natasha was raised to be observant. noticing the details many miss at first glance. her first impression of you was, clearly, shy. but she saw how loud your actions were.

when there were meetings and a question was asked there would be a silence for a moment. she’d see you inhale, about to open your mouth, when someone else answers and you sink back to your chair.

natasha notices the bouncing of your leg when it’s almost your turn to present the mission recap, and the gulp you take before speaking a few quiet words. but she also sees how you straighten your posture, more confident after a while.

but more so, how it’s rare to see you without your earphones. working out, eating breakfast, sitting outside, laying on the bed, there was always those wired earphones connected to your phone.

occasionally natasha could catch a glimpse of the album cover playing on your lock screen.

it was only recently when everyone was gathered in the common room, enjoying free time, when thor returned. you broke your right arm on a mission so you had a cast, unable to move it.

you had left your earphones on the couch while getting a glass of water when thor’s hand accidentally brushed it and a little crackling noise was heard.

natasha turned to the sound and frowned when she saw the white (really a little grey since it’s been used for so long) earphones turn a burnt brown color.

you returned and saw thor examining your earphones. he apologized over and over saying he would get you a new pair as soon as possible, you nodded, muttering a ‘don’t worry’, and took them as you left.

natasha liked that you didn’t say ‘it’s okay’, because you probably wouldn’t have meant it.

natasha decided to check up on you, knocking on your door. she heard a few grunts and things falling but the door opened as you pulled a sweater over your tank top. “hey natasha” you smiled, widening the door with your hand.

“you alright? where are you going?” natasha examined the room “uhh about to get some new earphones” “you’re driving with one hand to the mall” natasha raised a brow “perhaps” you shrugged, putting on your socks.

“i’ll drive you” natasha offered “no! i mean- no..” natasha squint her eyes “.. i don’t want to bother you” “i was bored anyways, see you at the front in 5 minutes” natasha winked and left with no room left to argue.

you laughed quietly before becoming a little nervous. you admired natasha, who didn’t? but you always knew natasha was an observer, you were too. you couldn’t help but feel a little shy as she read you like an open book, that’s what you thought at least.

you met natasha outside as she smirked in her chevrolet corvette stingray. you smiled, hopping inside as you put your seatbelt on.

“so what mall are we going to?” natasha asked “the closest one” you shrugged

it was comfortable silence for awhile until there was a red stop light and natasha fiddled with the screen in the car. she handed her phone to you and you looked at it confused. “play your music, sweetheart” she started the car again as the green light went.

if you were standing you would have fallen to the ground with that nickname. “thanks” you murmured, searching the songs you wanred on her spotify. you smiled already seeing fleetwood mac in her searched.

you played around with it a little, starting off with dreams, then drake’s passionfruit, and some daniel caesar songs. it wasn’t a long ride but natasha could tell you were biased daniel.

she watched from her peripheral as you mouthed the words quietly, gazing (gayzing) out the window.

the walk inside the mall was quiet. natasha insisted she come with you. you bought yourself the normal pair of wired earphones at apple but decided to spoil yourself and get a pair of wireless headphones, just incase.

she didn’t mind staying behind or beside you as you smiled hearing music, testing the different kinds of headphones. you turned around and tapped natasha’s shoulders, she looked at you expectingly as you turned one side of the flexible silver sony headphones to her and she pressed her ear against it. daniel caesar’s “do you like me” flooded her ears

“Is this one good?” you looked at her. she stood up straighter and nodded. “the rose gold one looked cuter on you though” she rasped out while you blushed.

you walked to the counter. you bought the rose gold ones. the ride home all you played was daniel caesar.

you hugged natasha with one arm as a thank you before hurrying to your room, eager to try your new headphones.

natasha wondered if it was a good idea to let you buy them because now, she seemed to talk to you less.

it had been 2 weeks later, arm fully healed when natasha asked you, personally, to assist her on her 3 day long mission. she just wanted to spend more time with you.

you nodded with a small smile and natasha was ecstatic. until she heard you at the kitchen. “hey! i was wondering if you wanted my daniel concert ticket? i don’t think i’ll be able to make it…” natasha saw you fiddling with the blue ticket, her chest tightened. “great! i’ll send over the tickets later, thanks!” natasha made her way to her room, to do research on this concert.

she kept a straight face as the concert was the exact 3 days she had just asked you on a mission for.

natasha would make it up to you.

right after the mission, natasha dropped the team off at the shield headquarters when she flew you both to the next location this daniel caesar was performing. “nat, where are we goin?” you laughed

“surprise” she winked

she asked you to change into your usual clothes and dragged you through the crowd. “oh my god” you saw the banner of the concert “OH MY GOD!” you shrieked as you walked into the theatre “NATASHA! you! i-! what!” you jumbled your words as natasha laughed at your antics, dragging you to good middle upper seats.

“no one has ever done this for me” you admitted, staring into her eyes. people started screaming as your favorite artist entered the stage. you still couldn’t tear your eyes away from natasha.

the song “do you like me” played and you sang quietly the lyrics to natasha ‘low on time i’d like to make a move’ you murmured, inching closer to you, as she did. when your lips met, you felt on fire.

“thanks for driving me to the mall that day” you said against her ear, grinning “thanks for being the music to my heart”

Introduction to jackswangoblinqueen's Tumblr

So, clearly I have been on a Tom Sturridge kick, and I do really want to connect with all the Tom Sturridge gurlies out there to gush over how beautiful and amazing he is, but I feel like maybe I should branch out some to the other communities I would love to connect with on here.

I am a 31 year old leftist (BLM, Pro-Choice, LGBTQ+, Eat The Rich, Disability Visibility/Rights, etc...) non-binary demi-girl person from the Pacific Northwest in the States. I am a practicing pagan witch tarot reader. I am diagnosed with ADHD but I am pretty damn sure I have autism as well. I am no contact with my parents, well, most of my family, because I am the black sheep of the family and they are all pretty conservative and religious.

My interests of course range from various fandoms and celebs to tarot a whimsigoth aesthetics. I love most types of music, but my main jams have been 80's sounding dark synth music and Sleep Token.

My favorite film is Labyrinth and David Bowie is my hero. May he rest in peace.

I have studied tarot pretty intensely and that was my main hyper-focus before I kinda let my obsession with Tom Sturridge take over. I do offer tarot readings for reasonable $. I don't read tarot as if it is fortune-telling though, I use it more as a therapy tool, a spicy ink blot test if you will. Anyway, yeah, I read tarot on the side.

The Joey Batey, Jaskier, and The Amazing Devil community as I love Joey and his music and he is just a cinnamon role of a man who must be protected at all costs.

Adam Driver because Kylo Ren did things to me that I was not ready for when TFA came out in 2015 and I haven't been the same since. I am a Reylo fan, but I love Kylo more than Rey. And yes, I call him Kylo as that is his chosen name and we use chosen names here.

And it is kinda connected so I will list them together; I want to connect more with the witch, pagan, tarot, goth and whimigoth communities.

I just wanna gush over fandoms, music, aesthetics, tarot and all that with others. And I need a place to vent my thoughts and jot down fanfic ideas that my ADHD brain will never be able to write to completion, lolz. I've been thinking about using a rollator for a while and was wondering if you or your followers had brand/product recommendations? I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest possible model and would primarily be using it for the seat & not for stability when walking, if that makes a difference! i actually did my biomedical engineering senior project in undergrad on standard vs forearm rollators & would be happy to send that research to you (& anybody) if you want the sources + additional info, just dm me your email!

basically a rollator with forearm support platforms (either add-on attachments or built in) offloads more weight from the lower body than a standard rollator, which can do more to reduce leg/foot/etc pain. it also offers better stability & can reduce the risk of hunching over it which could lead to further issues such as back pain (although it’s definitely possible to stand upright with a properly fit standard rollator, it just takes more conscious effort ime). since you’re mainly looking for a seat that might not be relevant to you though! other than price their main downside is being a bit heavier than standard rollators

i use the Gemino 30 upright walker, unfortunately she’s very expensive (mine’s a hand-me-down) and difficult to obtain in the US at least as of 2020 but there’s a senior supply store that has worked with a friend on shipping so i can try to track them down if you’re particularly interested in that model.

anecdotally i know folks who’ve been very dissatisfied with the UPWalker (formerly the Lifewalker Upright) and felt it wasn’t worth the steep price so a generic model might do you better there. my health went (further) to shit before i was able to actually test out any generics or attachments so i don’t have any specific data there

as far as standard rollators the Hugo Elite by Drive Medical was what i used as my control in testing, selected based on popularity & customer reviews - it’s about $80-130 USD new depending on where you’re shopping and definitely seemed quality to me (sturdy, the seat was comfortable, pretty easy to fold/unfold but i had way fewer hand problems at the time) but i wasn’t doing much testing outdoors etc

my keyboard is complete! words cannot express how much i love this keyboard. i spent so much time thinking about what kind of pcb (body) i wanted, what switches i wanted, and what keycaps i wanted. i even asked for your help! i knew i wanted the body of my keyboard to be aluminum... and it is heavy... and i keep forgetting just HOW heavy it is. i now understand why changbin was lifting felix's keyboard now lol.

anyway, below i will have some pictures and some explanations about the keyboard and how i built it. it's okay if you don't care about any of the details and just look at the pictures lol

onto the build! i'll link everything i used in case you're interested!

for my pcb i have the Keychron Q1 Pro, in black. you can also get this pcb in white or silver. i spent a lot of time looking for a keyboard that would be mac friendly. the GMMK Pro that i was originally looking at, some of the reviews said that the mac settings didn't work that well, even with the proper software. so i went with Keychron, bc i know their keyboards are formatted to play nice with macs. i should also mention that my keyboard is hot-swappable. which means that the switches are not soldered into my pcb. if you want to get a mechanical keyboard and make changes to it, make sure it says, "hot-swappable." also my keyboard has a knob! bc why not, knobs are fun and my knob controls the volume! there is a program that you can use with Keychron to program the knob to do whatever you want it to do. but i like that it controls the volume, there's a satisfying "click" for each turn.

the keycaps are also Keychron. it took me a while to even get to the keycaps. there are too many options for keycaps out there, so be careful! you could end up with too many options like i did 😅 so, i know that in my poll, the dark keys with cmyk text won, but they are out of stock and i wasn't able to find them in the Keychron amazon storefront. i was going to go with the winner between the Akko keycaps... but they tied. so i asked GBF to pick and he chose the cyan and black. but when i was looking at the Keychron amazon storefront, i found an option that was slightly cheaper than the Akkos. but i also chose the Keychron ones bc like i said, Keychron plays nice with macs and had the "command" and "option" keys i would need.

next, switches! in a mechanical keyboard, switches are what make the keys work. in a regular keyboard (or a membrane keyboard), there's a membrane (sometimes it's silicone) that sits between the keys and the board and sends a signal when you press a key. same thing in a mechanical keyboard, except each switch operates on its own. so if a key stops working, you can simply pull the switch out and replace it with a new one! anyway, my switches happen to be mint. did i buy them bc they were mint? no. am i kind of happy that they're mint? yes. i bought them bc they're quite tactile switches. tactile means there's a little bump when the key is fully pressed to let you know that you've hit the key. i've had trouble with linear switches being too sensitive in the past. i ended up getting Durock shrimps! what a cute name lol and i might buy more to put them into my work keyboard...

onto placing keycaps! originally i was going to put o-rings on my keycaps to prevent any more noise, but my switches are already so quiet that it wasn't really necessary. but i also did a typing test and the o-rings actually added too much bulk and didn't allow the switch to fully descend when the key was pressed. so i took them out.

but here is my keyboard fully assembled! the rgb is so pretty too. even though i can't see it through my keycaps, it's still lovely. and the beauty of my keyboard is that i can change the keycaps whenever i want. so if i ever get bored of this lovely, black, mint, and gray combo or those dark keycaps with cmyk text come back in stock, i can always change them!

okay, i know that was a lot and again, it's totally okay if you didn't read any of it and just looked at the pictures 😂 also, my monitor stand came as well, i mentioned that earlier. but it looks so good! my desk looks so organized now! and the only thing missing from my setup is my imac now!

(previous anon) after trying a few different folders i've noticed a pattern - if a thumbnail loads, i'll be able to play that episode. if no picture loads, when i double click it says "1 item transferring" or something like that, with a loading bar.

Well, I've learned something new about Mega since seeing this message about 10 minutes ago. I looked it up, and apparently you can only stream mp4 files directly from Mega. A bunch of the videos on my account, especially some of the older ones like early 8 Out of 10 Cats, are in other formats.

There's a way to do it, but unfortunately it also involves some downloading. Only once, though. You can download the Mega Sync desktop app here. Then you can open that up by clicking the icon on your taskbar, and click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the app. Then click "stream", and in the window that comes up, click "public link". Copy the link from the file you want to watch, and paste it into the window. Click "default application" to have it play on your computer's default video player.

...I realize that's a bunch of steps, especially since you've said your laptop can't handle much. I'm sorry about that, I didn't realize you couldn't just stream everything straight from Mega. I got the information about why it doesn't work and how to stream it anyway from this Reddit post, which might explain it better than I do. I then tested it out according to the Reddit instructions and wrote my own instructions based on what came up for me. It’s also worth noting that I have Windows 10 and if you have a Mac then the whole process might look different for you.

So if the issue is just that your laptop can't handle the significant data transfer involved in downloading whole episodes, this will still let you watch the videos with just a bunch more button clicking than would be ideal. If that doesn't work for you, then sorry about that, and I'm glad I now know this so the next time I want to pay to upload lots of data I'll use Google Drive, which as far as I can tell lets people stream just about anything directly.

And Dave doesn't get it it's not just what your actions are it's all these other people that you're leading to do things but that's okay you're like helping us but it's by accident.

I ordered an external OWC Thunderbolt 2 RAID encore with Softraid software to begin migrating some of my more important production data to a faster array that i can more easily take with me than this 15-Bay behemoth that my unRAID server has become, but even with a fast external and portable RAID5 array, i still need and want unRAID to be my safe for all i have done and will do. I am so frustrated right now.unRAID has been a loyal and dependable friend these past 10+ years, and my server safely (so far) holds over 21TB of my production data from the past 20 years.but it seems that these past 6 months i've stumbled from one issue to the next, which have cost me a ridiculous amount of hours of time to trouble-shoot, test, fix and keep trying.whatever i try, i just don't seem to be able to get back to the "set it and forget it" ease that made me stick with unRAID for so long.Ĭhances are, it's user error or maybe some weird configuration or even hardware problem, but where do i even start? It's dark enough to be classed as 'vampy', but not overly so that it looks gothic or too 'black'. If you're after a vampy lip, Mac's 'Dark Side' is worth a swatch. Mac's Amplified formulas have to be one of my favourites! I simply apply from the bullet or with a lip brush after applying lip liner (a must have!!) and I'm good to go. It's extremely opaque and being an 'Amplified' formula, the consistency is smooth and creamy, whilst providing a flawless look with amazing pigmentation.

The lipstick is described on the Mac website as being a 'deep burgundy' - and I'd definitely agree. Day Twenty-Nine

Teacher workshop days start at 8:00 instead of 7:30, and, let me tell you, getting to sleep in just that little bit later is totally awesome.

The day began with a meeting to discuss common discipline issues and deescalation strategies, followed by some small group work on the advisory program (which is new this year, we’re building the plane as we’re flying it a little bit). After that, we had some time in our classrooms, and then the whole faculty we got together for a potluck lunch, which was amazing.

Of course, the chef who runs the culinary program in our career tech center contributed his (deservedly famous) meatball subs, but he’s not the only talent. The Principal made some seriously amazing mac and cheese, which none of us saw that coming, and other folks made dips, casseroles, pulled pork, fancy salads, etc, etc... Mrs. T made brownie cups with chocolate ganache and cherry filling, and those were amazing (and the perfect size to eat in one bite). My contribution was Oreo pie, which is quick, easy, and delicious. Here’s how to make it:

Whisk together 4oz softened cream cheese and 1 and 1/2 cups of cool whip

Pour cool whip and cream cheese mixture into an Oreo pie crust, refrigerate while you do the next step

Make one 0.8oz box of instant chocolate pudding according to the instructions on the box

Pour pudding into the pie crust on top the cool whip and cream layer

Chill overnight 

After lunch, we had a meeting with one of the district tech folks because the 9th and 10th graders are going to be doing new standardized tests (new to us, anyways, they’ve been done in the lower grades for years), and they’re online, so she wanted to show us the set-up. That went... a little bit poorly. There were a lot of questions no one had an answer to yet, so that stressed a lot of people out, especially our department heads, who’d warned the admins that was going to happen. 

Mrs. T, who is a department head, took a walk with me (two laps on the track because it’s a beautiful day) afterwards, and we talked about that and other things. Then we went back to our classrooms to do the last thing on the day’s agenda: a professional reflection, two prompts to respond to. 

I’m headed back to the school in just a bit because it’s Friday, there’s football, and I’m checking tickets like I always do. Mr. B says it’s going to be a huge game, and it’s small town fall entertainment. Hoping to have fun!

The Digital Negative For Platinum and Other Printing Processes

When people involved in alternative processes started printing with digital negatives, at first I totally ignored the new 'trend', being then focused on sensitometry tests, densitometers, pyro staining and so on. Although learning all that has proved to be extremely useful in the computer age too, working digitally gives us more consistency and better results in less time (plus other advantages). I now print from digital files only (except old work of course), directly from a digital cameras. Ditching heavy view cameras altogether (of which I was an avid user for many years) has also improved dramatically the quality of my work and made easier to capture the images that I want, when I want. When I have to print an old image (I have a large archive of 8x10" in-camera negatives) I generally contact print from the original negative, unless it is an important image, which I feel I will be printing again in the future. In that case I prefer to scan it (I use a Microtek full bed scanner) and prepare a digital negative anyway.

I do not care whether working traditionally, or digitally, or both. I am interested in producing the best possible, long lasting images and to me, a mix of digital and traditional is what works.

That said, let see how to produce a digital negative that can compete with a traditional one. First, the raw file has to be good. If you shoot digitally, this means a top-notch digital camera (i.e. a full frame sensor Canon Eos 5d would be the very minimum), or if you scan traditional negatives, a good quality scanner and software. I use Vuescan in 16bit mode. If the file from your digital camera or scanned negative does not have the resolution required to produce a good negative, and you really want to make the print, I would recommend to blow it up with specialist software, such as onOne Genuine Fractals PrintPro (Benvista Photozoom Pro is also good). Keep in mind that of course this is a compromise, yet I have managed to produce good prints from relatively small files. Many of my customers do not own ultra professional digital cameras or scanners and often supply me with medium if not low resolution files. Speaking of software useful for working with digital files, I would like to mention Alien Skin's Exposure. This neat Photoshop plug-in "emulates" the look of many traditional films (HP5, Tri-X etc.), includes complete control on grain and also has a nice channel mixer to convert to B&W, plus many other features. I am the first to admit that moving from traditional film to digital and then using a filter to emulate... film may seem absurd, but as said at the end of the day the results count. I do not think one needs to invest in more software to do a good job, although Viveza 2 (NIK Software), is terrific for localized contrast tweaking (and the new Structure slider is worth the purchase of this filter alone). The last "software" of course is your own skill to use Photoshop to make your images look great. This goes well beyond the scope of this article, just keep in mind that you need an image with at the very least a good histogram (without gaps between sample values) and plenty of details in the shadows (I feel to say this because almost always, when I get digital files from my customers, the shadows are too thin). Here is an old little Photoshop trick to give your images more "presence" in the mid tones and shadows. Load a picture. Duplicate the layer. Gaussian blur the new layer until it is out of focus (not too much e.g. about 10/15 pixels for an 8x10" 400dpi image). Double click the blurred layer to get the Layer Style window. Select Blend Mode: Multiply. Opacity around 60% (you will play with this setting later). Go to the first of the two grey gradient lines at the bottom of the window. Alt-click (on a PC, I do not know on a Mac) the left white pointer to detach it from the right one and slide it to the left, to your taste. Now slide a bit to the left the other white pointer too keeping an eye on the highlights. What we are doing here is having the blurred image multiplied on the background layer in the mid tones and shadows only. Now click OK and in the layers window you can play around that 60% Opacity that we set earlier. Slide around it to see the difference. Use this technique with the greatest moderation because of course we are introducing some blurring in the image.

Two last things about working digitally, before we talk about the platinum curves. First, with digital negatives we have the opportunity to improve the original image, with cropping, dodging, burning and so on, but we can also enhance it a bit with some special effects. But please, research the one that you want first, and then you can burn it (the download, which is often a couple of Gigabytes just so you know) to a DVD or even a thumb drive. Check it out. You can even get a brief description of each one and there are several that resemble the Windows or the Mac set up to make the transition easier. Just make sure that you are aware of what you are doing and do not rush anything. That is how mistakes are made!

Hello! Here’s Part 9 of my new 8bitdo gamepad, the Pro 2 Bluetooth Gamepad/Controller! 🎮😁

Sorry for the long delay. I've been absent since April due to my PC problem, but now I'm back in the saddle. 🙂🖥️ Except for one, however, the concern of my hard disk drive. 😔 *sigh* Anyways...

For this part, I'll be explaining the version of Pro 2's ultimate software, as well as the functionality of the back paddle buttons & profile switch (located between two analog sticks).🙂🎮

My Experience:

• So far, my Pro 2 gamepad is A-Okay without any malfunctions whatsoever. And right here, I'm downloading the Pro 2's Ultimate Software by going to 8Bitdo's official website, then clicking "support". Here, there is a total of nine 8bitdo items that are supported by the custom button software, including my former used SN30 Pro+ gamepad (which I'll get to that later). Not to mention the 8bitdo retro adapters including the new 2nd gen are now supported for the Ultimate Software. (Hmmm... I tackle that topic, very soon.🤔) Also, the brand new Ultimate Wired Controller for the Xbox is so rad, that I wish the company will have the wireless version. As always, the 8bitdo's Ultimate Software is supported on Mac OS & Windows OS (7 to later OS), plus, it is now on the mobile app through Android & Apple iOS mobile devices (e.g. iPhone & iPad). Though, I don't understand why the Ultimate Software is not supported on Mac Mode. 🤔 Nonetheless, I download the Windows version of the Ultimate Software & extract the zip file. Once that, I open the application & plug in my existing Pro 2 gamepad via USB cable. Now, what you saw here was exactly identical to my SN30 Pro+ gamepad back on May 11th, 2021, from mapping buttons, to macros buttons albeit a few features added in such as additional back paddle buttons & profile switch for the Pro 2. The latter was, unfortunately, I can't press the profile switch button while it's connected through Ultimate Software. That's fine, I won't have my Pro 2 go malfunction like what happened to my old predecessor. I promise.✋🙂

• Since my Pro 2 gamepad had additional two back paddle buttons, why not give me a try for the sake of my test. I go back to the mapping section & mapped the aforementioned buttons for Left Stick & Right Stick buttons albeit in reverse. But, don't worry though, this is just the test & I'll get swapped it right eventually after this. Moreover, the window itself won't adjust the size nor minimize it to reach & map the P2 button. 🤨 Though, I wish the company will fix this, or could at least add a scroll bar for less hassle because my PC monitor is less than a 17-inch screen. 😕🖥️ But, nonetheless, once I'm done mapping back buttons I click "Sync to device" & it should be done. And here, instead of pressing both analog buttons from my SN30 Pro+, the Pro 2 shows the profile switch, and to load my profile I could simply press that button. And, once I'm done, I could close the Ultimate Software & see if the back paddle buttons works.🎮😁

Overall:

• Nothing's changed for the 8bitdo's Ultimate Software. And yes, this is version 2.10, but remains the same since 2020. Not much to say, but, all I can say is I can't wait to test it out!😃
