Rolling over to your side you felt the sudden whoosh of liquid exit your girl area.
Great, aunt flow decided to make an appearance at your boyfriend Sliders house! And it so happened to be the first night that you two stayed together. So with a groan you slowly crept out of the bed and started searching for your bag that had your period necessitates.
While stumbling around in the dark room your big toe collided with something hard that left a little "fuck!" from you. "Mmm, Maverick your an ass." You whipped your head towards Slider as he rolled over and grabbed his pillow and sighed. Thank God he's a heavy sleeper.
After stubbing your toe you finally found your bag and belined to the bathroom. Quietly you closed the door and turned on the light whilst locking the door.
Instantly you peeled off your sleep shorts and looked to see if there was any blood, and thankfully there wasn't. Next you went over to the toilet and took off your underwear where you saw a big splotch in the middle of it.
So you rummaged through your little bag of toiletries until you found a pad and a old pair of underwear. You then sat down on the cold porcelain throne and threw your ruined underwear away as you pulled out a new pair.
"The hell?" You heard a mumble from outside the door. "Just a minute!" "I gotta go.....bad" "Well I'm-" You saw the bathroom door slowly open and there stood a sleepy Slider. "I thought I locked it." You pouted. "Well you didn't." He let out a chuckle.
You squeezed your legs trying to hide the fact you started your period. "Can you get up I gotta pee?" "I uh-uh can." "Come on I gotta go!" He whined like a child. "Why?" "Um, um I'm bleeding down there."
He knitted his eyebrows together until he realized what was happening. "Oh, I'm sorry hun. I'll just wait out here." He awkwardly walked backwards until he was able to close the door.
You put on the new pair of underwear along with a panty liner before flushing and putting back on your shorts. Once done you got up and washed your hands before walking out to see Slider sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Sorry it took so long" you let out a little chuckle. "Its fine hun, really." He stood up and wrapped his arms around your middle as you raked your hands up and down his back.
"But really I have to take a piss." "Not-" "I will be your personal heating pad. Deal, deal." He quickly pecked the top of your head before heading to the bathroom.
While he was in the bathroom you settled back down in bed clutching your waist as a mild cramp erupted. "That fast?" You looked up and him staring at you. "What?" Slider playfully rolled his eyes before getting back into bed as his hands replaced yours where your cramps are.
"Ahhh, much better." You groaned as Slider looked down at you. "What?" "Good night hun, I love you." "I love you I'm sorry my period arrived." "Don't be, it means I get to spoil my girl even more." He chuckled sleepily as he kissed your cheek once again before laying back down pulling you close to his back.

First off, I’m sorry to hear about your painful cramps and difficult periods… Sending love!! Your experiences and feelings are valid. You are valid. You mentioned painkillers, heating pads, and showers… Those are all good options that you can try! If those work for you, then that’s great! If they don’t, that’s okay too.

What are some other options to try for periods and painful cramps?
My first recommendation is to drink lots of water. Remind yourself to stay hydrated, especially when on your period. Regular water is perfectly fine, as well as tea and milk won’t hurt either. Try and drink at least 6 bottle of water a day, if you can (how much water you should intake fluctuates on research and age, so I suggested the average amount).
After water, I would recommend exercise. Exercise can greatly reduce your period symptoms at times (although it depends on the vulva owner, their cycle, and what kind of exercise). But just getting your body moving at least once a day is good. Exercise is shown to help reduce cramps and lighten period symptoms overall.
You mentioned showers, and those are great, but sometimes hot baths help as well. This can depend on if you’re comfortable with bathing while on your period, but if you are, maybe give it a try. The surrounding warmth can sometimes ease the pain of cramps.
You can also try comfort foods, whether that be chocolate, something savory, or whatever your heart desires. Sometimes a little comfort goes a long way.
On the same note as above, watching a comfort tv show or movie can sometimes be helpful as well. Put something on, curl up with a blanket and pillow, and let yourself relax into the show/movie.

My period literally started today and it was the fucking WORST, everytime i get my period the first day is always awful bro i legit start throwing up and screaming that i’m legit starting to consider going to a doctor to see why this is happening or go on birth control to pipe ts down bc I was literally in the bathtub today screaming and passing out

Period Post!
I love love love when I begin my bleeding cycle. It’s when I am the most in tune with mind, body, soul and universe. It wasn’t always this way tho.
Ever since I started menstruating (at age 10 I think) my periods were heavy metal, meaning I would bleed through both a tampon and a pad and be in so much pain I physically couldn’t stand up straight. Everything was awful on my period and finally my mom brought me in to the doctor to see what we could do. He prescribed me birth control. Surprised? Probably not. Womben are so quickly given pills and heavy medications to put into their bodies when they simply just need to know what’s going on. He never walked me through balancing my hormones or discussed progesterone or nothing. Gave me this pill, it’ll fix all my problems. For a while I loved the pill, I set an alarm on my phone, took it every day, my doctor gave me a type I would stack for three months and then stop taking them for a week so I could bleed. That week was always fucked cus it takes a long time to get out of your system so by the time I would bleed I would start taking the pills again. I’m gonna wrap it up: I took birth control for about 12 years.
Fast forward: I’ve come off the pill, spent the time necessary to cleanse my body of the pill. My periods took a while to be some regular and coming off the pill they were just as heavy and painful as before. The things that changed my life are proper education, appreciation for my womb, following the right people on social media, herbal remedies and rituals.
It’s so important to learn that the time that we run on is built around mens bodies, as are most things. We have different cycles and our timing is divine and if we can connect to it, life gets easier. Learn the 4 phases of your cycle; inner summer, inner fall, inner winter and inner spring. I’m in spring rn and I’m feeling like I’m blossoming into my next phase of life, energetic, hot af, and connected.
Herbal medicine has impacted my life in many ways but nothing seems as significant as my period. One cup of this tea and my cramps are completely GONE! Use equal parts chopped cinnamon bark and chopped dried ginger or freshly grated ginger root and honey to taste if you like. For one cup of tea use 1 teaspoon of ingredients. I have this tea every bleed and it instantly helps.
A big thing I learned is you want to keep your womb warm to avoid pains. Keep your feet warm, don’t eat cold foods, your jaw and pelvis are connected so always try to relax your jaw, singing and sighing are wonderful. Also you are what you eat (in the nicest way) so if you haven’t already made a change to be more aware of what your putting in your body definitely do it now. What you intake will be the factors that balance your hormones. Something important to note is food is everything that is consumed; what you eat, what you watch, what you listen to and what you say to yourself.
A huge part is learning to love your period. Menstruation is the beginning of time and your womb is a portal. Around every 28 days depending on your own cycle, you go through death and rebirth. It’s sacred and powerful. Look into some ancient stories of worshipping menstrual blood and figure out some rituals and practices that inspire you. For example I love giving my blood back to the earth. I free bleed so I rinse my underwear in water in a jar and then pour the water onto my plants or the trees roots outside. Once your blood is healthy and free of toxins from pills and what not, it has so many healing factors for life in all aspects. I also love to use my finger to gently collect some blood directly from my body and place a dot on my forehead where the third eye is. It’s beneficial as a face mask as well. Also note that your first bleed is the most powerful!
I got so much important and beneficial info from Womben Wellness who you can find on Instagram under that name and also Facebook. The womban that runs it name is Usha and she does actual courses on this type of shit! She also does free educational zoom calls every once in a while that I tune in to. You could just google Womben Wellness as well, but definitely look into her she’s amazing. I get my divine love for my cycle from Goddess Molding who you can find on Instagram as well with that name, she also has a website where she sells sacred ceremony handmade items. She’s the one that shared all those bullet points in the last photo.
I could go on for EVER about this stuff, I’m so passionate about it now that I’ve learned some basic stuff that they didn’t teach us. I’m worried I’ve gone on too long so I’m finishing up now. Definitely check out those womben I recommended, they will explain everything a lot better and more beautiful than I did. Also note that every body is different and responds in different ways. It’s really figuring out what path YOU should take, what works for your body specifically and taking responsibility for your health. No one else is going to fix your body for you, and that was the hardest pill to swallow. Also remember that your womb is not separate from your body, any other health issues you have could be impacting your period. Going down this road could expose a lot of other health issues.

For anyone who wonders what it’s like in the days leading up to your period, it’s like the Times Square New Year ball descending, only it’s bringing INTENSE HUNGER, INTENSE HORNINESS!!!!, INTENSE TEARS! INTENSE ANGER! INTENSE INSECURITY! Itchy nipples! Bloating! Vaginal cramps that feel akin to fifty trillion power stations being connected to Satan’s cock as it’s rammed sideways into your dry noo-noo! Your bumhole itches so badly you wish Freddy Kruger would scratch it!
Only salty food will do! You’re bloated as though you’re pregnant with another universe anyway, shove them into your gaping maw.
Some months I want to ride my husband until my brain rattles out of my nose whilst he’s feeding me Cherry Coke and crisps sandwiches but not talking to me as we watch Hannibal.
Then there are the months that everything - EVERYTHING!! - makes me cry! I’m not sad, I’m just crying! Your takeaway just gave me my fiftieth million menu through my door? You were thinking about me ordering from you? Ohh, that’s too much. Here’s a face tsunami.
I ONCE CRIED BECAUSE A CAT LOOKED AT ME!!!!!!!
And then we have people making fun of us! “They are too irrational to be leaders!” Look, Cunt-fuck! The fact that female leaders don’t push that red button each month proves how fucking wrong you are!!!! You cunts should thank us for not nuking yous because you breathed on us after eating a tuna sandwich!!
But we’re not allowed to talk about it! At least one uterus owner you meet each day will be haemorrhaging vaginallu but we’re not allowed to mention it. We have to swallow the nausea and pretend a donkey didn’t just crotch-kick us with Satan’s hooves because “it’s happened since we’ve been on the planet.” Exactly! Yet some people are still too fucking scared to face the fact that it happens!
Then there are the people for whom a period is a welcome relief for a variety of people. I see you and I’m not trying to invalidate your experience. All power and heating pads to you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have PCOS and periods show up whenever they cunting well like but I have about six days a month where I’m not swollen, preparing for, having or recovering from my period!!
Now, I have to go and function whilst trying to gauge whether or not I just feel sick or I might actually be sick, NOT eat my body weight in crisps and not lie on the settee watching Mads Mikkelsen or Dave Foley!!

Also for pre and post period cramps i sometimes get them sometimes i dont and ive trued things like heating pads, showers, and moving but they dont help. And sometimes it hurts to even stand. Any ideas on what can help?

So, What are my ideas and/or tips for painful periods and cramps?

As a summary, I mentioned that heating pads, painkillers, hot showers/baths, hydration, exercise, comfort foods, and comfort shows/movies are all possible things that can sometimes help difficult periods and/or cramps.

Personally what worked for me was extra hydration (tea was my best friend) and walking daily. I also liked to curl up in my couch, clutching a soft and large pillow to my core (it was a grounding thing that helped me calm down). Sometimes crying would help me destress and process my emotions as well. As well as avoiding things that are overstimulating.
