Repost time pt. 5/30 - 2019

Since we got to the end for my only traditional art segment I thought my 2019 art summary would be a great way to start reposting my digital art what happened after Inktober (so no the older ones you see here will not be shared probably xD)

Before any of you would come at me for the art at February, your eyes are right, that's a Hakuouki illustration, the only thing I did there was my OC being drawn over Chizuru while I tried my best to do it in the style of the original artstyle. Didn't mean to steal it, didn't mean to cause any harm, I never profited from it, it was just for fun and practicing, I hope we're good 💜💙

Art Summary of 2023

I kind of wish I had taken this thing to the next level and used a picture with a clone in it for March and November as well (I looked it up now, I very much could have added my Fives portrait or that first pinup-y illustration of Rex for March, and a very cute drawing of a clone OC and his dog (of whom I am promised to get partial custody, and how cool is that really?? and I am so very excited to show him off next year!!)) but it was also the year of Din in big hats as well, so I let those pieces stay :) You'll just have to take my word that there is a Rex in the July picture too.

I feel ike I have learned so much, and also have grown a lot more confident in my skills as an artist; I've learned that I love drawing backgrounds to make a "full" illustration, that intricate little details fascinate me to no end, that I can do fun things with lineart and my version of cell shading but I also miss dedicating the time to a full painting; and that harsh/stronger light reflecting off of darker skin is still something I'll have to study further next year.

Thank you everyone for your continued support in 2023! I have so many kind and enthusiastic tags screenshotted and saved for the days when I inevitably doubt what I do, it means so so much to me! I'm very grateful for the old and new friends I'd made or reconnected with this year ❤️❤️❤️ - and hello to new followers too, I hope you'll keep enjoying what I do here ❤️

A breakup, relocation, and many new experiences and life lessons--2023 was rough. I basically stopped drawing for 3 months after shit hit the fan in January (let me know if you ever want me to finish that cilan piece lol) and it's a miracle I have this many completed works. There's some stuff I haven't posted and a lot of incomplete sketches that may never see the light of day, but that's okay. True to my goal from 2022, I made art that I was proud of. I'm lucky to have ended my year on a good note, hugely thanks to the good vibes I was feeling from my friends IRL! In December, I even restarted my CSP subscription on my iPad and even completed the 30-day-OTP challenge I'd been doing for 10 years!

I use these summary of art posts as like my yearly therapy/reflection session. Probably because creating art is one of the few constants in my life, as well as one of my biggest passions, so to almost lose that passion again makes me rethink a lot of my priorities in life. I'm not completely satisfied with a lot of the pieces this year, but despite that, there was this desperation to keep trying--evident with the amount of full-color illustrations and finding a new muse in FFVII Aerith 🥰

I want to see my love of art reflected in next year's summary; whether it be through more completed long-time projects, more original art, or more experimentation. Also, improving my fundamentals like better anatomy, posing, lighting, etc. The future is uncertain, and the horrors persist...but so will I 😈
