and clean for him and doesn't want to lift a finger during sex.
Normal Tomura treasures you. You're precious (even if he doesn’t show it. or acts like he feels the opposite way abt you). You take care of him willingly, so when the first sleepy “thank you mommy” comes out, it just gets lewder from there. Shigaraki isn't an angel (morally. Other than that, he is an angel). He knows it's one of the weirder kinks, but he doesn't care. Not when you're into it too. THIS IS NOT AN INCEST KINK SHIGGY DOESNT THINK OF HIS ACTUAL MOM DURING SEX EEEWWWWW. It just feels right; it's more of a title like sir or ma’am but loving, caring, not the harsh dominance that's usually associated with those titles. And he loves being your baby mommy’s baby. He's so used to being big and scary. But he's sooooo happy that when he comes home, mommy will be there waiting with some snacks, willing to listen to him vent, cuddle, etc.,
And then he yells it while he's filling you to the brim 😌 now, you're mommy all the time, even in bed.
Ok, enough of that, let's have some smut.
“Shhh, honey, just lay down on the bed for me, ”
Body worshipping wasn't something Tomura was accustomed to. He was stiff and visibly nervous. You warmed up the lotion in your hand and began to rub his back. He had picked out the lotion himself, choosing it because “it reminded me of you, mommy.” God, he's fucking precious.
After the lotion was mostly rubbed in, you began to massage his tense shoulders, watching them relax.
“That's my good boy, ” you cooed, “my pretty boy, ”
His cheeks were bright pink, and he pressed his head into the pillow to hide it.
“Ah ah ah, ” you chided, “let me see your pretty face, ”
He shook his head as best he could while still hiding in the pillow.
You sighed, “let mommy see your face, honey. Show me how pretty my sweet boy is, ”
He looked up at you from where he was lying, a timid smile playing on his face. Despite constantly putting himself down, he did love when you complimented him. When mommy complimented him.
You pressed a kiss to his forehead, rubbing his back again. He was still lying on his stomach, naked except for the boxers he was wearing, but those would come off. If he was good for you.
He had a habit of lashing out, especially when he was vulnerable like this, and you worked to correct him. He knows that you'll only make him feel good if he's a good boy. Mommy’s good boy
You added more lotion, straddling his lower back and applying the lotion down the backs of his arms.
“You look so pretty, sweetie. Such a good boy, you're behaving so well today, Tomu. Tell mommy what's making you so happy, ” you praised.
“I'm happy because you agreed to try the...y’know...thing. I didn't think you'd want to, ” Shigaraki admitted, “but you do! And I'm a little nervous; I've never played this level before, ”
“We’ll go nice and slow. Don't worry, ” you said.
You let your hands trail down to his lower back, rubbing right above the band of his underwear.
“I'm gonna take these off, m’kay sweetie?” you said.
His voice was a little shaky, “ok mommy, ”
You got off and knelt down next to where his head was lying on the pillow.
“We don't have to do this, baby. You can always say no or change your mind, ” you said.
“N-no, I want to. It's just...” he trailed off.
“You can tell me, honey, ” you urged.
“I want to be closer to you. I want to be in your lap, ” he whispered.
“Why were you so nervous to tell me that, sweetie? Of course, you can be in my lap, ” you cooed, “sit up for me, Shiggy, ”
He obliged. You handed him the strap on.
“Get a feel for it and let me know if it's too big. I got a smaller one just in case, ” you said.
He nodded and stroked it experimentally. His cock twitched the more he rubbed the toy.
“Is someone excited, baby?” you whispered in his ear.
He nodded, looking up at you. He was just so pretty. When you google ‘pretty,’ your screen should be filled with him. You loved him. You loved him so much. You loved him when he was soft and quiet for you and when he was stressed and loud. You loved him unconditionally.
You took the toy from his hands and placed it aside.
“Can you lay on your back and spread your legs, honey?” you asked.
He nodded, doing so. You kneeled in front of him on the bed and pulled his boxers down with minimal wiggling. Then you began to place kisses up and down his thighs. You had made the room nice and cozy with candles and pillows. You wanted him to be as comfortable as possible.
You left little kisses up and down his shaft, causing him to whine quietly. You slowly got lower and lower before pressing a kiss to his hole. He tensed immediately. You rubbed his thighs again and gave an experimental lick, causing him to gasp softly. You kept licking, and he began to moan and squirm.
“That feels really good, mommy. Th-thank you, ” he said.
You smiled to yourself, beginning to try and press into him. He tensed again, so you swirled your tongue and rubbed his thighs, causing him to moan and relax. You could prep him pretty well with just your mouth but pretty well wasn't good enough.
You put a generous amount of lube on your fingers and rubbed around him for a minute before slowly beginning to press a finger into him. This took a while. A constant cycle of push in, he tenses, you stop and wiggle your finger, he relaxes, you push in, repeat.
You were still kneeling between his legs but closer to his face, pressing small kisses to his neck and cheeks occasionally.
“How's that feel, sweetie?” you asked.
“Feels funny, ” he said, moving his hips a little, “but good, ”
You kissed his cheek before starting to ease in another one. This really got Tomura going as he graduated from slow thrusts to you curling your fingers. He was panting and whimpering now, mouth slightly open and eyes closed.
You made scissoring motions to stretch him a little more before pulling out your fingers.
“N-no, ” he whined.
“Shh baby, ” you soothed, fastening the toy to your hips, “I'm gonna sit against the headboard, and you can come over here whenever you're ready, ”
He nodded and crawled across the bed to where you were sitting almost immediately. You had used nearly half a bottle of lube by now, but it didn't matter (you hadn't paid for it anyway). You wanted this to be nice and easy for him.
He straddled your lap and kissed you. You wrapped your arms around his neck and took control of the kiss, even though it wasn't hard to. He had made a lot of decisions tonight. You felt bad. You were supposed to take charge, let him relax.
Your nails raked over his scalp, pulling away and lining him up.
“Relax for me, baby. It's gonna feel so good, Shiggy. I promise just relax for mommy, ” you said, rubbing his back.
He sunk down slowly onto the toy. His face scrunched up. You kept rubbing his back until it was all the way in.
“You did such a good job, ” your praise, “so pretty when you're all filled up, ”
He was panting with his head in the crook of your neck. You sat there for maybe five minutes, rubbing his back and kissing his hair. You told him how brave he was for trying something new. How he was such a good boy.
He raised his hips experimentally before lowering himself down. He grunted a little and repeated the action. He started to get into a slow, shallow rhythm.
‘This isn't right. He's doing too much work,’ you thought.
You flipped him under you.
“Let mommy take care of you, baby boy, ” you whispered in his ear, “mommy's gonna fuck you real good, ”
He nodded. You kept the same slow, shallow rhythm but gradually sped up. Your thrust became deeper, and his back began to arch as his sweet noises got louder and louder. He raked his nails down your back.
“Mommy go harder, please!” he cried.
You snapped your hips faster. Tears of pleasure rolled down his face as he moaned for you. He got louder and louder as you sped up, pounding into him relentlessly.
“Look at you, sweetie. You're taking me so well, sweetie. My good boy, ” you said.
You left butterfly kisses all over his face. Tomura had the biggest smile as he buried his face in your neck. You changed your angle only slightly, but he began to jerk around and gasp. His moans became more desperate, closer to screams of pleasure.
“Mommy, ” he sobbed, “mommy right there. Please, please don't stop, mommy!”
“I won't stop, baby, don't worry, ” you cooed, “I'm gonna make you cum so hard, baby boy,”
You kept hitting that spot. That spot. The spot that was making him scream, making pre-cum dribble out of his cock and onto his stomach. The spot that was making his cock twitch and throb every time you hit it. He was blabbering nonsense, writhing and scratching your back to the point that it would probably bleed as he was gasping for air.
“Mommy 'm gonna, mommy I-im gonna, fuck, ” he whimpered, “i-im gonna, ”
He threw his head back, trying to meet your thrusts.
“I-im gonna, I'm gonna, ” he scrunched his eyes up, fresh tears rolling down his cheeks.
“I'm gonna, ” he mumbled.
Tomura gripped your hips, trying to make you thrust harder. His face scrunched up, and his mouth opened in a silent scream.
“cum!” he cried.
Hot cum shot out of his cock, coating his stomach as his body twitched. He was shaking while his eyes rolled back in his head. Drool dripped down the side of his mouth.
“Mommy, ” he whimpered as he came down.
You made quick work of pulling out of Tomura, causing him to groan.
“Aw, baby, look at the mess you made, ” you gestured to the cum coating his stomach.
You gathered some of it on your finger and brought it to his mouth. He sucked it clean eagerly. You coated two more of your fingers. They were pristine in a matter of seconds. He looked up at you for more.
You tutted quietly, “good boys share with mommy, Tomu, ”
You brought your face down to his stomach and dragged your tongue through the mess, showing him your cum-coated tongue before swallowing the creamy white liquid. After he was all cleaned up, you pulled him into your chest. You rubbed his back, soothing him.
“B-but mommy, I need to make you feel good too, ” he whispered.
“No, no, honey. Just relax, ” you said, pulling him closer, “you did so well for me today, ”
“Thank you, mommy, ” he whispered.
You tucked his head under your chin and tangled your legs together, pulling the blanket up.
“There we go, sweetie. Did you feel good?” you asked.
He nodded, “you made me feel good, mommy, ”
You hummed softly, kissing the top of his head. You rubbed his back until he fell asleep, admiring the way he slept so peacefully. Your heartbeat lulled him to sleep almost immediately. You loved the way he snuggled into your chest. You heard him whisper out a sleepy, “thank you, mommy, ” that made your heart melt.

Tumblr media
A few days had passed since the incident with Matsukawa happened. Honestly you couldn’t feel the pain anymore. You felt kind of numb.
After you left the apartment you called up a friend and luckily they were nice enough to let you stay there for the time being. You had been a bed for the past few days not wanting to do anything. And to be fair, who would blame you?
You laid in bed as the door gushed open. Your friend had made plans to go to the club this evening and wanted you to come.
You didn’t know if you had the energy or not. Thinking about the situation, why were you moping around? Over a guy like him?
Your friend convinced you as you got up. She squealed getting excited that she would be able to dress you tonight.
She looked through her closet thinking which one would be just right. Flipping through the clothes a light gold body tight dress caught her eye. Smirking at the dress she took it off the hanger.
-
The music was loud and the lights shined. You swore you could feel the music vibrate throughout your body.
You looked around as if you had never been in a club before. And honestly you haven’t been to one since Matsukawa and you started dating.
You watched as your friends dispersed throughout the crowd. Standing at the entrance you took a glance around to see where you should go.
You saw a bar and decided to go over there and take a seat. Sitting down you order a drink for yourself.
A little time goes by and you’ve taken 4 shots now. Being the lightweight you are you were drunk. You were still able to be aware of your surroundings but your mind was a little fuzzy.
Taking one more shot you slammed the glass down and rested your head into your arms on the table. You sighed as you turned your head to the side and saw a guy approaching you.
He was averagely tall and had black spiky hair. You couldn’t tell much else as your vision wasn’t the clearest right now.
“Hey.” He said.
Wow he has a nice voice you thought.
“Hi,” you slurred out.
He chuckled at how you were like right now. He asked to take a seat next to you and you nodded your head yes.
“I’m Iwaizumi by the way.”
“I’m y/n.”
The two of you began some small talk here and there. He was pretty nice and funny, you thought.
You guys began to dig into deeper topics about your life. Matsukawa cheating just happened to come up.
Your eyes started to water as you explained what happened between you two. Iwaizumi paid close attention to every word you said nodding his head and not interrupting you.
You were glad you were able to talk about this to someone who weren’t your friends. They were always caring but a little overprotective of you.
Iwaizumi's face changed into a disgusted face as you continued on with your story. He stared at you in disbelief. How could a guy ever treat you like that?
He kept listening to all the things you were telling him. Sometimes he would be spacing in and out due to the fact that you looked so good to him right now.
The tears in your eyes started building up now and had begun running down your face.
Iwaizumi stared at you as he pushed his seat back a bit and opened his arms for you to get into. You agreed to get up from your chair and sit yourself in his lap.
You sat with your two legs diagonal to his. You rested your head into his neck as you continued talking.
He had a hand on you mid thigh and the other rubbing your back trying to comfort you. He had a little bit of a hard time understanding you since you kept on slurring all of your words.
After you were done talking at this point you just started balling your eyes out as the pain flushed back in. It felt good to be letting this all out. It felt like you were trapped with these negative emotions before.
Iwaizumi looked at you with sympathy in his eyes. He could tell how much pain this was really causing you and how distressed you were.
Even though the two of you had just met he felt like he needed to take care of you. He felt like he needed to show you what it felt like to be treated right and how it feels to be loved correctly.
He stared down at your figure seeing you got a little bit sleepy. Maybe it was from the drinking or the crying who knows?
He was a little shocked on how you could fall asleep in such a loud club like this. He shook you awaked a bit.
“Hey let me take you home. I know you’re tired and drunk so it’s not safe to go out by yourself okay?”
You nodded yes at his question. He moved one arm under your kneecaps and the other supported your back.
Looking down at the table he wanted to make sure he wasn’t leaving anything of yours here.
Iwaizumi started heading out as he carried you out bridal style. Yet again you put your head into his neck snuggling in comfortably while he walked to his car.
He opened the door for you and placed you into the passenger seat and buckled you up. He asked for your address and you gave it to him. But when were you going to realize you gave him your old apartment address instead of your friend’s address?

Scenes From a Marriage - Part 3
Part 3/3
The music is loud and there are people everywhere. The bass vibrates through me and the band are actually pretty good. Better than I was expecting anyway. Usually, I would be having a great time. Andrew grabs my hand and pulls me back on the dance floor and I dance with him for a number before retreating to our table. I’m tired. I’m worried. I don’t want to be here. I don’t have enough energy to be at a night club.
“Come here.”
This time Charles grabs me and leads me back onto the dance floor. My feet are so sore. He pulls at my hands until they’re around his neck and then reaches around my waist, pulling me to him. I push my forehead into his neck and let him hold me up. We sway slowly and he holds me tighter as I sink into him.
“You’re sleepwalking almost.”
It’s whispered into my ear but I can’t be bothered to reply.
“Do you want to sit down?”
“No.” For the first time tonight I’m comfortable. He’s supporting me so much, I don’t have all my weight on my poor swollen feet. He smells so good and it feels so nice to be held.
“Do you need a drink?”
“No.” I’m not drinking, obviously, but the rest of the party have had a considerable amount, Andrew included. That also makes me feel worse. Left out. The band pick up the tempo and I moan, not wanting to stop the slow swaying I was enjoying.
“Let’s get you sat down.”
He chaperones me to the table and helps me to sit down before taking the hand of another woman in our party and taking her out to the dance floor. I scoot up to sit next to Andrew but he has his back to me. I lean on it and he moves away, abruptly, so I sit back in the booth and try to rest my head. My boobs are so sore. When I move my arms and they brush past them, they hurt and that makes me worry about Tom. Is he okay? He doesn’t even know the nanny yet and I’ve left him with her. What if he needs more milk and I’m not there? What if he’s up all night crying because I’m not there? What if he becomes ill, suddenly, and I’m not there to look after him? A wave of panic hits me and I realise I need to go home. I tap my husband on the shoulder.
Andrew turns to look at me but he’s distracted. Even as I tell him I want to go home, I can see he’s not really listening. He keeps on turning slightly to look at the woman sat next to him.
“Sorry, am I disturbing you?” My sarcastic tone grabs his attention.
“No, of course not, Darling.”
“I need to go back to Tom. I need to check that he’s alright.”
“Darling, we’re enjoying our first night out in months. Tom is fine.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I do. You’re being paranoid. It’s the hormones. You need to relax.”
“I want to go home.”
“Don’t be a kill joy, Darling, we’ve only just got here. And Sir will be disappointed. You know he’s only here to dance with you.”
“I don’t want to dance with him. I want to go home. With you.”
“I’m not going home. And neither are you. He’ll not invite us again if you don’t pay him any attention. Go and make him feel special. Then we can talk about going home.”
“Andrew, I came for you.”
“Don’t justify yourself to me. I’m happily occupied. Especially since you’re still out of order.” He reaches to kiss me and I turn my head so he only gets my cheek. It doesn’t deter him. He kisses my cheek and pulls my chin to kiss me. I can’t feel anything. It’s like my whole body has been gutted and the words and the kiss reverberate through the emptiness of my insides. That’s followed by another hit of a tiredness which makes my hands shake and nausea floods through me. I feel trapped.
“You look dreadful.”
“Thanks.” The comment almost makes me burst into tears but I stop them, biting my lip.
“Why don’t you go and freshen yourself up? I’ll get you a glass of water. We’ll go in an hour? How about that?”
Now. I want to go now. But I don’t say that. Instead I nod and make out that he’s doing me a great service. I let him kiss me and stroke my hair. And then I do as I’m told and head to the ladies, where I sit down and smoke a cigarette. I shouldn’t be smoking. I know that. But it’s such a relief and it stops my hands shaking and gives me a slight buzz. He wants me to dance with Charles? Fine. I’ll dance with Charles.
It’s not difficult to spot him. He’s dancing rather awkwardly with a women I happen to know irritates him. I feel no remorse as I tap her on the shoulder and cut in. His relief is also on his face. He takes me in his arms and he holds me too close to dance properly.
“You’re not meant to be smoking.”
“You’re neither my mother nor my midwife.”
“No. I’m your friend. And you’re not meant to be smoking.”
For some reason, this brings me to the brink of tears and I lower my head to hide this from him. I feel him readjust his hold so that I’m held tighter in his arms.
“Why don’t you just go home? You don’t want to be here. I can tell.”
“I want to dance with you.” The lie comes out so sweetly I almost believe it myself.
“Oh, Milla, we don’t have to dance together here.”
“Where else are we meant to go?”
“You could come back to mine?”
That startles me. It wasn’t where I was expecting the conversation to go.
“Or not, as you’re evidently appalled.”
“I’m not appalled…”
“…you just don’t want to.”
I can hear the hurt in his voice. He’s not trying to hide it from me. I decide to stop playing a game. “I want to go back to Tom. I don’t know if he’s okay…”
The embrace, if it’s even possible, becomes tighter. “Oh, Milla, of course. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have dragged you out. Where is he?”
“At home.” I hear the break in my voice as I say it and fight my tears again.
“That’s too far to go back tonight.”
“I know.”
“Why don’t you telephone to check he’s okay?”
That’s a good idea. I’d not thought of that.
“Have you spent the entire evening worrying about him?”
“Yes.” And most of the afternoon. In fact, every time I’ve had a second to myself and during the times I’ve been surrounded by people. I should have taken him to my mother’s. Not left him with a nanny I barely know.
The next half hour passes by as if I’m trapped in a bubble. I don’t really hear what’s happening. I can’t bring myself to listen to the plans whispered to me in my ear, much less make a decision. I feel like I’m floating above the noise of the club. I follow the direction of the hands which tug at me to push me or pull me and I find myself outside with my coat hastily wrapped around my shoulders. Andrew is angry with me but I ignore him. Charles is angry with Andrew and I watch them snap at each other, trying to keep these unwelcome tears at bay. And then there’s a flash from a photographer and I’m ushered into a car quickly. The relief to sit down in the peace of the car floods through me and I suddenly feel rather giddy, which makes me smile for the first time. Charles sits down next to me and the car sets off. I can see the photographer now and I smile, embarrassed, as the car pulls away. Once in the traffic, he takes my hand in his and I find myself looking at him, unable to break away from his concerned eyes.
“She ran through every single detail of the day. Didn’t leave a minute out and some of the things she said, were so Tom, I wanted to both laugh and cry. Then she put the phone next to him and I could hear him breathing and the tiny little noises he makes when he’s asleep and I just whispered goodnight to him.”
“Are you feeling better?”
“Yes. Very much so.”
“I don’t know why Andrew was so against you ringing up.”
“I think he just wanted me to enjoy myself without worrying.” The familiar feeling of unease creeps into me. I hate it when he criticises Andrew. There’s always this extra layer to it, fuelled by jealousy which tinges his words, however rational he makes them sound. Andrew isn’t as bad as he makes him out to be. He’s not being deliberately cruel or unkind but I hear Charles talk about him like he’s a monster. He sighs and reaches to cradle my head. I’m already wrapped in his arms like he’s scared I’m going to run away.
“I know you love him. But that doesn’t mean he’s got your best interests at heart.”
I open my mouth to respond but he interjects.
“No. Don’t argue. He refused to take you home so I had to do it. I love that you’re here with me but don’t excuse him. I don’t want to argue with you about him. We’ll stop talking about him. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you feel better about Tom now.”
“Yes…” That leads to a prolonged monologue on my part all about my little baby. He’s really the only thing I can think about. The only thing I’m interested in at the moment. I get Charles to agree to a date for the christening and then we chatter about plans for that. He’s looking at me with eyes which make me want to melt. They’re so soft. As I talk, I can feel his fingers gently stroking the side of my face. He insisted when we got to his flat that I eat, and the energy from the sandwiches and the hot tea begin to flow through me now, making me more aware of how close we’re sitting. I wriggle to get closer to him. It feels so good to be wrapped in his arms. I’m so full of gratitude towards him but he doesn’t let me thank him. He laughs at me instead so I kiss him and the atmosphere changes like a shot. I don’t know what possessed me to start kissing him but his reaction is immediate and his returning kisses flood through me with an unexpected heat which I have to chase. His fingers slip down my neck and run down my back as I move so I can kiss him properly. Everything feels right. The more I kiss him, the more intense each sensation becomes as my body fires up with the feel of him against me. The feeling of his hands slipping up my shirt, against my skin. It makes me stop what I’m doing, pressing my forehead against his, trying to breathe as his fingers set my skin alight. And then his lips are back against mine and I’m pulling at his tie, tugging at his shirt buttons, wanting to touch him. He’s so gentle with mine, it’s agony and then before I can think about what is happening, I can feel his bare chest against mine and his skin is so warm and so soft and his kisses make me want to drown in them. He removes every item of clothing I’m wearing until we’re wrapped around each other with nothing between us. But that’s all we do. And I can’t decide if I’m frustrated or relieved as he moves me to sit up, on top of him, his eyes so dark and so soft, I can’t look away, his fingers trailing patterns down my back. We’re both finding breathing difficult as he grasps onto my hands and pushes his fingers between mine. Our foreheads are against each other’s and I can feel his breath against my lips. “In eight weeks time, I want you to come to me.”
“The second I get off the boat.”
“Straight to me.” I know what I’m saying. Even addled with the sensations of him against me, I know what I’m asking. I’d forgotten how good he feels. That feeling which encompasses me when he looks after me, cares for me. That too is vying for attention and I kiss him again to quieten it. I can sleep with him. I can’t fall in love with him.
“How am I meant to wait until then?”
I don’t respond, I just kiss him, feeling a jolt go through me.
“If I wasn’t scared of hurting you…”
“There’s no reason you can’t enjoy yourself...”
“There’s no reason why you can’t either…”
His insistence on everything being fair has left me feeling more connected to him than if we’d just had sex. The exact opposite of what I should be doing and as he lies in my arms, sleeping, I’m left with a prickling feeling of guilt which I can’t quite justify away. I play an imaginary conversation with Andrew, trying to explain myself and his argument is stronger each time. Then I change tact with myself and remind myself that he wanted me to entertain Charles. He didn’t explicitly say how to do that. It suits his ego for me to keep Charles on a leash and he can’t be angry with me when he spends his time chasing the next skirt he comes across. It’s an uneasy justification. Especially in comparison to the sweetness of Charles and how he is with me. How he always looks after me. How he listens to me, how he cares for me. I wish I could make him happy. I wish I could give him what he wants. I can to a degree. I can plan my life around him, make sure I’m always at the end of the phone. I can be diligent with my letters to him. I will be his friend. Whether I’m sleeping with him or not, I’ll be his friend. I can do that better than anyone else. I hold him tighter in my arms and ignore the pangs shooting from my heart. Of regret, of love. Neither will do us any good.

That impenetrable coldness
Based on something i stuck in the tags of @juliesghostlyhimbos post. Enjoy
Alex sat in the living room, his maths notebook perched on the little coffee table in front of him as his mothers radio played from the kitchen. He sped through his work, determined to finish it before he headed to Luke’s to hang out with him and Reggie for the evening.
He didn’t respond as he heard the front door creak, his father wasn’t a huge man, but he always seemed to push the door, just hard enough to make it squeal whilst opening in a way that Alex never did. His father slipped off his coat and walked in to the living room, smiling at his son and clapping him on the shoulder in greeting- large hands worn from bowling and baseball together warm through his hoodie.  “Hi, love I’m home, sorry I’m late,” he called as he took a seat on the large couch beside Alex.
“And why are you late?” His mother questioned as she came to rest in the doorway. She placed her hand on Alex’s head as she spoke. Alex’s mothers hands were gentle, she spent her time cooking and crafting- very typical housewife jobs, but she told Alex one day when he was little “They say you can be anything in the world, and they’re right dear. I was very happy being your mum.” She had pet his hair for as long as Alex could remember- calling him her little cat from when Alex used to lean in to her side.
“Oh, there was an event down town, some L G B nonsense- you know those queers, always in the way of decent society,” His dad spoke with an easy smile, as if there where nothing out of the ordinary. His mum didn't say anything back, but she rolled her eyes softly at her husbands antics as she moved to the brown upright chair in the corner to pick up her cross stich.
It was then that his dad turned to him with a smile and a “So kid, what are you up to tonight?”
Alex moved on, he knew when to pick his fights, “I’m just finishing up this homework and then heading over to Luke's for the night. I’ll be home by 11 tomorrow, I know I said I’d walk the dog whilst you're at your bowling meet”
-
“You had a dog?”
“Yeah Will, I had a dog, she died not long after that though”
“oh,”
“yeah”
-
His father seemed pleased enough with his answer, it wasn’t to different from Alex’s usual weekend plans. “Well, I hope you don’t get stuck out there with them,”
“I'll try.” Alex thought he might actually take the long way to Luke’s, or maybe go collect his boys before checking out whatever event was being held. But his father didn’t need to know that.
“Hey kid, promise me you never be one of them, right. I know they sometimes let them into wherever you kids and your band go, the clubs and whatnot,” His dad chuckled, as if this was just a simple joke- something he can laugh along with like any other day. But it stung- his dad didn’t know he was talking about him. But it hurt anyway and Alex felt a little bit like he was going to throw up.
“No can do, dad,” Alex tried to joke- he hoped that if he didn’t make a big deal of it then his parent wouldn’t make a big deal of it.
“What?” The colour had seemed to drain from his dads face.
“Don’t mumble Alex” came from his mother at the same time “Don’t Joke Alex,” came from his father.
“I’m not joking. I can’t promise not to be one of those queers  because I already am one,” he said, trying to maintain his light façade.
His mother was looking at the pair now, fully involved in their conversation.
“I can’t believe this.” His mother looked as if someone has just spilled wine on her prized cushions. Like, some grand irreparable damage had been done to something she cherished. His father stood and moved to his wife- they seemed to share a silent conversation between the two of them. His dad looked up at him, “No you are not.”
Now Alex really felt like he was going to throw up. His couldn’t believe what seemed to be happening. His parents had never been loud, or angry. Never violent- they’d never thrown slurs at people on the street. He thought... well he didn’t know what he thought. That once it was their son, their precious baby boy, that they would change their mind. Instead, Alex’s dad looked like someone had just dealt him a death sentence.
“Alexander, you will never say that again. You will never say that to anyone. Not anyone at school, not anyone at church. Do you understand me?” His mother spoke slowly, like she was talking to a toddler who might mess up her carpet.
“I understand.”
Alex turned his face away, stood up and walked up the stairs. He placed his clothes in his duffle bag, he placed his school books in his backpack. As he walked back downstairs and past the  living room he watched as his parent hugged- almost as if they were in mourning.
“I’m going now,” Alex’s voice wavered as he opened the door.
He didn’t know, fifteen minutes ago, that it would be the last time his mother would ever stroke his hair.
And then he died.
-
Julie looked like she was about to cry herself, as Alex told the story his brothers already knew.
Willie, his precious Willie, just pulled Alex down until he was lying on the floor next to him- his head atop Willies ripped jean shorts. Willies fingers were soft and his rings caught as he gently began to run his hands through Alex’s hair.
“But it’s okay, I have dumbass and dumbasser.”
Said dumbass’s fist bumped- they knew that Alex wouldn’t like them piling in on his sadness after such a story. “And I have you Julie, I never had a sister,”
“And,” Alex continued, rolling over so he was looking directly up at Willie. Willies long hair hung around him in a curtain, protecting him from his past. “I’ve got you.” Willie beamed and ran his thumb over Alex’s cheek, “So, I’ve got my fill of family”.
“And of hugs!” Reggie called from the couch, where his legs entirely on top of Luke’s
“And hugs Reg, Lots of hugs,”

TW: sexual assault
A/N so this is my first imagine I’ve written in almost 5 years… wow going from 500+ followers to starting fresh is definitely a bit of a shock but hey I hope you guys enjoy and ill get my requests open ASAP if that’s something people would like?? my old master list can be found on my profile but just to warn you its very crap, anyway enjoy!!
I gave harry a quick kiss on the cheek as I left his apartment. I was going out for my friend Sophies birthday and we were going clubbing. i waved goodbye as I got in the taxi, it was rare that I was going drinking without Harry and I could tell he was slightly upset that I was going out without him. However, tonight was a girls night and I was going to have fun no matter what!
I had packed some mini alcohol bottles in my purse as I wanted to be wasted tonight, plus it was chilly in London and I, being the forgetful mess I am forgot a jacket. by the time the taxi had dropped me off outside the club half the group was already in line to get in. I had already downed my minis and was honestly feeling a bit tipsy as I walked up to the girls and extended my arms for an array of hugs. “Happy birthday” I beamed at Sophie as she bought me into a hug, I quickly made small talk with the other girls as we waited for the rest of the group to arrive. I had lived in London my whole life and thus known the girls forever and a day, having been to school with most of them it was easier to make small talk.
We were soon admitted to the club and we made a B-line to the bar, necking as many shots as we could. I soon felt the buzz of the shots and felt a hand grabbing me pulling me to the dance floor with the rest of the group to just have some fun.
After a stupid amount of drinks I was quintessentially lost. I hadn’t seen or heard from any of the girls in about half an hour and I had roamed the club as best I could with being in such a state. I whipped out my phone as I sat on the toilet and saw the club would be closing soon as it was 4am. Then it hit me as a text popped up saying i had missed the cab and all the girls had gone. I swore under my breathe but decided to just find a cab myself, and worse comes to worse Simon and JJs apartment was only a 15 minute walk, maybe 20 in these heels.
I left the toilet and made my way out of the club, stumbling on the cold path but I didn’t care, my vision was blurry and I knew my way to where the taxis were usually parked so hopefully I would be home and wrapped up in bed with my love soon. I waited for a few minutes but it seemed as though all of the taxis were pre booked or already all taken, meaning i would have to annoy my boyfriends friends, which made me slightly uncomfortable but I had known the boys for years so I’m sure they’d understand. I started walking to JJ and Simons apartment.
The walk went quicker than expected and I was about 5 minutes away when I noticed some guy was following me. I tried to take a short cut through a park and he yet again was following me. I quickened my pace but I was no match for him. I felt him grab my arm quite harshly, if I wasn’t so drunk id know that would leave quite the bruise in the morning. “Hey get off” I shouted at him struggling in his grip and to no avail. “Shut up bitch” he said as he yanked my arm and dragged me down the path, me stumbling after him.
I started to scream as the reality of this situation was quickly sobering me up. The man threw me on the concrete path before kicking my side and yanking me by my once perfectly curled hair so I could feel is breathe on my face. “Do that again and you won’t even make it to where we’re going” he growled at me. My heart sank.
I looked around trying to catch my bearings and to my luck we were practically outside of the boys apartment and I could see that the living room light was still on. I attempted to run again, kicking the man in the balls with my sharp heel and stumbling to the apartment complex, this time I made it to the doorway and was able to push the intercom to the boys apartment.
Before I could say anything the random man pinned me against the opposite wall as I yelped. I was flailing like crazy trying to get out of his grip. “HE-” I started but was silenced by his hand slamming on my mouth, I could barely breathe being trapped between this guy and a brick wall. I felt tears starting to stream down my face as the mans hand started to trail its way up my dress and hook itself on the edge of my pants. I just squeezed my eyes shut and tried to go numb. This wasn’t happening. I kept repeating to myself.
However, as he got halfway down my thigh I felt the pressure being released and I crumbled to the floor. My tears not stoping as I felt someone engulf me I started to punch them and try and break away until I heard a familiar voice. “Hey hey its me, Simon its ok” I opened my eyes and saw that it was in fact Simon and JJ was standing over the guy who previously had a grip on me. “Cmon lets go inside” Simon said leading me inside and up to the apartment. He sat me on the sofa snd got me a blanket to cover myself with. I started to calm my breathing but the tears were none stop.
“Hey you’re ok” I heard a female voice before I was engulfed by Taila. I just sat and cried into he chest. she rubbed my back until id calmed down and stopped crying. “He, he w was f f following me all night and there wasn’t a taxi and my phones died so I thought I’d come here and he-” I started to cry again as I explained to Taila what had happened. “Its ok” she said offering me a smile and passing a side men hoodie to me which I gladly put on.
She kept her grip on me which was comforting and kept telling me things like how it’s ok now and it’s not my fault and how I did the right thing by coming here.
After 15 minutes I had cried my eyes dry, Talia was still holding me and I could only hear whispers from the boys. Then the door swung open. I felt my eyes well up again as I whipped my head up and saw Harry. He darted towards me and Talias soft comforting grip was replaced by my boyfriends protective loving engulf. I felt tears run down my face before Harry pulled back. “I-“ I started but was cut off immediately by him. “No its fine the Boys have explained its ok I’m here now” I just shook my head and cried into his chest.
I must’ve fallen asleep cause I woke up in warm arms and soft sheets. I snuggled into Harrys chest, I could feel that I was wearing one of Harrys tops and some shorts. My hair was in the worst bun I have ever worn but I didn’t care. i felt Harry kiss my forehead. “I love you, its ok now” he mumbled. I just snuggled into his chest further. With the knowledge that I was safe and so in love.

Hello you amazing human! Me having an unhealthy obsession with Kai Parker (and TV sociopaths in general) I am requesting like a Romeo and Juliet inspired story? It can be like the 1996 version of R and J and make it like modern? Idk I think you are talented and I love you and I want you to adopt me.
Here is a modern version of the 1996 Romeo and Juliet movie in the vampire diaries world. Story takes place in Mystic Falls.
Word Count: 11,032 OMG
The characters I have used/ re-written are:
Kai Parker in place of Romeo Montague from the Gemini Coven, Reader Cadell in place of Juliet Capulet from the Oasis Coven, Kai Parker's friends: Sampson, Gregory, Benvolio, Mercutio and Balthasar, The Cadell boys: Abra, Petruchio, Tybalt, The Father/ Priest, Reader Cadell’s nanny, Parents to Reader, Parents to Kai, Rosaline, The governor’s son aka Dave, Police Captain, news anchors
* * * * * * * * * * * *  Scene: Local gas station* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Kai Parker’s friends pull up to the gas station hooting and hollering. The ill tempered red head name Gregory shouts,
“Those dogs called Cadells really piss me off! Any dog from that Oasis coven will make me angry enough to take a stand!”
Sampson exclaims in response to his friend, “This quarrel is between our leaders...”
The red head interrupts “...and us their men!
“I would be a tyrant, fighting the men and being merciful to the women by cutting off their heads!”
Gregory is mock outraged, “The heads of the women?”
Sampson turns up the car radio and the boys start to dance but stop abruptly at the sight of a black car.
Sampson says, “Here comes the Oasis coven boys.”
Abra and Petruchio Cadell stare coldly. Sampson gulps nervously as Gregory nudges him mockingly.
“Fight back and take a stand, will ya?”
Sampson tries to hide his panic and responds, “Let them start the fight.”
The gas station door slams closed, BANG. The Parker boys jump at the sound, their attention drawn back to the Cadells who are laughing at the sight of the terrified group. Sampson brazenly flips them off out of embarrassment. Abra’s eyes look back in the mirror to see Sampson’s finger. Abra whips the car around full speed to block the Parker boys from escaping. He jumps out of the car and yanks Sampson out of his car.
“You dare flip me off? Huh?”
“Yeah I gave the bird.” Sampson sneers.
“You dare to?!” Abra roars, gun drawn.
“You think the police will be on our side if I say yes?” Sampson turns to Gregory.
“Nope.” Gregory grimaces.
Sampson turns back to Abra stuttering, “Well I- I did give the bird. But I didn’t give it to you.”
“You want a fight?” Gregory asked.
“No I don’t want a fight,” Abra fake smiles.
Sampson turns to Gregory, “If you do fight, I will be by your side.”
Abra laughs, “Ha! Only you two? You can’t do better?”
“Uh...”
Just then, Benvolio comes back from the bathroom, and shocked by the scene pulls his gun out.
“Here comes our back up!”
“You fools!” Benvolio shrieks, “You don’t know what you’re doing! Let us keep the peace.”
“I hate peace.” Tybalt spits. He fires his gun at a child on accident, smacking the child’s toy gun to pieces.
Benvolio panics and accidentally shoots a bullet near Tybalt’s head. Gregory shoots and nicks Abra’s arm when he attempts to move it away from his face with his magic. A gas tank explodes after a magically moved bullet hits it. A news van screeches around the corner going live with the gun fight and explosion. Tybalt corners Benvolio, placing a gun to his head.
“Look upon your death, Benvolio.”
Suddenly a burning light blinds Tybalt and the Police Captain yells through a megaphone. Police cars have surrounded the scene.
“Enemies! Place your weapons on the ground now! Stop using your magic!”
Tybalt looks to the police and stands down.
* * * * * * * * * * * * At the police station * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The Police Captain sits down at his desk, across from the leaders of the Gemini and Oasis covens.
“This is the third time your covens have disrupted the peace of Mystic Falls in a brawl.”
Cadell’s lawyer tries to intervene, “Captain I can-”
The captain slams his fist down. “If you ever disrupt the peace again, I will personally see you both go to prison.”
* * * * * The Parkers are on an awkward ride back to their mansion * * * * *
Kai’s mother sighs and looks out the window. “Oh where is Malachai? Have you seen him yet today?” She turns to her husband. “I’m just glad he wasn’t at the fight today.”
Benvolio feels guilty and answers, “He’s been at the lake side. I saw him walking there this morning.”
Kai’s father scoffs, “He walks too much around there, crying like a child.”
“All he does is hide away in his room, penning himself up and shutting out the light to make it dark as night.”
The driver leans back, “Ma’am, I’ve just received word. He’s at the pier.”
Kai is eating a bag of pork rinds, looking out at the sunset. “Love is a smoke that leads to disappointed sighing. I will never be able to get her, the beautiful Rosaline. Niece of my enemy. Unflawed love would make me feel powerful and alive. But when one does not return the love, the love only creates sadness. Love is madness. Love is bitter tasting but keeps us preserved and alive with its sweetness.”
Back in the car the family continues to chat.
“It’s not healthy for Kai to shut himself away with this depressing behavior. He needs a friends counsel to get him over whatever troubles him.” Kai’s father urges Benvolio.
“Let me out, I’ll talk to him and see if he will tell me what is wrong.”
Kai’s father gives an encouraging smile that disappears as soon as the door is closed. “Let’s go home.” He sighs.
* * * * * * * * * * On the beach * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
“Good morning cousin,” Benvolio tries to act casual.
“Is it really only morning?” Kai asks seriously.
“It’s a new day.” He tries to act cheery.
“Sad hours seem long...” Kai turns to Benvolio. “Was that my father that just drove off?”
“Yes Kai but...” Kai shakes his head and starts to walk off, Benvolio walking swiftly after him. “What sadness makes your hours long?”
“Not having the love of her. With her the hours seem short.”
“You have gentle love in your view, but in others it is a sign of tyranny!” He exclaims.
“Whose view matters on my love...” Kai pauses when he sees a TV, playing back the news report of the fight from last night. “You had a fight?”
“I -”
Kai interrupts, “Don’t give me an excuse. I’ve heard them all. It’s much easier to hate someone than to love them. You are wasting so much time on someone who does not care about you.” He storms off in a rage, going up to the sidewalk heading toward a night club. “Why do you love to fight and love to hate, creating conflict out of nothing? My heart is swept away by love but it weighs on me that I am bound to it. It is agony my cousin.” He screams at a bouncer and uses his magic to flick him aside into trash cans. “There is no love like the one I feel,” he dark chuckles, “What cousin? Not going to laugh?”
Benvolio says nervously eyeing the crumpled bouncer, “No...I’d rather cry.”
Kai smiles mischievously, “Good bye, cousin.” And he takes off running down the sidewalk.
Benvolio sighs and starts to pursue. Finally arriving home, Kai gets to a car and a man hurriedly gives him the keys.
Benvolio cuts him off panting, “Tell me... who is it...that you love?”
“My sad heart is in love with a woman.”
“I knew it was a woman,” he rolls his eyes,
“She’s a beautiful lady.” Kai pulls down his shirt to reveal a small tattoo that says ‘Rosaline’.
“Rosaline?!” Benvolio is surprised but impressed. “She is quite beautiful.”
“She does not love me back, her heart is well guarded.”
“Hmm.. You know what? Forget about her!”
“How can I forget about her?”
“Look at all the other ladies,” he motions toward the girls on the sidewalk.
Kai laughs dismissively. “Good bye. You can’t teach me how to forget.”
Benvolio hurries and jumps into the passenger seat of the moving car. The boys head to a bar.
“She would be in just as much trouble as I would be anyway, being a Cadell and a Parker.” He continues, “I think I could keep the peace between our families though.”
The bartender smiles. “It’s honorable of you to try, it’s too bad your families are fighting.
* * * * * * * * * * At the Cadell Mansion * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The Cadell leader of the coven, your father, is set down at a meeting with the governor’s son, Dave.
“So what do you say to my proposition?” Dave asks.
Cadell looks at the picture frame of his wife and daughter. “My daughter is still young and innocent. Give her 2 more years and then she will be a perfect wife.”
Dave is persistent. “Sir, girls younger than her are happy mothers.”
“Hmm,” Cadell eyes him hard, “And younger girls married too soon are blemished. She is my pride and joy. If you can woo her and get her consent then you have mine as well.” He comes around the desk to give Dave a fatherly pat on the shoulder. “I will hold a large feast tonight, join us and meet y/n.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * Back at the bar * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Benvolio and Kai have started playing pool.
“Bring another lady into your sights and heart, then you will forget about her.” Benvolio hits a shot and Kai stops it with his hand, throwing it to hit other balls. “Are you insane?” Benvolio asks in mock outrage.
“Insanely in love, yes.” Kai mocks back, stepping toward the bar.
An entertainment show is on the TV above, the female news anchor excitedly announcing. “Tonight the rich Cadell is hosting a great feast-”
“A grand costumed event!” Her partner interrupts.
The partner starts to read off some of the important guests who will be there. Rosaline’s name is on the list and Benvolio turns to Kai, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Looks like Rosaline will be there.” Kai grimaces as Benvolio continues. “Let’s go to the feast, it’s perfect. We can sneak in disguised and find you another woman who is even more beautiful than Rosaline.”
“More beautiful than her? Ha! There has never been a more beautiful woman since the dawn of time.”
Their attention is drawn back to the anchor. “If you’re not a Parker, come and drink some wine at the feast!”
Kai pauses to think. “Fine. I’ll go, but only to prove that no one can be more beautiful than Rosaline.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * At the Cadell mansion * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
“Y/N!!! Y/N!!!!” Your nanny yells.
She rushes around the house trying to find you. You roll your eyes and sink down further into the bubble bath, ignoring her calls. Lady Cadell is trying to ready herself for the feast, going maniacal at the nanny screaming. She yells your name.
“God’s sake nanny, where is my daughter? Tell her to come to me.”
“I’ve been calling for her ma’am but I still can’t find her.”
“Mother, nanny? You called?” You said coolly, feigning innocence as you stood there in your bathrobe.
The nanny exclaims in shock, “Oh! Get dressed y/n!
“Just leave her alone. We will speak in private, you can stay as I need your advice.” Your mother looks casually into the mirror, examining her costume and continuing. “You know, y/n darling...I was about your age when I was married.” She turns quickly, unable to hide her excitement anymore. “The governor’s son wants to make you his wife! Isn’t that exciting?”
The nanny tries to take her side. “He is a charming young man, miss.”
“Oh the most charming and handsome!” Your mother giggles, her drinks obviously kicking in.
“What-” you are too stunned as she speaks again.
She grabs your arm, “He’s coming to the feast tonight! To see you! He is a rich man, fall in love with him. You will become his and all that is his will become yours!”
The nanny asks you cautiously, “What do you think of his love?”
You choose your words carefully, not wanting to put your mother in a foul mood. “I’ll try to like him and see if there is anything likeable, but ultimately I will only marry him if you approve and give me the strength.”
A maid comes in. “Lady Cadell, the guests have started to arrive.”
She gasps in excitement. “Hurry y/n, get ready!”
The nurse leans in to whisper, “And don’t forget to enjoy yourself.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * Down by the pier * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Kai Parker and a couple friends are sitting down at the pier, watching the bright lights of the Cadell mansion from across the lake. They hear a roar of a sports engine pull up and turn back to see who it is. Getting out of the car stands Mercutio, Kai’s best friend, dressed in drag. The boys practically fall over laughing as Mercutio pretends to be posing for paparazzi.
“Now applaud!” He yells and whips out the party invites from his mini skirt.
“Holy shit dude, you did it!” Benvolio and friends jump up to grab them.
“I dunno.” Kai stands and continues to look out at the lake.
“Oh come on man! You have to go and dance.” He grabs Kai and starts to waltz.
Kai laughs and shoves him away, “You can dance but I can’t, my heart is too sad.”
“Aw, poor heart broken child.” He mocks.
Kai looks at the stars. “Is love soft, or rough harsh and rude?”
Mercutio jumps on his back. “If love is rough with you, then be rough with it. Beat it down.”
“Your love is crushing me cousin.” Kai laughs, starting to fall down.
Benvolio honks the horn impatiently. “Come on! We’re wasting daylight!”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * At the feast * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The boys pull up hooting and hollering. Waltzing inside, it is obvious that Benvolio and another friend have already started drinking. Kai walks in calmly, looking at the dance floor. Mercutio dances with a woman and passes her off to Kai.
“Come on, every guy should have the chance to dance.”
A Cadell boy drunkenly strides up to Kai who is dressed as a knight. He puts an arm around him, not recognizing him to be a Parker.
The Cadell yells out, “Musicians! Play us a song!”
Kai felt as if his heart would burst out of his chest at any moment. He quickly ducks out of the boys grip, abandoning the lady and tries to find an area away from the crowd. As he is walking he spots an angel. A literal costumed angel in the form of you. You are wandering through the crowd aimlessly when you spot him. Kai stares back at you, his plump lips forming a smile. His brown hair falling to the side, frames his perfect face. In that moment you knew he was the one. A yell disrupts your focus and you turn to see the nanny calling you.
“Y/N!”
You look back for the mystery boy but he has vanished. The nanny starts to drag you toward Lady Cadell and Dave, the governor’s son.
He extends his hand, “Will you dance with me?”
Knowing you can’t decline, you place your hand in his.
Your mother trills, “Oh such a fine young man.”
Kai didn’t know how it had happened but in one moment he had lost sight of you. Rushing through the crowd to find the angel again, he accidentally bumps into a Lucifer. Little did he know, the man dressed as Lucifer was Tybalt.
Tybalt then turned to Abra. “How dare Malachai come to a Cadell event. He mocks us with his mischief and antics. I will not consider it a sin to kill him in order to protect our coven’s dignity.”
He starts to storm off when your father Cadell stops him with a strong arm. “Where are you going off to?”
“It’s Kai Parker, he’s here.”
“Calm yourself, Tybalt. Don’t ruin this night, be peaceful in this house. Tolerate him for tonight and don’t waste your time on him. He’s not worth it, save it for another night.”
“I won’t tolerate him!”
Cadell rages, “You will! You will behave and stay out of any fights!” He shoves Tybalt. “You are making a scene.”
An older couple looks on shocked and Cadell tries to regain his composure. Comforting the couple he turns.
“Don’t worry, cheer up and have some drinks.”
They smile heartily and walk away. Turning back to Tybalt, he harshly whispers. “I am the leader of this coven and you will obey me. Now go away.”
Kai spots you on the dance floor once again, but this time you are with a man. He whispers, “I have never known what love truly means until I have spotted this angel. I take back and disown the idea of love I had for Rosaline.”
Even dancing with Dave you were still distracted by looking for the handsome mystery boy. Then you spot him again, your eyes connecting. You quickly look back to Dave, not wanting to seem too distracted but within a moment you were back to staring at the boy over his shoulder. The lights black out, colorful spotlights turn on as confetti and balloons rain down. You had stopped dancing. You let out a gasp as a hand suddenly yanks you behind a curtain. There stands Kai, he pulls you close to his body so your chests are almost touching.
“Your hand is so clearly holy, if I offend you by touching it with my rough unholy hand, then let me make it better with a kiss.” Kai woos.
“Don’t be so hard on yourself. You holding my hand is a sign of devotion. Placing our hands together is a palmer’s kiss.”
“Might I suggest we do with our lips what we do with our hands?” Kai kisses your lips sweetly. “Now my sins are gone.”
“Oh but now your sins are on my lips and the only thing that can make it better is another kiss.”
Kai kisses you once again. “There, now all is right.”
“You are very clever in coming up with reasons to steal kisses from me.”
Suddenly the nanny interrupts. “Y/n, your mother wants a word with you.”
You head toward your mother, and wave a hand, signaling Kai not to follow but he trails anyway. Kai watches the nanny and you head up the staircase instead of leaving like the guests. At the top is a furious Lady Cadell standing with Dave. Your eyes dart nervously to Kai as your mother starts to harshly whisper in your ear. She pullls you away from the stairs and that is when it dawns on him.
“She is a Cadell?” he whispers under his breath.
You stop to look back at Kai and the nanny whispers in your ear. “HIs name is Malachai Parker from the Gemini coven.”
You feel a coldness fill your chest, disappointment and reality crashing down. Mercution runs up and claps a hand on Kai’s shoulder.
“The party is starting to break up, we need to leave now so we don’t draw the attention of the Cadells.”
“It’s what I thought, yet I’m still dissatisfied.”
Mercutio ushers him out to the waiting car while Kai looks back over his shoulder longingly. As Mercutio starts to drive the boys away, noisily singing, he spots you in the window.
You see Kai and whisper, “My true love is born from the coven that I’m born to hate. I fell in love too soon and now it is too late to hate him. It is such a large degree of love, that I must love my enemy.”
You close the window and lean your head against the glass, unable to take your eyes off Kai’s disappearing form. Down below in the doorway stands Tybalt, also unable to take his eyes off the enemy.
“I will obey my uncle tonight. Malachai’s intrusion may seem sweet but it is bitter and will come back to poison us in the end.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * Out at the car * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
There is a traffic jam from all the cars trying to leave. Kai sighs and whispers beside his noise raucous of friends. “How can I leave here when my heart stays behind? I have to go back.”
Kai leaps out of the slow moving car and Benvolio yells.
“Kai! Where are you going?”
Kai is running back along the road, using the cars and bushes as a way to shield himself from the guards’ view. He stealthily climbs vines and leaps onto the other side of the stone wall bordering the property. Mercutio pulls the car around in front of the gates that are swinging shut.
Benvolio points out, “I think he ran that way. Call his name!”
“I’ll do you one better,” Mercutio laughs. Jumping out of the car he dances in front of the gate swaggering like a flirtatious drunk lady. “Oh Kai!” He calls in a falcetto voice, “It’s me Rosaline! Come to my plump lips, my bright eyes and my long legs and quivering thighs!”
The boys cheer Mercutio on. Kai smiles at his calling.
“He makes fun of love scars that are non existent.”
The boys are now laughing hysterically at Mercutio swooning around like a love sick fool. The fun is cut short when a security guard yells and a spotlight comes to life, pinning Mercutio in its beam.
“Alright boys, let’s go.” He quickly hops into the car and they speed off.
Outside the rear wing of the house, Kai creeps near the pool, taking cover when a bright light comes on.
“But wait, what light shines through that window?”
Almost in response, the balcony doors open and you step out still in your angel robe. You start to walk near the pool, unaware of Kai hiding in the shadows.
He whispers, “Y/n is the sun, rising in the East and killing the jealous moon. She is far more beautiful than any others.”
You sit on the pool ledge, legs dangling in the still water.
“It is her! My love!”
You sigh. Looking longingly to the stars you ask, “Oh Malachai, my Kai. Where are you? Deny your father and rebuke your name, or if you will not, my love, I swear I will no longer be a Cadell.”
Kai whispers, “Should I say something or remain silent?”
Starting to pace you continue, “It’s only your last name that is my enemy, but you, yourself are not a Parker. But what is a Parker? It is not a body part of a man. Why can’t you have some other name! What is a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. So if Kai, if not called called Kai Parker, would be just as perfect. Kai, lose your name. Trade in your name, which has nothing to do with you, and take all of me in exchange.”
“I will take all of you in exchange at your word!” Kai steps out of the shadows and calls wildly. “Proclaim your love for me, and you can call me whatever you want!”
You scream and topple backwards, Kai tries to balance you out by grabbing your hand but is instead plunged into the pool with you. A security guard moves toward the pool area and you wave him away. assuring that everything is fine.
“Kai, why did you hide in the darkness and listen to my private thoughts?”
He puts his hands up in a calming gesture. “My own name is so hateful to me, if it were written on a piece of paper I would rip it up.”
“I have not heard you speak over a hundred words, but I recognize your voice and have memorized it’s sound. Should I not call you Malachai? And a Parker?”
“Neither my love, if you don’t like the names.”
“How did you get over the walls? If any men of my coven find you here, they will kill you.”
“The darkness of night will hide me, besides let them kill me. I would rather due than live without your love.” Kai leans forward, you kiss long and greedily until you push Kai away.
“I’m glad it’s night so you can’t see how embarrassed I am that you over heard me gushing about you. Part of me feels I should pretend I am not interested, as that is how proper ladies would act. But it is too late for that, do you love me?”
Kai starts to speak but you silence him and continue. “I know you will say yes and I believe you. Swear to me so you can’t be proven false my sweet Kai. Say it faithfully. If you think I’m too quickly won over then I will frown and see you no more, no matter what ends of the earth you may go to win me back. Honestly... I favor you too much, you may not believe me but I’ll prove myself to be more true and loyal than any other woman.”
“My love, y/n, I swear by the moon, that lights the night so beautifully.’
“No, don’t swear by the moon for it constantly changes.”
“What should I swear by?”
“Do not swear at all. But if you dare to, swear by yourself. You are my idol and I will believe you.” You touch his cheek with your palm and Kai moves his lips close to yours.
“If my hearts dear love-”
Confused, you break away. “Do not swear then. I take joy in you, but not in a rash, sudden contract. We need to slow down, we don’t have to rush into anything. We should take our time and see where this love goes.”
Another light turns on and the nanny begins to call. “Y/N!” You rush up the pool stairs.
“Will you leave me so unsatisfied?” Kai tries to keep up.
You scoff and give a shocked expression, “What more satisfaction do you want tonight?”
“I would be satisfied if you promised me your love so we could exchange vows and be married.”
You run joyously into Kai’s arms. “I will gladly exchange vows with you and promise my love!” You kiss fiercely and passionately before being interrupted by the nanny’s yell again.
“Y/N!!”
“Good night dear Kai. If you really intend to marry me, send word tomorrow. I will come to you, tell me what time and place. I will leave all my fortunes behind and follow you all over the world.”
“Y/N!”
“I’m coming!” You holler. “A thousand times goodnight.” You kiss again and finally run inside. You reappear at the top of the balcony. “Kai! What time should I come to you tomorrow?”
“By 9 o’clock!”
“I will be there! Good night sweet Kai until tomorrow. Parting is such sweet sorrow.”
“Sleep well my lovely y/n.” Kai blows kisses to you and heads back toward the wall to take his leave.
* * * * * * Morning time in a greenery * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
A priest is giving an herbology lesson to some young boys.
“Plants, herbs and stones are a beautiful thing.” He makes a small cut in the bulb of a purple flower. “In this flower, lies a poison while also having the power of a medicine.” He carefully puts the sap in a beaker. “It smells lovely, but if tasted, can stop the heart. Our lesson is done.”
Turning to put the beaker away in the fridge, he pulls out a jar of candy. Looking at them sternly, the boys take their candy and scram. The Father starts to watch the TV but his thoughts are interrupted by Kai knocking on the door frame.
“Good morning Father.”
“Good morning! Why do you come so early in the morning to see me?” The priest studies Kai for a minute. “It is very early for you to be getting out of bed, and if I guess right it means that you never went to bed last night!”
Kai follows the priest as he starts to walk through the empty church. “It’s true, I never slept because I was enjoying the sweet night.”
“God have mercy on you! Were you with Rosaline?”
“With Rosaline? Father no. That name is out of my mind and long forgotten.”
The priest starts to lay out preparations for communion. “Good my son, so where have you been?”
Out of old habit, Kai starts to help him. “I was feasting at my enemies house. So suddenly I was wounded by love and now both of ours only cure can come from you. I gave no hatred, and your power will benefit my enemy.”
“Speak clearly. Tell me what you mean. I do not know how to help you if you speak in riddles.”
“I am in love with the leader Cadell’s daughter. I love her and she loves me. We’ve promised our love to each other but we need you to make it official. I’ll tell you more later about where and when we met, how we fell in love. But I’m begging you to marry us today.”
The priest stands there a moment, thunderstruck. Two of the young boys enter in robes and he dismisses them. They get the message and bolt. He turns back to Kai, still stunned.
“Holy Saint Francis! This is such a sudden change. Have you given up on Rosaline so quickly? The one you claimed you loved? Young men love with their eyes and not their hearts. How many tears did you waste crying over Rosaline? I can still freshly remember you crying to me about your heart’s woe. You’ve changed so suddenly.”
“You’ve always scolded me for loving Rosaline.”
“I did not scold you for loving her, but for obsessing over her.”
“Don’t scold me over y/n now, we truly love each other. Rosaline did not love me.”
“Rosaline knew you loved her but didn’t really know what it meant.” The priest sits down in a chair and looks off into the distance where the childrens choir are assembling. The priest is moved by the childrens singing and he turns back to a waiting Kai.
“Come with me, I will help you with your secret wedding. If we’re lucky it may turn the hatred between your covens into love.”
“Then let’s go, I’m in a rush.”
The Father stands and looks down on Kai, “We need to be smart about this and take it slowly. We don’t want any slip-ups.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * At the beach * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Benvolio and Mercutio are arguing.
Mercutio snaps, “What do yo umean Kai didn’t come home last night?”
“I spoke to my uncle’s maid, she said Kai never came home.”
“He’s so obsessed with Rosaline, he’s gone insane.” Benvolio paces the sidewalk, “Tybalt sent a message to Kai’s father’s house.”
Mercutio interrupts, “I bet it’s a challenge.”
Benvolio stops pacing. “Do you think Kai will take up the challenge?”
“Anyone can write a letter demanding a challenge. But it takes a true witch to demand a fight with a siphoner like Malachai.”
“Kai is daring enough to challenge Tybalt.”
Kai’s car pulls up beside the lake’s parking lot. Benvolio heads toward him.
“Here comes Kai! Here comes Kai!”
Mercutio saunters up the beach with mock chalance. “Bonjour Kai,” he speaks with an accent, “You gave us quite the slip last night, no?”
“Good morning to you too. What slip did I give you?” Kai feigns innocence.
“WHAT SLIP? You gave us the slip last night, are you mad?”
Kai grins smugly. “Oh my apologies, Mercutio. I had a great time, thanks for asking. It was very important business, I didn’t have time to say a proper goodbye.”
“Oh I’m sure you were kept quite busy last night.” He jokes and Benvolio hoots, jumping on Kai’s back.
“Oh shut up.” Kai shoves him off into the sand. “I’ll fight you.”
Mercutio flicks sand at him and starts to run down the beach. Kai laughs and starts to chase. Kai gains on Mercutio and dives into the sea, following him.
“See, isn’t this better than groaning over love?” Mercutio splashes and Kai tries to dunk him underwater. “You’re much happier now!” He walks onto the beach, “Come on Kai.”
Kai tackles him onto the wet sand and Mercutio suddenly becomes serious. “How happy you are now, is who you naturally are.”
A shadow falls over the boys and there stands the nanny in a bright red ‘disguise’.
“God, you are a beautiful woman.” Mercutio remarks, bemused at the sight.
The nanny ignores him and speaks to Kai, “I need to speak privately with you.”
Kai gets up and starts to follow the woman up to a black car waiting in the parking lot. Mercutio looks questioningly to Benvolio who shrugs. “Maybe he’s going for dinner?” Mercutio yells at Kai, “Come home for dinner!.”
Before stepping into the car he yells back, “I will be there soon!”
“Goodbye old dragon lady!” He jests, blowing her a kiss.
* * * * * * * * * * * * In the car * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The nanny leaned in uncomfortably close to Kai and whispered harshly, “If you lead y/n on, treat her poorly or break her heart like a delicate tea cup then you will suffer an ill fate.”
She leans back to her seat and there is a silence. Kai chooses his next words carefully. “Ask y/n to come to confession today. The Father will hear her out, absolve her sins and we will be married.”

You are waiting excitedly in your room, looking for the nanny’s arrival. The black car pulls into the driveway and out steps the nanny.
“Here she comes!”
You bolt from from your room to meet the nanny at the staircase going to the rear of the house. You burst into the kitchen following her where she proceeds to start looking in the fridge.
“What did he say?” You ask again impatiently, “Nanny! What did he say!”
Stepping away from the fridge the nanny sets food down on the counter. “Let me rest a minute, I am tired and hungry.”
You continue to plead, walking to her. “Please tell me! Is it good news or bad?”
“My God, why such a hurry? Can’t you stay here and talk for a while? I am out of breath.”
You cannot stand the suspense anymore. “How are you out of breath? Tell me! Is it good news or bad? Just tell me that much!”
The nanny sits and take a big bite of her sandwich, talking between chews. “You’ve made a simple choice of a man. You don’t know how to pick one. He is a very handsome and attractive young man but he doesn’t have the best manners and composure. However, he has a gentle spirit and nature. Have you had something to eat yet?”
“I already know those things about him, tell me more! What does he say about our marriage?”
“Oh dear, I feel a headache coming on, and my back aches...”
This is a game you know well. You climb onto the back of the recliner, setting down so you can massage her,
“Ooooo yes! Get right there!”
You then coo sweetly, “Oh sweet nanny, what does my love say?”
“He is an honest man, kind, handsome and virtuous. Where is your mother?”
You crack. “Where is my mother? That’s your reply?! My love says like an honest gentleman, ‘Where is your mother?!’”
The nanny pouts, “Calm yourself y/n!”
You explode in frustration. “How can you tell me to be calm? WHAT DID KAI SAY?”
The nanny goes quiet for a moment. “Do you have time to go to confession today?”
“I do.”
“Then go to the priest, Kai awaits there to be a husband and make you his wife!”
With a scream of joy, you hug the nanny.

The priest shakes his head. “Such extreme emotions about this kind of pleasure often ends in disaster. Even the taste of too much honey can become sickly because it is so sweet.” He looks to Kai. “So love carefully and long may your love live.”
You push through the oaken double doors to the church. The priest cues up the choir and beckons for you to come to the altar.
“Good afternoon Father.”
Before the priest can reply, you and Kai kiss passionately. He wait just a moment then delicately interrupts you.
“Come, come and we will make this quick. Because, if you don’t mind, I’m not leaving you two alone until you’re married.”
You and Kai exchange vows and rings. The priest follows the two of you out, throwing hand fulls of rice. Your driver takes a perfect picture as the bride and groom kiss. He holds the car door open and you reluctantly get in. As the car drives away, Kai runs along side it until he watches the big car speed away.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * At the beach * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Mercutio stands knee deep in the water fishing. Benvolio shelters himself from the heat under a life guard tower.
“Come on Mercutio, let’s go. It’s too hot!”
Mercutio ignores him and continues fishing with his gun. Benvolio looks around nervously hoping they don’t draw the attention of the Cadells.
“The Cadells are out, and if they see us, we won’t get away without a fight.”
“You are like one of those men who enter a bar and put their gun down on the table saying, ‘I pray I never have to use you’ but by the time he orders his second drink, he pulls the gun on the bartender for no reason at all.”
Benvolio doesn’t find him funny and turns away when a black Sedan rolling up stops him cold. “Oh great, here come the Cadells.”
“Well, well, I don’t care,” Mercutio drawls.
The car slides to a stop only feet away from where Benvolio stands. Tybalt, Abra and another Cadell emerge from the vehicle and step toward the Parkers menacingly.
“Good day gentleman, can I have a word with one of you.”
The rest of the Parker boys stand nervously at Tybalt’s words. Mercutio responds wittily, “You want just one word with one of us? Put it together with something else. Make it a word and a blow.”
“You’ll find me ready enough to do that sir, if you give me a reason.”
Tybalt’s hand moves to rest on his gun handle. Mercutio stops jesting upon spotting the firearm.
Breathily he asks, “Could you not find a reason without me giving you one?”
The Parker boys start to snicker again and Tybalt snaps. “Mercutio you hang out with Malachai.”
Mercutio’s anger grows. “Hang out? What do you think we are, a bunch of musicians? If I am a musician, then this is my fiddlestick,” he motions to his gun, “And I’ll use it to make you dance.”
Benvolio tries to mediate, “We’re talking in a public place. Either go someplace private, or it talk it over rationally or just go away. Out here everyone can see us.”
Mercutio retorts, “People’s eyes were made to see things, so let them watch. I’m not moving to please anybody.”
Just then, Kai arrives in his car, heart full of happy news.
Tybalt walks away from Mercutio, “Nevermind you. Here is the man I am looking for.” He calls out to the approaching Kai, “Malachai, there’s only one thing I can call you. You are a villain!” Pulling his jacket aside, Tybalt reveals his gun to Kai.
“Tybalt, I have a reason to love you, let me put aside the hatred and forgive your remark. I am not a villain. So good bye. Clearly you do not know who I am.”
Kai turns and walks back to his car, surprising everybody. Tybalt is confused and outraged, hurling himself back into his Sedan. He kicks the car in a U-turn, slamming into Kai’s car. Kai locks the car as Tybalt gets out to beat down on it. He smashes the passenger window and hauls Kai out.
“Boy, your words can’t excuse the harm you’ve done to me!” Tybalt punches Kai across the face, sending him sprawling to the ground. “Turn and draw your gun!” He yells.
Kai shakily lifts himself from the ground, feeling his busted lip. Speaking through his bloody teeth, Kai answers. “I never hurt you. And so, good Cadell - which name I care for more than you can understand,” Kai cautiously pulls out his gun, “be satisfied.” He throws the gun to Tybalt’s feet.
The Parker boys can’t believe their eyes as Kai starts to walk down the beach. An angered Mercutio steps forward.
“This calm submission in dishonorable and vile!”
Tybalt grows angrier, handing Abra his weapon and sprinting down the beach after Kai. In a bone cracking collision, Tybalt tackles him to the ground near an abandoned life guard house. The boys run to catch up while Kai still refuses to fight and runs up the stairs. Tybalt trips him and he careens into the old wooden railing, smashing it to pieces. Tybalt kicks savagely at him, willing him to fight back. Mercutio runs after him, picking up a piece of wood from the broken railing and hitting him across the head making him fall down.
“Tybalt, you ratcatcher!” Will you go and fight me?”
“What do you want from me?” Tybalt swings a lump of wood and Mercutio dodges.
“Why, King of Cats, I want to take one of your nine lives. I’ll take one and depending how you treat me after that, I might beat the other eight out of you too.”
Tybalt swings his wood again and Mercutio blocks, throwing the stick away. Tybalt, now empty handed, charges and slams him against a window shattering the glass. Mercutio is back on his feet lightning fast. He raises a rock, ready to smash in his head when Kai rushes between them.
“Stop this fight Mercutio!”
Seizing his opportunity, Tybalt lunges up and aims to slash Kai with a piece of broken glass. Instead, he misses and slashes Mercutio across the stomach. He screams out in pain, grabbing his side. Everyone goes quiet. Abra tugs at a stunned Tybalt.
“Let’s go Tybalt!”
The pair bolts for their car and Benvolio goes to Mercutio.
“Are you hurt?”
Mercutio covers his wound and laughs, “Yes but it is just a scratch.”
Kai helps him get down the stairs. “Have courage, the cut can’t be that bad.”
“It’s not as deep as a well or as wide as a door, but it’s enough to do the job.” Mercutio jokes, “If you ask for me tomorrow, you’ll find me a very grave man. Goddammit! I can’t believe that rat could scratch me to death!” He says through crazed laughter.
He now turns his attention from the cheering boys to Kai who is struggling to support his weight.
“Why the hell did you come between us? He struck me under your arm.”
“I thought it was the right thing to do.” Kai starts to panic.
Mercutio pushes himself away screaming, “May a plague fall upon both your covens! They’ve turned me into food for the worms. I’m done for. Curse your families!”
He collapses to the ground and Kai kneels, cradling his best friends dead body. Thunder booms and it starts to sprinkle, turning into a heavy rain.
Benvolio whispers, “Mercutio is dead.”
Kai cries out, “Oh sweet y/n! Your beauty has made me weak, you have softened my bravery when before I was hard as steel.”
The sound of Tybalt’s car peeling off brings back cold reality. Kai’s sadness turns to uncontrollable rage. He runs to his car, in an effort to head him off. The rain is now blinding but Kai stops for nothing. Pedestrians scream and cars screech to a stop. He rounds a corner and slams into Tybalt’s car, veering out of control. Tybalt scrambles from his car and Kai runs toward him. Tybalt draws his gun but Kai continues to march on.
“Go on! Kill me so I can join him!”
Tybalt nervously starts to walk backward.
“Either kill me or I will kill you!”
He shakes his head in panic, Kai flicks his wrist sending Tybalt’s gun into the air.
“Why did you come between us?”
Kai remains silent. Police cars screech to a halt, surrounding the area. The gun lands back in Kai’s hand and he fires three shots.
“Put down the weapon!” A police officer calls through a megaphone.
Tybalt’s body collapses to the road. A cop fires, grazing Kai’s arm and he screams.
“Oh! I have awful luck!”
A strong gust of wind and rain blinds the police. Balthasar drives up and starts screaming.
“Don’t just stand there! Come on!”
Kai quickly slides into the passenger seat, holding his wounded arm and crying.
Lady Cadell pulls up to the scene and runs to crouch over the body. “Tybalt! Oh my sweet nephew. My family’s blood is spilled on the streets.”
The Captain parts through the police line. “Where are the men who started the fight?”
A hand cuffed Benvolio is pushed forward. “Captain, I can tell you everything about the fight. Tybalt killed your relative Mercutio and then young Kai killed him.”
Lady Cadell begins to scream again. “Tybalt was my nephew! Oh my nephew is dead! Captain, you are honorable, take revenge by killing someone from the Parker family.”
The Captain ignores her and turns to Benvolio. “Benvolio, who started this fight?”
“Tybalt started the fight before he was killed by Kai. Kai spoke to him reasonably and didn’t want to start a fight but rather make a truce. Tybalt refused and was deaf to peace!”
Lady Cadell interjects savagely, “He’s lying! I want justice, Kai killed Tybalt so Kai must be killed!”
The Captain, losing his patience turns to the woman. “Kai killed him after Tybalt killed Mercutio.”
Malachai’s father, Sir Parker l arrives and begins to plead with the Captain as well. “Please Captain, don’t make Malachai pay the price. He was Mercutio’s friend. His death has been avenged by Tybalt’s. It is even.”
The Captain eyes him coldly. “And for the crime of murder, Malachai is exiled from Mystic Falls. You have involved me in your rivalry. My nephew Mercutio is dead because of your bloody feud.”
“But Captain-” Parker starts to plead.
The Captain silences him, “I will not listen to your excuses and your begging will not change my mind.” He turns to address his officers. “Tell Malachai to leave the city immediately or else if he is found he will be killed.”

“I wish the sun would hurry up and set already so night can come immediately. Because when the night comes and everyone goes to sleep, then my Kai will come to me, leap into my arms and no one will know. Gentle night, give me my Kai and when I die, turn him into the stars and make a constellation in his image. His face will make the heavens so beautiful that the whole world will fall in love with him. I belong to Kai now, this day has been so long, waiting for him.”
A car pulls up into the driveway and you rush down excited to meet the nanny. Your knees buckle and you fall to the ground at her news.
“Oh god! Did Kai kill Tybalt?”
“He did, he did! This is a most cursed day!”
“He’s like a snake disguised as a flower. Was there ever such an evil book with such a beautiful cover? I can’t believe such evil lurked inside someone so beautiful!”
“There is no trust, faith or honesty in men. All of them lie, cheat and are wicked. Shame on Malachai!”
“How dare you wish shame upon him! He was not born to be shameful. He deserves only honor, I was an idiot to be angry at him.”
“How can you say such good things about the man who killed your cousin?”
“Am I supposed to speak badly about my own husband? Oh my husband! How could I speak bad of him when we’ve only been married 3 hours? Kai why did you kill my cousin? Probably because my cousin would have killed my husband. It is comforting to know my husband is alive, but I am crying still because he has been banished. This is worst than the murder of 10,000 Tybalts. No words can express my pain. Nanny, where are my father and mother?”
The nanny gets down to comfort you. “They are mourning the death of Tybalt. Go to your room, I’ll send Kai to comfort you. I know where he is.”
You look up through tears. “Please hurry and find him. Tell him to come and say his final good bye.”

The priest leads the nanny into a bedroom. Kai lays on the bed, shirtless and bandaged.
“Nanny!”
The woman rushed to his side.
“Tell me about y/n. Where is she? Is she okay? What does my hidden wife say about our ruined love?”
“She doesn’t say anything. She just cries and cries. She falls down but when she tries to get up, she just calls your name and collapses again in tears.”
Kai has started to cry uncontrollably, “She calls out my name as if I were a bullet murdering her, just like her cousin.”
The priest shakes Kai, “I thought you were smarter and more rational than this! Your y/n is alive, you should be happy. Tybalt wanted to kill you, but you killed him. Be happy that you’re alive. You have been banished, not sentenced to death. Be happy about that. Your life is full of blessings.”
Kai has calmed down and the priest helps him get changed into a new white shirt.
“Go. Go to your wife and comfort her. Get out of here before daybreak. Good night.”
The priest ushers Kai out of the church and gives him one last handshake good bye. Kai and the nanny sprint towards the car.

Dave stands by your father holding flowers awkwardly. Your mother comes down the staircase solemnly.
“She refuses to come out of her room.”
Dave replies calmly, “It’s understandable. These times of pain are bad for romance. Good night ma’am, give your daughter my regards.”
“I will. And I’ll find out what she thinks about marriage tomorrow morning but tonight she is shut up with sadness.” The three leave down the hallway.
* * * * * * * * * * In your room* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
You are softly crying into your pillow when you feel a hand gently touch your face. Your eyes dart up to see Kai standing above you. There’s a still moment of disbelief. Leaning down, Kai kisses away the tears that fall from your wide y/e/c eyes. Your lips find his and he gently sinks back into the bed with you.
* * * * * * * * * * Back in the living room* * * * * * * * * *
Your father sits reclined in an armchair. Dave and your mother sit opposite him. He whips himself in a drunken frenzy of excited thoughts.
“My sir, I’ll make a desperate argument for my daughter’s love. I think she’ll do whatever I say- no - I think she’ll do that and more. I have no doubt about it. Wait- what day is today?”
Dave answers, “Monday, sir.”
“I will talk to her tomorrow about marrying you on Thursday. Does that sound good to you?”
Dave tries to catch up, stunned at the suddenness. Your father eyes him.
“Sir- I wish Thursday was tomorrow. It sounds wonderful.”
Your father raises his glass to toast and they stand. “Well go home. Thursday it is then.” He turns to your mother, “Go see y/n to prepare her. Tell her to get ready for her wedding on Thursday.”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * Your room* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Morning time comes, shining light upon yours and Kai’s bodies tangles together. You lie blissfully asleep. Balthasar’s car quietly pulls into a side road near the estate. Sitting up suddenly, Kai wakes up remembering where he is. Sitting on the side of the bed he starts to get dressed. You silently wake up and climb onto his back, kissing him gently on the neck.
“You’re leaving already? The day has just begun.”
Kai turns and softly strokes your cheek. “If I want to live I must leave now, if I stay then I will die.”
You sigh in resignation. “You’re right, you have to go. Now leave before it gets any lighter!”
You frantically help Kai get dressed. You both freeze when there is an urgent knock on the door.
“Y/n!”
“Nanny!”
“Your mother is coming to your room!”
You hurriedly usher Kai out to the balcony.
“Good bye my love, one last kiss and I will leave.”
You caress his face and whisper. “Do you think we will meet again?”
“I have no doubt.” Kai smiles up at you and heads down the wall.
You turn at your mother’s voice at the door. “Good morning y/n! Are you awake?” Your mother walks in right after you hastily flop back into bed. She crosses over to the window, opening the curtains to let light in.
“You have a caring father. He has arranged a day of joy to end your sadness. A day you did not expect and that I did not look for.”
You try to play along. “What day is that?”
Your mother takes a deep breath in. “You will be married to the handsome and charming governor’s son! You will go to the church and there become his wife.”
You are too stunned, “By Saint Peter he will not make me his wife!”
A look of fear crosses your mother’s face. “Here comes your father, tell him that yourself.”
Cadell with a whiskey glass in hand, barges calmly into your room. “Have you told her what we have decided?”
“Yes, but she refuses to and says thank you. I wish the foolish girl was dead and married to her grave.”
Your father becomes dangerously calm. “How could she refuse? She should be grateful and proud of the match we’ve made. She’s not worthy of the gentleman.”
“I am not proud of what you have decided for me. I am thankful that you tried. I can’t be proud of something I hate, but I can be thankful it was done out of love.”
He thinks for a moment, then throws his glass across the room, shattering it against the wall. “You are a spoiled little girl and not really showing me any pride or thanks. You are going to get married to the governor’s son on Thursday. I will drag you there if I have to.”
You try to move into the hallway but he grabs your shoulders, shaking you.
“Please listen to me...” you beg.
“NO! You will not speak back to me.”
Your father throws you to the ground and you sob. His hand slaps you across the face.
“Are you insane?!” Your mother retorts and he responds by backhanding her face.
“You disgust me y/n. My worthless daughter!”
The nanny gets between you and your father. “God bless her! You are wrong to berate her like that!”
Your father now furious, shoves the nanny aside and grabs your face up. “I’ll tell you what- you WILL get married at that church on Thursday or you will never show your face to me again. I will disown you and you can die on the streets, I swear to god!” He storms away down the stairs while you lay huddled on the floor.
“Mother, please don’t disown me! Delay this marriage as long as you can or I will kill myself!”
She looks at her lip in the mirror and speaks softly. “Don’t talk to me because I will not say a word. Do whatever you want, I don’t care anymore.” Your mother turns and leaves.
You beg your nanny, “Please nanny! Tell me how I can stop this!”
The nanny doesn’t respond and sits in a heavy silence, moving towards you.
“Please give me words of comfort!”
“Listen to me, I think it would be a good idea for you to marry this man. Malachai has been banished and can’t return unless he is undercover. I think you could be happy with the governor’s son, you are no use to Kai anyway.”
You stay still. “Do you honestly mean this?”
“I do.”
You decide to play along, despite the pain of faking. “You’ve comforted me a lot nanny. Tell me mother I am going to the priest to confess and be forgiven for angering my father.”
“Alright, I will. That’s a good idea.”
* * * * * * * * * * At the church* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The priest stands at the front of the church with Dave talking about what will happen on Thursday.
“Her father wants us to rush and be married very soon.”
Just then you walk into the church, not expecting to see them there.
“Look! There is the woman who is my wife!”
“That might be the case sir, after I’m married.” You respond icily, one hand hidden resting on a pistol.
“That ‘might be’ will be on Thursday.”
“What must be will be.” You walk down the isle coolly.
The priest states, “That is a certain truth.”
“Did you come here to confess?” Dave inquires.
“If I answered that question, I’d be confessing to you, Dave.”
You and the Father turn to leave and Dave starts to excuse himself. “Y/n, I will marry you early on Thursday morning. Until then, good bye.”
You give him a stone cold glare as he leans forward and kisses your cheek.
“Keep this kiss, and goodbye for now..”
As soon as Dave left, you stormed into the backroom, the priest following your lead. “Y/n, I already know about your sad situation.”
“Tell me how I can prevent it, Father.”
“I’ve heard you must marry a man on Thursday and that nothing can delay it.”
“If you’re so smart but can’t help me, then you will call my solution smart and I’ll solve it by myself.”
You pull the gun out and point it at your head. Horrified, the priest moves to stop you but you panic and point the gun at him.
“Hold on, y/n!” He holds out a soothing hand. “I have an idea. But we must act boldly because the situation is so desperate. If you’re so desperate you would kill yourself instead of marrying Dave, then you must be desperate enough to try something similar to death to solve this problem. Come with me to the greenhouse.
You obey, eager and desperate to try anything on the face of the earth to be with your love.
The priest holds up a little vial with a blue liquid in it. “When you are in bed, drink this. The sleep inducing drug will run through your veins and stop your pulse. Your body will turn cold, you’ll stop breathing and you become so pale, your family and Dave will think you are dead. You will stay like this for 42 hours and then you’ll wake up like you’ve only been sleeping. They will take you to the family vault. I will tell Kai about the plan and he will come to you and take you far away.” The priest cautiously hands you the vial.

At a trailer park out of town a mail truck pulls up to a bland looking trailer. The mail man knocks loudly at the door with the letters from the priest. Kai is too busy with his headphones to hear the knocking. The mail man shrugs and slips a ‘WE CALLED’ note under the door.

It is the night before the wedding and you stand in front of a mirror. Two od the maids hold up your wedding dress, fussing over which shoes match the best. Disinterested you point to a pair and satisfied, the maids leave.
“Nanny will you please leave me alone tonight?”
“Why?” The nanny asks as you guide her to the door.
“I have to say a lot of prayers so the heavens will bless me. You know I am troubled and full of sin.”
The nanny leaves, shutting the door. Confident that you are alone, you rush to the bedside table and pull out the glass vial.
You whisper, “What if this mixture doesn’t work? Will I be forced to marry Dave?”
You cautiously begin to unscrew the tiny black lid. Suddenly there is a knock on the door. You palm the vial and turn to see your mother walk in.
“Do you need my help?”
“No, we’ve already figured out what I’m wearing tomorrow. So if it’s okay with you, I’d like to be alone now.”
You slip into bed and your mother sensing your unease nods. “Good night then.”
“Good night!” Your words surprise her and she smiles, closing the door. “There’s a slight cold fear running through me. I have to go through with this.”
You bring the vial to your lips and toss your head back. You have a sudden violent convulsion and then collapse backward, face painted with fear.
It is morning time, the sun light shines down on an ambulance and police cars in front of the house.
One of the medics speaks over the radio. “Drugs?”
The second medic responds, “Yes, a deadly amount. She overdosed.”
The family numbly enter the house again, wedding decorations mocking their pain. The priest enters your bedroom, kneeling by your side and quickly checks your pupils. He pockets the vial and looks toward the undertaker.
“She is ready to go to the church.”
The man dressed in black nods. “We will take her to the Cadell vault.”
Balthasar, hearing the news of your death, rushes away to tell Kai.

Kai is sitting at his table, writing in his notebook, still not paying attention to the ‘WE CALLED’ card. Balthasar’s car speeds to a stop in front of the trailer and an excited Kai rushes out.
“What is it Balthasar?”
Balthasar is too stunned to speak.
“Did you bring me the letters from the priest? How is y/n?”
Balthasar does not know how to word what he has come to tell Kai, and looks away. “She’s not well, she lies dead in the Cadell vault.”
For a long moment, Kai is still and when he speaks, his voice is chillingly calm. “Is it really true?”
Balthasar nods. Kai turns and stares out into the distant wasteland.
“Then I hate the stars!” he moves to the car. “I have to see her tonight.”
Balthasar tries to hold him back, “Just wait-”
“Leave me alone!” Kai roars, pushing him against the car.
“You look pale and wild as if you’re going to hurt yourself.”
“Well, you’re wrong. Leave me alone. Do you have a letter from the priest?”
“No I don’t.”
Kai shakes his head and smiles, “Nevermind. I’ll go see her tonight.” Kai hops into the passenger seat and Balthasar reluctantly gets behind the wheel. The car roars out of the park and Kai silently whispers, “I am coming to be with you tonight, y/n.”

The priest speaks into a phone, concerned. “Did Malachai get my letter?”
The mailman responds, “No. He didn’t answer the door.”
The priest hangs up the phone and looks at the time. “I need to get to the vault, y/n will be waking up withing an hour.”

Balthasar’s car pulls into the cemetary’s driveway and Kai hops out.
“Give me your flashlight.” Opening the trunk he pulls out a crowbar.
“Kai just listen to me.”
Kai turns around a punches him hard causing him to fall down, blood spilling from his nose. “Go and stay away from me or I will tear you apart!”
Balthasar rises slowly, both boys are trying not to cry.
“My plan is wild and savage, more fierce than a starving tiger.”
“I will go and leave you alone.”
Kai smiles and the boys hug. “Go live and be happy, good bye my friend.”
They part ways and Kai goes to the mausoleum, starting to pry the door open.
“You horrible mouth of death. You’ve taken the most precious girl on earth away from me. I will tear your jaw open.”
Kai grunts and with a final heave, the door scrapes open. All is silent inside, flickering candle light the hallway.
“Despite my hatred for you beast, I’ve come to give you another body.”
Roaming the hallway he finds your coffin, collapsing to his knees he cries out. “Oh! How often are men happy before they die!”
* * * * * * * * * * * * Outside the mausoleum* * * * * * * * * * * *
The priest thumps the steering wheel in frustration as he slowly pulls into the graveyard. “I am afraid something terrible is going to happen.” The priest shakes his head in horror seeing the vault’s door broken open.
* * * * * * * * * * * * Inside the mausoleum* * * * * * * * * * * *
Kai pushes aside the lid and kneels by your figure. Moonlight streams in, lighting your beautiful face as you sleep.
“Oh my beautiful wife! Death has sucked the life out of you but it did not take away your beauty.” Unconscious tears fall from his eyes as he continues, “Ah y/n, why are you so beautiful? Should I believe death has fallen in love with you and he keeps you away from me? I hate that death, so I will stay with you and never leave this vault! Let me kiss you one last time!”
Kai kisses your lips one last time. Your hand twitches but he doesn’t notice. He pulls out a vial of poison he stole and drinks it quickly. He convulses and falls, his head resting on your body. Kai fights for breath and you wake up, becoming aware of Kai.
“Kai? Is that you?” You sit up and cradle his head in your lap.
His clear wide eyes stare back up at you but he is unable to move, save for his weak breaths. You find the vial in his hand and start to cry.
“He drank it all and left none for me. I will kiss his lips, maybe there is some poison still on them to make me die with him.” You delicately kiss Kai on the lips. In a broken hearted whisper, “his lips are still warm.”
Desperately you both cling to each other. With all his might, Kai whispers, “Thus, with a kiss I will die.”
His breathing stops, there is only silence from him as you sob, hugging his lifeless form.
“Malachai, oh my sweet Kai.” You look to the gun in his jacket.
* * * * * * * * * * * * Outside* * * * * * * * * * * *
The priest hurries to the entrance of the vault when a gunshot rings out.
“God have mercy! Y/n? Malachai?”
His breath escapes him, coming upon the tragic scene. There, under the statue of Saint Peter, lie Kai and y/n. United again in death.
THE END!

Intertwined - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Rating: Teen
Content Warnings: It's a hanahaki fic, so. Mild body horror, blood, respiratory illness. (Starts at Ch 3 and gets worse from there).
Characters: All
Pairing: Moceit
Additional Notes: This one was supposed to be Darker and Longer, but turns out I'm not in the headspace to write angst atm, so it ends up moving p fast. Swaps between Janus and Patton's POVs. Post-PoF, light angst. Not whump. They both get hanahaki, but there is absolutely no version of Moceit in my mind where Janus isn't the one who falls first. My AO3 username is WizatdGlick.
Summary: The story of how Janus and Patton find each other at rock bottom and fall in love anyway.
A gentle knock on Janus' door drew him out of his thoughts. He donned a mask of triumph as he rose to open it, straightening his hat as he went. It couldn't be Remus; Remus never knocked so softly, which meant that Janus had to perform. He slid into the role with difficulty, struggling to find the edges of this gloating persona when all he felt was numb and tired and lost.
It was Patton at the door, and Janus felt everything slip, and Patton's eyes lit up with recognition, and all of Janus' resolve fell away in the face of that beseeching gaze.
"Come for another debate?" Janus asked in a low voice, making no effort to hide his ironical smile.
Patton smiled too, though he dropped it a moment too soon. Janus got the distinct impression that Patton was also far too wrung-out to put on any kind of act tonight. "Just came to check on you."
It would be as natural as breathing for Janus to draw back, place his fingertips delicately to his chest, widen his eyes. ' Check on me?' he would say, all faux-innocence, ' Please, Patton, I'm not a child. I don't need your pity.'
But he didn't.
Here was Patton, reaching out, and hadn't that been what Janus had wanted all along? That tiny, fervent flame that he hadn't allowed himself to acknowledge, that smallest ember of hope that someone might just give him what he was convinced he had to take.
The seconds stretched out until the silence verged on awkward, and Janus' pride stood up to do what his cunning would not: "I'm fine." He was fine, strangely. Not happy, as he perhaps should have been, but nothing hurt.
Patton's brow furrowed. "Am I supposed to believe that?" he asked gently.
Something warm and soft and dangerous bloomed in Janus' chest at Patton's look of confusion. He had freckles on his nose, scattered like spilled cinnamon: a trait assigned by Thomas’ subconscious. "Patton," Janus said, flicking his gaze upwards to meet Patton's eyes. "Would you like to come in?"
"To your room ?" Patton asked, eyes widening. He looked past Janus' shoulder and Janus fought not to move and block Patton's gaze with his body. He had just invited Patton in; there was no point getting shy now. "Won't that, y'know, do something to me?"
"It's just a matter of self-control," Janus said, hoping to get a smile out of Patton.
Sure enough, Patton did smile. "What color is my shirt?"
Janus said, "True blue," and stepped backwards to let Patton in.
It was a risk to bring someone into his room like this, but he felt unusually clear-headed tonight, calm and strangely secure despite the fact he had just let a known enemy past his defenses, and despite the exhaustion that made every breath feel heavy.
"Warm in here," Patton remarked, looking around.
Janus motioned him over to a set of armchairs. To be seen was to be judged, and he wasn't sure what he would do if Patton found him lacking again . "I have a question for you, Patton."
In the low light, the tear tracks on Patton's cheeks glimmered when he tilted his head inquisitively. "You do?"
Janus nodded, slow and calculated. He was sure he already knew the answer to the question, and preemptive anger bubbled thick and hot in his veins. "Who," he said, unable to keep from glaring, "came to check on you?"
"Well," said Patton, "Ah… They don't-- Everyone's upset right now--"
"And you're not?" Janus demanded. "And don't you dare tell me that you're fine." His emotions were running too hot; he needed to check himself, but seeing Patton make excuses filled him with a passion he'd only ever felt on Thomas' behalf.
"I am--"
"Don't."
"But I have to be," Patton whispered. "I can't-- I know they told me… They said it was okay for me to be sad, but--"
"If you fall apart, there's no one there to pick up the pieces," Janus guessed. "Sure, you can be sad, as long as it doesn't interfere with your role."
"Don't be mad at them," Patton pleaded, and Janus realized with a jolt that he would get into no one's good graces by slinging around insults.
"It's just hard," Janus said plainly, only half-noticing the words coming out of his mouth. He had just become aware of a keen and sickening new desire, borne on the back of a newfound respect for Patton that he had even lasted this long without having some sort of spectacular breakdown. Janus' whole chest ached with it, that and the equally sickening knowledge that he had just become horrifically vulnerable, that he had fallen under a spell he could never hope to break.
He saw it in his mind's eye: he saw himself stand and lean over, take Patton's jaw in his hands, kiss him long and deep and slow. He saw himself lay his body and soul bare before Patton, getting on his knees to forgive Patton all his perceived flaws. He meant well, after all. He only ever meant well, and it wasn't really his fault that those good intentions were capable of morphing into a cruel and deadly weapon.
But he would plunge that weapon straight into Janus' heart before their lips could ever even meet. Janus could see it now, Patton pulling away in confusion and disgust. His tenuous patience would give out then and there, and Janus would have no hope of acceptance ever again. Same for Remus, probably. They would remain Dark Sides forever, damned to be eternal outcasts. All thanks to Janus' pathetic inability to control himself.
"Why do you care so much about…" Patton hesitated for a moment and gave a shallow sigh. "Well, about me?"
And now Janus found himself walking a chasm’s edge. His instinct was to lean hard into the opposite of the truth and insult Patton so deeply that he left and never came back. Eliminate the threat. But that wasn't an option now of all times. No, he had to maintain a friendship with Patton, somehow. He had to keep himself under control. How fun. "You're a part of Thomas," Janus said. He paused.
"So are the others."
"You've earned my respect."
"Oh," said Patton. "Wow, um. Gosh, that's…" His lower lip trembled. "I should go," he said in a broken voice.
Janus surveyed him in silent agony, teetering on the precipice of a lie. With a monumental effort, he pulled himself away from it and opened his arms. "Come here."
The floodgates opened. Patton fell into Janus' lap, already sobbing. Janus held him, all his muscles stiff and awkward. He was much smaller in the mindscape than he was in Thomas’ eyes and it was difficult to support Patton’s much larger frame. A sharp pain flared in Janus’ collarbone where Patton had buried his forehead and his tears were already starting to seep through Janus' clothes. He cringed at himself and the absurdity of the situation, wishing he had some way to make it better. He should have had words for this, all the right words to soothe away Patton's worries and set him right again. But he was so tired.
"I'm s-s-sorry," Patton said through shuddering sobs that dug his forehead harder into Janus' clavicle.
"It's okay," Janus said, concentrating hard on keeping the effects of his room at bay.
"Are you--" Patton sniffled " --sure you're okay?"
A rush of affection melted Janus' heart and he sighed and held Patton closer despite the shooting pain in his collarbone and the ache in his arms. Even in the midst of a post-breakdown breakdown, Patton was self-sacrificing (self- destructive) enough to check in on him. "You don't have a selfish bone in your body, do you?" Janus sighed, lamenting Patton’s bleeding heart. For some reason, this only made Patton cry harder. Janus cast his mind back to the last time Remus was this upset, found nothing, had to speculate. He and Remus and Virgil were self-sufficient, secretive. When it came to personal crises, they weathered them alone and bore the aftermath in stoicism. "Do you want me to play with your hair?"
"I don't know," Patton sobbed into Janus' chest.
Janus sighed and began to run his fingers through Patton's honey-colored hair, grateful that the thick material of his gloves kept their skin from touching. It was better this way, and a good reminder for Janus. He guarded his heart so closely for a reason.

Janus, despite the discomfort from the awkward weight distribution and the clammy feeling of cooled tears on his shirt, was half-asleep in the chair by the time Patton stopped crying.
"Sorry," Patton said, pulling away, and even with snot and tears all over his flushed cheeks, even with his eyes all red and puffy behind his fogged-up glasses and his hair standing up at strange diagonals from Janus' attempts at comfort, he was radiant.
"For having feelings?" Janus asked, gently imaging himself into a new, dry shirt.
"For making them your problem." Patton took his glasses off and began to polish them on the hem of his own shirt.
"Patton, I need you to know this." Janus waited until Patton looked at him before continuing, "I owe you nothing. If I had wanted you to leave, I would have asked you to leave and thought nothing of it."
Patton nodded and went back to polishing his glasses. They were silent for a long moment, during which Janus found himself unable to suppress a series of yawns. It must have been around 4:00 in the morning by this point. They had to have been the only ones awake.
"Hey, Janus," Patton said, finally putting his glasses back on. "You know The Breakfast Club?"
"Yes," Janus said distractedly, trying to figure out where Patton was going with this.
"This wasn't our version of that, was it?"
"What do you mean?"
"When tomorrow comes and we're back to, to some sort of normal… You'll still be my friend, right?"
Now here was a situation Janus had never once envisioned for himself. He had pictured winning over Roman, had pictured gaining Thomas' support. Never once had he expected real friendship with any of them, let alone Patton. "Yes," he said, feeling sick at the irony of it. He had been comfortable as Patton's enemy, was now yearning for his kiss… How could he be friends with Patton when he burned like this for Patton's wholehearted affection? Was he really just supposed to endure it?
Patton smiled, so sweet and earnest that Janus had to bite down on his tongue. "Good," he said. "Speaking of, do you wanna have breakfast with me?"
"Not right now, I hope," Janus teased.
"No, no, not right now." Patton muffled a yawn into his sleeve. "I guess I'd better go."
Janus nodded. "See you in the morning?"
"Um," said Patton, who didn't appear to have been listening. "Thank you, Janus. You didn't have to-- Well, thank you."
He sank out without another word.
Janus imagined himself into his pajamas, imagined the lights off and threw himself onto his bed. "Fuck."

--

Frigid air seeped from the hallway seeped under the crack where Janus' door stopped just short of the carpet. He didn't allow himself to notice, and continued to put his outfit on piece by agonizing piece. The cold air made his joints slow and achy, and he struggled to get the clasps done up. It was just as well that he hadn't put on his gloves yet. He had become quite adept at handling things while wearing them, but for this task, the bulky fabric would only get in the way. After all, just like his singular snake fang, his gloves were for aesthetics, not function.
Finally, he donned his hat and faced the door, forced to confront that fatal truth: He could never have what he wanted. The moment he had achieved his goal of Thomas’ acceptance, the triumph had slipped away in his hands to be replaced with a truly unattainable goal.
Memories from last night, the phantom sensation of Patton in his arms, teased him until he had to sneer at himself. Pathetic. He was acting pathetic. Falling for Patton was strategically inadvisable, even if he couldn’t help it, but actively pursuing him was out of the question. It was all-risk, no reward. Still, his treacherous heart fluttered, teasing him with the thought of Patton’s lips on his own, Patton’s hands on his body, sharing heat, deepening the kiss--
“All risk,” Janus said out loud to himself, “no reward.” A mantra to see him through. He opened his door, his gloved hand slipping a little on the polished brass of his doorknob, and nearly walked straight into Remus as he passed by with an armful of dismembered dolls.
“Well,” said Janus, tilting his head to better examine the pile of plastic limbs and bodies in Remus’ arms, “I won’t ask what you’re up to.” He stifled a yawn behind his hand, visualizing a piping hot cup of coffee. A shudder wrecked his concentration and he frowned. “Are you the reason it’s so cold in here?”
Remus ignored the question, his feverish eyes darting from Janus’ mouth to his hand to his face. “I knew you were up late last night. That’s why I came this way.” He gave a crooked but strangely boyish grin. “I wanted to know where you’d gotten off to. Or who you’d gotten off with. ”
Janus, to his horror, blushed. Fragmented images flashed through his head-- What if he had kissed Patton? And Patton had kissed back? Mask, mask, mask! “I was spreading the Gospel.”
“You were spreading something , though, weren’t you?” Remus shifted the dolls in his arms and held up a masculine torso. “I know I heard Big Daddy’s voice. Play a little game of Patton- Snake , did you?”
Janus swore he could hear porcelain cracking as his heart began to race. “In all seriousness, Remus, we did reach an agreement.”
“Sounds like you reached more than that.” Remus waggled his tongue.
God, he was relentless when he was on the scent of something. Janus hid his face behind his hands, realizing a moment too late that this display of shame would only add fuel to the fire. So he took the only option left and muttered, “Boundaries,” into his palms.
“Oh,” said Remus, leaning back on his heels. “ Oh. Janus, you didn’t .”
“Of course we didn't!” Janus hissed, dropping his hands.
"But you wanted to?"
“How much did you hear yesterday, anyway?”
“Oh, I heard the whole debacle, including that heartwarming little moment at the end,” Remus said, rocking forward onto his toes. “Thanks for putting in a good word for me, by the way.”
They fell into an awkward silence as Janus once again reached for words that simply weren’t there. “I didn’t mean it,” he said finally, cursing himself.
“No?” said Remus. “Not even a teeny tiny little bit?” He poked Janus in the chest with the plastic torso, still clenched in his left hand. “Right here?”
“You,” said Janus, “are just as evil as I am.”
Remus backed off with a grin, leaving Janus in doubt that he had ever even been angry in the first place. “So where are you off to now? Roman’s got this place awfully cold; gonna go warm Patton’s snake?”
“You already made a ‘Patton snake’ joke,” Janus said, slamming another mask onto his face to hide his blush. “But to answer your question, he asked me to join him for breakfast.”
“Aww.” Remus wiped fake tears from his cheeks. “You better not start spending too much time with him or I’m going to get jealous.”

Pansmione
Cw: references to sex, clubs, death, illness (cancer), panic attacks
Pansy hated mornings. Well actually, that wasn’t necessarily true, she hated mornings alone. Especially after staying in clubs until 4am before giving up and going home to roll into bed for her useless three hours of sleep. Sometimes she loved mornings. Waking up in strange rooms, legs entangled with a girl she’d promise to call, breakfast and slow kisses. Empty promises buttering them up, lingering touches and shallow assurances. Their sweet smiles before she’d move on to the next. She could go days without sleeping in her own bed.
She could also go weeks waking up alone and groaning, walking into the kitchen for an aspirin and coffee. Trudging to work and taxingly signing papers off before walking home and getting dressed up ready for the thrawl of girls in the club. She knew this facade wouldn’t last forever, she was happy living like this. At least that’s what she told everyone. All she needed was intimacy for a night, and hey, at least she never had to be heartbroken. Not again. Once was enough to scare her away from love, forever.
She smiled in the mirror, threading diamonds through her ears and effortlessly swooping her hair into a bun. Red lips coating her enticing smile, lashes spidering around her eyes. A faint blush on her pale skin, light shadow colouring her eyes. Teeth flashing as she smiled that grin, slightly too sweet, too pure to be real. Soft wings framing her eyes. She ran her fingers through her hair, gently tugging a strand to the front, brushing it behind her ear. She stood up, checking her outfit before smirking in the mirror.
A black skirt grazing her thigh. Long red sleeves and v-necked crop top. Her lips turned up, pulling her heels on and grabbing her clutch before walking out. Hopefully she wouldn’t be back until tomorrow morning. She locked the door, bumping into her neighbour on the way out, “Hey Dan,” a smile forced its way onto her lips, she hated Dan. He rolled his eyes, “Evenin’ Pans, off to the club to prey on poor gals again?” Pansy rolled her eyes, “Same as usual. You’re eating a rotisserie chicken over the sink whilst you cry and sing along to the mamma mia soundtrack?” Dan glared, “Whatever Pans. Hope you score.” She smirked, “You too.”
The walk to the club was almost second nature now, her music blasting through her headphones as she hurried down the street. Bringing a jacket would have been smart Parkinson. Pansy flinched at the voice in her head, so caring, so soft, mimicking the same voice she longed for every night. The voice she’d never get to hear again. She shook it off, quickening her pace until she was in view of the club. Her face relaxed into a soft smirk, legs slowing to a casual pace. She nodded to the bouncer, smiling her signature smile, “Go on in, Parkinson.” She nodded, bidding him a good night and ignoring the soft chorus of groans from the que. The music swelled around her head, body swaying as if on instinct. She smiled towards the bartender who raised a gin and tonic in her direction. Her feet led her towards the bar, “Hey Jim, busy night?”
Jim smiled, gesturing vaguely to the thrum of dancers crowding the dancefloor. “You look great, as always.” Pansy grinned, downing her glass, “Thank you. Any cute blondes here tonight?” Jim rolled his eyes, “Still haven’t settled down Pans?” She chuckled, shrugging, “Still haven’t had a haircut J?” He glared playfully, running his hands through his hair, “You’re just jealous.” Pansy rolled her eyes, “My hair is so much better than yours, hate to break it to you.” Jim scoffed, “Sure, Pans. Anyway, there’s a blonde girl over there, goodluck.” Pansy smiled, leaning over the counter and refilling her glass before heading towards a group of girls in the corner.
He was right, she was very cute. Hair flowing over her shoulders, soft green eyes, in fact her whole face looked soft. Innocent. Pansy approached, her plan already circling her mind.  “Hi, could you hold my drink for me, please?” the blonde turned, smiling softly, “Of course, I’ll stay here.” Pansy smiled, “Thank you, I’m Pansy by the way.” The blonde smiled, “Arielle. I love your style.” Pansy grinned, “Thank you! You have to tell me where you got your dress when I get back.” Arielle blushed slightly as Pansy hurried to the bathroom, this would be almost too easy. She smiled in the mirror, checking her makeup before waiting to walk back out, tapping Arielle’s shoulder. She turned, smiling and passing Pansy her drink, “You must have gotten here early, I haven’t been able to get service.”
Pansy laughed softly, “That’s Jim for you.” Arielle paused, “Oh, you come here a lot?” Pansy’s brain froze, running over every possibility of an answer. “More than I’d like to admit. He’s a family friend, and I never have much to do on the weekends.” It seemed to work, the blonde’s lips turning up, “By the way it's from the boutique down the road, the one owned by the blonde and ginger couple?” Pansy smiled, “Gin and Luna?” Arielle nodded, “Yeah, you know them too?” Pansy rolled her eyes slightly, “School. God they were annoying.” That earned a laugh, her voice echoing around Pansy’s mind. “Shall I get you a drink?” Pansy offered, taking the nod as an opportunity to gently grab her wrist and pull her through the crowds.
“Jim. Jimmy! Oi.” Jim turned, raising his eyebrows, “Yeah Pans?” Pansy smiled, “Could you get a drink for Aphrodite here?” Arielle blushed, her cheeks tinted crimson. Pansy smirked at Jim’s scoff. Works a trick every time. “Sure, what do you want?” Arielle smiled, “Mojito please.” Jim nodded, “Coming right up.” Arielle smiled and turned to Pansy, “Does that work often?” Pansy blinked, unsure what to say, “W-what?” Arielle raised an eyebrow, “The whole goddess of beauty thing?” Pansy smiled softly, “I wouldn’t know. Did it?” Arielle blushed again, nodding.
Pansy smiled, far too easy, “You really are.” Arielle blushed, “Really what?” Pansy brushed her hair away from her face softly, “Beautiful.” She smiled softly as the blonde seemingly melted into her touch. They danced for an hour or two, kissing every now and then before Pansy pulled her to the side, kissing her, burying her hands in the soft, blonde locks. Arielle blushed, “Do you want to come to mine?” Pansy smiled, nodding, “I’d love to.”
She led her out of the bar, palm splayed over the small of her back, earning a wink from Jim as they left the buzz of music into the darkening street. Arielle’s flat was only a few blocks away, the walk filled with soft mutters and Pansy’s hand running along her arm, brushing her collar bone, watching as the blonde’s breath hitched. Arielle unlocked the door, stepping in and turning to Pansy who pressed their lips together. Arielle gasped softly, allowing Pansy’s tongue access, smirking against her lips. “If you don’t hurry out of that dress, I’ll have to apologise to Luna for ripping the fabric.” Arielle pulled away, tugging the dress over her head and stepping back into the kiss. “You’re so gorgeous.” Pansy muttered, feeling the blonde’s cheeks flush as her hands ran over her exposed spine.

Pansy couldn’t understand why but Arielle reminded her far too much of that night at the rock concert. Soft touches, stolen glances, a whirlwind romance. That’s all it had felt like, she’d never expected to fall in love with Granger of all people, with her easy smile, the passionate rambles, early morning coffees. God, she missed her more every day, they say your heartbreaks never fully leave, that they take time no one has to heal but Pansy had never believed it. She’d fallen too quickly, too easily, too hard. She’d fallen for a life too good to be true. Sometimes she wished she’d never gone to that stupid show. Would it have been better to, have not loved? Maybe even if she could have ignored those eyes, glistening in the lights behind the stage, brown curls sweeping down her back, soft lips curved into a smile, angelic voice screaming in pure joy, chanting along with the crowd. Pansy could scarcely breathe, she couldn’t let the memories back in, if she did, she might fall apart. She squeezed her eyes closed, praying the onslaught of images wouldn’t come for her...
Soft giggles filled the room, hair tickling Pansy’s nose as her fingers interlocked with Hermione’s. “Good morning, love.” she whispered softly, Granger’s eyes snapped up to hers, the same soft brown she’d fallen in love with the second she looked into them. She smiled, making Pansy’s heart flutter, even after all those months together. Her voice soft and sleepy as she murmured a good morning back. Looking down at her, everything felt perfect, the soft curve of her lips, gentle eyes. Pansy smiled, the words falling off her lips without a thought, “I love you, Hermione.” Hermione smiled, that sweet smile that made Pansy’s heart swell with joy. “I love you too, Pansy.”
“Pansy?” Arielle’s voice dragged her back to the present, tears welling in her eyes, “Hey, are you okay?” Pansy nodded, pushing the images of her smile, her whole world from her mind. “Yeah, just allergies.” Arielle nodded, “Sorry, I should’ve checked if feather pillows were okay. I was a little preoccupied.” She chuckled softly and Pansy forced herself to smile. “It’s okay. Want to get breakfast?” Arielle nodded, standing up and stretching, leaning down and kissing Pansy softly before walking into the kitchen. “Are pancakes okay?” Pansy mumbled a reply of some sort, following her in and hugging her from behind. Arielle smiled, turning and kissing her cheek. Pansy smiled back before noticing the smile she was mirroring was tinged with sadness. “What's wrong?” she whispered. Arielle shook her head softly, “It’s all a game to you, and I knew that. So don’t act all sweet.”
“Don’t act all sweet now!” Hermione’s voice rang through the room, playful laughter making Pansy’s heart swell. “I took Marlebone, you can have Piccadilly. Overdramatic bitch.” she retorted, smirking smugly. Granger rolled her eyes, kissing her cheek, “Your overdramatic bitch though!” Pansy grinned, kissing her softly, “Yeah, until the day I die.” Hermione paused, “Or I die, Pans.” Pansy froze, “What? I’ll still-” Hermione shook her head, pulling away and looking down, “No, you have to move on. Find someone else who can make you as happy as you’ve made me.”
“Okay? Drop the act.” Pansy shook her head softly, “It's-not- I don’t want to play anymore. But I don’t know how else to-” the tears rolled down her cheeks, she could hardly keep the memories at bay, her mind was racing, too full of pain and joy and every feeling in between. Her eyes couldn’t focus, her lungs had forgotten how to work, her breaths shallow.
“You’re going to be okay. You have to be.” Pansy’s voice was quiet in the buzz of the hospital room. She didn’t want the test results back, she wanted the ignorance. She didn’t want to know that her girlfriend, her soulmate, was leaving. She had to be okay. She just had to be- Hermione’s smile was sad, and what made it worse was that as much as pain as she was in, she still tried to be the comforting person Pansy had fallen for. “Hey, come here?” Pansy sat next to her, resting her head on Mione’s shoulder. “You’re going to be okay, okay? No matter what happens to me, you’re so strong.” Pansy shook her head, holding her tighter, “Not without you.” Hermione whispered quietly, “You might not get a choice.”

“Hey hey, breathe in for five, hey Pansy look at me.” Pansy’s eyes snapped up to Arielle’s worried ones. She dragged air in, lips trembling as the air suffocated her. Too much, but not enough. “You’re okay, breathe. And out for seven, you’re going to be okay.” Pansy shook her head again, crumpling to the floor, her head in her hands, knees wobbling beneath her. Arielle crouched beside her, rubbing her back softly, “Hey hey, look at me. Where have you always wanted to go?” Pansy’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, “Vegas- we were going to m-move there.” Arielle smiled softly, slowly figuring out more than Pansy ever let anyone know. More than Pansy even let herself think about. “Okay, what's your favourite childhood memory?” Pansy smiled slightly, “It was at school, me and my friends weren’t the nicest people. But there was always this one girl who saw us differently, even though we were racist dicks. And she was beautiful, mind, body and soul kind of beautiful.” she chuckled softly, despite herself, “Young, closteted, very unaware gay me didn’t understand why I was so drawn to her. But one day I was crying and having a panic attack. My ‘friends’ all called me dramatic and thought I was faking it, it was a very uh sheltered school. No one knew much about the real world. But this girl did, and she told them to piss off…”
“Piss off Malfoy. Leave her alone.” The girl’s voice echoed around Pansy’s head, her mind unable to place the face she knew she should know. “Or what? What are you going to do, you filthy little-” her fist swung, hitting him square in the jaw, causing him to yelp out in pain, turning and running with his band of followers. Pansy felt arms wrap around her, vanilla and the smell of old books encasing her in a warm feeling of safety, of home. “Pansy? It’s Pansy right?” Pansy nodded slightly, and the girl smiled, “You’re going to be okay, this is just a panic attack. I know it feels like the world is crumbling all around you, like you can’t breathe. But I promise you’re going to be okay. It’s your mind tricking you, I promise. Do you trust me?” Pansy found herself nodding, breathing steadying slightly, “Okay, can you tell me your favourite professor?” Pansy nodded, “Mcgonagall.” The girl smiled, “She’s my favourite too. Why is she your favourite?” Pansy paused, “She’s safe, and fair, unlike my stupid head of house. And she has the best subject…” Pansy rambled on until her breathing steadied, looking up into soft brown eyes, shock painting her features, “H-how did you know that would work?” The girl smiled softly, “My best friend has them, so do I, sometimes. I’m Hermione by the way, but my friends call me Mione.” Pansy smiled doubtfully, “We’re friends?” Hermione nodded, “Of course, you need far better friends than those douches. Come on, do you feel like hot chocolate?” Pansy raised an eyebrow, “Third years aren’t allowed to-” Mione smirked, “It’s kind of fun isn’t it, breaking the rules.”
Pansy grinned softly, “That was the first time I’d tried hot chocolate.” Arielle smiled, “How old were you?” Pansy laughed softly, “Thirteen.” Arielle’s mouth fell open, “And you’d never had hot chocolate!?” Pansy shook her head, “She showed me a lot of new things. She showed me how to love myself, how to play chess. Actually, that was her friend Ron. He beat one of the teachers in a game at 11. We never let Minnie live that down-” Pansy cut herself off, “Sorry, you don’t want to hear me ramble.” Arielle shook her head, “Of course I do. Can I ask a kind of personal question?” Pansy nodded slowly, leaning back against the sofa leg. “Was Hermione the one that broke your heart?” Pansy gulped softly, shaking her head, “No. Cancer did.”
“Y-you can’t leave me.” her voice shook, clutching at Mione’s arm. She’d known this was coming for weeks but it was still too sudden, too many years stolen from them. Hermione’s voice was raspy but still the same soft voice Pansy had fallen in love with all those years ago. “I don’t want to, love. Believe me, I wish I had forever with you, but this is my infinity. And some infinities are simply longer than others.” Pansy smiled softly, ‘trust her to reference fault in our stars now’ desperately willing the tears to stay back. She couldn’t cry now, she had to stay strong, for everything Mione had ever done. Every smile, every kiss in the morning. And she never got to have it again, she never wanted it again, not with anyone else. “I don’t want a forever without you in it.” she whispered. Hermione smiled sadly, “You have to. You have to live, for both of us, go to Vegas for me?” Pansy nodded, wiping her tears away. “D-do you remember that time at the beach? It was after you were diagnosed. I promised you that no matter how old I was, I’d spend every anniversary looking out over the ocean. S-sat right there, with you, because you’ll be there. You’ll be in my heart forever.” Hermione smiled softly, eyes fluttering shut, voice barely audible, “I love you Pansy.” Pansy’s heart sank, the world falling to dust around her as her soulmate’s chest fell for the last time. “I love you too, forever, Hermione Parkinson.”

ripple effect - part eight
Tumblr media
Summary: During her fourth year at Hogwarts, (y/n) Deauxville falls for none other than Cedric Diggory. But it's not easy when you have to deal with protecting your family's fortune, keeping your father's illness a secret and having two of your closest friends catch feelings for you.
Pairings : reader x cedric, reader x draco, reader x harry
“You’ll never guess what happened today.” Ron says, hurrying to catch up to you as you enter the Great Hall for dinner.
“What, Ron?” You say amused.
“We think Hagrid fancies Madame Maxine.”
“Finally found a woman his size huh.” You grin looking at Hagrid in his mismatched suit fumbling next to Beauxbaton headmistress.
“ Who do you reckon the Goblet will pick.” Says Harry, materialising beside you.
“ Krum for sure.”
“ B-but what if he gets injured, he’s the best seeker!” Ron stutters, turning pale.
“ You should come sit at the Slytherin table if you wanna meet him so bad.”
“Yeah right. They would slit my throat before dessert.” Ron scoffs.
“Suit yourself.” You say before splitting up to your respective tables.
“My mother wants you all to know that you’re all invited to the Malfoy’s New Years ball, as always, and she’s sending out the official invitations next week.” Draco says, sipping on his pumpkin juice.
“ Oh my god! I think Astoria is finally old enough to attend her first ball. Do any of you already have a dress?” Daphnees exclaims, turning to you and Millicent.
“ Balls are boring, the only fun part is the after party.” Theo says stifling a yawn.
“(y/n), I hope you don’t mind, but my mother’s already picked out a selection of dresses for you. I tried to stop her but,” Draco says, his ears turning slightly red.  “erm she wouldn’t listen. Anyways, she’s sending them over as soon as heavenly possible.” He finishes, imitating his mother’s posh voice.
“ That’s fine, your mom has a good eye for clothes anyways.” You smile reassuringly.
You and Draco had been each other’s dates for formal events ever since you could remember. It was just easier, not having to worry about finding a date. And (y/n) also knew that  Narcissa Malfoy would have loved to have a daughter and that shopping for (y/n) brought her so much joy.
“Well, the goblet is almost ready to make its decision,” said Dumbledore. “I estimate that it requires one more minute. Now, when the champions’ names are called, I would ask them please to come up to the top of the Hall, walk along the staff table, and go through into the next chamber where they will be receiving their first instructions.”
The flames in the cup turned from blue to red and silence overtook the hall. It sputtered and a charred piece of parchment flew out.
“The champion for Durmstrang,” Dumbledore read, in a clear voice, “will be Viktor Krum.”
All the Durmstrand students jumped up cheering in foreign languages and patting Krum on the back.
“Bravo, Viktor!” boomed Karkaroff, so loudly that everyone could hear him, even over all the applause. “Knew you had it in you!” Viktor stands up, his lips slightly upturned and goes to the chamber.
The silence comes back when the Goblet starts sputtering again.
“The champion for Beauxbatons,” said Dumbledore, “is Fleur Delacour!”
The remainder of the Beauxbaton students were absolutely devastated, some of them even crying. The other students were too busy ogling Fleur to cheer. She graciously slips into the other chamber.
The whole room is practically shaking with excitement as the cup starts sputtering again.
Not Nick please.
“The Hogwarts champion,” Dumbledore calls, “is Cedric Diggory!” Every single Hufflepuff jumped to his or her feet, screaming and stamping, as Cedric made his way past them, grinning broadly. He winks as he passes by you, making your heart melt. The applause for Cedric seemed to be neverending. Even Draco gave in and started clapping.
“Excellent!” Dumbledore called happily as the cheering died down. “Well, we now have our three champions. I am sure I can count upon all of you, including the remaining students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, to give your champions every ounce of support you can muster. By cheering your champion on, you will contribute in a very real —”
But Dumbledore suddenly stopped speaking. The fire in the goblet had just turned red again. Sparks were flying out of it. Another paper popped out of it. Dumbledore looks perplexed.
“Harry Potter.”
The entire room was looking at Harry, who looked shell shocked. For a split second, your eyes meet. “Harry Potter!” Dumbledore calls again. “Harry! Up here, if you please!”. Slowly he stands and awkwardly waddles to the top table. “Well . . . through the door, Harry,” said Dumbledore.
“It’s always bloody Potter. How did that fucking pinhead manage to trick the Goblet.” Blaise says venomously.
“ He’s Dumbledore’s little darling, that’s how.” Draco says, his jealousy leaking through each syllable. You were about to jump to Harry’s defense but decided against it, not wanting to start more conflict.
“God, the Hufflepuff party is gonna be wicked. Allison Odgen’s in Hufflepuff, Ogden as in Old Odgen’s Firewhiskey and I heard that she’s got two whole crates of firewhiskey just for tonight.” Theo says, musing.
“ I heard a couple of seventh year Puffs stole a shiton of weed from the Greenery too.” Milicent adds.
“What party?”
“The one for Cedric, duh” Daphne says while wrapping an arm around your shoulder.
“Oh. In the common room?”
“No, at the bottom of the lake.” Theo answers sarcastically. “C’mon let’s go before it gets too crowded.”
“You guys go ahead, I'll be there soon.” You say crestfallen, as your friends hurry out of the Hall. (y/n) had been looking forward to finally spending time alone with Cedric. He was supposed to show you around the Hufflepuff common room but you had a feeling that wasn’t going to happen because of the party. After a while, you find yourself alone in the gigantic Hall, which is a very eerie feeling. The candles had burned low and shapes were flickering on the stone walls. The silence makes your ears ring and you decide to just meet Cedric at the party when a voice makes you jump.
“So,” said Cedric to Harry, with a slight smile. “We’re playing against each other again!”
“I s’pose,” said Harry.
“Harry! Cedric!” They both jump, not having noticed you in the dark hall. You run and grab Harry in a hug.
“Harry! What on earth happened?”
“I didn’t put my name in!” He desperately shouts, his voice cracking.
“I know, I know.” He gazes at you for a couple seconds, making sure you believed him.
“Do you want me to come to the Gryffindor common room with you?”
Harry takes one look at Cedric’s clenched jaw and your worried face. “No it’s fine. I’ll erm see you tomorrow. Enjoy yourself tonight, we’ll figure it out in the morning” And with that he leaves.
“No hug for this champion?” Cedric says pouting.
“Of course!” You say, throwing yourself against him. “I’m so excited for you.”
The golden flickering lights of the dying candles made his lips look even more inviting than usual. The Hall that had looked so daunting minutes ago, now looked like a safe haven. His grey eyes are fixed on yours and he slowly leans in. You close your eyes, feeling his hot breath on your mouth when someone coughs loudly. Your eyes flicker open while Professor Moody limps out of a dark corner.
“P-professor!” You croak.
“You are just like your mother, Miss Deauxville, coercing well raised boys into doing your dirty work.” You look at him, mouth agape. “As for you, Mr.Diggory, I suggest you stay away from these types of women.”
Cedric looks like he’s about to pounce on Moody, but you grab his forearm.
“Ced let’s go.” You say softly, while Moody stands there as if daring Cedric to hurt him. You try pulling him away but he’s far stronger and heavier than you. Finally he gives in to your tugging, puts a hand on your back and leads you out of the hall. The two of you walk in silence.
“Cedric” You say, grabbing his hand. “It’s not a big deal, let it go. He’s just a psycho old man.”
“It’s not about that.” He mutters, staring ahead.
“What is it about then?” You say as you near the Hufflepuff common rooms. The hallway was vibrating with the beat of the music playing inside.
“It’s about the fact that he interrupted our kiss.”
Cedric brings his hands up to your face and flashes you his blinding white teeth. He leans down and barely pecks your lips before the door of the common room swings open.
A drunk Ernie Mcmillan stumbles out and you see Cedric’s eye twitch.
“Ayyyy it’s Dedric Cigorrry. The whole house s’been looking for you Cigarette.” He manages to say before vomiting the contents of his stomach in a nearby barrel. You and Cedric move past him and enter the common room. The place is decorated in an embarrassing amount of posters bearing Cedrics face, Hufflepuff banners hang from every corner and music is blasting so loud that the furniture shakes slightly.
“I promise I will show you this place when it’s not trashed.”Cedric manages to say before a mob of girls in yellow robes swarm him.
“Cedric! We organized all of this!” The leader says motioning to the group of girls and the posters of his face.
“Er wow. Thank you so much.” He flashes them his million dollar smile. The crowd forming around him was making you claustrophobic so you go sit with your brother and his friends.
“Aren’t you going to congratulate him?” You ask the boys who are sitting at a large round table in the corner.
“Yeah of course, once the fan club’s done.” Graham says, his eyes focused on the paper he's cutting.
“We’re having a blunt rolling competition.” Xavier says motioning to the dried leaves on the table.
“Aah, can I join?”
“No. You can be the judge.” Your brother says.
“You’re such a narc Nick.” You say while pulling out a chair.
A clearly fucked up Jeremy laughs. “Nick the Narc. That’s funny.”
You moved around from friends to friends during the most of the night, but the only presence you craved was Cedric’s. He was surrounded by people congratulating him but finally he broke free and headed to the table with his friends. You make a beeline towards his, leaving Daphne on the dance floor. She doesn’t notice, she’s too busy dancing her heart out with a group of Hufflepuff girls. All the boys hug him and he’s smiling like an idiot.
“Ced, have i evver told you-” Jeremy starts slurring but he stumbles forward. “Alohaa” He throws his hands up and start swaying.
“Cedric, man! You’re gonna win this thing I have a feeling.” Nick says ruffling his hair.
“What d’ya want.” Graham says motioning to the different baggies on the table.
“I’ll have whatever he’s having.” Cedric says motioning to Jeremy who was swaying back and forth with a paper bag on his head.
“(y/n) wanna have a shotgunning contest. If you win you can have my shoes. If I win you have to kiss me” Peregrine says holding a tray full of firewhiskey shots.
“Why would I want your shoes?” You say, glancing at his black tennis shoes.
“I dunno.”
“Fine, let’s do it.”
Graham starts lining up the shots, seven each.
“ My bet is on Peregrine, physically he stands a better chance.” Xavier says with all the authority of a rocket scientist.
“You have no clue how much the Deauxville’s can drink then.” Nick says, nursing his own drink.
You give Peregrine a competitive smirk. “Three, two, one, go!”
When shotgunning whiskey, the first three shots are always the hardest. The first burns your throat like you’ve just swallowed a big gulp of salt water. The second one, if done fast enough, numbs all sensation in your mouth. The third one is when most lightweights die off, it sends electric shocks through your body. After the shock of the third one, all the others seem dull. The faster you go the more time you’ll have before the alcohol in your blood reaches your brain. After that your vision will start clouding and you can maybe manage two more before you’ll collapse or hurl your brains out. Luckily for you, Peregrine dies off after your fifth shot and stumbles to a nearby basket.
“Learned from the best.” Nick says proudly. Cedric’s mouth is agape.
“Wanna go again?” You tease when Peregrine comes back.
“Christ! You’re good” He says taking his shoes off and throwing them at you. You catch them easily.
“Nick pass the weed!” (y/n) hollers at her brother.
“Yeah Nick, don’t be such a weed hog.” Cedric says.
“Nick the Hogweed student. That’s funny.” Jeremy says muffled by his paper bag.
You take a moment to look around the room. You had to give it to Cedric, the Hufflepuff common room was beautiful. The high ceilings had copper lighting fixtures that sent golden light through the space. The walls were full of hanging plants and the floors were covered in plush mismatched carpets. Soft couches and wooden tables were scattered around the room. At the moment the room was full of Hufflepuff students, a handful of Ravenclaw and the eternity of  the Slytherin population of Hogwarts because they would rather die than have a Gryffindor champion. You spot Theodore and Draco on a nearby couch. Some blonde sixth year girl is eating Theo’s face. Draco is playing with the thick rings on his fingers not paying attention to Pansy’s storytelling. Milicent is part of a group of students sitting on the grand piano, singing furiously along to the lyrics of the song. Blaise is too drunk to notice that the girl he’s flirting with happens to be a very tall plant. And Daphne is dancing with Hannah Abott. You do a double take. Daphne is now kissing Hannah Abott.
The kissing reminds you of the interrupted kiss between you and Cedric. You sneak a peek at his lips. Just then Xavier drops something heavy in the middle of the table. It’s a deck of cards in the middle of the table.
“Strip poker!” Peregrine shouts excitedly.
“You wish.”
“I’m the card dealer.” Graham says, grabbing the deck.
“Xavier you forgot the poker chips dumbass.” Graham says.
Xavier sighs “Yeah, couldn't find them. It’s okay though, we can use-”
“Shoes!” Peregrine says, toppling his drink on the floor.
“Peregrine, I have your shoes.”
“Oh well fuck, i’m on team (y/n) then” Peregrine says.
You motion for Draco to come sit because he’s the best player you know. He sits and rolls his eyes at the shoe idea but agrees to play.
“Well boys, start saying goodbye to your shoes.”
Two hours and 11 pairs of shoes later, most of the partygoers had cleared out. You were glad to find your white sneakers still clad to your feet. After the game had started, so many people joined but you and Draco were the only ones still wearing shoes. He had fared better though, with 15 pairs of shoes.
The air in the common room was thick with smoke, the music had stopped except for some Ravenclaw playing his heart out on the piano. (y/n) is lying on a couch with her head in Cedric’s lap, her feet on top of a sleeping Jeremy. Theo as usual was nowhere to be found and you suspected that Daphne was in Hannah Abbott’s dorm. Blaise was still relentlessly talking to his plant, the boy could talk about himself for hours on end.
Cedric plays with your hair.
“I’mm tired.” You slur lazily.
He chuckles.“(y/n) you can’t fall asleep here.”
“Whyy?”  You pout up at him.
“Because Nick already looks like he’s going to hex me.” You blow a strand out of your face and turn your head towards your brother. You sigh, not wanting to create new tensions between you and your brother.
“Blondie, take me homee.” You holler at Draco.
“Gladly.” He says helping you up.
You throw Cedric his shoes. He dodges your clumsy throw that was heading straight to his face.
“There you go Cinderella.”
“Goodnight (y/n)” He chuckles.
(y/n) and Draco are walking down a dark hallway illuminated only by the pale moonlight, your footsteps resonating. You stop in your tracks.
“Draco, I've just had a brilliant idea.”
He doesn't answer, just raises his eyebrows.
“The shoes. On the… fuck whats it called. The big light thing?”
“A chandelier.” He sighs, shaking his head.
“Yes! Chandelier. We hang all the shoes on the chandelier in the great hall.”
“And how are we going to do that?”
“ God I don't know! You’re supposed to be the smart one.”
He sighs deeply, but takes your hand and starts walking towards the great Hall.
When the two of you were done, they’re were 26 pairs of shoes hanging on the chandelier. From sneakers to dainty ballerina flats.
“The chandelier looks so much better now, see? We should do this to all the chandeliers in our houses”
“I’ll make sure to tell  my mother to keep it in mind.”
“Let’s get out of here.”
“Finally,” Draco says looking at his thick silver watch. “It’s 4:38 am.”
“No point in going to sleep then.”
“You’re insane.” He chuckles, catching you as you stumble forward.
You smirk devilishly. “ I just can’t wait to see everyone’s face at breakfast tomorrow.”

But Not Today
A/N: Hello y’all. This is a heavier fic and is a way for me to channel me feelings as most of my fics are and will be, especially because it comforts me that people out there feel the same as I do and hopefully through these fics find they are also not alone. I struggle with depression and suicidal ideation/thoughts like many of you do and there’s too many fics that glorify and glamorize the hardships and always end with cure fluffy “I’m always there for you.” No, some people don’t have others to talk to and sometimes the mental illness wins. In all sincerity, if you are feeling like you have no one to talk to, no to listen to you, you can always PM me or send me an anon because I know that feeling well and it’s not a good one. If you want a part two, lemme know, otherwise how it ends is how it ends.
Disclaimers/CW: suicidal thoughts, suicidal actions, pills/overdose, drinking, depression (lemme know if I missed something)

This month has been absolute hell and is why you find yourself down the rabbithole. Sure, you have friends who have reassured you that they are there to help emotionally but you’ve been fucked over too many times in the past to truly believe any of that.
Which is why you find yourself where you are now.
The TV plays on the background but you process none of the audio. The sounds of the city play like a symphony throughout your apartment, but you don’t smile and sway. No, you, on the couch, hunched over with elbows on your knees, staring at a pill bottle and a bottle of whiskey, is how the music finds you, empty.
You don’t have the energy to cry, you don’t have the energy to move, you don’t have the energy to...exist. Breathing is now too hard, and the stillness of your body is reflected in the stillness of the apartment, save for the television.
A heavy sigh leaves your lips as you rub your hands on your face and then once again take up the staring contest with the pill bottle. After a beat of silence, your right hand moves to take the bottle of whiskey and swig it hard, the familiar burning sensation in your throat doing absolutely nothing for you as it hasn’t been for the past couple of weeks.
Today was a battle that you were on the verge of losing but you don’t know how to accept the loss. Stabbing or cutting yourself is too messy and would you even hit the right vein to die fast enough? You could jump from the apartment complex’s rooftop and would certainly die on impact, but that’s too public, you want to go quietly. Putting a bullet through your brain seemed like a good option, but it’s too much noise and you have no idea the first place to start looking into gun ownership in Korea. You’ve known people you have attempted suicide by pill overdose, and it wasn’t the most effective method of killing oneself, but it was certainly one of the easiest and one of the quietest ways to go, especially if you could die in your sleep.
In this past month, you’ve been distancing yourself further and further from your friends who began to worry about you dearly, but, to you, not enough. None of them bothered to try to see you, come by your place, just shot you texts and a couple of calls saying they’re always there or some other bullshit. But Wooyoung was extremely persistent in this. He knows you liked your space and the last time he tried to help you emotionally you blew up at him and dug into his heart like a knife, attacking him in such a way that left him in tears rather than you.
Tonight, though, Wooyoung decided to blow up your phone at every chance he could between practice with the boys and eating and doing other errands he needed that day. You might have hurt him in the past, but he still cares deeply for you regardless.
However, you couldn’t be bothered to pick up the phone and answer him, so your cell was on Do Not Disturb.
You’re not sure what came over you, but you lift yourself off the couch and shuffle to your door, slowly slipping your feet out of your slippers and slowly slipping your feet into your sneakers, leaning down to loosely tie the laces.
Your grip on the wooden door is gentle, twisting the knob and pulling it open a more caring act than it should have been. As the door shut behind you, you, void of keys, wallet, phone, communication, identification, didn’t look back or bother to double-check if it closed all the way. Guided by something, you’re not sure what, you move forward, your feet shuffling towards the elevator and taking a ride down.
At the first floor you step out, a solemn step that holds no purpose, to you at least. Perhaps fate is guiding you somewhere, perhaps you’re guiding yourself, perhaps nothing guides you and it’s all meaningless.
The streets and sidewalks glisten with water, reflecting the neon lights of clubs, the primary colors of 24/7 convenience stores, storing the sounds of honking taxis, shared laughs of lovers, and the bustling of a street corner and the calmness of another. As life goes, as life is, as life will be.
You can’t say that you’ll miss this -- fake order in a world of chaos. You can’t say that you’ll miss that -- imagined purpose for a meaningless existence.
As you wander, you find yourself taking in nothing at all and everything at once, your alcohol-idled mind creating figures that aren’t there and sounds that don’t exist. Yet when your vision clears again, you find yourself standing at the barrier of a bridge on the highway, looking down into the vast expanse of the ocean; you’ve apparently walked for quite a while.
The depths of the water below look inviting, dark and crashing together, a blanket of sorrow which is oddly comforting to your empty mind, perhaps because it makes you feel something. With your arms folded, you lean your full weight onto the barrier, contemplating whether or not you should jump -- sure, it would be a bit of effort to hoist yourself over said barrier, but it’s a guaranteed death unlike an overdose.
“YAH, Y/N, WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!” A male voice paired with boots slapping on wet concrete worms its way into your ears, but you have no reaction; the beckoning of the ocean nearly drowns out his voice anyway.
Suddenly, you feel a strong hand grip your upper arm and whip you around, forcing you to stare into the fearful eyes of the owner of the voice. His other hand came up and gripped your other arm just as tightly, searching your face, your eyes, for something...something...a sign of something.
You took a moment to observe this man, taking in the way his eyes were red and puffy, the fear and relief a sharp contrast shaking hands in his eyes, and a shiny upper lip, probably from snot from his crying earlier.
You feel Wooyoung pull you into him tightly, barely allowing you to breathe. He squeezes you with nearly everything in him, the state of your apartment and the possibilities of what happened running through his head nonstop.
It was nearing 11PM and Wooyoung was genuinely concerned that you weren’t picking up. You were not doing well for a while, he could tell by your abrupt and simple messages, declining every chance to hang out and/or catch dinner, refusing to even take a walk together. But this time was different -- you were flat out ignoring him and not answering any of his calls or texts and this had him greatly on edge. It reminded him of a friend he used to have in high school who was so hard on himself that he nearly killed himself right in front of Wooyoung; Wooyoung couldn’t go through that again.
He decided to tell the boys that he’s going to your apartment to check up on you and the other boys, worried about you as well, told him that they’re here to help in any way they could.
He travelled to your apartment, using the spare key you gave him to get through the lobby door and using your access code for the lock on the door. The scene that met his eyes made his heart drop into his stomach and a sense of dread fell over him.
Your kitchen floor was scattered with shards of porcelain from one or two of your dinner plates, he couldn’t tell. The vase of flowers that he sent a few days ago were knocked over on the counter, creating a puddle on the table and a wet spot on your carpet, the lip of the glass vase chipped. The TV was running, some stupid drama that was out of character for you to watch. But the coffee table and its contents is what made him feel genuine fear for the first time in a long time.
The bottle of whiskey was half-full, sitting next to a bottle of pills. He made his way over, carefully, brushing porcelain shards out of the way with his foot, as he sat exactly where you once sat not too long ago. He took in your cell you left on the floor near the balcony windows and the keys sitting by the TV and your wallet laid in front of your bedroom door that was open.
His attention turned back to the pill bottle and he reached out a shaky hand, reading the label and having trouble keeping his eyes dry. He opened it, hoping against all hope that you didn’t open it, that maybe, maybe you changed your mind at the last second.
Uncontrollable tears left his eyes and snot started running down his nose and his breathing quickened and his chest constricted as he found the bottle unsealed, meaning you did something he hoped you didn’t do.
You mumble something and Wooyoung didn’t quite catch what you said, but he could ask later; all he wants to focus on is you, in his arms, very much real, very much alive, very much on planet Earth, very much here. He breathes in your scent deeply as a reassurance to himself and he doesn’t plan on letting you out of his sight any time soon.
Yet you had no reaction. You just stand there, letting him do what he needs to do to convince himself that you’ll still be around after this, that the mix of the pills you took and the alcohol the bottle said explicitly to not take with the pills fogging your mind.
He eventually pulls away, looking back in your eyes for something, something, something. He notices they’re glazed over and out of focus, dread creeping back to him.
He cups your face in one of his hands and asks, “Were you going to jump?” His voice is shaky at best, doing poorly in concealing his fear, his rage, his dread, his every emotion currently.
“Maybe,” is what you answer. You look briefly back at the ocean, craning your neck a little to look directly at the welcoming ocean again then turn your attention back to Wooyoung. “But not today,” you continue. “Perhaps tomorrow, perhaps next week, perhaps next month, perhaps next year. But not today.”
You feel yourself about to collapse from the dangerous concoction in your veins but Wooyoung barely notices, his mouth running about something but you process nothing.
“My dear friend,” you mumble, and the sound of your voice shuts up the man in front of you, grabbing his attention.
“I’m...sleep...slee...wha’s it?...sleepy, yeah...sleepy,” you manage to get out before collapsing onto the boy, your consciousness slipping from you and a huff of air escaping from the other human presence from your impact.

My World
Hello everyone and welcome to my new story. Based VERY LOOSLY on Shameless because I only saw one clip and it gave my inspiration. {Sorry for the crappy title I’m not that creative Dx} Disclaimer: I do not own Haikyuu or Shameless Character: Hajime Iwaizumi Genre: Angst with fluff Warnings: None for this chapter
Tumblr media
Mornings in the {L/N} household were usually calm and organized. Yuki and Shouta would be dressed for school and and {Y/N} would have had breakfast ready to go. Usually. Today was not that day. A certain older sibling had forgotten to set an alarm, causing the usually calm mornings to erupt into pure and utter chaos. “YUKI, SHOUTA lets go!” {Y/N} Hollered up the stairs. She clicked her tongue as she got their backpacks together. Slipping the bentos that she had made up last night. She was about to holler again when two sets of footsteps came down the stairs. She let out a sigh of relief as she slipped jackets onto the smaller kids. “No breakfast today?” Yuki's blue eyes bore into her older sisters eyes. This question was not said with any ill intent, but out of childlike curiosity. {Y/N} felt her heart break at the question and just shook her head. “Not today baby, but I promise tomorrow I will wake up bright and early and make you your favorites ok?” Earning a nod of approval from both kids. “Now, were all running late and all I have right now are pop tarts. I'm really sorry guys.” Handing them each a package she made a mental note to buy more just in case. After ushering both kids out of the house and on their way to the school she ran back inside to get her purse and work jacket. In her attempt to lock the door quickly she dropped the keys. As she was leaning down to get them her phone rang. She groaned and answered without looking. “Hello?” she grumbled into the phone. Hoping whoever it was on the other end could sense her frustrations. “That's not very friendly {Y/N}-Chan. And here I was calling to give you good news.” She froze hearing that voice. Almost breaking into tears. “I'm running late for work ShittyKawa, better make it fast.” came her snarky reply, hoping that he didn't hear the break in her voice. She looked at her watch and began to make her way to the train station. Running was no longer an option and she hoped she didn't get fired. Not that she was usually late, but that was always her fear. “Ignoring the out of pocket behavior from you,” So he did notice, she thought, “Me and Iwa-chan will be coming home for a little bit. He’s out of school for spring break, and the team gave us a month vacation!” He finished with a huge smile on his face. She couldn't help but smile. She missed her boys so much. “You both get to buy me lunch for leaving me!” she decided. “For all my pain and suffering.” “Says you Miss Tokyo U!” he laughed along with her. Upon hearing those the weight of everything came crashing back down. “Anyway 'Kawa, I am late for work so I gotta get off. Love and miss you both!” She said and hung up without waiting for a reply. Once on the train she let her thoughts take over. She knew that he would be worried, because her behavior was indeed off, but how was she supposed to tell him that she didn't go to Tokyo U and was taking online classes at night from a local community college? How was she supposed to tell her best friend and boyfriend that her mother up and left leaving her two kid siblings in her care? Sitting down on the seat she glanced out the window. “How do I tell you my life fell apart when yours just began?” She whispered. Hearing her phone buzz she glanced back down at her lap. It was a message from Hajime's mother.
Don't worry about the kids. I'll make sure they come here after school. Take care of yourself as well {Y/N}. She owed that woman so much, and she fully intended to pay her and her husband back.

Oikawa starred at his phone. There was something in the way that she spoke to him. He sighed and closed his eyes. Before he could even form a thought the smell of coffee was right in his face. Opening his eyes he noticed his best friend with two cups. “You are the best Iwa-Chan!” she grinned taking the cup from him. “Yeah yeah. Did you tell her?” Iwaizumi asked him. Oikawa just nodded at him. Before freezing up. “Whats that look for Shittykawa?” “I may not have told her we would be home tonight?” Iwaizumi just starred at him, reminding him of high school. “Well just have to swing by Tokyo to see her tomorrow. It'll be a surprise.” He waved his hand brushing off his mistake. He was supposed to mention that but he was distracted by the break in her voice. “Iwa, have to talked to her recently?” he asked gently. “Its been a few weeks. I called her during finals week and she sounded stressed. To be honest I've been worried about her. My mom wont tell me anything besides its been stressful for her. Not sure what that means. I hope I can take away some of that stress.” Before either boy got a chance to say anything, their flight was called and they boarded the plane.

Nine o'clock rolled around and {Y/N} walked up to the Iwaizumi's door. They had always lived on the same street so it made picking up her siblings pretty easy. When she walked up the steps she didn't even have a chance to knock on the door. Mai Iwaizumi smiled at her and called for the two kids. “Thank you so much for letting them come over today. I promise I'll be off in time to be home for them tomorrow. They just-” “I've told you before its ok. Besides I love these two like my own children. Now, they have eaten so don't let them trick you, and their homework is complete.” {Y/N} Just smiled at the woman. She had always looked up to this woman, hoping one day that this could be her mother. Before the two could converse more, her two siblings barreled into her giving her a bone crushing hug. The four of them just laughed and {Y/N} waved and led the two kids home. Upon reaching their destination they all hurried inside. {Y/N} took their backpacks and sent them upstairs to change and get ready for bed. Dropping her own stuff off at the kitchen table she pulled the empty bento boxes out of the backpacks. She placed them in the sink and silently made a vow to wash them later. She headed upstairs into her own bedroom, ignoring the empty master bedroom to the right of hers. She was about to slip out of her work shirt when she heard her name being called from the room over. Heading on over she noticed both kids curled up in Shouta's bed. Smiling she headed into the room and crouched down by the bed. “Whats up guys?” she asked softly, with a gentle smile on her face. Shouta just got a wide smile on his face. “We played volleyball today in PE and the teacher said I have a talent for it. I was wondering if there was anyway I could join the volleyball club.” Shouta asked. {Y/N}'s smile dropped a bit before she  placed a hand on his head. “I know you wanna play volleyball Sho, I understand, I do. But we just cant afford it right now.” she said softly, stoking the little boys head. His smile vanished but he just nodded his head. Money had been tight and his sister was working two jobs just to pay bills and put food on the table. Shouta mumbled a goodnight before rolling over and pulling the blanket over his head. {Y/N} Sighed and picked up Yuki and took her to the girls own room. The smaller girl watched as her sister tucked her in. “Hey {N/N?}” she quietly called causing the older girl to look at her. Yuki may have been only nine years old, but she could just see the sadness in her sisters eyes. “Do you think mommy will ever come home?” {Y/N} felt her heart break. She gently smiled and rubbed the top of Yuki's head. “I don't know baby. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.” She bent down to give her a kiss on the head. “Night Yu.” she said quietly closing the door. She peeked into Shouta's room to see that he was sound asleep. She smiled softly before closing his door and heading downstairs. She sat down at the kitchen table and put her head in her hands. Some days all she wanted to do was break down and cry, but that voice in the back of her head told her to be strong. She stood up and quietly made herself some food. Taking a glance at the coffee pot she debated whether or not to make a cup. Deciding against it because of the chaos this morning she grabbed her plate and headed on up to her room to work on schoolwork. When she sat down she noticed that she had missed messages on her phone.
Haji: Hey you up? Haji: If you are awake can you call me so I can hear your voice? I miss you. Looking at the time she decided against calling him. It wasn't that she was ignoring him, she just didn't know what to say and it was getting late. After setting a few alarms on her phone, to make sure they get up on time, she quickly set off on finishing up her essay for class. It wasn't the degree she wanted but right now she couldn't be picky. She needed to get a better job to provide for her siblings. And she was determined that she was gonna do right by them, unlike their mother. She glanced at the photo beside her laptop. It was her and her dad when she was 14. How she missed him. Fate worked in cruel ways sometimes and taking her father had been the cruelest to her. She shook her head to get rid of all the sad thoughts swirling around in her head. She would have all the time in the world to mope once she finished school. Once she did that she would work on getting the kids out of Miyagi and to a place where everyone wouldn't look at them in pity. Its the kids whose mother abandoned them. She wanted a place where they wouldn't look at her in pity. She didn't want to be known as the girl who turned down a full ride scholarship to Tokyo University anymore.
