How do 8th house natives transform?
Tumblr media
8th house is the house of transformations but what is transformation and how do they transform? Transformation follows chaos and crisis. Being 8th house, the crisis is sudden, unpredictable, unforeseen and unplanned. Here are some of the ways they transform themselves:
Starting a romantic relationship suddenly
Suddenly getting married within months of meeting
Sudden breakup of relationship
Unexpected pregnancy
Unexpected job termination
Vehicle accidents
Diseases that transform their lifestyle
Surgeries that change the way they look
Gender change surgery
Sudden divorce
Sudden widowhood
Changing the way they look by hair colour, makeup, cosmetic surgery
Changing the career
Consuming and learninf a lot of astrology content
Mindlessly watching a lot of tarot videos
Mental breakdowns or psychosis
Moving countries. Packing bags and going somewhere else
Changing their identity in any way. Eg, name, address, last name, city of location, citizenship, gender change, sexuality change (from straight to bi or homosexual), changing their wardrobe
Many times small transformations like deleting their social media accounts and starting afresh. After a crisis or emotional chaos, they end up deleting all of their social media accounts to destroy their identity then start everything from scratch in a different way
Changing their hobbies and interests. Oftentimes they develop interest in occult, spirituality and mysticism
Oftentimes these natives also go into philosophy, religion studies, research for self learning because of 9th house effect. They will not go for proper college degree in higher education unless they have 9th house planets, but with 8th house placements they will be pulled to 9th house theme after evolution and maturity
Oftentimes the transformations can be painful like physical abuse or punishment or jail time or disease that isolates them (cancer, AIDS, coma condition)
These natives trigger chaos in their environment. They create drama, fights, crisis, yell, shout, cry for the transformational energy. With emotional chaos, they are faced with parts of themselves that were hidden to them previously. Now with these parts visible, it is time to change and transform into something else
Shamanic, tantric works, witchcraft, supernatural, paranormal practices, books and conversations also transform them
Sleeping is also transformation. Many 8th house natives feel like a different person after sleeping. Especially when they slept after a chaotic situation. Their dream interpretation or sleep paralysis or dreams during REM cycle can tell a lot of spiritual ideas to them that transform them.
Unfortunately, many 8th house placement natives somehow dont venture into occult all their lives. Their other placements keep them distant from occult. So they never learn to channel their energy through constructive and spiritual ways. For eg, wife who cheats, argues, lies, controls her husband but never finds out this is just spiritual cries from her soul for emotional and psychic healing.
8th house energy without occult, spiritual, psychic healing is pure disaster.

TPB ThunderClan character preferences headcanons
In general I hc every character to be bi, because that's me (and it opens up plenty of possibilities that don't conflict with the actual canon). But some cats with more specific preferences include:
Firestar: Prefers toms. Has probably had at least one fling with nearly every tom in ThunderClan by the time they move territories. Sandstorm considers it a big W to have gotten with him, considering this.
Graystripe: Prefers she-cats, except for Firestar, who is his favorite. Graystipe is disaster bi and so are his son (Stormfur) and grandson (Feather of Flying Hawk). Graystripe is just generally down.
Ravenpaw: Precious little gay cat. Had an awkward apprentice crush on Tigerclaw until he was clearly a villain. Then had it down bad for Firepaw until he lived happily ever after with Barley.
Tigerclaw: All of his relationships are transactional. I do like the AU idea where he's so taken with Fireheart's genuineness that he falls for him though.
Whitestorm: The clan's gay uncle. For romance it's all toms, but he's had kits with his she-cat besties. He knows all the gossip about who's into who.
Lionheart: The straightest man in the clan, much to Whitestorm's consternation.
Darkstripe: Do I need to say it?
Longtail: The coolest bisexual in ThunderClan. All the cats I specifically ship him with prior to his retirement are toms (hello LongFire) but I just know in my heart that he is the most true-neutral bisexual in camp.
Mousefur: She identified as a lesbian for all of her warrior life (and imo had a big crush on Bluestar) but in retirement she found herself kissing some toms (Longtail/Mousefur cuddle time forever)
Bluestar: Unless they're from RiverClan, she's all about the she-cats.
Dustpelt: "Straight." Yeah okay buddy, I'm sure it definitely just took you and Brackenfur 5 hours to gather sticks to fix the den.
Brackenfur: It would be shorter to list all the cats that Brackenfur did NOT have a crush on at some point.
Sandstorm: I get demi vibes honestly. She just really genuinely likes Firestar (and she's 100% cool with him having tom partners!).
Frostfur, Brindleface, and Goldenflower: They're like career moms? I don't generally think of them as being especially romantically attached to the fathers of their kits, it's more like they were just the toms who helped them with their work. They've got throuple energy.
Cloudtail & Brightheart: They're so almost a monogamous straight couple, but I feel like they like to pull in a tom as a third sometimes.
Thornclaw: Patrols.

I always saw Obi-Wan as an asexual kind of guy. Maybe that's because I'm old enough to remember when we only had the OT and he was already old. And dead for most of it. Anyway, part of why I love Star Wars is the emphasis on friendships and how strong and rewarding they can be without romantic feelings (although Han/Leia was my first ship). May we all have such people in our lives. All interpretations are valid of course and people love what they love, just wanted to share another point of view!
I mean, that's basically how I also envision him: my "Obi-Wan Kenobi as queer text" meta described my personal headcanon of him as biromantic asexual, and that's what the other post seemed to be hinting at in: re whatever they put in the book. After all, remember kids, ignore the exclusionists: asexuality is a full and complete queer identity on its own, and doesn't need other modifiers or qualifiers to be considered legitimate. So yeah. But as I said, he has radiated such intense bisexual sass disaster energy for the longest time, and I am frankly shocked that the Disney overlords allowed even a single sentence in a YA book that might hint at confirming this. To be honest, I don't care one way or another what the Mouse says about anything, particularly SW canon, since I reject what they have done with most of it. But hey. It's nice to have anyway.
As I also mentioned in the tags, Obi-Wan is a particularly formative character for me as a queer adult, since some of my first-ever forays into fandom, fic, and slash came as a result of reading TPM-era fics with him back in the dark days, with badly designed Web pages and SLASH!! content warnings. I imprinted on him as queer long before I knew what that was either for him or for me, and so I have a certain nostalgic perspective on it. (Also, nobody could read the Revenge of the Sith novelization in 2005, come out totally emotionally destroyed, and go, "yeah, Obi-Wan is totally straight." Even if I didn't, again, actually consciously realize this at the time.)
Likewise, Obi-Wan's appearance in the original trilogy has always fit the "celibate or asexual wise-old-mentor" stereotype, who exists mostly to guide the hero but doesn't have particular passions or motivations of his own. Then they cast Ewan McGregor as the younger version of him, and Ewan McGregor is likewise very attractive. But then in prequel-verse, all of Obi-Wan's most formative and important emotional relationships were with men (Qui-Gon, Bail Organa, etc) and then, of course, Anakin and the "it's a love story" Obi-Wan Kenobi series. So the more canon we got past just Alec Guinness, the more intensely Obi-Wan read as queer to me. The man cannot even sit straight (see his pose in the Council seat in ROTS), drops his cloaks with utter drama, sasses people, and is the utter opposite of toxic masculinity. He just has Big Queer Energy, in other words, and I felt it for a long time before I was able to properly name it in either him or myself.
Indeed, Obi-Wan would read pretty clearly as gay to me, except for the fact that they apparently added in some pseudo-girlfriend in the Clone Wars animated series and other assorted female interests in the expanded-universe books. Which, quite frankly, can't help but sound like "welp, this famous and beloved character is TOO queer-coded, better add in some comphet to tone that down." However, aside from my personal attachment to queer Obi-Wan, there's another aspect to it which I think is touching and important, and that is the fact that Luke is also often headcanoned as queer/gay/bi of some description (which Mark Hamill has enthusiastically supported). Considering that the original trilogy came out in the late '70s and early '80s, just as we were losing what should have been our entire generation of gay/queer ancestors to AIDS, I would find it very lovely if Luke, a queer man, was being mentored by Obi-Wan, his queer elder, in a way that we were so often denied the chance to have in reality. So yes. There are a lot of layers to it, in my view, and as I said, I don't care whether they bother to put one sentence in an EU book or not. The heart knows what it knows. Ahem. ;)

Batfam Alphabet Mafia headcanons
Bruce
Bruce is pansexual/panromantic, uses he/they pronouns but is too shy to actually tell anyone for the longest time.
Batman is bisexual/demiromantic, uses he/it pronouns.
Will not elaborate under any circumstances.
“IT’S THE BAT!” Is such a gender euphoric thing to hear while swooping down on your enemies guys you have no idea
Dick
He/him lesbian?
Panromantic polysexual?
Gender???
No answers. None.
In practice? he/him pronouns. He refuses to inconvenience those around him even slightly by asking them to try using anything else.
“What do you mean i wouldn’t be inconveniencing anyone? No, I don’t feel inconvenienced switching pronouns for others. No, you don’t get it, I don’t want to make anyone uncomfy.”
In truth? Gender neutral pronouns make them feel uwu. They also have she/her days— rarely, but it happens.
If dangled over a shark pit without access to batshark repellant and forced to choose, would probably identify as a genderfluid pan with polyamorous leanings. But only very reluctantly.
Jason
He/him pronouns but in a very gnc way, like yes, he uses he/him, but damn if he doesn’t look good in a dress, you can’t stop him
He has actually never been emotionally attracted to a woman. Sexually he’s not picky, but emotionally? Does not see the appeal.
Demiromantic.
Cass
Does not object to she/her pronouns but neither does she actually possess a gender
Dislikes he/him and has vaguely uninterested feelings toward they/them but will not be offended.
Attraction is... not a concept she feels she fully grasps. Best guess is on the aroace spectrum? She just doesn’t feel confident on the idea as a whole.
Currently can comfortably call her relationship with Steph a qpr, but that might change as her understanding evolves
Tim
Genderfluid nonbinary. The gender spectrum has very minimal extremes, never fully one direction or the other, but the position on the graph does move around on the daily.
Demisexual biromantic.
Steph
Genderfluid but only rarely really; predominantly a she/her with the occasional theyday thrown in for spice.
A disaster bi in the most intentionally chaotic sense.
Duke
Genderfluid, but with all the extremes that Tim can’t grasp. Took all the gender when Tim and Damian weren’t looking.
Girls are pretty and Duke likes them a lot. Boys are bleh. Not outside the realm of possibility, but it would take a really special guy.
Damian
Agender he/they.
Gay. Just. Deeply gay.
Being gay for Damian means being unintentionally attracted only to men and agender people
This has turned into an ongoing joke among the batsiblings, waiting after Dami admits to having a crush for that person to come out as agender. It’s happened like three times, he still claims it’s coincidence but none of the family believe him
Babs
AMAB she/her. Batman year one involved Bruce rescuing Gordon’s infant son, after all— and idc what people say about Jim’s serial killer son, whatever, Babs has only child energy and I refuse to believe she has an older brother. Serial killer gordon can be younger than Babs but not older.
83% confident she’s straight, but it’s still technically shaky ground.
Alfred
Cis, spent the better part of his years as both an actor and a member of british intelligence as the company bicycle for both professions
Has vast and unknowable power and managed to keep Bruce completely unaware of his romantic or sex life whilst growing up
As an adult he has now made a game of flirting with anyone around his age he encounters while in Bruce’s presence
Has had an emotional Something going on with Leslie Thompkins since Bruce was like 12 but neither of them can find the time to define it and so Something it remains

Gay Disasters of the Cosmere
This was inspired by a 17th Shard Thread, but my answer was so Tumblr, I had to share it here [Note - I reference characters from all the main Cosmere books, so read on with that in mind]:
(1) Sarene - mostly straight, but her disaster tendencies give big gay vibes.  She mistakenly thinks being a lesbian would be easier because she is tall.
(2) Kelsier - Okay... listen.  Yes Kelsier is mostly in straight relationships, but no honest straight person could manage the DRAMA that Kelsier pulls off.  He's definitely experimented with guys, and is honestly just turned on by anyone who can keep up with him.  He and Dockson almost kissed once, but both thought it would be weird and turned it into a bro moment.
(3) Ham and Breeze - Yes, they both marry women, but there is an unspoken attraction that they are both too stubborn to admit to.  They both know it's better for the their friendship to leave the sexual tension simmering below the surface, and so they don't mess with it.  Both would die for the other.  Breeze likes Ham a little more that Ham likes Breeze, but would never admit to that.
(4) Shan Elariel - I don't know, her energy is just very gay, okay?
(5) Rashek and Alendi - I have a whole fic about this.  #Rashendiforever
(6) Ati and Leras - Another fic.  Gods in love.  Opposites attract.  Star-crossed tragic lovers doomed to destroy each other.  Delicious.
(7) Denth - Why is he so obsessed with Vasher, hmmmm?  Are he and Tonk-Fah really just 'roommates'???
(8) Fafen - Big "joined the clergy cuz I'm gay" energy.
(9) Blushweaver and Lightsong - BI DISASTERS OKAY!!!
(10) Wayne - Kind of likes Wax, and isn't too hung up on gender in general, but mostly likes the ladeez (yes he spells it like that because he's awful).
(11) Marasi - She just has that "I thought I liked the MC because he's the MC and I'm supposed to like him, right?  Right?" kind of vibe, and I could totally see her questioning that and being open to her own bi-ness or lesbianism going forward.
(12) Shallan - confirmed bi disaster.
(13) Adolin - Gotta mention my boyfriend.  Fellas, is it gay to go to jail for your crush bridge boy?  Also a (basically) confirmed bi disaster.
(14) Kaladin - Yes, I know you've had like three girlfriends, but what were you saying the other day about how perfect Adolin's hair is Kaladin?  Right, right, right.
(15) Axies -I have no words for how much sheer gay disaster-ness this beloved Aimian exudes, but I am so here for it.

My favourite, very specific, type of fics: where namjoon gives off disaster Bi energy and yoongi unbothered Pan energy. I will not elaborate.
bts as the energies= lets go.
Namjoon = the above disaster bi energy, probably started out as one of those allies that were just too aggressively supportive to be straight. Slight preference for women and feels like he’s less queer because of it regardless of the fact that he’s been dating the same man for years
yoongi = unbothered pan, but the kind of unbothered pan that spent so much of his life in the closet or in unfulfilling relationships that he barely even recognizes when he’s legitimately in love with people because he just assumes he’s misplacing his emotions. Has /oh/ moments often.
Seokjin = straight drag queen with a trans wife!!!! who helps him do his makeup!!! loves Britney spears!!! still straight but also he’s just fucking fruty and takes his wife dick so???? kinda in a grey area with his sexuality tbh but doesn't question it because he knows to do so would feel transphobic to his wife. maybe might be a trans woman- but isn’t sure and is still exploring it internally before he brings it up to the people in his life.
Tae = trans man energy, big dick, and gets off on the fact that he can change his dick size to fit his partner you know? very gay trans man though. only into the dick.
jimin = genderfluid need I fucking say more????? on the ace spectrum too but gets off on being so fucking attractive like he wants you to know he’d never fuck you? you feel me????
Hoseok = disaster gay, kinda a fuck boy gay, but also has one sexual encounter with a woman and has a crisis. (like my ex who was a gay man lol) and then decided he is completely gay and she was just a one off.
Jungkook = cute little nonbinary she/they, really likes wearing skirts but also grrrr energy, has curbed stomped one of yoongi’s ex’s

What's your Pride Month head canons for your oc's and favorite characters?
Okay... so. First Pride Month headcanon: none of my ocs are straight. This is the biggest collection of gays, bis, pans, and gray-aces out there. Some of them are in hetero relationships, but they are still bi/pan.
Standing out we have Mysen of Denerim, who is gay and on the asexual spectrum - I'd call him homoromantic graysexual, and in a loving polycule with Alistair Theirin and Benny Cousland. (please ask me questions about them cause I wanna fill out their relationship btw)
We have Mila Cooper, who is also on the asexual spectrum - I'd call her demiromantic asexual. She is not sex-repulsed and frequently has sexual relations with her husband Fenris, but it is not something she requires or feels a need for, simply an activity she enjoys sharing with Fenris.
We've got bi disaster Morgan Walker, and gay disaster Cal Hawke.
Other bi/pan OCs include: Ava Hawke, Vylandin, Lissa Surana (demisexual), Agatha Iyris, Cassander Shepard, Cordelia Shepard, and Liam Trevelyan
Other gay OCs include: Henry Lucas, Benny Cousland, Ellis Walker (identified as straight/questioning for a long time and had a son before coming out as gay), Luka the Gold Dragon, Carlisle Shepard, Destin and Madoc Ryder, James Trevelyan, Jesse Malkin, Mason Wiseman, Solomon Kingston, and Winston Wyne.
Dick Grayson is demisexual. Bruce Wayne is gay. Jason Todd is also gay. Clark Kent is pansexual. Diana Prince is pansexual. Dinah Lance is bi and has crushes on Harley and Ivy. Honestly, pretty much everyone in the DC universe is LGBTQ+
Percy Jackson is bi, Jason Grace is gay and ace (lol pun not intended). Annabeth is a straight ally. Luke Castellan is gay
Bucky Barnes is gay, Steve is bisexual, Tony Stark is pansexual. Thor is demisexual. Loki is genderfluid, Scott Lang is bisexual. Natasha Romanoff is asexual. Peter Parker is gay. Pietro Maximoff is also gay
Sokka and Suki are bisexuals. Aang is pansexual. Bolin is gay. Kuvira is absolutely sapphic
Geralt is very much bisexual, and Jaskier is pansexual.
Nathan Drake is a bi disaster.
Obi-Wan is gay. So is Darth Maul. Anakin is straight but has bi wife energy. Because Padme is bi. Luke Skywalker is gay.
Luna Lovegood is ace and pan. All of the Weasleys are bisexual except Charlie, who is aro/ace.
Remember the Hardy Boys? Yes, both gay. Nancy Drew is bi. Also the Beast from Beauty and the Beast is bi. Belle is a straight ally.
Hmm... is that everyone???

Ginny Weasley and Landon Kirby!!
So this is nearly like a month late! And I am so sorry for that!! I got very distracted, wrote half of this, then left it for like two weeks, so you have my sincerest apologies! But I hope you enjoy this!! ❤️
Ginny Weasley:
• Headcanon for their sexuality — Oh, she has the biggest bi energy out here. She probably figured it out really casually as well, like, she realized she had a bit of a crush on Tonks and was like, "Oh.”
• Have they come out? If so, how — She came out to Bill first, because she remembers him telling her about the boy he fancied when he was in fourth year, and she trusts he’ll be kind, so she waits until he’s visiting and slips it into conversation when they’re alone in the garden. Then she casually tells Luna while they’re reading a book that mentions this queer witch from centuries ago. Then comes the rest of her family, little by little. When it came to the media finding out after the war had settled however, now, that was a far more dramatic and hilarious story; the rumours flew around faster than her supposed secret lovers from her team! She definitely played them up and let people speculate for months, finding the whole thing downright ridiculous but at least entertaining.
• How their friends/family took their coming out:
Bill is as supportive as she expected. He smiles this knowing smile and hugs her, then they’re back to de-gnoming. “I’m happy you trust me.”
Ron is the second sibling she tells, because even though he can be a bit dense, she listened to him gush for hours about Krum, Harry, and his favourite Chudley Cannons player. He stares for a minute like he doesn’t quite know what she means, then he’s making her promise not to date any of the Gryffindor girls in his year because “Dean was one thing, alright, but if you and Lavender—“
George blinked for one second of surprise when she casually mentioned that she was thinking of asking Katie on a date to Hogsmeade, and if he thought she’d say yes, then he shrugged and told her she has a good chance. When she caught his eye, he shot her a soft smile. “If any of my other teammates catch your eye, let me know and I’ll see if they’re interested.”
Arthur was so understanding and supportive that she cried. They were talking, and she couldn’t keep it in anymore, and she just told him. He nodded, shifted closer in his chair as she rambled a bit to try and explain what she meant. When she wouldn’t look at him, he gently took her hand, and she lifted her eyes to meet his and he was smiling. She just started crying and he hugged her until she calmed down. “Thank you for telling me. I’m happy that you’re being who you are, and I will always love you for that.”
Fred grinned like it’s the best thing he’s heard all year when she told him about her date with Katie. He congratulated her, hooking an arm around her shoulders, and proceeded to ask many questions — mostly about her date. “Mum’s gonna accuse the two of us trying to end our lineage.”
She gave Fred and George full permission to tell Percy, because she honestly wasn’t sure about doing it herself. They do it in some really obvious but attempting to be subtle way, when Ginny isn’t there. He doesn’t react then, but he comes to find her later in her room, and he sits down with her. He tells her that it doesn’t matter to him, and he’s sorry that she didn’t think she could tell him. She assures him she was just nervous and he understands. “I will always protect you. Even when you don’t need me.”
Charlie was delighted. She told him in a letter because she wasn’t sure when she’d see him but what he wrote back was nothing but love and support, and he actually came out to her at the same time, and promised to talk properly in person next time he visits. “If you need someone to talk to in the mean time, I’d recommend Tonks, she’s brilliant.”
Molly was the one she was most scared to tell. That’s why she waited so long before finally telling her while they were getting dinner ready. She stared at her back, waiting for her to respond while she dried a plate to set it on the table. When her mum turned to face her, she was wearing a small smile, and said, “Okay,” then handed her another plate and continued with the dishes. Ginny didn’t know what to make of it. Dinner was quiet. It wasn’t mentioned again, and Ginny decided that her mum tolerating her future relationships like she tolerates Bill’s marriage and Charlie’s lack of one was probably the best she was going to get.
As for her friends; she told Luna over a discussion about a queer witch from centuries ago, and Luna had smiled, chin in her hand, and said she was happy to have a friend who shared how she felt. Harry had sat in silence for a moment long enough for her to worry, then quietly asked, “If you’re allowed to feel like that in the wizarding world, does that mean... guys are allowed to feel that way about about other guys?” And she had indeed gone to Tonks once or twice, who was as delighted as Charlie, practically bouncing, and promised to be like a big sister if she needed her for anything.
• Do they go to pride? If so, with whom? — Ginny discovers that Pride is a thing through Tonks, who excitedly tells her everything about it at an Order meeting. She asks if Tonks will take her, which is the height of honour to her. Ginny casually mentions it to Fred and George in the passing, and they ask to tag-along. Bill trusts Tonks, but he still comes along. Just in case; those four out in the Muggle world is a recipe for disaster. She manages to convince Harry to join, too, so of course Ron’s there, and Luna was already planning to go with her dad anyway so they meet up.
• Do they show their colours? (Flag-wise) — After coming out to everyone she cares about, Ginny is happily confident in letting everyone else know. She wears the bi colours to Pride, and she got a few badges there courtesy of George that she has pinned somewhere on her outfits nearly all of the time around Hogwarts.
And now Landon Kirby!
• Headcanon for their sexuality — I just get very strong ace vibes? And possibly bi. It just makes Sense to me.
• Have they come out? If so, how — He told Rafael before anyone else. Just sorta blurted it out to him in their room after many, many days of overthinking how he’d say it. Telling Hope and Josie was then easier, as they were preparing one of their movie nights.
• How their friends/family took their coming out:
Rafael was the most supportive person in Landon’s life about everything, so this was no different. He picked up on Landon’s anxiety while telling him and approached his response with great comfort, assuring him that it changed nothing, he loves him unconditionally, and he would be right there by his side to stand up to anyone who said one word about it. His response actually made it easier for Landon to be more confident in accepting who he is.
Hope reacted in a similar way. She saw how nervous he was and told him that it didn’t make her feel any differently about him. He was a little more worried about telling her he was ace, but she smiled and hugged him, promised that they would never do anything he didn’t want to and she was okay with that.
Telling Josie didn’t feel as daunting; after all, he knew how open she was about her own sexuality, so easing it into a conversation made him less anxious about how she’d react. Sure enough, she gave him a soft, knowing smile behind the wide eyes, and they were joking about it within two minutes.
Lizzie was downright delighted. She claimed that she picked up on the “vibes” from him right from the beginning but couldn’t be sure, so she was just waiting to see if he ever said anything. He of course rolled his eyes at that, but he was grinning as she plunged into a seemingly endless well of questions — mostly about if they had the same taste in people, because they have Hope in common, so she wanted to see if it stretched to her two-week crush on Jed, or her infatuation with Sebastian. They got into a whole debate over Star Wars characters.
Kaleb honestly thought that Landon was already out, so that was more of a surprise to him. He swears hands-down that they had flirted a couple times, so he just assumed! It was a funny moment.
MG was bright smiles and literally just a ball of supportive sunshine. But actually, while talking about it, Landon kinda helped MG realize that he may not be too straight either. It was a nice, very insightful conversation that helped both of them.
Wade could not be happier. He had already come out to Landon a few months before during a D&D game— something that had given Landon a little push — and he’s so glad that Landon trusts him and sees him as someone important enough to share this part of him with. He, of course, also told him while they were playing D&D; he slipped it into his character’s story.
• Do they go to Pride? If so, with whom — Landon doesn’t really know what Pride actually is until he joins the Salvatore School, and after he comes out, Josie gives him a better idea. Mystic Falls hosts Pride every year (it’s a new tradition, really, but the town’s trying to pretend it’s always been so progressive), and so she invites him along. He’s unsure since crowds aren’t really his thing, but Lizzie is insistent (she admits she just wants to see if she can find the love of her life and maybe someone for him if he’s willing), and Hope says she’s going too, and after Wade, Kaleb, and MG invite him as well, it’s hard to say no.
He goes with them all and actually… it’s pretty cool. It’s the most colourful he’s ever seen the town, that’s for sure. And it’s fun!
• Do they show their colours? (Flag-wise) — He’s proud to be himself, obviously, but at the same time, he’s still more comfortable with keeping it quiet from anyone outside of his close friends, so he doesn’t tend to display either of his flags colours too often. He does make an exception for the second time he goes to Pride, though.
So, this was long. I don’t know whether to apologize for that for or not but again, I hope you enjoy some of these headcanons! I had the most fun with the reactions from the rest of the Weasley’s!

Gordon's pansexual flag caught me off guard it was a super pleasing surprise~! Would you mind telling us more about the sexuality of the Black Bull Café members in more depth?
!!!!! Oh, sure~! 😉✌ I’ve already shared my headcanon on the black bull’s sexuality (Here!), but honestly I’m just going to change a few of the character’s sexuality for this modern au! Specifically the one’s that are labeled ‘heterosexual’ adfsfds. I added more details behind my headcanons!
Yami: Bisexual*
I initially HC Yami as heterosexual for the sake of putting heterosexual for some of the characters, but I changed my mind lmao. I feel like Yami has more of a preference towards women, but wouldn’t mind dating another gender if they happen to peak his interest. But because he’s so open with his attraction towards women, people mistake him as a ‘heterosexual guy’.
Vanessa: Bisexual
Vanessa had always found girls to be attractive but growing in a rigid and closed-off upbringing made it difficult for her to freely express her sexuality. It wasn’t until she left her mother where she became more comfortable with experimenting her sexuality! She’s also attracted to men and so she labeled herself as ‘bisexual’!
Finral: Heterosexual -> Bicurious -> Bisexual (It became a long journey)
Finral had always thought he was heterosexual for most of his life. He was so confident that he only liked girls that he was oblivious of his tendency to say some very ‘unstraight’ things about guys he thought looked attractive. It wasn’t until Vanessa slowly eased him into the idea of him possibly being into guys as well where he was like, “???? Me liking gUyS? NO WAY...I mean... Hmmm...n O. Wait... Maybe??”.Thus began his journey of slowly realizing that he may actually be bisexual. He was in denial for the longest time though. Finral is specifically a ‘bi disaster’.
Gordon: Pansexual
I pictured Gordon as someone who doesn’t care for gender and focuses more on one’s personality. He started exploring his sexuality when he saw a club specifically for people of LGBTQ+ at Clover academy! Gordon was pretty lost about what his sexuality could be and so he decided to do some research! This is where Gordon realized that pansexual was a thing!
Gauche: Bisexual*
Initially made him heterosexual because I thought out of all the characters, he radiates straight energy but then I decided, ‘nah… he’s bi’. It just feels right to me. Gauche didn’t care much about his sexuality and was okay with the ‘bisexual’ label.
Henry: Asexual
I don’t really see Henry being interested in sexual activities. In fact, Henry never had any sexual attraction towards anyone! In general, Henry seems more into the romantic aspect of a relationship.
Zora: Bisexual
Oh man. Zora is pretty proud of being bisexual. The Ideale family is generally supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and so it was easy for Zora to find himself in such a safe environment!
Grey: Demisexual
Grey is a slow burn when it comes to being sexually attracted to someone. She can only develop sexual feelings if she is emotionally close with that person! She had this revelation when she spoke with Vanessa about sexuality and relationships.
Charmy: Pansexual
Gemini queen doesn’t care about your gender, she only cares if you can cook or love to eat! That’s literally it lmao.
Magna: Bisexual
Similarly to Finral’s case, he thought he was heterosexual because he already knew what kind of girl he’d date. But guys? Didn’t put that much into it until he started catching feelings for a cute guy in his class. He accepted this information a lot more easier than Finral did. lol
Luck: Pansexual
Luck just doesn’t care. The only thing he cares about is if you’re tough or interesting. That’s it!! 😤
Secre “Nero”: Demisexual
Same with Grey, she needs to have a very close relationship with someone to be sexually attracted to them.
Noelle: Bisexual
She likes cute girls and Asta. There’s no need to explain more!
Asta: Pansexual
Asta seems like the type of guy who doesn’t care for gender as well! He has a big crush on sister Lily though so a lot of people just assume he’s straight because he doesn’t show any attraction towards anybody else lmao.

Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four,  Part Five, Part Six
Part Three!
...or I suppose technically it’s part two of Part Two since this one will finish up what the other one started.
Shall we return to Grow Up?
(This’ll be long even though I managed to be a little ruthless and cut some of the images.)
We’ll start with the staffroom and finish with the dorm rooms.
I am only assuming it’s a staffroom. For all I know it could be some kind of common room. But they spend a damned lot of time there. They eat. They hangout. They study. And it’s not just the students, so I’m calling it a staffroom.
Anyway! This breakfast bar thing props up a fair amount of leaning, from general side leans.
Tumblr media
To the favoured elbow hook lean.
What I find funny about this particular surface is that Bai Yu’s legs are so long that he actually can’t sit ‘properly’ at it. If he sits straight, then he has to lean forward, since his knees are knocking into it. And when he does sit close (his feet aren’t on the floor, since he’s on a stool, so he can sit properly), he has to spread his legs in some form of obscene manspreading fashion that made me cackle and that I apparently managed to not get a screenshot of (and annoyingly I can’t remember which episode it was in).
Tumblr media
Right then, on to the table.
Literally.
On to the table.
Because, clearly, Bai Yu can’t resist sitting on a tabletop.
Tumblr media
I made a post about it a while ago, but I’m still not over it so, just as a quick break from the sitting - that outfit is certainly a choice of the wardrobe department.
I mean just look at it, with it’s mustard trousers paired with that top, and a lime green tie. It’s like someone threw the 70s at him or something and went with whatever stuck. I feel like it shouldn’t work. But why does it? Is it a Bai Yu thing?
I mean I know he can pull off some slightly questionable fashion choices - that denim on denim look he has as Zhao Yunlan is something I’d normally say isn’t a good idea, but he looks damn good in it. There is also the jacket with the buttons on the back that I’m still questioning to this day. And the time they apparently rolled him in glitter. And, ok, I happily admit that I don’t tend to understand fashion, and I understand even less of Chinese fashion, but, just, how did this choice come about? Pretty much everyone else in this show seems to wear ‘normal’ sedate clothes. Then there’s this guy. With his bright colours, his polka dots on polka dots, and his cravats. Honestly, mixing his outfit choices with his sitting preferences and relationships, I’m becoming convinced that this is just another example of Bai Yu giving his character Disaster Bi energy. The dude ain’t straight, and the dude ain’t gay. I’d say this dude is a Certified Disaster Bi.
Tumblr media
Ok, back to the table and Bai Yu’s leaning back in an almost draw-me-like-one-of-your-French-girls manner.
And, like, there is a chair right there.
But nope.
The unpadded table is apparently more appealing for this man’s relatively flat arse than the padded chair that is right there.
I mean, yeah, he makes an appealing picture that’s visually different from everything else going on, but that does not negate the fact he ignored the empty chair that’s right next to him in favour of draping himself over the table.
Tumblr media
And look, he can sit at the table as opposed to on it. There’s quite a few instances where he’s sitting at the table in a chair like a proper person. Granted, in pretty much every instance he’s sitting with his legs crossed, because god forbid he have both feet touching the floor.
But of course this table also sees moments where he’s doing something different to the others. Like here. Everyone is standing, he’s sitting.
I think he’s sulking a bit in this one, but still. Different position, different aura, still not supporting his own meagre weight.
Tumblr media
And here with his gay little scout-esque neckerchief/scarf thing, leaning back, not sitting properly.
Tumblr media
He does this lean back on the sofa too.
Tumblr media
The shot is only a couple of seconds long, then he’s standing up, just like in Part Two, where he’s the only one sitting when the Teacher Doctor guy opens the door, and I touched on this a little in the previous part. But I’m really starting to think it might be a deliberate thing that’s quite clever in drawing the eye.
I should probably preface this with saying I know basically nothing about the processes that go into acting and film making. I am however technically a historian by degree and, therefore, fully capable of pulling theories out of my arse which I will then scrabble around to find sources to back them up.
So! The theory is that movement naturally draws the human eye, and if everyone is the same then a scene can fall flat. Sameness is boring, your eyes can flit over it and not take in any details.
Bai Yu?
Bai Yu is a fidget (seriously go watch his livestream videos, he fidgets, fiddles, and wriggles), this movement can be used to his advantage in drawing the eye. That scene up there? He’s not just leaning back, he’s also shifting about. He’s not in focus, but you can be damned sure that movement made my eyes focus on him before I even knew it was him.
And for combating the sameness? Look at the examples above - he’s lounging on the table, different posture to everyone else - he’s sitting while everyone else is standing -  in the previous part he’s standing while everyone else is sitting. I thought at first my eyes were drawn because it’s Bai Yu and, well, he’s a favourite of mine so why wouldn’t my eyes be drawn. But then I realised they would’ve been, regardless, because he’s different. He breaks up the sameness, he stops it being flat. It reminded me of a scene in Pride and Prejudice, where the Bennett girls turn one way, but Mrs. Bennett turns the other. I remember watching or reading a commentary about it, the move being praised. I don’t remember exactly what was said, just that it was praised for being different and adding something to the scene, and it made me wonder if Bai Yu makes similar decisions?
Tumblr media
Ok, onto the seating area proper.
He was actually sitting on an armchair properly before this, with both feet on the floor and everything...he looked so uncomfortable. Then he moved to sit on the arm of the sofa, because of course he did.
Tumblr media
Y’know, pillows get hugged a lot in this programme, mainly by Bai Yu, but by others too sometimes.
Tumblr media
And why sit normally when there’s a perfectly good coffee table in front of you to rest your foot on and make some viewers wince because why is your ankle bending that way? How is that even comfortable?
Tumblr media
Just look at it. Barely resting on the table with his other foot adding weight to it.
You make my joints ache, sir.
Tumblr media
Ok so technically I probably could’ve cut this one, since he’s just sitting on the sofa, nothing fancy, legs crossed, arm slung over the back as he pulls faces while she’s playing a game - she’s training to be a doctor but has a fear of blood so to get her use to it his character gets her to play fighting games(?) and someone else puts red dye on her hands - but this ends up leading to...
Tumblr media
...this.
And just...what? How...?
That can’t be comfortable, surely.
I don’t even...are your joints even real, sir?
Tumblr media
If your own joints are twinging in sympathy pain, this is your chance to go give your arms a shake and your body a wiggle before we head to the last section of the dorm rooms. Make sure everything is where it should be to remind yourself that you’re not the broken marionette doll Bai Yu can apparently become.
Right. All shook out? Good.
First stop the girls’ dorms, last stop the boys’.
There’s not much in the main girls’ room, really, just his usual sitting with his legs crossed because obviously the floor is lava and can’t be trusted with both feet.
Tumblr media
I’m not sure how much he can be blamed for this one, as he’s technically been thrown into the chair by the little doctor trainee whose character reminds me a bit of Wen Qing.
As a side note, when you’re watching something that you don’t understand the language of, scenes like this can really throw you, because you’re just sitting there minding your own business, when suddenly they’re alone in the room together and Bai Yu’s character is taking off his tie, before striping off his shirt and tossing it on the sofa, and then you’re sitting there like wait, what? When did...? I thought...? What? But then he just gets tossed into the chair and some kind of conversation happens that makes you relax because, yeah, from your vague understanding of the characters, that makes more sense.
Tumblr media
Even though he was tossed down, he didn’t actually need to keep his feet on the chair, but of course that didn’t stop him.
Tumblr media
He is actually capable of looking comfortable sitting in this particular chair, he even gets to hug a pillow while doing it.
Tumblr media
Now then, the boys’ dorm.
He came in, he saw them, he plopped down on the coffee table.
He could’ve sat on the sofa, he could’ve pulled up a chair, but nope. Coffee table.
Tumblr media
Obviously, as previously mentioned, the floor is lava, so at the first opportunity he lifted both feet on the table and happily sat on it like an indulgent cat or something.
Tumblr media
The sofa.
This sofa is not big enough for a full Bai Yu stretch out, but he can happily curl up on either end.
Tumblr media
You could turn him into Bai Yu themed bookends.
Tumblr media
Now, from watching Guardian we are all aware that this man is fully capable of embodying the spirit of a cat.
I, however, raise you the spirit of a Great Dane.
Tumblr media
I see no difference between these two images.
Tumblr media
Also not even this character’s mother can get him to sit properly. She prods him up and shuffles him over, and the first thing he does is pull up a knee.
Tumblr media
Y’know how people starfish in bed? Well Bai Yu can apparently starfish in an armchair. He just plops down and flings his limbs out.
Tumblr media
I almost didn’t catch this one, it’s part of some studying montage thing, and I thought he was sitting properly since he’s leaning forward, and I can clearly see his slippers.
Then I had a ‘wait, hold up’ moment, went back, and looked properly.
Tumblr media
There are no feet in those slippers.
There are no legs attached to them.
So even when you think he’s sitting properly. He isn’t because he is kneeling. And I almost missed this ridiculousness!
Tumblr media
Yes, Bai Yu, sit on a bed post that is clearly not meant to be sat on.
This is a moment where he could’ve leant against the wall, but evidently saw even the smallest flat surface as an invitation to sit.
Is that post migrating to places a bed post shouldn’t be migrating to?
Should’ve thought of that before you went and sat on it.
Tumblr media
Not only does illness and subsequent surgery give him an excuse to lay on a gurney, it also gives him an excuse to lay in bed!
Tumblr media
Apparently being tucked in by other men is also something not entirely unique to Bai Yu’s Zhao Yunlan. That bloke, the roommate that he went on a not-date-but-looked-like-a-date-with-wine-and-everything, seems like an absolute sweetheart and I’m still pissed at what they did in the last episode. It was uncalled for, script writers, uncalled for!
Although, I suppose, in regards to this project, it is kinda ironic that by the end, of the three men in their 'friendship group' of seven, Bai Yu’s character is the last one standing.
Tumblr media
If I was a ‘they were roommates. Oh god they were roommates’ kinda writer these beds would be a bloody godsend. Just look at the watching and pining potential if top bunk guy was mooning over bottom bunk guy, while top bunk was doing work at his desk, and bottom bunk was sleeping.
The potential, people, the potential.
So that’s it. Grow Up is all done, and I can confidently put this in the column of Bai Yu quirks that become character quirks.
If you want to watch it, it’s available on Youtube, but there aren’t any subtitles. It’s on Dramacool too, but, again, no subtitles and the quality is horrid compared to Youtube.
Considering I couldn’t care less about the main storyline, it’s not actually a bad little drama.
Part One, Part Two , Part Three, Part Four, Part Five, Part Six

Do you have the same energy for the homophobic z/Tara stans who post disgusting things under the zukka art work.
Well, considering I’ve never seen any Zutara shippers commenting anything homophobic under Z//ukka posts since we tend to keep to ourselves respectfully (we get crucified the most out of all the shipping circles), I’d still say yes, I do keep the same energy. If you are purposefully going to Z//ukka artwork and commenting homophobic things, you are disgusting and I hope you find it in yourself to get educated and helped.
The Zutara community is one of the most diverse sub-fandoms in A:tLA; we have people from different ethnic backgrounds, races, sexualities, genders, etc., and they are some of the kindest people. So it’s hard to believe when you hear a Zutara shipper commenting something hateful on a post. I can only really think of one person who would possibly do that, and believe me, we Zutarians don’t claim them and have them blocked.
But to be completely fair with you, Anon—and correct me if I’m wrong—I think the Z//ukka fandom obsesses more on enforcing homophobia—ironically—than the Zutara community does. You know how many Z//ukka shippers I’ve seen said Katara wouldn’t approve of Z//ukka because she’s a bigot? You don’t see Zutara shippers saying Katara’s the “token annoying straight homophobic girl”. And you know why? Because Katara would never, ever discriminate against someone because she knows what it’s like. In fact, multiple people including myself have deemed Zutara as the ultimate bisexual ship because let’s face it Katara and Zuko are both bi disasters. So, really, the Z//ukka community is obsessed with enforcing homophobia rather than the Zutara community.
As a biseuxal man it sucks when people are homophobic against you, or when they say love between two men is disgusting and invalid, however I’ve never encountered that with Zutara shippers. Everyone embraces their differences and are glad we have a diverse community to see all of our experiences. And y’know what I’ve seen in the Z//ukka community? Straight white girls who love to see two cute guys together because apparently Zutara is too “straight” for them and they hate Katara and Suki. Kinda fetishizing if you ask me. Obviously that doesn’t make up the whole Z//ukka fandom, but it’s pretty sus when I haven’t seen an actual MLM come out (heh, gay jokes) and say they ship it.
Of course, there are bad apples in every community, and the Zutara community is no exception. So, in conclusion, if you don’t ship Z//ukka—this goes for anyone, not just Zutara shippers—and actively hate on it because you think the idea of two men loving each other is disgusting and invalid, you are a problem. If you ship Z//ukka because you hate women and fetishize MLM relationships, you are a problem.

Thoughts on Castlevania S3: Taka and Sumi’s abuse of Adrian
Season three spoilers below: and yes, this is plot heavy. So if you haven’t seen yet, read at your own risk.
But the TL;DR: I love Castlevania and this scene only made me love it more.
To start: This is entirely an opinion post. I don’t have enough energy to make it into a full analysis with resources and other things. So don’t take this as an essay with some deep meaning. This is entirely just an impressions post.
I love this scene. I love the writing and the visuals. And I love that it was handled in a very real manner. And I love that it represented abuse correctly, because make no mistake-- this scene was abuse--at the very least, and rape at worst. But I’m not saying that for the reasons others have given. But I’m going to get back to that in a moment.
I’m going to leave out the controversy that’s been spat about this scene, because honestly, I don’t feel like talking about it. Like I said, I’m tired. And I’m not gonna harass someone else over their opinions just because they’re different than mine. If you didn’t like this, that’s totally fine. Please don’t ask me to debate, I’m not interested in . I’m simply enjoying this show in my own little corner, and am sharing my own opinions and observations for those who might be curious.
1.) Adrian is confirmed canonically (as far as the Netflix series goes) Bisexual.
Tumblr media
While the events that follow the scene absolutely make this scene abuse and manipulation, at the start, Adrian does consent to the sex initially (INITIALLY, I’m not forgetting what happens after). He willingly makes out with both Sumi and Taka, and he’s very obviously anally penetrated when Taka puts Adrian’s legs over his shoulders. It’s not subtle. This is probably the smallest thing to mention given what happens, but this did make me happy. Adrian is only the second character in my favorites list to be confirmed LGBTQIA+ (the other being Damien Bloodmarch from Dream Daddy: a Dad Dating Simulator). And I won’t lie, I cried for both instances.
Tumblr media
This is a popular show, and Adrian is one of the main characters. This season had so many good examples of LGBT+ relationships-- including a very healthy partnership between two of the female villains which was openly discussed by them on screen. It’s treated as normal but not made the focus of the story, though it’s very obvious and not hidden. This was very impressive and respectful, showing a range of different orientations, and showing both healthy and unhealthy relationships.
Tumblr media
I won’t address the games, because I haven’t finished playing them. I’ve heard some saying he’s always been bi, some saying it was never confirmed, and some saying he was confirmed straight. So I don’t know. I am of the opinion that a character’s sexuality does not affect the overall lore any more than their skin color or religion does. BUT, that is all I can say. I don’t know the games. And this scene certainly does include lore, as I will touch on in a bit...
2.) This scene was abuse, and the writing vilifies it as such.
Tumblr media
As I said above, Adrian does seem to initially consent to the sex. He returns their kisses, he grips onto Sumi’s ass, and holds Taka’s shoulder as they make out. These are actions that imply he was enjoying this at the beginning. Although, it is possible he may have felt somewhat pressured to go further, as when they initially push him down, he does seem taken back, although that may have been mostly surprise.
Tumblr media
However, as the scene goes on, it becomes clear that these two are attempting to make Adrian vulnerable. They continue with him until he is exhausted-- there are two of them and one of him. And given Adrian’s reactions, it’s very possible this may have been his first time. And I’m also not going to gloss over the fact that Adrian himself has said that he aged quickly. It is entirely possible that Adrian may still mentally be a child, in which case, this is also two young adults taking advantage of a younger teenager.
Tumblr media
However, when this clearly becomes abuse and possibly rape is why they were having sex with him in the first place-- they wanted to make him vulnerable enough to kill him. They grew impatient with Adrian, wanting him to do things he could not do and teach them things he had not yet had the chance to. He gave them all he could, but their urge to return to Japan and free their people grew into a desire to kick out and replace the authority that abused them, to “make their own empire.” I also like that this makes this very real and tangible-- the abusers are not cartoonishly evil. They are real people with real motives who experienced abuse themselves. This hits a really sensitive topic many people aren’t willing to address-- that anyone is capable of abuse, villains aren’t alien, and people who may be otherwise trustworthy may commit grievous acts which can deeply hurt people.
Tumblr media
What solidifies the idea in my mind is Adrian’s reaction after he kills them both and frees himself. We see him, having dragged himself to his childhood bedroom, laying on the floor in the spot where he killed his father, shaking and crying. He was violated. He was betrayed. The first time he’d been living a somewhat normal life in over a year, and the only two friends he had after Sypha and Trevor left stabbed him in the back. These humans, whom he killed his father to protect, took advantage of him and almost killed him, forcing him to kill them first.
Tumblr media
I’m going to link to this post by @fandomwanderer and this post by @mega-ringsandthings-world, because the sum up the idea better than I ever could. But this sets up Adrian’s character superbly. I will say, my wish for the next season is a bit different.
I hope that, eventually, Sypha and Trevor do come back, expecting Adrian to be waiting for them with open arms. And instead they find a very cold, very detached Adrian who is not acting like himself. I want tension between these three characters who used to be friends, until it builds up and eventually leads to a clash, possibly in the form of a physical fight. I want it to escalate until something happens and causes pause enough for Sypha and Trevor to talk Adrian down, at which point we finally see him start to crack, and eventually break down in his friends arms. I want them to ask about the scars, and prod and push until he snaps and attacks them, only to lead to him revealing everything that happened and clinging to them for comfort, while they wish they could’ve been the ones to kill the bastards. I truly do hope this happens. It’s been Three Seasons. Two of them have ended with Adrian sobbing. I want him to finally get some relief. But, even with this, I’m sure whatever the writers decide to do, it will be amazing. They’re in a very precarious place right now, but I’m excited to see where they go with it.
3.) Adrian’s reaction is perfectly justified.
Tumblr media
This may just be an extension of point two, but Sumi and Taka’s abuse is not excused by the writing. All too often in fiction, rape and abuse are written off as not being that bad or even being desirable. What happens to Adrian is not painted as positive. It affects him extremely negatively, and it is not treated as his fault in any way. Even though he initially consented, these two betrayed his trust and hurt him. That is never treated as something he should be responsible for. Granted, with this being at the end of the series, there wasn’t much time for this to digest. I expect to see some characters see how he reacted by killing and spitting them, and initially assume that he did so because “he’s Dracula's son and of course.” But these characters will likely be doing so without context. The abuse also isn’t blamed on Adrian’s apparent orientation. Hector is abused in the same way by Lenore, in a heterosexual female-on-male abuse scene. And as stated above, there are healthy LGBT+ relationships in the show, as well.
Tumblr media
Also, as the above linked post states, this also leads to us seeing Adrian slip slowly into the mindset his father once held-- perhaps not completely, but it is beginning. And all I’m left to think is, how much must this hurt? How much must Adrian hate seeing himself this way after everything he did for humans? But he’s so hurt by this betrayal that he can’t see things any other way right now. He is in pain, and he has had no real rest from that pain since his mother was killed.
Tumblr media
“I gave you everything.” Adrian opened his home to Sumi and Taka, and he opened his heart to them, as well. He gave them his home, his weapons, his knowledge, his body. He is very young and very trusting, despite everything he’s been through. And that trust was taken and shoved right back in his face with insult and humiliation. He gave his all, not just for Sumi and Taka, but for humanity as a whole. He killed people, he killed his own kind, and he killed his own father-- his only remaining parent-- after his own mother was killed by the very people he was trying to protect. He gave everything, and humanity took it all and then shat on him in return. Adrian has every. right to feel betrayed. I don’t think he’ll be the new villain solely because I believe they will stick a bit closer to game lore, and may rather have him simply put himself to rest until the next major disaster hits humanity. But I do think this event caused his view of humanity to be less rose-tinted. He was forced to grow up fast, and much more painfully than he should’ve.
Tumblr media
I truly hope, more than anything else, in future seasons Adrian does get some form of relief. Though, I doubt the world is done kinking him while he’s down. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, something truly good and unbastardized will come his way. Until then, I’ll be waiting with baited breath. I couldn’t be happier that this series is continuing.
Tumblr media
P.S.: Please let me hug Adrian.

Idk if this counts as a gay disaster story considering nothing really happened but in my 8th-9th grade year ( i was probably 13-14 years old) I’ve had gay male teens tell me directly that if i was a guy that I would be there’s, straight females say to me that if I was guy they would either f me or date me, and much older teenage lesbians say to me that they wish they were my age or i was older and that they would gladly do things with me 😬(people are way to direct with me and sometimes I would be told things multiple times a day). And now im going into my junior year and im a more confused (relationship wise) bisexual female and I’ve only been in one semi-serious relationship and a two day relationship (bc I realized that person was a lot more than I could deal with). Why do I attract gay top energy men, very direct straight women, and way to mature for me lesbian/bi women 🤦‍♀️. Now after my sophomore year im a bigger mess then when I came out to my friends and got my first girlfriend ( now ex). So any advice about anything? 😂
My honest advice? It sounds like it makes you a little uncomfortable, and if I’m reading that rightly, you should tell them so. It’s hard to figure out your sexuality when people around you are trying to influence you in that way. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries! Tell people to back off! You need space to work out what interests you and in what way. I hope you’re doing okay, friend. Hang in there.

“BUTCH” HAS LONG been the name we’ve given a certain kind — that kind — of lesbian. The old adage applies: You know her when you see her. She wears men’s clothing, short hair, no makeup. Butch is an aesthetic, but it also conveys an attitude and energy. Both a gender and a sexuality, butchness is about the body but also transcends it: “We exist in this realm of masculinity that has nothing to do with cis men — that’s the part only we [butches] know how to talk about,” says the 42-year-old writer, former Olympic swimmer and men’s wear model Casey Legler. “Many people don’t even know how to ask questions about who we are, or about what it means to be us.”
Many of us wear the butch label with a certain self-consciousness, fearing the term doesn’t quite fit — like a new pair of jeans, it’s either too loose or too tight. The graphic novelist Alison Bechdel, 59, doesn’t refer to herself as butch but understands why others do. “It’s a lovely word, ‘butch’: I’ll take it, if you give it to me,” she says. “But I’m afraid I’m not butch enough to really claim it. Because part of being butch is owning it, the whole aura around it.”
What does owning it look like? Decades before genderless fashion became its own style, butches were wearing denim and white tees, leather jackets and work boots, wallet chains and gold necklaces. It isn’t just about what you’re wearing, though, but how: Butchness embodies a certain swagger, a 1950s-inspired “Rebel Without a Cause” confidence. In doing so, these women — and butches who don’t identify as women — created something new and distinct, an identity you could recognize even if you didn’t know what to call it.
By refuting conventionally gendered aesthetics, butchness expands the possibilities for women of all sizes, races, ethnicities and abilities. “I always think of the first butch lesbian I ever saw,” says the 33-year-old actor Roberta Colindrez. “This beautiful butch came into the grocery store and she was built like a brick house. Short hair, polo shirt, cargo pants and that ring of keys … It was the first time I saw the possibility of who I was.” And yet, to many people, “butch style” remains an oxymoron: There’s a prevalent assumption that we’re all fat, frumpy fashion disasters — our baseball caps and baggy pants suggest to others that we don’t care about self-presentation. But it’s not that we’re careless; it’s that unlike, say, the gay white men who have been given all too much credit for influencing contemporary visual culture, we’re simply not out to appease the male gaze. We disregard and reject the confines of a sexualized and commodified femininity.
ETYMOLOGICALLY, “butch” is believed to be an abbreviation of “butcher,” American slang for “tough kid” in the early 20th century and likely inspired by the outlaw Butch Cassidy. By the early 1940s, the word was used as a pejorative to describe “aggressive” or “macho” women, but lesbians reclaimed it almost immediately, using it with pride at 1950s-era bars such as Manhattan’s Pony Stable Inn and Peg’s Place in San Francisco. At these spots, where cocktails cost 10 cents and police raids were a regular occurrence, identifying yourself as either butch or femme was a prerequisite for participating in the scene.
These butches were, in part, inspired by 19th-century cross-dressers — then called male impersonators or transvestites — who presented and lived fully as men in an era when passing was a crucial survival tactic. We can also trace butchness back to the androgynous female artists of early 20th-century Paris, including the writer Gertrude Stein and the painter Romaine Brooks. But it wasn’t until the 1960s and early 1970s that butches, themselves at the intersection of the burgeoning civil, gay and women’s rights movements, became a more visible and viable community.
From their earliest incarnations, butches faced brutal discrimination and oppression, not only from outside their community but also from within. A certain brand of (mostly white) lesbian feminism dominant in the late ’70s and early ’80s marginalized certain sorts of “otherness” — working-class lesbians, lesbians of color and masculine-of-center women. They pilloried butchness as inextricably misogynist and butch-femme relationships as dangerous replications of heteronormative roles. (Such rhetoric has resurfaced, as trans men are regularly accused of being anti-feminist in their desire to become the so-called enemy.) Challenged yet again to defend their existence and further define themselves, butches emerged from this debate emboldened, thriving in the late ’80s and early ’90s as women’s studies programs — and, later, gender and queer studies departments — gained traction on North American and European college campuses.
The ’90s were in fact a transformative decade for the butch community. In 1990, the American philosopher Judith Butler published her groundbreaking “Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity,” and her theories about gender were soon translated and popularized for the masses. In her academic work, Butler argues that gender and sexuality are both constructed and performative; butch identity, as female masculinity, subverts the notion that masculinity is the natural and exclusive purview of the male body. Soon after, butch imagery infiltrated the culture at large. The August 1993 issue of Vanity Fair featured the straight supermodel Cindy Crawford, in a black maillot, straddling and shaving the butch icon K.D. Lang. That same year, the writer Leslie Feinberg published “Stone Butch Blues,” a now classic novel about butch life in 1970s-era New York. In Manhattan, comedians such as Lea DeLaria and drag kings such as Murray Hill took to the stage; it was also the heyday of Bechdel’s “Dykes to Watch Out For,” the serialized comic strip she started in 1983. In 1997, Ellen DeGeneres, still the most famous of butches, came out. Two years later, Judith “Jack” Halberstam and Del LaGrace Volcano published “The Drag King Book” and the director Kimberly Peirce released her breakthrough film, “Boys Don’t Cry”; its straight cisgender star, Hilary Swank, went on to win an Oscar for her portrayal of Brandon Teena, a role that still incites contentious debates about the nebulous boundaries between butch and trans identity. These artists and their legacies are the cornerstones of our community. As Legler says, “This is where we’ve come from, and the folks we look back to. If you identify with that lineage, then we’d love to have you.”
LIKE ANY QUEER subculture, butchness is vastly different now than it was three decades ago — though the codes have been tweaked and refined over the years, younger butches continue to take them in new and varied directions: They may experiment with their personas from day to day, switching fluidly between masculine and feminine presentation. There are “stone butches,” a label that doesn’t refer to coldness, as is often assumed, but to a desire to touch rather than to be touched — to give rather than receive — and is considered slightly more masculine than “soft butch” on the Futch Scale, a meme born in 2018 that attempted to parse the gradations from “high femme” to “stone butch.” (“Futch,” for “femme/butch,” is square in the middle.) And while there remains some truth to butch stereotypes — give us a plaid flannel shirt any day of the week — that once-static portrait falls apart under scrutiny and reflection. Not every butch has short hair, can change a tire, desires a femme. Some butches are bottoms. Some butches are bi. Some butches are boys.
Different bodies own their butchness differently, but even a singular body might do or be butch differently over time. We move between poles as our feelings about — and language for — ourselves change. “In my early 20s, I identified as a stone butch,” says the 45-year-old writer Roxane Gay. “In adulthood, I’ve come back to butch in terms of how I see myself in the world and in my relationship, so I think of myself as soft butch now.” Peirce, 52, adds that this continuum is as much an internal as an external sliding scale: “I’ve never aspired to a binary,” she says. “From day one, the idea of being a boy or a girl never made sense. The ever-shifting signifiers of neither or both are what create meaning and complexity.”
Indeed, butch fluidity is especially resonant in our era of widespread transphobia. Legler, who uses they/them pronouns, is a “trans-butch identified person — no surgery, no hormones.” Today, the interconnected spectrums of gender and queerness are as vibrant and diverse in language as they are in expression — genderqueer, transmasc, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming. Yet butches have always called themselves and been called by many names: bull dyke, diesel dyke, bulldagger, boi, daddy and so on. Language evolves, “flowing in time and changing constantly as new generations come along and social structures shift,” Bechdel says.
If it’s necessary to think historically, it’s also imperative to think contextually. Compounding the usual homophobia and misogyny, black and brown butches must contend with racist assumptions: “Black women often get read as butch whether they are butch or not,” Gay says. “Black women in general are not seen, so black butchness tends to be doubly invisible. Except for studs: They’re very visible,” she adds, referring to a separate but related term used predominantly by black or Latinx butches (though, unsurprisingly, white butches have appropriated it) who are seen as “harder” in their heightened masculinity and attitude. Gay notes that “people tend to assume if you’re a black butch, you’re a stud and that’s it,” which is ultimately untrue. Still, butch legibility remains a paradox: As the most identifiable of lesbians — femmes often “pass” as straight, whether they want to or not — we are nonetheless maligned and erased for our failure of femininity, our refusal to be the right kind of woman.
ANOTHER LINGERING stereotype, one born from “Stone Butch Blues” and its more coded literary forebears, particularly Radclyffe Hall’s “The Well of Loneliness” (1928), is the butch as a tragic and isolated figure. She is either cast out by a dominant society that does not — will not — ever see her or accept her, or she self-isolates as a protective response to a world that continually and unrelentingly disparages her.
When a butch woman does appear in mainstream culture, it’s usually alongside her other: the femme lesbian. Without the femme and the contrast she underscores, the butch is “inherently uncommodifiable,” Bechdel says, since two butches together is just a step “too queer.” We rarely see butches depicted in or as community, an especially sobering observation given the closure of so many lesbian bars over the past two decades. But when you talk to butches, a more nuanced story emerges, one of deep and abiding camaraderie and connection. Despite the dearth of representation, butch love thrives — in the anonymous, knowing glances across the subway platform when we recognize someone like us, and in the bedroom, too. “Many of my longest friendships are with people who register somewhere on the butch scale,” Peirce says. “We’re like married couples who fell in love with each other as friends.”
Legler, for their part, recognizes a “lone wolf” effect, one in which some young queers initially love “being the only butch in the room.” In organizing the group portrait that accompanies this essay over the past months, Legler was curious “what it would be like for butches to just show up together and to be able to display all of their power, all of their sexiness, all of their charisma, without having it be mitigated in some way.” And not only for butches of an older generation, but for those still figuring things out, transforming the scene in ways that both defy and inspire their elders. “It’s been centuries in the making, the fact that we are all O.K.,” Legler adds. “That our bodies get to exist: We have to celebrate that. You can do more than just survive. You can contribute.”

Rampion Crew Sexualities
As promised in this post, I’m going to go wayyyyy more in depth on the sexualitites of the rampion crew. Why? Because I can. In my mind these are all canon, but ya’ll can look at them as headcanons.
Cinder
Demisexual
She didn’t think of Kai as attractive until after she met and interacted with him. She saw plenty and pictures and interviews of him before, but never thought much of him until after that point.
I don’t think she ever thought of anyone else as attractive partially because she never expected to find love (since she was a cyborg and adri emotionally abused her into thinking she wasn’t worthy of love) and partially because she didn’t have time to think about or want a relationship in general.
Kai
The Token Straight™
Instead of the token gay, we now have the token straight. fight me on this.
Attracted to Cinder, blushes ridiculously around Winter (even though he was already dating Cinder. But it’s Winter and literally everyone but Wolf is attracted to her, so can you blame him?)
He’s that hella supportive Straight Guy . Think Jason Grace from the riordianverse.
I really love the idea of Kai hosting an annual Pride Ball/Gala at the palace. Everyone’s outfits are the colors of their flag. Rainbows and glitter are everywhere. Cinder is annoyed by all the glitter, but she’s happy that they do this every year… even if she still finds glitter in her metal extremities 6 months later
Iko
Asexual heteromantic
Even though she has a human like body now, I don’t think she’d ever be in a relationship with someone (W&N almost making kiko a thing made me upset and frustrated honestly).
She really likes the idea of being in a relationship though, which is why I consider her heteromantic. She canonically romanticizes the idea of love–wanting Cinder to go to the ball to dance with Kai, and a bunch of other instances I’m blanking on right now.
Finds people attractive “You’re even more handsome in person” but doesn’t want to have sex with anyone, because again, robot. I really don’t even want to know how sex with an escortdroid would work in the tlc universe
Scarlet
Bisexual
She’s hella physically attracted to Wolf obviously. They made out on that train after knowing each other for only what, a few days?
But let’s not forget that she frequently blushes around Winter as well.
In general she has very chaotic bi energy
carrying a gun on her at all times
starting fights in the bar to stand up for people
running away from home when she was younger
not having any real regard for personal safety
Wolf
Scarletsexual
Let’s be honest, this man only has eyes for his feisty red head.
He never thinks of anyone else. there wasnt anyone before her, and there’s never going to be anyone after her.
You know how everyone thinks winter is beautiful, and blushes or stares at her for a sec while interacting with her? Yeah no. Wolf is the only one who doesn’t do that because he only wants Scarlet.
Cress
Lesbiannnnnnnn (but bi romantic)
I think Cress likes the idea of dating/being with men, but when it comes down to it, she would not enjoy having sex with men.
Her and Thorne’s relationship probably wouldn’t last more than a few months after the end of Winter because of this (I pretend they aren’t a thing in SOSN). It’d just take her a few months to realize “Okay, I like him, he’s a better person now, but anything more than kissing him I’m just not into”
and Thorne would be 100% okay with it and they’d “break up” on good terms. They’d still travel the world together but as best friends or maybe it becomes an almost sibling-like relationship.
Seriously ya’ll I just really need more lesbian Cress.
Thorne
Epitome of Disaster Bi™
He hits on everyone, okay? Not just women.
I’m a big fan of him being in denial about his sexuality. He may be willing to flirt with everyone, but he was probably really nervous about dating guys at first.
Even though this is in the future and people are probably much more okay with sexualities, I feel like his parents are those old money people who are homophobic which is why Thorne is in denial.
He started to figure out and get comfortable with his sexuality sometime between deserting and getting arrested in New Beijing, but he doesn’t actually start going out with guys until after the Lunar Revolution.
Winter
Pansexual
Winter loves everyone and everyone loves Winter.
She’s so very positive when it comes to physical appearance.
It doesn’t matter if someone is short or tall, fat or skinny, white as snow or black as night, she thinks everyone is beautiful and attractive just because they’re unique.
Jacin
Demisexual/romantic (on the verge of Wintersexual)
The reason Jacin is so in love with Winter is because they spent their entire lives together, so he knows her inside and out.
Even if he and winter weren’t in love, he’s the type of person who would only be attracted to someone who he feels emotionally connected to.
Because he’s a guard and easily glamoured, he wouldn’t care much about appearance, be attracted to someone based on it, or believe a person’s appearance is even accurate to what they truly look like–it’s all about personality and connection for him
