school kinda sucks, not even gonna lie

#its been one day #how am i gonna do this for 10 more months?? #nothing bad even happened! and it still sucked! #and new uniform rules like oohoohoo that'll make the kids happier #no more sweatpants under my skirt?? have they forgotten we like in canada?? where its fucking freezing?? #and we got a lecture in each class about “academic integrity” #and also my hair looked like shit even though it looked good when i woke up #and i have 2 classes with my arch nemesis (some kid i hate for literally no reason other than we compete for top student every year) #very frances and daniel of me #UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH #and my friend who i have a crush on moved schools without telling me (we're not that close) #and moved to my ex's school (they're friends) #but she's twins with my good friend who didn't switch schools so i'll see her again #but i wish she didn't leave #and she told some of my friends i think but i only found out cuz my ex told me (we're still friends) #and also my parents didn't let me go to a concerty thing tonight that i really wanted to go to because i have dance #but now i'm not even going to dance because i'm so fucking tired (i need my full 9 hours)(i got about 5 hours last night) #sorry about how many tags i put but i'm too worried to make an actual long post

emailed my advisor that no i cannot finish in a week I need until the end of july and was brave enough to check for a reply and she is willing to wait more than a week.  got my biweekly panic attack in #grad school life 

but everything is ok 

#listen she is scary she is one of the most respected people in her field and she is so old and she has a REPUTATION #she does like me tho i was the RA for her arch field school and I think im her poor little meow meow pathetic creature grad student #i did the ol show up to meetings while so sick from bronchitis that your advisor gets extremely concerned and tells you to go to a doctor #last semester and she took pity on me and gave me an extension on my ma thesis for this summer

My anxiety has been bad again but not as bad as in august, holding on. I saw Behemoth, Carcass and Arch Enemy yesterday and it was so amazing! Front row business as usual. I managed to catch a guitar pick from Arch Enemy and I don't know what to do with it, maybe turn it into a necklace? Can you drill a small hole on a guitar pick without it cracking?

Also bought a very cool Arch Enemy tour shirt. I would've liked a new Behemoth shirt but no I already have two and I am a student I cannot afford many Things.

This week is weird, i flew back to finland for the concerts, i saw Heilung and Eivør on sunday and loved it too.

I have anxiety of my future, i am graduating next year and i don't know if i can work due to my mental struggles or if i even could get a job and if so, what am i qualified of doing as a literature major with history, feminist societal studies and violence sociology as side subjects? Library? Random event organizing? Culture things? Museum work? The chaotic not-knowing brings me so close to a breakdown.

BECOMES HORIZONTAL, i know there’s no such thing as perfection but i was looking for good watercolor sketchbooks and it’s helllllll maybe i shouldn’t check reviews on am*zon because Everything Can Happen Over There (my favourite etchr lab watercolor sketchbook had one star, included one photo and no text and the title was “THERE WAS A SHRIMP IN THE PACKAGE”) but. sits and suffers

edit: ironically i think i kinda like the way watercolors look in my. talens sketchbook. which is like 140gsm and so Definitely not watercolor paper lmao

#i sat down to test some papers and to my endless surprise i liked canson student the most for a casual sketch #yes arches basically does a smooth wash for you. you don't need to try at all the paint just Does That on this paper #but good luck trying to paint a shape with smooth borders. they're always feathery and i think it's because of the paper texture #i mean yes you can minimize the feathering by being v e r y slow with your brush but like... come On #and i don't want to use hot pressed paper because i LIKE the texture! cmon! i just don't want it to do This #canson is textured as well (although differently) and the borders are nice and smooth but the washes aren't as flat and. well. it's paper #meanwhile w&n... i kind of hated it because the borders were not only feathery as fuck -- the paint sat on top of the paper as if it was #oiled and didn't want to cooperate AT ALL. you'd think my brush was dry as a bone with how the paint behaved on this paper #so like. 'you don't need to spend much money to have fun doing art' does apply! just. not to watercolors #unless you have an irl friend who'll show you around and you only buy what you're 100% sure is Good #and so far i remain sketchbookless. i wanted to try the etchr one but ahhhh i don't know. what if it does the same thing as w&n #shrimp thoughts
