5 Health Benefits Of Eating Apples
Tumblr media
1. Detoxifies the liver
Your liver is responsible for eliminating toxins from the body. Most experts are suspicious about fad detox diets, suggesting they can do more harm than good. Luckily, one of the best — and simplest — foods you can consume to help detoxify your liver is a fruit, like apple. Apples are rich in polysaccharide pectin, a soluble fiber that helps in eliminating toxins and bad cholesterol from the body. Apples also contain a naturally cleansing nutrient called malic acid that removes toxins from the blood.
2. Linked to a lower risk of diabetes
Eating apples may also reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.
A compilation of studies found that eating apples and pears was associated with an 18% reduction in type 2 diabetes risk. In fact, just one serving per week may reduce the risk by 3% .
Their high content of the antioxidant polyphenols quercetin and phloridzin could explain this beneficial effect.
Quercetin’s anti-inflammatory effects may reduce insulin resistance, a big risk factor for the onset of diabetes. Meanwhile, phloridzin is believed to reduce sugar uptake in the intestines, contributing to a reduced blood sugar load and thereby reduced diabetes risk.
3. Apples May Help Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease
Time to start eating more apples and other flavonoid-rich foods like berries and tea. Research published in August 2020 in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that adults ages 50 and older who included only a small amount of flavonoid-rich foods like berries, apples, and tea in their diet were a whopping 2 to 4 times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease and related types of dementia over 20 years compared with people who ate more flavonoid-rich foods.
On top of that, a review published in January 2020 in the journal Biomolecules found that quercetin, a flavonoid found in apples, protects neurons from oxidative damage and contains other anti-Alzheimer’s disease properties, too. But, the researchers say, more research needs to be done outside of a laboratory setting.
4. Help maintain a moderate weight
The fiber in apples can help a person feel full for longer, making them less likely to overeat. This may help people manage their weight.
A 2020 study found that the dietary fiber in fruits and vegetables supported weight loss in women. The consumption of fruits and vegetables can reduce eating rate and provide fewer calories while being satisfying.
A 2022 study also found that whole Fuji apples have the potential to lower the cellular lipid level in 3T3-L1 cells, meaning they may have anti-obesity effects.
5. Reduce weakness
People who usually feel weak and fragile are recommended to eat apples as it helps in increasing vitality and vigour. This is the reason why patients are given apples in illness. Apples are helpful in detoxifying the body and improving overall health. They are extremely helpful in keeping muscle weakness at bay.

I have no base for this, but Halsin seems like the type who would settle in the middle of the group with fruits (that he likely foraged) and little wooden bowl in tow and just start cutting them unprompted and offering them to everyone else.

Good For The Heart
The soluble fiber in apples helps in reducing the amount of cholesterol in the body. It works against cardiovascular diseases. Antioxidant properties of apples reduce the oxidation of fats. It is called a lipid. Neutralizes fats that can cause dangerous pressure in blood vessels. A flavonoid called quercetin reduces blood vessel inflammation. Also a polyphenol, epicatechin lowers blood pressure in the body.

writhing in agony like a worm on hot asphalt because we might never get a game like shadow the hedgehog again, a game that's dedicated to the exploration of a character let alone a character who isn't sonic. sa1 certainly gave character arcs to everyone involved and fleshed out the cast we already knew, and while i could settle for something similar whether that's done through story or dedicated gameplay/campaigns it doesn't exactly match up to the kind of depth a game that focuses on putting a blorbo in situations can have. shth isn't perfect but it reveals a surprising amount of shadow if you look deeper into the stories and their events and how he acts and behaves through them. it's less about the things happening around shadow, those simply set the stage and the playground for the player to get into the nitty gritty with shadow and put themselves into the same situations and give them the opportunity to ask themselves "how would shadow react to this kind of situation" and act accordingly. or they can choose to go against that initial instinct and learn something new, because the other choices are equally as valid as the obvious ones. even that said i don't think a morality system is a requirement for a game like this by a long shot, while it enables a more in-depth look into a character there are other less time-consuming ways to achieve that, and i know there are characters in sonic who would benefit from being given the spotlight in that fashion at least once. shth is almost 20 years old, frontiers might be taking steps away from the post-06 era where we could only play as sonic as well as the 2010s writing that abandoned depth for simplicity, and they're re-releasing gens with extra stages for shadow, but even then would i dare to hope for a game that fulfills not much more than a niche that has the risk of not being received well? i writhe and i squirm and the asphalt burns
