Steve makes one of those teacher tiktok accounts where he mostly talks about teaching and tips for learning and stuff, he also posts videos like
“You wonder what it’s like to be a teacher? I’m spending my evening doing seating arrangements, the trick is to not let people who have any kind of tension, are close friends, have a crush, lose concentration easily, sit close to each other… so basically I’m playing sudoko but I only have 1, 2s, and 3s… and also the numbers change daily..” you can see him looking down at something wrinkling his eyebrows and then nodding to himself and he’s like “I think I got it though”
the next day he duets it and it’s just him looking tired and in the background you can hear incoherent shouting, the caption just says ‘there’s apparently been a breakup’
for some reason there’s a comment by Eddie Munson, famous rockstar, that’s like “you should let it play out, drama is what high school is about” and Steve has just replied “this is why you repeated senior year twice” not acknowledging at all that this famous Grammy winner commented and everyone are just like ??? ?? what are you doing here ??? and why is this high school teacher roasting u ???

my literature class is incredibly tiny (there’s only seven people. the professor spent like all of winter break thinking it would be canceled), so what i’m trying to insinuate is: i hope we don’t turn into a tiny pretentious cult and push one of our friends off a cliff during a accidentally snowy day

unassigned assigned seats — they'd always fascinated osamu. they'd fascinated him because he could never fathom how sitting at the same place everyday didn't bore the hell out of people.
it's rush hour at his restaurant and it's even more crowded than usual today. there's clatters of culinary scratching the ceramic and loud laughter from a group of teenagers who are here for lunch. the thin walls of the restaurant vibrate each time there's a beat drop in the song that's blasting through the flimsy speakers. all this noise is giving him a headache.
and then, you walk in.
you with your eyebrows furrowed and an unamused scowl on your lips, you in your light pink shirt and pencil skirt, you who's always stuck to the tuna mayo from the menu and you that always chosen the seat right beside the large glass windows that osamu made sure were devoid of lousy fingerprints.
your eyes scan over the crowd of people and his gaze follows your line of vision. there's someone on your seat — your unassigned assigned seat. this makes your temple hurt. and osamu almost let's out a laugh when he sees you audibly sigh as you walk over to the queue.
you decide you're going to get a take out and have your lunch at the office today. but right as you narrate your usual order to the girl at the other side of the counter, you watch osamu miya — the owner of the restaurant stride over to your seat and ask the guy sat there to politely switch places.
we actually have this seat reserved for someone else , you hear him say.
and when you're walking over to the said seat with your tray of onigiris in hand, you can't help but shoot a smile at him.
osamu's cheeks heat up, he smiles back and excuses himself.
unassigned assigned seats — samu thinks he might be starting to understand just what's so special about them.
next time, he makes sure to ask you why exactly you loved the seat beside the window so much — and if his guts permitted, for your number.

The Dead Poets & Alphabet Fate
thinking about the impact of school seating plans on the poets.
Imagine being eleven-year-old Cameron, Richard destined by alphabetical order to sit with Dalton, Charlie in every class and there's no escape, they're assigned to be roommates.
the mismatched pair are forced together while Meeks and Pitts (assuming there's no or very few 'N' last names) become instant buddies, and Pitts brings his alphabet fated roommate Perry, Neil into the mix
and Overstreet, Knox who is wedged between 'M' 'N' and 'P' is brought into the friendship fold
and Charlie can only watch the boys having fun or glare at Cameron, but Cam is too busy cursing his family name and the suffering it brings at school to notice.
So how does Charlie make it into the friendship group? Alphabetical order dictates that he's banished to the opposite end of classrooms until a teacher relaxes the rule, or bad behaviour causes him to be moved.
Personally, I think Welton assigns roommates alphabetically at first, and its only older students who get the option to submit preferences for Hager to consider
and in my mind, Hager would be happy for Meeks and Pitts to share a room, and perhaps Charlie shares with Neil at some point - but by the movie timeline, there's no universe where Hager allows Charlie to be placed with students he can 'negatively influence' like Neil or Knox,
so he's kept with Cameron (poor long suffering Cam), while Neil is ideal to place a new kid with.

I thought I would try to do a wedding on a lot to see how chaotic it goes and I'm laughing and crying in both amusement and frustration with just getting the guests to sit properly. 😭
It's too late to turn back now! I'm going to see this through! And hope I get some decent pictures......
ETA: I'm so glad I had them buy two cakes because someone already stole a slice! 😭😭😭😭

if I can be honest I don't think you deserve an airplane window seat if you are going to get up to go to the bathroom more than once

I've been watching "The Center Seat: 55 years of Star Trek," and it's a wonder 6 movies with the original cast were made. The struggle was real, especially with script writing! Then there was Leonard Nimoy going back and forth on whether he wanted to come back for another one and William Shatner's big ego, and Gene Roddenberry wanting to rewrite everything all the time. Meanwhile, you never hear about Deforest Kelley causing any difficulties! ❤ He just showed up and did his job, not bothering the director for more screentime or anything. (I feel like Bones sometimes doesn't get acknowledged as one of the main characters, but he is.)
